I have been reading all these reviews. Wish I would have read them before I moved here. Overall I like it here. I asked for the ac to be checked . Which they did and said 80 degrees is normal. I have to disagree. The hallway is cool . One of my neighbors had his door open and cool air was coming out . For the last 2 day it has been over 90degrees. I cant continue like that . I chose this place because it said it had ac. . If it doesnt then dont advertise it as such. . If If cant be fixed we may have to look into relocating ourselves to an complex that has ac
If you military or even just a family do not move here. They are nothing but slum lords. The management here and even the repair men are trash they do the bare minimum to fix things. I live here for 3 years and 2 out of 3 years my heat did not work. I wish I could give them zero stars. If your ok living in a slum then this place is for you. They also consistently raised the rent every year. So dont let the low rates trick you. You will get what you paid for. Trash 🗑
After living in this complex for a year, I would not recommend this property. Overall, the property is poorly managed at multiple levels. The first issue I had, was my payment being lost although it was paid in full and on time. The building is old and the units are cheaply renovated. The hallways are constantly littered with trash. The small elevator is frequently inoperable. Due to the old plumbing, water is shut off with little notice, with the longest time lasting two days. During the winter, people are often found roaming the halls and sleeping. The laundry facilities are constantly dirty with laundry leftover. Last year, a fire was intentionally set in the laundry room. For those who are looking at this property for the pet friendly advertisement, think again. The dog park is small and not picked up after. The Paw Spa is a frequent home for vagrants and trash. The surrounding property is full of feces from dog owners who do not clean up after their pets. The pool and spa area is typically occupied by unsupervised children. Additionally, the hot tub area is surrounded by broken glass and cigarette butts. Further, the parking lot has several inoperable vehicles and is full of debris including used needles. If you contact the leasing office, you will likely speak to Ashley who is overall enthusiastic and helpful. Additionally, the maintenance department recently hired a woman named Christy who seems to be tightening up the property. The proximity to the University Village shops is a convenient amenity. Hopefully the property can be better maintained in the future and the communication from the property management can be improved. Until then, I would not recommend this property.
We love living here and have lived here for 13 years. There are 2 things that we have issue with. First, is folks who allow their dogs to defecate on the property and dont clean up after them.Second (and last) is that the pool is not used within the rules, so those of us who can only use it after 8PM, can not. This needs to change, because we pay a LOT in rent. Those folks who allow giant parties/glass/alcohol, should be reprimanded only.Beyond that, we love the office staff and our neighbors.
The apartment complex website says they are a “resort” type living area. They are lying. There is trash overflowing from the dumpsters almost constantly. Broken bottles, cigarette butts, and general trash all over the grounds of the complex. The dog Park is a joke. The management is nice but can’t do anything but give a fake apology for any issue (cuz they don’t care and neither does the corporate office since they are making a profit) They will literally never hold people accountable for their actions here. They just let people trash the complex. The pool/hot tub are always gross. Please don’t look into the pool bathroom. If you use it please wear sandals. My spouse got a skin infection from the water. The maintenance people are the best people of the complex because they get things done if they can. If you have an issue they can’t fix good luck getting it fixed. It’ll never happen. Management simply gives a fake apology as a bandaid. Even after fighting tooth and nail. They won’t even lower rent for the inconvenience until it’s fixed. It’s a joke. You might be asked if you want to move to a different unit. They are more into putting bandaids over issues instead of fixing them. If you also want laundry done? Good luck on that too! You’ll Have to share two washers and two dryers(when they work) with 24 families. You’ll have better luck at the laundry mat AND it’ll be cheaper in the long run. Best wishes and run If you can.
Counting the days until my lease is up at this point. My apartment had so many issues when I first moved in that were never fixed, and that I reported and maintenance never shows up to fix anything. The managers just sit in the office are nice to your face and once your not in there bothering them they never help you or fix the problems. My apartment keeps flooding every time my upstairs now it’s use water, and they still haven’t come to fix it no matter how much times I report it and the people above me are evicted. Shows how much they care about the people who live here and actually pay rent. This place is a trap. Don’t move here if you’re trying to live a nice life. Nothing but stress and misery here .
Very happy with staff, apts are nice but..... this is advertised to have AC and...... it does have something resembling AC. However, it is not the residents option as to when it works. They choose when to switch the system from heat to AC. This year they switched it the 1st of September. The sun heats up the roof tops and cooks the apts and they wont do anything about it. So... as long as you are aware the AC part of the ad is not as transparent as it seems, based on my otherwise experiences here, I think these are fairly decent apts. Love the grounds, pool area beautiful, BBQ area amazing. Just wished AC was up all year long, or at least longer than what they offer.
MY CEILING IS LEAKING AGAIN, MY APARTMENT IS FLOODING AGAIN, AND GUESS WHOS NOT GONNA FIX IT AGAIN! NEVER RENT FROM THIS SLUM!
I have been calling for several days and have been unable to leave a message or get anyone to answer the phone. What kind of business are you operating there.
They may say this place is professionally managed, but nothing about my encounter with their leasing office was professional. After signing a lease and preparing a deposit for a move in- this complex went completely ghost on my roommate and I, rendering me homeless currently. On move in day, no staff was there to give me my keys. After many attempts to contact them and waiting outside their leasing office for hours- they have yet to contact me, despite confirming my move in date several times prior to the day. Havent even moved in yet and would definitely NOT recommend this place to anyone.
Application process has been amazing, friendly staff and the entire process has went very smoothly. Clean apartments. Staff answered all questions I had. Im so excited to move in!!!
This place sucks, management literally does nothing here it seams. Theres always trash laying in the hall ways, quite hours are nonexistent and unenforced, the washer and dryers are expensive and usually broken for weeks on end (see pic for proof). If you like to do a lot of drugs and underage drinking until 3am on your porch then this is the place for you otherwise pick anywhere else to live.
I moved here on a short timeline to find a place and I chose University Village for the spacious layout, affordable rent, and location. The water has been turned off multiple times since I moved in a month ago, and the heat has been off for almost a month now as well. The lack of communication around this has been appalling. There has been no communication around when access to the front entrance of our building or the rear parking lot will be restored, when the heat will be fixed, if there will be compensation for the electric bill or refunds of rent for the ridiculous inconveniences theyve put their residents through over the last month.Overall, there are a lot of little things that are just not maintained well - the fitness center equipment is sub-par and is always out of wipes to wipe down equipment after use, the hot tub has leaves and dirt in it, the hallways smell like cigarettes and pee and the carpets are dirty, the wash basin in the laundry area is clogged with dirt and stagnant water, the areas around the complex are covered in dog poop, the list goes on. Im sure some of the issue is just trashy tenants, but management could definitely do a better job setting and enforcing a standard of cleanliness. Im glad Im only in a six month lease. For a little more rent, I could have been renting somewhere much nicer. Avoid this place. Ive found Ashley at the leasing office to be friendly and helpful, but other than that and the location, this place doesnt seem to have much going for it.
