I am obsessed with Bona Terra Salon and beauty wizard Dela. I moved from San Francisco in 2020 and have been looking for a salon and stylist in KC that has the expertise, love, and color-styling skills like Dela. I also love her colleagues and the community vibe of this understated elegance that is Bona Terra Salon. Mgmt take note - Dela is a star and this review is purely organic. Highly recommend all of the staff at this location and am now never going anywhere else (see pic for more information).

Very PROFESSIONAL and CLEAN! Making an appointment was so easy to do. They even called me the day before as a friendly reminder. I arrived on time and they were ready for my appointment. Went in looking like a caveman and left looking ready for Hollywood! Thank you!!!

Today, not only did I leave the salon looking and feeling beautiful but I actually had a great time. It was like the Female version of the barbershop.Sydney, is an amazing stylist I have thick curly hair and she cut my hair wet.If you have curly hair and hairdresser can cut your hair while wet you know that the stylist knows what she’s doing.I came here from Jacksonville, Fl and badly needed a my hair done. I couldn’t have made a better decision then to come to Bona Terra Salon have Sydney cut and style my hair.

I was in the shop for the first time last week for a service. My stylist Sydney was helpful and did a great job. Im giving Bona Terra 3 stars for the decor and atmosphere. They have a “white” couch in their lobby that is very old and noticeably dirty. It looks like they got their lobby furniture from your grandmothers garage sale. For what i paid, the Ambience should match the price point. It makes me sad because i love aveda and the experience there.

Della is THE BEST!! She is pretty great at accommodating appointment times. Listens to what you want but offers suggestions for your hair type/color/length that help get you better than you hoped for. I highly recommended. Id give 6 stars if I could.

Love the new location, the atmosphere is so much more relaxed, and the sense of design and rest are at work here. I love my haircut from Liz! Amazing woman, listened and heard my concerns about my hair. I gave her license to do whatever she wanted. I know, a scary thing to do to your own hair, but it was well worth it! Best haircut Ive had, in, um... probably my whole life! Lol! The best thing? My hubby loves it and cant stop staring at me! Hes never done that after getting my locks chopped off. Thanks Liz! Your the best!

I have a great experience every time Im here. Tiana has an eye for color and makes my hair look fabulous. Liz has experience with and insight for cutting fine hair to keep it looking full and fun. Im always greeted with a smile, a cup of tea, and a scalp massage. Definitely a treat. Hair cut, hair color, and lip color by Tiana below.

Every time I go its a great experience. Everyone is professional and friendly. Liz is my go to stylist, she is honest, helpful and damn good at what she does. My hair is on point because of her!

No matter what kind of cut you need, the people at this Aveda salon can do it! All are highly skilled stylists. All of the staff go out of their way to make clients comfortable, none of that fancy, too-cool salon stuff here. Ive had Schyler cut my hair for several years. She listens and always does a great cut that grows out well.

Ive been coming here since they opened! Beautiful, serene environment. Aveda from top to bottom. You feel like the most important person in the world while youre there.

I love this Aveda-style salon; they truly personalize each persons experience. My only complaint is that the parking lot is right off 63rd Street, so the building is conveniently located, but sometimes its difficult to turn in due to traffic.

Love Bona Terra Salon in Brookside where color expert Elisabeth Mattison used Avedas NEW Full Spectrum Demi+ on my hair. This 98% organic semi permanent color and highlights has not faded in four weeks..Its ammonia free and healthy for my hair. I love Avedas new technology and healthy products that Elisabeth uses on my mid 50s hair. My 20 year old daughters have been going to her for years as well. Check it out, across from Heirloom Bakery. Easy parking.

Best salon ever, keeping my hair high n tight.

I see Tiana for my cut and color, I followed her from the last Salon that she worked at in Grandview, and I normally dont do that. Tiana takes the time to study your face and color and give you a cut and color accordingly. I am in my early 60s and many hairdressers tend to blow us older ladies off, but Tiana has helped me look my best and gives me an updated cut with color every time I see her. PLUS I love Aveda products. Tiana and Aveda, what could be better for your hair?

Very expensive salon. Hard sell on products and services you dont really need. Still in growing stages and does not have all the kinks worked out as far as staff. Cut, color and style took four hours and cost me well over $200 with tip.
