Bad manager strikes again we got an email saying they were staining our patios. Fine by me cause my building I still getting painted. Some buildings started in July. Three months no patio and tripping over your outside chairs LMAOWe are getting lots of roaches with the renovation tho. Called up and you have to schedule the bug man but you pay every month... I have lived at Legacy at Meridian since 2012 as it is a pet friendly quiet community that is affordable and the apartments are spacious with large balconies. No other community compares to Legacy! The community is the staff is friendly and are always willing to assist in times of need. and the residents are friendly people of all ages. The community hosts parties during the summer, Christmas, spring, and is always ensuring to keep the resident happy and engaged. The gym was upgraded with high quality equipment. It takes 5 to 10 minutes tops to get to a Starbucks, Southpoint Mall and 20minutes to Duke.

The apartment complex is mostly quiet (sometimes I hear neighbors music late at night - pretty loud at times). Maintenance has always been friendly and helpful which is a plus. Seems that there is a bug problem - but could be because it is summer and there are renovations going on. While it is a safe community and there are great amenities, I do have mixed feelings at this time.

This apartment community is my absolute favorite in Durham. While conveniently located near major highways and shopping, this community is a small slice of paradise! Beautifully landscaped and offering many amenities to their residents, Legacy at Meridian has created the perfect home setting that makes you feel as if you were on vacation everyday! The management and staff are simply amazing! Their warm and inviting atmosphere reflects that they go above and beyond to offer the best apartment living experience you could wish for! Must see to believe! Pictures cannot express the feeling of peacefulness you have when on this property!

Ive happily lived here for years. Today they forced us into using a 2 star package courier service called Fetch. Look up the reviews on Yelp. As I receive a lot of packages, I expect this to go badly. This is a continuation of disappointing changes that started with the new management.Ill be finding another apartment asap and I suggest you do too.

I really enjoy living at the Legacy. Its clean and well maintained property. Residents and neighbors are friendly and not overly nosey or meddlesome. You see residents out for a nice walk, at the pool reading a book or enjoying the weather or out walking their dogs and really being a part of the community. The property managers really care for all their residents and it shows so much in their communication and responsiveness to resident needs. You will find many luxury apartment complexes here in Durham, but you will find an actual community here at Legacy, dont take my word for it come and become a part of our family and see for yourself!!!

Im happy with the location. While there are always tradeoffs the price, options and locations are very nice. My unit has triple glass sliding doors and the boardwalk glows with the sunlight during general hours as well.Overall the location is great and main office gets packages which helps. Ive never had an issue at the location or with parking. I also have had quick maintenance experience with notes as well. Fun surprise food trucks and other events are always something to look forward to as well.

My experience here has exceeded my expectations and hopes. The apartment was sparkling and looked brand new when I moved in. I was utterly pleased. The staff is kind and warm and goes out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. The grounds are well maintained. I’ve put in a few minor service tickets and they were taken care of that same day. All in all this is a wonderful complex, location and the staff is more than accommodating. I highly recommend moving here as the community is serene and relaxing and overall quiet. A shout out to the staff (Erica, Lane, Thomas, Steve and Jay) for all the kindness, hard work and smiles.

I will start with the positives of this complex. Beautiful property, spacious apartments, quick servicing, activities provided, safe and quiet and friendly office staff. However, I had only been here a few months prior to the pandemic shutdown (March). Which leads me to the cons. I moved in January of 2020. A few months later, the pandemic occurred and everything was shut down. As you all know, that rendered people unable to work and with financial complications. Had there not been measures in place, Im certain Legacy at Meridian would not have implemented anything to help those suffering financially from this pandemic. In accordance with the stay of evictions, Legacy was unable to evict those who did not make rent. They also waived late fees in the beginning. But by the summer, they resumed late fees and required full payments of rent or threatened to evict. Their pandemic response was abysmal. Additionally, they recently offered me to renew at a rate more expensive than what I pay now, WITHOUT any renovations or justifications for rent raises. I am unsure as to why they feel justified increasing rent without making any improvements to the apartments or complex AND during a pandemic but here we are.All in all, if money is of no issue for you and their pandemic response does not concern you, this is a great place to live. Despite the aforementioned cons, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I was unable to get a full experience given the pandemic occurring only months after I moved in, but Im sure the amenities were probably just as great. My time here is up but that is simply because of them raising my rent without adequate justification. The reason I only gave 3 stars is because their pandemic response was distasteful.I just wanted to give a full picture of what to consider when moving here.

July update: Lowered rating to four because Im tired of Monicas attitude anytime I have a concern. Dismissive and defensive oh theyre just doing this... Were in contact with them and we know whats going on... Okay so why is this happening so frequently is it broken? I honestly dont know ... So why are you telling me youre aware of whats going on if youre not? Im not a child, Im a rule abiding tenant who pays to be here and I think that warrants having my concerns addressed or answered with actual information. Tall order, I know.May: 5 stars. My husband and I just moved here and so far we are very pleased with the service and amenities. Im in love with the pool and we both use the gym daily. Beautiful apartments with a pretty view, updated fixtures and high ceilings. These are the best apartments we have lived in, by far.

