I moved here May of 2020......they are lucky I dont report them for the millions of millipedes that were outside and they also were in my apartment when I arrived. It was a horrible infestation and they never tried to get rid of them. They tried to get me to pay almost 1900.00 to move out and my lease wasnt even up yet when I told them I was moving out. I have yet to get my security deposit back and I gave them my new address. They mailed it supposedly somewhere else.....smh Ive called and emailed them. I still dont have it. They never answer the phone and I left several messages πŸ˜’.

Edit: one of the previous issues has finally been resolved. In the past 2 years they have really gone downhill. Management in the front office never takes resident concerns and complaints seriously. Massive potholes that cause safety and vehicle damage concerns. Infrastructure of buildings are decreasing in safety. Mislabeling storage closets to someone’s apartment letter (very confusing for delivery drivers and unfair to those residents ordering out). No lifeguard at the pool so that amenity is mostly wasted. Still significantly raising rent each year without improving the properties.

I just moved here in April I’ve had 2 involuntary lenders inspection and now I feel like I’m being harassed. It’s over 600 units here why do they keep coming to my apartment for Lenders inspections? The notice are give one day in advance in which I feel is not acceptable due to the fact that I work 3rd shift and it happens during my down time. The office says they can’t control the actions, well please put me in contact with someone who can, the management here seem incapable of understanding the principle of the matter.

I cannot deny how captivated I was with the pictures on their website; however, this happens almost everywhere and everyplace youre renting. Ive had several issues must say most of them have been taken care of!I feel that we must appreciate more the positives than the negatives, there will always be issues at most apartments. Ive had the pleasure to work with Angie who is my main representative since day 1 has heard my issues; therefore she has tried to solve almost every one of them. Because of covid19, Ive fallen behind paying my rent, want to thank them for being considerate and understanding. I finally got a new AC and feels cozy especially in the weather we experience almost daily, and hoping for my fridge to be replaced!!!Sincerely, Claudia

I am moving to Greensboro area in May from TN and trying to get a head start. I spoke with Michelle and she advised that I could see the model in person on Saturday and I could bring the cashiers check with me for the security deposit (Friday) My adult children and I drove 5 hours to get there (Saturday). Got there only to be told that they are not showing the model and sorry for my luck (no empathy) only that she will call security on me and my children because quite naturally we are upset! She was very rude, unprofessional and had a very rude tone. Off to a very bad start! WhT concerns me is she stated that the model wouldn’t reflect the actual place I’ll be getting anyway! I’m like what do u mean? Never got a straight answer but from the looks of the property, it’s not at all like the website. After reading the reviews I’ve made a horrible mistake! Not a good experience!

My Onyx apartment looks nothing like the model. My walk through was horrific and I wanted to cry because it was the day before moving in. My fireplace and mantle was replaced with bookshelves and I had no foyer. My island is barely big enough for a plate to fit on it. The walls was all white no different colors or boarder. It’s old fashioned no modern updates. The walk inn closet should be called a side way closet. You can barely walk in. It’s the projects with amenities. The rod was in the tub not put up. No blinds on my patio doors. You can see cars go buy your bedroom patio doors and they can see you. No fireplace, no wooden floors, no stainless steel appliances, no WiFi, no backsplash no where, their behind times no updates. If I could afford to turn this place down I would. But I gave my notice in my other place. However, I guarantee you I will not renew this lease and if I can afford to pay two month rent and move out I would. Yes, you have to give a 60 day notice. I should have been told when I did a tour that I would not have a fireplace, and no foyer and I would have looked elsewhere. They knew what apartment I was renting and what’s in it, they had given me my apartment number. I should have been told. It was a shock and the lady had the audacity to say I would like my apartment because it had new appliances and new carpet. But when I seem I didn’t have a foyer and no fireplace and mantle I got sick on my stomach. The island was small and the rooms appeared to be small, I literally became claustrophobic. I’m discussed.

