3rd time getting my nails done here and I have gotten artwork each time (that I’ve loved!) I had a bit of a spat with the male nail tech (not sureof his name) but his tone was rude after I showed him a picture of exactly what I wanted. Despite this dispute, I ended up getting my nails done by Hannah and she did a phenomenal job! Would recommend her if you’re looking to get a specific design done.

So I went to Pleasant nails and spa on E. Beltline 3 days ago and look how my fingers look. I noticed these errors later they day of me going to the salon at first. I just didn’t have enough time to contact them due to the holiday. Well I called them today and told them I am not satisfied with this service. The manager asked to see pics and I sent them and HE SAID to come in do they could be corrected. This is powder remind you. So his wife smoothed my nails out and did a clean up because it was so clumpy on the sides and underneath with the powder. Then the manager told me he could not do a fill in with powder. I said why not? I just got them done. They tried to use the top coat gel to fill in the gap. I said that’s unacceptable. He told me to get out and I said I refused to leave without any type of service because at this point all my nails were buffed I had no top coat or nothing! Then he called the police on me. Like wow!!! I was not even being disrespectful. Each and every time I go I spend 100+ and even refered multiple people to them because I did feel like they do a good job. But seeing their true colors today made me realize they didn’t care about me. They cared about my money and humiliated me in their place of business. I’ve never had to go through this. I always spend the extra money because the powder last and I love ombré but after three days it look like I need a fill in!!! It was the police for me!!! Never will they get my money again

Ask for Hannah if you need your nails done and have a design in mind. She does an AMAZING job!! I have been going for about a year now and she continuously does a great job. Their prices for gel nails with shellac over top is cheaper than other places I have gone and truly hold up better. I have not had any issues and will continue to go back.

If you’re looking for pleasant nails, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I went in for a dip manicure since my usual salon couldn’t get me in when I needed it and I was very disappointed. The manicurist did not do any nail prep or cleanup other than removing my previous dip and ended up missing the sidewalls on most of my nails, as in they weren’t covered with powder. Less than a week later I’ve had 2 nails crack completely off and the others have visible cracks in them. Next time I’ll wait the extra time to see my usual girl.

I called 15 minutes ahead of time and spoke to the owner. He said my friend and I could get right in. When we arrived, he remembered our names and was very friendly. The studio is clean and well equipped with many people working very hard! I had an amazing pedicure with the works and it was lovely. I wish I could remember my techs name, because she was great and so sweet. You can tell they have a lot of pride in what they do, I never felt hurried, and it was nice to be pampered as I don’t get this done but every year or so. The owner came around again and made sure everything was going well, again remembered both of our names and was a really sweet man.The place is pretty and updated, bathrooms were sparkling clean, massage chairs were awesome. The price was great as far as the service and value. Thank you for a wonderful experience.We will be back!

Rachael is the best!! Shes friendly, and does a great job. The deluxe pedicure is very relaxing and the gel manicure she does are beautiful and last a long time. I drive an hour each way for this service...definitely worth my time for the quality work Racael does. Thanks Rachael! Youre the best😁

I decided I was done with this place a year ago! Sunday I tried to give them another chance here it is Wednesday and my nails looks like they have not been filled literally two day 65 dollars gone to waste.When I called their excuse not to help is the manager is gone and they don’t know when he will be in.The last time the shallac came off of my big toe altogether In One day and I was told to come back at 5pm when I called in the morning. Would have like to wear sandles had somewhere to be .These ppl care nothing about customer service! Extremely rude

Did a walk in appt, temperature was taken and I was seated quickly. Amy was my technician and did an amazing job. Had a manicure (gel powder dip) and pedicure and she did a great job. She was also very pleasant and sweet with conversation and care. I recommend this salon and this nail tech.

I had a great experience getting a dip manicure and an eyebrow wax. Ken was my nail technician and he did a beautiful job and made good recommendations. I also got my eyebrows waxed and the technician was great and did it precisely and gently ❤️

Ok so on the 6th of August i took my friend here and the guy/owner told us my friend could not fit in the pedicure chair so he could not service us that was totally uncalled for we go to any other salon never ever have had nobody ever say anything like that before so we leave the salon humiliated so my friend writes a review about the experience we had and that was that.so 2 weeks go by .. meaning today i go back in myself for my nail with my regular girl and she whispers to me the owner said i can no longer service you here but you can talk to him so i go up to the man and ask why he says he no longer wants me in his salon because of the review its bad for business ummm Im pretty sure what he did was bad for business so needless to say he made me leave i can no longer go back... first thing Monday morning i will be making flyers and calling the news station about this place and what he is saying to customers that is total discrimination . i will never recommend this salon to nobody i hope this OWNER gets what he deserves .

