I have lived here for over a year and I love this place. I have had zero issues overall. You get what you pay for! I use the fire pits, the coffee on the second floor and the grills. As long as you place any issues into the online maintenance portal then they fix it asap. I have never had to wait. If I put in a request at 5 pm, the next day its fixed and they shoot me an email sayin done. They cant fix something if they dont know......if you are having issues, then that is on you.---They also send out a yearly survey to ask how things are going and any of my suggestions were addressed! They got a few things that I recommended and more.---The location is prime so you are paying for convenience of Denver -but not downtown. Yo, scoopers and target 5 mins away, 4 brewerys and the lake....---You do have to pay if you want a parking spot -but I asked for a spot right when I moved in so I wouldnt have to be on a waiting list but honestly you will always have a spot on the street if you dont want to pay for a spot. You might have to walk an extra 50 ft but --like come on that is not a problem.---The place is extremely quiet too. I never heard any neighbors unless my window is open and someone is hanging in the second floor common area.---Also Raven is great and so helpful. She is super prompt with any emails and friendly every time you walk into the office. Yo, if I didnt have to move to shorten my commute to the springs I would stay here. Its clean, its safe, I have never had any mail stolen, my car has never been broken into, I can take my dog out at 11pm and not worry. Im going to miss this place.
I dont often write reviews, particularly ones of this nature, but my experience here has been UNLIKE any other that is for sure. The other week, I got a late notice telling me I owed a huge amount in fees which were not disclosed to me when I asked right before I moved out. My apartment was not damaged, and I always paid my rent on time. The whole year I lived here last year, I was harassed by management and even threatened to be evicted because my neighbor below me complained about hearing me walk and run around my apartment, never taking any responsibility for how the building was built or who could hear what echo, all while being trapped inside during a pandemic. I had very bad/minimal communication with the leasing office, particularly with the one area manager, and someone was always replaced every few months in the building. Overall, I found current management to show very little hospitality or care to its residents, instead, applying tricky policies and ways to exploit for money. Im glad I got out when I did, NOT a good way to do business.
Leasing office barley there, there is glass and trash all around the complex, not to mention cops everywhere (tells you everything you need to know) very noisy, and rudest neighbors ive ever experienced. The rooms are decent, but very high turnover of staff.
The only thing worth living in these apartments for is the rooftop. Otherwise, everything is done cheaply, fell apart, and it was impossible to get ahold of anyone to fix it. (When I first moved in, Richard was the property manager, and he was phenomenal!) however, after Richard moved on, the apartment went through FOUR more management changes in less than two years time?! I had a perfect rental history, renewed at this residence, and when I moved out—I gave more than enough notice, and had a conversation with management about my lease terms. I left the state, and then was billed, by NEW management, yet again, with a fat fee for “breaking my lease” early. Unprofessional.
Save your money for something better, seriously.UPDATE 4/14/21precursor: this building has changed management 3x within my 8 month lease. And after speaking to neighbors who have been here longer it’s changed MANY times with the last 2-3 years. As one could imagine that leaves a lot of room for miscommunication.Property management had assured me I would have a balance of $0 upon move out. Management had texted me saying the unit was in great condition and I’d be refunded my deposit. Upon exit I have had half my deposit taken after being told by the one person who should absolutely know how a lease works that they had to charge me for days I was not there. After I moved out. However they communicated by moving out earlier I’d owe nothing. Their word against mine, how convenient.Pretty wrong in an economy where people are struggling to put a roof over their head and food on the table.Cons:-location, a few feet from west Colfax-section 8 housing (volunteers for America) RIGHT NEXT to x @ sloans-packages are almost never put in secured lockers that you as a resident will pay for (& they are left in lobby)-management has no real urgency in responding to requests or concerns-no pool or hot tub-espresso machine is out of espresso about half the time, every time.-stove in unit electrical coil type versus smooth top (a cook’s nightmare)-older type w&d (kind of odd for a building so new built in 2017)-dog poop along whole perimeter of building and no word from management on the problem, no emails send asking residents to clean up after pets (This smells horrible in the summer)& this issue never changed entire lease duration continuous dog poop all along buildings.-rock salt seldom dispersed on ice around building during icy conditions-parking is $75 & up for garage usage, and once opted in you may not change for entire lease duration-broken fridge for 6-7 days upon move in-sub par management with lack of customer service experiencePros:-rental promotion for first month free & choice of a yeti cooler or Apple Watch-close to Sloan’s lake-rooftop views-newer interior-high ceilings-gym-street parking available and have had good luck with it being safe even with w Colfax right hereFirst impression was a broken fridge which ruined several dollars worth of my groceries, they “fixed it” and it proceeded to not work and ruin a second round of groceries. Finally fixed on day 6 or 7 with a whole brand new unit. Was promised a gift card /compensation for groceries in an email chain with old manager, never happened. Management changed.Have had a noise issue and have had to be the one to Reach out and follow up with the manager instead of receiving professional and timely exchanges. Pretty embarrassing on their part. (Issue never resolved)Paying for expensive package lockers that are used about 25% of the time is also a management issue. They ought to either have the package lockers be free of cost or reach out to all delivery services and explain how to properly use package lockers. This has never been an issue at other properties in the city where package lockers served their purpose fully.
