I have had water leaking into my apartment for over a month after I reported it. It leaks over a light switch and into a light fixture. The office told me to contact my renters insurance to get a hotel. I did, and they denied my claim because the property manager told them there was no hazard. The property blames the insurance company, the weather, the repair company -- everyone and everything else -- for the lack of repairs.DISHWASHER NOT INCLUDED, dont be fooled by the floor plans.
DO NOT RENT HERE! bad beg bug problem! the office manager, mitchell is very nonchalant to this problem. The maintenance team harasses me! There are homeless people sleeping in the elevator, we get our cars broken into at night. One night someone even slashed our tires in the parking lot! There are no cameras & Mitchell is nonchalant to all these problems.
I lived here for a year, left as soon as I could. Terrible place. Bedbugs, cockroaches, very poor repair. screams at night, as soon as a man is cut with a knife, the police very often come. Cigarettes and marijuana are smoked on the grounds and on the stairs. Deceived when checking in for $ 300 for some incomprehensible insurance. Never live here. Office staff write positive reviews here.
Apartment was dirty when I moved in dog hair in the fridge and freezer and the sideboards of the carpet and toilet was disgusting with brown stains and there’s bedbugs and cockroaches and I only been here for four months and they keep hounding me about money every other week with a note on my door Audrey and their pool is dirty with dirt inside of it in Buck’s false advertisement on the website pictures of the pool.
It will have been 2 months this month sense i been living here. This is a great first time apartment renting opportunity for those that want to be ON THEIR OWN.The people at the leasing office are great down to earth people. With the complex being 80 years old shows the integrity on still being open today.
I love living here! The staff are absolutely amazing and friendly. My apartment is spotless and I have no problem with bugs or noisy neighbors. It was an easy process to move in and I cant wait to make this place my home!
Well i guess they got so many bad reviews they cut their phone line. Tried calling for more leasing info and it auto disconnects.
Ive recently moved out and was their for about 5 plus years i loved it, it got small on my family. but they are professional. shout out to the maintenance crew they are the best all going out of there way to help you out. i wish you guys had bigger apartments.
Tay & Chelsea was very helpful and professional . I had great experience on tour of the apartments very friendly and made me feel welcomed. They both explain everything in deep detail to where I could understand instantly helped me as soon as I walked through the doors. I definitely recommend talking to those two of your searching for a new apartment.
Chelsea, the community manager was beyond amazing to work with. She goes above and beyond what her job duties include. She made our move so easy. Response time is great, and apartment concerns were addressed right away. The location is ideal and close to EVERYTHING. Call for info and make sure to ask for Chelsea! :)
This place is horrific! I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone! I don’t know how they can even rent these units. The elevator has the same mess from a week ago and it operates poorly! No maintenance or management accountability! And sadly, I don’t even live here! I’m visiting family and can’t wait to get them out of here. I think there are a lot of people being taken advantage of here
I can barely sleep in my house at night because all I can hear is the rats in my living room, pest control didnt do anything, so I had to buy my own traps, and it did catch one but it sounds like there is more in my apartment. I will not be renewing my lease here Im GROSSED OUT.
This place doesnt even deserve ONE star. We lived here almost two years and it was two years of unorganized, disgusting, roach-infested HELL!Yes, roach-infested. And not just a few here and there, Im talking we had to throw out a majority of our furniture and clothes when we moved because they were infested with roach nests. When wed complain to the office, they would send in a company who would at the most spray our apartment twice a month and it did NOTHING. The roach problem was so horrible weve found roaches in our packed boxes AFTER leaving! You can bet I placed a report to the housing authority after we left. The other reviews arent kidding either when referring to the disgusting living conditions this entire place provides. Is it affordable rent? Absolutely. Is it conveniently located close to highways, businesses and schools? Yes, but none of those are worth the SLUM youll be living in if you agree to live in this place. The walkways, elevators and laundry rooms constantly smell like urine. (That is, on one of the rare occasions the laundry machines actually WORKED and we could use them..) And dont even think about using the pool - there were multiple times I witnessed people having sex in there (in broad daylight with kids around, mind you.. keep it classy Meridian Garden residents!) or drunk families throwing beer bottles around and trashing the place. One time, the pool was closed for a month because someone threw a turtle in there. Im not even kidding, this place attracts tenants more disgusting than itself. And dont even get me started on the office staff. When we moved in, we had friendly front office and maintenance staff who promised a good experience for us (this was our very first place, so needless to say we were naive and easily fooled), but shortly after everything went to hell. The entire maintenance staff quit and we were left with lazy slackers who never came by to repair whenever we called, the elevator was left out of order for a week, and dont even get me started on the rude people working in the front office. Whenever wed call to complain about something, we were treated very rudely, sometimes even hung up on and our issues were never resolved until we went in the office personally to complain. With that said, I sincerely hope that entitled, useless brat of an office manager Aubrey is no longer running that place. She was the worst! Her horrible and spoiled attitude made walking into that office an unpleasant experience every time.Long story short, if youre considering living in this slum, RUN AWAY! Dont be fooled by their fake pictures and reviews.