This is for whomever feels this should be taken by them and if so it probably should. So weve been living here for I believe going on 4 and each year our rent went up from 790 to 802 to 812 and weve had a bit of an issue but hey we NEED a place to stay so.lets pay it. But now during one of the harder times in peoples lives this time of Corona they want to raise our rent by instead of the little 10-15 buck they are taking us for 57 more dollars a month for the option to renew if not we have to go with one of the options that are 67 more 107 more or almost 300.dollars plus. The government had to STOP people from getting evicted due to the fact of lesser income in homes. If this doesnt show greed then I just dont know. Other than that the staff is great but the owners are greedy. We are really scared to sign this and one month we come up short for even if its only 10 buck it happen especially during these hard financial times. BUT hey as long as they get paid everyone else can suffer. Not everyone has it to whereethey can just up.and move. But Im sure all the gunshots out here and break-ins out here and lack of any kind of security is worth the price hike. Or they might want to get another 3parking lots fixed out of God k ows how many. Where does this money go? And I will.not edit this. Have a good day stonethrow

She kept coming up with reasons on why they couldnt accept it and wouldnt explain when i asked questions to understand exactly what was needed. Needless to say I found a better place somewhere else! Maintenance was there to fix the problem within an hour.Enjoyed the swimming pool.Convenient to major stores and restaurants. Were some aggressive dog breeds in the complex. Quite a few. Complex should enforce its policy regarding those breeds. Primarily pit bulls.Overall, was satisfied with my decision to reside there.

Honestly they didnt deserve the 1 star. I moved in August of 2017. The very first day the toilet over flooded due to something needing to be replaced. Next, there was a murder 2 to 3 months later. I had purchased a new washer and dryer and was never able to dry properly because the dryer vent was clogged. The office NEVER and I mean NEVER addressed the issue. Where I am now my dryer works perfect. The pool would be nice if people wouldnt show up in their everyday clothes and get in the pool. Last but not least the double homicide that took place. That was the final straw! I asked Management to let me out of my lease because I secured a new a new place. She said no, but she understood how I felt. I would have to disagree because people are not getting murdered at her front door. I didnt feel safe here and neither did my son. My suggestion is BEWARE do your duel diligence but most of all BEWARE!

I don’t even know where to begin. Our apparent is literally falling apart. And these aren’t just tiny ignorable problems either. Oh no, we have plenty of those we are dealing with already. So much water damage from leaks that are still not fixed. I can’t even have people over because how disgusting the place looks without repairs. It’s been WEEKS. Instead of tending to the issues, they’d rather pass on the problems to someone else, over and over, hoping we will eventually just stop complaining. The ceilings in our closets have caved in from soaking up water and still haven’t been fixed. There are giant water stains, peeling paint, and mold on our living room ceiling from a leak that they never showed up to fix(after confirming a day). We have called so many times asking for repairs. We’ve once went days without working toilets (4 people in this home) because they took so long to even look at the issue. Let’s not even get into the BUGS. Or the 4 KILLINGS in the past 2 months in this β€œgated community”. These places are disgusting and I’m ashamed to have lived here. I’m happy I’m not bound to this place because I’m leaving ASAP. I have been here for 2 years and it has been nonstop issues from management to maintenance. I moved in my apartment and within a week had to be moved to another unit because the apartment was infested with roaches. The new unit was nice until summer when a mysterious mold started growing out of all the vents. I called and submitted work order after work order and nothing was done about it. Then 2 months later maintenance came in and tore a huge hole in the ceiling and left it for another 2 months. A month later they wrongfully filed eviction papers against me after the rent had been paid in full. Angie is rude everytime I’ve ever had to go in the office for anything. I’ve had to go to the office multiple times to pick up packages that they’ve claimed they hadn’t received but had signed for them. They’ve gone through 5-6 managers since I’ve moved in and none of them have improved it. The crime in the neighborhood is out of control and now all of a sudden my car has been towed for no reason with no notice. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! Greensboro has plenty of better options!

