Pretty cool hotel, nice place but not very busy. Not a real exciting area of the city but we liked it. The rooftop views were epic and the open bell coffee shop nearby was really good with live music. Trinity river area is nearby, Margaret hunt hill bridge is close too. All good things to see In south Dallas!
I moved in March 20 of this year. Sara Lewis is the leasing agent that assisted me. She did THE MOST for me when I was on the market for a new apartment and even now, Sara continues to do the most. She does a great job of keeping me informed as well communicating in an efficient and effective manner. All of the leasing staff Ive dealt with have been helpful and are always kind.Maintenance speed is great for how large the building is.All of my neighbors have also been very friendly.I thoroughly enjoy living here.
I recently moved to this property, and I have nothing but high praise for the property. Excellent professional resident assistance, as well as being extremely welcoming/helpful with any needs you may have. I strongly recommend South Side on Lamar for your living preference as well as recommending Sara Lewis as your property leasing agent. Im totally satisfied 😌
Im going to start first by saying, Im a very new tenant to the community of South side on Lamar. Im opening a new business and Ive had to rely on the concierge desk a lot! Although The concierge desk has been friendly and professional,This one person stands out, Lisa Rider! Lisa has been truly my life saver!! From giving me directions in this huge building, too being extremely helpful, accommodating, and down right pleasant through this whole journey!!! Although I see how busy the concierge desk can be, Lisa never makes me feel like Im a bother, at all. Instead shes consistently going a step further making sure my needs are met! Shes been outstanding. I couldnt be more happy moving into a community with a team like this one! Honestly shes made something that couldve been a very stressful endeavor, a easy and pleasant transition...Thanks againMeke Stephens
Although SSOL has gone through management changes, as a resident, I am satisfied with the staff, facilities, amenities and skyline views at SSOL. Lisa Ortiz works on my floor and does great work providing hospitality at South Side to residents and strangers. She and the other staff are great at keeping the environment clean and spacious.
Betty Lugo has worked at South Side about as long as I have lived here (almost 20 years) She is meticulous in her caring for her spaces and people. I make it my business to say hello and ask about her family, after all, Betty is a part of my family. Thank you Betty for being a team player and taking care of our very big house... South Side.
Sara from Resident Relations has always been fantastic. Always very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend working with her.Marcus from front desk and maintenance crew (specially Donovan) are awesome as well.
I ❤️ this place! South Side on Lamar is HOME. Bodrick has been beneficial and such a blessing to me & my family. He’s always highly insightful, positive, and always leaves us with an inspiring word. He’s always going above and beyond in his interactions with guests & residents from my vantage point. He has made my transition to South Dallas one for the books!!! Keep shining your light, Bodrick! You are a rockstar.
My partner and I moved in to South Side on Lamar from across the street at the South Side Flats and let me tell you how much we are in LOVE!!First of all, the leasing team. They make you feel like you are wanted there, like this is a family. Fitzgerald was our leasing agent and he knocked it out of the park. He went above and beyond to make sure that we got a place here at SouthSide and we didnt have an easy case....at that we got the apartment of our DREAMS!! Not to mention they send more email updates than I have ever imagined about things happening with in the building/ updates on work happening and for that I am so thankful. Sara and Candace also helped us while Fitzgerald was away and they are just as welcoming and wonderful as the rest of the staff. The APARTMENT!!! The rooftop view, the pool, the ping pong table, the hallways to endlessly explore. We could not be more thrilled at the experience of living in this building. I dont know how we will ever leave.Dont forget - Dry cleaning in the building, 2 work out facilities, incredibly nice neighbors and lots of local businesses to support. They really go above and beyond at the South Side on Lamar.
Marcus from concierge is always so sweet and welcoming. He always has a smile on his face.Lisa Ortiz the cleaning lady is always smiling and greeting everyone! And keeps the third floor so clean and smelling good! Love this building!
Love brodrick ! He is always helpful . And truly cares a bout my issues and concerns!!
