UPDATED REVIEWI appreciate the owners response to my review. It shows me that they are trying to listen to the public to stay on top of things. Changed from 3 to 4 stars.ORIGINAL POSTI appreciate that there is an affordable place for vaccines and such. However, if you need to call, be prepared to be on hold for at least 10 minutes. You cannot call the vet clinic directly. You have to go through a call center. I guess if you want affordable vet care, you have to deal with a vet thats under staffed to meet this need.
This vet used to be wonderful. Now you have to wait on the phone for an hour or more to get a hold of someone. You dont actually see a veterinarian, you just have to relay all your concerns to the tech, who plays telephone back and forth with the vet. Is there an actual veterinarian there? Who knows. They didnt address any of my concerns. This is the last time Ill take my dog here.
I had been taking my dogs here for years but the wheels have come off this place. I made an appointment (which required waiting on hold for 20 minutes) for my dog’s annual check up but an “appointment” doesn’t seem to actually mean anything. Saw someone post in another review that they don’t take appointments anymore. Wish someone had just said that when I called and I could have gone somewhere else. They seemed totally overwhelmed. After waiting over an hour, actual appointment lasted about 5 minutes.
I have been taking my dogs here for about 3 years and the service has always been great. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. The service has always been fast and they always explain everything in detail on what my dogs are having done.
Overall care is fine and the techs care about the animals, but its a high-volume clinic and communication and customer service are not great. Ive been on hold 20+ minutes every time Ive called. Im told the Bellevue location doesnt take appointments, so you can walk-in as needed, but you just have to hope the wait isnt too long, even for a routine appointment that could have been scheduled. Ive had to wait outside both times my pet was seen, and then the explanation of what was done and any next steps have been rushed and vague. Ive never seen or heard from the vet directly. If youre a first time pet owner and arent confident in what your pet needs, Value Vet doesnt seem to have the bandwidth to walk you through things or answer questions.
I would highly recommend this vet to anyone in the Nashville area. Recently, my dog ate a foreign object and I originally had to take him to an emergency vet because it was after hours. They provided no help and overcharged me (as they always do). I immediately took him here the next day and they were so incredibly kind and got him in as a walk in. The personal and professional service was unbelievable. So kind and helpful! Dr. Watts came in after hours to perform emergency surgery. He explained everything that he would be doing. The tech Shelby was so kind to both me and my dog and walked me through procedures and costs. Their price was extremely reasonable and my dog got great care. Recovered so well! Could not thank them enough.
Very poor professionalism and communication. Took my dog here to get a standard exam and x-rays. Was told he has early Hip dysplasia which probably would not go away and which is common in most large breed dogs. After paying $200 for the initial standard exam and 1 x-ray I was told if I wanted the prescription recommended for him I could pay $50 for a 2 week supply or I could call back later and they would mail it to me. After finding out Chewy.com carries the prescription, I contacted the vet to get them to send over the same exact prescription they recommended to chewy for verification. I was then told, I would have to bring my dog back in for another exam to check the condition of his hip in order to get a written prescription to send. This was only 1 week and 3 days after my initial visit.
My dog had a fungus. They were booked with the vet for the day but a sweet, dog loving, knowledgeable tech named Emily bathed her, treated her and educated me on how to bathe her in the fungus shampoo. She expressed love and concern for my pet, as she said that my poor dog had been shaking and scared while they bathed her. What more could you expect than knowledge and a staff that truly loves animals at a Vet’s office.
Nothing specific to this location, but every time I call Im on hold for a long time. Id prefer to make an appointment for my pet, I cant do walk-in appts since I dont know how long Ill have to wait. Does anyone know if the other locations will be opening back up soon?
Horrible neanderthal process going on these days. They make you wait in line just to check in and THEN make you wait in the car until they call. Who is in charge here??? This is some basic outdated operations. Get someone with a college degree to fix this process. Ive been a customer for seven years but not any more.
