I accidentally ran over my 6 month old toy poodle with a John deer gator and it caused him to have pulmonary contusion in his lungs and he was having issues breathing and foaming at the mouth and I brought him here and the vet seemed to know exactly what he needed and Josie was absolutely amazing. I called numerous times during the night and she gave me details and sweet and kind reports and even handled me a human and my emotions and anxiety so well. Josie and the rest of the team took great care of my baby and he survived. I can’t thank them enough and I can’t thank Josie enough for her kindness and empathy and professionalism. Thank you. They were fantastic! My dogs got in a fight last night and they could tell I was shaken up over the phone. They were calm, reassuring, willing to repeat info for me. The techs were fantastic especially since my dog couldnt walk and shes about 55lbs. They vet was very calm and reassuring with me, walked me through the entire process, listened to me ramble as people do when theyre anxious. I wish I could remember the techs name and the vets name! Hopefully Ill never have to go there again but at least I know theyre good if I do.

I can’t thank BluePearl in Nashville enough for everything they did for our Goldendoodle. Dr. Smith, Nicole, and the whole team went above and beyond in caring for Winston. Thank you so much for taking care of my boy and for all the late night bandage changes!

The staff here is fantastic. They took the time to listen to our situation and actually identified things that were also concerning as our dog ate some bad stuff. We called as soon as we got here and within 10 minutes they took him in. As expected, treatment took some time but they were very up front about what they would be doing, and financially what we would be looking at. The vet gave us some treatment options and what the ballpark cost would be for each. Thank you to this staff for caring for our dog!

Last Saturday, my wife tripped on our underfoot seven week old Boxer puppy. We were concerned that his leg was broken. We spoke to Blue Pearl and they sai to bring him in. Being Saturday they were very busy. Staff came out to the car to take him in for vitals. She said she’d have in out in 5 minute. When she came back out him, she told us it would be a long wait to see the vet, but because he was a puppy, while taking his vitals, she grabbed one of the vets to give him a look. They felt, correctly, that his leg was just bruised and not broken. By the time we got home he was jumping around the way Boxers do! The was no charge from Blue Pearl for checking our pup out. They were professional and caring. Hope I don’t need this type of service again, but if I do it will be Blue Pearl!

I went at 9:30 at night and the techs and doctor were alert, kind, caring, and compassionate. One of the techs even had the same breed as mine! I was visiting with a friend and her dog became very ill, apparently she accidentally ingested chocolate my friend called this pet hospital first and they alluded to the fact that my friend purposely poisoned her baby and intentionally gave her baby illegal substances! It was very sad to witness hence my friend was pleading for help and the receptionist/associate would not focus on the dog but instead kept assuming my friend was doing something to harm her pet. Yesterday was my first time vising an emergency vet with my dog and BluePearl was the first one I could find open. Dr. Smith was so nice and clearly explained what she found, instructions for the medicine she was prescribing and the next steps I needed to do as a follow up with my primary vet. Great customer service from the whole team including the sweet tech helping with curbside, took only about an hour total from check in to vitals/evaluation to check out and the price was about what I expected. My husband called because we had dropped a pill and he ate it before we could stop him, we just wanted to make sure the medication wasnt dangerous. The receptionist informed him he would have to call pet poison control line. Which was going to charge us $75 to speak to someone. When I asked him if he told the receptionist that our dog has been a previous patient he said no. I had called another after hours vet and they stated that because my dog had never been a patient there that legally they could not give me medical advice. I understood their reason,, because it was explained to me, they suggested calling a clinic that he had been a patient at before. So, I called Blue Pearl back hoping that being a previous patient would make a difference and allow us to speak with a vet. When the receptionist answered the phone I explained that my dog had been a previous patient at blue pearl and explained the situation. She was extremly rude and told me that she had already told my husband to call the poison line. I just wanted some advice and reassurance. If it had been emergent I would have immediately brought him in for care. However, there was no compassion or understanding from the receptionist just rudeness. I will not be a customer at this location. Receptionist are the first point of contact for people who are concerned and fearful for their pets life after hours. Blue Pearl should make sure their receptionist are more understanding and compassionate towards their customers.

It was very quick and easy to get my dog seen by the vet. Their covid procedures are very easy: they just take your dog inside and then call and update you along the way. The vet was very sensitive to costs and outlined several scenarios to see what kind of testing I was comfortable with, and giving me an idea of the costs of the different options. I ended up not spending too much money (considering it is an after-hours emergency vet which will never be cheap) and sent us with a detailed plan and all the meds we needed. They even called and updated my regular vet with my dogs condition and treatment. This is my second experience with BluePearl and Ive always received excellent care here.

