I just moved in a this month and was a little skeptical due to some of the comments and negative reviews. I also did not have the opportunity to tour the apartment before moving in due to COVID. But I followed my gut and I was not disappointed.1. The process was very easy and Rebecca was amazing from start to finish. Everything they told me was accurate. I completed the lease through the portal, provided all of my documentation and was ready to go on moving day. On the day of my move, I called Rebecca to let her know I was on my way, she explained everything I would need and the process was complete.2. When I walked into the apartment after I received my keys, I was very happy with my decision. There was new carpet, the layout out was just perfect for what I needed. The apartment is very spacious and I love it. There are no issues with the apartment and the only issue that had to be fixed is tightening the hose on the washing machine. That was done very quickly.3. The area is very quiet. There is not a lot of noise and I cant hear anything from my neighbors. Its almost too quiet.4. The grounds are well maintained. My gran-daughter loves walking over to the lake to see the ducks. The playground is not open due to COVID, but I am hoping it re-opens soon.5. The location is perfect. There is a fire station next door which I like. I am walking distance to grocery shopping, restaurants and a few night activities. There are parks very close by with nice walking trails. So I am giving Highland Pointe 5 stars. I have nothing negative to say about the complex.

Lived here for about two and a half years (mid 2017-late 2019) and have seen the place change from what a lot of people consider a negative standpoint. I had Kim help me move in and dealt with her for quite some time and she was an absolute joy. Once she left and new management and such started moving in, people were rotating in/out of the front desk staff frequently. No super negative things to say about the staff outside a few isolated incidents which were really not a super big deal. They did change their pest control company to a way less useful one from what I have experienced.Throughout my time I did enjoy my stay overall but a few times I had extremely noisy upstairs neighbors and my neighbor across from me would blast music super loud but that didnt bleed into my apartment too often. Friendly people all around my apartment in particular. The maintenance guys were the highlight of this place. Extremely nice and courteous individuals. Prompt with helping. Nothing but great things to say about them.Im giving this place 4 stars simply because of their pest control change and way they handled it. Towards the end of my time here it was raining pretty badly and as much as I fought it, I got ants... non-stop. I had set out traps for them, had the new pest control guys spray (literally all the help they said they could provide). No fix. My apartment was pretty clean and no food was ever left out... these little demons of the underworld were coming from the foundation which I told both the front desk to tell the pest guys and told the pest control guys. The apartment itself didnt have many pests previously, just your normal critters here and there until Satans spawns moved into the foundation. Please for all that is good - go back to using Cooks. They were super nice folk who spent time making sure your place had no unwelcome pests.Edit: In regards to leases, make sure you read your lease fully. Yes, people do have negative experiences, but read. your. lease. I did have to pay for an extra month in which I wasnt living there simply because I had to move out before my lease expired. Luckily someone wanted my apartment the following month and it was rented out and my lease was terminated as needed.

Very professional and helpful maintenance personal. I have been a resident for over three years and have always had pleasant interactions with the staff. The apartment complex is quiet and the pool, tennis court and fitness center are always clean. Apartment grounds are neatly maintained, well lit and well designed for leisurely strolls. We really enjoy the location ( right next to hwy 72 and Kroger shopping center and minutes away from Bridge Street, Redstone Arsenal, Cummings Research Park, Space and Rocket Center, Botanical Gardens and many local eateries). Very family friendly place!

Peaceful. Clean. Polite & Helpful Staff. Timely maintenance personnel. Location is great and there is peace of mind knowing the local fire and police department is right around the corner. What more could a person want? Please ignore the negative reviews given by others. Those persons probably received fines for leaving their trash outside, or paid their rent consistently late. Strict rules here maintain a high quality of life for those mature persons who seek it. Nothing wrong with that last time I checked. If you are mature, responsible, clean and can afford the rent, it is worth your time and money to stay here. Would 100% recommend it.

I had a great experience with the HP maintenance team this past week. I was having issues with my refrigerator not getting cold so I sent in an online maintenance request. I had all of my refrigerated things in the freezer to be kept there until it was fixed. I came home from work and they had resolved the cooling issue AND put back all of my items from the freezer into the refrigerator where they go! They really went the extra mile! Thank you for taking care of your residents!

This is a excellent place to stay. Great location, close to Redstone Arsenal, Cunning Research Park. Easy access to main Highways. Convenient to Restaurants, shopping, walking distance to Kroger Supermarket. We have monthly activities, food & games. I love the fitness center, pool & hot tub. Walking & jogging outside the complex is sidewalk safe. The office staff & maintenance are the best, keeps the place a beautiful gem.

I will say sense the complex has gotten new office staff all of my request and repairs have been done. With a few extras. Like having my ceiling paint after a leak and n the roof. The same request I put in 5 months previously with the other staff and it never got done. So I am definitely happier than I was before.

