My daughter’s Sweet 16’s turned out magical!! The complete staff went above and beyond to make the memorable occasion picture perfect. They were very attentive to all the details and pleasing to any request. I am beyond grateful to Betty for assisting me and for all her acts of kindness and generosity. She is a true magic maker!! Their efforts to make my daughter’s Sweet 16’s dream come true did not go by unnoticed.
The dressing room furnitures are a bit outdated. Other than that, they have a nice size of reception room. The children had chicken tenders and fries on the menu that tasted pretty good. The chicken was a little hard, food could be hotter. They did have a photo booth and I thought that was pretty awesome. The DJ there coordinated the event extremely well.
Our son had his wedding welcome dinner at the Renaissance Ballrroom. We were not impressed, and spent about $10,000 on the evening. For starters, it was raining, with a significant water leak in the lobby where our guests met for cocktails. We had read old reviews about water leaks and were assured they would be taken care of. It was not, and was clearly a long standing leak with staining of the ceiling. This dripped into a bucket. The front windows were not clean, and numerous light bulbs were blown or stated to be non-funtional. We had long lines at the bar with a single bartender requiring a family member to help out to keep the line moving. There ware no speakers in the lobby for music. We were scheduled to start at 5, and there was a scramble to have the lobby usable by 5:20. The food was acceptable, but slow to refill when items got low. The DJ and sound inside the ballrrom were fine. For the money, we did not feel it was worth it. With some routine attention to the place and more staffing, could have been fine.
If you are looking for the PERFECT VENUE, look no further!!!! This past weekend was MAGICAL!!!Finding the “Perfect Venue” for every woman’s MOST special day could be a very stressful task. But for us it was definitely a no brainer, I went to the place that 31 years ago made my PERFECT Wedding Day!!! I have done from my wedding, baby showers, first birthday parties, and now my daughter’s wedding and every single time they delivered an AMAZING AND UNFORGETTABLE EVENT. From food, decor, flowers, photos, video, service, I promise they sure don’t disappoint. Rose, Patti, Nancy, Carmen, and Tony my family is forever grateful for an AMAZING evening!To EVERYONE from the staff at Renaissance Ballrooms my most heartfelt thanks for making the vision of our daughter’s wedding day a reality!!! Can’t wait to see the video and professional photos. Looking forward to many more parties with you guys. Highly recommend them!!!!
Futuretech.edu is a nursing school based out of Miami Florida. We absolutely love this venue to host our graduations and now our Nursing Pinning Ceremony. The owners are pleasant and professional. The staff make the event beautiful and seamless for us. They ensure to deliver quality service. Their bartenders are wonderful and their DJs play great music that everyone enjoys. The food is always tasty as well. Overall the venue is beautiful, clean, and in a great location!
My daughters sweet 16 was in February of 2021 in this ballroom I was very dissatisfied with the food, I was told that we would be served skirt steak, but we received some kind of boiled steak.following this the service was horrible and we received no help with decorating leading me to need to go out of my way, because they were busy decorating more expensive partys. I payed extra money for them to make my daughters cake with real whipped cream, but we ended up getting an overly sweet marshmallow topping, and a very cheaply and carelessly made cake that was rock hard and burnt on the bottom. On a scale of 1-10 I would give them a 0 due to their poor food, service and neglect of us as their customers and they don’t stand by the standards portrayed by their name. This was an extreme embarrassment to me and to the guests I had come to this event.Sincerely,A very dissatisfied and disappointed customer.I would not recommend this “ballroom” to my worst enemy.

I cant say enough great things about this team and place! I did everything through them and they made my wedding beautiful and seamless. I have included pictures of some of what they did (pictures were taken by their in-house photographer, Tony of Eikon Events). Even if you dont do everything through them, I definitely recommend going with their florist--my bouquet was spectacular! Honestly, the staff really went above and beyond for my wedding and made my special day perfect and worry-free :D
My daughters wedding was this Friday 2/26/21 i want to thank everyone for their amazing job the flowers were beautiful the service great, I want to thank Betty for all the help, she went way beyond my expectations, Tony did an amazing job I haven’t seen the pictures but I’m pretty sure they’re going to be beautiful he was very helpful. I’m truly thankful for making this special day for us more special.