Called to get an appointment and was told I’d have to be put on the waitlist. Weeks later, no response. Called to see again and spent 55 minutes on hold without talking to someone. Hung up, called another vet and had an establish care visit and follow up all set for next week in less than 6 minutes. The care was ok-ish, but the absolutely horrendous scheduling and phone system are not worth it.
Took my rescue dog in where is teeth r just hanging out, $120 later was given a price, meds and a return date, its March 18th surgery set up for April 16 .called 8 times on hold all day .Finally was to the main site was closed, was also told 3I refused a cleaning so the surgery date was removed how many people would pay for a cleaning for teeth that r bein removed .DUD .now on a waiting list . My money is goin else where .RUN 4 ur pet life
Bellevue branch- You get what you pay for which isn’t a bargain. Years ago it was a great place. Not so much now. Going to take a heck of apology to get my business back and for me not to tell my friends that I was wrong to send them to Value Vet.Not only did they stick my service dog accidentally with a syringe in the lobby where she had both needle caps off (yes in the lobby where they were giving him a shot), they are now not honoring the prescriptions they issued him since I didn’t ask for them in writing at the time of the appointment. They also have not responded to my request when I filled out their online prescription for over a week. I called today to ask about it and They are telling me I have to buy it from their store. If I want my dogs medication he has to come BACK IN THE OFFICE FOR ANOTHER VISIT. And for me to buy the pills ONE AT A TIME in case he grows any bigger than 100 pounds. As a large poodle mix. Yeah... I don’t think so.There is a world wide quarantine and I am a disabled patient who can not be exposed on a limited income who can’t afford two office visits or a bait and switch for super expensive “Value Vet” flea medication.Disappointed doesn’t begin to cover it. Annoyed and disrespected former customer here.
I’ve been here a few times and the staff is always helpful as can be. Had to post a good review after today. They were busy but squeezed us in immediately to look at a suffering cat. Unfortunately he died as they received him. They identified what the cause most likely was, explained that it wasn’t preventable and took care of the remains for us. They showed tremendous compassion and barely charged any money. Thank you
I had the best experience today here. I came in panicked about my dog (because of course if you’re coming in here, it’s probably panicking) and the lady at the desk (Morgan) was so calm and helpful even tho she was running around doing ten million other things. She gave me an estimated wait time that allowed me to take my dog home rather than wait in the hot car. And when we came back, my dog didn’t want to walk in with her so she allowed me to walk in with my pup and let her get comfortable with her surroundings (something that the other value vets didn’t let me do in the past). I feel like this has been the best experience with their customer service I have ever had and literally because of Morgan’s help, I will continue to use this location only. Thank you, Morgan!!! And thank you, Value Vet!!!
I’m writing this as we are sitting in the Value Vet parking lot. We arrived at 9:30am to have our dog in for a regular checkup, and they still have not come to get her, and it’s 11:35am. We have watched several other dogs and cats show up after us and be let in. When we called to ask why ours hadn’t been taken in yet, we were told that we still have 5 ahead of us. It’s been over an hour since that phone call, and I’ve watched 5+ more animals be taken inside. Only allowing walk-ins seems to be the worst possible system. Value Vet needs to give an estimated wait time at the very least. We certainly were not told this would take 2+ hours. Will my dog ever get care? Who knows. Been waiting too long to just leave.
I have had good experiences at Value Vet in Bellevue. My cat had a large cyst on his head that was surgically removed with no issues, and the doctor and staff were very kind and helpful. I will not hesitate to go back.
I had my cats fixed here earlier this week. The staff was friendly and helpful .
Such as shame Value Vet closed location on Gallatin Rd. Not everyone can get to Nashville or Bellevue. You need update your website on all the location closed!!
Value is the key word here. Value=poor customer service. I’ll find another vet and pay a little more.
The last 3-4 times Ive called Ive waited on hold for 30 min and eventually hung up. The one time I did get a person (back in August) they told me they didnt have the September calendar ready and to call back in September. Well I did, and cant get a hold of anyone. They keep sending me reminders for rabbies/feline things for my animals, but when i try to call and set up an appointment nobody answers. Is this place still in business? Seems other reviews complaining about the same thing. Not sure why Value Vet is letting their rep online get ruined over a telephone operator. Hire a new one.
