Always a great experience with Nick. He’s my go to!

I normal don’t write reviews but because of incident that happen I was lead to make others aware of this nail shops discriminatory practices. I went in the shop to get a manicure. I have been to this shop a total of three times. The very first time I received a manicure in which the young lady, Meme did a great job. She even helped me pick out my color and did a nice design for me. The next time I received the same service no problem. However, my third time going there I decided to get a pedicure and only get my fingernails painted. I noticed when I left the shop there were some spots on my nails that the technician Meme missed so I went back in and she fixed them with no problem. I called on a Sunday to see if Meme was there and the owner Nick said she wasn’t but I decided to go into the shop as a walk-in. I walked in and was greeted by Nick who told me to wash my hands, in which I did. I then sat down and Nick came over to me and said, “sorry we can not service you.” In complete shock and me not understanding what he is saying I asked what do you mean you can’t service me? He replied, “Meme called and said not to service you because you were too demanding.” I replied that’s funny because Meme never said anything to me and we had great conversation. The owner replied, “she (Meme wasn’t comfortable with telling you, so she wanted me to say something.” I found that to be odd because Meme actually said, “I will see you in three weeks.”If this was the case why was she so comfortable in sharing information about her other job and her family. Why would she always encourage me to get my eyebrows done or a design? She always picked my color out for me because she knew I would pick something basic.in which she works for the state, and she only works at the shop on the weekends.I have never in my history of going to nail shops or any establishments for that matter been asked to leave. I feel like this was very unprofessional and discriminatory. It’s sad because black women are mainly the ones that support these Asian salons and get treated with the most disrespect.The owner clearly doesn’t know how to run a business. Maybe some courses in business etiquette, professionalism, effective communication, and cultural competence would help.

Highly recommend: kimmy did my feet and nick did my nails and OH MY GOD! Amazing! So worth the money and time. Nick took his time on my hands like no one ever has and even took the time to find the color green I wanted. Kimmy took her absolute time with my toes and even painted them the same color as my nails. I absolutely recommend here! You cant find patience and quality anywhere else! Will be my new regular spot. Thank you guys again for making my bad week so much better ❤❤

The wait was a little long but I had no appointment. My nails came out beautiful and they did exactly what I asked for, shape and color/ design.

Jenny was absolutely amazing! My nails look exactly like the reference picture. We also had an amazing conversation and she’s very personable. Her nail art is soooo amazing and she’s so talented.

Inefficient system for walk ins. Tried walking in twice with one time calling ahead and getting impolite and inaccurate estimates for wait times. Save your energy and go somewhere with a better system.

I have had a good experience each time Ive come here! The staff are friendly and have ensured I have been satisfied before leaving. I often get my nails and eyebrows done and the wait time is not too long and prices are worth it for the service.

My gel polish has bubbles in them and the sides of the nails are terrible. The older lady did my feet slow. I asked for gel they gave me regular polish. I tried to go back for them to fix their mistakes but he wanted to charge me and felt that it was wrong. I’d rather pay another nail salon to fix their mistakes so won’t put any more money into this business. First and last time there!

Great customer service from Nick. I was a first time customer and new to the area. He catered to me and gave me exactly what I wanted. Ill definitely be traveling an hour and a half every time for that A1 service!

I set an appointment for 2pm a week in advance. I entered the spa and was greeted by a male. I noticed atleast two other ppl waiting to be serviced. He asked me what I was getting done and I told him I have an appointment and gave him my name. He asked what I was getting done, told me to wash my hands and sit down. I arrived at 1:58pm, so I sat until about 2:25pm. I’m very big on punctuality. If I wanted to wait I wouldn’t have made an appointment a week in advance. Not to mention the two girls that were there before me, got in a chair before me. The only pleasant experience I had was with a staff member by the name of Qeenie I think. As soon as i was getting up to leave she told me she was ready for me. She apologized after she figured out I had an appointment. She was very nice and welcoming.I wouldn’t recommend this business if you’re like me punctual and don’t like your time disrespected then you might wanna try this place in chapel hill. If you don’t mind being overlooked and waiting after you’ve made an appointment, you won’t regret the service..that’s about all I can say.