Great venue and team. They exceeded my expectations. Tony was an amazing photographer (pics came out beautiful 🤩) and helped me plan everything. His mom (I don’t remember her name now) was amazing too on the day prior and day of. My only regret was not getting their videographer Bc mine was poop lol! Flowers were beautiful, food was great, cake was yummy. I’d recommend the all inclusive package since it’s pretty stress free. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

My husband and I couldn’t have been happier ! The entire process was made stress free and easy. They really helped with putting a wedding together during the pandemic ! My sister-in-law booked her wedding with this establishment just before Covid hit. When she tried to get her money back, they charged them 50% to cancel. What a rip off!!We have several elderly people in our family and she chose it was best not to gather everyone for the wedding. Why would they charge her 50% if they did absolutely nothing???!!! Not one penny was spent. Their message is, either have an unsafe gathering in these times, or lose 50% your money.I’m sure they took advantage of any Covid relief the government offered as well. Shame on the Renaissance Ballroom!!
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS VENUE!!!! Before covid, my sister booked with this venue for her wedding. Around the time she was scheduled to get married, restrictions amplified and any venue of gatherings were closed down until further notice. She requested for a refund on the count that her wedding day had past and many of the members in our family are considered high risk. They would not comply due to the contract and them having listed the pandemic as a Act of God. After she was informed of this, she attempted to work with them to re-schedule...not only did they have poor customer service but at the same time they would continuously mistreat my sister by being rude and informing her that IF THEY WANTED TO, THEY CAN TAKE ALL OF HER MONEY. I would hate for anyone to give business to a company like this that doesnt have the decency to understand their customers and work with them during such a stressful time. Save your money and go to another venue where they will work with you and truly care about you booking and having your special event.

My daughters 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 were held on March 26th 2021at this venue en la Calle Ocho and it was everything I had wished for. From the flowers to the appetizers and dinner....hands down AMAZING and soooo delicious! Everyone raved about how beautiful everything was and how good the appetizers and food tasted. I was running around like a hostess usually does and hardly tasted the food but the few bites that I had were VERY good! Nothing like other food I have had at other banquet halls or even weddings at various hotels. This food stood out! Whoever the Chef is, does a fantastic job! The centerpieces were a dream. I upgraded since the theme was “enchanted garden” and boy am I glad I did that. It was magical. The centerpieces were full and you could tell they were done with a lot of care and an abundance of talent! I really cannot complain about anything because my guests all had such a fabulous time. Amid the pandemic and the coronavirus still causing havoc out there, I felt safe and even when I bugged Tony and at the last minute asked to put together both ballrooms so we could space out the tables even more, he kindly told me that would be a waste of money and that the space I had was more than enough. He was absolutely right! The tables were each at a safe distance and my guests were happy. That’s all that mattered. So thank you to all the waiters, bartender and DJ and special thanks to Tony and Betty (I think that’s her name) who did such a wonder job setting up my dessert table. It was gorgeous. Oh and the cake was not only beautiful but delicious!! 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂!!!
A relative had a birthday party there last night and it was awesome. The ballroom was decorated nicely, the servers were friendly, and there was plenty of parking spaces.

These cut throat business mafiosas were more than happy to take your money, but when covid restrictions blessed them with the opportunity to welch on providing thier service they did not object.They kept their rigid 50% cancellation fee policy as if a federal lockdown were our decision to back out. After nearly a year, we got something back and were toldbe glad you got that, because we arent obligated to give back anything.I am very sad that people in such a beautiful industry could be so unloving and heartless.
Hosting Covid Super spreader event today. To quote the Miami Herald, Masks are not really a thing here today, at this indoor event. Chairs are about 20 inches apart. One attendee is wearing a t-shirt that says: Social(ism) Distancing.
Appetizers were great, service excellent. Food not too goodMeat was overcooked and potatoes Au gratin didnt even look good besides being totally lacking flavor. Place was impeccably clean and beautiful though decoration is a little outdated.

I had my wedding reception here and I think everything was phenomenal. The attention to detail in the decorations and the taste in the food was excellent. The attentiveness in everyone involved made the night perfect. My wife and I received non stop compliments with the venue and made the day that much better. Thank you again.