I lived in the Stonesthrow apartment complex for the span of one year. Over that time period there were multiple issues regarding the community, the environment, the staff, and the maintenance. The community itself was all always having issues. The idea of a gated community might make you feel better about living in the area where the complex is located. But the gates were not functioning for 80% of the time I was living there. The gate is always open, it never closes at all. In addition to the front gate, the back gate can not be accessed from the outside. You can only exit the back gate and when you enter, you must drive around to the front. With that being said, people would still drive in through the exit of the back gate and it would sometime hold up traffic. Sometimes the back gate didnt even work! We would not be notified so, we would drive up to the gate and it would not open. This would also build up traffic and I would have to drive all the way to the front entrance. The environment overall not a good one. Over the span of being there my car was broken into not once, but twice! I never went outside by myself at night and heard gunshots throughout the week. The staff is one of the biggest issues I have. There was absolutely no communication whatsoever between the staff. One person would tell us one thing and someone else would tell us something completely different. We would talk to them over and over again and be strung up in a web of confusion. In addition to the miscommunication within the office, the communication from staff to resident was very poor. We were told we would receive a call in a couple off days and not receive one for a week, only to march back up to the office to be told that again. It was not a good experience at all. WITH THAT BEING SAID I must shout out Natasha and Loretta in the front office they were amazing. The last and the worse was maintenance. During my time at Stonesthrow, we had one huge issue that almost made me pull a lawsuit. One morning we starting having grey water leak into my our apartment. It smelt putrid and was harsh on the skin. It sunk into our carpets. My roommate and I had to put out bowls to catch the water. When we called said what was happening they said they would send someone immediately. 5 DAYS LATER, after we went up to the office again they came to fix the issue. We later found out it was sewage from upstairs. We were left to deal with that. I have health issues and I get sick very easily. I am very lucky I did not get sick. I cannot iterate this enough. DO NOT LIVE HERE!

UPDATED REVIEW!!!! Long but read the whole thing if you are considering moving here. We lived there for 4.5 years and broke our lease (details below), and we are NOT looking back.Let’s be fair and start with the good things. Convenient location and rent is very fair, just remember the buildings are older and not as up to date as other complexes in the area. Office staff are polite and genuinely try to help but also see the next section for additional comments. Great apartment layouts and the maintenance team has gotten MUCH better and faster within the last 6 months or so.Now for the bad and why I do not recommend this property. Walls are paper thin, you can hear everything your neighbors do, which depending on your neighbors may or may not be an issue. Over the past few months the quality of people moving into the complex has gone SIGNIFICANTLY down. I didn’t feel safe going out at night as there were always random people hanging around at all hours. Gates have been broken for over a year and this complex has a history of crime and shootings. We moved out due to significant neighbor issues- people moved in below us and constantly played loud music and TV between 12-6AM, behaved aggressively, and made living there completely intolerable and we felt very unsafe around them. All stonesthrow management did was say call the police.....well we didn’t feel like that was an option as these people were already being aggressive and would surely have retaliated. We chose to break our lease over this. Stonesthrow found someone to take over our lease, but this person later cancelled and management didn’t even bother to let us know this happened until we went to pay the fee for breaking the lease. It’s not about the money- it’s how poorly this situation was handled in general. Other neighbors in that building are moving out because of the same issues with the same people but this doesn’t seem to be a big deal to stonesthrow.Following our recent experience there, I would certainly not recommend this complex.