I have resided at Meridian Garden Apartment since March of 2012 and will be moving out this month (Feb 2013) not because I hate the place but because I am relocating for work purposes. Regarding the apartment, I enjoyed living here and never had any problem that wasnt promptly fixed. The maintenance people are friendly and fast and the people in their leasing office are friendly and polite. Now my main problem with this apartment is the noise. I live on the first place near the playground and my goodness, the noise level especially during the summer time, would drive you crazy. Some of these parents have the most unacceptable parental skills and very little consideration for their neighbors. You will hear kids constantly running up and down the stairs chasing each other, running in the corridors screaming, riding their bikes and skateboard all next to your front door. And believe me, it wouldnt be a problem if they actually went to bed by 8, but no these kids are outside playing till 11pm. And it doesnt get much better during the winter time/fall semester when they return to school. The washing and drying machines are constantly broken and once I found a man passed out drunk in the laundry room. I, addition, the apartments are constantly being sprayed for bugs. Thank goodness the only problem my apartment had was roaches but not in the quantity that would drive anyone crazy. I swear the 11 months that I have lived here, my apartment and apparently most apartments, have been sprayed every month and some times twice a month for roaches. I have taken it upon myself to buy pest control sprays, traps and even bombs but it only helps to decrease the appearance of them but not completely get ride of them. And during the summer time, you will most definitely be needing to buy our own source of air conditioning because their AC units does not work. Actually is not that it doesnt work, is the fact that the AC unit is only in the living room and the rest of the place is supposed to be cooled by fans. I had to buy three fans myself to keep my place somewhat cool and that didnt even help. But all in all, I enjoyed living here and would have continue my residence at this apartment if I didnt have to move out of state.
Very disappointing and disgusting. Lived with bed bugs and roaches for 9 months and it’s still not under control. Management leaves the office constantly to have smoke breaks. The women in the office don’t care about us tenants at all. I’ve emailed and haven’t gotten a response half of the time. I’ve also asked for my signed lease numerous times (since january) and still have not received it. They always have excuses, nothing is ever their fault. Maintenance takes about a week to come to your apartment and pest control arrives whenever they feel like it. There’s trash everywhere and the people here smell, very poorly maintained. Overall this is the WORST place I have ever lived.
The staff at the Meridian Garden do good work at everything they handle. I have been a resident for the past 19 years here and I am pleased with how I have been treated. I would reccomend anyone to dtay here. i feel at ease.
I agree with other feedback, the laundry centers on site are never open on time, sometimes an hour or two past the posted times. There are also multiple machines down at any given time. I have informed the management staff, but not much improvement has been made. I do like the location and apartments have been updated.
DO NOT LIVE HERE! from the day i moved in to the day i moved out, there was a constant bug problem through out the building. the management is irresponsible and frankly pretty rude and dealing with them was always an unpleasant experience. They say they will do things and they never do them. honestly save ur money, living in a cardboard box on the side of the road would have been more sanitary and enjoyable.
The leasing consultants are very unprofessional. She took me on a tour and told me NO, we dont have a pest problem. After being there for one day I found roaches under the kitchen sink and by the front door. She didnt know when the place was built. The pest control people never came to spray for the bed bugs. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Horrible maintenance staff, I had just moved in and he comes right on in while Im in the shower. All because the leasing consultant didnt communicate it was now occupied. Dont waste your time.
This is a shame! I thought this would be a good place to live, but I would not even dare put in an application. People its time to call the housing authority and the news. This owner is pathetic! These rating are just unbelievable.
