The nails are beautiful but I got cut a bit deep with the emery board by my nail tech in a couple of spots—make sure to ask them to be gentle!

I showed up at Mahalo completely flustered because one of my nails (that I got done at another salon) broke 2 days prior to my wedding and hours before our rehearsal dinner. They didnt have the exact color, but worked with me to figure out a solution that looked amazing! Couldnt be more grateful for how accommodating they were and how quickly they helped me.

I got my nails done and they looked fantastic initially but literally 1 day later one nail chipped and then 3 days later another nail chipped. It’s annoyed because you pay $55 for a dip manicure to last at least 2 weeks. They offered to redo it but got upset that I didn’t have the warranty card (which is fair but I never knew they even gave me a warranty card as I don’t think anyone gave me a warranty card) so they gave me a super hard time about it and it made me too uncomfortable to even go back to get it fixed. Additionally, I don’t want it fixed for it to just chip once again - because it is a poor quality salon. I’ve literally never had a dip manicure chip, let alone after 3 days.

This is the best nail salon I have been to. Great quality service and gel polish that lasts 2 weeks every single time. This is the only place I will go from now on!

This place is the best. They check your temp and confirm youve not been exposed to anyone with Covid upon entering. Some of the best mani/pedis Ive had have been here. I doubt Ill go anywhere else. Everyone is super kind and friendly and the owner makes it a point to know his customers. Priced are higher but you pay for what you get!! This was a powder fill in ombre- Ombre is usually a bit more ($70) and a gel pedi ($50). Theres a lot of decent places around but if you want a quality mani then this is your spot. They also specialize in designs, but I typically keep it simple. Cant recommend it enough!!

This place has raised my standard. ive gone here consistently since moving to the city and they are SO kind and considerate. the owner gave me a warranty card on my last set of gel acrylics. (this hadnt happened before but like, so sweet). acrylic sets from here will stay in tact until removed by force. 😭💝

As a male with a lifelong nail biting problem I was very apprehensive to go to a nail salon. The technicians there were super welcoming, knowledgeable, skilled, non-judgemental, and I found there to be no language barrier. I enjoyed it so much and it helped IMMENSELY with my nail biting. I continued to go for an entire summer until I was able to completely kick my biting habit!

This is a 2.5 star rating. I got acrylics done here 5 days ago. The picture with the big gems is the picture I showed, asking for it to be like this but with gems that aren’t as big, and if it’s too difficult, a little similar. He ended up doing something that was of the same feel but not what I asked for. I asked for round nails and he gave me almond. My right hand middle finger nail has chipped and my right hand index finger nail is starting to lift and is on the verge of coming off but it’s only been less than a week. You can see the white things on my right hand but my left hand is perfectly fine. I didn’t take a picture of my right hand thumb but it’s also not shaped right(not a smooth shape and lopsided). I acknowledge I was around ten minutes late to my appointment but I don’t think these nails were worth $90, seeing that they’re already starting to fall apart. Customer service was good from some but a little bothering from others. I’m very grateful for the patience they had with me being late but having these nails fall apart after 5 days is disappointing. I didn’t even get a warranty card that their other customers get that says they can come back if something happens to their nails within 7 days.Edit: some gems on my left hand fell off a couple hours after I made this post,, I’ll add a photo.

Good if you’re in a rush and need your nails done very quickly. I got an acrylic fill with gel polish, which only took 25-30 minutes. Since the service was so rushed, the technician was a bit rough on my nails and didn’t do the best job with polish and fill. Overall, they don’t look bad, but overpriced for the rushed service.

Very friendly professionals! I called these guys (with no previously scheduled appointment) and they were able to squeeze me and my daughter in for us to have manis done, while we waited for the boys at the barbershop nearby. The shop was very clean and well organized. They were very patient with us when giving options on design and colors. They shared professional tips on how to maintain longer, healthy-looking cuticles as well!

