So far so good. Samantha, Liz, Ana and all the workers there are very professional and helpful. The only reason I don’t give Milo 5 stars is because of the noise, you can hear your neighbors very often and some of them go to sleep very late… sometimes they stay at the pool partying until 3/4am. Other than that, a great place to live with good amenities and well located.
I have lived at Milo for a couple months now and I have to say that I am loving it here! Karen and Anna took great care of me when moving in and the entire staff has always been there for anything I’ve ever needed. The doggie spa on the first floor is amazing and I love playing pool there up on the second floor. I highly recommend this place!
I am a former resident & lived at Milo with my partner for the month of October 2020. Our experience was horrible.Do not judge this luxurious property by its pictures. In the 12 days that we lived at Milo, we were extremely dissatisfied and miserable to the point that a lease termination (an over $4000 payout) was our best option.Sure, one is to expect noise while living in an apartment. However, the daily noise of this building and its cheaply constructed walls are entirely unreasonable for the price you pay. Throughout our entire day (& I have recordings), we would hear plain as day conversations, music, normal walking sounds, dogs barking, and constant bangs/thuds. We also experienced partying neighbors screaming/lying down in our floors hallway. If you enjoy hearing everything going on around you at all hours and missing sleep because of it, you will love this place. Managements kind suggestions of wearing ear plugs and using a white noise machine did not help either.Further, we were initially misled that we would be the first residents in our apartment since the building had newly opened. We later learned from management that this was not true & that the previous residents also left early. It speaks volumes of Gables management, namely Joseph Markonic, whom would not even attempt to negotiate with my partner and I on adjusting our lease break liquidation damages (2 months rent).Mind you, this was in the middle of the COVID19 pandemic, and my partner absolutely could not stay in that extremely loud environment as she suffers from a diagnosed neurological illness.I do not recommend living at Milo.
My good friend and resident of Milo was assaulted in front of the property recently. After reading summaries of the incident (see below posts), I’m utterly appalled at how Milo Management has responded to the victim’s family. It should be completely understandable for a victim of a robbery and assault outside their home to want to break their lease. It’s completely absurd for Milo Management to not be compassionate and understanding during this time. Instead of offering the victim a free lease termination, they’ve offered to move the victim to a higher priced apartment with a new lease, or pay an outrageous $6k lease-break fee.The assault and robbery was not Milos fault but the lack of compassion and blatant disregard for accommodating the victim is disgusting on their part.
I cannot wait to get out of here. The fact that there as an assault on the property and NONE of the residents have been notified, the property management company has been completely silent which is unacceptable. They are trying to cover it up instead of reaching out to the community so people are aware or can be safe… that’s ridiculous.
The maintenance is incredible, I say this because this is a new beautiful place but with new comes a few minor kinks here or there. Javier, the maintenance guy is always right there with a helpful smile and is Super Nice to work with, even for dummies like me. Its fantastic living there!Darlene
We moved in 2 months ago and really like the Milo. They staff are super helpful and the quality of the apartment is very high. Also, the amenities (coffee machines, gym, pool, sauna, game room, tv room, work-share areas) are quite exceptional. The coolest thing is secure bike storage and a repair shop for the bikes as well as a room to take care of the pets. Also two months free rent made the decision quite easy. And its nearby a lot of restaurants, a theatre, and of course theres Trader Joes. And of course Ana, Samantha, Liz, and Javier.
