I really wouldn’t recommend moving here. Price goes up as quality goes down. Many of the units constantly flood either from rain pouring in, from your sinks backing up, or from a leak coming from above you causing your ceiling to cave in. The maintenance guys were very nice and as responsive as they could be with the amount of issues at this place, I hope they do everything they can to keep them as they were a big reason I gave two stars. There was a change in the property management company while I was living there, so I’ll be fair and leave my complaints about any issues I had prior to the new company taking over out. On top of rent you pay a fee (amount depends on your unit size) that’s supposed to cover water and hallway cleaning. The hallways are disgusting though. I’ve been in multiple buildings and they smell like mildew and rotten food. New management says they’re slowly making changes, so I recommend doing a walk through of your actual unit and building before signing anything. Maybe not the absolute worst place you could live in Kalamazoo, but I do recommend looking elsewhere if you can. Location is nice and convenient, I’ve only had 2 bikes stolen from my patio if you’re worried about safety, but I didn’t have them chained so really that was my own fault.
I enjoy my apt itself but for the price there are no outside amenities and my electric bill is astronomical
David and Jeremey are the absolute best maintenance guys! Extremely professional! David took his time patching up not one, but two holes in my celling due to upper unit leaking, as well as anything else I could find for them to do while I had them present. Jeremy also came about a month ago and put in a completely new W/D unit for me. Amazed by the timely fashion as well as the dedication and follow through to get the job done! Simply amazing! Thanks again guys.
Lived here going on four years now within the last 6 months landlords have switched and not for the better. Haven’t been able to reach the office by phone if you have an issue about anything you have to put in a maintenance request just to get a response (even if it’s not maintenance related). Rules are not enforced expect lots of loud music at all hours of the night and kids running up and down the halls like they have no place to live, bug infestations to go unattended, doors that are supposed to be locked left open swinging in the wind. If you want a party place with no rules this is it if you want to keep your sanity look elsewhere. 🤯
After new owners taking over, nothing has been done to the very unclean buildings, yet they’re charging 2021 prices but I’m still living in a 1990 apartment. Does not match up. They are not new or remodeled, they are old and the hallways are filled with cobwebs and dust. The hallways haven’t been vacuumed in at least a month. What are we paying an extra $100 in rent for when you guys do nothing to improve these apartments?UPDATE:I left this review 3 months ago, no improvements have been made. It’s actually gotten worse, if you could believe it. They took away the trash cans outside of the buildings, for what? Too lazy to change them? Old management had a crew working every morning to pick up trash. I think it’s time to start calling the health department because this place for a fact is under MANY violations.
Edit: Loud banging from the boiler shakes my entire apartment every 10-20 minutes. Its been 18 days like this. But hey, no more bikes in the hallways.Easily one of the worst places I have ever lived. Water is frequently shut off without notice and the leasing office does not return phone calls or voicemails. Noise complaints will be ignored. Do no live here if you need to sleep at night as if you have a loud neighbor, nothing will ever be done about.
They’ve been so helpful and understanding throughout COVID. The maintenance workers are efficient and very nice! It’s right by a big park and lake, great for walking!
JC the maintenance supervisor is very professional and makes sure he gets things done in a timely matter. They have the property looking great. Would definitely reccomend!
The maintenance supervisor he was respectful and well knowledgeable and cleaned up after my self very well.
They refuse to fix problems in the buildings causing it to be unsafe and not liveable. Avoid this apartment complex
I have lived here for almost 2 years and the apartment itself is not bad but I have had have had several issues with management and maintenance. They are incredibly slow to respond to maintenance requests, If they do respond at all they don’t usually fix the issue properly. The new management are incredibly rude to residents. They change the door code without telling residents. They basically told me it’s not their problem and they will change it whenever they like, because of this I have had issues with deliveries.
