We came to visit Hilton Head about a month ago and when we arrived we saw everyone on bikes! We looked around at different companies to eventually come across Wheelz of Hilton Head. My family and I stopped in to get more information about rentals but instead we all ended up playing with their adorable puppy, George! Eventually we set up a reservation with the girls working at the desk, who made it very easy to do. We even got to see George when we dropped off the bikes, my kids were so happy! We will definitely be using Wheelz again in the future.

I have been renting bikes for 25 yrs from HHI when I go. Everyone knows it’s the thing to do when you get in. With that knowledge, I’m in the know that they are busy on check-in day and the day after.With that being said, my condo came with bikes- awesome. So I called 2 hrs before close and was on hold until close. Couldn’t leave a message and no one answered. Alright, no problem, I would call in the morning. Call right when they opened- I was on hold for 2 hrs, no answer. So I drove up there and the two girls working informed me when I asked that their phones were down. I then followed up with, well why does the website or even the voicemail not indicate this? The website also tells you to call… so it’s just a round about circle that you can only resolve by physically coming in- which defeats the purpose of the website and calling in.They had no reply- in addition, they had a puppy at the counter- completely fine. Not fine when I asked to get a reservation going after they explained the phones being down and proceeded to play with the dog instead of booking a reservation… while I was standing there. I had to reiterate that I indeed wanted to book and then they actioned starting my reservation… really? I’m a patient person but between the phones and website essentially not bringing in business, you would think they didn’t need my business by the way they were acting- I was not impressed but the customer service in the slightest.Once done dealing with the booking( which I was informed I would have to return in person and take in person- no drop off to my condo) I went downstairs and retrieved the bikes. Thankfully, the gentleman who deal with that part made it seamless. Text for the bike lock code and then when you check out the bikes.I would not recommend this place ever. I have dealt with 2 other companies that had better communication overall. Again, completely understand things happen like the phones being out, but for 3 days and you still don’t have a message online about that or the fact that you physically have to go in to reserve? Doesn’t seem customer friendly.

Lisa and her staff are delightful!! We rode the Avocado bikes and had such a good time. The bikes were ready and waiting for us when we got there. When we returned them, the staff was genuinely interested in finding out if we had a good time and enjoyed the bikes. We bought a couple of t-shirts which are soft and fit perfectly. Highly recommend Wheelz when you are at Hilton Head!!

Easiest place to reserve a bike and get moving for a fun day bike riding. Their online LIVE rental site worked perfect, their service was fast and friendly, the price was great, and they offer clean & quality equipment. We’ll definitely use them again! We stayed on the island (Hilton Head) this time and will add Wheelz to our list of “preferred” places to go when in need of a rental! Great job Wheelz team!

Great place to rent a bike! Also, the owner has an adorable Goldendoodle puppy there named George. I would travel back to South Carolina just to see George.

I can’t say enough positive things about our experience! We rented two bikes (one cruiser and one cruiser with the tug a bug) this past week. They delivered the bikes right on time and even locked them to a bike rack closest to our unit for convenience. Bikes were in great condition and well maintained. Will definitely use Wheelz next time we visit HHI.

My wife and I rented Avocado electric bikes from Wheelz. We really liked these bikes. We road to the beach and then road on the beach. The power assist made the trip a breeze. It was so much fun. I highly recommend these bikes for a great day bike riding. Also, the bike shop was new, fresh, and beautiful. The staff there is extremely friendly. We will definitely be back.

Great bikes! We had a great experience with easy pick up from the location and wonderful customer service from Maya at the end of the week when it came to getting our bikes returned! We will never do HHI without bikes again!

Wheelz staff made it almost too easy to have a great day of riding! We live in Bluffton and had family in town. We called Wheelz and they had everything set up and were able to ride right off! Absolutely Wonderful Experience!!

Rented battery powered bicycles. They were great. Employees were friendly and helpful.

First time vacationers to HHI and noticed the trend of everyone getting around on bikes. While researching bike rental places we found Wheelz and learned they offer golf carts. That seemed like a better choice for our family of four, so we rented one. We soon realized that it was the worst choice. Evidently you can only ride the golf carts in resorts that allow it and on certain roads. Taking the paths is not allowed. The speed limit on the main road is 35. The obviously governed golf cart goes 17 mph MAX! And caused much anxiety once on the roads. This information should be mandatory and freely given out upon rental. WE WOULD NOT HAVE RENTED THE GOLF CART!! No one wants to go 15-20 miles under the speed limit OR be behind someone who is. We had rude drivers swerving around us, slamming on brakes, beeping, throwing hands, etc... it was awful! The blue tooth never worked as well. What should have been a nice relaxing tour of the island was anything but. We ended up returning the golf cart early and tried to speak to the manager but conveniently they werent available. Terrible service in the end and terrible experience. Would not recommend!

