Today was my move-in day at ST. Johns Wood. My apartment wasnt ready when I got there. The property manager was mean, rude and nasty and refused to speak to me or even address me. And when she did, she YELLED AT ME from her office. After finally getting my keys and walking into the apartment to check it out, I was met with ROACHES in the kitchen pantry. When I went to let them know at the office, it was 2:30 and the door was locked with a sign that said theyd return at 1:45pm (45 minutes ago). And if you ask for corporate information, the leasing agents and maintenance people tell you they dont even have that.Run. Run fast. Do NOT MOVE IN HERE. Incompetent, rude and nasty.

I would not recommend them, the overcharging on the backend once you’ve moved is scandalous. I also had a horrible unwarranted experience with a neighbor and had to move, and they gave me absolutely no consideration, but overcharged on ridicules move out items.

Ive been a resident of a GSC complex for 4 years. Ive spent the last 1.5 trying to get out of a bad situation with another resident. Its been 3 weeks since their last response to me. The financial burden of being a resident with this company is even more audacious when you want to take it upon yourself to get out. Also, who raises rent during a pandemic? Theyre more focused on renovation than they are on retention.

Poor service at the rental property located in Richmond Virginia. Specifically the Hunters Ridge/ Brandywine/ Foxchase community. Maintenance is slow and bad at this community, they will destroy your property. Management constantly changes here so good luck with getting any request complete and your needs meet. Like the other review mention, this company seems to want all the money but do not want to properly services units. They advertise that the apartments are fully renovated but they are not. The cabinets are old with updated cheap doors that consistently fall off, water heaters and ac units are old in most 2nd floor apts and townhomes. I personally will recommend rethinking living in this community. I moved from another state and decide to leave after one year of renting.

This corporation is highly abusive of renters. Our apartment is poorly maintained and office staff are not able to help us because GSC will not do anything. Our rent continues to rise during the pandemic, to the point that our home is now horribly overpriced. We will be moving soon, but GSC is bleeding us dry for every last bit of cash they can get from us in the meantime. We informed the apartment staff in mid-November that we would be moving on 12/29, but they are forcing us to continue paying for our place until 2/14 because of unfair contracting and leasing policies. And we continually get emails about us all being in this pandemic together, complete with reminders of how to pay your rent online. Do not rent from this company, they are soulless and will do anything to make as much money as possible.

I’m really confused on why this is the GSC corporate number listed, if this phone number can’t help at all. Heads up, if you are renting any GSC owned apartment and are having trouble with the leasing office, you are stuck with nobody to talk to. Leasing office at my apartment charged me $60 more on 1 months rent, then told me via email they weren’t in the office to check on why, all while saying I had to pay that amount by 10AM(12 minutes after that email) or I’d get charged $160 late fee. Called corporate office assuming the corporate office number was just that, but the lady who picked up immediately was rude and unhelpful the moment she realized it wasn’t about me being a new renter.

My family, and I was a victim of gun violence in Colonial Apartment,my dwelling I has bullet holes in my bedroom and my grandkids bedroom.the leasing office didnt come by or call. This happened on 10/11/2020 and maintenance still havent came to fix this issue 10/16/2020 All they wanted to no is when my family and I plan on moving .I wouldnt advise anyone to live in this complex. I have rented from GSC for 3years and they will see me in court.

My wife and i stay at st.johns wood currently and we needed a bedroom door replaced. They had adriam come in to replace it and he did an outstanding job with the work, he was very professional and polite as well. It really makes everything so easy and simple and less stressful. So good work, they need more workers like him 👍🏻

I had Buck come and handle several minor issues in my unit. He was extremely professional and went above. I was very happy with the services that I was provided. They have a great maintenance department and I havent had any problems with the office staff at all. I think its all about what you make it when you live somewhere.

In a few years, GSC will become another synonym for cheap (business company) and unprofessional. They hiked the rent for more than 150$ each year I renewed the lease. Also, they did not consider genuine normal wear and tear and some of my concerns, and charged insane amount when I moved out. Not at all recommended.

I moved out of my apartment on August 29th. Was supposed to receive my deposit within 30 days. It’s now November 4th, still to refund. Email chain for days. They’ve given every excuse possible. Said it was mailed out 2 weeks ago. Have all emails as proof. Guess legal action will be next. Avoid this whole company if possible. Pay close attention to the positive reviews. They’re one liners. Probably employees asked to do this, or fake accounts.

Incredible lack of property maintenance that puts the residents and community at risk. Wood boring insects, mold and rodent problems were reported to the office without any resolution. Terrible experience each and every day of my16-month lease. Please do not rent from any of the properties within the GSC family of properties.

I live in colonial apartments, and I have put in and service order pertaining to my a/c unit not working. I have also put in a service order for my soft kitchen floor and ants are still in my kitchen. No one has came to fix my stuff yet and it has been over a week. Check this out as well as the bedroom windows does not open either. If my stuff is not fix tomorrow on the 12 of April 2019 I will be making a phone call to 12 12 on your side and put these people on blast. If I was you looking for and apartment please by all means makes these people the last result. I have warn you. P.s. they are quick to charge you court and attorney fees if you are 5 days late but can not get out here and fix your stuff.