Ive lived here for an entire year now and feel that I can write a pretty honest & fair review. I moved to Greensboro out of state and picked the apartment from the reviews at the time, shortly after I moved in 2 dangerous incidents happened within the complex in a 3 months time, that made me a little nervous . They held a community meeting and for a couple of months increased the security presence this off bat put a bad taste in my mouth and made me uneasy, next Id like to say I like a good majority of the front office staff they have been friendly and helpful, my only complaint is the occasional inconsistency in information, my apartments fire place has had Bat/Birds living in it for my entire stay here, the first time I reported it I was told to purchase a log and burn it to clear the chimney out, my inexperience in this made me cautious to attempt so I reported it to another office member and got put on a list for animal control (I have yet to get a visit but I am on the list) my next issue would be with they way they address concerns, on my way home from a concert i walked up on a person shining a flashlight into a vehicle, I made my office aware and they asked me to always notify the police which I had already done, I dont want this review to be only negatives so I will say that I enjoy my neighbors they are majority older and families who are lively and friendly, but I understand that Im lucky. My last complaint is the increase in rent within a years span my rent has gone up 27 dollars, but the quality of my apartment or the complex hasnt changed, also when I signed my lease at the beginning I was promised to have my carpet cleaned after a year, Ive been informed that is now void, this year has flown past and Im grateful for the staff when they have helped me and my amicable neighbors but I am dissapointed in few of the conditions unaddressed within the complex, Stonesthrow isnt a bad option and isnt somewhere thats intolerable but they do have some improvements to make. UPDATE: this is my second year rent has increased by 60 dollars... my car has been broken in, bats & birds are still in my chimney, Im a graduate student just trying to finish up school Im highly dissapointed

Do not move in here. The maintenance is terrible. I wish I could give a negative rating to this place. They fool people with this nice reception setting at the front desk but the real attitude of the staff starts showing once you move in. They have the worst staff in the office. And you literally have to beg them for days to send maintenance in your apartment every time there is an issue. I had a one and a half bathroom apartment. The half bathroom downstairs would start flooding whenever someone takes a dump. This happened at around 11p.m one night. I called the emeegency maintenance. The response I got over the phone from some guy was that We cant come over right now because this is not an emergency situation since you have 2 bathrooms. We will come the next morning. Guess what? They did not show up for the next couple of days until 4 different people went to the office with this issue.

Ive seen residents (of the non-thug variety) physically push the gate open and break it. The lines at the gate are probably all residents who dont want to pay the replacement fee for their key card. Im moving out of this dump hole in a few weeks and I cant wait! Ive lived here for almost 10 years and thats waaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. To be fair, it was pretty good when I moved in and Koury Corp. was running it, but things have gone steadily downhill since Hawthorne Management took over in 2009. I will never rent from Hawthorne again!Security is a joke. The gate is broken more than it is operational (Ive never seen it remain operational for more than three weeks at a time in more than nine years) and when it does work, people just piggyback on the car in front of them. One car going through the gate legitimately can let an infinite number of other cars through if they get there before the gate closes completely. Rent-a-cops drive through the complex periodically, but thats all they do; they just drive through. The only bigger joke than security is maintenance. They are ABSOLUTELY INCOMPETENT. Their standard operating procedure seems to be to ignore maintenance requests when they first come in. If the tenant does follow up, they claim to have not received the initial request and then they come out and dont fix the problem. On one occasion, I had weather stripping falling out of the kitchen window. When maintenance eventually came, they put new weather stripping on the front door. Really??? They cant tell the difference between a door and a window? I ended up fixing that one myself. Took me two minutes with a tube of silicone. On another occasion, I had floor tiles coming loose in the bathroom. Their solution was to re-caulk the tub and the toilet. It eventually took more than three weeks to get that repair done properly. Their excuse was that the grout was on back order. Really? Lowes and Home Depot are both 10 minutes away. Lately, my solution for maintenance problems has been to call Hawthornes corporate office in Greensboro and raise hell with them. They have been kind enough to give me the regional maintenance managers cell phone number.Over the years, the main saving grace of Stonesthrow has been that the rent was pretty reasonable for the size of the apartment. That is no longer the case. Since taking over, Hawthorne has consistently raised the rent by larger and larger margins each time my lease was up for renewal. For me, this time was the last time.