I have lived at X@Sloans for a year now. I am in the hospitality business. I have never had such consistent customer service than I have living here. Richard Melton, the property manager, is by far the best resident leader I have ever experienced. He & his assistant Olivia go out of their way to make this apartment living seem more like a home. They organize several weekly events in the building to build unity with all the tenants, they make sure any apartment repair requests get handled almost immediately, and the building is constantly being cleaned & updated for full elite living. Richard and Olivia even go out of their way to update us on things outside of our building - for example, the weekly street cleanings so our cars dont get towed and local discounts from area restaurants. All of this is always handled with a proper greeting and a genuine smile. Everyone is made to feel welcome and like a priority. This up and coming neighborhood is a great location for everyone -- very kid, elderly, and animal friendly for sure! I have seen Richard hand deliver packages (thank you!) and stop everything hes doing to assist residents in moving in. I find it almost miraculous that Richard knows most, if not all, residents by name as well as takes the time in his very busy schedule to learn about us personally. This building has too many amenities to mention; needless to say, you get far more than a place to live when you pay your rent here. All in all, X @ Sloans is a great living community with great customer service from the best leasing agents Ive ever come across.
I moved out in August, lived at X @ Sloans Lake for about a year. My experience was awesome because Richard and his team were always friendly and attentive. It was so nice living at a smaller, boutique community next to the lake and close to everything. I would recommend this community to my friends and family, had I not taken a job across town I would have renewed my lease.
This place is not luxury at all. My idea of luxury AT LEAST has a swimming pool. If you’re a minority you’ll be the only person of color in this community attracting every stare possible by rude residents and a few staff .If you make a complaint management will not take it seriously and wait months to send out a Statement. Dogs pee at the front doors so the whole complex smells like dog piss and it’s so strong you can’t sit on your balacony. Dogs also pee on the stairwells and elevators and leave piles of dog hair on the steps & it takes a week for people to clean it. The dog owners in the complex do whatever the want and don’t pick up after their animals and when you complain they do little to nothing.Your neighbor can tow your car and management does nothing even when you pay 50-75$ extra a month to park. The emergency line never works. They have given out 3 different numbers that the claim they fix and it still doesn’t work. The Back door gets jammed and you have to walk to the front of the building which isn’t safe when you are alone at night or convenient when you have groceries. This place is not worth the rent when there are places in Denver 300$ cheaper, bigger, and more convenient to rail stations, food places and the city. I would strongly consider looking somewhere else even if you are in a rush like I was because you’ll be wishing you did. Just waiting on my lease to be up.
Save your money.
Richard and Olivia in the office are FANTASTIC! They were lifesavers after an exhausting apartment search. They made the whole process so easy and I am so in love with my apartment!
I have found Olivia the assisnt manager, (I think?) is unbelievably helpful. When dealing with preoperty managers I feel like it’s a dime a dozen, you either get help or you don’t. With Olivia, she has gone above and beyond her duties as a property manager to help which WHATEVER it is she can. Building is nice and new so no complaints. Richard is the man too. 1000% reccomend this property not just because it’s nice but because the people who operate it make you feel truly at home.
Taylor and Rochard were very friendly and informative about the property. The property is great and the neighborhood is wonderful.
Love the community here at X@Sloans!!! Friendly neighborhood, beautiful unit, considerate staff, especially Richard!!!! I cant appreciate you enough!!!!
I lived here for a year and had such a positive experience throughout the entire year. I moved out June 30th and have yet to receive my deposit back. I received my final statement on August 9th and was told I would get a check in the mail soon. I waited three weeks and nothing. I called & spoke to Olivia who said oh I didnt have a forwarding address for you. LIE! I included it in my move out notice. I provided her a new address & asked her to send the check there. She said ok. I waited another 2 weeks and still nothing. I called again & told her. She said oh how about you give it until Friday & if you still have not received it we can place a stop order & send a new one. I told her I did not want to wait because it should have arrived if she had sent it when she said she did. So I said just send me another check. To this day, I have not received anything. Ive called & called, left voicemails, & e-mailed the property manager Richard & have yet to receive a response. I am incredibly disappointment & frustrated.
Great location, building is new and clean. Management is the Best