Took my baby after several days of snow because of some really concerning diarrhea. They were the only vet without a 4-5 hour wait and opened during the snowfall. Our entire trip took about 2.5 hours, they did her blood work, gave her some fluids and sent us home with some medication. They referred to her as “your baby” the whole time which just goes to show how much they love pets. I was skeptical because I saw some iffy comments but my pup is doing much better the next day and I’m very glad we went! Her entire trip was about $575.00 (but I got the optional blood work which was a bulk of the cost) they were very up front with costs.

We had a very good experience at Blue Pearl in Nashville this weekend. Our dog had back to back seizures on Saturday. Our primary vet is closed on the weekend, so we called Blue Pearl. They answered immediately and recommended that we come right away.We called again when we arrived in the parking lot and again they were very efficient. We could see by the number of cars in the parking lot that it was busy. We were checked in over the phone and then told they would contact us shortly to admit our dog.Within 10 minutes, they called and told us to meet them at the gate with our dog. We did and they took him in.We received a call shortly thereafter giving us an update about treatments. We then received a call from the Doctor (Smith I believe). She was very thorough and detailed about what they had done and about his prognosis. He was kept overnight and in the morning we received another call from the doctor saying that we could pick him up.Again, we were very pleased with the entire experience even though, as expected, the news was not good for our dog. Yes, it was a bit expensive, but that is normal for an ER scenario, humans or pets.Thank you for taking care of our Rollo.

We owe everything to the incredible team at BluePearl on 12th Ave. A freak accident caused the most traumatic night of our lives - we rushed Barkley in with a lacrosse ball lodged in his throat, blocking his airway almost completely. They rushed him in, no questions asked, the second we pulled up. The doctor and staff on duty at BluePearl worked for a significant amount of time to remove the ball, and were ultimately successful in a nearly impossible situation. They provided clear, consistent, and kind updates throughout the night on his progress as he came out of anesthesia - watching very closely for brain damage due to the lack of oxygen. We appreciated the direct updates from the doctor herself, and later, the exciting and heartfelt encouragement from the staff as Barkley came around and started to respond. We felt confident that they were comforting him as much as humanly possible throughout the night. They were also completely transparent with pricing - we told them to do whatever they needed to do in order to save him, yet they still continued to keep us posted on prices and reasoning behind further testing prior to going forward with anything. When we picked him up the next morning, we were so pleased to see they had also cleaned him up - something we werent necessarily expecting. They gave us very clear instructions on how to care for him, and took my anxious calls over the next few days in stride. Barkley is now healthy, happy, and back to his spunky pitbull self. Our lives are infinitely better because of this amazing animal hospital. We could never appropriately thank them.

Not only did the woman in the office blame me for my dogs death because I didnt get the imaging her previous doctor said she didnt really need, but picking up her ashes was much more of a disaster. The wrong ashes were given to the person picking them up. I received a very unprofessional call from this Blue Pearl to inform me of this. The woman did nothing to introduce herself but said, uhhhhhh you were right, and claimed she didnt have the correct contact information to contact the person picking up the ashes. Below is an email i sent to blue pearl regarding a past visit:My name is Travis Escobar and I visited the Blue Pearl animal hospital on October 6, 2019 with my dog Tyson. My reasons for visiting the vet Im sure are on record for you to review so I will not repeat that here. I do however, want to express how I felt regarding the way in which my dog and I were treated by those working at Blue Pearl that day.The first issue I have with this company is the outrageous price I had to pay for such simple procedures. You can look up my bill for the details but I paid over $800 for a couple of x-rays, an IV, and a general physical among other small procedures. To charge this amount of money for the services rendered is absolutely ridiculous. I expected to pay inflated prices due to the nature of your business but this much of premium is beyond comprehension. Not to mention that I spent 4 hours at the vet for these services to be rendered which would be somewhat understandable if I were one among many patients on site that day, but as far as I know, I was the only person there yet still waited far too long. So not only was I kept at your vet for an inordinate amount of time, I was required to pay as if you did me a favor by making me wait. However, I take issue with your practice for reasons beyond that of my wait time and the abhorrent prices I was charged. The doctor who I saw was Whitney Smith. Upon completing the examination of my dog, Dr. Smith informed me that my dog had an intestinal blockage, and he needed IMMEDIATE surgery as his life depended on it. She quoted the surgery as costing between $4,000-$5,000. Thankfully, I am not an idiot and know better than to believe that a simple 1 hour surgery of this type should not cost that much, even in Nashville. I told Dr. Smith about my hesitation to pay the price for this surgery but she continued to give the impression that this surgery had to be given that night or my dog would expire. In fact, Dr. Smith herself told me that my only other option was to put my dog to sleep or elect for surgery immediately. Dr. Smith left the room and I contacted my dogs breeder and he also found the price I was quoted to be outrageous, although this was not his exact language. After consulting with my dogs breeder, I decided the best option for my dog was to wait until the morning and bring him to a vet that would perform the surgery at a fair and reasonable price. When I notified Dr. Smith of my decision, she acted like I was sentencing my dog to death and required me to sign papers acknowledging that the vet had no liability for my decision to go against her advice. The next morning I left with Tyson to see a vet and what would you know, the state of my dogs health was exaggerated greatly by that of Dr. Smith. Tyson was saved with no issues of the kind that Dr. Smith claimed to be likely as a result of my decision to postpone surgery by roughly 10 hours. So I am writing this email to let you know that I think your establishment is a joke of a vet operation and I hope to never have the misfortune of walking through your doors again. And I hope all those I tell of this story will avoid your operation like the plague it is. If I were to have listened to Dr. Smith, my dog would be dead because I could not have afforded that surgery. I decided to go with my gut and it was a great decision as my dog is 100% healthy and it cost me a WHOPPING $650 for the entire surgery and hospital stay of two nights. Yes that is right $650 total cost for saving my dogs life. The fact that I was not even encouraged to seek out other options to save my dogs life by Dr. Smith, is in my opinion, a disgrace. It hurts to imagine the number of animals that are no longer breathing due to the diagnoses and recommended treatment given to those who have relied on Dr. Smith and Blue Pearl for sound advice. I consider myself lucky to still have my dog and consider it my duty to other caring pet owners to share my experience with Blue Pearl in the hopes they may avoid the tragedy my dog nearly succumbed to.