I’ve lived in the Triangle for almost 10 years and tried many different salons in Raleigh, Durham, and CH. Marvelous is the best place to go! They do a great job with all of their services. They’re quick but still thorough and I always get compliments when I get my nails done here. Definitely give them a try!

I have been getting a pedicure and fill-in at Marvelous Nail Spa for the last 2 months, and I leave so happy every single time. Friendly and welcoming staff that go out of their way to do exactly as you asked. The nail salon is always clean, taken care of, and a relaxing place to pamper yourself. Come here and you wont be disappointed! The best in the area for sure.

Favorite nail spa in Durham! They always do a great job!

First time customer! I had an amazing $55 spa pedicure. Lots of lotions, fresh oranges uses on feet/legs, heat on neck, parrafin wax, and a lot of massaging!It was great!!!I would have given 5 stars, except for the $20 extra for gel polish. I travel for work and have been all over to many different high end salons, this one was the highest I have ever paid for gel polish!A good experience overall.

This place was amazing the first time I went. Recently I went to get my girlfriends eyebrows done and they completely messed up her eyebrows. It was a different person from the first time we went (picture is from the first time we went).

They OVER charge for everything! They charge $7 to scrub the bottom of ur feet which I thought was part of the pedicure! Never again! I’ll do my own feet first!

I just recently moved downtown and was in search of a new nail salon. I was a little nervous to try out new places as I absolutely loved my previous nail tech. I tried out Marvelous Nails Spa as its within walking distance from my apartment, And It just happened to be my lucky day to have my nail tech. I have been going to her since! She is amazing. You can really tell she takes pride in her work,and always wants me to leave happy. I will definitely be telling everyone I know about this place

If you just want a basic manicure, this is the place for you. However, if you want more modern styles, find somewhere else. Left nail polish still around the corners of some fingers, and polish missing on other nails. The two stars is for the good job they did on my gel pedicure

I love the way my nails turned out! Best price for quality of service by far! Definitely going to book an appointment next time, and recommend doing the same. Their prices are clearly posted throughout the salon so there is no surprise in the cost of services. This is awesome. I definitely recommend!

My nail tech Linda is the best! I love her work and personality... Actually everyone in there is really friendly. The atmosphere is calm and clean. They take their time and are very precise but still have you out in a timely manner. I HIGHLY recommend this place.

THE BEST!!! Id definitely rather pay for quality than pay less for junky nails. However, prices are totally affordable and the people here are the bomb! They talk to you like theyve known you for ages. Super sweet staff. My second visit here and I love them. Linda and Jenny are absolutely my faves, but my mom loves Nick as well. So thats 3 out of however many staff they have, so Im assuming that theyre all pretty great. Id still request Linda and Jenny though! Ive gotten a pedicure and gel polish on my natural nails! Definitely check this place out! You wont regret. :)

Nick was so friendly and easy to talk to, great customer service and care. My nail turned out prefect. He asked what type of work I did so he could create the best nail style for me. He made my nails thicker because I carry mail. Lovely place. Clean and quiet. I would highly recommended. I drove 20 mins just because of the reviews Ive read. My new favorite nail salon. I havent found anyone to do my nails like he did since Ive moved to Durham.

Ive been to this salon twice now for a pedicure and both times Ive been blown away! Ive driven by the outside about a million times and Im so mad that I only recently discovered what a gem this place is.The inside is spacious and immaculate. Its nice and bright, but still calming. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, and their work is amazing. Seriously, the best attention to detail start to finish!Im so happy I found it!