Really made our vacation, was so much fun and you can enjoy learning the area more. Drove all the way to the Marina! 4 hours was the perfect amount of time to see everything and eat lunch!

We stayed close to Coligny beach on Hilton Head Island and rented bikes from Wheelz. We rode thru Sea Pines to get to the Harbor Town lighthouse. They delivered our bikes to the resort and picked them up when we were done. Super easy and convenient.

This business has integrity. The resolved a probably and took care of their customer, which is really all you can ask for. Basically they made a mistake and delivered an inoperable bicycle (pedal struck the bent chain guard on every revolution, got caught and wouldnt move), worked with me through the replacement, some confusion on their part, but all is well. We will rent from them again!

Fantastic service. Call them, bikes show up quickly at your doorstep, and they text you the lock code. Off you go to enjoy all the nice paths and beach riding at Hilton Head. Text them that you are done, and they pick them up. It could not be easier.

I reserved a golf cart for this week and unknowingly our resort doesn’t allow golf carts. (I found out this when we checked in). When I called to request a change from golf cart to bike rentals the clerk decided to let me know that “yes we have bikes, but you should have asked about that before you rented the golf carts”Yes I know I should have but I didn’t and this made me feel worse that they made me feel stupid about my mistake. I decided to cancel and I found another bike rental company to accommodate me. I wish that they would have given grace for the mistake and they would have kept my business.

Customer service is a priority at Wheelz. I had an hour to kill and they got me on a bike in 2 minutes or less. Really enjoyed the ride but more importantly the way I was a priority for them. There are a lot of bike rental places on Hilton Head and I know where I will be returning: Wheelz

Exceptional quality and service! You can always tell how well a company is run by the way they handle a problem. There were zero problems with the equipment we rented. In fact, it was basically new (four-seater golf cart). The cart had all the bells and whistles. The problem was on our end; we did not know the condo association would not allow carts in the parking lot (to stay). We ended up having to call back and request a return. They didnt hesitate and said for us to return it within a few hours, after closing. They offered to only charge us for a few hours, but as of yet, we have not been charged at all.The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Not to mention, we picked up the unit a day late and they held it for us (without a fee).Please rent from Wheelz of Hilton Head in the future. I wish we could have kept our rental, but really appreciate them working with us to fix OUR error!

Rented electric bikes to have a locals being tourists adventure. Electric bikes are SO FUN - I would never have guessed!!! We rode all over the south end, casually pedaling and zooming from place to place. The people at Wheelz were really nice and helpful, I cant wait to do it again!

This is THE BEST place to rent Bicycles on Hilton Head Island!! My husband and I just found this company and will never go anywhere else for bicycle rentals in Hilton Head!! The equipment is excellent (like new), the staff is amazing, and their prices are competitive. They are so friendly and take time with each person to make sure the bike fits perfectly. My family enjoys vacationing at HHI every year and we usually rent bikes from the shop with the best price. This year we called Wheelz first and received great advice about a step through bike and options for the grandchildren. The bikes were in great condition, came with free baskets and helmets, and the kids enjoyed the bells. Great service!

The employees were so helpful when i stopped after getting a flat tire on my own bike. They helped me get a new tube and put it on for me!!

I’m sorry this review is so delayed (due to a family situation that came up on our last day of the rental)... but I want to say that Wheelz was amazing! I reserved a bike the afternoon before Thanksgiving, and I wasn’t sure if they even got my message, but the bike was delivered on Thanksgiving morning! It was a lovely bike - like brand new, reasonably priced, and I enjoyed it thoroughly all that week. Thank you, Wheelz!

We called on Sunday to order bikes and they said that they couldnt deliver any till Tuesday. They neglected to tell us that we should reserve bikes and pick them up in person so when we arrived they had none. Not good business.

I didnt rent from Wheelz. We went with a different Google 5 star company (that turned out 1 star)...but every time we passed a Wheelz bike all 5 of us looked lonely at it!!! We will definitely be renting from Wheelz if we can get down to HHI again before school starts!! 🤞🏻

The WORST. Do not rent from them. Our bikes were delivered late, without the helmets we rented, and when I tried to call to rectify the situation I waited 30 minutes on hold repeatedly and never got a hold of anyone. I also had reserved tandem and they said they were “out” the day of drop off. Never got to ride bikes on our vacation.