I have been avoiding giving a review for these apartments until I moved out, and even then I would have given them a 3 star review. The reason that I would have given them a three star review is because I was able to move in a few days early. Ordinarily, a few days is no big deal, however when your (now former) roommate allows her boyfriend to move in before you move out, despite you not liking said boyfriend and that not being part of the agreement that you had with the roommate, a few days is a huge deal. There was also some miscommunication regarding how much I actually owed and I had a certified check for a smaller amount and the leasing office accepted it. The reason that I am giving them a one star review is because of the following- it is the straw that literally broke the camels back. Since I have moved in there have been issues with the laundry facilities, this one though takes the cake. First there are 3 washers and dryers per room. There is one washer that is permanently broken, and if you are lucky the other two actually work. There is a large sign on the door stating that the room is open from 8:30am-10:00pm 7 days a week. Before I have had issues where the rooms were locked before 10:00, today though was beyond ridiculous. I went down to do my laundry at 7:10pm and both rooms in my complex were locked.Starting a few months after I moved in I started having trouble with my shower changing temperature in the middle of the shower. I contacted maintenance and got a rather snarky response stating that sometimes it is hard to mix the temperatures of water in older buildings with older pipes. This completely ignored the fact that I stated in my request that I was not touching the handle when the temperature changed; it was the temperature that I wanted when I stepped in and then it changed. I finally got them to fix it, for a few weeks and then instead of going from the temperature that I wanted to freezing cold than back, now it goes from the temperature that I wanted to either freezing cold or scalding hot and then back. I am not bothering to complain because there is literally no point. I also managed to break my key off in my lock on a Sunday and when the maintenance guy came he told me that “he doesn’t normally do lockouts on weekends”- I am sorry but that is NOT a lock out, that is called my key broke and I can’t get into my apartment. And finally, this one amazingly enough has nothing to do with management but everything to do with the neighborhood. If you are making a left hand turn into the parking lot you can sit there for 10-15 minutes at a time waiting for either a break in traffic or for some people nice enough to let you in during rush hour. Other times of the day you run into the problem of people who really should not have a license in the first place- the one time that really sticks in my mind is this driver who pulled out of a parking lot a few driveways down and was going 20-25 miles an hour, with a green light waiting for them, staring right at me, going just fast enough that I couldnt turn in front of them but slow enough that the traffic behind them was catching up. This was intentional and has happened on more than one occasion- drivers will go really slowly when there is a green light looking right at you while you wait to turn left. Again, not management but something to watch out for depending on where you are coming from. If possible avoid that left hand turn during peak hours of traffic. People are nasty.
This place looks okay from the outside, but spend some time and youll regret it. No one respects this place. The managers are very little respect for you either.(In Response) Ive talked to youre staff. Theres nothing they can do apparently. Youre automatice response is the perfect example of how much you REALLY care about your residents. Not even enough to write out a response individually. GFY!
I have personally lived at this location for 2 years now and I regret nearly every moment of being here. From the beginning I had major bug issues and still do to this day. Cockroaches are everywhere in this complex and it’s because of the nasty neighbors that leave their trash on their front doorstep ever day. The walls are coming apart, the paint is peeling off the walls, and the neighbor above me floods his bathroom once a month causing a flood in my apartment bathroom. Don’t mind that every year they are gradually increasing rent for a decreasing quality of life. Do not, I repeat with major emphasis, DO NOT waste your money and live here. The front desk reps do not care about the tenants and give the excuse of “oh it’s an old building, there are going to be issues.”EDIT- Upon moving out I was told that there was going to be a charge for the prorated period of rent that I sadly had to pay, I gladly agreed to this but less than a week later I had a note posted face out so EVERYONE IN THE COMPLEX could read that I was somehow past due on my rent and was about to be evicted. Complete disregard for privacy and their tenants. This place is GARBAGE. The management team is GARBAGE. They have NO concern for you or your apartment. It’s a 9-5 job for them and they will not ever care for what happens in your apartment.Just a reiteration that no one should live here. Especially if you’re looking for any quality in the way you live life.
I would give this apartment complex an even lower rating if it was possible.Every month there will be a new issue. Our bathroom is leaking, the windows can not be locked, our AC stopped working as soon as we used it a few times. Our light switches spark, and in addition to that a loud thumping noise comes out of the light switches and our walk begins to shake. O but that is not the worst part. The maintenance tech came in to my apartment WITHOUT permission to enter if there is no response. This while I was home alone and in the shower. I opened my bathroom door and there was this RANDOM MAN STANDING IN MY DINING AREA. Imagine being a female home alone, you open your restroom door and theres a man you do not know just standing there. Heres the kicker,he didnt even leave once he realized someone was there in the shower. So fast forward to today, me and my spouse went to the building management office to let them know about our electrical issue. We let them know that we would not be home for someone to come in and take a look and let her know that they did not have permission to enter wothout us there .. So the leasing agent let us know she would put in a work order and someone would visit our apartment tomorrow while someone is home. However we came home to a notice on our door saying someone entered our apartment dispite this. I was extremely upset by this and rightfully so i would think so i went over to share my frustration and this rude leasing agent told me to get out amd threatened to call the police on me.* Forgot to add that of course the maintenance LIED and stated that he left the apartment as soon as he heard the shower running.