My daughters 15s was held at the 8th st ballroom and the party was outstanding. Everything from the decorations to the food was excellent and beautiful. Everyone from Rose, Tony and Christian were super professional and very helpful with anything we needed. Beautiful place to have a wedding and reception
Just got home from spending new years eve 2019/2020. The place looks spectacular, the food was great, we danced a lot. The music couldve been more up to date. However the tickets were sold from 930pm to 3am. The party was ended at 2am. The owner said she didnt know and was so disrespectful to tell my husband if he wanted to stay 1 hr more when almost everybody had left.
I was the photographer for Maris Ballet & Dance Academy Christmas show. Love working at the Renaissance ballroom. The staff is so accommodating to my needs as a photographer. Would highly recommend this place. Have been doing this project for over 13 years and every year is better. Thank you
I had my dream wedding at the Reinassance Ballroom on 8 st and it was perfect. The whole staff was super helpful from beginning to end. The decoration was beautiful, the flower arrangements, my bouquet was everything that I wanted. The food and the cake were delicious. Tony was my photographer, he was great. It was pretty nice. The staff was friendly and the buffet was simple and good (Italian). Decent dance floor and its single level; no stairs to climb. We had a good time there.

(Not writing to bash them just want to let you know about my experience) had my wedding here the staff is very friendly the decor is very nice and the cocktail hour was good with that being said, we did not get the music we requested, we did not get the flavor of cake we requested (though the flavor given was tasty) I was told that the piano in the lobby was fully functional this was a lie as several keys did not work. The food was cold which is to be expected at these types of events but also very poorly seasoned (not expected) either no salt or too much salt on a beef dish. We went with the in-house photographer and video crew which were nice (as people) except when I called the photographer on Sunday to request a photo booth and he informed me he was on a boat and didnt work Sundays pretty much hung up on me. Ok, so I hired someone else and he had the audacity to get upset with me. The pictures he took were uninspired. The video was acceptable no complaints there. In their defense we did go with one of their lower priced packages [(wedding and photo) still thousands of dollars] but maybe with the more expensive ones they put a little more effort into sticking to the songs requested, seasoning the food and maybe fixing the piano. If not for the additional entertainment we hired the day would have been a complete disaster. If I were to do it again I would look for outside catering and go with a different photographer. The venue is nice the people are very accommodating and friendly but their positive qualities dont make up for their short comings particularly when it pertains to important events such as weddings. I could totally see this place being awesome for Birthdays, baby showers etc. but not for your once in a lifetime (big day) moment.
I had my sisters baby shower here and I have to admit the food was excellent, my guest danced the entire time music was great. Waiters were extremely helpful, they even helped us take presents to the car. Will definitely use again and recommend!

As you first walk in, its spacious and nice. As far as the food, its not good. The soda was flat. I noticed when the server tasted it cause another server told him something about it but they still served it. The servers didnt look happy to be there. No positive interaction.
Tony was soooooo helpful. I had my wedding here on June 23, 3018 and everyone was so nice and helpful. Tony held my hand all the way through. Rosa, and Michael were great. This is a family ran business and they collaborate to help meet my needs. Weddings can be stressful, but they help to alleviate the stress. I loved my cake, the food was great, and the chocolate foundation was a hit. If your doing music, please bring your preferred songs on a USB or bring your own DJ. I enjoyed using this venue.

On Nov. 1st we had a surprise 65th b-day for my aunt at Renaissance on 8th street with about 120 people! Everything was perfect, from working with Tony (office) to the Staff on the day of the event. It was the least stressful event I have planned, food was delicious (lechon), the centerpieces were beautiful, everything was clean, DJ was good, and the price was great for everything that it included. I definitely recommend Renaissance ballrooms for any event. :)
Have been here for a few parties now, it has good parking and its a very clean place. Food is real good. Its a very nice place to host your party.
We went to a wedding here it was wonderful and the DJ was great. The couple did most of the decorating themselves to make thier wedding look custom it was just gorgeous.

