I love Sanctuary Salon! It has a very neighborhood feel even though it is in the middle of downtown. I have been going to Cage for years. He is the best. He is an amazing stylist and a great person to talk with and get to know. I highly recommend Sanctuary Salonspa.

Cage is an experienced and thoughtful stylist. Always asks for my preferences and makes sure I am happy with the end result. Love it that he is always looking at new trends and training to provide high quality services.

Let me first say BOOK WITH HANNAH! Now this. Today was my first visit to the salon. Upon my arrival I was welcomed warmly by the gentleman working the front desk. I was kindly greeted by my stylist Hannah at the time of my appointment. Hannah was professional, knowledgeable and engaged in the best conversation. She did a fantastic job on my hair and I am actually very particular about my cuts. My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the forcefulness and insistence of the other front desk employee that Hannah push to sell me a product I clearly was not in need of. This one was new and they were taking pre orders. I already had over $200 in product in Hannah’s arms. The other female employee’s attitude and demeanor made me uncomfortable even after the awkward exchange. I hope this is an isolated situation and that my next visit will be met with less intimidation of young stylists and uncomfortable check outs.

I absolutely adore Sanctuary SalonSpa!! Everyone there is so nice and caring. They genuinely go the extra mile to ensure their clients are comfortable. They also do a fantastic job with hair. I’ve gotten a couple of balayages here and I’ve loved them so much!! I go to Hannah and I just love her!!

Tom does a great job styling and cutting my hair! The salon is very clean and sanitized! They take your temp and all wear masks!

I would really like to bring to your notice about Sarah(Manager at Downtown Minneapolis location) . She exploited me with the need for extra money by charging a fee of $50 without any service. I have placed a complaint to her senior manager, but no action has been taken . Recommend not to go this location Sanctuary salon. Very bad treatment to the customers and man handling of customers.

I had a wonderful experience at the Sanctuary Salon in Minneapolis last Saturday. The team there was very accommodating as I needed to have hair and make up done before 3pm. They worked hard and adjusted in order to due so with no complaints or hesitation. V was amazing and I was extremely happy with my hair. Cage and Gabe did my make up, I wanted the natural look and they nailed it! Also they were all very personable and we had some good laughs. Based on my experience and the feedback from my evening on how I looked I will be going back for my wedding hair and make up.

The Holidays are coming and Im writing this as a buyer beware. Do not buy giftcards from their online website. You cannot use them at Sanctuary and youll end up with a giftcard that can only be used at Aveda. Desiree who is the manager was no help nor was corporate because all sales are final. I have been going to this salon for years and loved my stylist and spent on average at least $250 every time I went in and now they have completely lost me as a customer.

I absolutely loved my experience here! Tamora is a queen at making eye brows look great and addressing skin care concerns. Michael made my hair look amazing while having a great conversation. Aveda exudes professionalism and knowledge of what they do. Their vast knowledge led to a great product choice for my hair. They werent at all pushy about selling products and really let me know what could be best if I chose to buy some. I will definitely be going back!!!

I had my hair done by Taylor and she did an amazing job and was so nice! Im so happy with how it turned out. The salon itself was very nice and relaxing. I will definitely be back.

Wow! My husband and I had a couples massage, and it was lovely. Very personable staff... from greeting to end. Bonus: the womens bathroom has a lovely shower so you can rinse the oils off your body after. Compared to other Mpls spas, its better: warm and friendly, convenient location, posh, soft robes, and an overall solid value.

Sara and her team did a PHENOMENAL job getting my friend and I all ready for an upcoming vacation! They were able to schedule us for manis, pedis, cuts, colors, facials, massages and make up fun all in the same day. It was a long day at the salon but every single person we interacted with was beyond kind, pleasant and super accommodating! Will definitely be back -Sara, Vi, and Cage were some of the highlights of our day! Definitely recommend!

I love this salon, they always try to work with my husband and me when scheduling our hair cuts and pedicures, we have frequently forgot our appointments or had to reschedule and the staff is just so kind about it. Cage is our favorite stylist ever, he is so experienced for such a young person and he LISTENS when I talk about what Im looking for in a haircut and style. He frequently offers ideas on how I could style my hair differently and hes never pushy. He doesnt try to push product on me either but he has steered me towards hair care products that have done wonders for my thinning hair. I appreciate that and all the little extras from the salon, the hand massages, the samples of new products, etc. Just all around nice people working there and the atmosphere is relaxing, low soft music and nice aromas.

Good couples massage, but they apparently had a mixup with booking and our appointment was 30 minutes late to start. That would have been fine but no one told us what was happening, so I couldnt really relax thinking they had forgotten about us.

I have been getting my hair done with Taylor for almost 5 years now! She knows how to work with my hair type and always listens to my needs. She is very confident and great in what she does ! I know I can count on her for making my hair look great.

I went to this salon twice for a haircut(saw the same guy both times). The first time it was okay, the second time was terrible. He seemed like he was having a bad day so everything was done with little effort and he skipped many things that he did on my first visit (hot towel, head massage etc). My hair came out looking worse than it did when I went in and I somehow left with more split ends.I have also been getting waxing services done here and Lindsey is AMAZING (the only reason I continue to go back to this salon and my reason for the higher rating). I almost dont want to say how amazing she is because she is already so busy with appointments and it can be tricky getting in to see her, but I figured she deserves the credit. She is quick, super friendly and very knowledgeable about her trade. I made the mistake of seeing someone else when she was booked and that was an hour in hell. I dont know how the salon can have specialists on completely opposite sides of the spectrum because it creates a lot of inconstancy in quality. I have had my best and worst waxes here. If you cant get in with Lindsey dont go... youre welcome in advance.