When we got there, before I handed them my precious baby boy I was sobbing over, she said It will be $500 for CPR. I didnt know what to say except, please save him. I was in such a state of shock it didnt process that this was my greeting. When I was informed that he had already passed away, we came in to say goodbye. This time a different tech came in and handed us a sheet of paper with information and prices at the bottom. At this point, my partner and I are sobbing uncontrollably. Neither of us has experienced such a sudden and accidental death. We are both in shock. The prices at the bottom of the page are insane; $600 for cremation, $325 for the returning of the body, among other things. Remember, we had just come in here. Like 2 minutes ago. After a couple minutes of saying goodbye to the most amazing kitten that ever was, we decide to take his body and leave, without paying their prices. I didnt tell my partner what their prices were because he would have screamed at the otherwise nice tech who informed us of his passing.I understand that they are running a buisness, but if you are handed a dead kitten by a distraught owner, you dont charge them $135 for a consultation. Were doing at home burial which was 0$ on their sheet, so yeah. While i am glad we were able to be seen immedietly, I cannot believe the prices, nor the dead pan receptionist. And yes, when we saw the price sheet we left immedietly. Our lovely smart talented kitten whos life was cut short by my careless door closing. I will never forgive myself, and regret Bluepearls capitalist response to his end.

The vet and vet tech were so helpful and were very upfront about costs and their opinions on what we should do. They weren’t pushy about anything and you could tell they were very genuine in their approach. Although it’s expensive, that’s nothing I can complain about. They are medical doctors and the bottom line is that medical practice (whether it be on a person or an animal) is expensive. They took care of our sweet pup and had her out of there within an hour. I would definitley recommend to anyone with an emergency who is unable to take their pets to their primary vet!

Great and caring staff! Our dog had food bloat when we brought her in. They gave us all the options and let us think through them. They had to put her under anesthesia for her procedure but they called as soon as it was over to tell us how it went. They even let us come back and love on her afterwards. They had to keep our Journey overnight but they loved on her just like she was at home. We are so grateful to everyone that helped us. Thank you Dr. Phelps and staff!!

I took my cat in for a broken toenail. It wasn’t emergent but I wanted to be sure he was ok and I couldn’t calm down. They wrapped him up and let me know he’d be ok, just to watch it for a bit. The doctor was very sweet to me! The practice manager gave me a few options, and got us on our way. They made my stressful night so much better and for my best friend a clean bill of health. I have been here before under a different ownership. This visit seemed much better!