In response to the owner, no I will not reconsider. I knew what I wanted, I tried telling the nail tech what I wanted. When I saw that we weren’t understanding each other I told them to stop. I rather have no nails then getting a set I wouldn’t like. I’ve had techs before who have done an amazing job here, and wouldn’t have left such a terrible review had he responded differently. Instead of helping me taking off what little he had done, he told me to take the glued on acrylics off my nail beds myself. After a while another nail tech helped remove them after she saw I was struggling. She was a godsend, but obviously you can’t always get a great tech here.ReResponse: That is a lie, and you know it. I am done fighting with an immature old man.

Felt rushed, the manager was constantly hovering. Nails turned out awesome because the tech was great but the vibe kinda sucked.

I realize it was a holiday and Mothers day to boot... however youre still getting paid a lot of money to do a good job. Its very disappointing when you say you can do a specific design and lie instead of saying you cant. The price you charged was absolutely absurd and literally I had to get another fill in a week and half. The place I went to asked where I went to do my nails because they were so messed up.

My wife goes here to get her nails done. Every place she has gone to in the past has had a steady decline in quality the more she goes but not here. Its like they are trying to impress her as a new customer every time. Money well spent.

Scheduled an appt for 4 pedicures for a Saturday. No issues with scheduling, but we get there and waited about 25 minutes to be seated and another 40 minutes before the pedis actually started. 2 of the girls in our group were started ahead. Another of the girls was greeted by a really nice tech, who then, instead of getting started on the third pedicure, opted to hand wash some towels. It took myself and another tech asking her to start for her to finally drop the towels and start on the pedicure. My tech did a good job and was nice. But given the experience, I was ready to get out of there. Once our pedicures were done, no one directed us to sit under the fan to get our nails dried. I had to take it up on my self to get up, grab my things and put myself under the nail dryer, which in turn messed up my pedicure. The owner was very nice and apologetic for the wait and even knocked a few $ off for the wait. Even with this, I would not go back and would not recommend.

Was very great about shortening nails due to requesting the day before and the lady did them a little longer than expected did the cut for free great experience getting my manicure and pedicure would recommend this place to customers at the restaurant I work for when people comment on my nails very awesome job guys keep up the hard work

The salon is clean and well staffed. Ive sent several friends and co-workers here as well... they loved them so much it has become their regular salon! Pleasant Nails is a nice salon. They keep the place very clean and comfortable. There always seems to be an adequate amount of technicians on staff, therefore making it easy to receive services on a walk in basis. They have a very large selection of polish colors and services available. And the fact that they’re open until 8pm on Saturday is a plus.

OMG!!!! I really enjoyed myself they gave me a Pedicure & a Manicure plus I sat in their Chair had the best massage I got the $100 packages deal plus I got my Eyebrow & my LipsWax extra $19 but it worth $119.

The building is good but they rushed us and did not give us time afterwards. some of my nails that my family got were good, some were not. ny nieces nails were very rushed and she is a little upset. overall experience is ok.

I came in with a picture I wanted done and not one finger is the same on the picture I showed them not only didn’t look like the picture but had stickers put on all messed up and not even or smooth nail had to rip off part of the nail polish so it’s not grinding on my finger. I should get a free set next time THIS IS TERRIBLE!!!!! How do I upload pictures!!!!!!!!!!

Was in and out fast service mani pedi eyebrows I did make an appt and I will be going back and recommend this place to others I went the extra mile and got the shellac is that how you spell it lol it’s extra like ten dollars so that’s that and bring cash so you can tip that’s what the sign says overall I spent 88 for the service and I tipped the lady 12 so total was 100 not bad for the kind of service I received yes they are practicing social distance and wearing mask

I recently got my nails done earlier (dip nails with a LV design) at this place and i am in love, the girl who did my nails was so professional and nice. everybody complimented my nails after i got out and even people in the salon wanted to see them. i am definitely obsessed with this set and i will be coming back.

Went in with a friend for her birthday, less than 2 weeks ago. all of my dip has already come off as had my shellac on my feet. I order a “vip” pedicure and it took all of maybe 15 minutes. the girl who did my feet/hands didnt say a single word the whole time i was there. the whole process took maybe 45 min. i have had my nails done for years and I know a pedi/dip should definitely take more than 45 min combined.$103 later (which is INSANE for the quality), I learned my lesson and will stick to my normal place across the street.

My toes look good but I can paint my toes myself. I get pedicures for the foot massage that I can’t do myself. I did not get a massage with my pedicure and they already charge more than most places around for a pedicure! I’ll be going somewhere else the next time I want to be pampered.

Love this place so much! Way better than the mall salons! I’ve been here three times and they always do amazing work! They are nice and gentle and have a big selection of colors. The staff is great and they care to make sure they aren’t hurting you and that you love the look of your nails! This is my go to salon! They do manicures, pedicures, gel, dip powder, and acrylics! I always come as a walk in and they get me in right away all the techs are super talented. It’s a big space which is great and very clean!