I moved in late December, I was originally frustrated because the people above me would take a bath and my entire bathroom would flood . The original maintence staff I reported the issue to three different occasions and they always claimed to “fix it “ I was starting to feel super frustrated . They brought in new staff, and Dave came by and it turned out to be a HUGE three day project . But he redid the whole thing and fixed the prior “patch job “ he was extremely friendly and effficent and even became friends with my two year old who always was curious to what he was doing . He didn’t get agitated, he was very kind and helpful . Would give Dave a 5/5 and would recommend this place just based on the new maintence . Very responsive and professional . The first night I called in they started to fix the leaks right away !
I have lived at Lakeview for 15 months and it is really great. The maintenance always gets taken care of well and in a timely manner. The ladies in the office are always super helpful and nice. When I moved in everything was perfect. The washer and dryer are so convenient and the kitchen is awesome. I would still live here if not for a job out of town.
Great place to live. Pet friendly, management is respectful and understanding. I’ve never had a problem since I moved in 3+ years ago. Plus they’ve recently add security and surveillance which adds a welcoming sense of comfort!!! Would highly recommend also the leasing manager Ashley will do everything she can to help and make it smooth process!
I can’t say enough. The office staff is the best part of this community. Brittany and Ashley have always helped me with anything I need. Going on our 3rd year living at Lakeview, and it’s all because of them. Thank you for being great!!
The girls in the office are SUPERB! They always ensure their residents are taken care of and satisfied. Definitely a family vibe in this community. Highly recommend :)
This are the worst apartments complex ...I recently move in November 2, my kids and I haven’t been able to sleep since then my upstairs neighbors are up all night making all kind of noises, I been in the office 3times even spoke to the manager in charge they don’t care they have done nothing they only gave me a number to call after quite time to call for a security guard to try to make things better but they don’t answer and the voicemails is not even set up ...so no I definitely do not recommend this apartments it all..
I lived there for a year paid a nice amountIn deposit to move in. I moved out and haven’t received,My deposit I’ve called and stopped by twiceI’m very upset with the manger in the office.
I was only able to live at lakeview for a short period of time but the management team here is absolutely amazing every time that I have had an issue with anything. Also the maintenance requests were always filled within 24 hours of any complaint that we had. As for the security I love knowing that every knight my vehicles and myself are safe due to someone always keeping an eye out for us. With that being said the experience I had here has been way better than any other apartment in the Kalamazoo area.
We have been here about 6 months. After reading the bad reviews Im assuming someone bought it out or they replaced the staff. I think it also depends on the building you live in. Id try to get one thats more up toward the front. Security is now a retired police Sargent, staff is friendly whenever Ive had to deal with them. They misplaced our first months rent but I had the money order receipts and they were fine with that. Didnt give me any issues afterward. Its a nicely groomed complex. Maintence is always tending to the grounds, doggie friendly and cleanup stations are frequent. They do drive around daily and tow those in resident parking without a sticker, but they put up notices on all the buildings. As far as communication they are pretty good about that. I havent had any issues living here. My apartment is nice and I Generally feel safe. The lake trail is a bonus too, we have a dog so it is convenient.
Really nice place to live with a lake practically in your backyard. Extremely pet friendly and nice neighbors! I love living here and have lived here for almost 4 years now.
I would an have recommended these apartments to several friends. Best place I have lived in the last 5 years hands down. Ashley the leasing manager will make everything smooth an pleasant from the start to every month when you pay rent or need any maintence done in your home.
Finally feel like home. Safe and secure with like minded individuals. Everyone has gorgeous dogs, my kids love it!! Wish I wouldve moved here sooner!💖
Been around Lakeview for years!! Have seen it change only for the better!! Maintenance is always prompt and the girls in the office are super!! Great community and always loving all the different dogs !! So very blessed to call this safe community home ❤️!!
