Bikes, beach chairs, and umbrella were waiting on us when we arrived and we just left them locked up on our way out of town. No fuss, no worries. I opted for a trike so Id have a bigger basket for carrying a cooler to the beach. The umbrella came with a gadget called a Mikes Spike and worked like a charm...just watch the video on how to use it first. Umbrella was very secure using this system. Beach chairs included two zippered pouches on the back, one was insulated and big enough for a couple of canned sodas and a little ice or a lunch box sized ice pack. The other pouch was bigger, I was able to fit a rolled up beach towel and my cell phone with just a little room to spare.

First time there rented bikes guys were very nice. Cashier was not very helpful.

We rented beach chairs and umbrellas which was great because we were able to keep them with us all week and use at our discretion. Pick up and drop off was super easy and all staff were so helpful and nice.

I gave them a 4 star only because it took them the end of the day to deliver our rentals, which dampened the day since we arrived the day before. They did mention on their site that it would be end of day, which is why I put down the delivery date the next day so we wouldnt felt rushed to arrive from our drive to HH. However, when I called the day it was to be delivered, just to ask for an ETA, they said delivers are on route and I should get my rentals soon... which was 5 hours after I called.But overall, I had a good experience. They were very helpful every time I called them. When I had to return the umbrellas, I did so with no problem, no questions asked. I got a refund within a few days. I also needed to extend the rentals for my sister, since she was staying another week. The transition went smoothly.I do recommend these guys, they are quick to respond, always answered the phone (which is a big deal to me), and were always polite and professional. But next time, I will definitely have them deliver the rentals the day of my arrival.

Hilton Head Outfitters has a great streamlined process for renting. The tandem bikes aren’t good quality so we gave up and switched to beach bikes. The beach bikes performed well and we enjoyed our ride around the island. For how popular bike riding is on Hilton Head, I would have expected the Outfitter to have a better grasp on scenic and historic routes. We happened upon a great opportunity to visit the outdoor exhibit in historic Mitchelville which we highly recommend. It’s a wonderful spot to commemorate the sacrifices of enslaved peoples whose determination and desire for freedom led to the creation of one of the first freedmen’s communities.We

Great communication. Our guide tried his best to get us rolling on the fish but we couldn’t get in a groove. The day was not lost though as my daughter caught a big flounder and a very nice 13lb Redfish. Great morning on the water.

Great customer service!We had an issue with one of the E-bikes during an outing, called Outfitters and within 4 mins they met us and exchanged the bike and apologized that it took so long....lol.Highly recommend this place ;)

Hilton Head Outfitters could not have made the process any easier. When we arrived at our vacation rental the bikes and dog carts were already there ready to go. Loved that they dropped off and picked up. Our pugs loved riding in the dog carts. Would definitely use them again!

Great service and equipment. We rented two Cannondale light mountain bikes. Not all rental companies have them, but Hilton Head outfitters do. We were stopped three times by people asking where we got those geared bikes. We stayed in Evian easy drop off and end of the week pick up. They supplied us wit two bike locks which came in handy. One morning we looked out to see neighbor checking out our bikes and looking at their beach comber bikes and shaking their heads. Well definitely come back and rent from them.

We rented two bikes for two days. The bike were in nice shape and the rental process was fast and easy. The helmets were good quality and we had a basket and a combo lock included. Overall a great value. We rode all over the island and returned to a couple of places. They allow you to return after hours as long as the bikes are locked to their rack.

We rented the e-bikes for the week to get around easier and had a BLAST!The shop was very busy when we arrived Sunday morning but everything was very organized and we were quickly & efficiently assisted and checked out.The young gentlemen outside were very friendly and assured we had everything we needed (lock, chargers, key) and explained how the bikes worked.We had souch fun and rode them daily - to & from pickleball, on the beach (packed sand), to the Leamington Lighthouse, and even over to Shelter Cove Marina & shops (via the walking/bike underpass.

