Love this salon! Great prices for downtown Jersey city. Its even cheaper than some places in NYC. All tools used are brand new and clean. Love the honey lemon tea and relaxing pedicures.Only downfall is they only have certain technicians who work certain days so you might not be able to get SNS or acrylics when you walk in without an appointment.

Some staff is good but most quit. Management non existent and like a revolving door. Not nice. Weird or fake. Salon is very nice inside but very poorly managed. Many times I came they don’t have enough staff working to take you. Many people come in the salon and are turned away because the managers don’t know how to manager staff and customers. Not very customer oriented place. Sad because I live very close and would love to go there. I hope they improve. ASAP. Some of the staff does a great job but it’s overshadowed by poor management. Owner should really come to salon and see how it is or higher good manager.

This business seems to get mixed reviews, but Ive always enjoyed my experience at Floris in Jersey City. Its sometimes crowded if you dont make an appointment, but they are quick to move you along while still providing quality service. The location is clean, serene, and comfortable. The offerings of nail color (Essie regular and Essie quick-dry, longer lasting gel), manicure and pedicure services, and spa/massage are also plentiful. Ive only have a positive experience at Floris, including most recently under the new management. I hope it continues!

I went to Floris once about 1.5 years back and got an average pedicure. But after reading the “new management” sign and reading mixed reviews, I decided to give it a try again because I live just upstairs and it’s very convenient. I had a very good experience this time. Pedicure was good and I’m happy they have improved.

I was wary of coming into this place after reading the reviews. I work about a block away and have been to many other spots downtown. My usual spot was pretty busy so I decided to check this place out. I was warmly greeted and my jewelry was complimented as well as the color I picked out. The manager or owner lady (that’s an assumption) offered me refreshments and was very kind. The lady who did my nails was very quiet but focused on the work she was doing and she didn’t miss a beat. I am very pleased and will be returning. After all, this IS the closest salon to my job! Thank you, Floris Spa!

I have never had a worse experience at a nail salon in my LIFE. DO NOT under any circumstances come here for a dip. I didn’t think to ask how much it costs. (My fault) Everywhere else they charge $35, so it didn’t occur to me that this would be any different. Well it was $55!! By the time I got home I realized the manicure was rough, lumpy, and not shiny at all. By the next day it had all cracked and started to chip off!! She clearly didn’t do the process right. I called Friday afternoon and told them what happened and they said they only had one woman who does it so I could come Thursday evening. I had made an appointment for Thursday at 5:30. By Tuesday I was fed up of how terrible they looked (they were starting to tear my hair out too) and called to ask for a refund instead. I was told the manager would have to call me about this. They never did. Since I never heard back, I arrived at 5:30 on the dot Thursday. They told me it would be a ten minute. They did not see me until 6:05!!!! Didn’t even soak the nails off in that time. She starts and she’s clearly rushing and takes the foil off too soon and is filing the hell out of my nails to get the dip off. Now, remember, it’s chipped off in most spots so she’s ultimately damaging my actual nails. I told her it’s clearly not ready and that it needs more time. She doesn’t speak a WORD of English so I was trying to nicely say it in different ways but she just kept nodding, so eventually I took the foil/cotton/acetone and put them back on my nails myself. She takes it all off and starts the dip process. I asked her “Are you going to do anything to my cuticles?” She looked at me confused so I pointed. Nothing. So I took her cuticle tool and showed her what a cuticle was. Then she did that. She starts the dip process and I’m counting the errors. I almost walked out SO many times. Eventually she started filing the nails so unevenly that she took chunks out of the dip in certain spots. I showed them to her. She said “one more coat.” There wasn’t a coat in the world that could cover it. I finally decided enough was enough and I asked her to stop and just take them off. Her response? “No. Too long.” I said “Fine. Just put the top coat on so I can leave.” Then, this woman brings a UV light. I asked her what that was for and she said “top coat” I said “No, this is the top coat, and pulled the dip top coat (the bottles are literally numbered step by step) out and showed it to her. She nodded. So now I’m fuming. I tell her and whoever else was listening that I just need a refund so I can leave. Another woman walks over to me and said not possible because there is no manager here. So she calls the manager...They speak in their language before putting me on via the employees cell phone. I explain and she says that she remembered me. Shes telling me she can’t give me the money because she’s not there and the boss is in Korea. I just kept saying no as that was an unacceptable solution. She then had the audacity to tell me that if I would have made an appointment the service could have been performed better!!!!! My appointment for 5:30 must have been a figment of my imagination. I told her I am simply not leaving without $55 and that we didn’t need to discuss it any further. Then she said “Could you come to Edgewater tomorrow to get your money?” EDGEWATER?!?! This woman wanted me to spend 40 minutes on a train to get my money back! I told her she was out of her mind and that if she wanted this to end well, she needed to find a way for me leave with $55 in my hand. (Forget the $10 tip, I didn’t even mention that) She said she had to call me back. She phoned back and apologized for the bad service and said that they would be giving me my money back. I thanked her and told her I appreciated her doing whatever she had to to make that possible. I didn’t leave there until 7:45. Over 3 hours of actual TORTURE. Save yourself. Go to Grace Nail & Spa a few blocks away. They will treat you right.