If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. I have lived here for two years, and of all the apartments I have lived in, this place was the flat out worst. Everything is terrible. The staff is a joke. Not friendly, and they dont hardly do their job. One month we paid rent a day before the first of the month and a couple of weeks later we get a notice on our door that we hadnt paid rent/eviction notice. I call and they were so condescending. I brought the receipts and they hardly believed me. It turned out that their accountant was on vacation. Since she was on vacation we had to suffer for it. They never called and told me it was resolved either, so I called them Worried that they still hadnt fixed it, no apology or anything they just said it was fine now and hung up. They dont call back ever. Its only gotten worse in the two years Ive been here. They used to have decent security but now its just young kids probably fresh out of high school by the looks of them. they dont do their job. I have had my car broken into two times with items stolen and my windows shot out another. What does the security do around here?! We have suggested they get security cameras outside and they always say we have tried that, it didnt work. Yeah right. Typical office people. They dont listen. And the quality of the actual apartment units may seem okay at first, but its not. Leaks everywhere. Crazy people living around here. The halls are never cleaned and there is always garbage. The people next door smoke inside and I have called about it several times and they have done nothing. I have seen her in her apartment smoking when her husband left and I happened to be walking by. Its so frustrating! And I have plenty of other stories about how crappy the staff are. Nothing gets done around here and its just getting worse. Please dont move here. Its the absolute worst.
Living at Lakeview over the past year was a extremely pleasant experience, the staff where very understanding were able to squeeze me in a apartment last minute. Overall living there was smooth sailing any situations that occurred where taken care in a professional and timley manner. All maintenance issues were always taken care of quickly as well. They are pet friendly which is a bonus, not to far from downtown Kalamazoo. Suggest highly for young professionals and family friendly.
I have been living here for 6 months now and have had zero complaints. By far the best price in the area for the square footage of space you get plus all the amenities! I have a two bed/one bath – Large bedrooms, big open floor space as far as living room/dining room, and the front closet as well as the laundry room is a nice added space for any storage! Very pet friendly and respectful community. Maintenance has been great – I always see people on the grounds cleaning up and Ive only had to get a light bulb and battery in the thermostat replaced and they were on it the day of. The front office management is always friendly and quick to help! Oh – and having the lake/trail in your backyard is a wonderful bonus to the property too. :)
I have lived here for four years in May. If I were to write this review 6 months after I first moved in I would have, without question, given it a zero, and the only reason I did not move out those years ago was because I was fresh out of college and trying to make it.What changed my mind, was when the (insert explicative) manager retired. He was rude and condescending and did not seem to care about the issues that were occurring. Since he has left, the security around the complex has gotten better, they have resurfaced the parking lots around the complex and the grounds in general are nicer to walk around and enjoy when it isnt winter. Maintenance is also quick when there are issues that need to be addressed.Hopefully in the spring, they will have the dog park fenced in and opened up, because I think it will make a more enjoyable experience for my pup.One thing to remember is that this is an apartment complex, you are going hear your neighbors, you are going to run into issues with being able to get your favorite parking spot, and since this is a large complex there are going to be issues with the hallways being cleaned up. If your are looking for those commodities, maybe you should reconsider living here, but if your are looking for a warm environment and a spacious place to live consider coming here. It really is not as horrendous as the other reviews have posted.
I have lived here for 2 and a half years now, I love it here, great office staff, maintenance is always prompt and voicemails are returned. Paved walkways and animal friendly. Plenty of potty bag wastebasket stations with dispensers. Lots of parking!