Whoever Morgan is who answers the phone needs a morality check. My senior dog was in desperate need of care. Morgan proceeded to say well Tuesday is the earliest appointment there is (its Saturday). She then quickly rattles off a name of an emergency clinic while through tears Im trying to explain Ive never had to do something like this before and I didnt catch the name- asking her to repeat it. But she hung up on me.Her attitude made me feel like I was stupid and therefore didnt matter, and because I didnt matter neither did my baby. Shameful behavior.
I cant say enough about this place! They really went above and beyond for me and my kitties when I got them fixed (I have a boy and girl kitten, 6 months old). Ill start by saying I was skeptical because of the reviews and the you get what you pay for stigma. But I couldnt have been more wrong! The place is super clean, very orderly. It has smelled like its just been freshly cleaned every time I walk in. The staff is so nice and informative. They answered all of my silly questions and didnt have an attitude like some places do. They made sure to thoroughly explain the after-care process and kept and open door and open phone line for me, just in case! They even called a couple days after to check on them. Most places in Nashville will charge $300 or more to have your kittens fixed and I spent less than $200 for both. Great staff, great quality and great service. This will definitely be my go-to pet place from now on!
I would NOT recommend value vet to anyone. My dog barked 2-3 times and then stopped and the worker from the back came to the front and told me I had to wait outside with my dog because she barked. She was NOT barking when the lady came from the back. Luckily it wasn’t too cold or rainy outside. So please save yourself a trip and do NOT go there if you have a dog that might bark once or twice. Also, to make matters worse, when I went in to get my paper so I could leave and go somewhere else..there were TWO other dogs in there barking and they were not asked to wait outside. Not sure how they determine who has to wait outside and who doesn’t but I do know that it is bad practice to ask someone to wait outside because their dog barked at a freaking VET OFFICE!! Dogs bark. Cats meow. Apparently this place doesn’t believe in dogs voicing themselves.WORST VET OFFICE EVER
Great care for my dogs at a reasonable price. Very kind when I had to put my 16 year old sweet girl down due to illness. Vets are kind and competent. Vet techs also very helpful.
Service is hit or miss. Brought my dog in and they forgot to give him a vaccine. I brought him back in the next day and had to wait a considerable amount time before they would see him. It is also difficult to get anyone on the phone. Overall, not terrible but not a standout either.
Whoever handles the appointments for the Value Vet Nashville locations is very rude! She was impatient and short. I normally have a good experience once at a location but to book an appointment through customer service via phone is a nightmare. Sorry to ding Bellevue location but there was no place to review the terrible customer service of the reps who handle appointments via phone.
When you actually get in this place is decent. appointments take forever to get. I also have been trying to be polite and cancel my appointment rather than just not show, but like EVERYTIME I call, I am on hold a minimum of 5-10 mins. EVERYTIME. I HATE COMPANIES THAT HAVE RECORDINGS THAT TELL YOU HOW IMPORTANT THEIR BUSINESS IS TO THEM AND THAT WILL BE WITH ME SHORTLY THEN KEEP ME ON HOLD TOO LONG. This was day two of trying. Im done.
I called the day before visiting this location to make an appointment, and following two 10 minute hold times finally got through to someone who told me there was an walkin day at the Bellevue location (The location near my house didnt have any openings for weeks). So I drove 25 minutes and upon rival, I was told that customers are not permitted in the lobby. I have to call the number on the door and wait in my car. I called the number thinking it was for that particular location, and once again found myself calling the main number and being on hold for 20+ minutes. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!
Won’t answer the phone. Staff had attitude with customers
Sign on the door and website and Google say Monday - Friday 7am to 6pm. Arrived at 7am. Called and got national phone service which informed me Mondays are walk ins and dont open till 9am. No notice on the building at all. Very unprofessional.