Today was my first time ever going to the nail shop. I had almost gone to the nail shop down the street and boy am I glad that I didnt. Today I got my nails done by Nick, and I have to say they are the best nails I have ever had done. I showed him a picture of an idea of what I wanted done for my nails and he told me to trust him he would do an amazing job. When my nails are finish I couldnt believe how good they looked. He asked me if it was okay to get a little creative and I am so glad that I allowed him to. I will definitely go back every time I want to get my nails done and I will only allow Nick to do so.

I typically do not write reviews for places. However, I went out to have my nails done for prom this evening. I had them done by Nick and I absolutely adored the outcome. He was extremely friendly and leniant with me considering I rarely get my nails done, so I didnt know what to expect with these acrylics. While they werent very talkative, my nails came out great. He is very talented. I will be returning and Ill let any friends and/or family know about the excellent experience I had!

Waaaayyyy over priced. Mine and my daughter’s 3rd time there. 2 Jelly pedicures a full acrylic set and a full dip. $242...no bull. I don’t know how, or why their prices have increased. $20 for gel polish in addition to your service. Two hundred and forty two dollars. One visit. Never seen anything like this in my life.Tech I had was nice enough, left me with 2 nicked fingers from aggressive filing and one nicked toe.They got me this time, but never again.

The cleanest salon I have ever been to! Massage chair for pedicure was wonderful. Acrylic nails well done.I will definitely come back here where the wait time is less and the staff very friendly and customer oriented!

9/19/2019- I was looking for a new nail salon to go to that had at least 4 star ratings and I found the right one. I was greeted and seated promptly (I arrived on a Thursday around 530pm) and was asked if I wanted any beverages. I got a gel manicure ($35 at the time) and the lady was SO gentle with my hands. Although my beds were a little sore from the cuticle removing part, it was worth it because they look great and free of hangnails. If u do manual labor of some kind(nurse/doctor, housekeeper) or work with chemicals, I recommend going here for a manicure to start off your hand moisturizing treatment !

Great place. I stumbled upon this place on my way to gym. Nowhere else can help me rid of it but this place. And they did such a good job at it and didnt even take long. Clean and fee reasonable.

Definitely not the same since Jade and her husband were there as they were trustworthy!! The new owners lead you to believe the services will be one price, but charge you more in the end. I asked repeatedly if there would be an extra charge for certain things and was told, No, you are getting gel. Its fine Once it was time to check out, she and her husband debated on what should be charged (no English spoken), then she charged me almost $20 more than I expected, stating I was told there would be additional charges. I will NOT be going back.

I came in around 11:30 they werent very busy and I got my nails started immediately. I got ombré with sparkles and they look amazing !! they also have reasonable prices and were nice people, would recommend. Ill definitely be going back on a regular basis.I will definitely keep coming back.

Love my nail design and color. Thanks Linda she explained everything step by step so I could understand why she needs to do that. She also recommended me which one looks better. Finally I found Linda and will be back for the new one.

Went for a fill in with gel polish. They were able to get me in and out which was great!!! Buhhhtt.. I came in with a great coffin cut and...I don’t know what this is now.. he also didn’t rub in the oil nor did he provide lotion after, which is what I am used to. Decent job, but I will only return if I am in a bind again.

Awesome experience! Very classy and clean place. We had a little bridal shower there and they set up a little table just for us, gave us our own bottles of wine and a private room. Highly recommend!

She tried but it wasn’t what it should be. I gave this place a chance based on a referral from a friend but it wasn’t worth it. I got my eyebrows and lip waxed and she left cotton on my face with the wax still there. On top of that the room was dim so I couldn’t see what she did until I walked outside in the light. I washed my money. Had to go home and do it over myself. I’d never return. $37 dollars for lip / chin / eyebrows and I still had to go home and finish what she didn’t do correctly. Disappointed. Highly.

I rarely write reviews but I just had to for this place. I went in for a shellac pedicure with technician and she exceeded all my expectations. She checked in with me at every step to make sure everything looked perfect.

