I have had my nails and toes done at this salon for YEARS. They are a family owned business that truly care about their clients. My most recent pedicure was so wonderfully relaxing and lasted amazingly long. My most recent set of acrylic, French manicure nails look so beautifully natural and have lasted over two and a half weeks. I usually ask for Caroline because I enjoy going to the same person every visit, but everyone in this salon is very talented. They know so many of their repeat clients by name. So refreshing. There is a reason I keep coming back year after year. They are a treasured business on the West Side.

I’ve enjoyed my girl time out with one of my friends but recently noticed after we both have had the same service, I’m always charged more. She pointed out as we walked to her car asking me why my service cost me $5 more again? Pricing varies and even though the workers are amazing people, I find it hard to want to go back with overcharging a person for the same service as the next customer. I’d love to give them 5 stars but no one wants to answer why I’m being charged more for the same service my friend had done sitting next to me. For now, I will leave it at two stars.

The nail tech did a decent job with the shellac change on my toes…there are a few spots where the top coat has flooded my cuticles but not a huge deal. They were able to get me in right away without an appointment and it only took about 35 minutes. Was expecting $25 for the change but was charged $28, I didn’t ask why but I assume automatic gratuity, so just plan in that if you end up going in. Overall, a good experience. I will go again but there are other salons in the area I prefer.

Went here today and had a pedicure done. Service was so amazing and for such a great price. Seriously was so happy with my Experience.Thank you so much.

Shellac came out well, and super quick. Not bad for $20. Very friendly staff. Only complaint is that it’s a little dirty. Like the tables hadn’t been wiped down in a while, dust and dirt on the floor. I’d go back for sure, but that was definitely noticeable!

I got beautiful nails done and the staff was pleasant and kind, they tolerate children well.

My nails turned out beautifully, and the price was good for an acrylic full. However, she was a bit rough w me and nicked/sliced me a few times with her tools. Like I said they are beautiful, just a bit rough lol maybe I’m too sensitive

Paid $180, for two acrylic sets & two basic pedicures. My nails began lifting after only a few days. One popped completely off even. Several nails are crooked, now that they are growing a bit and the cuticle work is awful. Structurally, there isnt much to the nail; no c curve and flat. Im assuming this is why they are lifting and popping so easily. The design is beautiful and Ive got many compliments.I am a self taught nail artist myself and have been practicing for about 10 years. I set this appointment, to treat myself & my daughter, and get a break from doing my own nails.The massage with the pedicure was nice and my feet felt soft afterwards, but there was no top coat so they started chipping immediately.I also watched them take the dirty slippers from my pedicure and put them BACK in the drawer to use on another client. What?!Yes, I had the first lifted nail fixed free of charge. However, later that evening, it lifted right back up & another one popped off.My lifted nail was filled with glue, filed down and some acrylic was added. I could have done that at home!Overall, I am not a happy client. I would request a refund, if I thought it was a possibility. I will not recommend. Initially I was satisfied, but I quickly learned that this salon is not the one anymore....sadly 😢

They dont listen to how you want your nails. Maybe it was just me but in my 22 years of getting my nails done this was the absolute worst place ever. I ended up leaving with nothing an had to pay twice as much somewhere else to have them remove the mess they made an redo my nails. Pictures are of how i left AJ Nails

I got to this nail salon every two weeks faithfully for the last 6 months. And I love it. They take their time on my nails and my feet. And I love that I can bring in any nail design and they will try their best to accommodate the design ... I will never go anywhere else again.

Nina gave me a fill on acrylic nails this morning and I asked for a daisy design on each of my ring fingers. Not only did she make four of my nails bleed, but the design was awful. The petals were smudged together and she put a weird silver line on them, too. The silver was chunky and peeled off right away. Not worth $40 for a fill with a bad design and bloody fingers. Very disappointed because I used to be a regular before the pandemic.

I have been going here for years. And I I love it. They are so nice they remember what u like and dont like. They also remember ur name if u choose to tell them. Best nail place ever.

AJ Nails is truly a wonderful place to relax and get all your nails pretty! All brothers and sisters, and their best friend treat me with kindness and are so friendly...already know me by first name. I feel safe there, it’s very clean and I know I will love my nails.

A decent place for a dip manicure, but not worth $40. The nail tech made me bleed from filing so hard and the edges of my nails have felt sore and painful. Employees were also not wearing masks in the store which is really unprofessional. I wont be returning.

Ive been using A&J Nail Care for 20+ years and they have always been amazing!! Friendly, professional staff, the salon is always clean and even though they have had to increase prices to off-set being closed due to Covid, its still well-worth it.

Will never go there again. The first time I went I got a shellac manicure and it started to chip within 1 day. I wanted to give it one more try and got dip nails the next time. It started to chip within 3 days!!! Dip should stay on for 3 weeks, not 3 days. Not worth the money at all. Extremely disappointing.

I went in to get acrylics and started to peel right after and they drilled my fingers and made me bleed and didnt even care, they had a bad attitude. Bad service and quality. 50 dollars wasted

When putting on my acrylic nails he cut my fingers while using the file, until I was bleeding. Also asked for a design and when it wasnt working for the size of my nail, asked to change it and it was just not a good result.

Marvelous crew! Ive been going there for 5 years. They take of shellac without the use of a rotary tool, so my nails incur less damage. Manicures to perfection always. Perfect eyebrows done every time. Id give more than 5 stars if I could.

Tina. Hands down is the best ever. I received service from her the first time I started going back here. I used to go here when I was in high school. Friendly staff and very welcoming. They always offer you beverages most shops don’t. I’ve never left there not satisfied. I won’t allow anyone else to do my eyebrows but Tina. I recently moved out of state. When I came back to Grand Rapids I went straight to see her.

Best nail shop in grand rapids, moved here from chicago so i was searching for a min. Also great waxing too!

The facility is clean and the staff is friendly, but I will not return.I had an appointment and they continued to take walk ins before seating me. I waited 20 minutes past my appointment time to get into a chair.Also, they use shellac to top the dip nails which is not correct. A few days after getting my nails done the shellac topper was already peeling off, rightfully so because it is not meant to be paired with the dip products. The nail technicians should know this is not the correct way to do dip nail. I am now going to a new salon to get the top coat corrected.

This is the worst nail salon I have ever been to. They are always so sloppy and do not even care they are nails look terrible. I thought maybe it was a one time thing... but I tried it again and the same thing happened. 5-6 of my friends used to go there and they did the same thing to their names and now NONE of us go. DO NOT GO HERE!

Always in a hurry. Dont ask what you want and just do. They work like they are a machine. Have had good experiences here before but the last couple of times it has been bad. Wont go back.

No appointment. Walked in, waited 10 minutes. Full set. No nicks, gouges or hurt hands. Asked to cut down 3x, happily accommodating. Clean and professional set up and service. Will go back.

Nina did a wonderful job on my full set. I was hesitant on going back there after my first experience there, because the guy doing my nails SLICED my cuticles on 2 fingers. It hurt so bad, i didnt want him to finish. But i took a chance and when i went back, it was a completely different experience.

I don’t get my nails done often, but that was one of the worse experiences. It was rushed and they cut my hand too. They didn’t even ask me what I wanted done. Gave me the most expensive thing without letting me know. Never going back.

They are way too expensive for the rushed job they did. They only did two coats of a very light color and smudged my nail in the process. They got it on my skin and cut my friends hand. 65$ for a mani pedi is too much for the rushed poor job.