Very good place to live, everything seemed very correct I would only add bicycle parking
Ugh, where do I start with this place. The way they advertise this place makes it seem so nice for a great price... Nope. Not sure how they are still advertising access to the Lake and trails when theyve locked off the access several months ago, not to mention posting a very condescending note on the gate to tenants from management that started out with To the Morons... So unprofessional. But thats basically a summary of the management of this place, a complete joke. Office workers are typically rude and zero help. Ive called the office numerous times during hours with no answer, phone calls not returned, only to drive over there and have the manager sitting there.. When I asked why my calls werent answered his reply was that he was the only one there... ?? So you cant answer a phone, isnt that your job?? It took months before our dryer was fixed because they didnt want to order the parts for it.... Maintenance flat out told us that there were several others whose dryers werent getting fixed because management didnt want to spend the money. What exactly does my rent cover?? They dont keep the hallways and grounds clean at all. Usually trash everywhere. Basically no security... The outer doors to our building were busted repeatedly and left unlocked so anyone could get in.. The only thing they did was post a sign for a reward to find out who was doing it.. Maybe install some cameras or watch the buildings better?? Come on! Weve had issues with the water in our apartment many times. The water comes out rusty/dirty and frequently the hot water is off. A few times Ive learned only after calling the office repeatedly that it was turned off for maintenance.. Shouldnt that be something tenants are made aware of beforehand?? Bottom line: this place is more of a hassle then its worth; keep looking.
Great place to live in kzoo. We’ve lived here for 2 years and it’s been a solid experience so far. All maintenance issues have been resolved in a timely fashion and we’ve never had any other issues come up. The office staff are extremely kind and so are the maintenance guys. Walls are pretty thin, but it’s an apartment so what do you expect? Heat/AC isn’t the best either, but it gets the job done. Again, it’s an apartment so you can’t expect perfection with these kinds of things.
CANT WAIT UNTIL OUR LEASE IS UP!!!!!!We moved here from another city and we loved the layout of the apartment, price and that it was close to downtown. They also mentioned that there was 24/7 security....but WHERE???!? All I ever saw was a 17 looking year old sitting when we drove in at night maybe 2 nights a week. Yeah that made me feel real safe moving to a town I was unfamiliar with. Also my bike got stolen from our patio that was locked up. Our neighbor broke into his glass slider door when he was drunk. The hallways are disgusting. Strangers are constantly wondering the hallway because residents leave the main doors open because they are too lazy to go open the doors for their guest because each apartment does not have door buzzers. You can also never find a parking spot due to the fact that guest ALWAYS park in resident parking. Management has not done one thing about it. They state that they will start to tow care that park in resident parking, but I have never seen it happen. Dont be fooled by the nice pictures they post online like I was. This place is a nightmare, and I do not feel safe here.
I would give 0 stars if it were a possibility. Management is beyond rude and incoherent. No one in the office has a clue what is going on with available units or has a shred of customer service. Watch out if you choose to go sign a lease here... they will probably lease it to someone else before you get down there to sign the papers after they already approve you for it and tell you it’s yours. Sketchy, clueless, rude, money grabbers with little to no care about tenants.
I would never recommend this apartment to anyone. I lived here for 3 months and payed out of my lease to break my year lease because I hated it so much and Ive rented since I was 18. Upon move in I was already disappointed because the apartment was filthy and was lied to about the carpets being clean as there was other peoples hair and sunflower seeds everywhere. Parking is aweful. I cant ever find a parking spot when I get home from a long day at work. There is constant threats posted on the windows everywhere about parking and people breaking things. The walls are paper thin I could hear my neighbors having sex late at night. There has been cigarette smoke blowing in my windows when Im supposed to be in a smoke free building. They basically approve anyone to be here and the kind of people that hang around here are shady and I dont even feel comfortable with my car being parked outside my apartment. Yesturday I was moving some of my things out and there was literally a giant mushroom growing on the side on the trim in the hallways because of mold and moisture. Stay away and dont give your money to these people.
If you want your apartment flooded and mold in your windows & a property manager that could careless this is the place to move. Oh lets not forget you may possibly come home to not having a parking spot! Water is FILTHY I wouldnt even wash a dog in the water. All those people care about is taking people money. Im pretty sure the living condition of those buildings and apartments are ILLEGAL!!!
Friendly staff, maintinence is very polite and quick, prices although not super cheap are very reasonable for the area. Would definitely recommend.
