I have been at this apartment complex for a little over a year now. The grounds are always beautiful. I see staff daily driving around in golf carts picking up trash around the grounds. The online maintenance request portal is very efficient...any issues you have are submitted online and they usually get back to you that same day or very soon the next day. I have had a few various issues, such as my hot water heater needing to be replaced, etc...and they have always been quickly resolved. The maintenance staff and the leasing office staff are very friendly. The pools are great and the landscaping around the complex always looks lovely and is updated with each season. There are hired landscapers who come frequently to maintain as well. The complex is very pet friendly. I also like the convenient location...only 10 minutes to downtown and not far from other nice areas such as Jones Valley. There is a grocery store less than 5 minutes away and a gas station right outside the complex. For an apartment complex, I would definitely recommend it here. Being new to Huntsville, this has been a great first place to live.
I really like it here. Its clean and well lit. Great for walking. I like the pool too. The staff in the office are friendly and courteous. I love just stopping by the office for a cup of coffee and just to say hi. I do think people need to slow down while driving in the complex. From a verified resident on ApartmentRatings
The ladies that work in the office are very helpful and knowledgeable! Extremely pleased with their professionalism and kindness. Every time Im in the office I feel at home! The property is beautiful! The maintenance staff are very timely with addressing issues! Best apartment complex in Huntsville! Wish I could give 6 stars! Great job everyone! Kudos to your staff!!
I have lived here for a year and recently renewed my lease for another year. Overall my experience has been positive and I would recommend to someone looking for a new place. The good:-Great amenities-- 2 pools, 24/7 gym, Amazon lockers-Friendly and helpful office staff-Good response time on maintenance requests-Safe community-Convenient location but tucked away from the main roadsThe not so good:-Rent increased upon lease renewal (increased by about 5%)-Roaches, though pest control will be sent out to your apartment upon request-Creaky ceilings and thin walls can lead to noise from neighbors, especially in downstairs unitsMost of these minor complaints are issues that you might encounter at most apartment complexes. Overall H@LF is a great place to call home.
The staff is efficient efficient and friendly but the prices are high and unnecessary fees deposits are required.
The management team is amazing. They truly care about their tenants and learn about them. They always ask how my schooling is going. The amenities are great, especially the hub lockers. I just signed my lease here for year number 3!! 10/10 would recommend.
My family and I have been living at Hawthorne at Lily Flagg for over a Year, and we love it. Administration employees are awesome they treat you as family and always do their best to help with any concern or question. I recommend these apartments to anyone that is in search of a new home. There is also a sence of peace living here. Thank you for making this place feel like home. ☺
I moved to Huntsville with my daughters almost a year ago. I only saw pictures of what the apartments looked like. I put my full trust in Melissa and she was awesome during the whole process. I love the neighborhood and the school district is a plus. I am glad I chose this to be our home. Having a pool is a plus for my girls also. I would recommend 💜
Please see attached photos!!First and foremost, Mariah is amazing. She truly is a sweetheart. However, they have a roach problem. Two days after moving in 1/31, we have seen roaches almost everyday. Pest control does not work. We notified the front office of this issue and told them we wanted to break our lease and move out all in less than 30 days of moving in (the roaches and bugs are that bad). They would not accommodate this and waive the buy-out fee, ALTHOUGH we are NOT moving out on our terms. Then they wanted to put us in another apartment that cost more than the one we live in???? Doesn’t make sense. If they truly cared about their tenants then they either would have waived the buy out fee or put us in another apartment for the same price we pay now. The pictures are only a few of what I have in my camera roll.
I love this apartment complex. The staff are friendly and efficient. The property has the best amnesties I’ve seen and the complex and apartments are beautiful! I’m glad I chose Hawthorne as my home. 10/10 would recommend
These apartments are really great to live in. The management and maintenance are incredibly friendly and professional. Theyre never slow to take care of any issues or work orders. All of the amenities are well taken care of and cleanly.
I am a sub contractor for this beautiful property. The office and maintenance staff are the nicest and easiest to work for there is! They are always extremely friendly and hold themselves to the highest accountability! Thank all of you for letting us serve you and we are looking forward to giving you the best service possible!