The Milo is the worst apartment experience Ive ever had. It is not safe place to live. There are homeless people in the stairwells, our car was stolen out of their garage and our son was assaulted in front of his apartment. He has had 2 surgeries and is still in ICU from the beating. The Milo has no security cameras for the residents just THEIR ASSETS. ( per Joe Markonic Senior Regional Manager for Gables Residential). Joe also told my husband that its not their job to protect the residents just THEIR ASSETS. My son also suffered two broken feet along with his head injury and will be in a wheelchair for months. His current apartment is not wheelchair assessable. After speaking with Joe and sharing our sons situation below is his reply:The Milo is sticking it to us by not providing wheelchair access to his apartment!THESE ARE THE OPTIONS WEVE BEEN GIVEN. SEE BELOW.Transfer on site. Current two bedroom options that we have available are listed below. The resident will also be required to pay lease break fees (liquidated damages as stated in the lease and concession payback) and new pet fees, if applicable. Also, when signing a new lease before your lease expiration, you will enter in to a new lease term (for example, a new 12 month lease) and will be required to pay the $240 administration fee at move in.Give 60 days written notice and stay thru the end of the lease, which is 12/16/2021 and there would be no other payments due.Simply vacate the unit, no notice required, and pay $6,492.50. this is a 1 month lease break fee and re-payment of concessions already given.UNBELIEVABLE !!! I HOPE THIS REVIEW SAVES ANOTHER PERSON FROM ENDING UP AT THE HELL HOLE THE MILO / Gables Residential.
My younger brother lives at Milo luxury apartments in Denver, CO. He was on his way home last Saturday night and was assaulted in front of his apartment complex. He is now in the hospital and was in the ICU for 4 days fighting for his life. Milo luxury apartments has denied requested footage by my family stating that their security cameras are for the apartments assets not the security or safety of their residents.Prior our car was stolen from the apartment complex in my brothers garage at the apartment complex and set on fire.Hows that for luxury?
Milo has been a big letdown and a waste of my time and money. We moved into a new unit with bugs everywhere, and it didnt seem clean when we walked in. Our leasing agent quit or got fired between signing and moving in, and we have already seen three more managers leave during our time here. We never know who to talk to, and the problems never get fixed. Microwave never works, and they never do much to fix it. The gym is always closed. Want to play Pool? Bring your pool cues since they dont provide any. Ive had packages and mail lost multiple times. I can hear my neighbors next-door TV at all times, and they are not even playing it loud, so I cant even complain a lot; the walls are just paper-thin. Bringing groceries from your car to your apartment is just a hassle and very inconvenient. Ive lived in many cities and different buildings and dealt with all types of issues, but this building is inadequate for being new constructions and labeled as luxury living. Dont fall for that gimmick; there is nothing luxurious about The Milo.
I’ve lived here for 9 months and will be moving out at the end of my lease. Things are going downhill very fast. Everything was perfect at first when I moved here. Very quiet and lovely unit with nice finishes and cute amenities. COVID hits and all amenities close and rent stays the same. People moved across me and I can hear their conversations, their dog barking, and every noise they make. People move upstairs and I can hear them close their dishwasher, doors, and move around. I am trying not to get annoyed by the noise but cannot believe how much noise I can hear around me for brand new units. I work at the hospital and it’s very disheartening seeing residents and property personnel not wearing masks properly or wearing a mask at all. Makes it very hard to use the gym and outdoor area when you are surrounded by people not wanting to wear a mask for the safety of all of us. Between the noise, the residents not following the mandatory mask order issued by the state and some issues with the leasing office and maintenance that I want to keep private; I am ready to move out and not have to deal with all of this anymore. I wish they can sort some of the problems the property has. This property had so much potential and Im not stunned by all the negative reviews.
The apartment is great, love how it looks and it’s always clean and sanitized. The gym is amazing- huge and you can control the shades on the windows to exercise in private. The pool and amenities are luxurious. The staff is so helpful and attends to matters in a timely manner. Could not recommend a better living experience in a better location!
I’ve lived in Denver for 3 years and this is by far my favorite apartment I’ve lived in. The amenities are great and we have had zero issues with our apartment. The staff is super friendly and do a lot of free giveaways and events! I would extend my lease
I feel like I can hear every single movement my neighbor makes. I can hear them closing cabinets, putting dishes away, walking etc. I would guess that the walls are incredibly thin because I’ve never experienced so much regular living noise in an apartment before. I’ve had countless other issues with Milo and management that I won’t even get into. In my opinion, this apartment is way overpriced for the quality. You can find better.
