Our A/C broke down right before a massive Heat Wave! We called David at First String Heating. He came quickly, to ascertain that our very old A/C unit, definitely needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, our furnace (similar in age), also needed replaced! UGH. David and two other men, swooped in to replace both units! I have just had an AMAZING experience with Matt! After being quoted $2800 to fix a compressor in my very old AC unit from another repairman, I knew something didnt feel right. I called Matt due to his 5 star rating and he was able to confirm that it wasnt the compressor that was broken it was the capacitor. Matt was fantastic to work with, and my bill with him was $250. Im so glad that we were referred to Matt and First String during our search for an HVAC company to install new equipment for us. While nearly all of the other contractors we had in to give us quotes were in and out within 5 minutes, Matt took a great deal of time and care making sure he knew exactly what was needed, inside and out, for an installation on our house. His immense knowledge and honesty were on full display as he was able to explain what First String would do during the installation, and what their limitations might be. The fact that his quote was cheaper than anyone else, while providing a higher quality system (including a smart thermostat at no additional cost) was simply the icing on an already impressive cake.If we were on the fence at all about accepting his estimate, all of our fears were assuaged when he took the time to answer a few questions regarding the size and SEER of the AC system (wed struggled to keep our previous house cool during the insanely hot summer months, and were concerned about the capabilities of a 13 SEER unit), as he was honest in what we truly needed for our home, instead of trying to upsell us on more expensive equipment.During installation his crew was tremendously professional, leaving the areas they worked in cleaner than when they started, and when we had some questions and concerns about things after the installation was complete, Matt came back to discuss them with me personally the next day to see what he could do to make things exactly how we wanted them.Theres a reason its impossible to find anything less than a 5 star review for Matt and his team, they quite literally go out of their way to make sure that you are fully satisfied with the work that theyve done, and if youre not, Matt will personally work on things until you are. Matt and his team did a lot of great work at my house. They installed a garage gas heater w/Nest thermostat, a new furnace, installed a whole house humidifier, and put a thermostat on a fireplace. Throughout the process he communicated very well and was punctual. He took the time to explain the pros and cons of various products. A+++! Great company!

What can I say, Matt is the best. His expertise and attention to detail is second to none. He is also high integrity and very straight-forward. These experts came in and did the work in my crawl space with the furnace and ducts and AC. They took their time to do it right. They even came on Saturday to make sure it was done. My air conditioner pan was leaking water and Matt told me exactly how to fix it to avoid a costly service call. If thats not customer service I dont know what is. They definitely have my future business!

Matt is great. He is very straight-forward and walked us through the process if we had any questions. Its easy to tell he takes pride in his work and when our furnace went out, he worked us into his schedule to make sure we were not stuck in the cold. I needed a new furnace and called around 5 or more companies for estimates. A few of them came by and looked at the furnace to get an idea of what is required. Here is where First String Heating stood out, Matt was the only person to come into my home with a mask and covering for his shoes. That is a major sign of respect especially with the pandemic going on. He provided me with the best quote and didnt try to upsell me at all. Just an honest man, you can tell when you first meet him. My technician that did the install David was awesome. He was very polite, worked hard non stop for almost 7 hours and asked me if I had any questions throughout the process. David even came back the next day to do some minor adjustments, he went above and beyond what im sure he is required to do. Im just happy I came across this company and such solid people. Please dont make the mistake of looking elsewhere. Quality, service and value all A+!!!!

I have talked to David and Rico about several jobs to complete. They are always willing to help out. Recently they installed a system in my house. They did a new furnace and AC and I was extremely happy with the work completed!

I called Saturday as our furnace was having issues, Matt was open and honest during the call, and he showed up Tuesday in the snow. We had previous service where another company had to replace the blower motor. They didnt do a good job, Matt found that it wasnt plugged in correctly in about 5 minutes and took care of it. Now our house is warm, and I highly recommend this company and its owner, Matt, we have his number saved and will be calling him again if we have any further Heating or A/C issues.

After experiencing a nightmare scenario with another contractor who said he was licensed and knew how to install our AC system (which we discovered after the fact that he didnt have a clue). Matt and his team came in and promptly, professionally, and efficiently cleaned up the mess and got our AC system running correctly. I was impressed with Rico and Dave and how they showed up when they said they would, did excellent work, and were extremely respectful. If I could give them a higher rating, I would. Matt and his team are extremely responsive to the customer’s needs. I was (am) getting some home remodeling work done, and they came in to do some duct work. At no charge, they reviewed the functionIng of my existing 20-year-old heating and AC unit. While I could have kept running with my old units for a while longer, I decided to upgrade since I’m already doing the remodeling work anyway (no pressure from Matt, entirely my decision). Matt and his team were quick and professional in replacing my old heater and AC and the new units work like a charm!! They also brought everything into “code” for 2020, so the house is updated in that regard as well. I couldn’t be happier and the price was extremely competitive. I was getting a headache from a smell that I thought was coming from the furnace for over a week, I called first string heating and Rico came out and took a look. Turns out we had a gas leak! He handled it quickly and professionally and we were very happy. Definitely a good company and very friendly.

Matt Stringer’s work and workers are so good. He came out promptly when our air conditioner went out in the middle of summer. The replacement part and labor were a lot less money than we expected!One of his technicians checked and serviced our furnace before winter hit, and replaced a part that was about to break, again at a small cost to us. The technician was so polite and friendly. We recommend this company highly for all of your HVAC needs.

I’ve used Matt for years but recently had him come out to do the furnace tune up for the special rate of $49. He was on time and always wore his shoe covers. We will be calling him soon to do more work.