This was the first apartment I had away from home. I enjoy that it is close to a grocery store and people I know. The rooms are great sizes and the staff are nice. The porches add a nice touch to decorate and be outside.
Beautiful community! I love the new renovations and gym. The staff and maintenance are great, they make it really feel like home!
Love the staff & maintenance. Everyone works hard to maintain the establishment. It’s a very peaceful community, perfect for kids & a small family. Love the area as well.
Staff, maintenance, and amenities are very nice!
The management and staff are exceptional. My apartment has great amenities and is spacious and comfortable. I feel safe here!
**NOT A RESIDENT HERE - APPLICANT ONLYI just want people reading the reviews to know that the rent prices on Lily Flagg’s website are not accurate. We were interested in the $885 2 bedroom, but when we went to tour, we found out the 2 bed is actually $985. The complex and apartments ARE gorgeous - however, not only did we find out the rent would be $100 more than we thought, we also found that we would need to pay $65 for my application, $45 for my fiancé, THEN also a $245 administrative fee??? AND, even though I emailed the manager and said due to all the extra fees we wouldn’t be going forward with the application process, and we did not give all the documents needed yet so we didn’t actually finish the application OR pay the entire application fee, yet they still ran my credit....... now I have a hit on my credit for an apartment I’m not interested in anymore. Just be aware that this place has a lot of hidden fees and will try to get much more money out of you than what is shown on the website. This gave us a bad first impression.
The most inviting environment, great amenities and super friendly staff. We love the modern and updated feel of our apartment and everything about the community!
I have lived at the property for around a year now, since the new management has taken over, there has been a community party thrown about once a month! Since attending the parties I have met some really great people, didn’t realize we had such great neighbors! Attended the barbecue tonight at the property! Thoroughly enjoyed all the free food provided by wonderful staff at lily flag, glad i can be a part of this community!
BBQ and Brew party last night was a huge success. Lots of residents attended, and the BBQ and Brews were awesome, and did I mention it was all free. Just one of several events provided by Hawthorne at Lily Flagg, that make it one of the best places in Huntsville to live. Great community!Perry B. (a 4 year resident.)
I love how close they are to everything. The ladies in the office are so sweet. We had an issue with our shower head when we moved in and maintenance came out that day and fixed it. We love it here.
The apartments are very nice. The staff is very wonderful. Melissa is great and very helpful. I love that the staff have different events for the tenants which I really enjoy. The only thing that I dislike that the price on rent always go up and my pay rate doesnt. Hopefully I will be able to stay in the community because I really enjoy the staff.
Beautiful apartments, soft carpets, and plentiful amenities. My roommates and I have been living here a few months and we really like it so far. Maintenance is pretty slow, the package hub is somewhat faulty (as well as online rent payments), and some of the hooks and handles in the bathrooms are cheaply made and tend to fall off. But as long as youre not deeply concerned about any of those things, this is a great place to live :)
I love my apartment!!! It has tons of room and everything is very well maintained. Thanks for all your hard work yall!!!!!
We have lived here for 4 months and the staff has been excellent and we enjoy the property!
The BEST place to live. The property management staff is easy to work with, FUN, and most of all care about their residents. There is an awesome community of people who live here and the apartment is well kept.