Ive lived at the Milo Apartments for about 4 months now. The front office staff is super pleasant and has been very helpful in locating lost or misplaced packages. The gym and the pool/hot tub are great amenities and are kept very clean. The location and proximity to good food and Trader Joes is a great perk. However, I have to agree with the other reviews that I can hear every move my neighbors make. Theres often people down at the hot tub playing music loudly into the night. It can get really frustrating, especially if its keeping you up at night. Im not sure how that issue can be solved, but thats really my only complaint.
My boyfriend and I have lived at Milo for about 3 months now, and at first we really loved living here. There is no denying the great amenities, how beautiful the units are, and how ideal of a location the property is in. But after living here for awhile and more units becoming occupied, you start to notice how poorly the building was constructed. The walls are incredibly thin to the point where we can hear anything our neighbors are doing (talking, walking, drilling, etc.) whether they are above us or next to us. With the courtyard being a u-shape, any pool noise echoes up to our unit. More often than not, we are up late due to the noise and there is really no way to resolve the issue because of how poorly constructed this place is. We also had an issue with insects in our unit upon move-in which is something I have never experienced before. Management here is very kind and tries to do what they can to help resolve any issues but ultimately little can be done. If you are looking for a peaceful, problem free home, I would not recommend living at this apartment.
Dont care about their residents, dont have any morals, dont live here
Been living at The Milo since January and I love living here. The amenities and the apartment interiors are fabulous! When moving here I worked with Julia, she is amazing! Whenever, I have questions she always gets back to me. Javier, with maintenance, has been great at following up with maintenance issues and work orders (P.S. love the app!) The whole team is awesome to work with and make living here so easy!
Things are going downhill fast at this apartment complex. Ive lived here for longer than most residents and things were definitely better pre-pandemic, but the true colors of the company and residents are starting to show. Way too many people walk around without masks, especially considering that so many of us are healthcare workers at the surrounding hospitals and are trying as hard as we can to stay well. People often dont clean up after their dogs despite there being free bags in the grassy areas and Ive definitely had a few encounters with very aggressive dogs here. Theyll try to tell you that the building is quiet because of the soundproofing, but after having someone move in above and across from me, I can confirm that you will hear everything. The elevators smell like weed constantly and residents will hang out at the pool/spa super late and make a ton of noise despite the amenities closing at 6 PM. Masks are a rare sight in the gym. It seems that hardly anyone has a working microwave and the company cant do anything to fix it until later this year. The valet trash makes the hallways smell horrible in the evenings (and you have to pay for it). Most of the office staff is pleasant, but they dont seem to be on top of things and I have yet to see them say anything to maskless residents in common areas. I cant believe how much Im paying to live in such a small space here. After scouring Denver for a places to live during my past few years here, I highly recommend leasing from an individual instead of a big company. There seem to be very few decent apartment complexes here, and even the luxury ones like Milo and Theo have major issues. I cant wait to get out of here.
My Girlfriend and I recently moved to Denver from Texas. The apartment search before was long and tedious especially when you’re moving from a different state. The last complex we came to was The Milo. Right away it was super modern and cool looking from the outside and even more beautiful on the inside. There are so many amazing amenities and everything is state of the art, brand new. Most importantly our Agent Julia was so helpful. She was completely transparent, listened to our wishes and wasn’t pushy. With the current state of our country with the pandemic she catered to us, and worked with our time frame due to all the craziness. All in all the move was very successful and not stressful in the slightest. Thank you so much to Julia, The Milo, and the gables community for making it so easy for us to call this place home.
Lived at one of their townhouses for a very short period (less than a month) and would not recommend it for anyone. To put it plainly it was a horrible experience. My primary complaint is noise — you will hear every step your neighbors make and it was so bad we were forced to liquidate as the impact on our mental heath and well being was too great to endure. For some background, each townhouse has a flat/unit above and there is virtually no insulation at all between the 2nd floor of the townhouse and the flat above. Even normal walking echos throughout the entire townhouse (both 2nd and 1st floors). We mistakingly thought that if we were on the ground floor we could escape the running and noise above us - but alas there was no escaping it at all. We could clearly hear every step and noise our neighbor made regardless of where we were and felt the vibrations echo throughout the entire townhouse. For us - that sort of noise and disturbance made the townhouse unliveable and we were forced to liquidate for our mental health.Noise was our #1 issue at our old place so when we moved we specifically asked about soundproofing and insulation between units. We were assured it was condo grade and that the complex had never had any noise complaints. This can’t be further from the truth and the noise was not bearable to any degree. I would avoid this property at all costs. For how much rent goes at this property, you have plenty of options around Denver (in similar/better neighborhoods) that are actually built well and have solid construction/soundproofing. If noise is a concern for you - do not lease at the Milo.
