Had to take two dogs in to get checked out and they were very nice people. They explained everything and answered all the questions with great knowledge and clarity. You could tell they loved there job.. I even received a card in the mail a week later hoping that the pups were doing well. My doctor doesnt even do that for me. Best experience at a vet thus far. 11/10
I am so impressed with Veturgency! I booked a same day appointment due to extremely long wait times at every vet between Frederick and Hagerstown and wasnt sure what to expect. As other reviewers have said, there was a bit of a wait. But that is the nature of emergency medical care! The staff is top notch. The receptionist was very responsive, informative, and friendly on the phone and in person. The vet tech and doctor were both extremely compassionate towards my anxious dog, and empathetic towards me, the frantic owner. They gave me lots of options and worked with me to determine my needs, and the visit summary they provided was very thorough and the tech took the time to explain it all to me and answer my questions. I cant recommend them highly enough.
My cat was gravely ill. My Vet said they had no appointments available for a few days. I was told to go to an emergency vet right away. I called this provider and made an appointment. I was treated with respect by the staff and the Doctor at Vet Urgency. I had no wait time. My poor cat crossed over this day. I received a sympathy card from Vet Urgency which touched my heart.
The girl at the front desk tonight was extremely rude. I was scheduling an appt online and saw one was open at 9pm, then it changed to 10:30. I arrived at 8pm, after driving an hour, and upon arrival she mentioned “we’re at capacity”.... there was LITERALLY no one in the parking lot or in their office. She also tried to tell me I didn’t have an appt, when it was confirmed. Lol, seems like they’ll try anything to leave early when their hours say they’re open until midnight
I recently took my dogs to this facility and after speaking with the receptionist who was less than friendly sat in my car for two hours. There was one other patient in front of us and no one in the lobby. It took two additional hours to “ process” my dogs and an additional hour to be seen and treated. I waited 40 minutes to check out. During this time one other pet came in. The phone rang one time. There was no good reason was with the staff they had to take this long. It did become apparent there was one Vet working. If you go to “ urgent” care with your pet it is because there is a sense of urgency. There did not seem to be be that level of care or professionalism.
Very impressed! There was a long wait, but understandable. This is an emergency practice, and severity of need is primary. The interview by the RVT was thorough, thoughtful and clearly from a highly skilled Tech. The vet was kind and insightful- great combination, very understanding. I have new meds for an old, sick dog, and would not hesitate to return and recommend to others!
Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Everyone seemed very knowledgeable. The veg (Dr. Brommer?) was great at explaining everything and never made me feel rushed. Received a followup call the next day to check on my pup and also a get well card for her. So sweet!
The staff is friendly, however they are slow and push for the most expensive procedures. I waited for hours unnecessarily listening to them chat away in other rooms. First and last time I come here.
Very knowledgeable staff and friendly. Our German shepherd Chloe got into the trash. We called VRA and Blue Pearl. BP was rude and VRA had a 5 hour wait. We got an appt at 10pm, in by 11pm. Waiting on Chloe now. Price is average: exam, xrays, and medicine for a 100lb dog came out to $850. Luckily we have Healthy Paws Insurance so 80% will be reimbursed. Highly recommended!!
Overall I was impressed with VetUrgency. My dog needed stitches and my normal vet was closed for the Holidays. VetUrgency took care of my pup.PROS: very friendly vet techs and doctors. Showed so much love to my hurting pup! Cost was discussed upfront before any action was taken. Dr. Matt was very thorough with explaining procedures and showed pictures of the injuries. Very clean facility (when I walked in, they were mopping main floor and floor of a room a patient was just in). Faxed all paperwork + pictures to our local vet. Convenient hours. Beautiful office.CONS: $95 just for an exam. Also, I experienced a long wait time. Over an hour to be seen by the vet (though they did say they were busy when I walked in). That is a long time for a dog to patiently sit in a room at the vet.Ill definitely bring my dogs back here if there is an emergency and my vet isnt open. Despite the long wait time, I would recommend!