I would strongly recommend to anyone that they should not stay here.Within the first 9 months of our stay, we experienced:- Cockroaches in our apartment about 8-10 times. This is while having to pay an unadvertised, extra $25 fee for pest control. We have reported the occurrences of bugs and their pest control continues to fail to keep them out of our apartment.- 2 occasions of our ceiling leaking water during rain. After the first time, we submitted a maintenance request and it was supposedly fixed. But it happened again in the same spot some time later.- Multiple instances of the maintenance crew lying and marking maintenance requests as complete even when no workers stepped foot in our apartment. We had someone in the apartment all day from when the request was submitted to when it was marked as complete, no one from maintenance came in.- 4 instances of our water being shutoff, for various times ranging from 30 minutes to an entire day. Some have been intentional for maintenance, others havent. There was even an instance where the management did not send a warning of an intentional shutoff.- A situation where our apartment became invested with scabies. We requested that the apartment cover the cost for us to stay elsewhere over a weekend, as the CDC website reports that if someone infected with scabies can be away from the invested area for 72 hours, the scabies will die on their own. The apartment refused to offer us help of any kind, their claim being that scabies in the apartment was not their fault and they were not liable. I want to be fair and clear, they were probably right. All of my research about scabies indicates the same to me, that it was not negligence on their part that allowed them into our apartment. But for your own knowledge, be aware that this management staff is not willing to spend a few hundred dollars in order to offer a great help to their tenants, should they be in a highly unpleasant situation with their living space. Even when those tenants have already expressed other issues theyve experienced with the complex.I would like to add that the office staff have always been very pleasant and kind to us. But the issues weve experienced have been far to numerous and severe for their attitude to make up for and we will be moving out as soon as we can.
Always on time with maintenance. Friendly staff. Great place
Can’t keep the main pool open, waters turned green. Quality of residents has gone down significantly in the past year or so. Almost feels like I’m living in the hood. This used to be a nice place to live. What the hell happened?
The area is really nice and fairly quiet the lease office employees are nice. The only thing that is not good about the apartments is if you have any problems maintenance is extremely slow at getting to them. You can call many times and it’s so hard to get anyone to come fix anything that goes wrong.
Ive watched this property grow over the years and Im excited for where its headed! I love seeing them celebrate funny days like watermelon day or hot dog day They have worked so hard upgrading and adding in a new fitness center. The staff are wonderful and amazing to work with!
The property is beautiful and the ladies in the office have been extremely helpful!
I absolutely love our home here! We have been here a year and do not plan on moving until we are ready to buy!!! The management has exceeded all of our expectations as far as customer service and meeting all of our needs! They have fixed all of our issues in a matter of 24 hours and have been so polite and helpful to our family. This complex is very family oriented and very quiet! i recommend this place to everyone we know. we are so thankful for their help ! :)
Their new fitness room is great, and I love the apartment I’m in. Very cozy and great for the family, girls in the office have been amazing and very helpful!
Great place to live. Close to everything. Recently updated. Staff is awesome, professional and friendly. Apartments, grounds and gym are very nice.
I have lived here for almost two years and the changes they have made are great! My neighbors are quiet and everyone is nice. The lighting they put up a couple months back has really improved the parking area. The new maintenance guys are fast to respond and everyone in the office is really nice and helpful.
I absolutely love my apartment. I have a 1 bed 1 bath and its great! Rent is reasonable and people are nice! Staff is SUPER friendly and the new renovations arent bad at all!Definitely recommending these apartments to friends!
Lily Flagg has been such a blessing. From the apartment hunting process, to getting accepted, to now actually having the opportunity to live here..its all been so wonderful! The process is quick and easy and the leasing team takes as much of the stress of things off of me as possible when I was moving. I am in a previously renovated apartment so its not entirely upgraded but for the age of the community its GREAT!The new owners have completely turned this older community and turned it into a higher class apartment complex. The staff here is so sweet and helpful. Theyre honest with how long it will take to get things done and will always answer your questions with a smile on their face!I recommend this quiet and friendly place to everyone I talk to! 10/10 Recommend!
We moved out in December because we found a house. We handed in the keys and paid the lease-break fee the same week even though we had 60 days. We didnt make them wait for their lease buy-out, although I recommend that if you do break your lease, you make them wait. We just wanted to be done with this place. Fast forward nearly 3 months and we are STILL not done with them. They have continued billing out checking account even though I have been reassured TWICE that they have removed our banking information. Tonight I finally was able to access our account and discovered that our information is still there, and it looks like they are gearing up to charge us for another month of rent. They currently have $1500 of our money that is being held hostage by corporate and we hope to see it soon, since we were told it would be here mid-February. Then, when they charged the second month of rent they assured us the check would be written at the beginning of February. Dont move in here. Keep looking. Nothing against the office staff but the corporate office seems to be run by crooks.
I like how the apartments are not that expensive and that they will fix any maintenance problems when you ask.
