Of all the apartments I lived in (I’ve lived in quite a few) Alara Union Station has the most friendly, kind, and thoughtful staff. Special thanks to Melanie and Hannah for making the move cross-country so easy and for making the community feel like home. 10/10 recommend moving here. Is in the perfect location surrounded by restaurants, bars, parks, train station, and Coors Field.

I just want to say that Lamont has made this apartment complex worth it. He is kind, patient, professional, and always answers any questions. There were some issues when I moved in and everyone else was frustrated but Lamont was and has been the nice one at the complex. I am very pleased with Erica the manager and Lamont. If you ever need to move in here please look for him. He is the best leasing agent I have ever had. When he explains things he does it in a nice way and not in an undermining way or authoritative way he is always pleasant and professional. Thanks Lamont for everything you have done and always being kind. You made Alara Union Station a nice place to be.

It was devastating losing everything including our pet due to a fire that destroyed 10 houses and we had no idea what to do. We are grateful to Lamont for his compassion, understanding and help in dealing with the insurance co. He kept in touch and whenever I had a question and called him he responded and helped put my mind at rest. If anyone needs Alara Union for any fire, flood etc they are the company for getting help.

A terrible place to live. The leasing staff doesnt help you with anything and cant remember simple details about you. It took 3-4 months to sign a lease here because the leasing office somehow didnt couldnt remember my name and phone number. I had to go to the office more than 5 times and tell them what it was even after writing it down for them every single time. On top of that, they are so quick to respond when they want to bill you for something. The hallways smell like garbage and the utilities are terrible. There is a 2 in one washer/dryer that will shrink and wrinkle your clothes every time you use it. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I lived here for 2 years and only recently moved out because I bought a house. I looked at pretty much all of the apartment complexes when I moved to Denver and the value of what you get for what you are paying was best at Alara. The location cant be beat, with the Pig and Sprout and King Soopers both downstairs. Finally, all of the staff are incredibly friendly and will do anything for their residents. The apartments are large, the bedrooms were large enough for a king sized bed, which is impossible to find in an apartment. The amenities are great and pre-COVID they did a lot of resident activities like happy hours and ski trips, that Im sure will resume once its safe.

Alara is an amazing place to live! You cant beat the location (above king soopers, near the park, or minutes from the heart of Downtown) or the amenities (constantly kept clean and beautiful) -- but thats not all that makes this place special. The management team goes above and beyond to help the residents and make this a comfortable place to live. I really feel like they have my back, theres been several times when Ive needed a helping hand and not even been aware of something I needed help with and theyve showed up for me. I wasnt expecting this kind of support since Ive lived in other places where I feel like youre on your own in the building.Shoutout Mel especially for helping my roomie and I get settled from the start, and everyday since moving here! Youre amazing!

The best apartment I have lived in, and I have moved 7 times in the last 10 years so that is saying something. The staff and sense of community is second to none. Every single person was always willing to go out of their way and drop everything to help, whether packages, moving in or out, reserving elevators, getting guest parking passes, (thank you Melanie!)figuring out renewal and move out details, or even just friendly conversation and checking in during a crazy 2020.Great communication all around, so helpful and I can’t say enough good things. Thanks again for everything, miss seeing everyone and hope you’re all doing well! Special thanks to Erika for going out of her way to reach out, package and ship a bunch of my mail that got stuck at the old address! So cool. Great spot, the team is what really makes it better than the rest, highly recommended.

First thing first. Melanie is the absolute best!!! She will go out of her way to make residences happy. Shes always happy and warm and welcoming. I simply cant say enough about Mel.Alara is a fantastic complex. For one, its directly above a full sized grocery store. You have a private elevator to the private lobby that you can securely enter the store though. Once you move there, youll quickly realize that this amenity alone is worth the price of admission. On top of that, the apartments are very nice. The flooring is amazing, the windows are large so that we get plenty of sun, and all the appliances are great. You will quickly feel at home here as the staff as a whole is very welcoming. Even the maintenance staff is amazing and will start recognizing you to help you out if ever you need it.Ive never had a single issue that wasnt promptly and professionally taken care of. From snaking out my hair in the bathroom sink to replacing water filters because I use the fridge filter for everything, they are on top of it and usually do things same day.Things to note are that the fitness center is no longer 24/7 because of Covid. I know this is a Graystar rule and not a covid rule as other places are still 24/7, but hey, you cant win them all, right? The coffee maker, as amazing as it is, is also down for Covid. Thats completely understandable.Bottom line is that Id live there forever if I could. The staff and complex are top notch. I toured many places before calling Alara my home, and let me tell you, the difference between Alara and another complex that is double the price is negligible. This place packs a whole lot of amazing into a reasonable price. You all rock! If I wasnt moving, Id still call you my home!

