Excellent service, extremely sanitary and very thorough and friendly staff
Incredible. Clean, safe, friendly and do an amazing job. Thank you to the team!
The owner is very rude. She waited next to me as I picked my nail color and told me to hurry up and pick my color because she had another customer coming in….like I’m not a customer too! Ridiculous that they insist on breathing down your neck while you choose a color and then won’t let you touch the bottle. That is not how COVID is spread!!! She is always rushed and makes the atmosphere feel tense. Prices jumped up a lot as well post COVID. I think I’m done with them!!
Mixed review! Please read all of it 😊Got a basic manicure & pedicure for $45.Space - fairly busy but very clean. Everyone wore masks and things were sanitised. Ambience was friendly and full of plants.Manicure - was GREAT! My cuticles were perfectly trimmed and nailpaint was put really well. Done by the owner herself.Pedicure - Really POOR job. Maybe cause it was 5:30 and she was tried or she didn’t really care. She did get my ingrowth out well but she seemed really disinterested in shaping my toe nails or scrubbing my sole. I tried to tell her many times and eventually did it myself.Done by an employee called Bertha.I would definitely go back for my manicure and probably request another person for my pedicure.
Officially found my new go-to nail salon in Jersey City! Finally! I had such a great experience at J Nail & Spa. And I am admittedly very picky. It’s appointment only, which I really appreciate, and is incredibly clean and has such a calming and relaxing vibe. The salon is beautiful and so nicely decorated and taken care of. They’re still following covid precautions - everyone was masked and wore gloves, and since it’s by appointment only, they space the costumers out comfortably. Everyone was super friendly too. As soon as I walked in for my appointment, she greeted me by my name, and this was my first time there. I told her I was hoping for a very light, almost white blue for my gel manicure for my bachelorette party this weekend.. and she actually custom mixed me the most perfect color! I was SO impressed, and not just by how perfect the color turned out but by her taking the time to actually make me a customized color. Most nail salons would never do that. For my actual mani/pedi, I had Fanny do my nails and she was awesome. I love how perfectly my gel manicure came out and I also got the signature pedicure and it was heaven. Highly recommend!
Friendly, clean, professional and a great pedicure!
Great service! I came in during the week desperate because my place stopped doing nails during the week.I had a gel mani, pedi, and eyebrow/lip waxing. Decent prices and good service.I was pleasantly surprised, the place is huge and it’s a very relaxing atmosphere. They really take care of you. They even do a little shoulder/back massage during your mani and take their time to massage during your pedi.I will be back 😊.
I had a really lovely experience having my nails done here. I was a little apprehensive to go back to a nail salon during covid times, but they did a really good job of putting cleaning procedures in place and other precautionary measures to ensure a safe environment. They take your temp when you first arrive, and have hand sanitizer at the front desk. Everyone is seated with an extra space or two in between and they have acrylic shields between you and the manicurist. The nail technicians were wearing face masks and face shields, and were cleaning after every person. Overall I felt very comfortable being inside the space. There is no sitting at drying stations so that people are not spending extra time inside, but they are giving everyone quick dry top coats. Everything from start to finish, was run very smoothly and the manicure/pedicure came out great. I will definitely be returning soon.
Ive never changed salons since visiting Js. They are the best in the business. Well trained staff, pleasant atmosphere, and I always like the way my nails look.
Im giving this place a 1 star not because of the employees or its a bad place but because I paid a total of $120 for two basic pedicures. We didnt get anything special. We both got our toes painted white with gel nail polish but Ive never paid more than $40 for a basic pedicure with a basic color. The service was great and my feet look great but the price for a basic gel pedicure is ridiculous and they kind of force you to leave tips for the ladies that does your pedicure.
Such a lovely salon with great service and above and beyond covid precautions. Appointment only; temperature, hand sanitizer, clean pens, and signature that you haven’t traveled out of state by bus, plane, or train in last 14 days; point to color and staff takes it off the shelf for you; technicians wear gloves as well as masks; clients are spaced out; cannot sit and dry (so bring flip flops for pedi or buy for $2); tip boxes near exit for technicians; hand sanitizer and door opened by staff on way out.Not to mention a very tastefully decorated space!Prices are a few dollars higher than you might find elsewhere ($30 for regular pedi and $15 for regular mani), but totally worth it.