I loved this place! I had the opportunity to live in two different floor plans on the property and they were both wonderful! The staff is amazing and is always so helpful when I needed assistance with anything! The leasing staff always helped meet our needs and the maintenance staff is great!Theyve been working so hard to make this place look and FEEL like home! So sad I had to move out this year! Definitely recommend!
This apartment complex and staff are amazing! Everytime we have had a mantaince issue it was resolved almost immediately. For instance, we had a leak in our apartment and called in after hours. 5 minutes later, an emergency maintenance man was at our door to resolve the issue. Top quality service, everyone including the tenants are friendly and a joy to be around. Affordable apartments and the safest place in Huntsville to be!
Ive lived here for two years and love it! The changes they have made since I moved in are incredible and I would recommend it to anyone.
They will not fix the mold. 1st apt flooded due to apt working on the water lines, Tracy Wiley the community manager wanted to put my furniture on blocks and use dryers to fix 3 inches of toilet water flooding for 6 hours and coming through the drywall. She wasnt going to let me move apartments. I highly doubt they ripped out the drywall. Most likely they painted over the water stains and moved the next guy in. Managed to get into a different apartment, but the roof is leaking into the living room, soaking the carpet every time it rains. Big brown mold spot on ceiling. I have been telling them since November, but I have yet to see any repairs done. I have been sick since November, due to the mold. Tracy says there is no mold, but there is a large brown moldy spot on my ceiling and the carpets smell like cat piss. Save yourself the medical bills. Do not rent here.
Our washer has broke 2 times
Get ready because you are about to get a major truth bomb! If you are a bad tenant, youre going to have a bad time. If you follow the rules and are respectful to the staff, this is going to be your dream apartment.TLDR: I lived here 11 months. Moved out because I bought a house. Never charged extra fees. Minimal bugs. Fast maintenance. Good amenities. Amazing staff. Happy customer. 10/10 would recommend.THE GOOD:I moved in last October. My boyfriend was in Florida at the time and he had to be on the lease but couldnt move up until November. The wonderful girls up front went out of their way to make sure we could get all of our paperwork done on time. We had a horrible neighbor and did have to call the security officer once, but everything got taken care of within the hour. Same with maintenance - very prompt. The updates are great, the pool, common areas, and even the parks have all been redone and they are GORGEOUS. Ive never had a problem with rent, mainly because I always paid on time. Once I was late on the water portion and since I had never missed a payment, they didnt charge me a late fee.THE BAD:I saw one bug in the 11 months I lived here and it was right after we moved in because the unit sat vacant. When we left dishes in the sink, we got drain flies. This is normal! If you dont keep your apartment clean, youre gonna have bugs!
I love the Salt Water pools!! Been living here for 5 months now and can’t wait to renew 😍
This is the worst place Ive lived in in my life. Even though we dont have any pets, the apartment is infested with fleas. I have flea bites all over my body. We keep notifying the management about the issue but they dont take it seriously. The most they do is to send the pest control to spray on Mondays only and you have to ask for it every week. The pest control guy is polite and professional. However the spraying doesnt help at all. I tried my best to express my concern about the issue but the staff doesnt seem interested to help. I dont recommend this place to anyone. They have had bug infestation problems since day one. The problem we are currently having with fleas, we had with roaches since we first moved in.Aside from the bug problem, everything in the gym is broken. The management is lazy and does not care for complaints.
This was where our first home was and Ill never forget that. The management ( before Hawthorne ) was not the best. Lived in one of the townhouses and things always seemed safe there. Then about 2 months before we left, our car was broken into during the night. We also had a few packages stolen off our front porch.