Do not move here absolutely awful every bit of it. From maintenance to the manager. There disrespectful and have no value for you and your property.
Great
I have lived at Lakeview for 2.5 years now and have felt safe and comfortable during the whole time. Maintenance requests have always been handled quickly and thouroughly. Michael, in Manetenance, is amazing. The administration has gone through many changes over the 2 years, but right now those working in the office are all competent and couteous. The rent has increased every year since I have moved in, but they do give a discount to those that renew their lease. They make an effort to keep the parking lots and green spaces look good.
Terrible place. They towed my mothers car, claiming it was abandoned but it had the sticker on it. The car wasnt abandoned she just has two cars so she drove the newer more. When we moved in she was constantly nagged about me getting mail sent here, and about me living with her. I guess college students arent allowed to live with their parents here. The apartment was FILTHY when we moved in. Absolutely disgusting, it smelled weird, cabinets were breaking and lamenants were pulling up from the counter. Also they gave her a $50 fine for sitting the trash outside our door until she was ready to take it out to the dumpster. The fine was posted on the door AFTER the trash had been taken out HOURS ago.!Never any parking. Will tow tenants cars before they tow cars from guest parking that arent being driven. They find anything to complain about and its not worth it for the staff and conditions of the building.Been here for over a year. Only thing good is the price, yet the price isnt worth it for the conditions of the apartment.Recommend that you do not stay here.
I have an appointment with them to see the apt but they ignore me and no body comes they don’t have respect for time value
Apparently I was scammed or my psyment was lost by the old management from 2016 (we lived there 2015)... almost an entire 3000... which I dont have proof of because most of the payment was made from money order bought by mostly holiday gift money and savings...now the current management are threatening to send it to collections and ruin my freaking credit(a whopping 3 years later with no contact until 7 weeks ago)... stressful and frustrated isnt even the word... long story short... this place is very unstable and (idk about these new ppl because they arent very understanding and kind of rude) but the old management was super sketchy when I lived there.... I really am wondering if this sort of thing has happened to other ppl from this place
Not honest people took my deposit and send me to colction for no reason whin i moved out i clean the apt realy good and they say carpet dirty . off course carpet dirty i lived 2 years what you excpect new carpet whin i moved out .? so be prepare to get colction after you move out
Rent is too high for what you get. Thats minor compared to the bill I got on my door for, and I quote flooding the apartments around you. They tried charging me $100 for their leaky pipes. On top of that they lied to me and told me they dropped off several notices prior....FLAT OUT LIE! I clearly dont trust these people now and have lived here almost three years!! Nobody is going to fenaggle me out of my money. I wont be signing another lease with them.
The worst apartments in town. If you want to hear your neighbors then move in. If you want to smell cigarette smoke and pot in non smoking buildings then move in to Lakeview. If you cant pay your rent on time then be ready to go to eviction court.management does not take care of any problems in the buildings but the will constantly threatening you regarding money and so forth. Stay away from Lakeview.
Would never recommend anyone to live there, the water always has dirt where you cannot drink, the apartment complex half ass security watching residence however theyre out smoking in undesignated areas. No where to park. Worse of all the washer and dryer is a joke, you can only wash or dry but not both.
Friend lived there, plenty of public specticals, super tough lease because the area gross is halfly based off of gull lakes.