Came here today for the first time, believe I had Tony he definitely shaped my nails good. They were coffin originally but he filed the edges making them look better. Fill in with shellac 1 nail fixed and glitter on 2 nails was $46 even though it was a good$11 more than what I usually pay I would come back

My nails look great, they have made good accommodations for Covid and overall I am happy with my experience. However, as a Cosmetologist and Cosmetology instructor I am anyways hyper aware of a spas sanitation practices. My nail tech did not put the implements she used into a barbicide container after using them on me like she should have, but rather right back into her kit. And she rinsed the foot scrubber In the foot bath and put it back into her kit. I’m hoping and expecting everything was thoroughly sanitized/disinfectant after being used but I can’t be sure as these practices do not follow state regulation.

I have been to this salon a few times. Each time my nails looked great. I just went online to make an appointment and got caught up reading the reviews. Wow! The owners replies are hilarious but somewhat unsettling. The conversations look like a script from Seinfeld!I’ll go elsewhere

Went there recently for a shellac manicure. After confirming 3 times what i was there for the lady proceeded to try and dip my nails. After i told her i only wanted shellac she rushed the job, made one of my cuticles bleed and my nails started chipping 2 days later. I was able to sit in a chair right away, but i probably won’t be back. My last few experiences have not been good.

I been going here since their first day opening. Clean and the staff is cool. I recommend Vikki, Tammy or Ken.

I didnt catch the name of my nail tech, but she did a wonderful job. She was careful, quick, and concise. When she wasnt sure what I wanted or forgot, she asked me to make sure I was happy with what she was doing. When my nail was too short for the design I wanted, she tried something slightly different and nailed it. (◠‿◕)Im very happy with the results, and I will definitely be back.

Pleasant nails is my favorite nail spot in the Grand Rapids area. Tiffany is the lady who does my nails and she is AMAZING! She takes her time (but still fast) and makes sure my nails/toes look great! Also, they were crazy busy (due to spring break) and i was so pleased with the customer service. The owner came up to me personally and apologized for the wait and brought me a water. I recommend this place 100%. Nice employees and good customer service!

I come here whenever I visit my family in Michigan and my experience has been pleasant. I think the price is very reasonable compared to other places. I’m not usually one to write a bad review but my experience was awful! We went as walk ins when there were not many customers at all. I asked for a French pedicure and was given an attitude when I said I didn’t want shellac. Then watched as many other customers were offered a bottled water or other things to make them more comfortable. I asked if my person would really scrub the bottoms of my feet as that was really the reason I wanted a pedicure. She did the VERY minimum then immediately left when she was done, to go get on her phone over at an empty manicure station) without asking if I liked it or wanted anything fixed (which I did because my toenails looked yellowish and one of the white tips was done really badly). She left me just sitting in the pedicure chair with no shoes or direction that she was done or anything! I had to ask another worker if I was done or what I should do...I will NEVER go back there again. Definitely choose a different place! Horrible!

Their was 7 of us 3 adults 4 young adults that didnt know what they wanted an hour before they closed, it was a little intense but they took care of everyone of us and made sure we left happy. Thank you! Pleasant Nails

I don’t live in GR anymore, or I would still be a faithful customer to this salon. I worked up the street from them & I used to come here every two weeks a couple years ago. No matter what technician I had, my nails were always great & they could accommodate any requests I had, and if a nail broke they’d fix it for me immediately. The owners were absolutely SO lovely, husband & wife team knows what they are doing! They would greet me by name, speak to me by name, and overall treat me well. I always recommended this salon to my friends !!

Horrible service was given to my wife by a tech name KEN. First of all if your gonna do a rush job and give her an attitude when she ask you to fix something then customer service is not your type of job. My wife got her feet and hands done by the employee name KEN and even when she got home I noticed how terrible of a job he did. She felt so rushed and disrespected by him. I recommend anybody reading this review by either the owner or customer to not have KEN do your service and the owner needs to have a chat with this worker.

Hannah did an amazing job on my nails! Music is a little loud so it was hard to hear at times, but the animal documentaries made up for it. Quick service during a busy time! I’ll definitely be going back!

VERY VERY UPSET Went there a week ago today to get a pedicure with my best friend for my birthday and I was done before she was so the lady who is doing my pedicure decided she was going to clean the pedicure bowl while I was still sitting in the chair she sprayed something which I assume had bleach in it or some kind of a harsh cleaner all over my brand new leather sandals. When I said something to the guy who is doing my friends she came back over and said she Did Nite when I was sitting there watching her and she made me move my feet as she was spraying nothing was offered for compensation and I will never go back there so beware

Ive been going to this salon for about 5 years and have had my nails done by a specific person for about 3 years. Shes great and is as thorough as she can be with her schedule of clients but since the renovation, she rushes and I often have to wait 30 extra minutes for my scheduled appointment because the owner has them overbooked. After reading his very rude and inappropriate replies, Ive decided to seek out a new nail place. Your customers make you money for things like this new renovation... remember that when youre writing your replies. Im sad to leave the girl that does my nails but I can no longer support this business.