I’ve lived at southside for 5 years and I don’t plan on moving anytime soon! You can’t beat the price for the square footage! Everyone that works here is so nice and takes care of you like a family 🤗Especially Broderick! Anytime I need ANYTHING he gets it done ASAP! His customer service deserves 20 stars!Love it so much and if you’re looking for a fun, safe and spacious place to live, definitely check out Southside ✨XoKatie@mermaidhairxoOh and I have a boutique at southside too you should check out! @thedalliforniaboutiqueXo
Lisa Ortiz always greets me with a big smile! She is so kind and always willing to help where she can!! I highly recommend living at South Side on Lamar! Customer service even after years of living here is paramount for me!
Gorgeous community, great location and Amazing staff. Lisa Ryder was very sweet, super helpful and made my stay, super easy and amazing. Thank you!
We have been in South Lamar less than a week, but we are loving it! The process to apply and select our unit couldn’t been easier. Candace in the leasing office has been so amazing, attentive and professional. She guided us by the hand through everything and was always ready to answer our questions. With that being said, our first impressions have been 10/10. Can’t wait to get more involved and join the community activities. We are excited to be here
Martha Vallandare is one of the amazing house keepers that keeps south side looking and feeling amazing! Shes always working and greeting me and my dogs as I walk by! Love it here!
Really enjoyed my tour of South Side on Lamar and specifically enjoyed my tour with Fitzgerald Hicks. He was very informative and took his time with us. He gave us history of the building and did not rush the tour. He was very engaged and personable. Have not made a decision yet- but loved how clean the building and the units were that he showed us. Great asset to the community.
Robert Ricks is wonderful! Hes always treated the team at MDPM Consulting so kindly and professionally. He always has a smile and says hi when we pass him in the hallway. He always gets the job done, and we know we can count on him!
The maintenance team is amazing. Robert Ricks in particular has been a life saver. He did s always happy to help and has a smile on his face.
Eric the new manager is absolutely a breath of fresh air. His professionalism is out of this world. It really shows how much he cares for the tenants. The building is the perfect blend of modern and urban style with keeping the old building charm.
Were now on month 4 at SSoL and are extremely happy with our choice to move here. From the initial tour to the leasing process, move in & ongoing maintenance this is an extremely well managed building with friendly staff who care deeply about the space and their residents. The apartments are large & spacious, each one has a little individual character & quirks, and for such a large complex, they are surprisingly quiet & peaceful. And of course, the views are to die for. In all, excellent value for money and a great place to call home.We moved in during the pandemic so, albeit the property is trying hard to create some community events, much of the public-facing allure is understandably shuttered, though thankfully, not the excellent coffee shop & friendly bodega. We are looking forward to experiencing more of the buildings offerings once we get past the virus.
I just want to put in my 2 cents worth that everyone here at SSOL- management, concierge, maintenance- handled last week’s unprecedented freeze event & all the gnarly moving parts involved in that, with grace, goodwill and professionalism.I never felt like my best interests as a resident were not a priority.Even a crabby old lady has to give credit where credit is due.Thank you to all of you.
We love living at South Side! The staff is so friendly, especially Maria - always greeting us and keeping our floor so clean!
I’m a long time resident and and very satisfied with the staff here at SSOL especially Lisa the lady that keeps the 3rd floor nice and clean, she stops mopping to say hello and plays with my puppy!! Come check out the great staff at SSOL!!
Lease renewal was smooth; we were able to address an issue with the refrigerator in a very satisfactory way (Sara Lewis was great to deal with). Management has dealt well with the Snowpocalyse issues (great communication). I enjoy our experience here
Hey guys,I just want to give a quick shout out and express my appreciation for the maintenance crew here at SSOL. Everybody on the team, from Brent to Byron, Donavan and Steven - and the others whose name I dont know - each of them always respond in a timely manner and immediately resolve whatever issue Im having. This past weekend the air conditioner was having a problem - i.e. not really working. I called Marcus who, as always, answered my call with patience and understanding. He said hed send someone over right away. To which I replied: But its Saturday I wasnt expecting Steven to show up at my door not more than 20 minutes later. Steven came in, diagnosed the problem, and got the AC working like new again. He too was super courteous, explained what likely went wrong and what he had done to remedy the situation.I hear all these stories from other folks who live in other buildings around town who have to wait days or weeks to resolve even minor issues. That is simply not the case here at Southside. Our guys are on it. And its certainly another reason why I love living here.Mark /PS - Same goes for the woefully underappreciated cleaning staff who keep the place sparkling. Freddy, Van - the whole crew.