The 1 bedroom building is disgusting. Smells like cat urine and dog feces. Been without heat for 5-6 weeks in November and December. Given a small space heater. Requested to be let out of lease to be able to them get a new rental yet no one ever called me back regarding this matter.
This property is great! The amenities this place offer are fantastic! Love the pool and hot tub! The management and maintenance staff are honestly the best people ever! I would recommend this property to anyone who wishes to live in this great community! Don’t even get me started on the view! When I wake up In the mornings I get a million dollar view! What more can you ask for?
We visited several places in a two week span looking for a new apartment to rent. This was hands down. the most positive experience we have had. The staff was so helpful answering every question we had and they even gave us personal tours of our new apartment. The amenities are great & the location is ideal. I would recommend this apartment complex to everyone.
Advenir at The Village is one of the top choices for apartments in Colorado Springs. All around the area, you get what you pay for, and with rent you pay here, you will not be disappointed. Ive lived here for about half a year and have had a wonderful experience. The staff is amazing, always friendly and helpful in the office and maintenance staff always says hi to me in the morning and gets work orders done the day of. The property is kept very clean and is well kept inside and out. I love having a balcony and the views I get of Pulpit Rock and I also love how much space I get in every room (they have also have a lot of extra storage space). Plus its conveniently located to everything you need. I dont have any complaints.I have a one year old daughter, but strongly recommend this complex to any students or families alike.Thank you Advenir staff! Keep up the great work! :-)
The heat has been out for almost a month and a half. We were provided with one space heater which is absolutely insufficient, no matter the copy and pasted response that is given here about testing the heaters. It is absolutely not enough for our unit. We can only keep one room warmed at a time while the other drops to 50-60 degrees. That is not sufficient heating. We were given a 45 minute email notice about the construction crew closing the road to our parking lot, and as that is entirely insufficient notice, my vehicle is now stuck in the parking lot. The only available entrance to our building is an icy steep hill which I have struggled to get through many times on my own, let alone with groceries or items to carry. There are many elderly tenants in our building who I have seen struggling to get over this hill. It is unacceptable. We moved in this April, and since that time three tenants have been evicted from our hallway, one of them arrested twice while we were here. A few months ago, there was a trail of blood up the stairway that has yet to be entirely cleaned up by the maintenance crew, despite our confronting the office about it. There are STILL bloodstains on the walls. The water often completely shuts off. Many tenants are considering legal advice on the best way to proceed in withholding their rent, and as are we. Please dont waste your time with this apartment complex. While many of these issues are out of the control of the management, their lack of hospitality and attention to these matters has been appalling.Additionally, we signed on with this complex because we were taking over another tenants lease at a discounted rent price of $825. When we received our first bill, it was $1,117.00. The list of additional costs was HUGE with small vague charges that we couldnt find the reason for. Our discounted lease ended with them in November, and we resorted to month-to-month for the time being (as we knew we did not want to remain here) which was supposed to be around $1,000 per month. Upon receiving our first month-to-month bill, it was the same cost as before, without the long list of random charges. We have been scammed into paying the regular rent amount despite our original discounted rental agreement. We are were horrified and immediately regretted our choice to move here within the first month of being tenants. It has been an unfortunate experience.
The water is turned off almost 2-3 times a month without any notice. There is always maintenance or a break. They do not keep the hallways and laundry rooms clean and the rent is always increased. I dont judge the people that live here but you can catch a couple police cars here every couple of weeks. The area is great but these apartments suck. DO NOT MOVE HERE!
Just moved in here. I’m enjoying it. It’s not perfect but I can tell they are working on making it better. It’s only going to get better from here. Our unit looks recently remodeled and is nice.
Weve been in our apt since May 2019 and I have to say that the individuals who run this place need better leadership/bosses. This place is a mess. Pipes are old, heating system was in disrepair (and had our building apts with only one or two small space heaters for close to 2 months) along with lack of landscaping and parking lot maintenance. Hallways and basement floors are disgustingly filthy. It appears there are no Landlords but, Slumlords instead. Ashley, at the leasing office, has been friendly and helpful, but other than that and the location, I too would not recommend these apartments to anyone I know. Dont do it...
So... the price is Right!!... hey when I moved in (June)the first set of staff members were great, but by (November) some of the new staff just don’t seem to be able answer any questions . There are tenants who stay up til 2am, I have neighbors who rough house at all times running into the walls, the noise from the 2nd floor sounds like they are bowling, and then folks are arguing at 3am, and then there are random times the water is shut off all day. if you wanna live like you’re apart of animal house then this is the place for you!!!!
Great place to live, the grounds offer a lot of entertainment for the family, Disk golf, centralized playground with ample land, trails and hanging Pod swings by the BBQ. I have to remind myself that I should leave once and a while but a big save on gas if you like outdoor entertainment. Management is thoughtful and usually handle issues with professional courtesy. Worth the expense
I lived there for 10yrs. They cater to the college and not the normal residents. Pool is constantly broken into in the middle of the night. Constant parties and you never get sleep or the rest you need. Now they have no heat. You pay 5 star rent in 1 star conditions. Worst place to live EVER!!!
I have lived in these apartments for 5 years. I have seen THREE management turnovers and the University Village Apartments’ management is awful. The maintenance staff does not have enough people to deal with serious problems. Sure, they can fix minor leaks and lightbulbs but when it comes to communal laundry room plumbing or infrastructure they lack the capability to deal. The building I live in had ONE working washer for months while they attempted to deal with old plumbing. I understand that these apartments were built circa 1960 but if your maintenance staff does not have the comprehension, resources or whatever to fix a serious problem then outsource. I would ask the office staff for updates on big maintenance issues like this but would never get any answers. Oh, forgot to mention that my neighbors reportedly saw the homeless going through dryers and stealing clothes. This side of town is gentrifying and rent costs are rising all over Colorado Springs but a recent lack of good service, after the University Village takeover, is keeping this place from being worth what the rent is.
Worst place to live! DO NOT MOVE IN!! I wish I would have been warned before moving in. Im doing you all favor. It was problem after problem at these apartments from the beginning all the way to the end. Not worth the price even with the convenience of the shopping center. Poor management the apsolute WORST very rude and snobby. The maintenance crew is lazy and the only thing they are good for is driving around in the golf cart with one foot hanging off the side. I could say so much more but the review only allows so much typing space.