The area is good and convenient to a lot of places (Four Seasons Mall, Walmart, convenience stores, restaurants) but there has been 3 people killed over here in less than 1 year. Those happened in broad daylight. The apartments are out-dated for the amount of rent they ask for. I had to weather proof my own apartment after maintenance couldnt do it right. Smh. The people in the office have attitudes & are very nonchalant. The new manager is rude & acts like she doesnt care. Angie is great & shes the ONLY person that I can handle in there. Lastly, maintenance is not that good either. However, they claim to never get work orders from the staff.

Now that I am all settled in my new home and far far away from this disgusting, unprofessional, useless and worthless not even equipped to be an apartment/business I can leave my review. If I could give you a ZERO I would! Nasty nasty nasty place they dont care to take care of pest problems, if your appliances arent working its not an emergency so they wont be fixing anything. My husband got so upset with the staff at the end of our time there that he flipped his lid and yelled at one of them. I went to the office 9 months pregnant to apologize for him yelling and beg them to fix our drain so that I could do my laundry that had been sitting there for a week! The manager was such a beast and such a rude unprofessional person, but they finally fixed it. It should never have to get to that point! You should be able to have a liveable apartment if youre paying for it!! Free of bugs, mold, broken appliances, trash all over the parking lot, cabinets hanging off the hinges! DO NOT MOVE TO THIS TRASHY HELL HOLE!!!

The new maniger that is there has a bad attitude. They take forever to fix anything and when you make a note on the things that you put in that needs fixing when you move in they loose it so you wont have a record on it. Thank God I had it on my email. At least the manager from before was very polite. This new one isnt. And to move in the only ones that you deal with are the receptionist. So they do all the work?

I lived here 3 years and finally moved out last week Im telling you guys do NOT move here!!!! I am so relieved to be away from this place.a few months ago we basically got our car stolen some people tried to break into our car and while doing so they managed to some how break the car to the point where it isnt driveable anymore they had to come and tow our car away it was a really nice car and worked so well! I was heartbroken. We had put a notice back in February 2018 to move out of the apartment we stayed in to move into one of the town homes in this same complex and the office workers told us we would be able to move in may.May passes the town house still isnt ready they didnt call us to tell us it was ready till a few days ago! In July! We were frustrated that we couldnt move into the townhouse but now I realize it was a miracle we couldnt move into that town house I do not want to live in a community where people are getting murdered theres been a murder/death every year Ive lived there. we lived right behind where the shooting happened recently 3 weeks ago I couldnt even sleep at night I was so scared I was also terrified just to walk to the car and take out the trash there are always crack heads walking around and people just siting on the stair cases our neighbors were rude and stomped constantly on the floor above us it was awful it didnt use to be like this the place is just going down hill. I almost forgot to mention people jiggling the door knobs of the apartments this has happened multiple times what if my door wasnt locked all the times this happened!im telling you guys if yall are planning on moving here watch your backs and lock your doors and dont expect to be respected by some of those people at the front office. This whole things a trap the front office looks so beautiful and nice and then you move in and its awful you will regret it! Bugs crawling everywhere dont do it go somewhere else your life isnt worth saving a few bucks!

Im only giving a 1 because 0 is not a option. I have been ready to leave since the day I got here. Let me start off by saying my air was broken for 3 days in the middle of July. It literally broke the day I moved in. I was told to go to the pool go cool off. It wasnt until I mentioned that it was against the tenant and landlord agreement to have the air out when its over 80 degrees that the issue was resolved. Since then my air has broken 4 times. Our dishwasher breaks every two months. If anything is broken in your apartment just know the response you will get is maintenance is behind right now. I have so many other complaints about stonesthrow. Trust me nothing is good, not even the staff.

