Rude service. Called to have a car moved just a few feet. Took an hour that wasnt the issue when they got there and saw what i needed all of a sudden my card was declined and he refused to help. This use to be a great towing and Mechanic service. It has gone downhill.

Horrible company with crooked employees!!! After being towed at midnight (likely on purpose so that there would be a compounded fine in the morning) I went to claim the car at 1:30 am. Upon arrival they immediately demanded $120 and after asking one question, Jim cowardly shouted “look buddy either pay for it or leave it and go back to where you came from”. I cant stress enough how sketchy and unsafe you will feel when picking up your car. This is the kind of company that seeks any opportunity to tow a car whether it is reported or not just to make a dollar. It takes a certain kind of person to ruin people’s day for a living.

I had a great experience here. The two ladies I spoke with were very kind and offered outstanding service.

They were extremely helpful and nice. They even let us come after hours to pick up our stuff from our car.

One of my best friends got into a wreck and they towed his . They are trying to withhold their property without them paying 200 dollars. The problem with this is I cant find anything in any state laws about this being ok! Everything he owns is in this car and alot of things that his girlfriend owns are in it as well. He doesnt even want the car he is content with them selling it he just wants his belonging. The woman that I spoke with on the front desk was rude and told me she didnt have time for me or my problems though I was being very calm, respectful, and polite. She then put me on hold for 39 minutes and when I called back she waited till she found out it was me that was on the phone to put me back on hold. I had to call back 3 times before she finally said she didnt have time. This is unacceptable and rude and just all around bad costumer service I wish it would let me give them less than 1 star .

I lost power on I 140 before sun up on my way to national park to meet someone. Jims came out asap and took the car in and dropped me.iff to meet my appointment.car got fixed and I picked it.up a few days later. all good nice price nice people. helpful and courteous. I was from ohio so it eased my mind to get personal attention there..

I had a blowout on 40 at 640..it was crazy busy traffic and at night. Roadside servive was impossible..was going to take 2 to 3 hours. I called Jims. When I told them where I was ..5 mins later the were there..had me going in less than 15 mins. The driver was extremely nice and completely concerned about my safety. I will only call them in the future.

Excellent people professional job

Horrible unprofessional service and lack of basic common sense manners. Towed my car the second time because the sticker fell to the ground (it was due to cold weather) and even though they admitted they saw it and are aware of the reason for it falling to the ground they still persisted with their desperation for $150. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This place is amazing! My truck broke down with a loaded trailer in the middle of the night, they towed it to the dealership, took me to a hotel, stored my trailer in their lot, and all with a great price and friendly service. Would recommend 10 out of 10 times over and over again!

Ive used this company to tow my car twice and I can say for sure that its the only place Ill ever use in the future. The driver was prompt and very affordable when I needed my car towed to a mechanic, and when the mechanic informed us they couldnt take a debit card, he even offered to drove my friend and me to an ATM so we didnt have to walk in the heat. The people at Jims are good people and Id recommend them to anyone who needs a tow.

After my sons accident his vehicle was towed by Jims. We didnt get a say in where the vehicle went because we would have had it taken home. Tried to get the vehicle the following day and supposedly the lot it was in was closed on the weekend. On Monday we contacted our insurance to have the vehicle towed to our home. Tuesday I called to pay the initial tow bill amdwas hit with several days of storage fees. After arguing with them that they wouldnt let us on on Saturday that we shouldnt have to pay fees for the weekend they finally agreed. The man on the phone was extremely rude and threatened to hang up because I was questioning their billing practices. I would never willingly choose this service and KPD should stop using them as well.

Had a motorcycle towed by Jims and I couldnt have asked for better service and attention to the safety of my bike.

Towed a commercial vehicle for us and damaged the u-joint and drive line by using a 4x4 board on the drive line because they didnt have the correct tools with them. They replaced the u-joint ($30) but failed to pay any additional damages that totaled over $1500. This damage was not our reason for the breakdown but it became the problem once it arrived at the repair shop. I made several phone calls in attempt to professionally resolve their part in damaging the drive line but they absolutely refused to accept any responsibility. The repairmen said this wrecker service has caused customers issues in the past as well and they wouldnt recommend them either. We also had pictures and our local wrecking company did not feel the tow was handled correctly either.

My Son was involved in an accident 40 east bound almost under the 640 bridge...from there to Grayson Subarau on Kingston Pike a $628.19 tow bill. When I inquired about it their response was doesnt that car have insurance?What difference if it has insurance or not? Because it has insurance means you can charge an arm and leg....now you know why insurance is so high....hope you all sleep well there at Jims.