Not the best place to live. Most very clean. The walls are paper thin and people blasting music for no reason. Glad I am moved out. I do not recommend these apartments you will be disappointed!
Our first room smelt like cat urine and cigarettes so bad we had to switch rooms, water is shut off at lease once to twice a month, hallways are dirty, laundry room is dirty, been without heat for over a month now, gave us a small office space heater that isn’t even adequate for one room of our apartment. It was 7 degrees outside last night and my whole apartment was still cold with the tiny space heater they gave us and the room space heater that I purchased myself. Not to mention the little space heater can’t even be plugged into the outlet in the bedroom because it blows the breaker! They are telling me they tested the heater but I’m sure it was between 9am-5pm and not at night when it actually gets cold outside. It’s just disappointing that the manager, Brett, doesn’t care and he just says the heaters work and they will give us another one if we need it and that’s that. Just don’t even bother wasting your time with this apartment complex. Everyone I have talked to about this place is just waiting for the lease to end to get out. The response they give to these reviews are a joke, they try to make themselves sound good but the people in the office could care less about the renters. I tried to get in contact with the owner and I was told I can’t have his phone number and that he doesn’t talk to residents.
The heating has been off for over a week and management estimates it could be until December 12 by the time it is fixed. Until then we have been given space heaters that they say are sufficient, but really need to be left on all the time to maintain a temperature of about 60 degrees in one room. It has been one problem after another and every time management takes their time getting it fixed and is disrespectful. When we first moved in there was flooding from upstairs, but it was apparently usable, according to the manager. I cant use a toilet if theres a waterfall above it and I have to trudge through an inch of water to get to it, especially when the plumber initially told us it was from the upstairs toilet. We received no compensation from management apart from a laundry card that had barely enough on it for one load and we have been told that there will be no compensation for the heater being out, despite the space heaters increasing our electricity bill and there having already been two snow storms since the heating went out. We have lived here about three months and those are just some of the major issues, there are plenty of small ones as well.
Personal experience with any rental property is a function of context and human interactions. The office staff at Advenir at the Village is exceptional. They are friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and caring. The context for evaluating rental property is threefold: location, amenities, and age of the property. The Advenir at The Village location is superior, with immediate access to outdoor trails and open space and proximity to shopping, UCCS, and downtown Colorado Springs. Amenities are in keeping with comparable rentals. The property is very old, which means glitches are to be expected. As to that, the staff does an excellent job of responding to problems. Considering location, amenities, and property age, the price is too high but about right when factoring in the huge problem endemic to Colorado Springs: the rental market is tight and property owners are being typical, greedy capitalists Its too bad that they dont value long-term relationships, by (for instance) offering renewal discounts or long-term leases for discounts. When the market turns, these greedy capitalists will discover that by not building long-term relationships with residents, they will get screwed like theyve been screwing renters.
Slumlords. Water goes out at least once every two weeks without any warning. Our rent has been increased 3 separate times also without explanation. Constantly doing shady tactics and making it difficult to get out of this place. Buildings are nice but not worth it.
We had our apartment that had a massive flood. they moved us to a new apartment which we thought was awesome we only had to wait a month so let they us keep our belongings in previous apartment came back later to move in to new apartment more then half of our belongings were gone all my kids toys and cloths, mine and my girlfriends cloths and bed were gone. The new building they moved us into had water raining under there laundry room every other day for 6 months never fixed until now when they did the fix on the plumbing our apartment had water poring Down the wall once again there was a whole in the wall a little larger then my hand. on the opposite side of the wall they were doing asbestos removal (while hole was in our wall) I could see through where they working they just covered it up a day later with a board and said they’ll be back in a week to fix it I have children 1 and 3 and just feel very uncomfortable with how we have treated for the last 6 months we have had no help with the office nor managment every time we try contacting the office it’s very frustrating they tell us to contact the manager because she is done dealing with us since it is an ongoing issue. This is our first time on our own renting and it’s been such a terrible experience on top of this our cars have been broke into with broken windows multiple times
I have been living here since before the transition from Sunset Creek to Advenir and I cant believe the changes in the community. Since Advenir has taken over they have been upgrading everything from the actual units to the amenities they provide. The front office has 3 of the nicest employees I have ever met and even when I went through a couple months where I had to spread my rent out they were understanding and willing to do anything to help. Rafael and the whole maintenance team are incredible, and if you have any issues they are quick to respond and always more than happy to be able to help. I can honestly say these are the best apartments I have lived in.
My AC has not been working for a month and have put in several work orders, the hallways smell like piss nobody cleans or maintains them. We started renting in another building but got flooded with six inches of water, we had to move all of our belongings and were never reimbursed for the time we had to take off work or rent,w were even charged an additional deposit. The apartment we are currently in had no water for aerveral weeks as well.
My name is Mary McGarvey my phone shows Jonah. Anyway, I just wanted to say I loved my experience at Advance at the Village! Its a fantastic complex especially if you have children. The staff is wonderful! They are all very nice & understanding. If you are looking for a great apartment to live in this is it! Bonus the bike path has access from the complex as well!
Awesome place, with an unbeatable view! Staff are very friendly and work orders are handled almost immediately. Great pool and gym too!conveniently located as well, by all the essential shopping/restaurants.
0/10 would not recommend.
This place has got to have the friendliest and most knowledgeable staff Ive ever met. The new company has really cleaned things up, and added some awesome amenities- Ive never seen an apartment complex check out hammocks for resident use! The location is amazing too- walk across the street to just about anything you need!
Water gets shut off all the time without notice. Sometimes for many hours at a time. Happens multiple times a month. Pretty terrible when you need to get ready for work or just would like to make dinner.
So I got back to the apartment after a long day of work and saw that the water pressure in the apartment was low. Had to go back out to work and then got home and it was still low. The “manager” did a horrible job of letting people know that a water pipe had burst. No email or phone calls. I can’t even take a shower after a 14 hour day at work. The way they told us is through the maintenance phones answering machine. Great job taking care of your residents👎
My apartment has been flooded for over a week, and they refuse to fix the issue. Keep saying the original number has to fix the problem. Well, I have standing water in my unusable living room. I dont care WHY I have water steadily pouring out of the wall. I just want to be able to use my living room when I pay $1400 a month.
Ive lived here for about 3 years now and I unfortunately have to move cause the rent keeps getting higher then what I can afford for a 1 bedroom apartment. I loved living here otherwise I never had any issues. Gonna miss this place for sure.