I just wanted to thank you all for being so professional and caring during a very hard time for our family. Our dog was involved in an accident and the staff worked quickly to assess our loved one. Once it was decided that she would have to be euthanized, they worked hard to make sure our dog was comfortable, allowed us time, and handled our baby with the upmost respect.I am very thankful that you all work the hours you do and kept our dog from suffering.Thank you,Missys Mom

I brought my dog there with complications of a UTI and blockage to the point she couldnt pass any urine. I found the staff including the vet to be very caring and professional. They discussed several options to help her overnight until I could take her to her regular vet. They did discuss cost but presented so I could make an informed choice. I found them to be very helpful and informative regarding follow up care and things I should address with my regular vet. I highly recommend them

I am very grateful that we were referred to this clinic for my dog. I had a scary emergency with her, and she has been a beloved family pet for 13 years. I was terrified, and they saw us immediately and the vet was so gracious and nice. The cost was very reasonable too, and the entire office staff were very nice. I am so glad to know this service is here, and glad to know I can use them again if I need to. I highly recommend them.

Such kind, compassionate care when we needed it most. We brought our suffering dog in late on a Saturday night, and the amazing employees at Nashville Pet Emergency Clinic wasted no time to ease her pain. When we finally made the decision to let our 17-year old dog go, the staff at this clinic were calm, compassionate, and so incredibly understanding. They made one of the most difficult, heart-breaking decisions weve ever had to make as painless as possible for us. We cannot thank you enough for taking such care with our sweet baby.

Sunday evening around 6pm our very very ill 10 year old cat showed up at our door after missing for a day (we thought she took off to pass away somewhere). She looked miserable and we had agreed as a family to take that pain away 😢. We drove from Clarksville to 12 South. The staff was so so amazing, from the first step into the clinic to our Kips last breath. They were compassionate, sweet and overall just phenomenal. We thank you for making our last evening with our Kip special. Thank you.

Please use another emergency vet besides this one for your animal. My cat was hit by a car in his back area, and it was strongly recommended by the staff at this office that I euthanize him immediately. I felt pressured to take this course of action, as the staff member repeatedly told me she was a Hospice Vet, and judged when I did not choose this. The staff stated that they would forward the Report and x-rays that I paid for to my vet, but did not forward the Report until 5 days later, and never forwarded the x-rays. Eight days later my cat is now thriving: eating well and walking without challenge. Please, please consider another option for your pet.

Last night was an extremely difficult night for me. I am out of state for Christmas and a friend is babysitting my furbabies. My sweet boy got loose and was hit by a car. From the moment she had to call and inform me of the details, Dr. Williams was nothing short of amazing. When I offered my credit card over the phone, she said we can get that taken care of after I get your baby taken care of. NEVER did she make me feel that money was more important than my baby. Although, I lost my baby, Dr Williams brought me much comfort. I know that my precious boy was not scared and alone; he was surrounded by peoole who truly cared. When Dr. Williams had to tell me the dreadful news, I could tell she was fighting back tears. Thank you Dr Williams!!

They allow animals to suffer so they can keep them barely alive to charge $100 an hour to pad the bill. Furthermore, they charge you $100.00 for miscellaneous. What the heck ismmiscellaneous and how do you know miscellaneous is $100.00. A little 6 1/2 week old Yorkie puppy who we thought was on the road to wellness died in my arms and they wanted to keep him another 2 days and charge $2000.00 more above the 1347.00 I had paid for just 24 hours of pure torture to that puppy. The puppy was dying when I got there and the vet tech said he had been breathing like that off and on all day. Really???? They didnt even notice that he had lost all of his blood. His gums were solid white. I was paying for 24 hour care and you dont notice that. I guess not when all you had in your sights was money!

This place is awful! On New Year’s Day my 5 month old puppy got hit by a truck. My local vet was closed so we rushed him here. Before we got there we called explained what happened so they could be prepared. When we got there the very nice secutary was worried about his breathing and took him to the back. After a minute or two she brought him back and said the doctor thinks he looks fine and stable he can sit here and wait with you. Mind you all she did was look at his breathing nothing more. After 3 hours in the waiting room, YES 3 HOURS!!! We was seen. Come to find out he had a fractured hip & pelvic! So he sat there for hours in pain & not one of them people cared! I should’ve left earlier, but I was hoping they would hurry! It was my fault on that. Now after paying them $419.00 for a x-ray & pain meds I have to pay another vet bill because he had to be admitted into my local vet because they never cared to check for internal bleeding! These people don’t care for the animals & only want your money! I will NEVER take my animals back to them!! NEVER!!