Very relaxing tool through the channels. Seen a lot of bird wildlife. Didnt see any gators. Part of our group wanted to see one the other half didnt. All in all it was a great time!!

Best Experience. Will was patient with each child and took the time. He was amazing. All four kids, all different levels, all had a blast! Kids were 9 and 13.

Had so much fun learning to surf! The positive encouragement even made the wipe outs fun.The spring waves were just right to learn technique before summer. I will definitely be able to rent a board and cruze the waves on my own next time.

Called to reserve a couple geared bikes for upcoming trip to HHI. I was told I would be able to do so by an employee who consulted her manager, but the system was down and the manager had to call me back. He never did. I called next day and spoke to a different manager who confirmed they have the bikes I want and the system is back up, but that she would not honor the agreement the other manager made. Furthermore she insulted me by acting as if my business wasnt as important as people who are already on the island (if you can believe that). So to be clear, while I was ready to reserve pricey bikes for 12 days (at least $200 in rental fees), shed rather wait for someone else to ask for them and maybe only get a couple days of rental fees???? From what I understand, only one other place on the island rents geared bikes and would happily let me reserve them, but they dont have the availability I need. I used HH Outfitters in the past and the service was outstanding. But its the complete opposite now. I will never use them again and make sure my friends and family who frequent the island never use them. Thanks to the stubbornness of one manager there, I now have to cart my bikes over 700 miles each way.

Reserved our bikes over the phone since online it said it needed to be done 24-48 hrs in advance..everything went smooth from reserving to getting them and riding off..I know some of the pictures are mostly of my family but you can still see the bikes we got from here.😁..(2) tag along (1) bike w/kiddie cart (1) 26 bike.

Very easy to pick up and drop off the beach chairs and umbrella we rented. Staff was very friendly. The only issue is that it was extremely difficult to get the umbrella into the sand, which caused it to blow away several times.

Bikes were delivered and picked up without issue at the expected times. I rented a kids tandem with an adult bike as well as a cart on an adult bike. This was the perfect combo for hauling kids and gear to the beach.

We rent our bikes here every year and they are wonderful. Always on time for delivery and bikes are well maintained.

Bikes were fine but be very careful renting from this company. We rented bikes for 4 full days and got just about 3 and a half. They dropped bikes off late one day and picked up early on the last day. Kids were disappointed as looking forward to one more ride before end of vacation. Just know this as there are many other companies to choose from on the island.

We had a surfing lesson yesterday and it went really well so we would recommend it. Will was our teacher, a Hilton Head local who was very friendly and knowledge. An excellent experience and we were all able to stand up and surf at the end.

Staff was very friendly, & it was easy to reserve kayaks thru the website. Convenient location, we walked from our condo. We had 4 sit in kayaks in good shape. Oars & seats could use a refresh of the pads. Saw some great wildlife like owls, herons, alligators, golfers (LOL). The main “loop” is a good 1.5 hour session, so be sure to put on sunscreen, take a bottle of water, and get the kids to go to the bathroom before leaving. There are so many canals, we wIll look for new routes to explore next time.

We reserved two surf rods and there was only one when we showed up. They gave us a light weight rod as a replacement and didnt charge us at all for a second pole! Super friendly people with great attitudes that offer an appreciated military discount!

My son did a private surfing lesson with Eden who was amazing with him. Very patient and friendly. Carole was also awesome in helping us set everything up. I highly recommend using them!

Best place to go to rent bikes and kayaks

We went to launch our boat from the dock after hours. An employee told us we could not so we politely packed up and the owner called security to chase us off. We have been customers for years and it was humiliating for our family to be treated as criminals. So unnecessary to treat us like this. We do not want to ever come back we will rent our bicycles and kayaks elsewhere.

We had the best time. My son caught a couple of large trout, the guide was the best. All he cared about was making sure my son had a good time a caught some fish. He did everything he could and worked extremely hard at making sure my son had a good time. This was our second trip and I will be booking another one for October.Thanks again. Dave and Trent.