Ive always had a great time at Mahalo. Ive been here about four times now and Ive always had a great experience. Its a very clean nail spa with very talented service providers. The staff are always very friendly and have been very helpful. The prices are reasonable and I have always been happy with my acrylics (Im quite particular). Today I got the lava stone pedicure with my mom for my 30th birthday, and it was absolutely delightful. Ill be back soon, and cant wait!

I loved the work they did with my nails. They had three different tech work on them, one for the fill and shape, another who was good at doing a fade and one who knew how to sculpt a design with acrylics.Note: bring cash for tipping as they wont let you add a tip using credit.

Mahalo is an amazing nail salon!! The technicians who work here are so talented, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I go every other week to get dipping powder, and each time they are super willing to work with me on nail art (pictures included 💞)

My all time fav nail salon. I’m very glad to go somewhere where they do a great job and have made serious accommodations for COVID. It does mean it’s a little tougher to get an appointment but I feel very safe when I am there.

My experience was great. I walked in around 5:30pm thinking that they wouldn’t be able to fit me in because it was a Saturday and that they would be extra busy. Yes, they were busy, but I was still able to get in for manicure. The man who greeted me was very nice and pleasant. I was asked to sit and and pick out a gel color while the next manicurist became available. Ken T was my manicurist and he was nothing short of amazing. He listened to me and gave me exactly what I wanted. I asked for almond shaped nails, he did it. He also took his time and paid attention to small details. He recommended I get dip powder instead of gel since I am growing my nails out. I am so happy I went with his suggestion. Although the color was not what I expected (the powder in the package looked pink with shimmer, but it turns out it was red with shimmer), I love my nails so much. I can’t wait for my next service with Ken!

I booked an appointment for my sister as a gift and I think Liam did my sister nails and they were soooo good and beautiful and lasted for about two weeks but the pedicure wasn’t that good and no it wasn’t the same person for the pedicure.

I love this place. Liam and Bee are my favorites. Clean work, huge color selection, kind people, judgement free. It is a little more expensive than others in the area, but worth every penny. Thanks guys! 🙏🏼

Would be 5, but they have NO signs of their pricing and they’re a little more expensive than I would like to spend. I got a fill with gel polish and it was $50. I had to ask the receptionist for a list of their prices, which he had to dig for....?? I looked and for me to get a full set of nails, would be around $70+. Just basic coffin shaped acrylic with gel coat, and yeah a little length. For that much I would expect designs and fancy stuff.Honestly the work was stellar though, my nails look fabulous, very clean. If you’re looking to spend some money, this is definitely the place.

Doris is soooooooooo nice and extremely talented! The gentleman at the front is very welcoming! The store is always clean, they follow health department recommendations to keep us safe. I wont go anywhere else!! Great value, great people, great place!

My first set I got done there was amazing! They lasted over a month and the guy spent a really long time doing my nails, which really appreciated that he took his time. but the second time I went there the lady was super quick, really aggressive with my nails and seemed irritated that my nails kept breaking because they were long. the reason I went there is because they’re supposed to be good at doing long nails so it was kind of frustrating that she was getting irritated and told me my nails were too long. They’re long but I saw girls with way longer nails there than I had. One of my nails broke within two days and she also got too close to the skin on my pinky, you can see the scab in the picture. Not sure if I will go there again.

Tom was amazing!Finding the perfect nail salon was the biggest struggle for me. I was unsatisfied with at least one thing at every nail salon I tried so I thought this salon was probably the same.I came in with a lot of requests knowing that Mahalo might not be able to do certain things. However my nail artist, Tom, never said no or try to make excuses once for any of them to me. He was professional and patient with me. I know that they dont get a lot of request to do 3d nail art (since they are on the pricey side) and they might not be able to practice them on a regular basis to perfect the skills but Tom truly did his best and accommodate for what I asked for.Definitely worth the money and definitely deserves the healthy tip.Im soooo thankful for Tom and they are, now, the ONLY nail place that I will go to from now on.