South Side is a place like no other! It’s always felt like home and has a way with its historic charm that you just can’t find anywhere else. My many years here are continuing to grow and each year gets better! Staff is wonderful and the community feel brings so many great neighbors together. Love this place!!
I really liked the retro decor of Southside. Ive looked at several different lofts and really liked the amenities and floor plan. My deciding factor was the awesome customer service that the leasing office gave me every time. Caroline Mally was my leasing agent and she went above and beyond to answer my MANY questions and helped me decide which loft was best for me. She never minded answering my questions or showing me lofts over again or taking pictures and videos for me. Caroline rocks! Her manager was great at helping me with a situation on pricing and internet information. This great customer service is what locked my decision on leasing with Southside on Lamar. Im excited to call Southside my new home!
Lived here basically 3 years. This place is robbery and management raised the rent during the pandemic. Hardly helped with the pandemic situation for residents. Changed the way we were charged for amenities. They had a list of dogs that weren’t supposed to be in the building but did nothing about it. They had an entire mold situation but still felt the need to raise the rent. The management never calls back but will email you later without calling back. Why would you return a call with an email? I will say this place was great when I 1st came in 2017. Edward was great but I believe he’s gone now. The concierge team was phenomenal but this new management is awful and only after money. I know it’s a business but they were basically no help for people in a time of need. They do not treat actual on time paying residents correctly.
With all the rent being paid it would seem that management would be interested in the longevity of the renters lives. Letting mold grow in the AC units causes serious, long lasting, sometimes fatal health issues. This should be first priority. All tenants should get lungs checked out and send the bill to South Side.
Betty Lugo is AMAZINGGGGG....I have watched her work at Southside for sooo many years. ALWAYS SWEEPING, WORKING...she is always SMILING...always CONSISTENT in her daily shores and so nice and pleasant...so glad she is here...SHE MAKES SOUTHSIDE LOOK BEAUTIFUL ALWAYS!!! THANK YOU!!!
Yes, the sidewalk smells like dog urine. Welcome to Urban living. If you can’t handle that then move to the burbs. That has zero to do with this apartment building. Which is an excellent building to live in, with large lofts very reasonably priced, 24 hour concierge, a grocery store, a coffee shop and a wine bar. Staff is excellent and service here is great. Definitely recommend living here. Our leasing agent was Edward and he did an amazing job helping us get into the perfect apartment, and still keeps in touch to make sure all is well. You can’t beat this place.
In the time my company had an office at SSOL (MDPM Consulting) Robert always took care of us, and was there to help in any way possible!
I am at 4 months living here now.My leasing agent was great and he (Fitzgerald) found the perfect loft for me and my situation and I love it.ProsThe place is amazing. The building is clean and well maintained. Front desk is friendly and amenities are better than any place I’ve lived. Maintenance is incredible and normally respond to my service request within 24 hours. But that’s where this ends.ConsThe management is non responsive. You can send emails, call, literally beg to speak to someone to resolve issues and no one replies. There is a major lack of communication on things that are important and over communication on things that have little impact on residents. For instance today (6/11/21) they closed the pool for four hours to decorate for a two hour resident party. They posted on resident portal an hour and 45 minutes before closure but never notified us in advance. Only sent notice there would be a party. It so happens that I took a vacation day specifically to enjoy the 91 degree sun after a solid month of rainy weekends. Had I known in advance I would not have been aggravated because I wouldn’t have wasted a vacation day. That being said closing an amenity to place some inflatable and set up a food station seems a little overboard. We could have all stayed in our chairs and enjoyed the sun while they decorated. Also four hours seems a bit overboard for a two hour party.I’ve overpaid rent and even have an email stating so but can’t speak to anyone because my request for a phone call go unanswered.I haven’t received my referral credit even though I’ve emailed twice requesting info.I’ve had multiple noise complaints (same neighbor) that took 3 months to resolve because I couldn’t speak with someone. Emails and even phone calls to the main office go unanswered. I’ve even sent video so they could see the magnitude of the issue and know that my complaints were not unreasonable.February ice storm broke the ac units. Understandable but on several occasions I requested repair information only to be told every thing that went wrong. I don’t care I just wanted to know when it will be repaired. Turns out my ac was broken this entire time and maintenance only discovered while working on another issue. Had my questions been addressed I would not have been without AC Feb-May.Again the place is amazing but the communication from management is nonexistent and that is truly sad. There is a lack of training/understanding of industry standards. Correcting that issue could make this a 5 star place to live. Also because of the mold discussions and being that I have a rare autoimmune lung disease I had my own mold test conducted and had no elevated spore counts.