First place I had in Greensboro. The apartment layouts are amazing with balcony/porch adjoining to master bed, good size kitchens, his and hers closets, and hugeee living rooms. Complex includes a basic gym with way too few machines(dated machines at that), clubhouse to get coffee/work on computer in business office/& washer dryer in laundry room. Staff back then seemed very sweet and helpful and maintenance is really good abt coming out in a timely manner even after hours. One thing I did have a problem with was the fact I paid 950 a month, while other people paid next to nothing even though they were rented in same unit/layout/length of lease. Upon signing lease they conveniently failed to mention they doubled as section 8 housing. Outside @ night prob isnt the safest place to be, although I never had any problems. Last main complaint is that because the complex is so close to a neighborhood all the neighborhood kids come and use the pole that is meant to be for residents only while living there one child not from their drowned because it was so crowded they really should be more strict about who gets in

Horrible to say the least. Maintenance is seemingly non existent here. Ive been in my town home for about 9 months now with problems that I let the office know about on day one. There hasnt been a single follow up or attempt to fix a thing. All the appliances are completely out dated. Cars getting broken into has been a regular thing since Ive been here smh. The office staff are all rude. Like really rude. They hit you with random charges that are not in your lease at all. The gated community is just a front. The gates barely even work. This whole complex just sucks. Move in at your own risk lol

I have lived here since 2014. I am going to give you this most accurate review I possibly can. I will discuss the apartment management and staff, the apartment, the maintenance staff, and the community as I believe these are most important when searching for your next home. The management has changed too many times for me to count in the last 4 years. There has been really bad management to the point that I was not even able to reach them. Then there has been management that has made me hopeful, but left shortly after arriving. However, as of now it seems most promising. I have finally received consistent communication and friendly service. The apartments themselves are reasonably priced and I would hope so with being an older property. The price has risen each year though. Im in the Onyx floor plan, because I love the space that it offers. Many of the appliances are not updated and you may want to inspect the unit before moving as each apartment have minor and sometimes major differences. The maintenance staff is where I could see the most room for improvement. They have never given me confidence since I have lived here. The office often says they are understaffed. I know neighbors who have had belongings stolen. They also do not contact you before entering, even if requested. Often times they only focus on one repair at a time and rather than just replacing the faulty equipment they are forced to make unsatisfactory repairs that have led to my personal belongings being ruined. Make sure and I can not stress this enough, HAVE RENTERS INSURANCE.The community also leaves a lot to be desired. However, this is something that is hard to manage. The gates have only worked two years out of the four I have lived here. They are often hit from people trying to tail gate. The back gate only allows exit as well. I dont believe they make a difference. There has also been a surge of homicides in the community in the last couple years. This has been very alarming. The complex has responded with community watch meetings that have sometimes replaced monthly socials. Cops often patrol the area as well.I hope that this review helps you make a informed decision and you address any concerns prior to moving in. Do your due diligence and I hope that you can make a positive impact on this quickly changing community. I have made a lot great memories here and look forward to future.

Stonesthrow is the worst place to live glad our lease is up in August. The maintenance here sucks the office staff sucks and it seem like Angie always high off drugs. Not to mention a young boy just died at the pool on Sunday June 12, 2016 and stonesthrow do not even care or even offer sympathy to the family and to make things worst they open pool right back up two days later on June 14,2016. This place doesnt care about any of the resident or maintenance on thier apartments only thing they care about is RENT DUE ON TIME.....money hungry sorry company ever. DO NOT LIVE HERE AT ALL TRUST YOU WILL REGRET IT

