We have enjoyed our time living in this community (two years so far), and are constantly astounded by the beauty of the trees and natural areas visible from our balcony. It feels like were completely secluded even though we are located so close to everything we could possibly need! The office staff, particularly Cheryl and Corina have been very kind and easy to work with. They even moved us to a nicer upgraded apartment for the same price last year. Renewing the lease was very easy, we just signed the papers through an online portal. The maintenance staff, especially Howard, are very prompt and will help you out before the day is over. The apartments themselves are nice and spacious. They were built in 1988, so they have popcorn ceilings and the windows could stand to be updated, but overall I cant complain! I wish I could live here forever!

Moving into Beacon Wendover in 07 (Was under different management at the time), the staff started out as welcoming, and the facilities were up to par. Over time, and under new management, the property became rather seedy. Management was often distant, even cold at times. Maintenance was friendly, though I felt they were not adequately equipped by management, and were often berated by the property owner.Crime in that area certainly became noticeable. From vandalism, robbery, even one case of rape. I myself had my car broken into. Thankfully, the perp was dumb enough to hide on the property, as he was staying with a resident without the offices knowledge. Kudos to the Greensboro Police Department for catching the guy, a rare occurrence when dealing with auto-related robbery. With all of this, the cost of living here was rather steep, for a one bed/bath. While the rent decreased slightly over time, what you paid versus what you received never matched up. That area of town does offer a lot of convenience however, in regards to dining, pharmacies, shopping, etc...In summary, the property I moved into, was not the same property I left when I decided not to renew my lease after 5 years. Moved to another part of town, so I cannot say if Beacon Wendover has improved, or declined further. I advise potential residents to do extensive research prior to signing a lease.

Nevwr jad any maintenance issues and the location is great. Near a ton of shops and food. Office staff is wonderful and knows you by name which made me feel like they cared.

Ive had a lease here 6 months but was suppose to be a year . That ended short due to some financial issues . While staying here I noticed that the management was horrible . I moved in, inspected everything like I was suppose to . The person who lived above me was just moving out . All my furniture was new. I didnt have a couch or anything the only furntiture I had was my bed and dresser . I started to notice some bed bugs coming through the vents and crawling on the walls but not in the bed . I immediately informed the leasing office about this issue which at first she was just nonchalant about then when I realized the issue was not being taken care of I called back and she told me to send pictures to her email, I did that and she claimed she didnt receive them which I still have saved in my phone for future and legal purposes .i explained to them that I was expecting a child within a couple months and needed the treatment done asap to be able to move his furniture in . She told me that she would be speaking with her manager about my options and would contact me back . She finally calls back and just informs me that the treatment would be added to my monthly rent. None of which I knew how much the actual treatment was until I went into the leasing office and she informed me that the treatment would cost $600 and $50 would be added to my rent . No papers to confirm that price or anything to ensure me that I was actually getting the lowest price of treatment because all terminex did was sprayed down the cracks in the wall with bug spray (they left in my trash can so I knew) and put a bed bug protector on my bed . So I started thinking was that really worth $600.00 ? The bed bugs were gone but I was not satisfied with how they handled the situation and I started looking for somewhere else to stay . Needless to say I am moving out of this apartment today ! I do not recommend anyone to come over to Wendover at River Oaks to make it at home . I feel like I was scammed out of my money and refuse to pay anything else to them !

My roommate and I moved into a two bedroom two bath in September of 2017. We are up for a renewal and are leaving with several reasons for that decision. The apartment itself is beautiful. The appliances work great, the bathtubs look brand new, we have spacious walk in closets and love our third floor deck. We also have a fireplace, and maintenance is very good at maintaining the upkeep. Our outlets don’t work at times, but other then that, no complaints about the apartment itself. This neighborhood however, is AWFUL. My roommates vehicle was hit by a careless gentleman while I watched, and he refused to stop so she had to pay for the damages. My vehicle has been hit several times but all minor damage, nothing extensive. A new ding or scratch will appear every few weeks. There is nowhere near enough parking and sometimes we have to park in a different lot. The management has no concern for noise complaints or trash. We discussed our first set of neighbors with them; who constantly had the police called on them and ALWAYS left trash in the breezeway and nothing was done. One time they busted glass bottles in the breezeway and when I walked my dog the glass got stuck in his paws. When I told management, again, nothing was done. The neighbors behind me play loud music every night until 12 or 1. The walls are so thin I hear it when people walk up the staircase. Don’t choose this place if you have a nice car, are a light sleeper, or are particular about trash being monitored. My downstairs neighbors leave trash bags full of diapers on their balcony so when we sit outside it smells like poop. The on-site laundry facility is always disgusting and there are several machines that don’t work. My roommates dog was attacked and hurt by a pit bull off of a leash, and when we told management what happened they said there was nothing they could do about it. They have unapproved animals living on site that are allowed by their owners to run off of a leash and they say there’s nothing they can do. They don’t do inspections so neighbors living in filth are able to continue to live in filth, and if they have ants or roaches you just have to spray and keep your apartment spotless to avoid them coming into yours. There is a small creek that runs through the center of the complex and the mosquitos are terrible. I constantly have bites up and down my legs. The landscaping looks great near the front office but all of our shrubs are dying, there are no flowers IN the complex, and there are several trees down surrounding the walking trail that could attract snakes. For those with animals watch where you walk. The location is the only thing this place has going for it, and I can guarantee you it’s not worth it. Drive the extra 10-20 minutes. You’ll spend less on gas driving a little further for shopping or dining than you will on repairs for your vehicle because theyre constantly being damaged. When it came time for our renewal, instead of a phone call inviting us to stay, we received a very dry letter on our door explaining that we now have to pay an additional fee for renters insurance to stay here (never mind the fact that they required you have it to move in and we already have two policies, one each) and they offered no special or discount for renewing for another term. My roommate and I are both in property management and I have never used a letter for a renewal. I always personally call the residents to invite them to stay and offer a carpet cleaning, one month free, or even to paint an accent wall for their extended loyalty. When I called to ask if an email was okay for submitting our notice, she didn’t bother to ask why we didn’t want to stay or if there was anything she could do to retain us. We pay every month on time, never cause complaints or disturbances, and obey all property rules: and they don’t give a damn about us. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because we love our actual apartment, it’s beautiful. Until we step outside or pass the office and are reminded of the Hell we deal with to be in it.

This apartment is horrible. I received a key to an non-inspected apartment. The leasing agent told me this as she handed me my key. I walked into my apartment to find a disgusting tub with mold on the bottom of it. They also painted a accent wall but it was done so horribly. The paint was uneven and tacky (paint bleeding to where it shouldnt be, blotchy paint, etc.) Dont move here unless youre expecting to drastically lower your standards!! Beware!! Get it right the first time! Oh yeah I still had to put in a 30 day notice to move out. I had the key less than 10 days, go figure ?!?

So the fire alarm in my 1 bedroom 1 bath apt goes off over anything if you boil water it goes off if you use the oven at all it goes off, if you light a candle in the same room it goes off, told management, they said to just press the button when it goes off but you push the button and 30 seconds later it goes off again and I’m not trying to just keep pushing it so I told them my problem and they just gave me the run around “we’ll see what we can do” haven’t heard anything since, the maintenance guy for my building is a good guy though