I was moving from out of state and decided Id tour Southside on Lamar. I walked in on the fence but after spending just a few minutes with the amazing leasing staff and my leasing consultant Brittany Ramondi I was sold. Brittany was very professional, informative and most importantly radiant with personality. I could tell that she listens well because first she showed me what I wanted to see then she showed me what I said I needed. I was sold when we walked in the door of the loft. Ive since moved in and Brittany has been more than a leasing consultant. She has my tech support, service request tutor and whats what in Dallas advisor. In other words she didnt just lease me a loft and drop me off. Im a handful and she and the on the ball maintenance staff have seen to my every loft need and desire. She is the cherry on the sundae and the super friendly, laid back, helpful neighbors are the extra whip cream. I LOVE it and I truly feel at home not just in my loft but in the building. I now have a new home for Lets TALK University and Im very excited to be living and working at Southside on Lamar.
Wonderful place to live!! When we moved to Dallas eleven years ago we discovered South Side on Lamar and didn’t look anyplace else. This was it. We still feel that way! Love it❤️
Nice place to die I guess with the levels of toxic mold found in the AC system. Do your research people!!
Mold issues that’s pretty gross and dangerous I almost died from that before. That’s a pretty serious issue y’all have.
I have lived at SSOL for 4 years. The concierge is amazing and the layout is unlike any other. Plus... you have a coffee shop and wine bar below you. It truly is my fav place Ive ever lived.
Ive been living here over 5 years. Signed a new lease on today The new management and staff are incredible people. The amenities are out of this world. If you are looking for spacious loft New York historic loft living. I definitely recommend SOUTHSIDE ON LAMAR
Love the amount of space we get for the price. The rich history of the building is our favorite aspects. I love that we are faced towards all the greenery and get to witness the incredible sunsets our great State has to offer. The loft is perfect for setting up your own unique designs and styles and really makes it feel more like a home than any other place weve lived in.
Lived there 3 1/2 years. Management turnover is constant. They reduced all security and when we finally left (06/2020), they were offering NO security for the building at all. In downtown. Vagrants in the basement and panhandlers in elevators. Multiple packages went missing and strangers at all hours trying to open our door. We asked for help but management did not care. The utility bill is now shared with all tenants regardless of usage. Its just a mess. We loved the building in the beginning. This building is currently a disaster.
I urge anyone thinking about moving in this place STOP. THE CHARACTER OF THE BUILDING IS NOT WORTH THE NIGHTMARE OF THE MANAGEMENT THE BUGS IN YOUR UNIT THE CRAWLS THROUGHT THE WOOD FLOORS, THIS PLACE IS RAN ILLEGALLY, THER IS MOLD, THEY BREECH YOUR INFORMATION AND PUT YOUR LIFE IN DANGER. IT IS NOT WORTH IS. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE . ALL THE LONG TIME GOOD TENANTS ARE MOVING OUT BECUASE OF ALL THIS. AND ITS BECOMING GHETTO ...GO ELSEWHERE. OH AND WHEN YOU MOVE OUR THEY WILL ILLEGALLY CHARGE NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR AND TRY AND KEEP YOU SECURITY DEPOSIT LIKE $30 TO CLEAN YOUR TOILET BOWL.
We love living at Southside on Lamar! And we wished we would have moved here sooner. Two years ago we decided to sell our house, after 14 yrs in the suburbs, and move somewhere exciting and less maintenance. After speaking and touring with our AWESOME leasing agent, Arik Logan, for 4 hours, we were in love with this area, property and yeah, Arik too!Our neighbors are super nice and SSOL associates are great! No more home and pool maintenance for us! It feels like we have been vacationing in downtown Dallas 🌴 for two years!