TL;DR - This place is great, check em out for great price and location! There are bunch of really poor reviews on here, but maybe they changed management in the last 6-8 months or something. My biggest recommendation; go in and talk to them and see for yourself!General Review -I have been here for 5 months, and I love it here. Its nice that Spring Valley Lake is behind the complex, which now has a very nice disc golf course. Lakeview is also quiet, as its nestled back into the neighborhood near Borgess Hospital. Ive been living in Kalamazoo for the majority of my life, and these apartments are among the cleanest and nicest that Ive lived in.When I moved in, the dishwasher worked, but wasnt screwed to the countertop, and there were two outlets that werent working for whatever reason. I put in a maintenance order, and they were all fixed in two business days. They also have a grounds crew that is out every morning making sure to empty garbage cans, and keep the parking lots clean.Theyre oddly particular about how you can/cant park in the parking lots (because they have courtesy staff who check the parking stickers at least every couple of nights or more. For example, you cant back into a parking spot, or theyll leave a note on your car warning you not to do it again. The guest parking area by my building seems to fill up quickly, so Id ask them specifically about parking by your building if you choose to go take a walkthrough. This place is pet-friendly to the extreme. I see many people with large dogs, but Im not sure about breed restrictions that they might have. Either way, there are little paved walkways in between buildings that zig zag through the complex, and they have doo-doo bags and trash cans around, too. People are generally really good about cleaning up after them. Not only do I like the tenants and my neighbors, I also like the staff. Theyre friendly and theyve always treated me respectfully, even when my rent was almost 10 days late in September. I mean they werent super happy about it, but they wont hold it against you if you mess up one month. Finally, these apartments are also very affordably priced... I am in a 3 bedroom with 2 full baths and pretty huge living room for $885/month. Split two ways with my roommate, we pay less than $450 and we have so much room we made an office. The kitchen is narrow, but there is a ton of cabinet space, and big old closets that all have swinging doors (not the screechy, track-guided, folding closet doors). The other thing about the cost, is that there is a shared utilities cost that is added to rent. I have never seen it above $56, but havent lived here through the winter yet. The way it works is that the utilities cost for the entire complex is totaled, then divided based on the size of the apts (sq.ft. Im guessing) and split up. This covers some utilities, but not others, so you still have a Consumers Energy bill, too. Its worth asking more about! If you want to know about anything else, I recommend stopping in... but beware, the leasing office is on the south side of Gull, and the apartments are on the north side of Gull, so dont get lost.
Worst place ever. Hallways STINK. We had holes in the ceiling of our hallway and the floor was dug up and holes. We didnt have hot water for days. It was horrible! My dog was eaten by a vicious dog they allowed to live there.
I hate living here. My apartment flooded 5 times and then a pipe burst upstairs a month before my lease was up. It then collapsed the cieling, flooded and, destroyed almost everything I owned. Their solution was to dry the floor and let me stay in a model unit. and still make me pay my last months rent. Wth!! I missed work, went without internet etc and was still paying for it all. Not to mention I had to replace everything I owned. Property manager steve promised to pay for the electric the camelot cleaners used. It totalled $98 in 7 days. He then later refused to pay for it even though I was not living there. Maintenance here is a joke. The halls smell of mold . Only good person here is Ashley in the office. You can tell, she wishes she could do more.
DO NOT SIGN THE LEASE!!!1. Maintenance does not get done. No matter how serious the issue.2. Bi-weekly notices and unprofessional threats of eviction.3. The lack of security. (Supposed security is never seen.)4. Horrible ground keeping. The halls smell like weed, mold, wet dog, and garbage. (Cant wait to see what it smells like in the warmer months.)5. Good luck finding parking when you get home.I can go on and on, but let me give you the simplest of examples...In early December, I moved in. The day I was moving in, they were doing some repairs to the apartment. While he was there, I noticed my sliding door does not lock. I pointed it out to him and was told The part is on order. and You dont really need that lock anyway. He then told me one of his guys would be by to put the screen on.Near the end of the month, I made a rent payment in the office and I pointed out the tings in my apartment I still needed fixed and the door was number one. She told me she would have someone go fix that right away....guess what is still broken in March. I have told them 4 times now and eac time it is a new excuse and another month of me worrying if I am going to come home to an empty apartment.Spend the extra couple bucks and get a good apartment with a credible staff. Trust me....It is worth it.UPDATE****SINCE MY LAST POST, I RECEIVED a letter from the management saying they know I am smoming in my apartment. Suddenly, I am being singled out for something I dont do...but hey....I guess when you hit then close to home, they need to try something.I told the STEVE COOK director of operations they were off base, and he told me if I didnt like it, I could get out. I left them a vm (because they didnt answer the phone when I called right back after being hung up on) telling them I would need it in writing that they would release me from my lease as the director of operations stated on the phone if I decided to leave. Probably going to get a threatening letter in a few weeks. Or an evicrion notice....who knows. Trust me....you do NOT want to live here.
