Love this place! Diane is awesome and up front and funny! Only had great experiences here with gels mani and pedicures. Reasonable prices and top notch, great products that they use. Highly recommend BKS nails!!
Three of us went in for the same services and got 3 different results. A few other reviews said hit and miss, and thats accurate. One of us got great service, worth the money, and had a polite technician. The other 2, not so much on any count; outright rude, pushy, and partial services provided! Theres plenty to say about this experience, but the 1 star should be sufficient.
I got my nails & toes done here yesterday- and I am not happy at all. I spent $30 on my toes, and $75 on my nails, just to have my toes chip by the time I got home and my finger nails looks dull (no shine) and have ridges on them. My finger nails do not look finished at all. How did I manage to pay $70 for my nails, and it looks like a cheap $40 dollar set? I spent $115 total after tip, and I’m not happy with my nails nor toes. I will be going back later today to have them fix my chipped toes, and add polish to my nails… my cuticles on my nails were not trimmed, no hand massage included, and they look nothing like the picture I showed my nail tech. I’ve had some phenomenal nails done for $75… this just seemed rushed and rude.
They did a great job! Decent price for the quality of work. I got a basic pedicure and a full set. Both super high quality. It was quiet when I went. Didnt have to wait at all even without an appointment.
I went for the 1st time and was treated with respect and care.
Ive traveled and moved a ton so I have gone to my fair share of nail salons. I always seem to find something wrong at other salons- poor shape, bad finish, etc. However, BKS always does my nails to absolute perfection. Just got a dip mani done by Anne and they are literally flawless. Highly recommend!
Extremely bossy when I was in the chair. My nails came out looking like press-ons from middle school. I went with a friend and her nails came out bumpy. I will not be returning.
Sometimes my nails are done well, but the last two times my polish peeled a few days later. I simply dont see the point in paying to have my nails done here.
I have been to this place a couple times and they do a fine job on your nails. However every time I go I wait for 15+ minutes before getting any services done. The last time I was in there I waited for 20 minutes before someone decided to tell me that no one was going to take me back until the only other lady that does acrylic nails is ready. Because somehow this nail solon only two technicians that can do acrylic nails.?!?!? I honestly wouldn’t have had a problem with this if they would have told me in the beginning when I got there, so I could have made in informed decision if I wanted to wait or come back a later date. But instead I was just there waiting people walk in and get service immediately.. After 40 mins of sitting I finally left.
Very nice, clean and friendly!!! Not to mention fast and thero
Friendly and fun.Peter did a great job on my nails.
Best staff and quick turnaround. Clean salon!
I’ve been here twice, once for gel and once for my first ever acrylic set, which I got gel on as well. The owner is clearly a good nail tech and businesswoman, and Nikki is a talented and personable nail tech. She walked me through what was happening, which I loved because I’m kind of a nail newbie. Point being, for above average customer service and awesome nails, come here!
They did ok, I didnt get the polish the way that I wanted it because the lady acted like she didnt understand what I wanted. I just went simple. The only reason they got 3 stars is because the lady that did my eyebrows did a wonderful job.
Everyone at BKS nails was so friendly and SO great for my 6 & 5 year old nieces. One of them even got carried from her pedicure station to her manicure station. Above and beyond with service :)
My friend and I got our nails done at BKS nails. 2nd time in a long time going there. When we first got there I felt like we were being rushed to pick a polish and for them to get started. The manager was so rude and short to my friend and I. If you got the money we have the time! As I asked for more than 1 color for my nails. I was charged $78 dollars for a manicure and pedicure. When I asked about what was the difference between cost vs. my friends total of $65. I was told because they had to take off my previous dipped polish and my nails were longer. Then asked me for a cash tip instead of a putting it on my debit. Unbelievable! I will NEVER come back to this nail salon again! I have never been charge for outrageously for taking dip off the nails and for my length. Not only that she called security because she was being noisy and read the text messages my friend and I said about never coming back and about the rude service. Try to intimidate us with their security friend when we did nothing wrong. NEVER will I EVER return again! If I can give them a 0 stars I would but I guess 1 will have to do. Lost 2 customers FOREVER!! I would not recommend anyone not even my worst enemy to get your nails done here. FACTS
Extremely unprofessional. My stylist was watching videos on her phone at full volume between tasks. My nails look terrible, she did an extremely poor job. Overall she was dismissive and seemed almost annoyed that she had a client. And again, the quality was horrible.
Literally the best shellac manicure I’ve ever received. I got my nails done here recently, and the polish lasted for 3 weeks and 3 days!!! No chips or peeling.I was extremely impressed. If you’re looking for a place to get your nails done, go here. You will not be disappointed.
Love this place! Lori is accommodative & awesome!
Took my best friend into BKS Nails and got pedicures and best pedicure Ive had. Our feet looked great after. Our feet werent too nice before coming in but their staff fixed us right up. Staff is very friendly and the environment is great! Would definitely recommend for ladies and gentlemen.