Never lived here, wouldnt want to.
Our daughter lives there and has had nothing but problems with bugs and lack of any kind of maintenance. Kids that play in the courtyard busted the AC unit so she hasnt even been able to run it and the so-called pool is beyond unusable. There was always a cluster of young adults hanging outside the office doors just watching people come in and out of the parking lot so felt a little uneasy picking her up & dropping her off - we leaving her there. I really wish she could afford to move out.
Living at Meridian Gardens was a truly unpleasant experience. Upon first moving in to apartment 407N, I started to notice mattresses and furniture constantly out by the dumpster. Within a month, I found bedbugs in my apartment. As a clean-freak, I had never had them before and I was devastated. After immediately calling pest-control and hauling my clothing/bath mats/shower curtains etc down 4 flights of stairs to launder, I was terrified it would happen again. I put everything I owned in plastic and spent $600 replacing my bedding. 5 weeks after the harsh pest control spraying, I came home to find a live bedbug on my bath mat and two cockroaches in my impeccably clean kitchen. At that point, I didnt want to go through all that again so I immediately moved out. This describes the main reason why I would never ever recommend this dump. I also had a bashed-in door and an air conditioner that didnt work when I moved in. This was a tragic situation for me because I was initially excited about living without a roommate for once and decorating my own place. I had to spend hundreds of dollars to move-in and then move-out a few short months later. The city needs to close down this place. I now have new context for the saying, Goodnight! Dont let the bedbugs bite.
Cockroachs everywhere do not live here!!!!!!! i know it sounds affordable but trust me its not worth the stress especially with rude employees.... half of the tenets dont pay on time so there is paper everywhere ...
Terrible value-- The apartments are 450sqft and the rent is $800+ a month. When I initially moved in, there were dead bed bugs EVERYWHERE. Literally everywhere. The blinds break every day because they are so brittle and old. Ive asked them to come in twice to change them out, and they just flip the old blind over and make a hole and stick it back up. Every morning (Including saturdays) I wake up with blinding light coming in through my bedroom window. They have ONE AC in the far end of the living room. Good luck sleeping in your bedroom in the summer. The elevators are also constantly broken. Not that Id use their dirty elevators on a regular basis-- I just hope its up and running when I need to move out of this S-hole cause I live on the 3rd floor. The other day, they left a note on my door saying rent is increasing even more this upcoming leasing term. Its amazing how many better deals you can find when youre pushed to. Now, I am moving into a 850sqft apartment IN Denver, with 2 swimming pools, a full gym, laundromat, etc for $930.You guys are a joke.
Great place great location friendly staff is excellent and got a great deal on my place
Although the location is great, the place has a serious bedbug and Roach problem that they must fix. I cannot begin to explain how bad it got, and the health and safety concerns that could arise. My mom lived here for a while with my father and there was continuos paperwork errors that they had and refused to fix. When the problems are brought up, like the pest problem for example, I did not get much response from the person in charge which is a problem within itself. The pool is very poorly maintained since they have to clean it manually, but rarely do it. The playground is a fun place for various children who run around. When I went in to turn in the keys the staff was nice and the office was well taken cared of from the looks of it. After everything, I do not recommend this as a living situation.
This place SUCKS. Dont let the furniture in the picture fool you. The place is tiny and easily gets messy. DONT. MOVE HERE.
Bed bug and roach infested! Management doesnt care about their tenants all they care about is MONEY! ol greedy mfz! Just terrible terrible management I wouldnt want my rabid dog with mange to live in those type of conditions! Thats Amerikkka though good going Amerikkka!
Elevators break every other week, cockroaches are everywhere, and the first month i moved in there were beetles falling from the fan in the bedroom. When i moved in i was assured that the bugs were gone and the apartment had multiple bug checks before i moved in. I am curious to know what was checked because i was picking up trash from the previous tennant and theres a hoard of cockroaches under my oven. It hurts my heart to know i have to raise my 3 year old daughter in this bug infested apartment. I truly hope this apartment complex improves over time. Finally moved out after a year of bedbugs and roaches. Still incompatant employees. Each time we requested something to be fixed it needs to be ordered and never showed up, each time i requested what all needs to be done before move out- nothing dont worry about cleaning carpets, we need to do that with our company, theres no requirements to clean two days later i get an email saying i owe 200 MORE because the apartment was inadequately cleaned. So.. there IS a requirement you idiots. Dont screw families over by making up rules as you go. Thanks and train your front staff to know something now and then.
