John is amazing! I dont live in the area, so was a little nervous about trying to find a good nail salon away from home. I was so impressed by Nail Society. I had a specific design I wanted done. I was not really able to find another place that had someone to do it. Not only was John able to do the design, but he was so thorough and did a great job taking care of my nails and feet. The next time I am in Kansas City I will definitely be making an appointment for him!
My daughter and I had pedicures and manicures done for her wedding. I paid over $300.00. Mine are not the color I wanted but we were running out of time because they are slow. I was being polite so I didn’t say anything. I figured I’d go gave mine re dipped somewhere else the next day. So I paid and we left. I’m looking at my daughters nails and I cannot believe they let us leave there with her having clown nails. I decided, no, I’m gonna speak up, they were horrible. And don’t even get me started on our pedicures. Bad, just awful. They wouldn’t refund me for anything. Their solution was they would fix them. No thank you. We don’t want them done there again. Worst nail salon experience I’ve ever had.
This place is great! I went for the first time a few weeks ago. I went on a Monday and was able to walk in without an appointment. My gel manicure has lasted 4 WEEKS. Most of the time Im lucky if a gel manicure will last even half that long. I will definitely be returning in the future!
This salon looked very nice on the inside. The staff were pleasant and took there time. I didn’t feel rushed, probably the best customer experience I had with a nail salon. My problem is the price I paid for my nails ($75) vs the end product. As you can see my nails are not Evan and when turned to the side it’s rigid. I have a feeling these won’t last long because they are not Structured correctly witch can lead to breakage . I don’t know if I’ll return or not. Also he charged me for a gel top coat on my colored set. I would think the top coat comes included in a colored set.Update:I got my nails done on the 12 of September today is the 23 and there all starting to lift. I removed 2 stars because of cheap products.
I’ve been going to Nail Society for about a year now, and generally have a good experience. There have been a couple times where the nail tech has rushed and I end up with lumpy dip or lifting at the cuticle within a week. About 75% of the time, though, I don’t have any issues. The salon is very clean and has a cool atmosphere, which is what drew me to it in the first place. The biggest downside to Nail Society is that you have to have an appointment (this might only be on weekends, I’m not sure about weekdays). This wouldn’t be an issue if there were some way to book appointments online, but the only way to book one is to call them. The past 2 or 3 times I’ve made appointments, I’ve had to call more than once because no one answers the phone. They can get busy when checking people in, so I understand if I call at one of those times. However, I have called 4 times in the past 24 hours to try and make an appointment for Saturday (it’s Tuesday) and have not had my call answered once. Unfortunately I won’t be returning here anymore.
Absolutely lovely service! Very friendly, welcoming, and prompt. I love all the different customizations for the pedicures! This is the best gel manicure Ive gotten in a very long time. Its lasting and holding up well, and my technition put a lot of care and effort into styling my nails. Pedicure was extremely relaxing, as well! Definitely recommend. :)
Walking into this salon, I was impressed by the layout and the interior design. But I shouldnt have been fooled by the aesthetic interior. I attached an inspiration picture and the nails I ended up receiving below. The guy who did my nails was super nice, but kept hurting me and made me bleed when they were getting done. After my appointment I had to go home and spend 2 hours scraping the gel off and redoing the manicure myself. In the past week, six of my nails have broken and two have broken under the skin and are bleeding and extremely painful and damaged. I have never had this happen with nails before. I spent 70 dollars (as a college student might I add) to get these done only for them to snap off and insanely harm my nail beds. I called to ask if there was anyway they could take them off (NOT RE-DO THEM!!!) for free so I dont have to be in PAIN from the NAILS THEY DID, and they said no. So ultimately dont take your business here. I bet there are some amazing individuals that work here and I really wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but my experience trying to get help with the BLEEDING UNDER MY NAILS is insanely unprofessional.
I recently went to this salon with one of my best friends to get our nails done for her birthday. we both decided that we were going to get colored french tip nails and showed our nail techs the same reference photos. while hers turned out beautiful, mine where way too far down and my tips were way too thick. the nail tech doing mine was extremely nice, but i ended up having to go home, scrape my dip off, and redo them myself after i paid $65.00.
Best manicure Ive EVER had hands down!
I booked Nail Society for my bridesmaids and Mother-in-Law the Friday before my wedding because I just love this place. They have the best vibes, so friendly, reasonably priced, with many selections available. I had a special dip design manicure I was wanting for wedding day and the technician who worked on my nails was incredible... she made sure every little detail was right and just how I wanted it to look. All the girls kept talking about how much they loved it there. Its also such a great location with plenty of parking around on the street. Highly recommend for an enjoyable experience!
I routinely go here and normally am happy. There is one male technician who has done my nails twice. He is rough handling my hands and irritates my cuticles with his tools. He seems really disinterested in his work and acts like he is being put out doing your manicure. Next time I return, I will request not to be given that guy for my manicure.I am omitting his name on purpose.