A little pricey, and some pieces of the place are falling apart a bit, and Im sure you can read plenty about that in other reviews. That said, this place earns at least 2 of the 4 stars I gave it back simply because of the office staff. They are always friendly, and make a point to get to know each resident. Courtney and Tessa in particular always go above and beyond to help me out in whatever ways they can. Overall a decent place to live, with an outstanding care team.
I’ve seen warmer and cleaner park benches then these apartments. Do not live here don’t even visit!!My neighbors are all rude and don’t have the time of day to show a friendly attitude and they have been harassing the people hard at work to give us heat.
I absolutely love living at Advenir at The Village. Tessa has made my relocation from Chicago a very satisfying one. My unit is updated and all the amenities are perfect for my children. I hate the parking but we do have the option to pay for a carport so its no big deal. We have a fire pit that my husband and I love. Also my sister just recently moved here and Courtney and Tessa made everything so smooth for her. I also absolutely love the dog park for my doggy baby (lol). I am looking forward to sticking around with Advenir for a while!
READ BEFORE YOU LEASE HEREShocking, another situation my family and I were put in and needs to be brought to light. I receive an email a few months back stating this:I just wanted to inform you that we were made aware that you are using 2 garages without paying. Although I do know that it has been going on longer than 2 months, I have only back charged your account for these through May. Your current balance is $543.66. Please bring your account current asap. Thank you. This was the first we were informed of any type of misuse of the garages. We were not approached to discuss the accusation that we were using a garage without paying. Mind you, we do not know anyone other than two families because our kids go to school together. Strictly acquaintances, only talk when the kids play. Called office to ask why I was being charged for a garage that I have never used. Asked how I got brought into this situation, to which they replied that it was brought to their attention by another tenant. I asked who, and they couldnt tell me. I proceeded to ask (on the phone) if I was brought into this by name. Person on the phone ignored my second question and asked if they could tow the cars in the garage. I asked again, how my name got brought up into this, seeing that we do not know or talk to anyone in the apartment complex. Person on the phone asked again if they could tow the cars. I replied Yes, cause they are not our cars and we have never used the garage. If I remember correctly the conversation ended soon after that and I was still not content with how this was handled. Walk down to talk to the manager. I asked the same questions, how was I brought into this situation. I was told that I fit the description of the person that the other tenant was describing........So out of hundreds of apartments, they relied on the description of someone that doesnt know me at all, and I fit the description of what? A beard, glasses. and wearing a hat, like 75% of males in Colorado? Doesnt seem like a reasonable or rationale way to accuse people of using something that they should be paying for. On top of this, when I walk my dogs I dont ever walk near the garages. When I drive my car I dont drive anywhere near the garages. On top of that, wouldnt you think it would be smart or reasonable to investigate the cars that are in this garage that is not being paid for. Maybe cross reference the car in the garage with who is living in the apartments. When you lease with the apartment you have to provide a description of your car and license plate number. Dont you think before you accuse me of using a garage that you would see if those cars, you are claiming to have towed, match up with my name. You would have to know my name to email me to accuse me of using a garage. They claim to know a lot in the email they sent me, saying it was going on for more than two months, but they obviously didnt know WHO was using the garage....laughable. OH, and another one of their points, when I asked how I would have gotten in one of these garages, was that someone could have given me the PIN to get in the garage door. Which is great but here again, we know NO ONE in the apartment. I then asked if we were being targeted for previous complaints because it seems supppppppper weird how they concluded it was me using a garage that I have never used. Staff never even explained why it was handled the way it was. My questions were ignored and I was cut off on the phone to be asked to tow the cars (that werent mine). Do NOT pay what they are asking for this place to have water leak in your apt, leaky faucets, false sense of AC and heat, unexpected monthly fees tied to utilities, and to be accused of using something that you never used.A few days before we returned the keys, apparently maintenance had come into our apartment without our permission. The office claims that it is the responsibility of Maintenance to know when people have moved out. Regardless, what they did was illegal and basically laughed it off like it was something minor. Avoid this place!
LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!Have lived here for unfortunately 3 months out of a year lease. I will definitely be moving at the end of the lease. Not only do the pictures not match what the property looks like they photo edited it a lot to make it look good. It’s a indoor facility so you have to go down hall ways to get to your front door. They have a cleaner come in once a month to clean only the entrance hall ways have throw up on carpet stairs debri all over. It’s more of a old hotel that got converted into apartments way to small! And there is only one laundry room for the whole building to use with 30+ apartments. People that live here are sketchy Makes you keep an extra eye on things and you can’t call security because the office disabled that option on the recording.
I wish I could give this place a lower rating. I used to live here when it was called Sunset Creek, and I loved the place, manager was great and took the time to actually address the concerns of the tenants and actually got stuff done. And it was safe. I no longer live there, but my brother does, and in the 10 months that he has lived there, from only what we have seen, 3 CARS have been broken into, and 3 MOTORCYCLES including my brothers have been stolen from the parking lot. The worst part about it? The manager REFUSES to add any additional security. When my brother brought the issue to her attention, she said, Its not my problem, I dont have time for this, I have a meeting, then she closed the door on his face. The safety and security of the tenants is not her problem? That is ridiculous. Either she is incompetent or just plain lazy. Tenants no long feel safe parking at their own homes. I mean really, how hard is it to install security cameras, or hire an overnight guard?
Do not rent from Advenir! We lived at this complex when it was still Sunset Creek Apartments, and we were excited when we heard that Advenir would be taking over. Pretty quickly we found that they were interested in improving only what would attract new tenants rather than retain current ones.During our time with Advenir, many of the mailboxes had been broken into and we were unable to receive mail for two months at the apartment complex. We had to go to the post office in order to retrieve mail which was never convenient and always took at least an hour. We were never notified why we were no longer receiving mail and after two weeks of no mail, we had to go ask the management what was going on.We placed several work orders in for fixes to be done in our apartments that either took several weeks to be tended to, or were never fixed at all. The pool and hot tub consistently had problems. The parking lot was filled with trash and some nights there weren’t enough spots for everyone to park so we would have to find other parking offsite. The office was frequently closed and the laundry card reloading machine was frequently broken as well as washers and dryers out of order often. Our biggest issue with Advenir was with the move out process and the way that management handled it. We had one of the maintenance workers come do a walk through the morning we were moving out in order to ensure that there were no problems with our apartment before we turned our keys over. The gentleman that did our walk through did not indicate any problems that we were going to be charged for. We assumed, since we were not told about any problems during the walk through, that there would be no charges and we would receive all of our deposit back, less our final utilities bill. We were surprised to find that when we received our final bill, that they had gladly taken all of our deposit as well as “additional charges” that were not explained. It took a ridiculous amount of time to get in touch with anyone to help explain what the charges were for. We left several messages and were disgusted with how long it took to even get a call back. After several weeks we were informed we were being charged a carpet cleaning fee even though we had been told that they would be replacing the carpet in our apartment with new carpet once we moved out. It is hard for me to believe that the carpet in our apartment would be used to patch up the carpet in other apartments as Kara had told us it would be. The carpet was in very poor shape and if it will be used in other apartments to patch spots up, I would be concerned. My guess is that they were just collecting money from us and hiding it under the “carpet cleaning fee” which is not what it was going to be used for.The management was also so kind as to waive the fee for a crumb that was left on the kitchen counter and the little bit of cleaning product that was in the bottom of the bathtub. They acted as though they were doing us a favor by not charging for those things. We purposefully stayed to do a walk-through in order to avoid additional charges and figured that we would have been told at the time of the walk through if there was any further cleaning that needed to be done. I would have gladly stayed to do any additional cleaning in order to avoid any fees, although we scrubbed every inch of the apartment prior to our move out.The amount of time it took to get any information about what we were being charged for was pathetic. We emailed and called and had to continually follow up with Advenir to get any answers and would go three to four weeks and hear nothing from them. The lack of communication was unacceptable. We highly recommend not renting from Advenir!