The facility was quick and clean, my manicure was well done, but the overall experience left me with a poor taste in my mouth. For $19, because I paid with a card, I just got a simple polish manicure, but was pushed and pressured 3 times to get gel or dip prior to even starting. I told the woman no, and then at the end, she said AGAIN to get gel next time. She also asked me 4 times if I had cash. I apologized because I didn’t plan on getting a manicure today, it was a walk in, so I did not have cash on me to pay or tip. She spurned me with a look when I tipped $5 on the card, and asked again 3 times if I had cash at all. I was so annoyed the whole rest of the experience because I didn’t even want to tip anymore due to how irritating she was being about not having cash and pressuring me to get something I did not want. I just left it alone, but I wanted to leave so fast and was so uncomfortable. Don’t recommend if you’re looking for a place to relax. Not a very welcoming location.
Not worth the money. overall experience was not great either. wish i could have something better to say as i dont like to leave bad reviews ever!
I regularly drive over an hour to come here. This is the best salon in the city. Service is impeccable, their work beautiful, and I rarely have a wait.
So detail-oriented, polite, and professional! LOVE this place. I’m impressed and will definitely come back. The view of Brookside is pretty too.
I always enjoy how my nails look after any service here. However, they are pushy about sales. If I say I dont want gel polish (yes, I know it lasts longer), that is the end of the discussion. I shouldnt have to ask multiple times and argue with my nail tech, which is what happened today. I said-while getting the deluxe pedicure she insisted I have (basically didnt get a chance to look over cheaper options), regular polish is fine for my purposes today. Then I walk over to the table to get my manicure, and I see gel polish. I repeat that I wanted regular, and she said just try it! it lasts longer! regarding the gel. I had to repeat myself multiple times. Im going to start looking elsewhere for a nail joint. I dont appreciate being gouged for a few dollars. Youd make more money by making me a happy customer and doing what I asked so I would come back.
Thank you for reminding me why I am so selective of who does my pedis. I am worried about having ingrown nails after seeing you. Not only did my tech cut me when clipping my nails, but unnecessarily clipped deep into my side walls! This us what I do professionally as well and went here with someone as a gift. I loved the kind gesture, but I hope she doesnt return to your nail salon again.
Great as always. My regular technician wasnt in so Lori did my nails and she did a great job. Thanks Lori, Thanks BKS Nails for always keeping my nails looking great.
I got the powder nails done and they looked great but lasted 3 days before chipping. When I went back to get them fixed, I was told I could come in anytime so I did. I ended up having to wait 30+ minutes. I have a newborn so it’s hard enough for me to get out of the house to do something nice for myself. Very disappointed.
Our neighborhood mani pedi place! They do a great job! Amazing leg massage with the pedi and their gel polish stays on a super long time!
This place is gorgeous with a perfect view of the streets of brookside, MO. So clean and well cared for all at a great price! My technician, Kevin, is kind and careful! Altogether a wonderful visit!
Not a great experience. I had never been there before, had a $30.00 gift certificate and just wanted to try the regular spa pedicure. The technician was trying to up sale to the deluxe pedicure, which is great, but I told her I was on a budget and just wanted the regular. Well, if this is the regular pedicure forget it! She cut and filed my nails, did not cut my cuticles, barely scrubbed the rough spots with an exfoliating sponge, rubbed lotion on my feet (for about 1min) and quickly painted my nails. The whole experience lasted about 15 mins. When I went to the drying station I noticed the paint job was messy and I had dry skin around my cuticles. She brought me back to the chair to “fix” it by repainting a toe and brushing oil around my cuticles. I’m a regular at Lynn Nails on Wornall and know a good pedicure when I get it. I won’t be going back.
I went to get a normal full acrylic set. The starting price was 35$ and it costs 5$ extra for a different shape and length, which I did not get. The man who was working on my nails made me get gel, after I said no, so it went up to 38$. I was fine with it, and I only expected to pay 38$ total because I got my nails very short and I got the standard shape. He cut my fingers quite a bit and took over an hour. At the end he told me my final price was 50$. It makes no sense to me. I’m very disappointed and they are the worst nails I have had
This place was a nice experience. We went in on a holiday weekend - so very busy, with no appointment and they got us in pretty quick. Service was nice and my pedicure lasted a while.
I found them to be rude
My familys favorite salon for all needs. Theyre efficient, friendly, and always find a way to squeeze you in. Call ahead if you want a specific time, because they fill up fast!
I accompanied my friend to this salon. Her technician was nice and skilled. I think all would have gone fine had it not been for the owner. The owner did not convey my friends requested service properly to the tech. Also, when my friend wanted to get the same color thats on my nails, we knew it would require 3 coats of polish since it was a light color. The owner intervened and told the tech to apply only 2. The color turned out not to be dark enough to achieve the desired results. We didnt have time on our schedule to argue. SAD! The tech was nice but the owner is not customer-oriented at all! 😝
I love it here! Will not go anywhere else in town.