The men are very very good at what they do. Im talking Pinterest and other normalcy unobtainable Instagram photos good. Some Pinterest worthy nails will be a bit pricey since they call nails with multiple designs (I.e. Striped, gems, flowers, gold foil) custom nails so theyre custom priced. My manicure with custom design and acrylic fill was $75 and SO worth it. None of my gems fell off for an entire month. And theyre always so gentle with my hands. When he took old acrylics off to pit new ones on instead of ripping them off like other salons do he soaked them in acetone and it was pain free 100%. This is my go to nail salon from now on and forever.

My favorite nail salon in Minneapolis. Make an appointment ahead of time, they’re usually very busy and if you want to ensure you’ll have a chance to get taken care of, call ahead. (Especially in the summer and fall, I’ve found its a hot spot for people getting wedding nails done and they typically fill up fast)I’ve been going here for over a year for the dip manicures. They always do a great job, and are surprisingly speedy and decently priced.Best part about it, they have a parking lot behind the building, a rarity in the city. If you’re looking for a new salon in the cities/uptown areas, I’d recommend this place above others in the area!

I was so impressed this this salon. Ive been looking for one closer to my new apartment, and they gained another customer. I came in on a Sunday. They were relatively busy, but were still able to fit me in, and were very kind about it, but I would still recommend making an appointment. The nail tech was very kind and accommodating to what I asked for and gave me a gorgeous gel manicure in a short amount of time. I was impressed and delighted! The salon was clean and had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I will be recommending this salon to all my friends!

Mahalo Nail Spa is awesome and I will never get my nails done anywhere else! :) Firstly, I would highly recommend making an appointment with either Liam, Henry or Bee. Those three guys are my favorite nail technicians to work with (I am sure the rest of them are all wonderful too), and you will for sure walk out very satisfied if you go to them. Liam has the busiest schedule out of the three, but the wait time is well worth the work he does. Everyone who works there is kind and courteous! They are all about what you want and your needs, and make sure that you are happy with your end result. The receptionist is very nice and always asks if I would like anything to drink or if I want my jacket to be hung up. This place is the best for pedicures also, if you want a nice relaxing massage beforehand, and an awesome new nail color at the end! Would recommend if you are trying to get a full set, manicure or pedicure that is above average. Great price without sacrificing quality!

I love this salon. They almost always have time for walk ins and my nails always come out perfect. Very talented and kind artists. Ive tried a few other salons in the area and always come crawling back asking them to fix what the other salon did. Ill always keep coming back.

Make an appointment ahead of time if you’re in a hurry. I’m always happy about the outcome and has a good atmosphere. Dip powder is highly recommended! Great about asking if you’re happy with your set so speak up if you’re not.

Pretty salon, but terrible quality. Almost all (8 total) of my gel nails fell off/were chipped in ONE day. Ontop of that, they are not clear with their prices on the menu. I will not be returning to this salon.

Ive been here twice now to see Henry and he has wowed me both times! Super friendly and very detail oriented. The location isnt the easiest to get to, but after how good my nails and experiences have been I do not plan to go back to anyone else.

I was desperate to get my nails done for the holidays and I couldnt get in at my regular nail salon. I went to Mahalo because it is near by. Let me tell you how disappointed I am of the experience. First, the manicure was terrible. The shape was not what I asked for. My cuticles are cut uneven. As a result, my polish was messy. I will never cheat on my regular salon again.

Mahalo Nail Spa was a great place to make nail appointments before my wedding. Their staff was so accommodating, taking such care with my grandmother, mother, sister-in-law, and me. The manager checked in frequently to be sure my bridal nails were exactly how I wanted them. Liam, the nail artist, did a beautiful glitter ombre with powder - I am still getting compliments 2 weeks later!