This company charges $150 CASH. So when me and 3 other women get taxied there with no cash on us we are told to walk down the road at 1:30am to go to an ATM. So I asked the tow truck driver if he would care to drive us to the ATM so we dont have to risk our safety and walk... he said sorry I dont do driving.

Ive never actually used this service but as I was driving down the road with a child yesterday one of their trucks flying down the road nearly rear ended me and last minute swapped lane and nearly side swiped me. Teach your people to follow road laws such as the speed limit.

It wasnt bad but is wasnt great! I will say the only thing i liked was the Chucky doll hanging up. Just meh overall. Environment and vibe was off but what do you expect for a wrecker site i guess.

We had car trouble while passing through Knoxville on Memorial Day and made several calls before finding a towing company that was open. Keith was prompt in getting to us and helpful in suggesting shops that might be open on a holiday. Jims Garage was the only wrecker in Knoxville willing to try to get my pontoon boat/trailer recovered. I lost a wheel bearing and wheel on I-40 at 9pm and they came and did a great job recovering it as well as spent extra time to put it where I wanted it at my house.

This business is overpriced (62$ per mile) and the employees were rude. They need training in dealing with a frustrated customer. I had my situation rubbed in my face by 4 men from the time I walked in the office till I drove out the gate. The lot is extremely tight and not organized well (pallet unloaded and left almost in drive) with no offer to bring my vehicle to the gate. That being said their equipment looks nice and I think it could be a great company with some employee pr training. Theres a reason the BBB rate is an f.

Out of the five wrecker services I asked for help, Jims wrecker service is the only wrecker service I called that would immediately return my car back to my possession, me being the leinholder. Jims wrecker service was short staffed and slammed that Thursday. Not only did they help me in a quick professional manner, the driver who helped me was done with his shift for the day stayed at work and helped me before he went home. The driver was not only professional and courteous, he also made a horrible experience in my life become a better one. The people that work at Jims wrecker service are quick, extremely responsive, honest, pleasant, reliable, and hardworking people. I will only recommend and use Jims wreckers service. Im thankful that my business was given to Jims.

I will say my company has used these people several times pulling stuck trailers out of the ground. They have went out pretty quickly each time and for a reasonable price as well. Im actually about to call them for the same thing now. I would recommend them.

These guys are really great at taking advantage of you. If you want to ensure your day goes well, pay for a parking spot and then have your car towed by them.

Terrible, this place charges 160 dollars if a cop calls them. In addition they have terrible communication skills. Too many political actions when the safety of the people and vehicle care should be first. If I would have personally called them, they stated they only would have charged 75 dollars for the same job. Do yourself a favor and call anyone else because they charge you 20 dollars a day to store your vehicle but dont allow you to pick it up on sundays or after 5pm. When you lose your car thats the only thing you should have taken from you. SHAME ON THIS COMPANY AND SHAME ON KPD FOR ALLOWING THIS!

My car was towed here after an accident because I couldnt think of a good wrecker service to call. On the day I picked up the car, I called Jims and asked where I should go, and they gave me an address. I got there, and they told me Id have to go to a different location to pay. I paid $175 for the tow to a lady who had sprayed so much air freshener in her office that I could barely breathe. She gave me a little paper receipt with no record of what the payment was for. She kept all the paperwork. Then we had to drive back to the first location to get the car. This place is on a tiny, windy, dirt road with a small amount of gravel, and my car was parked at the very top of the hill. The windows were down (Thank goodness it hadnt rained), and my battery was dead.I had a really bad first impression of this place.

Absolute nightmare!!! They ILLEGALLY towed my car on UT campus. There were no signs or anything. When I called, I was very concerned for my car and the man on the phone was incredibly rude. He even said that they dont have to have signs posted to tow a car. I went to pick up my car and said I needed EXACT change and wouldnt take it any other way (once I got there). I finally get my car and then the fat guy comes out and starts joking with the other fat rednecks out front about how I had to have someone come pay it (I didnt have EXACT change). I told him he was a criminal and that I was going to file a report and then he started threatening me and literally started chasing me in my car. Horrible people who are just trying to rob people!!!STAY AWAY!!!!!