I have never had a good experience at an emergency vet UNTIL i found this place! The staff is very compassionate, efficient, and knowledgeable. I honestly have nothing but praise for this emergency clinic. So, if youre wondering where to take your pet, i promise that this is the place to go. The picture is a side by side of right before veturgency and the day after our visit: a much happier pitbull :)
I cant be more thankful for the Staff at VetUrgency on the evening of 03/07/21. Due to Covid19 we couldnt be inside with our golden retriever puppy but they made us feel like he is in the best hands. I really appreciate their nice words and their perfect care! As a first time puppy owner youre terrified when your pet does not feel good and you dont know how to help him but Juli and Stacy reassured us that were doing a great Job. Well definitely come back if we have to (* fingers crossed * that we wont )THANK YOU!
Extremely five stars! Had to take the family dog (Tucker) in for lameness in the back legs. Staff was super and compassionate. Dr. was great and very informative. Only able to go into front lobby area but very clean! Would definitely recommend to anybody this place. Prices were not that bad compared to other Emergency vet hospitals! The main thing I would say thanks thanks thanks. Going home feeling like there is hope and Also we were not just another number.! Thank you again Veturgency and Dr Rosalind
So grateful VetUrgency is here in Frederick! They were efficient and kind when helping me and my dog. All of the staff, especially Ann, were sympathetic and knowledgeable and I felt that they loved my boy as one of their own! Such a better experience than going to the Emergency Room. Thank you to the doctors and staff for helping us!
We had to put my mom’s dog to sleep and the staff were very kind, compassionate, and professional. They got us in there promptly and made the process pretty smoothly under the circumstances. The doctor and support staff were excellent.
Friendly compassionate staff here. Wish they could be my normal vet. Caitlin, Sharon and Matt Benedick DVM are superb!Realize now he does practice at Kingsbrook where we normally go.
I highly recommend Vet Urgency to anyone wanting top notch care for their pet. I brought my dog Piper late in the evening after she had been vomiting/diarrhea and refusing water and food for the previous 2 days. I was worried she was dehydrated and my primary veterinary was closed. Because of Covid I wasn’t able to go in with her but I felt comfortable she was in good hands because of how sweet the girls I spoke with on the phone were and how wonderful and reassuring the Vet tech who took her back was. Dr. Matthew Benedick was exceptional! He took so much time thoroughly explaining Pipers condition and the treatment he felt was best to get her better. He was very upfront about pricing and emailed an exact rundown of which treatments were recommended. When Piper was returned to us she looked so much happier and less lethargic. Because of our visit at Vet Urgency we discovered Piper had pancreatitis and were able to follow up with our primary care vet to get her the treatment she needed. She is doing so much better now and to top it all off we received a personal get well card from the staff signed by everyone. I thought that was such an amazing, thoughtful addition and really appreciated it. Thank you Dr. Benedick and staff at Vet Urgency!
The care and staff at the facility were top notch. I had to make the very difficult decision to humanely euthanize my dog over the weekend and this facility was able to handle the situation with all the compassion and professionalism that one would expect. When I paid the bill, I didn’t even bother to look at it and left. They took it upon themselves to call me and let me know that I was overcharged and they processed a refund right away. I probably would have never noticed.Highly recommended for your urgent care needs. Thank You VetUrgency!
A lot of people would probably take more than a few stars off for the wait time. I waited in total almost 5hrs (with an appointment); however, their service more than makes up that negative. They called me every step of the way & were very kind and caring. They run down the cost of everything before you give them the go ahead & when I looked at the itemized receipt, nothing struck me as unreasonable. They did a great job & really struck me as a caring practice. I will definitely be back, if ever another emergency happens to arise. Despite the long wait their service was top notch.
Once again we were faced with having to take our chronically ill beloved dog for care after normal business hours. After 2 horrific experiences at the local emergency vet we knew we needed another option. We had made a plan with our primary vet that next time we needed care for Izzy after hours if VetUrgency was open, we would go there for evaluation. So Monday night when our little girl was clearly not herself and struggling we went online, preregistered and we given an appointment. The appointment was about 15 minutes after i requested it, just about the time it took us to drive there. We checked in and were taken right to a room. From beginning to end we felt that our concerns were heard and addressed. Dr. Benedick and his tech were kind and gentle with our little old girl. Dr. Benedick spent a great deal of time and attention to trying to solve the mystery of what was wrong with her. He made recommendations but also heard my concerns and was willing to adjust and work with us. In the end we came up with the best possible plan for a complicated case.No it’s not cheap, but what veterinary care is? And you get what you pay for.I hope to not have to go back anytime soon, but grateful that there is another option in Frederick. I know this won’t be the last time we need their care and services. I just wish they were open 24 hours so I didn’t have to worry after midnight and they could offer overnight intensive care.
