Owner does not know how to run a business, I had a problem with the nail tech who literally was so bad giving a manicure that he didnt even let my feet soak and scrubbed my lower leg for 6 min and never even touched my feet. I spent almost $40 and the owner didnt even try to reconcile and give me something off. I requested another nail tech immediately to finish my manicure. I was a frequent customer till now,The men are so bad at nails make sure you get a woman. I will not be going back here because if the owner doesnt care about his customers then I dont care about his business. When your paying almost $90 on nails I expect great service.

I came here to do my nails with connie, she was extremely rude and pushy I mentioned I wanted short nails and even told her to cut down but she didn’t! When i explained to her how I want my nails she got all defensive and said no need to explain i know how to do that and then left my nails exactly how i didn’t want them. Don’t recommend this place for anyone.

The only reason I even come to this salon is for MiMi shes the only good nail technician there. The manager is rude, you tell him you have an appointment yet he does not take you in on time! I had an appointment at 11:30 and had to wait till 12 to get my nails done because he was too busy to notify my nail technician. The nail technician that does my moms nails literally took someone else instead of my mom when my mom’s appointment was also at 11:30! There are so many other nail salons in the area don’t waste your time here!

I liked the pedicure i got she did good, didnt like how the male nail techs messed up my nails. They shouldnt advertise they do rhinestones. They dont know how to properly apply the stones. I went elsewhere and got my stones redone because they did such a sloppy job.

Have been coming to this salon for the last 4 years. I don’t go in for anything special. Just mani & pedicure plain polish. Service is great, staff are very friendly and kind. Just came after they remodeled and it is very beautiful. They are very clean and sterile. The tech today was very helpful in selecting my shade. The new seats are very comfortable and pleasing to the eye. Would recommend. Didn’t give 5 full stars because they don’t really spend time on giving the foot massage or the hand massage- it’s very quick you don’t really get time to enjoy it. Also the hot towels I wish they would keep them on a bit longer. The time I came in it wasn’t busy, so no need to rush. But overall great experience.

I decided to come here to do my nails, i wanted shellac on my hands and regular polish on my toes. first off the lady that did my nails was extremely rude, she got annoyed when i asked only for 2 colors. she was aggressively painting my toe nails and didn’t wait for them to dry before putting the clear coat. she argued with me that my toes had shellac from before and charged me extra payment to have them removed even though i repeatedly told her there wasn’t shellac on my toes. after she begun on my nails, and it was fine at first but again she wasn’t waiting for them to be done from the shellac machine before putting on another coat. she did a terrible job shaping them into square. after i was done she told me the total and it was way more than what she told meon the phone and i asked what she charged me for and she charged me for manicure shellac and regular polish on toes, and i was very clear with her that i didn’t want manicure. she then argued that she asked me if i wanted a manicure and that i said yes, and i didn’t. and the “manicure” they gave me was just dipping my hands in water. now i understand why they have only this many stars, i would never come back here again and told them what they did wrong for the future.

Waited over an hour to get nails and be waxed I was not greeted by anyone and sat with my name on a list whilst watching several customers wait and leave after not being served. The employees blatantly ignored every phone call as well. After I waited over an hour I had to leave I had multiple customers ahead of me and couldn’t bare it any longer.

Too busy! I went in as soon as they opened. Didnt wait too long to take a seat. The manager was doing my nails, kept answering the phone and tending to his employees. What shouldve took 40 minutes took over an hour and a half. Nails were ok, couple nails look crooked, I filed one of them myself when he stepped away lol. Ill stick to my usual spot.

I really appreciated my service from Sun. I needed a soak off and one of my nails split. She was caring and careful. I was also really thankful for the overall cleanliness of the salon. I just had a baby and have been really scared to go out. Ive been to too many places that havent respected the COVID safety protocols. I felt safe and cared for here. Thank you!

I like this place because of the manager tbh, he always keeps the place organized and assign a tech right away, he doesn’t let people wait that much. However, there are only few techs that i like personally because they are precise and care about the costumer, Nancy and Lynn, they are very sweet and their work is clean, they make sure that you get what you asked for. I don’t like how this place changed their prices after the pandemic however. But the place is clean overall. Better than so many other nail salons.

The lady was rushing me on picking my color, giving me attitude, not helping me in anyway, told me that she couldn’t do the shape I wanted because she already painted even though I told her what shape before she painted, the color is the same color as my skin tone, she did my nails to do her job and get the money not to please and have me satisfied with it. As everyone should we care about what is on our hands I will never come here again it took everything in me to pay them. The manager was beyond rude and when I was explaining what had happened he just kept asking if I was going to pay now.

2020 update. Im never disappointed i must say not all the technicians are equal hower3the majority do a great job. Shout out to Brian!Every single manicurist does a great job, be coming for years, never disappointed. Always busy, recommend an appointment.