Ive been getting my hair done by Cage for over three years now. He does a great job with my VERY difficult-to-cut hair and works very hard with me to make sure that Im happy every time! Ive never felt more confident with my hair!

I had my second pre-natal massage with Shay and was SUPER pleased again. You can tell she really knows her stuff and what your body needs! The ambiance is also very relaxing; I fell asleep briefly during a 90 min massage. A little spendy but SO worth it. I will be going back again whether for a prenatal or regular massage. The only thing is she ran over on time, which in some ways is nice and I think she was helping me out since she showed up late the first time (earliest booking time) and I showed up late the second (follow the Google maps pin not where it tells you to stop driving). So, if you are in a time crunch it takes away from your ability to relax a bit.

I’ve been seeing Cage for a couple of years now and couldn’t feel luckier that our paths crossed. The first time I saw him was two years ago when he worked wonders on my hair after a horrible experience at another salon. Here we are now a few years later and I’ve never been happier with my hair. I would recommend him to absolutely anyone and everyone. He is extremely talented and a day maker for sure. I look forward to our time together always!

Booked a facial with Lylia Lee at the Downtown location. The atmosphere was so relaxing. She explained everything she was doing and really listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. I was very comfortable with her. I left feeling like a new person and my skin looked and felt 10 years younger! Thank you for the amazing experience. I will definitely book with her again.

I had a massage from Shay and got my eyebrows done by the new esthetician, Tamora, and both were amazing.The environment is so relaxing -- with slippers, a fuzzy robe, and endless Aveda tea while you wait. I was very impressed by the treatments and would recommend to anyone!

It was my first professional hair dye, and the staff were very kind and professional. My stylist listened to my concerns & preferences, as well taking into consideration the condition of my hair. I left with a great cut & confidence.

The girl who was previously cutting my hair is no longer working so I was recommended another stylist. I always enjoy the service and overall experience at Sanctuary but Taylor my stylist seemed extremely distracted during the service and did not listen to my feedback on my part etc. When I went home my hair was extremely uneven as you can see below.

After a couple wrong turns, I came to Sanctuary Salonspa in downtown Minneapolis.Perfection, top to tail: the initial reservation process by phone: flawless; the welcome upon arrival was warm, genuine and effusive; fine tea and fresh cookies were profusely offered and re-offered; and my comfortable experience just in the waiting area would have been worth a few bucks easily.The services themselves were (according to my source who received them) blissful, professional in every manner, and in the beautiful manicure-pedicure services rendered was the priceless byproduct of seeing her look fantastic, feel fantastic and as happy as Ive seen her in years.Thank you to the entire team -- you understand customer service, you care about the happiness of your guests, and the quality of what you do sets the bar by which all others in this business may find difficult to reach.Bravo.

However, Jesse listened to me and genuinely cared, and I knew I was in good hands. He did a great job, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

I have been a regular monthly client of Michaels at Sanctuary since he began working there in August. From the moment I walk in the door where I have always been pleasantly greeted by those at the desk, I feel so pampered and spoiled. Initially, I went to Mike for a haircut and couldnt quite believe the royal treatment I received compared to stylists Ive gone to in the past at other salons. I decided after my experience with that first haircut that I wanted to keep coming back to Michael on a regular basis. Since he is a recent graduate of Aveda Institute in Minneapolis he has always seemed to me to be quite intent on doing a perfect job and ultimately aims to satisfy me as a client. I will admit that as he strives for that perfection, he may take a little longer than other stylists Ive gone to but I also rather like that he isnt in a big rush to get me done, get me out the door and on to his next client. It makes me feel special, not just another customer. Last Friday, I wanted and needed highlights and therefore made the appointment for not just a cut but the highlights as well. I have to say that the foil highlights he gave me were the best highlights Ive ever gotten. My previous stylist used to always use the cap method and a couple of times there were clumps of hair that were highlighted and looked very out of place. Since I didnt know the difference, I never questioned why that would happen. Now I do, though, because the foil job Michael did was so even and I couldnt be more pleased. If you are looking for a stylist that takes the time to give his customers special treatment as well as good styling then I would highly recommend Michael at Sanctuary. In this day and age of instant gratification, we often forget the importance of slowing down our pace and enjoying being in the moment. That is something I am reminded of when I am sitting in the chair at Sanctuary as Michael gives me a massage, or gently shampoos my hair. Cant wait until my next appointment!

I was in Minneapolis for work when I had that overwhelming I need my hair cut - now! feeling Im sure many women are familar with feeling at one time or another. The hotel conceriege recommended Sanctuary and I had a great experience. Katie was my stylist and she was nice to chat with and more importantly did a great job on my cut. If I were a local, Id definitely return to Sanctuary!

Worst hair experience of my life! I have long hair and the man did not know how to handle it gently. Combing it through with his hands he would just yank on any tangles.The head message to start did not even feel good because he was so rough. More importantly, I asked for a couple of long layers and he gave me many extremely shorter ones (7 inches shorter than my hair length!) It looks terrible and he did a sloppy job. A couple of days later I noticed a couple of random chunks that had been missed in the cut and I had to trim them myself. I asked and found out that just because a salon sells/uses all Aveda products does not mean the staff are trained there.