I discovered Mahalo after pandemic restrictions got lifted for nail places. they are very nice & took every health saftey precaution to help stop the spread of covid-19. im a guy who gets pedicures so i just look to get my nails short & clean, nothing special. they did that with me very well versus another place or two that werent as good so I can compare. very thorough service.

Trendy and clean salon, friendly staff who do an amazing job!The atmosphere in this place is just one thing that sets it apart. The salon was very clean and everyone was nice so the two stars are for customer service. The pedicure and manicure were probably the worst I’ve ever received. My nail technician was not very thorough in cleaning up my nail beds, shaping my nails, or how she went about painting. I was pretty explicit about what I wanted for shape and she did not follow that directive. I would not return here but for anyone looking for quick service and not necessarily concerned with a manicure or pedicure lasting, this might be right place.

I am impressed every time I go to Mahalo! I get the dipped powder and it lasts longer than any other nail salon I have been to. They also have a great warranty policy if it chips or breaks (no questions asked) within 10 days of the service. I highly recommend, especially if you are looking for dipping powder. It is expensive, but I continue to be impressed - they have instituted a new policy where it is getting more expensive for add-ons (like nail shape) so you just need to be aware/just ask!

I think the service is good.However, I’ve never been in a nail salon where so many customers thought it was socially acceptable to talk loudly on the phone while everyone is trying to relax. No signs discouraging it, so I’m under the impression that this behavior is tolerated by management.If you’re in need of a quick mani/pedi and you want to talk on the phone loudly, this place is perfect.If you’re hoping for peace and relaxing vibe, I’d keep walking.

Went here to get a gel manicure at 5:30pm. I felt extremely rushed from the moment I walked in. The place was packed and I was ordered around as if they had no interest in my experience but to get me out of there in time for the next appointment. I sat down and the manicurist didnt say a word to me except to direct me to pick my color and got right down to business. My nails look great, price is reasonable, ($35 for a basic gel manicure) but one of my cuticles is still bloody and hurts the next day. Don’t go here if you are expecting a relaxing, peaceful atmosphere and make sure to make an appointment ahead of time.

This place is the best! Every time I get gels done here they last at least 2 whole weeks. No peeling or anything. They also make sure to get the paint nice and close to the cuticle so grow out isnt that bad. Definitely recommend!

This salon is clean, nicely decorated, and spacious. I walked in without an appointment and was told that it would be a bit of a wait. The receptionist actually gave me a time to return and when I did I was seated immediately. There are SO many colors to choose from! Bee did a great job on my gel manicure - it’s still holding up 2 weeks later.

I came to get a fill and my toes painted. The place is gorgeous but the atmosphere was ruined by the staffs rude attitudes. They rushed through my nails and complained out loud everytime a new customer walked in the door. Some of their procedures werent very sanitary and my nails barely lasted a week. I wouldnt return for any service.

Overall the salon is nice and I had a good experience. My nails and toes turned out to look amazing, my salon tech showed great attention to detail and how I liked my gel over lays to look. There was a price change in the mist of getting my nails done because I wanted a certain look that kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. But the overall result was worth the extra 20-25$ bucks. I would go here again I just recommend as a consumer the nail tech check with the owner who determines the prices change in services before they quote them to their customer. It can come off kind of sketchy to customer all of a sudden there’s an extra X amount of dollars on my bill after receiving one quote. I would also recommend for the owner to not walk behind the techs looking over their shoulder at the work being done.People go to the salon to relax not have multiple people overlooking their relaxation time, plus it appears unprofessional. Have confidence that your employees are delivering your best quality in nails.Once again I did have a pretty good experience and will most likely make this my new nail salon. Thanks Mahalo

Ive read other reviews but my own experience with this place has been nothing but great. Ive been coming almost since they opened every few weeks or so. Sometimes theres a small wait even with an appt but honestly theres so many color options to peruse through I dont usually mind. Ive always had great service and loved my nails. They always are super appreciate and accommodating. Ive recommended friends and theyve also liked it. An all around good place to go.