MANAGER WAS BEYOND RUDE!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! When I came in there was only 2 people ahead of me but they were quickly called up. I asked how long the wait was & I was told 10 minutes. After waiting for 40 mins & taking other walk-ins before me, I asked the manager why that had happened & told him he let 4+ people ahead of me. The manager basically told me to leave because I was trying to find out why all these people went ahead of me. All customers were walk-ins. As we’re talking, he’s talking over me & being extremely rude. I sat down at the station to finally do my nails, as the manager & I were still talking about the issue which is when he asked if I was okay, I said no because I had been waiting for so long. His response was “then leave”. A paying regular customer was told to leave because I was asking why all this had happened. The manager doesn’t know how to run his business properly. He even had the nerve to go up to my sister & imply that I was lying.I will never return to this salon, nor will anyone I am associated with return to this rude salon

I’ve been coming here for years, there isn’t one place I haven’t tried in the entire metro Detroit area ( I just love pedi’s and Mani’s) and I promise you Connie at tropical is theee best nail tech ever !! Her over lay is so thin and natural not to mention she can shape em anyway u want and the way she paints gel lets em last for a month . Pedicure ? I have never gotta a pedicure the way she cleans my feet, biggest cleaner and most perfect painter ever 🙏🏽♥️

Pedicure was not nothing to write home about it cost few dollars more but you dont get anything special I would only go here as a last result. I didnt like how the ladies doing me and my husband pedicure was talking whole time to each other. I feel when you have customer you should talk to customer if you dont know how to speak English then talking little by little you can learn some words and also teach customer some of the words this is better rather then ingoring customer al together.

I suggest no one goes there they are rude and the guy who did my nails literally drilled the meat off of my finger never going there ever.

I came in today for a set shellac on my real nails mind you it isn’t my first time and I was explaining how I disliked them and there so bulky with all the layers he did but kept going I called back to express I was unsatisfied and they did not care. I’m disappointed.

I don’t like that they don’t use pedicure linerThey don’t use individual tools ( wood pusher and sponge for heels ) for each costumers .. I just felt like I will get an infection here so I decide not to come back . They should care about sanitation... yuck

They did one coat on my nails and told me to leave. Then yesterday I went and they did them horrible. Ive been going here for a while now and this is just now starting to happen.

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! i gave the employee $35 like he asked, and he comes back 2 minutes later and grabs me by my arm and squeezes it and was super rude, THEYRE COMPLETE RIP OFFS!! he wanted an extra $10 when i counted my money before even entering the place! if we were able to give 0 stars i would!!! never going there again.

Most Pathetic overpriced place and the work was ugly

The salon remodeled and added more stations for pedicures and manicures. The technicians are very nice and their work is very clean and long lasting. I always walk out of the salon with a 5 star rating. Highly recommend.

Ive been to tropical nails and spa a few times they do good nails but they do rush at times and a bit rude. Theyre constantly switching no tech for one person. I had a full set done and I had three different people work on my nails just for a full set

First time there and had the worse experience. Been growing my nails for the longest time only to have my nail break two days later. I’ve never had that happen with dip powder but it happened there. The tech was nice but it didn’t seem like he spoke or understood English. I spoke with him a few times and he just seemed lost. He was nice, but bad experience.

My nails shellac starts to chip within a couple days because they don’t put the top coat on evenly to cover all of the shellac. However, one of the nail techs was nice enough to fix it for me for no charge

Went there twice, first time i was satisfied so i wanted to try them again. This time i wasnt very pleased with the service at all. I made an appointment at 5:00 i was there right on time, got in they took my name told me to choose a color and exactly at 6:00 i was called in! Umm what happened to my 5:00 appointment??? Ppl came after me and they took them in, kept telling me to wait cuz rhis customer only gonna do this and that which will be quick. Anyways got my nails done after a long wait, but again, the ladies job that was working on my nails was NOT SO GREAT! The work was done correctly but sloppy as if i came in last minute and she gotta finish quick -__- .... i recommend this place but to go to certain workers. Not anyone works there is great!

Zero stars, place sucks! My acrylic nails have a huge gap between the nail and the acrylic. I called and spoke with the boss (Peter) he said I could come in and get them fixed. I told him I was working late but would come Thursday. I just by chance got off work early so I went in and he was not there, but I explained to another gentlemen what was going on and he called some woman from the back. This woman proceeds to tell me shes the one who did my nails like Im some retard who cant tell Asians apart. I told her she was not the one who did my nails and she argued with me saying she was, this went on for a good few minutes. Then she tells me oh I did your nails like this because theyre short, I told her Im not dumb Ive had my nails done before and theyve always been short and there is never a gap, plus they are chipped already too! thats a perfect way to get a nail fungus. Then she asked who did my nails, uhm thought you said you did my nails?! She then told me to come back and shed tell her as she starts literally pushing me out the door! Seriously I will go back and see the boss but I want a full refund not only because its a crappy job but also because the employees are rude.