Have thoroughly enjoyed living here thus far. I had no experience in dealing with the last staff so I cant speak to that, but I can say that I have had zero problems since I moved in with any staff members. Even early on before I had lived here for any amount of time, the staff already knew my name when I walked through the door. All of the women have been more than accommodating and have helped where needed. My neighbors have been awesome, most of which I talk to on a daily basis. I also cant say I have seen the party/college atmosphere from UAH students that others have talked about. So far everything has gone smoothly and I couldnt have asked for a better experience. Could something go wrong in the future? Sure. But so far so good. In fact I will be resigning my lease in the next couple of days.

Prices are better than what you would expect from getting such a great community and living in such a convenient area. This is one of the best places to start your life if you are moving out of your parents house. Not only does the complex take care of you, you can shop for almost everything within a 5 minute drive.

STAY AWAY!!!! This place is awful. They are always trying to make money off of you. The management is THE WORST. Kim was great, but Serena needs an attitude adjustment. Oh, and even if you clean your apartment really really well they will still charge you for paint and carpet. Forget even trying to get your deposit back because it’s not going to happen. Say “bye-bye” to a lot of money when you get ready to move out.

WOW! Way to alienate over half your residence! One star reviewers are accused of being unverified residence, paying their rent late, or just plain trash! Damn!! Maybe they are unverified for fear of retaliation! I hope you know people actually read these reviews!,, next time you ask for five star reviews, tell them to not make it so obvious! Its obvious youve asked for them! Otherwise the five star reviewers would not have been bashing the one star reviewers! Just remember to tell them not to make it so obvious.

The whole Complex is in an uproar over the firing of not only Kim, But Donna before her, These are heartless, cruel firings and no one can explain why. The complex has gone Down hill and it feels like Im on the titanic! Ive been here for a few years and I will not be renewing my lease nor will the other residents who are jumping ship. This complex will be section 8 by the end of the year.

I have lived at some bad places and this one is nothing like them. The grounds are clean no stepping in poo, the garbage is kept tidy and theres hardly any noise at all which was a big issue for me. Perhaps the best thing that this property has going for it is its staff from management down these are some of the most caring and understanding people I have come to know. If you are looking to come to a peaceful place with kind courteous people this is the spot. Regardless of the negatives ill say that there are new people in place here and the change for the better is noticed and appreciated!Update: The staff knows who everyone is generally, no surprise that she called me by my name I am a resident after all. The person referring to me in the latter days review must have some sort of vendetta, all I have ever noticed was kindness from this office. If you are unsure walk in and find out for yourself.

I am writing this review at 2:45 am I am awake due to loud neighbors, which is the norm now here at Highland Pointe (HP) and not the exception. If I could give half a star I would. Due to a career with the military, I have transferred and returned multiple occasions. HP used to be a wonderful place to live. The old management team was very effective and actually cared about residents. . Due to poor corporate decisions, they were replaced. After the removal of the previous management team, Highland pointe has turned into a high priced ghetto. There are students smoking pot and partying as well as ineffective management team who do not seem to care about the residents. The community has greatly declined. Recently there has been a high volume drug activity. You can actually smell pot smoking in the breezeway and through the walls. The assistant manager often quotes overpriced rental rates as Market Value. The market value for Highland pointe should be $500 per month. Drug deals are done in front of my apartment building on a daily basis. Dont let the gate and well-manicured lawn fool you. If you come to view an apartment it will be in the daytime when the grounds are clean and no one is home. Therefore the community looks safe and there are no weed sales in the parking lot. Highland Pointe has become an overpriced ghetto. It is unfit for working individuals and children. If you want the lifestyle and the quality of neighbors that you will have in Highland Pointe Apartments ...Save yourself at least $600 a month and move into a lower priced area without a gate. The complex has deteriorated to the point where you have people sitting on their balcony smoking pot as if we are in the Boys In the Hood movie. If you move to Highland point you will be trapped in a lease in a high priced ghetto. The only good thing that I have to say about HP is the maintenance team consisting of Miguel, Patrick and Brooks, are superb. Oh and for the record... pay attention to the dates on those great reviews. If they are over 12 months old disregard them. That was the old management team.If you are a working family, professional or just someone who wants to enjoy your home, feel safe and have normal quiet hours dont move to HP. There are several new safer properties in the area. Save your time and dont look at HP. 13 months ago it was a great place to live and raise children. Now it is an expensive ghetto with a well-manicured lawn.