Recently moved into the Southside community. After visiting the building and seeing a unit and the entire property I was excited and cautiously optimistic about my decision to officially move in. My unit and the ensuing days of official residency confirm that I made a great decision. The staff are all very attentive, courteous and professional. The building has SO much to offer and the units and views are top notch. Best bang for your buck in Dallas. Warehouse / Industrial meets modern and artsy.Perfect
I heard SSOL is section 8 government assistance? I try and pay my bills with all 3 jobs I have. Do I get help from SSOL? Southside flats is now section 8 as well. The cedars is the highest crime rates in Dallas. Your car insurance will go up if you live here.
Sara Lewis at South Side on Lamar was a pleasure to work with. I decided on another location due to personal reasons, but loved every part of my experience with Sara and South Side.
I am in love!! My loft is absolutely perfect and so are all my neighbors! Leasing office and maintenance are so prompt! No complaints at all..
We love this place!!!! Never want to move!!!! Girlfriend daughter and 2 dogs are living the best times of our lives!! The building is awesome with a fantastic view of downtown!!!! We don’t have to leave to have fun with every thing the building has to offer!! The leasing agent EDWARD was super awesome gave the best tour and is always one call away when we need him!!!! He showed us the roof top pool, game room, theater, winery pub, deli, coffee shop and much more!!! We also feel very safe since Dallas police headquarters is across the street. Thanks Edward you’re the best!!!!!
My boyfriend and I had a full itinerary of viewings for an apartment. Our first stop was South Side on Lamar. We were treated very kindly and loved the people and the place so much we decided to lease and cancel all of our other showings. Shout out to Broderick who showed us around and gave me a candle for our new place. He carried himself with great professionalism and hope that the property manager reads this because you have an amazing staff and building :) There is also an attached wine bar.. need I say more?
The whole staff is amazing! So nice, helpful, and knowledgeable! I had the pleasure of working with Dimitri and he is absolutely the best! Always super hands on and his communication is amazing! I highly recommend this building to anyone looking for a new home! The community is super cute and everyone is so nice! Thank you Southside on Lamar, Dimitri, and all the amazing staff!
The issue with the energy usage and how they are going about allocating that is pretty unfair, but overall everyone is nice and Very helpful. They go above and beyond to assist their residents when in need. Broderick, Nancy, Derrick, Jay, D, Lisa and everybody are really helpful.
In complete Transparency this is a cool building with lots of character.. Im torn about management because of some recent changes in how they allocate your electric usage based upon square footage size and not usage. This is place has tons of Buisness in the units(hair salons that pull electricity)small businesses are great. But the method is unfair and I was not unaware when signing my lease although it was already in the works.. The parking situation for Guest and Vistors is really inconvenient however its worth the sacrifice for the amazing things that come along with the building. But aside from that BRODERICK in the Leasing office is amazing, attentive and truly looks out for the residents. The concierge is by far the best concierge I have ever met. MARCUS, the sweetest most professional guy you would ever meet. DERRICK AND LISA make you feel like family and all of them always greet you with a Smile... Also the Amenities are great the pool is always peaceful and its so large perfect for lap swimmers like myself. And the Game Room is pretty darn cool. Lastly I love living in a place where people actually say hello . The residents are so very friendly. And the dogs I run across in the hallways are adorable.
Brodrick at South side on Lamar did an amazing job helping us find exactly what we wanted in an apartment home. He assisted us and gave us amazing service from the second we walked in and he continues to provide us with quick and courteous support. The atmosphere is amazing, creative, and full of energy and the people inside also reflect that. If youre moving to Dallas or already in the area I definitely recommend these apartments.
I’ve been apartment shopping again and checked these out. The variety of unit types was super cool and the place has a lot of character compared to many I’ve looked into. I’m keeping it on my short list. Thanks Alex for all the helpful info.
Absolutely love living here. Edward from leasing was and still is extremely helpful for the downtown living transition. He goes above and beyond what normal leasing agents would do to make residents feel welcomed. Thank you Edward, perfect example of amazing customer service. You’re appreciated.
Down to the property, location, and especially staff, this is a great place to live! I had the pleasure of dealing with Dimitri K, the property manager, on a minor issue. He was very pleasant, professional, and took care of my issue right away. His follow up was outstanding as well.