I’ve been living in this neighborhood for a little over 2 years now and I absolutely love my apartment. The only complaint I have is that a lot of the time there is no where to park. If I’m not home before 6-7ish I will have nowhere to park in front of my building. There have been plenty of times that I have had to park down in front of another building and it can be very annoying, especially after I have just gotten off from a long day at work. That will be pretty much the only reason I will not renew my lease again. But the new staff in the office is AMAZING 😉

I have lived here since September, 2013 and I continue to renew my lease for the following reasons. First and foremost because of Dawud, maintenance engineer, who has gone above and beyond the call of duty more than once. A few years back, one cold and snowy New Yearss eve, our heat went out at 3am. Dawud responded immediately and by 8am New Years morning our heat was back on. More recently, I had some noise disturbance in my ac/water heater closet on Saturday morn 4am. This noise awoke my daughter and myself. I called the office when they opened and was told this was not considered an emergency so Id have to wait until Monday or Tuesday. A few hours later on Saturday Dawud showed up to check on the problem. I am a senior citizen with underlying health issues and a fixed modest income. To have this kind of security for the maintenance of our home is of utmost importance. I also enjoy the ambiance of sweeping landscapes, which attracted me in the first place.I do wish the Lawn Service would not use Roundup and other chemicals to maintain the grounds. Our dog died of cancer after living here a couple of years and I feel sure that was a probable cause as he love the yards and rolled around on them gleefully daily. When they spray Roundup and other products we should be notified but never are. After I complained they did put up flags one time but never took them down and they remained until they rusted and were never put out again. I asked for the name of the product they were using and the label clearly stated that humans and animals should stay off the area for at least 30 minutes and should be notified. This is a wonderful place for pets but a review of products used and safety for our animals would be appreciated. In the meantime I keep our cat indoors although she loves walking on a lease outdoors.I will continue to renew my lease because of the security of knowing my maintenance problems will be taken care of and I do love my home.I am thankful there are people in the world like you, Dawud! 6 stars for you!Caroline Mottinger

I moved into Legacy at the beginning of August and have grown to really love and appreciate the neighborhood. The management team is extremely helpful and attentive. Anytime I have had a maintenance issue, both Tina and Monica were on it and resolved the issue in the matter of hours. Tina even went out of her way to help me after the moving company I hired completely destroyed my bed and it collapsed that same evening I moved in. She contacted one of our neighbors who spent several hours helping me fix the bed and getting everything else in order. Needless to say, the neighbors, the management team and the maintenance team are wonderful. I have lived in some awful apartments and I can honestly say, living at Legacy is like a breath of fresh air. It is quiet, people keep to themselves and while the neighborhood primarily consists of students, there arent wild parties going on, which to me is a definite plus. The grounds are well maintained and the neighborhood itself is secure. Each apartment comes with its own alarm system, which is nice and the closet space is AMAZING. The pool was just renovated as well and although I have not had a chance to actually enjoy it with my workload, I drive by it everyday and it looks great. Needless to say, if youre looking for a nice, quiet and safe place to call home, check Legacy out.

I want to start off by saying these apartments are amazing. I absolutely love my apartment. The issue that I have is I was at the pool with 2 family members, the staff (all of them) all came out to the pool doing their regular checks to make sure that everyone who was in the pool lived there. I’m okay with that. One of the ladies spoke to us and made sure we were having fun. Once we get out the pool and leaving she walks fast up behind us and to ask do I live out there and what is my apartment number (remind you she spoke to us while we were in the pool)....and I am in the office at least 2-3 times a week getting packages, and she has directly handed my my package numerous times so there’s no way she didn’t remember me. I felt very embarrassed because she didn’t do that to any one else at the pool (we were the only African Americans in the pool). Now all of a sudden I’m getting other complaints about absolutely nothing. I should have moved to Arboretum at Southpoint like I was going to. Once my lease is up I will be moving. ***If you are a young African American please do not move out here.

This is the best complex I have ever lived in! I have lived here over a year now and I absolutely recommend this place to anyone. A beautiful space inside, with a stunningly peaceful and wooded surround. Safety was important to me in moving to a new home, and this spot is perfect. It is so comfortable, quiet, and just lovely, and has easy access to everything I love. Within ten minutes you can reach Target, the Southpoint mall, several grocery stores and gas stations. In 15-20 minutes you can reach the Chapel Hill/UNC area or downtown Durham/Duke! The staff here is so personable and friendly and the resources (like the pool :) ) are great! Everything is well kept and there is even a several mile walking trail nearby. I would recommend Legacy at Meridian over and over again!