I have gone to this salon for a few years and was very happy. But they recently renovated and added on space. Nice upgrade but the quality has gone downhill a lot. It is like a race to get you in and out the door. And they do a very poor job. Sad to say, I am disappointed and will not be going back.

I went in with my friend for a kid-free date to get pedicures and they rushed me from the moment I stepped in the door. I had several people holler at me to pick out a Polish. The actual pedicure was MAYBE 15 minutes from start to finish and the lady cut my toe while cleaning up my cuticles. As soon as my polish was finished, the lady grabbed my stuff and stuck me in a corner to finish drying. It wasnt busy, so there was no reason for the rush. When I got home, I took a closer look at my toes and I think my 5 year old couldve done a better job. I definitely will not be back.

My wife took me here for a surprise date and I was very hesitant as this was my first time for a pedicure. It was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed it. The pedicure really helped with my callus and the foot massage was a nice touch.

I got my nails done at this place a couple weeks ago. I picked a light purple shellac nail polish that ended up turning my nails green the following day. When I went back in, the employees believed it was mood change until they went and checked the polish bottle to confirm that it actually was not mood change. They fixed it for me saying it shouldn’t have turned that color. The following day it turned green again. I called and told the owner I would be back the next day but had work so I couldn’t make it in until a few days later. During this time the nails continued to darken in green. When I went in again, the lady who did my nails was annoyed and showed her frustration towards me saying “if this happens again I will not fix it”. I never asked for mood changing nail polish and I never wanted my purple to turn green. If I did, I would pick a green nail polish. As the lady was unprofessional and forcefully started removing the polish from my nails, I asked her to stop because this wasn’t the service and time I paid for. I did not want my nails finished as they made me feel very uncomfortable. I asked for a refund as I only had the nail color I picked for only one day until it started changing green. They refused to refund my money. This is not a place I would recommend or go back to. The mistake is fine, but their unprofessional attitude and how rude they are towards me as a customer was definitely not what I was looking forward to.

Love this place. They always do a good job. Prices are a little high, but that is justified now that they are in a bigger, nicer space.

See picture. This is 3 days after the wax. Got my eyebrows and lips waxed, but they pretty much ripped off part of my skin on my eyes and it was/is PAINFUL. That’s the cut much calmer and less red/swollen than it was. Idk about the manicure but I do NOT recommend getting any waxing here at all.

I love this place! Hands down the best place I have ever gotten my nails done. The shellac stays on and doesnt chip for three weeks- I have yet to find anywhere else that has the same results. Theyre friendly, clean and do a great job!

Terrible terrible job on my nails. One they are breaking off literally at the TIP where the fake nail is placed. Havent even been 2 weeks of them being done plus I had acrylic. Second, I payed for shellac which was a $10 extra charge for my shellac to be peeling off. Not chipping but literally peeling off. Never had this problem with Shellac before and Ive been getting it for a good 3 yrs now. Chose to come here cause my original shop Classys my nail techs Tammy and John was on vacation and someone mentioned this Pleasant Nail place. Will not return. Everything was a charge! More than one color $3 extra charge, square with a round shape (so I dont poke my 10 month old) was an extra $2, they dont pass out drinks for service over $25 and every other nail business does. Just a terrible experience. When you mention to this during the process how you want something done they respond dont tell me how to do my job. Renovations was nice but service terrible, quality terrible (for such high priced stuff), workers terrible and rude. Going forward as I just read into more reviews ALOT of people wrote about the same problem with paint chipping for somethings so expensive. Also, I noticed a lot of people who complained about not being offered beverages are black. Care to explain this cause I dont want to make it a racist thing but thats what it seems like it is.

The staff was nice, but the quality of the manicure was poor. I expected them to cut my cuticles back at the start, which was the reason I wanted a professional to do my nails. They didnt do this at any point while I was there. The lack of attention to my cuticles resulted in an awkward growing-out stage at the cuticle only a few days after getting my nails done, which was very disappointing considering they promised the dip I upgraded to would last for three weeks minimum. The paint didnt chip at all, which was great, but it looked much less nice in a short time because of my ugly cuticles.Edit to reply to owner (3/17/19): I wasn’t asked to soak my fingers and my cuticles were never trimmed. I wasn’t asked if I wanted it done for an additional fee, as I would have gladly paid to get it done since I was there to treat myself after a rough week. Regardless, I feel that your reply was rude and I’ve lowered my rating from 2 stars to 1.