They gave my dog the WRONG vaccination.I have been coming to this location for a couple years now and have always had wonderful things to say. I also have recommended many people to Value Vet. However, lately things have changed and I will no longer be a customer.I took my dog in for his yearly shots (which when I called to make an appointment I listed the vaccines he was do for). When they brought my dog back and I was paying to leave, I noticed the cost was higher than I expected. They ended up giving my dog a rabies vaccine, although he was not due for one as he had the 3yr vaccine prior. They quickly removed the cost from my bill but my dog still received the WRONG VACCINATION. I work in the medical field (people not animals) but I know how important it is to verify the right medication with the right individual. However, Value Vet did not do this. They did not verify at check-in the vaccines my dog was to receive that day. They also took my dog to the back to receive his vaccines while I waited in front, so I was unable to double check with the vet tech before administration. I also never received documentation of the vaccines he received that day, which should be standard with your receipt.I will no longer be coming here, as safety and quality of care is a priority for me and my dog.Value Vet, please improve you safety processes so mistakes like this do not happen again.
Terrible service. The professional overcut my dog’s nail causing two nails bleeding. And they tried to hide instead of telling us the truth. Not only charged me an unreasonable amount but did a terrible job. They didn’t even finish the nail trimming job. Will never go back there again and definitely not recommend it.
I dropped my dog off this morning. They expired the process and what the bill would be then, when they called me for pick up this morning my bill was literally double and the girl who had an extreme attitude told me the same thing they explained this morning expect the price was double. I literally will never use this vet again.
I keep trying to take my dog here or purchase meds from them on Saturdays but they are not open. I tried again today to get a Saturday appointment but theyre closed AGAIN! Guess thats where the value comes comes in. They save you money by not being open.
Will never go back again. Not only were they not knowledgeable enough based on their decisions, they both overdosed and caused unnecessary injury to my cat.First, they drew blood from the inner back leg as opposed to the front. The vets reasoning: she stated that she has trouble getting a vein on the front leg (she never tried the front legs, nor did she hit the veins on the first try btw).Second, she not only drew blood from one leg, but both and 2 vials worth (this was just a regular check up). Not only did she draw from both legs but I actually witnessed her pulling on the plunger over and over to force blood out. I was not happy about this and my cats legs were bruised and tender for some time after.Third, my cat does not do well with the vet and needs a little sedation to calm him. Well, they completely overdosed him that he still had trouble with balance the next day and he didnt fully recover for 2 days. Not to mention that they used only 1 drug as opposed to a cocktail, which is the preferred.I took a chance due to economic constraints, though I will not make that decision again. Would not recommend if you truly care about your animal.
They told me over the phone that my new puppy’s vaccine would be under 20$ so I went there thinking it was the cheapest to go to but I got the bill after only having 20$ on me and the bill was 105$. Idk what they had to add on bc there’s nothing wrong with my dog but it was all unnecessary and I don’t recommend going there. Am not going back myself.
The very best experience with a vet in Bellevue. The staff is wonderful & you will not find better, or more knowledgeable & caring veterinarians anywhere.
Where to begin...these people provided us with affordable, compassionate, judgment-free care and advice for our 17-year old pup. They were exactly what we needed, when we needed it to help our aging dog transition gracefully and comfortably to the end of her life. When we finally had to visit an emergency after hours clinic to end her suffering, the incredible employees at Value Vet took the time to send us a heartfelt card expressing their sympathy for our loss. They did not need to do that, but it was such a lovely gesture that helped ease our grief. If we ever decide to adopt a new pet, Value Vet in Bellevue will certainly be our veternarian of choice!