This is the Place. You know a good place for waxing, manicures and pedicures by if it is busy on a Sunday. This place is. Thise in the know are here getting their beauty refined. The staff is pleasant and attentive and the place smells great. This is the Place.
Went this weekend to get my nails done for graduation. All of the other employees seemed very friendly; however, the lady who did my nails was very rude and did a terrible job and the entire experience was very rushed. I could have done a better job. My manicure lasted only three days before becoming incredibly chipped. I would have been better off using my own nail polish and not paying as much as I did. I also got my eye brows done. The technician took off more than half of them and left several straggling behind. A large chunk of the middle of eye brow on the right side is now gone. I had to run to buy an eye brow pencil to fill it in. I am very disappointed in my experience here. All of the other employees seemed so friendly, but the employee I had clearly had no desire to be there and did not care about the quality of her work.
Price is right for a good pedicure. I think it was $26 and looks great almost 2 weeks later.
Hands down the best Mani-pedi I’ve had. My hands and feet were looking so rough. Thanks to Sarah, my technician and her meticulous work, they are soft, smooth and polished to perfection. First time I’ve gotten gel, leaving the salon with totally dry nails was worth the extra $, alone. Looking forward to enjoying this for the next several weeks. Thank you!
First of all, the prices they have on the board are not the same as what they charge! Second they charge extra for everything! They cut my fingers then got mad at me I was bleeding and everything I will NEVER come back here!!!!
Nothing special. She rushed and didn’t do the best job.
Easy to get into. Lots of technicians, clean
Worst manicure experience Ive ever encountered. The male technician that did my nails was obviously in a rush, because he got the polish all over my skin, the polish itself is uneven/lumpy, he filed my nails completely non symmetrically, cut me numerous times-- just over all awful. As soon as I got home I tried best to fix what I could (since I did gel) because I was so embarrassed of how my hands looked. I get manicures every once in a while to relax and treat myself a little, so this was such a bummer. To get the outcome I did, I should have just given myself a manicure in the dark.
The staff was friendly and attentive.
Alwaysavailable, open Sundays and fo a great job!,
My nails always look good but the service is hit or miss. Two techs in particular tend to be rather unpleasant and rough no matter how polite you are to them.
I absolutely love this salon - The most talented nail artists in KC! Also, to top it off, the salon is gorgeous!!The only place I trust in doing shellac that lasts forever ;)
My nails look beautiful after the manicure I got here. The technicians are super friendly and make sure to take good care of your nails. I would defientely reccomend coming here!
Diane is fabulous! Very impressed with the quality of work.
Love BKS Nails. My gel manicures last 3 weeks! Diane is running the business as a single mom-please support her.
Favorite nail salon in the area. Staff are great! Its clean. I always leave with a well done mani and pedi that last.
Reasonable prices, and nice people! They even have a cute little childrens chair pedicure station.
Best place in town for nail care, shellac mani/pedi, etc. Techs are top-notch and salon is always very clean. Shellac mani always lasts 2 weeks, often more. I’ve been a customer for years, and the service is always excellent. Have not had wax dip nor eyebrow service here. Thank you, BKS Nail!!
Rushed and roughed up. Was looking forward to my deluxe pedicure but left disappointed. This place is hit or miss which is unfortunate as the location is perfect.
Go here if you want to pay full price for a fill. Its pretty tight.
Pedicure looked good until I got home and the big toe was smeared. I won’t go back even though it’s five minutes away from my house. I’ll stick with Nail 39.
Everyone is so pleasant & makes for a very nice environment.
Terrible customer service. Gel chipped first few days of having it and I’ve never had gel chip like this before. Waited over 45 mins for a mani/pedi and was first in line on walk-in list, then was moved to back of the line because a large party came in that had an appointment. I expect communication regarding if you can or cannot take me due to your personnel and scheduled appointments. Don’t think pushing me back and me waiting 3 hours is okay not to communicate. I should not have to ask! Never experienced something quite like this at a nail salon ever.
Came in o a Friday afternoon, tech did a great job glad its right down the street from the Barkery.
Normally when I go to my regular nail salon and have the dipping powder applied it last 3-4 weeks and must be soaked off. After 1 week one nail fell off and week two another nail fell off (material was not properly bonded). In addition, when you apply dipping powder you do not use a curing light if done properly the materials self cure. When I went to this nail place they used a curing light. I purposely pick dipping powder to avoid using the curing light.
Just found my place! Pedi is great!!
Clean, fast, chip-free gel nails with gentle removal and great owner!
The staff was rude, and i felt very uncomfortable during my time there. but nails were very nice
Good work on nails and toes.
Great pedicure!
Great manicures or pedicures, massage therapy.
I was extremely disappointed in the service. The nail technician was rushed, rough and rude.
Their Nail Tech Nikki is a beast and nails and more.
The female technician is so rude!!!
Always fast and attentive
Nails look great!!