Having lived at Legacy at Meridian for 18 months, I have had an exceptional experience. I chose the complex because of the decent rates for the area as well as proximity to my workplace and living here has exceeded expectations. The management and maintenance staff are very professional, personable, and proactive. The facilities are clean, modern, and reliable. Neighbors are friendly and diverse (mix of singles, couples, roommates, and families) and the complex is quiet at night. Amenities are great (clubhouse, fitness room, social events on a regular basis). Location-wise, I-40 is a minute away, Southpoint is 5 minutes, downtown Durham is less than 15 and Raleigh is 20. I highly recommend the complex and look forward to staying here as long as I can.

These apartments are disgusting and the fact they use the word Luxury on their website is a disgrace to any actual Luxury apartments in the area. When I moved in, there was mold in the tub on the caulking around the tub faucet. How hard is it to slap some baking soda and bleach on that? Tina said she personally inspected the apartment, so either her standards are low or she doesnt mind new tenants walking into moldy apartments. The kitchen smelled like cat piss and I spent all weekend trying to get that smell out. The carpet wasnt laid correctly, and now theyre trying to charge me $900 for that. I knew the moment I walked in the apartment I made a huge mistake and I knew moving out they would try to get as much money out of me as they could. Aside from these apartments desperately needing remodels and poor maintenance worksmanship theres tons of crime in the area, i.e. car windows always being busted out and be assured youll find spiders in your apartment every single day despite the bug spraying they do. I thought I was done with Meridian when I got my final bill for $200 but now have a new headache, but honestly despite this at least I dont have to go to work there everyday and lie to people about the quality of the apartment theyre getting. Summary: Keep on driving, get a Bell Properties apartment and dont be fooled about the super upgraded model they show you. They try to nickel and dime you for every single upgrade to their apartment just so they can turn around next year and charge someone else over $1500 a month in rent (for apartments that dont even have a washer and dryer.)Update: The apartment I lived in after L@M charged me $125 (which is consistent for previous apartments Ive lived in with pets and explained to Tina when I received the outrageous move out charges, I have never ever been charged so much money for pet damages and Ive lived in apartments for over a decade) for damages upon move out with visible damage to the carpet rather than the almost $1100 L@M charged me for the smell of the carpet that was so strong we had to replace it with no visible damage or stains so that confirms that L@M was in fact ripping me off in which I knew they would from the first week of living there, hence as to why they lost my move in sheet. Considering there were no damages to the apartment, smell and stains underneath the carpet which were never shown to me was the only thing they could find to charge me for. Word to the wise, dont inform them you are purchasing a home upon move out, as they know you have to keep your credit clean to do so and will slam you with a super high bill they know you have to pay. Dont move in if you have good credit, dont move in if you make any kind of money at all, they see all of this at move in and know exactly what you can and cannot afford to pay upon move out. Dont move in if you have pets, thats an automatic $900 charge because you cant contest what they find after you move out. I cant stress enough how shady this apartment complex is, how you will regret one year of your life moving in here, and I promise you they will find a way to rip you off when you leave.

I lived in 1520 Magnolia for 2 years and I am truly surprised I lasted that long. My apartment and the amenities were excellent and all for a decent price, however the nature of this neighborhood and my experience as a tenant with respects to management were horrendous. For the most part, they were more than pleasant (whenever I went in to pick up packages or attend functions), but some of their behaviors were disgusting.I received complaints about some of the most ridiculous things:1. My car had a window broken into in a different neighborhood. I immediately filed a claim with my insurance department, but after about a week since it wasnt fixed I received a notice that my car would be TOWED because it made people think it was a bad neighborhood EXCUSE ME?! I pay rent here and you want to tow my vehicle? I am the victim here!2. We were asked to move our personal grill and to utilize the ones near the pool. There were at least 3 other tenants, one including the courtesy officer who also had a grill and his was actually CLOSER to the property than ours.3. When we were moving out, there were many trumped up charges in an attempt to get us to pay more than our security deposit.4. We received a letter requesting that we walk our dog in a different area, as somehow they determined that our dogs urine was the reason why the grass was yellowing. Our dog did not use the bathroom in this area. The first year was pleasant; all 4 of these incidents happened over the second years. I have lived in 2 other apartment complexes and have not dealt with any of the things I dealt with here and I was very glad to leave. Maybe the staff has changed since 2013 when I left, but dealing with Tina was an absolute nightmare in my final year.

I rarely write reviews, but I recently realized how difficult it can be to find a new apartment because people rarely leave reviews after positive experiences. I lived in an apartment at Legacy at Meridian for three years while attending law school at Duke and only have positive things to say about my experience. The property is very clean and always felt safe. I found the staff very kind and helpful. Whenever I had a maintenance issue, it was handled within a day or two. When I moved out because I got a job in a different state, I thought that the staff was very fair in assessing damage to the apartment and I received most of my security deposit back. Overall, I would recommend this apartment complex.