I’ve been to this clinic now twice- a few months ago with Dr. Benedick, and today with Dr. Fedje. Both experiences were wonderful. The appointment booking/walk-in process is simple, clinic is spotless, and the techs/front staff are all very friendly and helpful. With both doctors, Ziggy received prompt care, all procedures/medications/follow-up, etc., was explained very clearly, and they were both very friendly and personable. Dr. Fedje also took a few extra minutes tonight to explain other treatment options for an unrelated issue. Ziggy even received a get-well card in the mail. 10/10 would recommend.
I would recommend VetUrgency to anyone! I had such a positive experience after taking my newly adopted kitten there because of an abscess that had formed two months after she had been spayed. All of the staff were so professional and kind. Dr. Benedick was very straightforward and clear. They are very upfront with the procedure and cost, which seemed very reasonable for emergency care. Thank you all so much!
I would highly recommend this vet clinic. I took my 17 year old cat here because she was not eating and barely drinking any water, and I knew it was time. She was suffering. They were so kind here, they explained what would be done and took her for a few minutes. They came back in and told me she had already passed in my arms on the way there. So sad, but they were compassionate and told me of different options for ashes etc... A few days later, I got a card in the mail from the entire staff expressing their condolences. I feel they went above and beyond and would choose them again if needed. My pretty Girly is resting in peace now.
This place was referred to me by a friend and I am beyond thankful that she did. They took such care with my sick dog and took their time explaining everything to me. My dogs own vet was unable to see him during covid-19 because he was so anxious he was biting during the evaluation. The staff here took their time and had no issues with him biting, I was so relieved. Knowing that your dog is not under stress when at the vet is so important. Thank you to all of the staff at veturgency!
This place is absolutely amazing. Dr. Benedick is so comforting, very knowledgeable, and truly made me feel at ease in a very scary situation with my dog. The staff is warm and kind and the facility is just beautiful. So grateful for the wonderful care and to have a place like this in town for emergencies!
If you need a great after hours vet when it’s not an emergency but something you’d rather get treated ASAP this place is GREAT! The staff is wonderful. And you easily make an actual appointment on line rather than spend hours waiting in an emergency clinic. The $$$ Are reasonable and a much better experience for your pet than hours in Emergency clinic. Highly recommended should you need their services.
Horrible experience and I will never take a animal here. Totally didn’t care about my sick dog because it is getting closer to closing time (11/2 hrs) thank you for not taking my money!!! I’ll find somewhere that cares about animals well being
They were wonderful took my dog and was seen right away. They are great in handling my sweet baby. Thank you and the price is reasonable.
I needed urgent medical care for a very young kitten my husband rescued from the road and had heard good things about VetUrgency. Unfortunately the kitten didn’t make it but the staff and doctor were honest and compassionate and talked me through the situation and options. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back with any of my animals.
When he walked into that place everything is amazing from the front desk Receptionist to the techs and especially the vet Theyre so welcoming and truly caring I have never been to a nicer place and looking at the staff you could tell that the owners not only take pride in their establishment but there employees alsoI will always trust my little baby girl in their hands
The place looks nice inside, but we didnt get to go in because of COVID-19.Our dog gets frequent UTIs. Normal vet wasnt open on Sunday but using the online booking system, these folks were able to see us within 20 minutes! Everyone was professional, wore proper PPE, and shared estimates ahead of time (total was exact).Doctor called us to explain what she was seeing and planned treatment plan. All things considered, was pretty fast and probably the smoothest UTI experience weve had to deal with. Glad to know theres a trusted Urgent Vet locally!!