Moved in June and this place is not a clean or safe living. Holes on the walls .. nothing been fixed closet doors are broken.. still nothing has been took to action ... and asked for them to fix the leak on our ceiling since we have been here ... Cant wait to get out of this hellhole ... And yes slot of bugs... You are a fool for living here if you choose to do so.!!!My lawyer has everything documents pictures of how our place looks if they give you any problems get a lawyer you will get you deposit back if you are here. On top of that pain and suffering. You would think they would do something I pay my rent always on time not worth close to 900.00 a month and its only 600 sqft and yes Im still living here so if you see this post I hope you do something ... But I feel bad for what you present to people to think they are having a wonderful place.. you call your self human I call you greedy and heartless ...
DO NOT MOVE HERE. Unless you like a never ending supply of roaches and bed bugs. It would be an okay place to live if it wasnt for that. Location is good, maintenance is nice and prompt, the building manager is a nice lady (and I dont blame her for this at all), but that doesnt make up for the money that has been wasted on spray, and new furniture. Had to throw away our mattress within the first three months because it got so infested, and when we thought we had gotten rid of them the roaches showed up. There are at least three different kinds of roaches, its insane. When we thought we had the bed bugs under control I found three more hiding on our new mattress, and another on my pillow this morning! And they have the audacity to raise rent. Youd be crazy to move here. Please dont, for your sake.
You wouldnt believe the number of cockroaches. Seriously. If you knew, that alone would stop you. There is nothing you can do about them. Your apartment can be spic and span--they will still be there in large enough numbers that you will feel them crawl on you at night. Even if you leave no food out for them to eat, they will eat in someone elses apartment and then go chill at your place. There are little holes connecting the whole infrastructure into a big cockroach network. There are routine treatments that start with the bottom floor and go up. When they treat the bottom floor, the roaches from that floor simply go up to the 2nd. When the 2nd is treated, they are pushed up to the 3rd, and so on. I lived on the 4th floor and there would be a surge of roaches when the lower floors were treated. Now lets say you dont mind the bugs. Maybe youre really into them. In fact, living there was a bit of a life-changer because now I can sit on a couch surrounded by roaches, and Im not even bothered. A roach can crawl across my food--I aint even mad. Still, there are other problems, mainly at the front desk. They are rude and irrational. They are ridiculous about money. You may be unexpectedly threatened with a huge fine, like a $1000 fine for being a single day late with your 30-day move-out notice. On the plus side, there are plenty of opportunities to grab free furniture from the garbage in the parking lot. I got a sofa, a dining table with chairs, and some other stuff. The washing machines work. The elevators work, mostly. Utilities in the rooms work. The neighbors arent that bad. Its just on a highway. S Havana St is a busy road and has about 6 lanes right there, plus turning lanes, so if you have to turn left to get in, youll almost always have to wait a long time.My advice is dont go here unless the price is right for you and youre really friendly with roaches.
Between the nonworking elevators, closed pools, bed bugs and roaches, Id avoid this place at all costs. As if this wasnt enough, when it snows the parking lots go unplowed for at least 1-2 days. The maintenance staff are very slow and less than professional.Oh, and I forgot to mention, the guy who fixes the elevator is not an electrician. There were 5 occasions in 10 months where the fire department would show up to put out an electrical fire in the elevator or save people who were stuck inside.
I have lived here since july 2009 at first i was good we got the quiet building but they never came to fix anything on our checking list .two drawers are broken have never been fixed till yjis day there is alot of roaches we have bed bugs only in our living room which is weird very little in our two bedrooms . the elevators always smell like pee n people smoke in there n theres spit. The laundrys are always out of order n they recently put yhe price up on washer n dryer which sucks because it will sometimes leave your clothes soaked in water n will not dry, if they dont work you can ask for a refund but they take like two weeks im still waiting on mine. Just last month on the 9th i got stuck in the elevator for a whole hour while it was snowing. I do not recommend these apartments and if you xo move in good luck!
Great management always friendly and very helpful
Dicusting place bed bugs every where do not move here
Dont live here. Maintenance people suck, office people suck and they are never open.
Infested. Dept of health needs to step in.