Well to start the first year I lived here there was no problems . Then I upgraded to a 3 bedroom and its been done hill ever since. The maintenance, night security and some of the people in management are a joke. I was told that the 3 bedroom I moved into had new carpet that was only 6months old and come to finder out its not and has major stains and paint splatters all over it. Then I got a parking ticket for no parking permit when I had one butt one of the employees where also elegant parked in a handicap spot and nothing was done about it. There is also things that have needed to be fixed since I moved in and nothing has been done like they said they would. Plus I am sick of my down stairs neighbors bitching every time they here a little noise and night and getting wrote up for it when we did nothing wrong.. I regret singing this lease and over 900.oo a month has not been worth it at all. Its also sad when the former head maintence guy bitched about how tight the office is and just hungry for our money. I will not be signing another lease and I am almost tempted to try and legally get out of this lease due to the fact they are not holding up there end of the deal or following and enforcing there own rules ..Update.. Nothing has changed and the neighbors downstairs have been constantly harassing us over the phone and Facebook. Yet we complained to the office and they wont do anything. Yet after the second complaint the office rights us up after the downstairs neighbors told a lie about us cause we been ignoring them.. I will confirm what other people have said in there reviews that are not good is true!! I will not recommend anybody to live here unless you like the feeling of living in the low income ghetto with out the low income price.. Dont be fooled on the pics you seen online cause the apartments they show you look way nicer then the ones they put you in!! Plus the pics of the lake they show is not the view from the complex either!! Plus Half the time you cant even get down to the lake cause they like leaving the gate locked ..
Building #6 is terrible. I know some people claim other buildings are nicer than some but for myself #6 is the worst. Brief list as to why.1.Contaminated water - 4th time Ive had brown water/bad pressure/no hot water. When I called the office, they told me they found a problem with it and put signs on the outside of our building this morning. When I wake up in the morning and try to brush my teeth and brown water comes out its frustrating. Who wakes up and goes to the outside of the building first? Maybe a friendly phone call would be a better way of not getting residents ill.2. Incompetent maintenance crew. - good luck having someone who actually knows how to maintain property. They dont even go around and pick up trash that is throughout all buildings outside.3. THIN, paper thin walls. I hear my neighbors phone ring, when they sneeze or snore. You better believe I hear every argument too. As another review listed I too almost was evicted for an incident where my dogs bowl fell from the top of the fridge for being too loud. The eviction notice showed up in my mail box 2 weeks after they wrote it and I checked daily. Best part about the eviction notice it was for a girl named Ashley. It wasnt even filled out to the correct person.4. If you want to feel like your dodging obstacles in a video game, youll enjoy the one way parking lot filled with pot holes so deep you see pipes running through the cement.5. Poor insulation in all buildings. Lakeviews solution? Have the residents set up consumers for their apartment and everyone in the building share the consumers bill for the hallway and building lights. Money hungry indeed.6. Once my boyfriend ordered $100 dollars worth of stuff from Amazon (fish tank, Brita filters, a game etc) it was taken to the office and Jessica signed for the package. So I know without a doubt it was delivered here however the package was no where to be found. Jessica did nothing to help me try to find or retrieve the package.7. Overall, I regret signing this lease. The staff is great at pretending like they care and as soon as you sign your initials and name 50 times all of that goes out the door. You arent looked at as a person, more like a money sign. Unlike my usual self I signed it in a hurry without taking the time to really look into what I was getting. They do a great job on selling you an apartment that youll think will be exactly what you hoped for but it will end up being a long year of all your worst nightmares come true. Rethink this apartment complex before signing.