I am a former resident and recently moved from St. Johns Woods apartments on December 14, 2019. I am disappointed that I have reached out in countless emails and the corporate office will never return my calls. I have contacted the corporate contact us page and still no assistance. I have emails of work that was not done or improperly done in my apartment. I have been requesting my refund promised from the previous Property Manager, Sabrina since June 2019. Several times, was without air conditioning. I never has microwave in my apartment and all my bedroom vents were painted shut. These apartments were built in 1977, they have the worst ventilation systems. I have received a $337.00 bill for a carpet spot in the master bathroom. Only one room has a ceiling light in the entire apartment. I was paying $118300.00 to be in less than feasible living conditions. Since the corporate office will not return my calls, I am letting future tenants know. I have contacted GSC via their website and just go a call from the Marketing Manager. I was accessed outrages fees that are no underlined in my contract. I guess they will talk with me in a court room.

I worked with a company that was doing maintenance work for them and they very argumentative. Plus, theyre property supervisor is perhaps the most unprofessional person to work with. Then theres the fact of the units they have being in terrible condition to the point of being dangerous to the residents living there. Overall If working with them has said anything it is that they are not apartments worth wasting money on. Theyre borderline slums

General service corporation better known as icafs has 14 properties in Virginia. Some of the properties are in desperate need of roof replacement,plumbing upgrades electrical upgrades amongst other things. Rents being pushed up for limited service. If you do move in to an apartment please inspect everything!As far as working for the company make sure you ask for all your money upfront because there are no raises!! Bonuses maybe. I had an issue with my rent and spoke with the manager of Somerset Glenn (which she should not be representing ANY company) not only did she hang up in my face but she was acting more upset then me about MY RENT BEING INCORRECT and also telling me that she’s not doing anything to help or fix my issue ! I would never rent with gsc. If these are the people they are choosing to hire it says a LOT about them as a whole. I will be posting the video to ALL of my social media accounts to warn as many people as I can !!!! Do not rent with this company !!!!

Unacceptable lease renewal charges. Almost all the residents have experienced an unacceptable hike from last year. Personally, I am facing a hike of $150 from last year if I am renewing for one year. This is happening at Wellesley Terrace Apartments near Short Pump, Richmond, VA.

Their apartments Breckinridge will rob you at move out . I was charged for vinyl floor replacement and i did not damage the vinyl floor . The floor was very old when i moved in . Do not move with a gsc apartment .Do not move here you have been warned !!!

O currently stay in a GSC apartment they Are always over charging they dont do special, for basic people like family s when they go up on there rent yearly at Kingswood apartments by 80$ to 90$ more then your rent was the previous year they put restrictions on the pool so know one went all summer if maitnence comes in and see something dirty in your apartment they go tell and the apartment make you pay a fee. They make you pay fees for everything.

Treehouse apartments is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived !!!!!! Management is rude and not helpful at all. I don’t understand how half of the staff still has a job at this point . I have had mold in my apartment since September 2018 !!!! They lied and said they would have some one and clean the airways . REPAINTED SPARYING WHATEVER SPRAY THE MAINTENANCE MAN SRAYED THE OTHER NIGHT IS NOT GOING TO COVER UP THE FACT THAT INHAVE MOLD IN MY APARTMENTS ALL THROUGH MY VENTS . It’s to the point I can say that I have had mold in every room of my apartment. My washer machine has not been working for a week now and I got alert started that my work order is complete. I have had 2-3 new washer machines since I have moved in . I moved in Oct 2018. My tub has cracks and chipped of paint everywhere. Plumbing here is the worst and they have the audacity to raise the prices on the water bill. I will be contacting a lawyer at this point. I shouldn’t have to pay for a apartment that has had mold in since Sept. 2018 . And what makes is worst Is that maintenance thinks you don’t notice that nothing has been finish . They always just love to spray and paint over things . I wonder how they would feel is they had a 2 year old living with them and their apartment had mold in it. I called maintenance twice 2-3 days ago and still haven’t received a phone call back . GSC you need to do better with your employees and apartments complexes or you will have a lawsuit filled against YOU !!!!!!!! I will be contacting someone today to figure out what I can do since you guys can’t seem to help your tenants !!!!! You don’t value your customer and it’s said . Its been over a month and no one has fixed our AC unit. No air blows out at all, yet if I can manage to even get someone to come look at it, all they do is charge it which does nothing for the air flow. Its gotten up to 90 degrees in here and I have small animals. Ive put in 4 maintenance requests and still heard nothing. No one returns my calls or my boyfriends calls. This is ridiculous and if its not fixed by the time it gets really hot outside Ill be calling tv stations and my lawyer.