This place is so unique and fun to live! The amenities that are available to you, you wont be able to find anywhere else. Edward in the leasing office is THE best there is. Ive never experienced someone in the leasing office becoming someone I consider a friend before Edward. He made moving in easy and hassle free and is literally always there to respond to any questions or concerns you have. I cant say enough good things about this place and the people here. Definitely recommend!
Looking for a place to live can be very personal and confusing, with so many apartments across Dallas it’s difficult to find the right fit. I had the great pleasure to take a tour with James. He is very knowledgeable and beyond friendly, truly a delight. I’ve looked at countless properties and much like his namesake James Bond is a step above the rest. Pretty easy on the eyes as well.
Beautiful building, awesome floor plans, and the best value for your Dollar. If you are looking to call this place home, ask for Candace. She is awesome! Friendly, helpful, and will make you feel valued and welcomed.Best leasing agent in the Dallas area by far.
This is THE place to live! There are so many things to do and experience and our leasing agent, Edward, made the whole process of moving and getting settled in very easy! Someone who I considered my leasing agent has now become a very good friend. The building is a historic and exciting place all at the same time.
The building itself is cool. However the management does nothing when it comes to fixing noise complaints and doesn’t even return calls or emails.I would not recommend this place as this is by far the worst property management company I have dealt with.Update: been 2 months since they wrote that and still nobody has followed up. On top of all that every time i have tried to speak to the manager she is locked inside her office and never follows up.
Love this place! Dimitri and the leasing staff are all so nice and always willing to help. I am so happy to call this place home. Great views and great location!
The property is amazing! All of management is very responsive and knowledgeable. Alex Bocanegra is so easy to work with, and super helpful. Definitely check this place out.
The staff at South Side on Lamar are awesome employees!! James Bond was gracious enough to show me a one bedroom unit without an appointment the day after Christmas. He was very knowledgeable of the historic background of the building itself. If you are going to view this complex be sure to ask for Bond.. James Bond! :-)
This place is awesome and the best part is the people! Dimitri and his staff always take care of me and make me feel welcome. Absolutely would recommend the building to anyone looking for a place to live in Dallas!
I just have to brag on Edward in leasing. From the very first time we met him he was so warm, enthusiastic, and beyond helpful. He has catered to our needs from day one....and he isn’t even our leasing agent! Every time I see him he gives me a big hug and asks about my day. The best way to describe him is “Jolly”! I know that he is not just like this with my husband and me...I have seen him treat everyone this way, no matter if they are his resident or not. We have lived at Southside since Aug and it was a big transition for us. Everyone from concierge, maintenance, and leasing have been wonderful. We love it here!
Ive always wanted to live at the South Side on Lamar and working with Edward made that dream happen. From the time I walked in until the time the tour was over, Edward was phenomenal giving the tour, answering questions, and making it feel like home even before I applied. I truly appreciated this experience and Im glad I can now call South Side on Lamar my home. Thanks Edward.
Alex & all the staff are so amazing! Everyone is so friendly & knowledgeable. The building is everything you can imagine. I fell in love w the rooftop & I can’t wait to spend the summers here!
We moved in 3 weeks ago and I have loved it so far. There is a fun community here. Edward was super helpful during the process and I highly recommend asking for him!
This place is an amazing place to live in and we love it!!!!I’ll have to give credit to Edward for being so professional and extreamely helpful!! He made sure to show us what this place has to offer. The staff is very helpful and all are amazing! I highly recommend this place to anyone!!! Thank you Edward you’re amazing!!
My review has to start with my move out experience yesterday with the leasing staff. Mark & Desiree went above and beyond to make my transition as easy and professional as possible. We moved from Phoenix to Southside because we didnt know where we wanted to buy, and it was for the most part, a great experience. I love Marcus at the front desk who goes out of his way to make life easier for the residents. He is the definition of professional. I always felt safe because the Yellow Jackets do a great job. I love the location and the restaurants near by and access to the DART. You absolutely cant beat the beauty and the uniqueness and character of the lofts. The pool is great and the view of the city from the roof is amazing. The only downside is the dog problem. Many, many dog owners do not pick up after their pets and it smells and is disgusting. We are moving because we did not want to stay in apartment living and we wanted to buy our first home in Texas.
