I bought a cheap road bike online. I brought it to the bike doctor to get some upgrades after I had taken it to two different bike places who charged too much and couldnt do what I wanted. Maria took it, upgraded it better than I thought was possible, and charged me half as much as the last guy who couldnt even do the basics. Ive been back for other repairs and charged way less than I expected. The quality of repairs are fantastic. Maria has also said I cant do some of the upgrades I want and I respect an honest answer. Also the bike is given back when promised.Thank you so much Bike Doctor!Id give more stars if possible!

If you have any problem with your bike on Hilton Head, this is THE place to go. My family just came down to the island for the week and on the drive, my bike tire was on the rack and got melted by the exhaust. I was worried it was going to be a huge hassle and a bunch of money to get it fixed, but I brought my bike to the Bike Doctor and they were able to figure out the problem and put a new tire on my bike in just minutes! Not only that, but they went the extra mile and checked some other things on my bike and found out it wasn’t put together very well and they ended up fixing those things for no extra charge. Long live the Bike Doctor!

I needed a tire repair while on vacation. They got it done immediately so I can still enjoy riding on the island!

Maria was extremely knowledgeable and fixed up my crises in 1 hr and a half after she had estimated 2 hrs. I busted the hanger of of my derailleur, bent a few links in my chain and damaged the shift cable. She knew we were here on vacation and took care of me right away. The shop was busy too. I would give them more stars if I could.

I stopped by when out for a ride on my trek 29er to see if they would air up my back tire, I had brought my bike but not the presta valve needed for air. They brought out a pump and filled both, no charge. I got a flat a few days later, they fixed me up in an hour. When I got a second flat near the bike rental shop in Palmetto Dunes, they said they didn’t have parts due to Covid. I took it back to Bike Doctor, they fixed again- no charge! The Bike Doctor is always extremely pleasant to deal with. They have the best quality rental bikes on Hilton Head and their delivery service for rentals is incredible compared to the other rental services weve delt with. They even did me a solid and gave me roadside assistance for a flat on my personal bike :) I couldnt recommend a better all around bicycle shop!

Over the past 5 years I have used bikes from James and his team numerous times. Having one of the best run bicycle rental shops on the island my family can easily jump on some cruisers in the afternoon on Fridays and ride down to Coligny Beach, enjoy the beach for a couple of hours and ride back to drop them off. Every bike I have used has been is in good or better shape and some have been brand new. Last week I called ahead and they had the bikes waiting for my family of 4 when we got there which was awesome to be able to jump on and ride off to spend some quality time with the family.

We brought our bikes with us on vacation so we could ride all the bike trails here in Hilton Head. We discovered our tires needed to be pumped up along and our front breaks needed to be adjusted! We were greeted with a friendly “sure can do this for you!” In less than 10 minutes we were on the trails again pleased to know kindness and professionalism is part of this business!

Rented two bikes and a trailer Monday July 24th an hour into our bike ride my bike broke.They did come out as fast as they could to swap out bikes for us.After that we were in our parking lot and mom wrecked into the fence and screwed her arm and back up pretty good to the point she couldnt ride anymore.I called Bike Doctor and told them that we wanted to turn the bikes back in because we werent going to ride anymore the rest of week.Weve had them for about three hours at this time.I was told they would come get them and give us a pro-rated amount.Well of course the whole week went by and they didnt get the bikes and charged us the full amount.I wont rent from them anymore.

Our recent trip to Hilton Head proved more than an adventure. We were in a real bind, literally, as my right shoes cleat was permanently stuck in the Shimano clip on a brand new bike. My husband was fortunately riding behind me when I realized I could not unclip my shoes to dismount at a stopping point. I headed for the nearest tree as my husband approached from behind to grab me so that I would not fall and become injured. He untied my shoe, and I was able to wriggle my foot out. I waited while he rode back to the hotel to get our vehicle, which had a bike rack. A friendly cyclist stopped by to help me as I waited in the pine straw with one shoe- he took out his tools a d tried to help me, but it was no use. He then highly recommend The Bike Doctor, hoping they might still be open, as it was a Sunday. Lucky for me they were openHooray for Matthew!!! He was a delightful, enthusiastic young man, who was more than willing to jump in and help!!!Thank you, Matthew!!!

James, Dominic (sp?) and others took my 1974 Viscount in for service and provided it with exceptional TLC to bring it back to almost new condition. What I learned from their work is they 1) know their stuff exceptionally well and 2) want to do the job right. A great shop for service work on your bike.