Lets start with the beginning, when I moved in back in 2015 to the Breckenridge complex. Within one month my entire apartment was flooded, Managements response to that was: Oh a pipe burst, act of god, oh well!Since 2015 I have been fighting management on a monthly basis. Mold from related leak kept coming back. I had asked repeatedly to find the source and fix it, and was told repeatedly that its Just water damage....Parking was a nightmare, I could almost never get space. We required parking passes, but they almost never towed, even though they warned they were going to tow they never did.Rent disputes! They changed providers for paying rent and sent NO warning that the automated rent processing would need to be resetup, and charged me a late fee because they messed up!I paid 1k in deposit money and pet deposit money, its been over a month and I still have not been able to reach anyone on getting that money back yet!About once every six months, something on my HVAC unit would break and I would wake up at 2AM sweating or freezing, (Always seemed to happen on the hottest or coldest nights)They kept taking my packages even with the waiver I signed saying the office was NOT to take any packages for me.They would come in unannounced (No legally required notice given or anything!) and do inspections/repairs, I had a macbook stolen during one of these repairs, I reported it up and they told me my insurance should cover it. It was THEIR fault, and they wanted me to take care of it. I never felt safe in my apartment after that!Its been a terrible and expensive experience all around and I would not wish this place on ANYONE.

General Services Corporation is unresponsive to tenant phone calls, emails, and complaints in general. They do not take action regarding any feedback. The maintenance staff at all of their communities is inept and incompetent at best; negligent at their worst. They fail to recognize simple management skills and tactics and hire whoever will fill the position for the least amount of pay. They hire unskilled, unlicensed workers and have them complete repairs that they have no business even attempting. Be sure to Google them and look at the photos. Dont make the same mistake I did! Run! Run away as fast as you can!!Their VA properties include St. Johns Wood, Chesterfield Village, Colonial, London Towne, The Crossings at Short Pump, Treehouse, Legends at Virginia Center, Somerset Glen, Wellesley Terrace at Short Pump, Foxchase, Hunters Ridge, Cardinal Forest, Breckenridge, and Old Buckingham Station.

My name is Will Cashman and I am a resident at Sunchase Apartments in Bradenton FL. I have attempted FOUR times to get in contact with GSC Management regarding my lease end date and NO ONE has contacted me.The original issue began with a clerical error in my notice to vacate letter. My original lease end date was April 9th, 2017, but was entered into the computer as MAY 9th, 2017. After several attempts to have this changed, I still have not resolved the issue.I was told by my property manager Well, I guess youll be paying for May.I have no intention of paying for an added month at Sunchase, nor do I even want to. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the response time with GSC. I attempted to reach out to the District Manager for Florida, left messages, and now have reached the point of giving up.I will NOT be paying my April rent (originally $334) until this issue is resolved. My balance for April is now well over $1,200 and I am REFUSING to pay it. I cannot believe that after a year of being exemplary tenant, I am being treated this way not only by the property manager herself, but also by management of GSC. This is a complete lack of tenant attention, especially on an issue that involves a LEASE.Ive also attempted to email from your website and continue to receive messages stating undeliverable. The property managers of GSC are the absolute worst in the industry! I have never dealt with so many women with horrible attitudes in my life. I would be homeless before ever living in a GSC property! Meredith at Legends at Va Center is the absolute worst out of all of them, Shana at Crossings at Short Pump is a close 2nd, but have yet to deal with any that are even remotely pleasant.

I dont know what B Collins is talking about cause i have lived at the Legends for over 6 years and Meridth has been extremely professional and very friendly at all times. Everyone in the office and maintenance ate very friendly and WILL GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE HAPPY AND SATISFIED WITH ANY CONCERNS YOU HAVE. MERIDTH MAKES YOU FEEL at home and does everything possible to get neighbors together with different pool parties and gatherings. I think B Collins had a personal issue with her that doesnt need to put up on a web site for reviews. From the attitude i get from her/ his review sounds to me like they are a very negative person who isnt happy with anything. Some people in life are just miserable no matter what you do. So yrust someone who has lived at the Legends for going on 7 YEARS. THIS PLACE IS GREAT AND A LOT OF THAT IS BECAUSE OF MERIDTH AND THE WHOLE STAFF WHICH INCLUDES ALL OF MAINTENANCE STAFF.

St. Johns Wood use to have a decent office team, especially Adrianna, then they brought in women with horrible attitudes. Nobody in the office greets you anymore nor acknowledges your presence when you walk in the door. They took away the guest parking passes in January nor do they offer guest parking, so without a parking sticker youre pretty much screwed if your car breaks down and needs a major repair that last more than a week because they wont do extended passes for your rental car or when family comes down from out of town for a family emergency unannounced at the last minute. The maintenance staff is horrible with emergency calls. Appliances are ancient if you dont get an updated apartment for $300 more to live in St. Johns Hood. When your water heater is spraying water everywhere and you place an emergency call, here comes the attitude, or being told during a snow storm to refrain from using the bathrooms for the weekend because the sewer backed up INTO your apartment with a newborn and 2 kids under the age of 8. I kept calling the emergency # and even went as far as calling the health department until somebody came out that night! Stay far away from GSC. I cant even give GSC half a star, but I had to click 1 star for it allow me to post this review. Stay far far away from any GSC property!