My experience living at the Milo the past 5 months has been fairly positive but as with any apartment complex it does have some pitfalls.Pros: responsive staff to emails and concerns, beautiful and hip complex, amazing walkability to Trader Joes, restaurants/coffee shops, short drive to Target, gym, and Cherry Creek Mall.Cons: appliances are finicky- our fridge makes loud noises when the motor is running and dryer snags any clothes made of dry fit material (both have been addressed by maintenance but problems have not been resolved), amenities are closed when the office is closed which makes them impossible to use for someone like me who works regular 9am-5pm hours, both my husband and Is cars have been broken into (and no we did not have any belongings laying out in plain sight). Lastly, if you elect to move into the Milo do not move into a unit on the west side of the building as they scoop the sidewalks in the area at extremely early hours in the morning which have been disruptive to our sleep.
**UPDATE: After living here for 14 months, I have to say things have improved. Although staff still has a high turnover, they have solid management on site. I recently moved into a bigger unit, and I will agree- the noise proofing is an issue. I hear my new neighbor way more than my last so if you are sensitive to noise then this isnt the property for you. I have never heard my neighbors talking, and I have to believe people are exaggerating a bit...but I have heard my neighbor turn their disposal on, run their vacuum and stomping all above me (I got unlucky with a heavy footed resident)- all muffled, but nonetheless- audible. This is a solid 3 star property, I am happy to see things improved and I will remain another 14 months.***Take it from a resident who moved in a month ago, skip this complex. From the outside it’s very nice and during the tour you will see all sorts of amenities. What you aren’t told is this building was entirely too rushed to open and it’s clear when you look around. Half of the amenities are open but not functional, the main elevator gets stuck too often and outside doors will randomly not unlock when they should. The apartments also have a vent providing constant airflow coming into the unit without the ability to shut off increasing the temperature of your apartment, keeping it a constant 72.Disappointing choice I made, but I’m hoping once this complex gains age- it will get better. If you want a better option, look into Theo next door, similar priced and managed much differently.Truly pathetic that the regional manager at Gables (Joseph Markonic) has the nerve to give this place a 5 star rating and he doesn’t even live here.
Do not work here and definitely do not live here. The office staff is unbelievably unprofessional and has no idea what they are doing. There is theft and drug use in the office and the leasing manager handles all phone calls on speaker. They will sell you on the amenities but they are hardly ever opened. They do not sanitize the gym but will say they do. Their key fob system is always down and it will be a pain to get in your own front door. The elevator never works and it is never available when you need it. There have been cars stolen from the gated garage and they do nothing about it. Look somewhere else and spend your money on better living.
With COVID limiting the ability to visit the property in person before renting (Im from out of state), Julia at the leasing office was incredibly helpful in answering all of my questions and even taking videos of different units I was interested in so I could see them before renting. She checked in with me regularly before I moved to Colorado and really helped make the move-in process easy. I am very happy with choosing Milo as my new home!
I have been here almost 5 months and so far its been great. Everything is always clean and the whole property is extremely modern and well kept. The management is very attentive and happy to help with any issue, especially Julia at the leasing office; shes always quick to assist with a smile!
After relocating we wanted to make sure we weren’t settling on our new home. The Milo is not only beautiful, but located in an amazing area and has great amenities! Thank you Julia M. for a seamless move in and for helping us move in during such a crazy time, you are amazing!