I have been living at Alara for 2 years now, and was initially living in the unit next door but had to be moved within the first few weeks due to a terrible odor that they were unable to find a cause for. The assistant manager, Samantha, at that time was very receptive and came up to inspect my unit and figured out a solution quickly. After moving, Ive had a great experience living here until recently. I should note that the apartment I moved from was unable to rent for nearly an entire year due to the smell.Over the last several months, my current apartment has started to develop the same odor in the entryway/kitchen. After multiple maintenance visits for inspection/replacement of suspected equipment, there has been no improvement in the odor. The same maintenance supervisor recognized the odor from before and remembered all of the issues I had. I was additionally told by another maintenance employee that multiple units in my vicinity smell this way and there has never been a cause found. Two outside vendors were brought in to scan for moisture & inspect ductwork but did not find a cause. The odor is concerning as my allergies/asthma have been terrible during this time and I am worried that something is making me sick. All I was offered was to put in a scent machine to mask the smell, or move units but would have to start over with a completely new lease again. I asked to please terminate my lease 1.5 months early, giving them 2 months notice as required for courtesy as I cannot stand the smell, and their response after 2 weeks was the two vendors that came in didn’t smell it so I was not allowed to waive termination. Both vendors that came in were wearing masks, the first was offered to remove his mask by the maintenance supervisor to smell but he said he was only there to check for moisture and was not interested. There is a new assistant manager now for the property, and not once has the management team come to my unit to inspect it. Additionally, the communication has been quite poor.It is frustrating that after being a loyal tenant for the last 2 years that the most I am offered is to pay an exorbitant fee (more than rent for the remainder of my lease) to terminate 1.5 months early, even after giving proper notice. I would not recommend this apartment complex or management team to anyone looking, as they clearly do not care about their tenants and will not offer help for issues that arise - even when they are out of the tenants control.UPDATE: The community managers response is to have me reach out to discuss further after I have been reaching out to them for months trying to find a solution to this problem. Diffusing a frustrating situation with a statement that is incorrect is not helpful in an apartment community again shows they do not care about their tenants. My compromise was to give a 60 days notice so that I could move out only 1.5 months early, giving the complex a chance to fix the odor for the next tenant...but their response was - No, I must pay a large fee in order to move out early even after all of the frustrations this has caused.

Do not live here if you want a smooth move out process when your time comes to move out. I visited this place hoping to live here, however I quickly changed my mind after touring the community. The agent showing me units told me absolutely nothing about the community, nothing about the units and seemed as if she didn’t even want to be there. I had to pry information out of her like, what are the amenities, what units do you have available, how much are they! When we finished, she told me, alright here’s your ID and didn’t even bother to give me any information or get information from me.

Alaras management team is the best. I moved a long way to Denver and they were extremely helpful throughout the whole process. Very easy going. I had a critical issue needing some documents while out of town on a business trip...the manager willingly went up to my apartment, located the documents and overnight shipped them to me. I have lived in a lot of apartments around the country and cannot name ONE that would have done this for me. They are fantastic. The building is brand new with great amenities and surrounding restaurants/grocery.

I mean even when I moved in, I received a pizza and ice cream from them.Did I further mentioned is atop a Kongs Soops market? ....Yeah! Alara has a great location, is nice for living in general, and has friendly front office staff who are helpful regarding all routine questions. Though, the back office bureaucracy at the management company-level, and lack of flexibility amid the pandemic, has been awful. We would not recommend this place for living in 2020, due to the Greystar management companys pandemic response to its residents, as well as their unreasonable renewal policy at the end of your lease. Surprise! For my studio, the rate automatically went from $1471 all the way to $2953, with no flexibility due to COVID-19 even 45 days in advance of lease expiration.Despite incoming residents getting lavish deals (1 month free, etc.), theres been zero compensation/offers for existing residents after taking away all amenities for three months (not even trying to partially open working spaces or gyms until mid-June, long after many surrounding properties did so). The pool and lounge remain forbidden, as of June 30.Though, the pool has actually never been open for the entire time that Ive lived here (half of a year before COVID) - despite it being a major sales point. As mentioned above, Greystars Alara Union Station has a clause imbedded in the 43-page lease contract, as well as behind the staple on the back page of the physical lease renewal offer, stating that your lease AUTOMATICALLY renews at a ridiculously high rate month-to-month, if you do not tell them multiple months in advance.