Terrible place to live dont waste your money or your time. They have security that drives around all the time but yet my car got broken into twice not to mention all the others constantly. The gate is a total joke that doesnt even go all the way around and was broken the majority of the 2 years I lived there its more of a prop to give a false sense of being upscale when its far from that. They will only respond to minor maintenance calls but then very poorly correct the problems and only correct them cosmetically (caulk over moldy leaking faucets and fallen wall tiles in the upstairs shower just pushed water into the wall which caused more mold and water damage and the ceiling downstairs to leak which was also just caulked and painted over and of course leaked again) They blow off important ones like leaking roofs and damaged 2nd story patios and try to act like you did it. Most not allbof the office staff are very unprofessional and will do things like talk about you amongst themselves when they think you have left or talk about other residents as if you are not sitting right there to hear it. Its as if they dont get very much training either because when you call to ask a question you will get a different answer every time not to mention the high turnover rate. It takes a while to get packages too even if you provide the tracking number showing delivered and signed for by _____. I turned in my notice and was given a move-out date and I asked if this was really the last day I had to turn in my keys and was told yes but when I showed up to turn in my keys it was a day that they were not even open. Although I left a forwarding address I never got a final bill but several months later I received a letter from a collections agency stating I was being charged several hundred dollars for going over my lease although the office was not opened for 3 days for me to turn in the keys. When I did finally get to turn in the keys they didnt even ask me who I was or which unit they simply took the keys until I asked and then my name was just put on a post it. I was also billed for damages that were in the apartment prior to me moving in and were even listed on my move in walk through sheet. When I called the front office to dispute and question the charges I was told I had to call corporate because I was no longer a resident but corporate is just as bad they do not return phone calls. DONT PUT YOURSELF THROUGH IT!!!!!! You will be lied to and given the run around. Dont fall for the we live it motto they pretend to live by Im sure they would never stand for the way they expect the residents to live.UPDATE:: I called the regional office the way the generic response said and still after a month not a single response what a crock...DONT FALL FOR THIS PLACE!!!

Id give 0 stars if that was possible. Everything is all a front. The office looks great but the apartments are terrible. And maintenance has done nothing to fix the apartment after 6 months of being here. The storage door has been broken for months and we got no follow ups. Theyll move you into an apartment thats still dirty. Wish I could post pictures of what the sinks look like, terrible. The kitchen drawers are all broken and nothing has been done. Ive paid rent on time and once got a notice saying I owed 1200 dollars. Called and they said my rent is 800 when my lease clearly says 750. I dont even bother paying in the office, pay online! I cant waaaait to move out of here. Breaking my lease because it is that bad. Id rather pay the fee than to pay this complex another 6 months. All town homes are supposed to have screen doors and we never got one. Theres broken down cars in the parking lots. Old appliances. Paint was done messy so theres paint on the stairs. Carpet was still stained when I moved in. The caulking around the tub is terrible. Even the floor is missing pieces. And that is how we were given the apartment. Wish I never moved here. Found a better apartment at pinecroft place. Take your money elsewhere pleeeeaseee!

Im glad my family & i will be moving out in a few weeks and never looking back. If you want to live in a place where things are broken and you notice it after you move in & its still not fixed 11 months later then stonesthrow is for you. They have maintenance but its more like the lets patch this and that and not really fixing issues at hand even after calling one million times about the same thing or when you call to get something fixed you have to call constantly because they dont remember or write down when you called in the first place. When we first moved in the dishwasher was leaking, and the master bathroom has a leaking pipe still and leaking shower faucets. Ive called at least 4 times about it alone? & patches in the wall but not painted over. Its also poorly insulated during the summer it was hot with my air on and with winter it is cold with my heat on they claimed everything was fine. The people in the office are the most rude and disrespectful people I cannot believe they actually promote a complex so outdated and rundown & tried to get us to sign a new lease but up the rent weve never been late on rent but sometimes i wondered why im paying so much to live in this crap hole of an apartment. I dont recommend anyone move here. Theyve got some work to do. The gate has always been broken what is the point of gates If they dont work. Instead of spending money on all these social apartment events they should use that money and fix this complex and get new management team. Like I said already if you can avoid living here then please do.