I wish there was an area for negative stars. This place is very very unprofessional and very rude. I called twice about my car and was never told I had to pay cash. I was also told they close at 6 when they are open 24/7 by a female who said I could come in and they could wait for me to get there and how much of an inconvience it would be, but when we pulled up to the 30 people outside they were so busy smoking their cigs and drinking their beer to notice me walk up. Jimmy, the male is somewhat nice, but the women are loud mouthed and rude. Such a terrible redneck business. The worst trailer establishment called a buiness I have ever seen. Atrocious service and business. They work in a trailer. Came in for towed vehicle to find them waiting with a loaded gun on the table. Then after paying to get the vehicle back and taking it back they mail me a month later to say they still have it, and that I owe them $500. Of course I didnt pay. Avoid at all cost.

My husband wrecked Lucille two weeks ago. They were there in no time and were easy to deal with.

Ive used Jims for 20 years and have had excellentexcellent results. Their repair shop is wonderful. Ive sent many friends and family there and they have all had great service. They are contracted with many property owners to tow illegally parked vehicles. If they towed you, you probably screwed up. Dont blame them for your mistake. If KPD called them, there is a contract with the city on how much the charges are. Ive been towedand it is expensive but so are wreckers, insurance, fuel etc. I have met the owner many times and I know he us a good person working hard to make a living. This is a hard and dangerous job. I was looking up their number to use their service again and saw the reviews. 5 Stars from people that really know this company and 1 stars from the disgruntled who got caught illegally parking and were towed by the property owner who hired Jims Towing. Grow up and be accountable for your actions.

Id actually like to give this establishment negative stars. I called last night find out how much it would be to pick my car up and they said $250 as long as I pick it up before noon. When I arrived at 11am to get it they tell me a $250 filing has been added. When I explained that I talked to someone last night the Manager Pam said too bad, Im the boss and what I say goes. RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, NO WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS!

All the above complainers are whining because they had an accident or the KPD called the wrecker for them and complained about the price, How stupid!!!!!!! Usually when there is an accident the flat bed is used, therefore that is a bigger truck, MORE GAS dummies .... further more if you didnt have an accident and the KPD called them that means you broke the law, mhmmmmm, DUMMIES. I have used this company many many times and they were fast, affordable, and waaaaay cheaper than any other wrecker company in the city, including Dans, Cedar Bluff, Fountain City, Moons, etc. Yea, Ive called other companies and their prices are set at the prices of the KPD charges - oh yea- when KPD calls, they have a contracted price set, not the wrecker services, they use all the wrecker companies, and they all have the same prices, DUH!!!!!! I actually work for my money and want to spend it wisely, so I search prices and companies before I make a decision. And as far as the customer service, heeeeey, it was great for me, but I did respect them and did thank them all for their time to get my car, because that is what they get paid to do, get cars, not butt kiss cry babies butts.

Charged me $156 to tow my vehicle .09 miles. NOT EVEN 1 MILE. When I called to see if this was correct I was told since the KPD called them they are contracted to charge this rate. THe person even told me if I had called it in myself it would have been $75.SO WHY THE HUGE DIFFERENCE IN PRICE just because the KPD called it in ? They are not paying the bill. When I called to see if they could help and lower the bill some they were extremely RUDE about it and tried to say because it was a wreck they had to do this and that blah blah blah. I have had a car towed multiple times and the driver this time did nothing different than any other time my car was towed. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. And for goodness sakes if you are involved in an accident DO NOT let KPD call a tow truck for you.

I was in a bad spot. I was returning to St. Louis, Missouri from Wilmington, NC when my truck konked out in Knoxville, TN at 11PM at night.Jeff answered the phone and was extremely helpful. Jeff sent Keith out with all equipment needed to handle my truck and utility trailer. Keith and I even troubleshooted the problem and figured that my timing gear had failed (which is unusual for a Ford 300cid inline Six cylinder).Keith gave us a ride to the Super 8 Hotel and exchanged all the information with me. These people have been VERY helpful. A true example of southern hospitality. I HIGHLY recommend them!

My husband was in an accident, and unfortunately the State Police contacted these people to tow our vehicle. They towed it 5 miles to our home, and charged an outrageous $270. The driver told my husband that the State sets the towing price, they had nothing to do with it. I called the towing company office to complain and was told that I had to speak to the owner, of course no call back. Called again, took my name and # and was told he would get the message. In talking to the lady I asked why the charge was so high, and she stated that when the car is wrecked theres all kinds of things that need to be done to tow it....I asked my husband what extra they had to do, and he said nothing..they drove it on to the flat bed. If I dont get a call back today Im calling the State Police and letting them know that its being said that they fix the prices, and posting in many places that I can not to use this place. I checked other tow companies and there prices for wreck removal was more than $100 less.