My 6 year old Yorkie had what appeared to be a seizure. I called and spoke with them over the phone. They were very compassionate and caring. They explained what to do and really reassured me. I highly recommend them if you have an emergency
Amazing and compassionate staff! We had to put our elderly dog down so he wasnt suffering anymore and it couldnt have gone any better considering the circumstances. They were highly recommended by a vet in Urbana and were so thankful for the way everything transpired during this difficult time.
My family has a very high energy dog that decided the grass was greener on the other side of road...and was hit by a car trying to get there. We took him to VetUrgency where they stabilized him and helped us find a surgeon in the area. The staff was wonderful and extremely comforting, in our time of stress.I would certainly go back and encourage anyone else to use this place.
Very professional and caring staff. Was seen very quickly. Would not hesitate to use again.
I originally came here back in October 2018 for my cat who’s health was rapidly deteriorating due to congestive heart failure. Unfortunately, we had to put him to sleep that night. The staff at VetUrgency were so kind and comforting and made that rough experience so much easier for me and my family. This evening, I brought my two month old kitten in for an appointment (chronic diarrhea) and again, was so impressed by the kindness and professionalism of the staff. I wanted to take the time to write this review because a place like this deserves to be recognized. If you’re looking for a good vet urgent care/animal hospital, don’t hesitate to come here - you won’t regret it!
I took my dog to VetUrgency to get help because of an infection from a procedure at another veterinary office. I found the staff unhelpful and demeaning. They made me feel absolutely terrible and all I had done was get my dog neutered. I cried after the vet yelled at me and stormed out of the room. It was insane. The vet said she used to work at that clinic and that what they did was wrong and that’s why she yelled at me. I still don’t understand it. Her behavior towards me was unacceptable. They didn’t try to help. I will never forget how they made me feel as my dog was sitting there in pain and fighting for his life. I will never return here.UPDATE: I was very satisfied with the follow up from VetUrgency. I was advised this vet was filling in for another vet and they have dealt with the issue. I appreciate their quick response and am confident that if I should need their services again I would have a much better experience. Thank you, Faith
It was a very scary, teary, and trying time for me and my beloved Sam. The entire staff were helpful and knowledgeable on both visits and numerous calls. In addition they forwarded results to me, Sams primary vet, and BVH. Thankfully Sam is still with me, happy and healthy
Dr. Rachel Fedje and Vet Tech Ann were amazing! Our Great Dane received amazing care and although expensive, not nearly as expensive as the other emergency vet in Frederick. Love this place!
Very attentive and personable staff. Care was immediate and thorough. Highly recommend for emergency pet needs.
Went in with my Frug (frenchie/pug) thinking she was having a stroke. As soon as I walked in the door they calmed my nerves then helped calm Lolas. It was the scariest nights Ive had in a long time and they made me feel much better. Staff are very friendly, office is super clean, and I had no wait time. They even sent a get well soon card to our house which was that little extra. 5 starts indeed
We brought our sweet black lab in for some gastrointestinal issues on a Sunday morning. The clinic was extremely clean and well maintained, there was zero wait, the staff was extrmely friendly and knowledgeable, they didn’t push any unnecessary interventions, and the price was very reasonable.
Our dog took a turn for the worst before we could get him to his evening appt. We had to go to Veturgency to seek help ASAP. The staff acted quickly but calmly from the front door to the back office. They cared for my pup like he was theirs until he took his last breath. I could not have asked for a better team of ppl to have experienced that nightmare with. The vet took a knee in our room through the entire process to explain to us what was going on the entire way, he was beyond terrific and knowledgeable. The RVs gave us all the time we needed and loved on my pup as if they felt my families pain. The crew working tonight is in the career field they belong in. Selflessness, patience, kind hearted group of people. 5 stars and then some! “Thank you” will never be enough .... thanks for caring for our Diesel dog.
Last August we had the misfortunate event in having our dog bitten by another dog. Huge kudos to the neighbors that jumped in to help console my children, brang us towels and made sure we got to where we needed to go. The main point of my post though is I want give a huge shout out to VetUrgency on Prospect Blvd here in Frederick. They were quick, clean and effecient. Not only did they help calm my children by reassuring them all would be okay, they took EXCELLENT care of our Max! Max is home and recovering and doing well, aside from being quite shaken up from this. Thanks again VetUrgency for being there for us! ❤❤