We did a one-hour kayak tour and enjoyed our time. Saw a small alligator and some water fowl. The kayak launch here is very nice and would be a plus for those with mobility issues. If you are only kayaking once during your stay at Hilton Head I would recommend doing a local kayak tour instead. They are cheaper and you get to be out in a much larger and diverse area.

My wife, sister-in-law, mother-in-law and I just returned from our vacation on HHI and stayed at Palmetto Dunes. We decided to rent some bikes and thought it would be fun. The result, in fact, was a rekindled love of cycling that I had not had in years, all due to the ease of ordering, delivery/pickup, great condition of the bikes, and our interaction with staff when we wanted to exchange two of the bikes for a smaller size (for my wife and sis-in-law---they are short). I hardly made it home before I went to our local bike shop and picked up my new ride (pictured). I dont know who to thank personally, but simply wanted to say Thank You! and Keep up the good work! You have no idea how much your service can add to a life.

The Bikes were simply awesome! We rented four Geared bikes which were closer to a Trek or Diamondback bike. All were in great shape with one squeaky wheel but easy fix.Only reason I did not give four stars was on the phone they said they were going to deliver the bikes in the morning (Sunday) and the bikes actually showed up closer to 3:30PM. When I called the staff said they always come in the afternoon and get picked up in the morning. Keep that in mind when determining length of rent.Came with a bike lock - simply to remember and use.I would probably rent a basket to carry items unless you use a backpack.Very few people used helmets around the island - we brought our own.

My family has different fitness levels and different swimming abilities. Needless to say I was quite anxious but optimistic to book surfing lessons through Hilton Head Outfitters with Byron. In short: we all LOVED this experience. It is easily one of the top 10 experiences as a family on our travels. It exceeded all my expectations! Byron not only teaches surfing. He helped make sure each member of our family got to have fun and feel success. I can not recommend this enough! Book your lessons now and let go of your stress.

We made reservations as suggested. Our groups of 4 all were novice kayakers. When we arrived, the employees demonstrated how to operate the kayak and then helped each of us into our boats. When we returned, they were waiting for us and pulled us into the unloading area. Employees wore masks and were very professional. A great time was had by all.

My wife and I completed a 24 hour rental which gives you all day rental for the day you start your rental plus the whole next day until 5pm. They provide locks at no charge and baskets for a nominal charge. one thing to note, you can not officially access sea pines area via the bike trails. Refer to the rules for sea pines website

Our six year old took private surfing lessons and had the best time!! They were awesome! She enjoyed it so much, we had to rent a board for the rest of the vacation.

Ordered my bikes online. The bikes (geared) were in good shape - we biked 15-30 miles every day.Lost my lock and they replaced it without charge.

They were great. Easy to work with. Great price for a 3+ day rental.

It was a great experience. The bikes and chairs were already at the house. They forgot the umbrella, but when I called they had one delivered within 10 minutes.

Best tip I can give on HHI is to preorder your bikes for the week so they are delivered and picked up for free by Hilton Head Outfitters! The bikes were delivered on time and were in great shape. It was a no hassle experience and I will continue to make this part of the annual beach trip routine.

Amazing guide service for families. Our guide Stacy was really great. Super great with kids. Very interactive and engaging. Kids had a blast fishing and seeing the cranes. 2hr trip was perfect for kids. Highly recommend.

Nice little beach rental place. 43 dollars for a week for an adult bike. 80 if you want a tandem or a bike with 3 wheels. They also offer beach chairs and umbrella rentals. 62 dollars for the week for 2 chairs and an umbrella. They have a little store with many beach toys and other items. Bought a beach football for my son.