Sam was very friendly he did a great pedicure and manicure! This place is owned and operated by family and trusted staff. They have a wide variety of services for your hands and feet. They also do waxing. They take walk-ins but for the best service call ahead and schedule an appointment. Very modern and clean establishment that smells fresh and clean.

Came in a Sunday no wait. They were able to do my nails in feet in a timely manner. Great prices and very friendly. Definitely will be returning.

I had a mani pedi today and was pretty disappointed in the pedicure I received. The quality of the paint isn’t that great (paint not all over the nail, polish on the skin..) but I wouldn’t have noticed it if the tech hadn’t cut my big toe nail down way too far.. then she started filing my skin. I was trying to pull away because it definitely was painful, but I wasn’t able to really see what had happened until she was done. Now I am home and can’t even wear socks because the rubbing is painful.Now, with that being said the general process of the pedicure was nice, and I am pleased with my manicure. Cutting the nail too short it something than can’t be undone, and mistakes happen.. but I’m not sure if I will return. I was getting my nails done for a weekend getaway and now It’s uncomfortable to wear shoes! :(

Ive been going to Jade for my eyebrows since 1998. For the past couple months Ive been driving 3.5hrs for her to wax my eyebrows. I think yesterday was my last day. She does a really great job but I was not happy at all yesterday. Looks like I have two completely different eyebrows...🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

So, I got my nails done at Marvelous Spa last Friday, my nail popped off by Thursday of this week. I stopped by to get it fixed because it hasn’t even been two weeks there’s no reason for that to happen, had the appropriate technique been used. I went to go get it done literally 30 minutes after they had opened on a Sunday. He told me it would be an hour, I think it’s quite ridiculous to have to wait an entire hour to fix one broken nail that can be fixed in 5 minutes. He wasn’t very friendly and quite dismissive. When another customer walked in he greeted her far more curtesy than he did me. I will not be returning due to the poor customer service skills this business has towards paying guest as well as women of color. Highly dissatisfied and will be going to other nail places moving forward.

This is my first experience, Im a man, in a nail salon. I was a bit nervous to utilize this type of service, but I wish I wouldve tried this sooner. The owners could tell I was a Newbie and explained each service and what was available to me. My hands and feet felt rejuvenated and soft for weeks.I plan on making a monthly visit to Jenny. Men that work with there hands and/or on their feet for hours would benefit from a good mani/pedi.Marvelous Nails Spa is a judgement free establishment.

Made an appointment for my sister and myself to get pedicures. We showed up on time only to be told that our appointment was 30 mins earlier. Apparently whoever we spoke to on the phone put the wrong time down. We had asked for hot stone pedicures but only received the basic pedicures (maybe because we were late). It didnt matter though because they were the best pedicures wed ever gotten. The place is VERY clean and so nice on the inside. You can tell they have pride in their establishment. There are two rooms for pedicures and a large room for manicures. Both of our technicians were super friendly and the rest of the staff were nice as well. We will definitely be coming back. If their basic pedicures are so great then we can only imagine what the hot stone would be like.

I went in for a Fill and repair, Stacy took care of my nails and did a great job! I have had so many bad experiences in this area of Durham it was a relief to finally get quality work and in a relaxing atmosphere! I will definitely be going back!

Where do I start... Great location (right by Roses in the shopping center). I got the #3 pedicure. Knowing what I know now, I would have gone for the #4. Facility was clean but the service was too speedy. THE MANAGER EVEN ANSWERED A CALL DURING MY WIFES PEDI! Would I go back? No. Was it a poor experience? No. Middle of the road. Solid 3 stars.

Went here for the first time tonight and had an awesome experience! They have a fantastic and comprehensive nail color selection of OPI, Essie, and gel colors. It is super clean inside and the people are 100% professional and super kind. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great nail salon in South Durham!

They did my nails really well! I would not recommend their eyebrow wax though. Came home and I still had lots of stray hairs and it didn’t look like I had my brows done at all.