Also, when I found a replacement tenants for taking over my lease, when I asked her the lease registration documents, she keeps lying that she has sent the papers and we never received them. She has always been rude since she joined few months earlier. The management should fire such people who don’t respect their tenants. Great place to live for 6 months, then pulled a 180:This place WAS amazing to live in, then it was sold. When it was sold, the apartments filled up, and the people in the office were replaced it turned into close to the worst if not the worst place Ive lived, which is nice considering the fact they charge luxury apartment level rents. The most glaring issue is the front office staff. No matter who you talk to they say they will get back to you because they cannot even help with the simplest of questions or issues. When you press them two or three times, the assistant manager, Krista, might get back with you. When this happens youll be treated to a nice condescending reply and she might help out with a couple of your concerns. Its not like we had constant issues that we needed help with, maybe once every couple of months would this occur, mostly centered around change of policy revolving around the sale. This goes without saying, and I should have been more careful of it a few times, but make sure you get everything in writing before you leave the office. Whether through malice or incompetence, things were said that were simply not true. Twice I was told one thing, only to show them that they were incorrect and the correct policy was in the lease. The second issue, once the place passed around 40% occupancy, it became glaringly obvious that the walls are made of the thinnest material known to man. My neighbors werent overly noisy, but because of the building material sounds carried through the walls easily. The elevators are painfully slow, and there are only 3 of them in the whole building. The moving elevator was constantly left open even after people were done using it to move, so really 2 elevators. The garage has cracks and leaks that deposit lime and damage paint, the damage to my truck was taken care of, but was a pain to deal with. I can only imagine the issues I would have had if the problem occurred while the new front office people were there. The pool area is nice during the week when there arent a lot of people around, but on the weekend its clear that they never enforced the 2 guest policy, as there were parties of 15-20 people, most of whom didnt live there. This was frustrating when there were no seats available for paying residents. I knew this going in, but didnt realize that it would bother me this much, but paying this much rent, and theres no hot tub?All of these things would be expected out of a mid level apartment building, but to pay for luxury living, these things are absurd.

This place was great when I moved in, but I realized over a few months why the reviews aren’t that great. The floors and ceilings are not sound proofed at all. I can hear the people above me every time they move which is a lot. While the maintenance staff is ok when you need something in your apartment fixed, other things in the building such as the coffee machine, gym equipment and secure doors in the parking garage have been broken for a while and will continue to be.The last major issue is that the fire alarms go off all the time and it’s always at like 3am, which results in you standing outside for 30 minutes as the fire department comes and then finds nothing. The apartments are nice, but for what the cost is you could get better at other places in the area considering the issues this place has.

Also, the management office staff have always been really helpful and friendly when Ive needed them.On the critical side, the fire alarm has gone off probably 3-4 times during my time here, which is somewhat unpleasant when it happens at 4am. The property is very nice aesthetically. However, when you get past the aesthetics, the overwhelming issues set in.1. More resources should have gone into sound-proofing between floors. I was told there was concrete between floors, which is not turning out to be the case.2. The wood floors must be glued down, and do not appear to be tongue and groove, so with the Colorado dry air, the wood begins to shrink leaving huge gaps between planks which makes it very hard to keep floors clean.3. The public spaces are very nice, but those resources would have been better spent providing the kind of living spaces that speaks to the high rent prices.4. The community gatherings are well-planned and well-attended.5. The gym is likely the best amenity, and has good equipment, but does not have enough towels, towels are not replenished at a reasonable rate, and often times there are bottled waters in the refrigerator and sometimes there are not. Consistency would be nice.6. The business center is nice although I have never seen it crowded, again, a nice to have, but likely resources that could have gone into making each apartment unit nicer.7. There is not enough storage in the kitchen, and the cabinetry is very shallow.8. The access security features do not work, so either you get locked out and have to hope that your key fob works at another entrance or youre fortunate enough that King Sooper is open and you can cut through the store to gain entry into the lobby. The call-boxes do not work and have not since moving in months ago, which makes it a pain to have to run downstairs any time you have a guest since you do not have the ability to let them in remotely.9. The office staff is friendly and helpful at all times which is a bonus.10. The hallways are not vacuumed with any semblance of consistency even though house keeping staff is in the building daily.Price vs. Benefits/Experience is not balanced. This place is just too expensive given all of the issues that still exist even months after the initial opening of the facility. There are better built options in the downtown areas, and I wish I had more time to house hunt before I selected Elan - it definitely seemed promising and I was quite excited to live here.