I just moved to the area and picked this place due to proximity to my apartment. They saw me right away (after scheduled appt), sat me down, and got to work. They were efficient but are way too overpriced for what they offer. Friendly staffNo dip powder and when I asked about acrylics they said 125??? Maybe there was a language barrier but I’ve been to places in the city where I pay no more than 35-40
They are taking every precaution possible to insure a safe environment. The place is spotless and so pretty. By far the best nail salon in town.
Spacious and clean. Well organized. They have covid procedures in place and everything under control. Staff is uniformly outfitted with masks, shields, and gloves. Very reassuring.
Beautiful service, from the moment you walked in. Especially during Covid, their protocol is on point. Big thanks to Maria for my wonderful massage and perfect mani-pedi.
Clean. Fast. Polite. Fair prices. Great atmosphere.
Salon is using very stringent safety protocols which help make your experience even MORE relaxing!
They always do a great job, and really try their best. The store is kept very clean and the staff is kind and they work hard.
Best Pedicure, Paulina and Maris are my favorites...great TLC😊👍
Ive been here a few times now (with different technicians each time) and Ive had very consistent experiences. Really great place. Not the cheapest, but good prices for a high quality service. My nails always look amazing but what I really love about this place and the reason they get 5 stars is that they are very focused on nail and cuticle health. I dont like my cuticles to be aggressively cut away, because they fray painfully and they also get hard as they grow back. But I dont like jagged edges or messy looking cuticles after you push them back either! I want a clean look with as little cutting as possible and they TOTALLY get that here. They also use proper implements to push back the cuticle and dont file the top of your nail bed unnecessarily. Also no acrylic here, only gel, so youre not breathing in crazy chemical fumes. You can just relax in your massage chair, soak your feet, and trust that they will get it right.
Can’t go wrong with a pedicure here. The A1 place on the other block is smaller, and uses a bucket and sofa rather than a pedicure spa chair. The chairs are in great condition, they make a point to ask about the water, give a good calf and foot massage, with a little back massage once you’re drying your toes.Little touches I appreciate:Warm towels for after they lotion you upLady offered to let me borrow flip flopsMassage chairsSanitation liquid dip for the tools right before useCould use:Tip line on credit cardsORVenmo/zelle!! Don’t make me pay atm fees!
Nice, modern and very clean salon. Their regular manicures last longer than other salons Ive been to. And they fixed my friends toes good as new!
It is a perfect place for getting your nails done. They have comfortable massage chairs and the people who do your nails are great! They also give you a nice soothing massage
I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone for following reasons:1. Unhygienic: The equipment is not sterilized. When I asked to use new or sterilized one, the proprietor, an Asian lady, gave me a hard time.2. Unskilled staff: The charges are premium as if the most skilled staff is present. However, the skill level is below avg.3. Injury: I had a part of my skin cut during the manicure. To this effect, the proprietor, an Asian lady, tried downplaying it even though it was profusely bleeding.4. Attitude: The proprietors attitude towards customers is just horrendous. She does not have a customer-first attitude at all.
Good service
I have been coming to this establishment for years! It’s the only place that gives me the best pedicures and perfect lil gel manicures!!!
This place is really nice however their product does not last long and it is over priced! I paid $75 for a acrylic fill-in with gel on Monday, it is Thursday (4 days later) and the gel is already starting to lift. Please save your time and your money.
Not very organized. Had pedicure and it felt rushed. My feet looked really dry afterward. I also asked for gel manicure when I walked in and I left without it. Only got feet done. They started taking other people before managing the time I was done with my feet. On top of that there was a girl that had a 3 o’clock appointment and they didn’t start tending to her until 3:30! Which goes back to not being organized and managing appropriately.
Walked in to get a simple mani & pedi. Loved the place! The ladies were careful and meticulous about my nails. Made sure my nails looked great and were completely dry before cashing me out, AND they carefully wrapped my feet to preserve my pedicure for the walk home. Highly recommend 👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent service and extremely friendly staff. They did an amazing job on my shellac Mani pedi!! Highly recommend!
Ive had a lot of gel manicures and they usually last 3-4 weeks. Here, it lasted 4 days. The service was good and my technician was very nice, but really cant justify a $33 gel manicure that doesnt even get me to the next weekend.
The gel manicure was a little pricey and it peeled off 6 days later. Ive had it done many times before and it stays for 3 - 4 weeks. Would not recommend.
Great service. Incredibly nice employees. One of the best places in Jersey City for sure!
Clean, gorgeous decor with exposed brick walls - staff was very sweet and accommodating. Great selection of regular polish and gel polish. Prices were fair and reasonable. This will be my regular go to place!
I have been coming here for over ten years and the service is excellent.