Looks as if you post a negative comment about this place, they try to make it look as if youre not a verified resident or you pay your rent late, or youve been fined for leaving trash out. Not very professional! And Sealy is pretty crappy for allowing This!10/14/2018. Its just shameful a company would allow its employees to engage in such a childish feud to be carried out on its website! And its obvious someone has asked for five star reviews Im not a resident, nor will I ever be after seeing this! I have now found an apartment, their website had its share of negative reviews, but their employees did not pit one resident against another. This place is a train wreck.

The owners or whoever has FIRED each and everyone of them and brought in a new crew one at a time. This Crew is Cold, distant, and couldnt care less about the residents. You can tell the crew is very unhappy, The New Mgr is unlikable, unprofessional, and the whole feel of the complex is now uneasy. I use to love living here! Moved in Dec 2016. Renewed an 18 mth lease Jan 2018. Today August 14, 2018 I HATE it here! This place is now being used for UAH student housing! Year around residents are SOL with quiet and parking availability. Your permanent residency counts for NOTHING here! So if you only need it for a couple of mths I’d advise the summer only. Then get out while you can! Unless the student life is what you’re looking for! Maintenance guys are awesome though! Always working hard and there when you need them. They get the only star I gave!

I am a present resident (2013-present). I would rate it lower, but the one bedroom I lived in before moving to this two bedroom unit was a 5/5.My wife and I have addressed many times the lack of parking spaces at our unit for over one year. There has not been a single attempt to address it. It really frustrated me the first year because my wife was pregnant and had to park on the other side of the complex, then walk a considerable distance to our apartment which is on the second floor. I work 12 hour shifts so I was unable to assist her during those times. After having our child she would have to leave groceries or other items in the car until I made it home because she had to walk our baby from the other side of the complex at night which is rediculous when its raining or very cold outside. The apartment were in now is extremely overpriced considering the lack of parking (none). If youre paying what we pay, you expect to have atleast one reserved parking spot close to your unit.In closing, my wife and I signed an extended lease last year thinking the situation would improve. Now we regret that decision due to the lack of consistent effort by the staff to make sure tenants have parking privileges over guests.

The time we lived in Highland Pointe it was good. When we were moving out it got very difficult, they made us jump through hoops with painting the walls and paying them for changing the carpet. I ended up just having them paint the walls (which is what that wanted) and I had the carpet cleaned and they decided to rip it up and charge us for the new carpet. I received a bill in the mail for 900 dollars, falsely accusing me of having pets in our apartment. Now we are paying for the carpet but they only take money order or a check and I live in California. Its the 21st century...take a debt card, why are u making it difficult to receive my money? Anyways when u live there its pleasant once you leave it can get pretty unprofessional.

To all of those who are leaving negative comments about living here without the previous mgmt; theres a reason they are not here any longer some of you are just trying to punish sealy so I get it. But its unfair to leave an unfair rating on those who are trying to help, and I have never run into any office staff who were rude or condescending in any way. Its apartment living, and as far as thats concerned its par with the rest, but as I said the office staff are wonderful and helpful anytime, every time I have been in there. The best I can offer anyone whos thinking of moving here is to come here and see for yourself, no one is rude, if fact everyone is pretty nice...

Pros: Quiet, Good Location, Nice Maintenance GuysCons: No recycling, aged buildings and utilities, recurring ant problem, no way to buy out of lease, air conditioners in townhouses are old and not equipped to handle Alabama heat, front desk staff was often rude, unhelpful, and uncooperative when there was a problem (Technical or Otherwise)If you need more convincing, listen to my stories about why I cannot recommend this place or any Sealy property:Read the lease CAREFULLY and dont rely on what the agent tells you especially when it comes to anything financially related. The leasing agent (who is thankfully no longer working there) lied to us and told us that we could pay a month and halfs worth of rent get out of our lease early. Come to find out, we could not, and as a result, we were stuck with 6 months remaining on a lease along with a mortgage payment. Thankfully, we were able to find a sub-leaser to help us out on three months worth of that burden. We were also tricked into giving up the keys to the apartment early, having been told that there were no more empty units at the time, and the possibility of them leasing over our agreement was extremely high. What they didnt tell us, until we asked a few weeks later, was that a number of un-leased units became available the very next week. This, of course, pushed our priority to nothing. So, in order to retrieve the keys back from the office, we were charged a cleaning fee of $500, just so we could then sublease the apartment. I wish it had just been as simple as that, though. When we asked for the keys back, we were told no, flat out. We had to fight all the way up the chain to the Sealy management office in Tuscaloosa to even get the compromise of paying the cleaning fee.We were also lied to when we asked specifically about pests. Two weeks in, our kitchen was covered in ants and we were mostly left to our own accord to get rid of them when the exterminators efforts failed to pay off. It seems the agent would tell us anything positive we wanted to hear to sell us on a year-long lease. That being said, most of the management staff has changed in the last year, and I cannot honestly say if their immoral practices on leases and lying to potential and current tenants have changed.