My friend had her wedding reception at 8th Street location and the service leaves a lot to be desire. As soon as I entered the lobby, I found myself in the middle of what looked like a costume party, an array of people all over the lobby, people coming in and out of what I later learned was the actual banquet hall were the wedding reception was going to take place. What I did see was a sign of a fifteen’s party and the confused faces of guest trying to figure out where they were supposed to go. Lack of organization there was. I would like to suggest that you use these recommendations to improve the overall quality of your service, especially for a wedding or any other occasion for that matter.
I had my wedding reception here a couple of months ago, not the greatest experience! There was a major disorganization prior to my event, which the ballroom was at fault of. However, after explaining to the owner of the ballroom exactly what we were told when we signed the contract she not only presumed to yell at my mother and I in a disrespectful manner, but did so in front of other clients. I was appalled and disgusted by this treatment, I wanted a full refund however the wedding was only a month away and RSVP’s have been made. The venue on the day of looked beautiful, however the DJ was terrible. He not only played terrible music, but completely messed up the dances and did a terrible job at announcing the wedding party or anything at that matter. He seemed like a complete amateur! The bartender at the wedding was harassing my guests for tips! Something I specifically asked for them to not do since I PAID THEIR SERVICE FEE! Now onto their photographer, the photographer at the wedding ceremony captured photos of everything except for our kiss on the alter, one of the most important pictures! The videographer he Came with was terrible, the video looked like a 12 year old did it. It was shaky, out of focus, not put well together it all looked so choppy! I could’ve done a better job myself! All I could say is that I am blessed to know that I had wonder guests who took better photos and videos of the wedding than they did! As for the reception, I was completely disappointed. The only wonderful employees this place has is Nacy, who made all my beautiful floral arrangements and bouquet -they were STUNNING, and Cha Cha, made sure everything was were it should be! These two deserve all the praise, they were so loving and caring!!! However, to everyone else, you need a lesson a two on providing great customer service! I recommend to everyone who is seeking out this place to go else where!
I will never use this place again, 1 hour knowing that we set up 1 hour to clean up because you book at the last min and being rude RUDE RUDE. threw out my food and cake without asking me. its a beautiful place they need new people with better manners telling my invites to get out. REALLY.... HAD SOMEONE WITH LOW SUGAR was refused food because they were putting it away, lucky I didnt know about this till I got home. REALLY HOW DO YOU BOOK BACK TO BACK events with 1 hr to set up. IRRESPONSIBLE PEOPLE will never used again.

Visited for a Lovely Baby Shower. But lets talk about the leaks! They were horrible! And the staff didnt have a care in the world about it. Finally had the table moved out of the way of the leaks but they didnt do anything to make the situation bettsr for the those of the party or the guest. This location is nice. But the experience wasnt plesant for us as a guest. Hostess paid GOOD MONEY to have this occur.Be sure to look Round before booking. The roof and the carpet.
These people say in their contract that if you cancel they keep 50% of the payment, yet when I had to cancel due to an emergency and I went to see them in person before the event, they gave NOTHING back, and left us with over a thousand dollars short. To this day they have done nothing to redeem this situation. I highly suggest you do not do business with these people.

We had our kids party in October 2017, we only have great things to say about this place. The staff was very accommodating with our request, the food was good, music was great and the service was excellent.

At first I Thought it was a nice place and was excited to have my wedding ceremony and reception there however, a month ago I gave a $500.00 deposit to reserve the date but, life accidents happened that I am unable to do the reception but, I asked if I can at least do the ceremony and I was told a 30 min ceremony and 30 min for pictures, 50 plain chairs, NO Decorations, and the sand unity table NOT including the sand and candle would cost $1,200 with the wedding officiant, and I was told before from an employee of the renaissance at the gables that the ceremony alone would be $800.00. Which supposedly both locations are owned by the same owner. So I basically just received the ultimatum to either do a ceremony for $1,200.00 or loose my $500.00 deposit. It would have been nice if they would of at-least work with you and give you back half of your deposit. I was upset and disappointed but what can I do with that. Who would give $1,200.00 for a plain 30 min ceremony? with no DECORATIONS!!!