I moved in at the end of Sept 2018. Apartments are subpar but you get what you pay for, or NOT! Came home on one occasion to find a RAT that was HUGE! Complained to the front office and they sent an exterminator (which I pay approx $5/month in my rent for). He did a walk through and nothing more, no traps.....nothing. Did let us know he was here on complaints on rodents in the other apartments as well. Did a thourough inspection of apartment to find multiple holes in the flooring under the stove, dishwasher and hot water tank. Again complained and maintenance was sent. Could not even properly seal the holes, had to do ourselves the correct way! So now I get home from being on the road for a few days to find apartment is flooded because neighbor upstairs didnt turn off water after removing washer. Front office sent in company who placed fans and dehumidifiers in apartment to help dry up things. It was pointed out to them that the ceiling of bathroom as well as a wall needed to be removed for things to properly dry. Didnt get done, so they have NO care for peoples health. Not getting properly done exposes us to mold...and still nothing has been done about the rodent issue! Not even an offer from the front desk to put us in a hotel while the fans are running! THIS PLACE SUCKS AND DESERVES NO STARS!!!!!!
These folks are polite and efficient every time I speak with them - cant ask for better!
I have lived at Lily Flagg for about 3 months now and completely agree that the staff is not interested in helping, but just putting temporary band-aids over issues. I have not received an apology any time Ive called about an issue, but instead and argument and vague response that someone will look at it.Only a week after living there, I had an issue with my shower not turning off and it took two days before someone came over to fix it (despite my continuous requests). I was told they had other emergencies to handle. I did not get reimbursed for that water bill.Ive woken up to the water being off with no prior notice. I have spoken with other residents who said they were not notified either. Most recently, the water was giving off a terrible chemical smell, bubbling, and fizzing (obviously unsafe to drink). I was not notified they were working on the pipes and when I called to ask why no one had been notified, they blew me off as usual and told me just to let the water run until it was fine again. That water has never been fine.So far I am very displeased with this apartment complex based solely on the treatment from the front office.
Good place to live! Thanks to Brandon for being such a great maintenance guy!!
Beautiful community, updated amenities, great staff!
Absolutely awful! Management is terrible! Maintenance is below subpar.! And the new management is a joke!!! Cant wait until I leave in the next month!!! Save the hassle and find something better! Wish i could give them Zero stars!!!
Please have a supply of gallon water bottles. You will need it to bathe, cook, drink, etc. Every other month, there is always an emergency water shut off. No notice... Get ready to take a shower... Surprise!!! But no credit to your water bill because of the flat rate water bill. The Dollar Tree has large gallon jugs of water for $1. So, please stock up!!!
They are upgrading the whole community. Its very exciting
Terrible apartments. Woke up to a roach in our pillow one morning and maggots in our clean and empty sink! They made us put down a deposit then forgot we put one down because its only required if you are at a certain credit score. Lied about damage in our apartment and refused to refund us our deposit of $600. They turned off the water at least once a week for maintenance and it was off for at least 10 hours. Staff is friendly but they refuse to help resolve issues. Walls and floors are so thin we could hear every word of our next door neighbors and smell cigars from our below neighbors. Save yourself the hassle. Dont rent here!
I lived here for almost 2 years, and I liked it a lot until my last few months. Here are some of the issues I encountered.1) Minor issue, but the eyes on the stove in my apartment were uneven/wobbly. So if you put a pan on it, it would immediately droop to one side or the other. Again, minor issue. But its frustrating the have your cookware literally slide off the eye while youre cooking! I put in several requests, but all they ever did was replace the eyes, which didnt help at all.2) I live in the the Magnolia floor plan. It doesnt have connections for washers and dryers. The complex has a laundry facility with a few washers and dryers. However, the facility is disgusting. You do NOT want to use it. And all the laundry places nearby are just as bad, if not worse. If at all possible, select a floor plan that has connections.3) This is the big one. I started having bad rodent issues in April 2016. They would eat food Id left out (bagels on top of the microwave, fruit in the fruit bowl, etc.). The leasing office contracts with Cooks Pest Control for things like this. They sent an exterminator (who, to his credit, was polite). He set out some traps, which the rodents proceeded to ignore for several days. After this, I entered an annoying dance with the leasing office that would repeat every few days.Me: Hey, I still have rodents.Office: Okay, well send the guy.For about 6 weeks, the rodents continued to ignore the traps and venture throughout my kitchen (and leaving behind droppings so Id know they were there). Eventually, they got bold and began venturing throughout the rest of the apartment. It got so bad that theyd literally crawl on me while I was in my bed! We eventually discovered a huge hole behind the dishwasher that led to outside the apartment. After filling both holes, the rodents (for whatever reason) started falling for the traps.Heres where it gets gross. Over the course of about a week (were at the beginning of June now), I found probably a dozen dead mice/rats in various nooks and crannies around the kitchen Eventually, after TWO MONTHS of dealing with them, I stopped seeing signs of any rodents, and havent seen any since. Is it the leasing offices fault their were rodents? Kinda. But the reason Id advise against staying here, is the slow response to the issue. Every time I went to them, I got a very laissez-faire attitude. In my opinion, you would want to do any and everything possible to make sure your tenants werent getting swarmed by a rodent infestation (those suckers just kept coming!). But that wasnt the case here. Never, at any point, did I sense any urgency. You can come here if you want. But just know the people in the leasing office dont get a flying f*** about your comfort. They just want your money for their (over-priced) apartments.