My experience here today was awful. I dont mind paying for good service, but I feel like I was ripped off. I had a regular pedicure which honestly wasnt good at all but I didnt say anything. The entire pedicure felt very rushed but Im not one to complain and say something, especially when someone is providing a service for me. When I went to check out, I was somehow charged an extra $15.00 to remove a little bit of old gel on my toes. When I asked why, she said Its a lot of work and thats the price. A lot of work ? It took her maybe 1 minute, but ok. Honestly theres so many other places to go. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere.
Always good service in this exceptionally clean and well run nail spa. Good polish selection, friendly technicians and lovely owners.
The Best in Jersey City. Very friendly staff, fast service and very clean. The owner is very attentive.
Found the owner very rude and biased! She kept on telling her staff in their language to finish fast fast fast. My nails chipped and i felt really sad walking out their salon. Will never go back. Big name but poor show.
Great customer service, clean, well kept space!
The staff was very friendly! They treated my grandma very sweet! This was our first time and I will be coming back.
I’m not sure why so many negative reviews. I walked in today with no appointment for a mani- pedi, was greeted right away. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. There wasn’t a wait either. I wasn’t rushed to pick a color and sometimes I can take forever lol. The wall of polishes is the most organized I’ve ever seen in a nail salon! The pedicurist took her time and did an excellent job (I’m super picky btw) and then I went for my manicure. Can’t remember who my tech was (Monica maybe?) but she gave the BEST hand massage I’ve ever received. Pricing wasn’t bad at all for a downtown salon. Will definitely be going back! 💅🏼🤩
My favorite nail salon in Jersey City. Owner is very friendly, great service and very clean.
Friendly staff. Its my first time here and I loved my experience. Will come back for sure
Worst gel manicure ever! She globbed it on and it was so thick at the tip that you could see and feel a bump. Needless to say it chipped the next day. They only fixed the nails that chipped after I asked for the whole set to be redone. 2 days later more nails chipped and they wouldnt give me my money back. Horrible..
Walked in to get a fill and one repairFound out they only do gel which was fineI was told I just needed a polish change and 1 repairThe girl did a great job but went I went to pay I just about fell overVery pricey73.00 !$35.00 for a polish change ?$13.00 to put an extension of gel on my thumb nail$20.00 extra fee for I’m not sure what$5.00 fee for something elseI was expecting to pay between 40-50 so $73.00 was definitely a stretch
My 8 year old neice was visiting from out of town and I wanted to try this spot out since my usual place was booked. If I could judge the staff separately, they did a pretty good job. However, the owner, who was the first person to greet us, made the overall experience very uncomfortable and almost dampened our mood. The place was fairly empty yet she was rushing us to pick a color as soon as we arrived. Next she stood in front of us micro-managing how many colors we tried on and insisted that I only try a speck and not the whole nail. She kept hovering over us through out the appointment. To add insult to injury, she charged extra because I picked a different color for one nail. No design - just a different color on my ring finger. In addition to the $37 for the mani-pedi which was very superficial, she charged an extra $15 to remove callus. I dont mind paying extra for good service but this experience was awful. Over-pricing and charging for basic things that should be included. Soo not worth the extra coins. Save yourself the hassle and go some where else!!!
Good variety, attitudes can be better though. Basic service for nails, nothing technical.
Telma was my lady to do manicure. I must say she is the worst ever skilled lady. A 15 year old girl will do 10 times better job than her.Telma doesnt know how to file, apply nail polish. And top of all this she was pretending to take out cuticle. I could see that with my eyes. I am so pissed on Telma that I couldnt resist leaving a comment on her.In addition, she was commenting about me to her friend next to her whenever I use to pin out her mistakes. Its a shame for J nails & spa to have her working and disappointing customers. I have been a customer since 2 years and this will be last experience over there. Good bye Telma and J nails & Spa
Good Pedi!! Great service!
Always the best service in JC
Poor service rude and not at all accommodating to clientele. Only positive is location off Grove Street JC
Clean but if you are looking for sanitized instruments dont come here. My friend went and the drying our nails took longer than the actual pedicure. It was like they were in a rush and no one was waiting. Got home and two nails were crooked!!! Never again.
Great place doin a great job
Visiting Jersey City and it was the best experience. Staff was friendly and patient.
Good service and reasonably priced.
Friendly staff and prices are ok, Gel Manicure needs work.
Nice clean and relaxing
Awesome
Great place and staff.
Great service!
WORST!
Very expensive for a regular pedicure and manicure $ 80!