They signed off that my cleaning was complete. I get a letter months later for cleaning. They had to clean their own mold out of the apartment they refused to fix! The manager signed off and they now are coming after me.
The staff deserve a higher rating than the 3-stars Im giving the apartment complex. Our interactions with management and maintenance employees have been very positive. They work very hard and are constantly busy but are always courteous and work with you on issues. My partner and I lived here for three years. The location is convenient in many ways- Costco and Trader Joes just next door and a walking path behind the complex. Cant beat the proximity to UCCS and the I-25. Neighbors can be loud and normal things need repairs. We did have mice at one point, and management eventually moved us to another apartment to resolve the problem. For future renters, overall you can bet that its a perfectly safe and average place to rent with personable staff.
I moved in here fall of 2018 and it started off as a good area! Since then there has been countless water problems, our shower constantly won’t drain and every time we try to get ahold of maintenance they do not return our calls, it takes a couple days of calling to get ahold of them. Our floors have started peeling up and everything in the apartment is extremely cheap material and does not last and stay nice. The apartment buildings themselves are not well kept at all and smell terrible. Our rent has increased since moving in here with no explanation or notice. I would not recommend anyone move in here.
I have lived here for 7 years and have seen 3 managements and this will be the first time I have commented. We had trouble with our door as it would not fully close and we were unable to lock it. I called to have it fixed today. The young lady that I spoke to on the phone was professional and courteous and said that she would mark it urgent. I assumed it would take at least an hour, but was pleasantly surprised when Rafeal showed up to the door in less than 30 minutes. Talk about a pro, he was courteous to a fault. He not only fixed the problem, but explained what had caused the issue. The door now functions better than it did when we first moved into this apartment a year and a half ago (we were in another apartment for the first five and a half years). Kudos to Advenir at The Village.
DISGUSTING! The carpets in the building I saw were originally beige but were BLACK with dirt and grime. Every floor had trash all around and the laundry rooms were dirty and smelled awful. The assistant manager had no issues with any of it. They obviously put all their money into the outside so you want to come in and check it out. The pictures look good but were not a true refection of their apartmentsI was literally sick to my stomach when I left.
Where do I begin...We moved here from out of state almost 2 years ago. We broke our lease for numerous reasons. When we looked it up the pool was supposed to be open all year. Main reason we moved here. The water heater broke & all of a sudden it became seasonal. The back fence was broken we went in to complain a bunch of times because coyote kept coming through the fence. One day my son came running in the house because one started following him and my dog. I have pictures. After a year they put up a temporary fence. The building smells like urine. They keep the front looking nice but the back of the buildings look gross. They would cut off the water and not advise the residents. Management does nothing. The building we lived in literally is rotting from the inside out. We had black mold in 4 places. (I have pictures)When you call the main office in FLORIDA they dont even call back. Maintenence is rude & youre always wrong. This place is absolutely awful. If you value your health do not move here. Security is non existent. Homeless have lived in the storage closets. The community patrol is a guy that picks up the phone from his home. I have so much more to complain about, but I will leave it at that. Im just happy we moved out this past Friday.
If I could Id give 0 stars. We just moved from these apartments and they are not military friendly. They will take all your money and not refund you for what you deserve and act like they are doing you a favor by not charging you to break your contract, even though they told you to sign another 12 month lease. The woman in the office called my husband a liar when he told her that the military didnt give us a months notice. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO THIS APARTMENT. I busted my butt to clean that apartment, it was 100x cleaner that when we moved in and they still took our entire deposit. The water lines constantly break in the winter. Maintenance takes forever to do anything. Dont waste your time here!
The entire staff here is super nice I would defiantly recommend this place. Aside from a few people in my building that annoyed me the place was great! Plus lots of improvements and great part of town.
Do yourself a favor and dont even consider living in this place. It is absolutely crazy to me that there are ANY positive reviews about the staff here. I have lived here for three years and the staff has always been extremely unprofessional and impossible to contact. They are never in the office and they never answer the phones during normal business hours and God forbid you ever have an issue because they will not help you at all. The buildings themselves are never clean, there is nowhere near enough parking available for all residents, the amenities included in your payments will always be broken, the maintenance team literally just does not respond to service requests...,I could go on forever. It is very clear that the management here is far more concerned with getting new residence and has no regard for keeping the ones they already have happy . This place is an absolute disaster.
Wish i could give 2.5 stars instead of three. The apartments always have issues somehow, the water is shut off often, when you order packages, its always a hunt to try to find them because they dont always give them to you the day amazon says it was delivered.