Tried to love this place, but my gel nails consistently chip within 5 days. They have the 7 day warranty card, but this last time I went back on day 4 to get the chips fixed (on SEVEN nails - I don’t do anything crazy with my hands, mind you), and they were chipped again with ONE day. I don’t have the time or energy to go back again. Total waste of $40+, but I’ve learned my lesson.

I love them. They know me by name and are always very respectful. I often bring my young daughter in to get her nails painted with me and everyone who works theyre always give her the full experience.

This place is great!!! My gel polishes never last an entire week when I have them done at other places...here, they last forever. I need to have a new one because my nails have grown out so much, not because its lifting or peeling. Staff is great, salon is super clean. Highly recommended.

Went here with a friend for the first time. We were really excited because we finally found a nice place that does nail art and designs. The staff was friendly, there is a good aesthetic there that is better than the other nail salons I’ve tried in the cities. They had tons of options for nail colors and gel powders. I got a gel set for my nails and it was a flat price of $70 which I thought was over priced at first, but the quality of the nail tech, they did exactly what I requested (ombré) with the shape and everything and it’s now been a month and a half and my nails are still in tact and looking fresh. I still get compliments on the daily about them.The only negative of the place is that, the workers were chatting and they insulted my friend and called her a dog, not knowing she could understand them. That affected the tips. We all know this happens but it was still pretty upsetting to experience it first hand.

Jacob did an amazing job on my full set, though I ended up not loving the colors I chose. I went back the next day to get a new color, this man painted over the set I had on which looks terrible and it was a bit sloppy. I will be making another appointment to get a new set with colors I know I like and I will be requesting Jacob.

Just went here for the first time today, and I am in love! Tran Nguyen was amazing, and I will definitely go back to her. Not only did she do a fabulous job, she was unbelievably kind too. Only one other time have I had a nail technician engage me in conversation, and Tran did so comfortably. Thanks Tran, see you in a couple of weeks! :)

If I could leave a 0 I would. This is the worst nail experience I have ever had and I have been getting my nails done for years at different places. They took my gel polish off with a dremal tool instead of a file which made my nails very weak. They also filed nails too short after repeatedly telling them not to do that, which resulted in uneven nail lengths. The polish is unevenly coated, and poorly applied. My nail chipped a day after getting them done. I will never ever come back here for anything. Very upset.

I came in because I like liquid gels nais and the website said they offer this service. The lady that did them was really nice and took the time to explain the prices, thank you. She glued tips on but there are spaces between my nail and the tip on some of my nails. This can cause bacteria to get between and cause problems. Also there was no primer or base coat put onto nails before adding liquid gel. They are pretty short, hoping the stay on. She did a good job filing afterwards, so the nails arent bumby.

Im so sad to be moving and have to find a new salon after Mahalo. Super sweet staff, clean, classy, comfortable salon with reasonable prices. Went there once or twice a month for a year and always had a great experience. If you are in Uptown, this is your place. (Also, I recommend the pearl pedicure!) PS. If you want to go after 5:30pm, it might be best to make an appt, otherwise youll probably have to wait or come back.

Love this place! Techs are so sweet and service is always great! They are always up to date on polish trends too. I have never had to wait long on a walk-in, but obviously make an appointment if you have a time limit.

Awesome staff, clean facilities, and great gel acrylic nail application! Ive lived in the MPLS area for a few years and have had no luck finding a nice nail facility until Mahalo! I will definitely be coming back.

Overall, I had a great experience with my manicure here. They did a great job with their attention to detail - they were able to take off my dip nails pain free and the gel polish they replaced it with is holding up. The only complaint I have is when I got my pedicure done, the lady scrubbing my feet was hurting me and I said ow but she kept going and did both feet quickly. The massage on my legs did not last long and didnt feel so good. My friend who was with me shared the sentiment and she had a different person. We were there for a girls relaxation retreat but they rushed through hers and were almost done with her pedicure by the time I arrived about 5 minutes behind her. They did a great job painting my toes though but it stinks because I ended up paying about $92 for gel on my toes, fake nail removal and gel on my nails. I would come back to get my nails done but i would be wary to try another pedicure.