I’m here visiting but was in desperate need of a pedicure and a full set. I went to the nail salon with an idea of what I wanted but wasn’t sure if the design and color suited me. The pedicure was relaxing. I am particularly when choosing nail polish color. I prefer colors that blend well with my skin tone. When I explained this, the nail tech Jennifer looked at color options and chose a color that looks stunning. After my pedicure Jennifer start on my nails, again the color choice was a concern, I gave her my idea and she took it from there. I was nervous that I wouldn’t like the color but she found a color and designed my nails exactly how I wanted it. Jennifer was patient and kind. The atmosphere was great. I was greeted by the receptionist, although she had a mask on you could see her smile clearly she was welcoming and answer my questions with a beautiful smile. The other techs greeted me with a smile as well. The salon is beautiful and extremely clean. I recommend Nail Society to anyone who is seeking a friendly atmosphere and talented nail techs. Jennifer was great and I appreciate her as she made my visit a great one.
I went to visit nail society on 10/09/2020. I moved to Arkansas before I ever got to visit them so I saw the perfect opportunity when my brother was getting married to do all the girls nails there since I was traveling to Missouri! I been following them since they opened. The salon is beautiful they were very nice even though we were late because I got lost. 5 days after my visit my gel matte polish was already coming off and I need to fill already and it’s only been 8 days. My sisters polish stained her nails. I am sorely disappointed because their work always looks so great! I paid 75$ which is really high for just a full set! But it is on the plaza so I just went with it plus all their work always looked great.
BUYER BEWARE! I made an appointment and went to my first (and last) visit last week. I scheduled a regular pedicure and gel manicure. When I arrived the receptionist confirmed my name and the services I wanted. The pedicure was great and what I asked for.The manicurist did not provide all the listed services for a manicure including hand soak, massage or steam towel. The nail shape reference picture that I showed the manicurist was not the nail shape I was given. I have no experience getting a gel polish and was told only after I received dip. I dont like it at all. It is uneven, thick, and uncomfortable on my nails. Im scared my natural nails are damaged and Ive already made an appointment at another service provider to get the dip removed.Im angry and disappointed that the services I made an appt for and that were confirmed were not those that I was given. It is unacceptable and I was charged over and beyond what I asked for. I will incur additional expenses to have the dip removed much sooner than I would have had the gel removed and without the expected amount of time I would have expected to enjoy manicured nails for.
Ive been going here for almost a year. Ive never been disappointed. The only place i go now. Everyone takes their time to make sure you get the best experience!!
This place is so inviting. The atmosphere was refreshing. I felt famous walking in the place. The service was friendly. The employees interaction with the customers was awesome!
My nails look amazing! The service was great and all the gals there are so friendly! Ask for Vivian, she did such a wonderful job, and was so kind!
Impressed not only by the level of service, and of course my fabulous nails, but the salons approach to COVID and keeping its clients and staff safe. My temperature was checked when I walked in, every one is required to wear masks, I had a bank teller plastic screen with the nail technician where I slipped my hands under after washing them 3 times during the manicure. This is a wonderful example of how a business is taking accountability to keep each other safe. I couldn’t recommend this salon more! Thank you Nail Society.
Website states they take walk ins. They do not. Update website.
I literally get THE BEST service in KC from Nail Society!! Not only are you “wow’d” coming in through the door but their work is unbelievably STELLAR. Very clean and well maintained place. I get all my Medis done here & I’ve literally gone weeks with NO LIFT! I come in with a design in mind & they kill it everytime. I would 110% recommend them to any of my friends/colleagues/family members!
Called nail society to book my bridesmaids and me an appointment for my wedding. At first, they said they didn’t have enough staff that day to accommodate our group, but a couple minutes later they called me back and said their boss would come in to have enough staff. they are very responsive and willing to make things work! So happy to have them for my wedding
I love this place! Third time getting a dip manicure and they have all been better than all other places around. The inside is stylish and clutter-free. The staff are all pretty friendly, and the prices are in line with other shops around. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this place to a friend.
Clean, friendly, quality service with excellent value. Was able to get an appointment same day.
Love this place.love my nails! The ladies are very nice and the space was clean and tidy.
First of all: GORGEOUS PLACE!I made an appointment yesterday at the last minute because my regular salon was completely booked for the day. I called Nail Society was able to come in 45 minutes. I had a design in mind and the nail tech was able to execute the design! I didn’t feel rushed or anything. The tech, Anna even recommended some healthier options for my design which I appreciated so much.Secondly: they give you WINE! I opted for a cranberry mimosa and I was so relaxed. All in all, I was there for 2 hours. I live 30 minutes away and sure there are great salons near my home in a Olathe but I’m willing to drive to this salon instead, especially for the complimentary wine. I’ll be bringing my girls and my mother here soon.
The staff is very knowledgeable about what they do and they do a really good job on everything. The process are worth.