Worst renting experience Ive ever had. We were originally quoted for a total of $1255 a month, which, we were told, included utilities. Susan, the lady that set us up, said that all the utilities are billed together on one bill, we were told that we just needed to set up an account with Colorado Springs Utilities. Great! No problem. First month comes through, and everything is as explained. Next month comes through and we have $180 more for utilities! We also receive our first month utility bill from CS Utilities, another $50. We go and inquire at the office and the manager tells us that we are required to pay our own utilities, but at the time, we arent given a good explanation on the extra $180, though it was later explained that we are paying communal utilities, which is a complete shock to me. It sounds like the complex wants us to pay 100% of their operating cost. We suck it up for the month and pay it. Its now been several months, and we are SOL. We are paying over $1500 a month total here for a very mediocre living situation. Susan was very unclear, or uneducated on what she told us for our monthly total. We would not have rented such a place if we had know what we would be paying. As far as actual living goes, its not terrible, but it is definitely not great. All finishings and appliances are base model, and very cheap. The bathrooms do not have fans in them to clear steam while taking a shower, and even our main latrine will start to steam up if I use hot enough water while shaving. The toilets clog on a very regular basis with minimal waste in them due to the low water usage toilets. Paint has peeled and chipped all over the unit with very minor contact. The flooring in the hardwood units is cheap laminate flooring, though it does actually seem to be holding up OK.Laundry is not in unit, and even worse, pay to use. It is $1.50 per machine that you use. Meaning you are paying at least $4.50 to do a regular size load of laundry, $1.50 each for 2 small washers, and $1.50 for a dryer, that often does not dry clothes completely. There is also only 3 washers and 3 dryers per building, which is 16 apartments, at least to our building, housing 3 bedroom units. I will often go upstairs to find my laundry pulled out of the washers/dryers and tossed on the floor, including my uniforms.Parking can get full very quick, and when I get home from work around 1800-1900 each day, parking is full. I have had to park in the Costco parking lot a few times and walk over. I shared a payed, covered parking spot with a neighbor for our motorcycles for a couple of months, and we would often come home to find others parked in our spot. Security is a major issue as well. We have had both of our cars broken into and had stuff stolen. We have also had stuff stolen off of our back patio. Management claims they have security, but I have not once seen a patrol in the 5 months weve been here.Around 2200 (10pm) there are still kids running around outside and inside yelling and being loud with no adult supervision in sight. I have two young children of my own, and its a pain to get them to bed to begin with, much less with kids being crazy and loud. I also have to be awake for work at 0400 every morning, so a bit of sleep would be nice. The building Im in also smells like weed and cigarette smoke constantly. I dont particularly have a problem with people partaking in either, but I dont want my home to smell like it.Deceptive advertisements, unclear pricing, mediocre accommodations and lack of security. These are all things that are important with an apartment complex, and this place cant get any of them right.
I currently live here and I’m halfway through my lease, the managers are only OK, maintenance has NEVER responded to any of our MANY requests, plus the buildings are old and very outdated. Some good things are how close it is to many shopping places and restaurants and my job, and there really is a lot of closet space
First Ill start by saying I do enjoy one thing about this place, the gym and the grill is a nice area. The people here are aweful. When Im at the grill, people have no respect, they dont clean up for themselves. But the reason I gave this place such a low star is the fact that Ive made complaint many time regarding the noise that was going on above my apartment. Its currently 2am as I am writing this I have to work in 5hrs. Instead of a goodnight sleep I have to listen to rap music to a loud bass noise from upstairs. I made complaints and the apartment never replied. They do this every other night. I was told when I first met the staff that quiet time start 10pm. That it would be honored. However looks like they do not care, nor do their tenet.I have recorded video proof of this, if anyone interested no problem sharing. I can walk outside and still hear their music
I wouldnt wish these awful apartments upon anyone, the maintenance manager is the rudest adult I have dealt with. He claimed to be working there for 20 years and getting into an argument with a customer does not show years of experience. They are unprofessional and dont care about you as a tenant. I had my apartment flood and they said You dont need a restoration crew. now its molding on 3 different walls and they dont care at all when it clearly says in our lease mold should be taken care of. Now I have headaches daily and no replacement of sheet rock has even been talked about this is a HEALTH ISSUE! Not only is the maintenance useless inside the apartment but or building door has been hung open for a week now and is making the entire building freezing as it is now December. They also claimed musical instruments were OK, then the lease completely states otherwise. Kids are on the second floors when the lease states they should be on the first floor ONLY and I have been woken up by the little brats above me at 3-5 am for no reason. I can not even find a place to park seeing as how they are now over due on construction of the pool and fitness center. These people are uncaring and plain rude never even try to rent here I am not the only person to have these issues.
Homeless people wander the parking lot. Cops are out for one reason or another atleast once a day, ac doesnt work half the time, and when it does tou probably wont have running water. Buildings are never cleaned and poorly maintained, you cant run more than 2 washers at a time without one or all of them flooding, gym is poorly equipped. The paint inside and outside of the apartments is coming off. It would be ok if they charged half the price but for $1400 a month id say find somewhere else.Part 2 august 5th 2019. Water is out and someone stole all my clothes from the dryer.
I just moved here a few months ago and omg!!!! The water off AGAIN like for the fifth time I’ve only been here like 2 months. I have to shower . My kids are baby’s and sometimes like today they wake up with poop and we can’t wash there bottles out to give them there milk or food to cook our water has been off since 9pm with no warning this happens a lot sometimes all day I had to leave just to use the restroom or I have to go buy dinner even if I don’t have the money cause NO WATER . And when we call they say it’s a pipe issues but I come on here and to see reviews that this has been happen for more than 6 months ago for everyone. I didn’t know we could do a 6months lease. When we asked they said only 12 months then I look online and bam!!! You can do a 3 month lease a little frustrated because we have piles of laundry or I have to wash them by hand cause the washes don’t work or could only use 1 washer. There’s just so many things that is poorly taken care of like hallways smelling terrible. Although the staff is very friendly. I don’t see how it’s possible to pay 1400 for rent and on top fees and water of like 65 when half the time it doesn’t work
I’ve been trying to get in contact with someone for over a month now to get answered about my final billing statement and why they are charging me over $400 for electrical/gas/trash/water, however, no one either answers the phone/email or they have no answer for me. I don’t understand how they can expect me to pay them anything when no one can give me an answer to my question. Overall my experience with these apartments has been decent, but the inability to communicate with their ex-residents is quite frustrating.
Deposits are only refundable within 72hrs. But dont expect them to mention that to you until it is well passed that point. They push back the chance to view your actual apartment until it is the day of your expected move in and give you no time to actually think about it after viewing it, hoping that the combination of loosing money on a deposit and time spent waiting will bind you into this place before you even sign a lease. This is called the Sunk Cost Fallacy. They dont have fans or good ventilation in their bathrooms, their floor plans are misleading- giving a visual impression that there are two full restrooms. Their buildings are poorly maintained, cigarette butts all over the communal stair wells, and little effort put into maintaining their laundry rooms. Not recommended.
The location is great, its right off the highway, there are easily over 15 restaurants and 20 stores in walking distance, theres a connection to the pikes peak greenway trail thats great for walking/running/biking. Parking for my building is plentiful. Its pet friendly but not everyone picks up after their pets. The buildings are older and things commonly fall apart, the hinges on our doors stripped and fell off from old wood, the towel rack fell off, the outdoor porch is starting to rot, the laundry services arent super reliable, the hallway has old heavily stained carpeting. The maintenance team came in and fixed the easy stuff in a timely and effective manner but the overall state of the buildings need long term renovations. The office building/gym is much nicer than the actual apartments to give the initial impression that everything is as nice which is not true. Ive never had any personal gripes with the management but its not uncommon to hear upset tenants when going into the office. The office staff appears to have a very high turnover rate for whatever reason, I stopped trying to remember names when I go to pick up a package after a few months living here.Overall it has subpar living conditions but a great location.