I have been living here for almost two years. In that time, this building has gone totally downhill. The tenants are trashy frat boys and sorority girls who yell in the halls at 2 am when they return home drunk. Another tenant let their dog have diarrhea in the carpeted hallway and just left it there for others, including me, to step in. Im writing this now at 2 am as a drunk man destroyed the valet trash can which I had left for trash pickup outside my door and threw the pieces down the hall. EVERY SINGLE Saturday and Sunday morning I am woken at around 2 am by loud drunk people in the halls. I am a professional with a job. I feel like Im living in a college dorm. Dont move here if you value sleeping. Do move here if you feel like paying way too much and living with a bunch of trashy bros and brodettes.

We spent a full weekend searching for a new place to call home, as we are relocating from Southern California. And when I say full, I mean it. I think we saw 12 apartments not counting the hours spent searching before our trip. We were sitting in front of an apartment building we were debating going into after not being able to get in touch with anyone and feeling fairly exasperated as we just werent in love with anything we had seen thus far, and sitting across the road was Alara. I convinced my husband to go in, even though it seemed a bit out of our price range. The second we walked in, I was hooked. We were greeted by Mel, who is absolutely darling, and she informed us that she had a full day, but could fit us in the following day. We continued our day with a few more set appointments, but in the back of my mind I just knew that I was going to fall in love with Alara and I was trying to figure out how I could convince my husband to jump on board.Well, luckily I didnt need to do the convincing. Mel (Melanie) took us on the grand tour, and we continued to fall more and more in love with everything about it. The floor plans are more spacious than other units we looked at, and the amenities were well kept up and very clean. The gym had that new equipment smell, which I cannot say was true for some of the other complexes we visited.Mel never made us feel rushed, it never felt like a sales pitch, and by the end of our tour we felt like we were friends. The night after our experience at Alara was the second to last Game of Thrones episode, which I can fairly say was super intense. We also happened to watch it at a local gay bar with a drag queen hosting, which Im sure you can imagine made for quite the evening. The thing that stood out to us was that after the show, all we could talk about was Alara and how excited we were to make that our new home.Mel - if you see this, thank you for everything!!!! We are looking forward to this next chapter of our lives and we cant wait to get there!!!!

I can’t say enough great things about Alara Union Station. The staff is always friendly, courteous, and helpful. The location is unbeatable, and gets better every day as new restaurants and retail open all around the property. The rates are competitive with other properties in its class, and has an abundance of reasonably priced parking and storage, which is almost impossible to find around Union Station. They have a great gym and business center you can use 24/7. You can easily walk to the A train to catch a ride to the airport, and you don’t even have to leave the building in bad weather to shop at King Soopers or Starbucks. There is actually a private elevator that takes you right into the store. They were also amazingly flexible with our move out date as our future home was new construction, and the delivery date kept changing. We had a real fear of being homeless or having to pay crazy week to week rates, but the staff at Alara is amazing and they came to our rescue. Thanks Alex, Dana, Cameron, and the rest of the staff. I love the location but there are several problems:1. Trash and Recycling - the trash and recycling is always overflowing and always a mess. I feel that residents pay far too much for an inconvenient and smelly problem.2. Rules at the pool are not enforced and there are often Melrose Place college type parties en masse that take away from the enjoyment of paying residents.3. There is no contact information online to deal with security issues such as loud people at the pool after hours or people violating parking issues or taking up paid spaces. Several times there have been people parked in my paid parking spot underground with no security/towing available and absolutely no recourse for me to pursue as it has occurred after hours.4. Clerical errors - I signed a 15 month lease but due to the clerical errors of the front office the lease was changed to a 12 month lease. No one knows what is going on.5. High levels of neighbor noise. My apartment gets excessive levels of noise from the pool, from the gym below and from upstairs neighbors - expect a lot of excessive noise.Maintenance is extremely reliable and excellent with maintenance issues addressed with quality within 24 hours. The maintenance of this facility is one of its greatest strengths. The amenities are nice, the location is great but the rent prices are outrageous - especially considering the services provided. Ill be moving out as soon as possible - very disapointed.