I had nothing but a good experience here. Clean when we moved in. Hallways were always up kept. Neighbors were not terribly noisy. Matience always answered in a timely fashion. Our landlords were nice and they patroled at night. Washer and dryer in unit. Awesome huge park behind complex with great trails, parks, grilling and fishing. Wasnt directly on gull rd so that was a plus.Parking lot wasnt the greatest. But it kept people from speeding thro. Which is nice expecially if you have small children.
People of Kalamazoo take your business elsewhere! I would not recommend living at Lakeview Apartments. I have lived in this complex for over a year. I find that the STAFF at Lakeview makes this complex a very frustrating place to live. The staff at Lakeview are very unhelpful and rude. Most communication that comes from the office is condescending and disrespectful. (In one case the staff posted a memo that read To the MORON who...). Also, the staff occasionally close the office without letting tenants know, making it difficult to pick up packages.I have had numerous issues with the washer/dryer unit and the dishwasher. My dryer has been broken for months--taking 6+ hours to dry a load. Ive requested it to be fixed 3 times. Every time the response is that You must not be using the machine correctly. It works fine. (Thanks for gaslighting me, Lakeview). I gave up trying to get it fixed because the staff doesnt listen to me.Also, the walls are paper thin. I can hear just about everything that goes on in my neighbors place--their music, conversations, tv, even coughing! Its not that my neighbors are rude or noisy, the building was just not made very well.I wish I had never signed a lease here. There are much better places in town to live.
Reasons why not to live here:1. Potholes are out of control on ALL streets2. There is visible garbage in common areas. In fact, the chain holding the door to the hallway in my building has broken, so it has been kept open with a pile of garbage for months. It is just not a priority.3. The staff is unprofessional and uses empty threats to try to manage tenants (i.e. Notes written with poor grammar, and improper spelling, in all caps, threatening eviction on all tenants doors, and my favorite note from the staff addressed: TO THE MORON WHO KEEPS STEALING THE LOCK)4. The maintenance staff can be counted on to fix that leak, but it will take them two days to do it. While they are there they will have to hire someone from an actual plumbing co. to do the work. One of the men will continue to say disparaging remarks to the plumber he had to hire, such as Keep working hard and maybe one day you will get a real job. After the plumber leaves and you realize you are alone in your apartment with two strange men who are supposed to be professionals, they will realize your fears by arguing between themselves about what time one of them needs to leave to get to the grocery store in time. One of them will slam the door, shaking your entire apartment, and the other employee of Lakeview Apartments will follow suit and slam the door equally as hard, again shaking the apartment. They nightmare isnt over because they will stand outside of your open sliding glass door and continue the argument on your patio. It could happen to you because it happened to me, right here at Lakeview Apartments in Kalamazoo, MI5. The staff is untrained, and misinformed.6. Do not lose your key unless you plan to get a hotel room that night. The key fobs take one day to replace and you cannot have a spare, even if you are willing to pay for it.7. The hallways smell like a kennel. ALL YEAR LONG, but its worse in summer. Gross.8. The water for our entire building is frequently shut off without notice to maintain pipes and fix leaks. This is an ongoing issue. It really blows when youre in the shower, head full of shampoo and your water unexpectedly shuts off (first thing in the morning when 90% of the residents here are getting ready for work).Reasons to live here:1. You are living in poverty and you need low rent housing and Lakeview Apartments is (literally) your only choice.
Dirty poor quality apartments, rude notes to the tenants. High moving out costs for cleaning. Parking can be a nightmare.
You dont want to live here. Management and office staff could care less about the tenants. This place is turning into a dump!!
Do not move here. They are hungry for money and will charge you outrageous fees. The building is poorly maintained and they cut corners when attempting repairs. The office staff are rude.