Very bad experience living in Milo Apartments. Read this before signing anything, this review includes our experience from a unit in the main building, and one of their TownHouse apartments across the main building.Moved from out of town during Covid and we were only able to tour places virtually. One of our main concerns when moving was noise and insulation between units. We didn’t like any of the few top floor units available here, but after being promised “10 inches of concrete, and some of the best insulation in Denver” we decided to go against our gut feeling of sticking to a top floor, and sign an 8th floor apartment. We moved to the 8th floor and we noticed issues right away. As soon as we stepped in, we could hear a lot of heavy stomping from upstairs. We mentioned this to management right away, and they told us nobody has complained about noise before, so the problem has to be the tenants above us. Management emailed them, and this only caused more issues, neighbors didn’t like that and the noise increased after that. Management never took any responsibility for the noise, even when providing evidence of excessive noise in the middle of the night, they just pointed fingers and blamed the people upstairs for being loud and not knowing how to live in an apartment building. The walls between apartments are paper thin, we could hear conversations from the side neighbors as well as music/bass and all sorts of noises.Management decided to offer us the ability to move within the complex as long as the unit was more expensive and we pay a transfer fee. We were desperate enough to agree and decided to move to a townhome (they have 9 town homes, and only 2 are leased, should have been a red flag). We packed up, and moved across the building. If you haven’t seen the layout, the townhomes are two-story apartments, and there’s a flat on top of you. This was the biggest mistake we ever made. AVOID the TownHomes!!!!!! There’s a reason most of them are vacant after a year of being ready to lease. You can hear 5 times more noise from your upstairs neighbors, somehow they managed to make them even more paper thin between units. Our neighbors had kids, and we could feel (from our downstairs living room) our townhouse shake when the kids ran across, which was VERY often. It was so bad, we paid 2 months of rent to liquidate and moved out within 2 weeks of living here.As you can see reading Google and Yelp reviews, this is becoming normal. Obviously people are complaining about the noise, and the problem here is the poor construction, and I doubt management will ever acknowledge that, not sure how they are not embarrassed to call these apartments “Luxury”. Management is very inexperienced, they will tell you something before consulting with their regional manager and then take the offer off the table. Do not trust anything they say unless you get it in writing. Good luck getting any good communication from them once you’re not a resident.Other stuff to take note from when we lived here:- Nobody wears a mask! At first I thought it was Colorado, but once we moved and also toured other properties noticed the problem are the tenants here. We had to kick people out of the elevator every single day.- We didn’t have a working microwave during our 3 months in the main building. They kept sending people to “check it out” but never replaced it.- Gym and Amenities are always packed with people not wearing masks or following any CDC guidelines.- Be prepared to get weekly emails about possibly water outages.Hope this review helps anyone else moving to avoid this property. You will find better apartments for a little more that truly feel luxury. These apartments are overpriced for what little they offer. We made the mistake of moving here, don’t just believe what I am saying, do your research and check out your options.
Gables newest property in Denver and best value around. Incredible amenities with more on the way. The hallways have an upscale, hotel vibe. What sold me here was the staff - the leasing agents are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and happy to help however they can. Most of all though, the best management around. The manager is formerly the manager of my former property - she takes care of everything that comes her way and with a smile. She and her team made me feel more at home while touring than I feel in my actual home. The one month free really helped me out. Also, if you do tour and sign a lease, mention my name! I’ll split the finders fee with you! Hahaha tell them Ryan Saul sent you!
Awesome living space, great amenities, helpful staff, great location, 10/10
The amenities (pool, gym, lounges and common areas) are the things that made us move to Milo. But when we saw the finish of the apartments, the distribution and the views we fell in love with Milo. My advice is that before seeing Milo they compare with other buildings so that they can be convinced that the quality price here is unmatched.
An unfortunate experience in communication with leasing.
Office Stay very rude and condescending
My cousin is living there and was assaulted on the property. The company was not helpful when family and police requested requested security video from the assault. The company now will not accommodate my cousin who needs wheelchair access to his apartment. They want my family to pay $6500 to get out of the lease instead of providing him with another option that is wheelchair friendly. The company said their residents safety is not their responsibility to my family and they have shown how little they care care and how little human decency they have through this whole process. Stay away. Keep your family safe.