Only because I couldnt give zero stars. I came in here at 6 pm. I got a decent pedicure and then a 5 minute manicure (both gel) for $90 before tip. you can get a much better deal a couple of blocks away in DTJC. The manicure is $25 and the color gel is additional $35 or something completely absurd.

This was my first and last time visiting this salon. I had about an hour free during my work day and wanted a manicure. I ran across the street to Floris, as it seemed convenient. I walked in and was sat down right away. I thought Wow, how perfect, no wait. I chose a gel manicure to minimize dry time. I have had gel manicures before and it took about 30-40 minutes. Well, it took this person ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES to complete a simple gel manicure. Never in my life have I spent that much time in a chair for a manicure. Even getting a full set of acrylics doesnt take this long. Another woman came in 15 minutes AFTER me, got a gel manicure with another technician and was finished 20 minutes BEFORE me. I now had to reorganize my entire work day to account for this additional 45 minutes. To make matter worse, when I went to pay she ran my credit card and the machine started making crazy noises and she looked confused and frazzled. She then said it declined. She handled me the slip and it said cancelled. I asked her to try re-running it as I know for a fact there was no way it had declined. She ran it again and the same thing (it showed cancelled not declined). Then she went and got a manager. The manager came out and said it declined. I pointed out the slips said cancelled, pulled up my account information on my phone to show my available balance. She then seemed annoyed and ran it again...wouldnt you know it was approved. Shocking. Then she turns and looks at me and says I guess you just made a deposit? How incredibly rude. No, your associate was not only struggling to do my nails but also clearly did not know how to use the credit card machine. I rarely write negative reviews but the service here was unacceptable.Save yourself time, money and aggravation....go elsewhere.

1st & last visit. Made an appointment for 12. Told them it was my lunch, even got there early. Put me in a chair right way. Wow! That was until someone they obviously new came in and said they needed a pedicure and didnt want to wait because ITS MY LUNCH. They but her in the chair next to me and left me soaking for an additional 15 minutes. I reminded them it was my lunch too!. She said they would be with me soon. I dont mind waiting but not 20 minutes, especially on my lunch. I dried my feet & walked out. They offered me a massage & to take me now but it was too late. The peace & tranquility of my pedicure was gone! I live here, work here & tried to support a new local business for naught. Nothing high end here. Just close to me. Rather go to mall.

Had a facial there. Horrible. I would give 0 star if Google allowed me. Ive been to 50+ facials at different places, and this one is the worst experience. Totally unprofessional. The old Korean lady has very bad manners and techniques, and she doesnt know what she was doing. Totally waste of time and money. What a rip off. Will never go back. I rarely give bad reviews on a business, but the experience I had today is unacceptable. Skip this place.

The guy that acted as manager is rude, while the girl who did my nails was actually sweet.I passed by the shop, he told me to come back in 30 mins, despite there was just one person and the place is huge. Fine, no prob since I didn’t book and I can’t have thoughts on how they are organized. But when I came back, there were 3 people having pedicure and one lady waiting for mani. He was actually working together with the other girl, so he could have told me to stay earlier. Anyhow...not my business how he manages his business, but he pretended not to remember me and asked again what I wanted. Another girl came in, and he let her before me “because she was here before” (so you remember me now!?). When he saw my disappointment, he said “you have to wait another bit”. I asked to quantify the “bit” since I had been there for 15 already. He replied 10/15 without even looking at me. I really needed my mani done for a work appointment the day after, otherwise I would have left but I waited all in all another 30.As said the girl was nice, and I feel sorry for her working with that guy. But I am also honestly used to better hygen standards.

Not all manicurists are professional. I was really upset with the guy, the way my manucure was done and looked it was worse than I do myself at home with my left hand. Not equal, uneven, cutticles painted as well.... Cherry did it from the new and it was perfect. She does very quickly, but the results are astonishing. I think I found my specialist. I will go to her next time.