My first dog passed away TWO DAYS after taking her to Value Vet. The doctor misdiagnosed her seizures for probably pulled a muscle in her back - two days later, she has a grand mal seizure in the middle of night and passes. Value Vet was completely unsympathetic and denied any responsibility in misdiagnosis. That was two years ago..My fault but I gave Value Vet a second chance when we got our new dog (they ARE the most affordable). On May 29th, I took my dog in for constant itching - they administered an anti-itch shot. They also said, While youre here lets just knock out her one year shots. One of them will be about 6 months early but lets just do it - they didnt mention the possibility of an adverse reaction to all of this medicine in one day. HOURS later, my dog is shaking uncontrollably and looks like shes about to have a seizure. I rush her to the emergency vet (Blue Pearl in Nashville) and they tell me - quote, With Value Vet, you get what you pay for. They shouldnt have given her all of that in one day. I called Value Vet and they tell me someone will be calling me back that day to discuss. Four days later, I receive a call from someone in the call center who says they did nothing wrong and theyre happy to send me my paperwork so I can go elsewhere. I ask to talk to someone else. The hospital administrator, Robin Griffin, calls me and is UNBELIEVABLY RUDE! I was trying to explain what happened and she cut me off multiple times and even said, I know you want a refund but its not going to happen. (Side note: I dont care about the $37 office visit cost... its not about money!) She said, I know youre just trying to work your way up and GET YOUR WAY but Im going to tell you how its going to be.. youre not getting a refund. I was literally shell shocked at how rude, abrupt and aggressive she was! I am not one to leave reviews (especially negative ones) but I am beyond disgusted with the lack of care for my pets and lack of customer service from Value Vet. Unbelievably unprofessional. In the words of Blue Pearl, I hate to say this but... you get what you pay for with Value Vet.
Horrible customer service and because of that I wont be taking my animals there. If you cant treat me like a VALUED customer then you dont get my business.
The team at Value Vet was awesome!!! I did not have an appointment but they saw the urgency in my Cookies health. They definitely won my business today. Highly appreciated and impressed.
My dog is not the best of patients but the friendly staff at value vet in Bellevue took great care of us. We were able to get an appointment last minute and it took us very little time to get in and out. I am so grateful to the staff for making us their top priority and would gladly go back.
This place does not honor their hours. Always understaffed and ran poorly. Waste of time dealing with these people. Find someone else to spend your hard earned money on.
Great prices, great tech, completely checked out vet. My wife and I don’t even know the vets name. And never even asks questions about the dogs, let alone even talks to us when we are there. It is important to be welcoming but also important to have people skills to find out more about your patients (the dogs). Cannot keep track of our records online properly and we have missed vaccinations, etc as a result of what they TOLD us in person. In one instance, my dog had stomach issues and the vet came in, physically examined him without saying a word or asking a single question, then left! They then prescribed him without discussion $209 worth of meds that the tech brought over. Horrible customer service. Non-existstant, in fact.
Baby Kitty and I love value vet! The facility is impressive as are the staff and Dr.s. The Dr.s listen to my concerns, examined BK and give me a detailed explaination of what they were seeing, my treatment options and related costs without making me feel like a bad pet parent. They followed up with emails and phone calls. 5 Stars for Value Vet!
This vets office gave my dog antibiotics which she had an allergic reaction to. I tried and tried to talk someone, but was put off everytime. Finally when her ears had swollen and turned extremely red I called again to ask if i could bring her in. I was told by the representative that answered that I had been calling A LOT I told him that they had hurt my dog and wouldnt follow up with me or tell me what to do. That they were supposed to be my vet so of course I was. I then was told that they could see me Friday... this was on Monday. I hung up and said Id find someone else. I called Richland Animal Clinic and was seen immediately. Of course Value Vet had called and offered to c me that day. I now have ZERO trust in this office. I spent nearly $1000 trying to fix their mistake which initially cost me $120! This vet is about money, not helping your animal. Please dont go here...
Molly is 17 and a great pal! The folks at Value Vet in Bellevue have taken care of her for 5 years since we moved to Bellevue. We know it is time to just keep her comfortable...our walks are shorter, but the love is just as strong!
I was pleased with the people but my quote of $35 ended up being near $700. Annual shots but no rabbies shot. Had teeth cleaning and they took blood work and said she had infection and needed antibiotic. Very costly.