To make a very, very long story slightly shorter; I have lived here for 12 months. About 6 months with Sunset Creek, the former management company, and about 6 months with Advenir.Sunset Creek was a hot mess, and Ill admit for the first month or two after the transition the front office was a little chaotic. As I left Advenir, I noticed how much the front office has caught up. The front office is fast, organized and actually know what theyre doing.Ill admit the parking kinda fills up at night, but living right next to Costco kinda makes up for it. I think all in all the apartments are decent but the pros outweigh the cons.I gave Advenir 4 stars because of the location (we had an awesome mountain view) and because of how much they turned the place around.
This is truly the worse management I have ever had to deal with. They never answer, never called back and dont care at all. Its always blamed on well we have to get approval from the main management then I never hear anything again. DO NOT COME HERE unless you want, awful maintenance that is untimely that falls apart and that never comes when they say they will and give no warning before they come in. Or if you want the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They dont care about tenants or safety. (I have reached out to this management and the main advenir office to acknowledge my concerns before posting this and never got a response)
Honestly it is sad that people come online to complain about something rather than approach it on a more personal level. There is not one apartment facility or any other business for that matter that is 100% perfect. Yes I have had my rent go up from time to time, the washer not being available can be a pain ( Keep in mind the plumbing was not properly done in the beginning when this complex was originally built) also if people would follow directions the management has posted : Do NOT run all 3 washers at the same time. Start them in intervals so that the washers do not drain all at once and flood the small drains that are in place they would not have to unplug all but one washer for resident use, yes occasionally the hallways smell like weed or whatever ( keep in mind it is LEGAL in Colorado to do this! I for one do not do drugs but I am not going to knock people who do because it is their life. However they choose to conduct themselves is their personal option), Yes the buildings are old and outdated, but this is not the fault of current owners ( if companies that would have owned this establishment prior to who has it now the issues would not be an issue!), Yes the water being off is inconvenient ( again this goes back to the original owners when this area was first built, and not only that time plays a factor into this as well, nothing is perfect forever!). I have seen young kids out in the middle of the night in the halls ( this people could complain is a parenting issue) all we usually end up doing is making sure they go back inside their apartment and go on about our day ( I am a parent as well and I would hope someone would do the same for me ). As far as pet waste outside, that is not the requirement of the complex to address, people who own the animals need to address this issue ( although I have seen an outside company on the premises picking up things in the lawns and such) . People complain about the maintenance staff and response times ( People need to keep in mind that these people have the ENTIRE complex to address and they will address things in the order of severity, not just 1 single complaint in any certain order) If they are in the middle of fixing an issue for someone and something else needs addressed immediately, they are going to stop and attempt to fix the more pressing matter and then continue on the original job. Stop attacking people on the internet because you have a bad day and choose who you will unleash on.
If I could give less stars, I would. Filthy dirty building hallways and the young girl in the leasing office has better things to do than help residents. Look elsewhere.
BEFORE Sunset Creek became Advenir at the village, it was a decent place. No problems, the maintenance were on call 24/7, the staff was nice for the most part. But then new management came. It took them THREE WEEKS to fix my garbage disposal, I had flies and gnats all over in my kitchen because of that, took them 4 days to fix my water, they still havent removed mold from my apt. The staff is horrible, either theyre VERY rude & cold, or never own up to their responsibilities. There is never any parking, we had to park all the way across the campus (about a 10 minute walk) at midnight in the winter when I was 9 months pregnant. They towed our car when we parked on the side, out of the way, because they HAD NO PARKING. Our waters been shut off multiple times, electricity gets shut off, you cant do laundry anymore because their machine broke, theyll never fix anything. Theyre supposed to offer lockout assistance but one night when we got locked out at 2am, we called & they told us to call a locksmith because their maintenance are too lazy to take care of anything. There is trash everywhere in the back parking lot, just flying around, the pool is NEVER clean, theres even been chairs and umbrellas floating around in there & they just never clean it. Mailboxes have been broken into, took them a couple of months to fix it so we had to drive all the way to a post office just to get our mail. And they dont turn on the cool air in any of the apartments until like late June. So my apartment is currently 85 degrees. Ive had flies, gnats, mice, even squirrels in my ceiling. For the love of god, do not move here. There are better options out there for cheaper prices. The upgraded apartment isnt even that nice, and they take out $150 from your deposit to redo the carpets regardless of how clean youve kept them. Lease is up in a couple of months & that will be the happiest day for me and my family.
Do not move in here. 1. It smells like dog pee walking in the front door. 2. The hallways are disgusting. Residents leave trash and all kinds of things around. 3. People don’t pick up after their dog. 4. Always smells like weed or cigarettes 5. Couldn’t use my heat because it smelled like constant weed or cigarettes. 6. They don’t turn on the Air Conditioning until June 1, but the front office has AC. I guess they need it to be comfortable to work, but you don’t need it to be comfortable to live. 7. I have a crazy neighbor who has caused me issues. I’m assuming the no income requirements allows rift raft. 8. Constantly bothered by people asking to do things for money. 9. The laundry room is dirty. The washers as disgusting. 10. Homeless people sleep in the laundry rooms from time to time. 11. Parking is absolutely horrible. You’re welcome.
Ive been here for almost a month. The office staff is incredibly friendly and very helpful. They are super dog friendly and give my dog treats when we visit the office. All the cabinets and walls have fresh paint, and I have brand new carpet. All maitenance issues I had moving in have been taken care of. Btw the maitenance guys were very friendly and professional. I absolutely love it here. Im so happy I chose this place! Ill write a review at move out too :)
Consider this a warning. Management is awful and the apartments are sub par. For what they charge each month you can find better. No upgrades have been done to the place except change the paint and the signs out front. There is no ventilation in the bathrooms so moisture builds up and creates mold. The toilets barely flush and to get maintenance to fix anything is nearly impossible. We have a stove on the fritz and nobody has come to check it out. Wiring is so old the power always shorts out and or trips frequently. As for parking you have to pay for covered parking but other residents use it and you cant have them towed anymore. Before you could call the tow company show a copy of your lease showing you pay for the spot and the tow company would tow the vehicle for you. It doesnt cost management anything to have an agreement with a tow company to tow. Now you have to call maintenance to have a vehicle towed and they may not call you back at all. I cannot wait till my lease is up this is by far the worst apartments I have ever lived in. This place is managed by a slum lord. Do not recommend any Advenir apartments to anyone rent a house it would be worth the money. If I could give a 0 I would.