When Stonesthrow was under the management of Koury Corporation, this neighborhood was better maintained and the personnel in the front office were fair and professional. I lived there from 2000-2003 and had no complaints. However, this time Ive had nothing but problems. Immediately after we moved in the pipes burst and left a gaping whole in my ceiling, which took them 3 months to repair. The ceiling is in disrepair once again, and I have heard every excuse under the sun, and they wonder why I will renew my lease. The front office staff is rude and have poor follow-up to none at all, except when it comes to late fees etc. The parking lot is always filthy and we were told that pitbull terriers were prohibited and I have seen at 10 in the neighborhood. This was not one of my better decisions...

*Once Again I find myself updating my review because of this HORRIBLE apartment complex.Just like my original review below a man came in my house without knock, ring, or notice. Told me that the place below had a leak and they NEEDED to come in regardless of the fact that our lease states that a leak isnt a maintenance emergency. So I told him to come back later. When he comes back he apparently made a report saying we had bed bugs. Now the office is coming at us for $800 to fix these imaginary bugs....Lets maintenance men unlock your doors and come in your house when youre not home. Caught them doing it to my neighbors and then they attempted to come in my house without any kind of warning other than my door bell rang.

STAY AWAY - I rented a townhome there, and moved out EARLY, due to the large number of thugs running around there. It was bad enough that I bought a taser for protection, just to walk to and from my car when I left for and came hone from work, especially at night. The security gate is a JOKE, I have had people whiz around me at the gate when I opened it with my passkey, to get in. There is also a so called security service, which does absolutely nothing but ride around.Thugs and gangsta wanna bes will sit in the parking lot at the rental office after hours, just waiting for someone to open the gate so that they can follow them in or rush in, in front of them.I had a kid almost hit my car by doing that. The area I lived in housed some pretty rough individuals - there were parties all the time. I came home from work one night to people in lawn chairs in the parking lots, drinking beer, loud music, cussing, jumping over balconies, you name it. I called the police who broke it up. The next day there were Corona bottles laying around everywhere. People let their dogs poop EVERYWHERE, with very very few bothering to clean up after them. Some people just opened the doors and let their dogs out to roam at will. Trash collection from dumpsters was sketchy. I have seen the dumpster at the corner of my building overflowing, with people just laying their stinking trash on the ground to pile up. NASTY The toilet bowls of the townhouse I rented were full of some kind of black fungus growing in it when I moved in NASTY I once found somebodys clothes in the grass beside of the building I lived in, must have been some party. Again, NASTYI found two little lost dogs that people had just turned loose, on two separate occasions. When the pool opened for the season, there were so many people there you couldnt even see the water, and 90% of them did not live there. Like I said, anybody could come and go at any time, the security gate is a JOKE. The 2nd or 3rd weekend the pool was open a kid (who I was told didnt live there) drowned.More than once I came home to find police cars cruising the part of the complex where I lived, looking to pick people up or responding to disturbance of the peace calls.Oh, and you wont get your deposit back either. There are plenty of really great places to live in Greensboro and the surrounding area, THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM.

The mold in many of the apartments the fact that the gates never close & the crimes that have happened there, reported and unreported it was a decent place to live initially. Hawthorne has come in and it all went downhill. Koury was the best. The new management will let you move in on a special then raise your rent until you are forced out.The new lady who is running the property made it clear to my family and other tenants that she is rooting out people who pay late. Late being one day after the 5th of the month. It turns out this new managements has evicted a few of my fellow neighbors even when they did not have to. One family lived there for many years and the new management would not take their payment and told the courts they just wanted them out and evicted them after filing papers on the 15th (rent due on the 5th). I have paid my rent late (with the late fee) when it was more convenient for me and she told me if I continued to pay late, They would have to evict me.Needless to say I am not renewing my lease. What they are doing eventually might get there office staff in trouble. DO NOT MOVE HERE UNTIL THEY UPDATE THE APARTMENTS AND SWITCH MANAGEMENT!!!!