After severe storms Saturday evening, my kitchen was flooded. I made multiple attempts to contact someone via the so-called after-hours maintenance number and never got a response. I finally was able to talk to the main office when they opened Monday morning, but still no one made any attempt to come address the issue until Tuesday afternoon. At this point there had been standing water under my stove and counters since Saturday night (three days), that I was unable to get to so I could dry it up. The only help we were offered when someone FINALLY came to look at the issue was that they were going to call a contractor to look at the outside walls. My concerns about the obvious water damage to the wall and the possibility of mold growing due to their neglect of the issue were still never addressed. I am severely disappointed in the lack of effort out forward to fix these maintenance issues.
We have lived here for almost one month after signing a 10 month lease. Both the dishwasher and refrigerator have failed. The maintenance man has worked on the refrigerator 5 times during our brief stay and finally replaced it with a different one from the shop. The new one failed on the first night and we lost a fresh supply of food during the night. Our complaint to the manager resulted in a response that the maintenance man is on the way. The dishwasher left a greasy residue on the dishes, water backs up into the sink, and the drying cycle stays on until manually shut off. We solved the greasy dishes situation by a thorough cleaning that removed the grease accumulation in the bottom of the machine. The maintenance mans response to the dishwasher complaint was that the dishwasher was original equipment and he could no longer get parts for repairing the machine.I would not recommend these apartments to anyone, especially an elderly couple such as my wife and I. The management and maintenance staff seem not to be interested in solving problems but only in putting off what needs to be done.
Once I move I will explain, in detail, my issues.
There is somthing fishy about this APT complex my nice an her boy friend live there an they are saying they have to days to move out i dont think they can do that they are not even helping them find a nothe place to live.
Probably the worst apartments Ive ever lived in.Lived in a three bed room flat.BEFORE signing the lease I stressed how important it was for the AC to work (baby in the house; heat doesnt work so well with that).Within the first month we lost AC and continued to have problems even to the point where the entire AC blow up. Even the outside part had to be replaced.Things wrong with the place:ANTS. We had not been there for two days and we found the place to be infested with ants, took a month for them to finally get rid of them. The floors are a horribly textured vinyl wood, ugly metal folding closet doors. Our (inside) doors wouldnt lock (we gave up with having privacy), none of the window screens were not (still not) attached, porch sliding screen door is broken. Hallway door wont open. Windows are still hard to open; they were painted shut.As far as location and neighbors:Its horrible. You will mainly travel by Memorial Parkway which constantly has wrecks and traffic, takes 30 minutes to get to UAH, 20 on a good day and if I speed. Weve even had one of our cars gone through. There isnt anywhere to park if you work night shifts; Ive had to park literally two buildings away from my place at 11:30. Problem with this is that they have lighting outside but it only illuminates in about a three foot radius, so its creepy. No one will ever be able to find you. Speed bumps. You can honestly rent out a nice 3 bed room house for the same price you pay here in a nicer neighborhood. Its 1,234.50 to break the lease. Cant wait for our new place.Oh, the staff IS nice though. The place is just whats lacking.
There is a serious lack of parking around the 8301, 8303, and 8305 buildings.
Once I move I will explain in detail the problems.