After receiving this review, the practice manager and the vet both called to apologize. After talking to both of them, I do feel that this experience was an not a reflection of the care they normally provide. I am sure they will use this experience as a learning opportunity, and that no one else will have the same experience we did. Thanks Christy and Dr. Williams for reaching out.My bluetick coonhound split his tail open this evening. We loaded him up, called ahead, and headed to the clinic. It was about 11pm. Once at the clinic, the tech checking is in would not hear anything about my boy until we paid the $89 fee. Once that was paid, we brought him in to be examined. Upon checking in, I told the vet (still don’t know her name as she didn’t introduce herself) that he was very anxious at the vet, and that he had to be approached gently and sometime snarls/growls when he’s in pain. I could hear him yelling in the back, and then they asked me to put the muzzle on him. Once he was muzzled, I could still hear him yelping from stress and pain. They got his tail bandaged, and came out to tell me the course of treatment. During that time, they mentioned they wanted a cone on him, and took him back to try to put one on. He got upset, and ended up making his tail bleed again. Once again they asked me to muzzle him, but at this point he was so overwhelmed and upset he was losing it with me. Finally I suggested they sedate him, and they developed a course of action. We waited and waited and were told we could sit with him while they fixed his tail. About ten minutes later the vet tech came out and said that we could not sit with him becuase he was dangerous, and that she “had to give him more sedative so she didn’t have to euthanize him for biting her”. This of course upset me greatly and was highly unprofessional- especially after telling me he was “beyond pain and fear and was dangerous and needed to see a behaviorist.”After the reversed the sedative, we got to see him and he still didn’t have the cone on. The male tech said he was still trying to “attack them” even while sedated, so they only did the bandage. However when we entered the room, he wasn’t even moving except for breathing. Finally another tech came and gave us his meds, and discharge instructions, and after asking if the vet was coming back to see us was told no and I felt like we were being pushed out of the door. She kept saying that they would not touch him again and how terrible of a dog he was. I finally told her that repeating that doesn’t help anyone and that I warned them about his behavior at the vet, and that they are the professionals. Overall it turned into a very overwhelming and upsetting event. I know my dog isn’t perfect, but I also feel like they did not use the tips/resources we gave them and was not satisfied with their lack of professionalism- especially the comment about euthanizing my dog.

DONT take your animals here!!! My dog was 6 months old and having seizures. They were cold and would not let me in the room to check her out. I want to pay for them to run some test as I waiting but they refused to allow me to stay and wait for the results they wanted to start aggressive seizure medicine that couldve killed her if it wasnt needed and would call me in the morning......... Why not run the test and then treat? My dog was having the seizures in the room while Beth Chapman was talking to me and would do nothing while it was happening. 2 hours later and still cold as ice. I called a friend I knew sent her a video of what my dog was doing and she said she needed to eat. I bought a tube of nutri-cal from the vet put it on my finger she licked it off and immediately stop have seizures. A qualified vet wouldve known that. It was all about the money........ Please BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!! My dog is hypoglycemic and is two years old, healthy, happy and alive. I truly believe had I left her with them that night she wouldnt be here today.

DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE. They brushed us off so quickly and spent more time giggling in the back like 6th graders while my pet was put under for an x-ray than actually helping. I brought my 2 year old cat in who was in a lot of pain (back pain). The vet (if he is even an actual vet) said he hurt his back somehow, so give him these pain meds and he will be ok - I had to BEG to get an x-ray taken of my cat just to make sure, got the x-ray done and doctor said all looked normal. I took my cat home and then to our actual vet the next day and the first thing the vet noticed was an enlarged kidneys. He was SHOCKED the vet at the emergency clinic didnt catch it. He was looking at the SAME XRAY the clinic provided. They didnt even think to run blood work, which was the first thing my actual vet did. They wanted him in and out of there so fast, so they could get back to whatever they were doing in the back (mind you, we were the only ones in the entire clinic). Turns out my cat was in kidney FAILURE. Had I not gone to my real vet I would have given my cat the pain meds prescribed by emergency clinic and would be dead. He is currently being treated now on fluids and antibiotics. It breaks my heart to know how many other animals have come here and been misdiagnosed - Please, PLEASE, DO NOT bring your pets here. These people are 100% incompetent, it breaks my heart they work with animals.

I have a boxer that contacted leptospirosis. My veterinarian at Southside animal hospital was letting me bring him home at night with an IV bag and antibiotics to try to keep him from slipping to the other side.I got my dog home the other night and the IV was clogged with a blood clot and he needed a new line. I called Blue Pearl and explained to them my situation and the urgency to keep a constant fluid flow in his body to help him stay alive.,Not only did they agree to help me, the receptionist up front stayed on the phone with me, entered all of my information on the computer and checked me in while I was in route. We were in and out in around 30 minutes with a new line ready to go. I have had experiences that were bad with other emergency vets in this town, if you are reading this, I advise you to use these people above all others.I want these people to know that I am very thankful for them and extremely happy with their service.