Did a dipped set and after 3 days one of the nails broke. Went back to have the nail fixed and ended up waiting an hour before I had to leave, with the nail unfixed. They started working on other full set walk ins who came in 15 minutes after me. Then when I asked how long the wait was (after already waiting an hour) I was told there was no one who could fix it right now. Poor quality dipped set and poor service.

My daughters full set was perfect for prom. In fact, she will only get her nails done here.I had a pedicure, and, while the quality was great, the guy who performed it talked a lot and was super preachy about what to eat, how to spend money, religious matters, etc. I prefer to relax when I get them done, but I walked out more stressed than I did before I walked in.

Cammie is the best! She takes the time necessary to make sure Im a satisfied customer. She does wonderful work. The owner of the establishment is a gem. The facility is clean and all the technicians pay meticulous attention to sanitation.

I had a Groupon and the staff was more than willing to honor it and take me as a walk-in! Very nice and pleasant, the woman who did my pedicure said her name was Kelli, and she was super sweet and did a great massage and everything! She was thorough and didnt cut corners on anything. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, a great experience.

I get my nails done every 2-3 weeks with a gel manicure. My normal tech was out of town so I decided to try a new place with great reviews, Marvelous Nails. The place seems very clean and seemed friendly enough. However, I am not sure if, because I am not a regular, or if it just so happened, that I got a terrible tech. I have color polish and top coat all over the cuticle, up onto the finger, clear coat under the finger (some how), the nails were so jagged, I had to file them in my car and the application is uneven. It has only been 4 days and the edges are all peeling up and getting caught in my hair and on clothes. I still tipped well because it seemed like he tried but I will not be revisiting.2 stars for cleanliness.

I used to have my nails done at a local competitor. I had two excellent experiences with Marvelous Nails- with Stacy and Mei. I continue to have very nice service. I am a small business owner and know what it takes to build a business. I admire their strategy of building the business using kindness and quality service. Manicure tables are uncomfortable with no cushion. I did a gel polish and its not as shiny as it should be. And the chemical smell of acetone and other, is stronger in this establishment than others that I have been..

Im hesitant to review this place because I dont want word to get out too much but after my 8th or so visit I figured I should say something. I never have to wait here. They do great work. Full service nail and waxing place. Its relaxing and reasonably priced. There are lots of nail places in the area but this is my favorite.

Terrible quality for nails. Service was good, they will communicate with you and they have TVs for you to watch, but the skill set isn’t there. I asked for almond nails and got pointy nails that could almost pierce skin. I wanted a acrylic French tip, I get my nails really long, and idk what she did but I could see my actual nail underneath the French tip if that makes sense. Looked fine from far away, but terrible close up. They broke a couple days later, it seemed like the nail quality that they use for acrylic was super cheap and flimsy. Wouldn’t come here again.

This place has only been open 4 weeks. I went in today...They were all talkative, friendly (and funny!), and most importantly they did a great job on all 3 services I had done (mani/pedi/eyebrow wax). Plus they told me theyre going to have a full bar soon! Their prices are competitive to the area, but the salon is classy and the experience was more pleasant than Ive had anywhere nearby. I highly recommend them and will be going back! If youre in Durham, check them out!

I never write a review. However, my experience today 4/20/17 at Marvelous Nails was horrible. First, I should say I am a repeat customer at Marvelous nails and have never had this sort of treatment. I am very disappointed with the service I received today. The nail technician (today was her first day) was very unprofessional. She trimmed my toenails way too short to the point Im already concerned that my toes will be sore for the next few days. One might say well why didnt you tell her but to be frank I could not see what she was doing while trimming so though they didnt hurt while being trimmed they are likely to be sore afterwards. They were so short she herself commented I trimmed your toenails so short there isnt much left to paint. The other reason today was miserable was due to the inappropriate conversation. This particular technician proceeded to mention exorcisms, religion, and basically a defensive attitude that my work profession (psychiatry) apparently threatened her on some underlying religious level. I would recommend this salon but most definitely not the technician who started on 4/20/17.