Did a normal mani pedi with Cindy. I walked in and they saw me immediately, by far the fastest mani pedi Ive had so far. The application was perfect. I dont know what bullet proof top coat she used but they didnt chip at all, even with the nails I had my peel-off base coat used. No nonsense experience without pointless small talk.

I actually live this nail shop. They are currently under construction right now so the space is kind of small. But overall a great nail shop and more services other than nails are offered.

I had to worst experience today with the man who did my nails. He had a HORRIBLE attitude and shook his head at me because I asked him to fix a nail. I have never wanted to ask someone for a tip back until today. The wait was extremely long too. I mean over an hour. They ran out of seats and people had to stand up or just leave. Also, the building is under construction. I will not return to this place and highly recommend you go somewhere that treats you well and does a better job on your nails. Ugh!

Extremely rude and unprofessional!! I wouldn’t waste my time. I waited 2 hours and when it was my turn the lady doing my nails was very rough and did a sloppy job. I spoke to the manager and he didn’t seem to resolve the issue or offer to fix anything. I asked them to remove everything. The manager than stated that the job was completed and that they can’t do anything about it. I’m very upset and will not be coming back.

I walk in, they didnt even rinse the tub after the person before me. I saw the gentleman file down the nails of a lady next to me who clearly had fungal nails and needed medicine for it, he filed it down with a filer which does NOT get sterilized. I also saw them loading instruments into a sterile bag and then pile it into a side table where another employee grabbed that bag and then took it to use on another customer. I am shocked and appalled. All this btw while I was seated in the pedicure chair for 30 min. Honestly, this place needs to be be compliant with basic health code standards. Im a podiatrist so Im aware of all the possible ways they are transmitting diseases from peoples feet to feet. The thing is you have to have a micro cut to get that stuff which is why not everyone gets it, but it makes a difference! It also takes 6 months of medication to get rid of fungus or god forbid a wart which can be a few years!! Very disappointed.

First time trying it, theyre very busy. Wait wasnt too long. It was decent, I noticed some imperfections which bugged me. Some nails slightly slanted some longer than others. Cant really tell unless you really pay attention. Prices are decent.

I wish there was a rating less than one start, I would have absolutely used it. The owner and the workers are very racist. They made my sister wait for an hour and 30 minutes for a 10 minute service, and that wasn’t the first time they make her wait. They helped other people who came after her and each time she would ask if they would help her she was asked to wait. I work in customer service myself and I know it is not okay to make a customer wait that long no matter what. When I was asking the manager why did they make her wait, he started raising his voice on me that was when I had to yell at them and told them that their customer service was terrible. I’m never going back again neither my sister. I’m also telling all of my friends about the horrible customer service that I have received, and I’ll make sure they won’t go there anymore.

DO NOT COME HERE! I got shellac on wednesday and the polish completely came off all my nails by sunday! My nails bed is ruined and my manicurist sucked! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

They do a great job. Not too expensive. They can be rough sometimes and limited on what designs you can do.

The prices are different every time you come and they get an attitude if you ask them to explain your total. Also they rush your mani/pedi it’s just overall not a relaxing pampering experience.

I was in there today and the man was so rude he made me cry! I sat there for over an hour just to have to pay 20 dollars for someone to be rude to me. I got a pedicure and couldnt even get polish put on because i was too upset and still had to pay! Terrible horrible service.

This used to be my favorite salon in the area, but the service has completely gone down hill. The last two times I went in, they messed up. The nail tech, did not seem to know what he was doing with my shellac manicure. After he put on the final top coat he took a file to the ends once more, which I’ve never experienced after the top coat. I asked him if doing that would still allow the manicure to hold because I was going out of town for a wedding, and he promised me they would. By the 2nd day my nails had started chipping and resulted in my pinky nail getting caught and ripped deep into the nail bed. Really? 2 days and most of that 2nd day involved me sitting in the car for 6 hours.

There is always a wait Especially if you go on the weekends. It’s best to make an appt with a tech that you like doing your nails. The techs that are good it’s hard to get an appt with they are always booked up. They seem to take their time and aren’t in any rush which is nice. I wish techs would introduce themselves when they service clients that way if we did want to make an appt we know who to ask for. The other techs can seem to be rushed in which they can over look the small details that make a huge difference. They don’t have anyone the does designs or nail art which would be really nice. If you want two or more colors they look annoyed and inform you of the additional charge. If it takes too much time to do 3 or more colors then they should invest in the mood changing shellac. As an overall experience everyone for the most part knows what they are doing. I think they could improve on Customer Satisfaction in adding more creative selections of shellac, name introduction of techs, maybe use the tv it’s never on, place them so everyone can see it even the peeps that’s waiting to be serviced it might help them forget about the wait time.

Just went here to get one nail fixed and my color changed and was charged $28, I will never be back. I could have got a new fill with shellac for that price. Don’t bother wasting your money worst pedicure I’ve ever had polish everywhere and rushed painting.