Nice place for any banquet event. Has valet parking, the staff serving is very attentive, and the ambiance is nneutral inside, which help fir any decorating required, for almodt any event.
Where do I begin. Firstly this place has fancy buildings and attractive prices, but that is where anything positive ENDS.We had my daughters wedding in the 8th street location and the experience was an absolute nightmare. They booked a fifteens party at the same time, with the excuse that it was to begin one hour earlier and they guranteed it would not interfere. That was a load of horse manure. Our reception was to begin at 8pm and the foyer was packed with people from the other party. We where told that the other party was from 7 to 11 which was a complete lie. They where let in at 10 minutes till 8! Needless to say that is not what a bride wants to see when she walked in. This was after they guaranteed that the partys where not going to interfiere with each other.The food was horrible with a steak that was as tough as leather. The doeuvres where placed on the bar, and the cake was not cut untill midnight, after we asked them to.Ask for everything in writing and tell them to give you a copy, which is your right. We where not given an invoice, they kept it and just let you look at it before signing.In conclusion, find somewhere else folks. This place does not deserve your business.UPDATE ON REPLY:Renaissance at the Gables You not are not only straight out lying, but are calling me, a customer that PAYED YOU, a liar. This shows your level of professionalism garnered by those 50 years of experience. The other event DID cut into our event! Everything that you promissed, you did not deliver. My review was exactly what happened, and trust me, I will continue to warn everyone that is in the market to STAY AWAY from your service. You are deceitful, unprofessional, and instead of siding with a PAYING customer, you call me a liar. My review was CLEAR! The food was terrible, the other event DID cut in, the serving staff did not do what was expected, you gave my daughter a copy of the contract when she first signed in 2017, but NEVER gave her a copy with all the updates (changes) that were made.BTW, I will reply to every single comment you leave because that is exactly what reviews are for. And I will continue to leave my truthful review so other people will know AND prepare for the service they will potentially receive.

I have been planning my wedding for a year and a half, I decided to go with Renaissance Ballrooms. Every appointment we had with Rose or Tony felt a bit rushed, you always had to make time around their schedule, they did not seem very accommodating. Every time another customer would call in while I was in my appointment, it was not uncommon for them to talk bad about that other customer in front of me or the other people in the room. But those are the minor things, which I decided to overlook thinking they would not mess up in my wedding. I should’ve use those small details as proof to the type of business they serve .A year in advance I was confirmed by rose that two parties are not booked on the same day or time to avoid any issues. Two weeks before my wedding I called Renaissance ballrooms and I spoke to Mike, Mike informed me that there was going to be a 15‘s party held in the room next-door to mine. I told Mike that Rose had confirmed with me a year ago that would not happen. He simply told me that is not how they do things and to call Rose. Which I did. I called Rose but she was not there so I spoke to Tony, Tony told me I was being a worry wart and I had nothing to be concerned about. Tony called me a “cabezona”, which I found unprofessional. If I worry about an event especially one like my wedding I have every right in the world to do so. Tony then told me that the other party started an hour before mine and would end two hours before mine. Which it didn’t. Imagine your wedding guest walking into a lobby full of a Gatsby themed party.Also Rose made us pay up front for our extra hour, but the 15s next door to my party paid for their extra hour right there same day of event.The 15‘s party was in the lobby, NO ONE from Renaissance ballroom started escorting them into their own reception room. My aunt and my father-in-law actually had to start telling the people from the other party that they could go on in because my party was starting to come in, not to mention on the way to the reception in the car my husband’s cousin, called us and informed us that no picture or seating chart was outside in the lobby so my guess would know where to go or if they were even in the right place.The steak was hard, the waiters went around once with the appetizers and then place them on the bar which caused a huge line, the bartender had an attitude and everyone mentioned it to me about it after the party, the cake was cut after everyone started leaving and me and my mother-in-law had to tell the waiters to come cut the cake, and the waiters did not go around refilling water glasses, my guest had to go actually find the jug of water to refill it themselves.My father, Sergio Alvarez, also left a review here on Google, their response that I received a copy of the contract after every appointment was an utter lie. They never even offered to give me a copy the only copy of the contract they gave me was after I signed on the first day. We live in the United States, a country of service; if service is bad it is the customers right to complain and demand correction. I’m not complaining about how the event looked, or the time we had, I am complaining about the service and lack of organization . Whoever replied to his comment, how dare you? That just shows the type of business you are.And to answer your next question from that reply, if we wanted to pay for both rooms we would have; there was no need for us to do so. Go to my reviews, I hardly ever leave any, onlywhen service is really bad, so no excuse here.UPDATE ON REPLY:We never asked you for a refund, not once. Again, we did not need the 2 rooms, like I have mentioned to you multiple times, and Rose DID tell me that 2 parties are not booked at the same time or day. Do not call me a liar.I left my honest review - do not twist that into some scheme to harm your family or business. Lack of organization & bad service are the 2 factors for these reviews. Truth hurts?Also, Anthony Elias, leaving a review for your own business is considered a conflict of interest.