I went to a nail salon down the street yesterday and was very unhappy with how my nails turned out. From the shape, to the service and color they were just awful. Needless to say, I didnt plan on going back.i stopped by this nail salon after being referred there from a business down the street. I am SO glad I did! Neil fixed up my nails and gave me excellent service. My gel polish is chipped on two nails - not even sure how that’s possible, and it’s uneven on a couple. I’ve had gel polish done before and this has never been an issue. I’m unhappy with my results. I gave 3 stars because there seemed to be other staff that were better than others, I was just unlucky.

I read and heard really great things about this place.Unfortunately I will never return.I got a full set of acrylic nails and a pedicure both with gel polish.I studied to become a nail tech and know how to do my own nails. I was going to do them but was in a crunch for time so chose a place many people trusted with their nails.The reason I gave this place a two star instead of one is because my left hand looked pretty good and the store was beautiful. They also bring out professional looking kits and everything seems to be new when it came to tools. Aside from the nail file she used on my hands while shaping my acrylic.The lady did my full set (brand new set of acrylics) so fast which most cases is awesome, but in this case it wasn’t because two nails on my right hand nails were noticeably crooked. I went to California and someone I met in line waiting for howling were talking about nails and she looked at my hands and commented on how crooked the two nails were. So embarrassing. The layout of the nail was also a bit disappointing because the tip of the nail did not cover from side to side so a portion of my real nail is exposed and could have been file to correspond with the shape of the acrylic. Also the way the acrylic was shape and sculpting in my acrylics were disappointing, the not nicely round as they should be. I then got a pedicure which was one of the absolute worst pedicures i’m ever receive. I got white which yes i know is one of the most difficult colors to paint, but my toes were so insanely streaky because she only put two thin coats. I think a third would have fished it, but she proceeded to top coat the noticeably terrible job she did.For these two services I paid a total of $117Acrylic nails - $60 ($6)Pedicure - $45 ($6)From now on I will be doing my own acrylic nails at home and allocating enough time to do so. For my pedicures I will be returning to Turbo Nails in Eagan.

Horrible nail salon! My friend and I had an appointment for a gel manicure. First they sat us at the pedicure chairs because the manicure tables were full even though there were five chairs open. Then made us move to the table. They were out of the original color that we wanted. They kept taking the colors away from us when we were looking at them. They didnt apply the coats evenly at all, and all of my nails are a different shape and length. The worst part, an hour after I left, my nail broke. When I went back to get it fixed, they tried charging me for it! My nails are all breaking now, and the gel nail polish is all chipping off. When I walked out, it honestly looked like a five year old painted my nails. Im never going back here again, I am so dissatisfied.

I called to see if they had any time for a full set of acrylic nails, and was told yes. I drove there from about 15 minutes away, walked in and was told that they didn’t have anytime available, and I’d have to wait until the following day. Even just to get my nails painted it was a half hour to 45 min wait. I understand places get busy, but the man working was really rude and not very helpful. I’m super disappointed. :(

Lovely atmosphere, excellent service, and extraordinary customer service!!

My sister and I had a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. We waited for 15-20 minutes and then when we got two Gel Sets they didnt even ask how long we wanted them OR the shape!!!! They just did whatever they wanted!! And when we told them we didnt want it like that they argued with us saying it looks better the way it was!!!! We payed them for NOTHING! That was a couple days ago and now my sisters nails chipped and 3 of mine fell off already!!!! DO NOT EVER GO HERE!!! Me and my sister want a refund or free nails or we not going here no more!!! And neither are our friends!