Did the private surf lesson with 2 family members. Was really good

Stopped in this week and David was excellent in tightening bike chain. This is a bike we were riding from a private owner. He checked brakes and everything beyond just the chain. He was amazing and worked so quickly and efficiently! He really is a bicycle expert and explained everything he was doing. David had me ride the bike around the lot to make sure it was suitable to me. Have been riding the bike all over the island now and no longer have to be afraid that the chain is going to pop off at any time! Thanks, so much David-youre the best bicycle expert ever!!

Super friendly staff, and very flexible with rental options! Located in a beautiful part of Hilton Head, but its a long ride to Caligney Beach, so if youre wanting to ride from their shop to the beach, best plan on a good workout. Otherwise, drive to CB, and rent a bike there.

Total steal for two beach chair rentals. Way easier than bringing your own. Awesome customer service too and no forms to fill out. So easy and the staff were great

Highly recommend Hilton Head Outfitters. Their friendly and competent staff can’t be beat! Not only do they rent bikes, but they fix them too! Our personal bike was in need of a new tire and tube- reasonably priced and out the door in under 10 mins, and on their busiest day of the week!! A special shout out to bike technician, David, who not only fixed the tire in record time, but also fixed the seat AND the brakes without being asked- he was amazing!! Thank you David for making our vacation GREAT!! We’ll definitely be back for all our bike needs!!

Rented some bikes and a fishing pole here. It was good equipment and got delivered on time. I would give it 5 stars except for one thing...... Why not deliver fishing rod n reels too? My bikes got delivered, but they couldnt deliver my fishing great. To me, that was very frustrating. Youre already making a trip anyway. Bring my fishing tackle. I had to waste a lot time to drop off and pick up. I probably would not rent fishing tackle again for this reason. You can also get bikes on the island cheaper if you book in advance. Try getting a discount if you book online.

Friendly staff with great customer service! I stopped by with a brake issue on my personal bike. Even though they were busy, one of the staff members was able to take a look at it. He explained the problem and was able to fix it in about 5 minutes. Thanks for the help!

Very kind people who work there. I lost my car keys on the bike trail. One of the employees went to retrace my bike trail to find my keys and finally found it at the security booth, when someone else turned it in. Thank you very much for helping me!

Awesome place and should be on your list to stop by and ride a bike on the trails or beach. Next trip we will go kayaking! Great people working there as well. Fun activities to do with the family or to just relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Stopped by to get 2 bikes for the month since we were staying in Palmetto Dunes. Staff person was nice enough but we were shocked when she got to the total of the discounted rate. It was over 2x what it would be from other bike rentals in the area. They also charged extra for baskets which we have always received without charge in the past. Needless to say we went to another rental company we have used in the past for the bikes.

Hilton Head Outfitters is awesome. The service was great. The location on the island was ideal for getting set up for great sporting. We enjoyed fishing and bicycling. They reserved kayaks for us and were a really easy transition for us as a family to enjoy recreation on beautiful Hilton Head Island. It is located conveniently across from the General Store. Best place to rent bikes. Its our first stop when we get to Hilton Head.

The bikes were in excellent condition and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My son and I rented 2 bikes about 1 1/2 hours before closing and the nice lady only charged me for 1 hour and told me if we werent done by the time they closed just lock them up out front. The guys go over the bike with you and help adjust the seat too. Only downside is theres no parking. We parked across the road and walked over. Will definitely rent from them in the future.

Bikes are good, pretty new and well-maintained. They ran out of kids bikes after we paid and we had to wait (not very long) for some to be turned in. Employees were super helpful. They did their best to locate more bikes for us.

Clean and nice convenience store with a good selection of drinks and snacks.Better than a gas station stop, and truck outside is awesome.

This place is, in my opinion, a great place to find adventure in Hilton Head. From just renting bicycles to explore the island with, to getting a kayak, this place has everything you need. You can rent bikes, rent a kayak and take the one hour, 90 minute, or two hour loop, and you can fish. They also have a nice little shop from which you can buy bodyboards, amenities and outfitter merchandise. The people who work there are very kind and just want you to have a good time.