I moved here in May 2015 and still live here, sadly I have to give only one star if there was zero they would get that rating. It is absolutely outrages how Greystar runs the business -they will lie to you even if truth would serve them good ! They will discriminate you and manipulate with all kinds excuses, also, if you are not home and your package was delivered -you will never see it - If you refer someone to move -in live here you most likely will not get your resident referral, I for sure didnt received any credits .They claim it wasnt written on their applications which is all scam because they were told verbally I referred them ! In May of 2016 after new ownership, I was sent threat letters by greystar leasing office (Krista)of not paying rent -after review of video tapes I proved them that I actually did pay rent on May 2nd as property manager Suzanne stated but to this date I have not received credit for my cashed check and btw letters were sent after 5th of May and check # posted on resident portal site is not matching which means they cashed both checks and that is theft !!! My intelligence was insulted by leasing office staff by providing inaccurate information regarding my health in 2016 and they have audacity to bully me around community and tell lies, I am so disgusted by greystar company and elan/alara union station . Long ago I asked for upgrade from studio to 1bdrm unit, never happened .Last year my social worker had a meeting with Carmen and asked to negotiate rent price, greystar claims they have no records and they will not honor it, but just week ago current resident posted on yelp how greystar /elan leasing staff didnt increase her rent -talking about equal housing LOL what a jock ! In January of 2017 elan staff posted on their web as well craigslist etc. special move-in which means people off street would pay almost $400 less a month vs me and other residents -outrages- . To this date I never got compensation for damages to my car in 2015 and btw they give my parking spot to another resident without my permission or any notice ! My west elm sofa was stolen by greystar claiming it was theirs because they use west elm for interior design . Fire alarm is regular issue here at elan unionstation it goes off very often and usually is false ...I could go on and on but this will give you a picture of how greystar does business . All I can say is good luck, cant wait for my lease to end, if needed I will take legal actions against owner/ elan /greystar .As of March 7th 2018 I give them 2nd chance to work with me, they failed .I wanted to upgrade from current unit several times and they did not respond to my e-mails, I even spoke directly to staff, nothing was done. Units(5043, 5024) that I wanted were leased to a new residents, beyond outrages .I asked why would you skip me, their response was because we can, therefore for these reasons I will see them in COURT !

I dont even know where to start. But here it goes....Do you like over paying? Do you like getting lied to? Do you like a good fairy tale? Well Elan aka Alara station is right for you.One word of advice.... get everything in writing. Unless youre dealing with Krista. She will lie. She will be condescending. And even when you have emails proving other wise, She will not come out of her office to talk to you. I still dont even know if she has legs. She doesnt leave or give you eye contact.Dont get to learn anyones name. They dont stay long enough. Sad to say but its true.Do you also like trash? Well youre now a proud owner of a dump site. The hall ways will always smell. Your friends will tell you how bad it smells. The office will do nothing. Tour on a Monday. Tour on a Tuesday. You have been warned. If you cant. Look at the carpet. Stains everywhere.I will say the only great thing about this place is Ryan. You can see that from other reviews. Hes the only one you will actually want to talk to. You rather something break then have to be lied to by Krista.I loved living here at first. But the turn over rate. The reviews. The constant being lied too. The dirty halls. No thank you.Btw the walls and floors are NOT concrete. Any step. Any sneeze you make will be heard. No matter what size your place is. You can hear everything. EVERYTHING.I still live here. And I pray everyday that I wake up and my lease will be over. 2 months to go.DONT MOVE HERE. Look at the reviews. They speak for themselves.

If you like to be discriminated against then this is the place for you. Im going through Identity Theft and even with a federal court order they refused to approve me. Rude, disrespectful, and a waste of money. Stay far away.