Edward has been amazing from the very beginning. From our first meeting to the walkthrough of our unit to the signing of the lease. Every question I have had he has been quick to answer. The tour he gave was really what sold us on the building and we can wait to move in a few weeks! We joke to our friends that we’re going to be living in a building that has its own little town below.
Edward F was my leasing agent and to this day I can still depend on him to talk to. He’s always available and with a smileI love this place.... mainly because of Edward. His professionalism yet kindness and patience is second to none.
Steve in maintenance has completed several service requests in my lofts here at South Side. He is always a great pleasure to work with. He is highly professional and efficient at everything that he does. Please keep him here at South Side because he is an asset to your property!
This is a really great property, and I wanted to give a shout out to James Bond in the leasing office. He was knowledgable, no BS, and was a very helpful guide during a stressful process. Definitely one of the best agents weve encountered in Dallas.
I love this place. The building is cool. Everytime I stop in there I see something new and cool to take photos of. Today a resident showed me his loft. It was huge. I was told the lofts are from 1500 to 3000 sq ft.
I am currently in a business loft down in the Artist Quarters that Ive been operating for over a year. If I ever need anything done and executed, I go directly to Edward and Dimitri. There is no other people that go above and beyond. Edward is attentive and charismatic and will always have your best interest at heart.
Omg 😂😂😂🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰I ❤️❤️the spa place they was all very nice people to me the owners and workers there are very sweet people and make u feel sooo good omg
Very trendy and open concepts (some without doors) a very unique experience! There are some great hangout spots close by, one of my favorites the absinth lounge. Also from time to time you will see productions being shot, which is really fun. Just a unique experience.
I love living in southside on Lamar ! The first apartment I viewed I ended up getting thanks to Edward ! He helped me and my sister with so much and made the process a breeze. He is very helpful and still is, if we need anything that’s who we call . If you don’t know Edward you missing out !
Southside on Lamar is such an amazing place to be! The culture for the residents and staff is welcoming always executed in such an excellent manner. The character of the building invites you in at every single turn. I cant say enough about the personable and professional staff led by Dimitri Kritikos it is certain he motivates them to provided the best service to guest and residents. The views at South Side on Lamar are simply breathtaking. I am constantly referring people to check it out and live here. If I were able to give 20 stars I would definitely give South Side on Lamar 50! Keep up the great work.
I thought I loved this place when I first moved in, but learned over time it’s a nightmare. They lost MANY of my packages, one that had a ton of stuff in it and was worth at least $300. It showed they signed for it but they “lost” it. There’s always dog urine or dog poop in the stair cases. I know this is not their fault, just pointing it out. The elevators break all the time. Oh and there’s definitely mold, lots of mold. I was sick the entire time I lived there. Stay away unless they completely tear down and rebuild.
Besides the building being unique I will say managment isnt all that great. The building reeks of dog urine in the common areas which has been a big complaint amongst tenants. Ive been living here for 7 months and sadly I will not be renewing my lease once its up.
Management is terrible. You want to be treated like an idiot who deserves no respect? Live here. Beautiful places that are now way to costly for normal people to live in them. They tried to raise our rent $900 a month after new management took over, no answers the phone, forget getting things fixed in a timely manner, and when you move out, theyll charge for stuff that didnt exist or was there when you moved in.
Recently toured the building, was very skeptical about moving somewhere Downtown but fell in love with the building and all of the amenities that are accessible to the residents. Making the move as soon as my current lease is up. Edward was very helpful and knowledgeable regarding any questions I had.
Went on a tour of the property recently and had Brodrick Finch as our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the property and everything that pertained to the building. I highly recommend scheduling a time to meet with Brodrick if you are looking to move there, or wanting to learn more about the amenities included.
I had the opportunity of meeting one of the staff members Brodrick and he was awesome. I have recommended Southside to all my friends looking for a spacious place to call home.
As an artsy person myself its an artist mecca. People can live in the back room of their business. How cool is that.