I called for an appointment on a Sunday morning and the receptionist said “just walk in”. My friend and I arrived at 1:30 for a pedicure and a fill. They took my friend right away and told me it would be a 30 minute wait. An hour and a half later, they moved me twice but finally had someone start on my nails. She noticed my acrylics separating from my nails and recommend a new set so I wouldn’t get infected. I said I didn’t have time for a new set, as I had already been there 2 hours. She proceeded to fill over brown spots on my nails. She seemed frustrated with me and accidentally cut my cuticle. I had to rush to get back to my kids, but (in 3 hours) I just spent $50 to get a fill that I planned on lasting for 2-3 weeks but left with a bloody thumb and needing to get my nails done to avoid infection. I stopped in the next day and explained my frustration and asked that they fix my nails with a new set and I would pay the difference. They made an appointment for me 4 days later. I spent 30 minutes waiting to hear all they could offer was 10% off a new set. I said I would rather pay less at a place I know is reliable. They came back 10 minutes later saying the most they could offer was 15%. I felt insulted that they did not value me as a customer and wasted my time. They spoke to me as if this was my fault for not getting a new set the first time. I’m can’t justify paying $100 in a week for my nails when you messed up.I do not recommend Nail Society. I would not want anyone else to go through what I experienced here.I’m truly disappointed because I work near by and was so excited for them to open, so I could have a new spot. I would have been a valuable customer, but they clearly don’t care about guest satisfaction.
I dont like how they accept who they want to for walk ins. They claim theyre not accepting them but a friend of mine watched someone walk in awith no appointment and get serviced without any issues. I believe they are just being discriminative
The nail technician made my nail bleed (extremely bad) which is completely unacceptable when you are paying for a professional service. Would not recommend.
This is a gorgeous new location with plenty of pedicure chairs and a well designed manicure station. Huge selection of paint colors and the staff is exceptionally friendly. The mimosas are a nice touch too 😉
I got a gel manicure with Janny yesterday and she did an amazing job, my cuticles are immaculate! I love the interior design and that they don’t have TVs, it makes it even more relaxing in the salon. Tons of colors, including gel and dip. I highly recommend Nail Society!
Janny always does a fantastic job with my nails! I have been to many different nail salons in KC none compare to the amazing work they do at nail society! Highly recommend!
Fabulous
One of the best if not THE BEST nail salons in KC, clean and hygienic all the tools are disposable meaning they’re only going to be used on you, great and friendly staff, this is LUXURY!
Fair warning - its a long one. First things first, they do amazing work. I cant deny that my nails look gorgeous, but I will not be returning. I heard amazing things about The Lacquer Room and was told this was the same owner so I decided Id pop over on my lunch break and give it a try. I was so excited and had been waiting all week to get my nails done here. I called about an hour ahead and asked if there was room for an appointment and they sounded hesitant, but agreed - I offered a couple different times in case that would work better but she said it was okay and they could make the appointment.I had a small wait, but eventually I got sat down and had someone begin taking off my previous dip. Once she drilled off the top coat I was soaking the rest off when another woman came over and checked on me, twenty minutes later she came back and I suppose this was who was going to be doing my nails. She didnt say anything to me, didnt work on my cuticles, just finished taking off the polish and immediately started to dip without asking what I wanted. Even though with her previous customers she was just laughing and having conversations with them and another nail tech. So I stopped her and showed her a picture of what I was wanting which she then seemed to get frustrated and said no one told me I was doing a design. Well... no one had spoken to me about anything yet. At this point I had been here for about 45 minutes. I apologized and was trying to be kind and patient because they were very busy and I know the Holidays suck when you work with people. She continued to work like she was rushing through my nails while another tech showed her snapchat videos. Then I overhear them talking about other people coming in for an appointment who I later found out they were friends with. So I realized she was rushing through and not speaking to me so she could be with her friends. I definitely felt like I was nothing but a huge inconvenience to say the least. Another lady came up and looked at the design I had on my phone and asked the tech who was working on me if thats the design she was doing and she said, Yeah, but I didnt know I was going to be doing it, and then started speaking in another language. Okay again, Im sorry but no one asked me what I wanted - I had only picked out my color, sat there for forty five minutes only to have you come over and grab my hand and start working without speaking to me.She finishes dipping and asks another guy to do my design because now her friends are here and they brought her presents and she would clearly rather be with them then with me. So the other guy sits at his station, back to me, on his phone for about five minutes. Ive been here for an hour and fifteen minutes now. He gets up, still on his phone, sits in front of me, still on his phone and sits there for another couple of minutes. He didnt say a word to me either. Then he gets up and walks around sits back down on his phone for another five minutes. Finally another girl notices Im getting frustrated and she nudges him and he begins working on my design. He did beautiful work, really amazing, but I cant justify sitting right in front of your customer thats already been here for over an hour and being on your phone not speaking to them or even making a small amount of eye contact.Overall, I was there for two hours and fifteen minutes - definitely longer than I intended considering I was on my lunch break, which I ended up having to stay late at work to cover. The only good customer service I received is from the ladies at the front desk and the ones walking around. I wish that was enough to make me come back because I really was looking for a regular salon to go to and I was so excited about going there yesterday. But I left feeling like an inconvenience and like they didnt want me in there to begin with.
Always have to wait with ir without apptNot near enough helpDefinitely can’t walk in ..Quality of servuce is good but overpricedLots to work on in customer servuce !