Ill be honest when I heard the name I was very worried that it might not be the right place to take my cats. I cant say enough nice things about the team of vets on staff at this location. They genuinely cared about my cats and my concerns and I will definitely be back. Thanks for being so helpful and kind!!
There are not many things I regret in life, but I do regret going to the Value Vet in Bellevue. Twice. Ugh.The first time, we went in for a standard check-up, and they told me that my dog most likely had a very deadly dog pneumonia, and the only way to solve this was to pay +$300 in testing. When the tests came back, they told us that she didnt have dog pneumonia. The second time (i.e. one month later), I went in because I had to pull a tick out of her ear and noticed she was a bit sluggish and thought maybe she needed some medication. The vet told us that this time we needed to spend +$500 and recommended that we get pet insurance. This time, I refused to pay that much money, and the vet wouldnt let it go. She even threatened that if I didnt pay for all of these treatments that our dog would have to be hospitalized. I only took the medication for the tick treatment, used it, and now, my dog is back to normal. Hmmm. The qualifications of these vets at Value Vet are questionable, and they are clearly out for your money. If you get the Asian woman who just moved here from California, RUN. She will sit you in a room and harass you into paying more money for unnecessary treatments for your dog for an hour. It was a very intimidating experience that I never want to have again. You couldnt pay me to come back to this place.
Friendly staff and they are so great with the Pets. Love the a la carte pricing method. I was given several options at varying prices and able to choose the ones within my budget and still get exceptional care for my cat.
If you base it off of staff and service, its 5 stars all around. However, advertising value and charging $50 for micro-chipping, I learned is not a value. I found it for $15 locally at Tractor Supply the very next day. To me, thats a little too much of a hike in price. Tractor Supply also does the registration and takes care of everything for you. I will go back, because, like I said the staff and service is great...just watch the pricing and do some comparison before saying yes. Just because it has value in the title, doesnt mean youre actually getting a good value.
I called and spoke with Amber at the front desk, this is my local Value Vet and I have been there several times within the last year. She was incredibly rude, placed me on multiple waits that were extensive and refused to share information with me about my pets bc my wife hadent authorized me on the account. I have never had anyone throw this many stones in my wheel, especially when I am trying to schedule a regular check up. She mocked me when I asked to speak with her superior so I decided to express make my opinion within the community via a google review.
I can not believe what just happened. My cat was attacked by something causing area on side to become infected and oozing pus. I called for appointment today as she clearly needs urgent treatment. I was told no appointments today or tomorrow but Wednesday! I asked the young lady if I could be worked in as my cat needed medical attention now and now Wed. She apologized but said she was sorry but no appointments. She would be happy to see if any of the other locations had appointments today. I have taken my cat to this location before so its not a new patient. Needless to say I am extremely upset for the lack of care this facility projects.
The staff at value vet are amazing!! they were very compassionate when i lost my cat. They took really great care of him, they went above and beyond call of duty towards my pet . I would Highly recomend Value Vet Bellvue to everyone
I want to take a minute and give a HUGE thank you to the Dr and technicians at Value Vet in Bellevue. Our beloved 14 yr old lab Harley woke up this morning and no longer could use his back legs. This has been a long time coming, so we knew we were going to have to put him down. My wife and I were devastated. The love and care that the Dr and the vet tech showed us and our baby boy was beyond measure. You had one opportunity to make an impression on us and you knocked it out of the park. I will be taking all of my pets to you from now on. Thank you so much for making a terrible day just a tiny bit easier to deal with.
They took care of my protective girl for her annual after we moved to this area. They treated us with the utmost respect and care. Will be returning with my new puppy!
Friendly, helpful, and affordable. Thanks for making it easier to properly care for our four pets!
Dont waste your time and money. They charge for everything a la carte, so you end up spending more. Not pet friendly. Save yourself the trouble, and go to a REAL vet.
Very caring vet and especially vet techs.
They overcharged on everything!! It would have been cheaper going to a regular VET. They did the full body examination for $35 less than 5 min.