Ive wanted to live at Southside since I was old enough to lease an apartment. Ive viewed it more than once with hopes of moving in but life always managed toget in the way. Well, this last time my experience was so phenomenal I couldnt say no. The leasing agent, Edward, took his time with me. Lord, I bugged this poor man to death with calls and emails. He was always pollute and professional. He was extremely knowledgeable in regards to the building history and amenities. He was vibrant and eclectic representation of the South Side community. He won me over. The lease is SIGNED and I cant wait to move in for the new year!!!
I love the building and the atmosphere but the management does not take serious complaints seriously. Our neighbors are a complete nightmare and there has been nothing done to remedy the situation even after numerous complaints with proof. We have filed numerous noise complaints on our neighbors who have late night parties/shows in their apartment- complete with professional sound systems and full bands (I have seen the equipment in person.) We even have video proof of the noise they make and how loud it is. They also smoke weed in their apartment daily and it comes through the vent to our home, making our entire house smell of weed. I have a newborn baby and this is completely unacceptable, as the smell is mostly concentrated in his room and his bathroom. Although my husband and I have complained multiple times, we have gone unanswered through emails and clearly nothing has been done to make our neighbors stop because the noise and smell continues. They are clearly in violation of their lease by continuing to smoke in their apartment and clearly in violation of community rules with the late night noise- yet nothing has been done. I can’t believe I even have to consider calling the police on my neighbors but because the management hasn’t done anything to remedy the situation, I might actually have to go that route.
The staff is always very friendly and gets work orders done in a timely manner
Horrible new manager that likes to harass women that are holding their newborn and walking their dog. Going into my 3rd year living here and now we just want to move!!! Good job Bill Burk!To your response, are you really going to say you care about us and you provide us with a place to walk our dogs on Austin Street!! Either youre joking or you really just dont care. Incase you havent been to Austin Street recently Ill describe it to you and attach a picture I took this morning. Large piles of dog crap everywhere, broken glass, beer bottles, fallen down construction signs, rocks, dirt, trash and just smells of urine. So thank you allowing us to use this area you so kindly provide. Its not that hard, you make hundreds of thousands of dollars off us tenants, all you have to do is spend a little of that money to fix it. Close one side of the street and install grass. Then close the other side and install grass, then just maintain it. I mean why else did I pay a big pet deposit and monthly pet rent. Do something or I will report this as a health hazard to the city.
Where do I start. Nightmare. Office staff- terrrible. Condescending, inconsiderate, non responsive. Maintenance- the sketchiest team I’ve ever experienced. They access your apartment un announced, and without request. I noticed items out of place, I work long hours came home recently and had valuables stolen. I requested key logs to see who was in my unit and it listed several members of maintenance in and out of my unit and odd times without request- usually right after I leave. I’m horrified. Ask if I got call back from Melissa the new manager to mitigate? No. So I called upper maNagement, Amanda.. no response STILL after 3 voicemails regarding police, internal maintenance team stealing from me, forensics, resident unsafe... no concern to call back as a PAYING RESIDENT. Let’s not even begin to mention the dog pee and poop everywhere, the old outdated appliances and cabinetry and the basic-ness of these “luxury lofts”. Run. The. Other. Way. Fast.
I havent moved in yet but I can tell you that Nicole in the leasing office is as good as it gets. I couldnt have asked for anyone better to help me decipher all of the paperwork and see all of the lofts. Renting a place is a big deal and she was such a breath of fresh air. I couldnt be happier with my decision to move into SSOL and it wouldnt be the same without Nicoles help.
Arik was phenomenal and he sold us. The place speaks for itself. Huge floorplans and luxurious historical living for less. In love with the place!!!!
After waking up and dealing with 1.5 hours of traffic to make my tour appointment that never happened. Roderick literally told me the unit I had chosen was not available to view then took out a piece of paper to explain layout. I requested to atleast see pictures which he haphazardly showed with no enthusiasm. I asked questions about amenities with hopes he would atleast take the initiative and show me! I was given no brochures or pamplets to provide property info. I literally got treated as if he had no intentions of me becoming resident. Sad part is I wanted to live here for years up until the tour...that never happened! I will graciously put a 2 only because management did try to do damage control via email. I hope no one else has to experience this type of dismissive treatment!
Their moldy apartment caused my friend to have upper respiratory infections and costed her 10k in medical bills, furniture, and cloth expenses.
The Staff is awesome and very kind on A daily basis!