If you love apartment living, with no rules or accountability, this is your place! If you enjoy smoking weed or cigarettes, partying all hours of the night and inviting all your friends to the apartment complex, this is for you. If you love your dog, but hate picking up its poop, no worries, feel free to leave it anywhere you’d like. Even the hallways, if necessary. No one will mind. That goes for letting him pee in the hallways as well, if you can’t make it outside, no big deal. If you love hunting mice and spending the majority of your time seeing how many you can trap in your one bedroom apartment, this is your place. Don’t worry, maintenance won’t come check to assess the situation either, you’re free to do whatever you’d like, purchase however many supplies you need to, and the property management will be sure to not reimburse you for your troubles, after all, out of sight, out of mind right? If you like to guess which day the water will be turned off, don’t worry, it’s impossible to figure out! Usually it will be right about the time you are heading downstairs to wash your laundry, or to jump into the shower. All part of the fun and games around here! Speaking of fun and games, would you like to guess how much your rent is every month? Don’t worry, it will never be the same or ever in your favor either, and will always vary from month-to-month, with all kinds of hidden charges and fees. Kind of like a guessing game, sounds fun, doesn’t it?! Living here is a blast, as there are no rules or accountability anywhere, beginning with management leading the way. As long as you pay the adjustable rent every month, you are free to do whatever you please, and as long as you leave maintenance and management out of it, everyone gets along just fine. If you do you have any issues, like mice running across your kitchen counters, make sure to call the office, and leave multiple messages, which will not be returned, because it takes contacting code enforcement to have anything done around here, but that’s always fun, too. All part of the fun and games at University Village Apartments, where the losers lose and the winners always win. If you love apartment living at its finest, then this is your place! And feel free to leave your trash wherever you like, whatever makes you comfortable. Management doesn’t mind. And neither does maintenance. Just make sure to pay all the hidden fees every month, and everyone will get along just fine, welcome to your new home, University village apartments, where anything goes! #apartmentlivingatitsfinest #lessthanonestar #welcomehome #youregonnaloveithereipromise
First let me say the place is clean and well kept. Huge issue with management. Lived here for 4 months. Father had heart attack and I had to break lease. Was out of town and could not give written notice. Was told 2 month penalty and lose deposit. Asked in person day of moving out and told same thing. A week later get a bill for 4400 dollars and was told there is a additional fee of 2083 dollars for failure to give written notice when Nick said dont worry about it. Was told its in my lease. Lease is close to 20 pages. April and Nick could of memtined this in person when I asked. This place is dishonest. Website list district 20 schools actually district 11. No one picks up dog poop, they dont enforce the non marajuina clause in the lease and 4 months later my cooling system does not work and has electric wires hanging down that will shock you. Nice location and clean grounds but lack of EMPATHY from management.
I lived here while attending the local college. I initially signed a lease with Sunset Creek, but they were on their way out the next day. This lead to numerous billing errors, which were eventually corrected (months later). I apparently did not have any guarantor paperwork in my lease, which I later found out there WAS. Basically for the first six months of 5 months of my lease, I was charged utilities for three people. When there was only two of us living in a two bedroom apartment. The maintenance was ok, took them days to come and half ass fixing our shower. And whenever they did fix it, the issue would continue to come back. The maintenance guys were always leaving a mess. There was a HOLE in the ceiling of my bathroom, which they took about a week to come and fix.The front office staff likes to not answer the phone. I, until recently was considering moving back to this place for school. I found a place and called them and told them to cancel our reservation of a place. But then days later they called my roommate and asked him when we would be moving in. (i had left a message on their machine about a week before this phone call)Overall, there are other CHEAPER, NEWER places around town. Im paying about $300 less for a HOUSE then they would have charged me to live in a 3 bedroom apartment.Dont live here if you dont want to be overbilled for utilities. (Its shared utilities, so you gotta pay for the complex to water/light their sidewalks. Should be included in the very high rent.)You gotta pay $25 a month for a covered space, which people like to park in. You gotta have proof that you pay for the space, or you cant have it towed.BTW, those who are going to live here with a guarantor, make sure you tell them that the guarantor will NOT be living at the residence. Or you will be charged utilities for that guarantor.Thats it. Dont live here if you dont want to be ripped off. Go buy/rent a house. You will be paying less for a newer (probably with no asbestos) place.
Do not listen to these people that are giving good reviews. The management of this property is awful. Since I moved in about 5 months ago, the entire property has lost water once for three days, the heat was out last month for two days, I found a homeless man sleeping in my building, garbage piles up by the dumpsters and property, they always shut off unities to entire buildings without notice, the staff is never there and when they are they are never helpful, the buildings do not have fire extinguishers, the property is 70 years old, there are always pipe bursts in all of the buildings, they dont maintain there washing machines, they never plow or salt, I could literally write an essay about how bad this place is.
I love the front office staff, they are efficient and very very friendly. Apartments are super nice as well, lots of space and friendly neighbors.
I enjoyed living at Sunset Creek apartments, but when it changed to Advenir it took a turn for the worse. The management and employees are rude, and very disrespectful. They lost my money order, then proceeded to put a eviction notice on the door, even though the bill had already been paid; all because THEY made a mistake and put the payment towards someone elses rent. I do not recommend living here.
Havent found a better place to live and I hope I dont have to look for one anytime soon. Residents are more than nice and the office staff are the best ones. The maintanances guys are awesome and always on point. If you have kids this is an awesome place to live. Between the club house, the pool, the volleyball court and the playground they wont ever get bored for sure. Gym for adults, a jacuzzi ( who doesnt love them), Computers and a lot more stuff. We have the UCHEALTH and UCCS a few steps away, a supermarket, a huge mall with a lil bit of everything. We are in the middle of everything I must say. I really love the place and I dont regret it at all caused I found a warm place to call home.Love,-5402 T&J-
I recently moved out of Advenir at the Village because we moved out of state, so unfortunately we had to break our lease. I moved in last December after it changed from Sunset Creek, so I cant speak to how it was before then, but my experience with Advenir was okay. I found them online and read the reviews, which I take with a grain of salt because sometimes people just have a REALLY bad experience. It happens and unless I read all bad reviews then I usually like to try it out for myself. So I moved in right before Christmas and they were doing a special, so I got a good deal. I also got a better deal for signing a longer lease, which it is pretty pricey for what you get if you only want a 6 month lease. But Tessa was AMAZING at getting me into my new apartment the next day and set me up with everything I needed. I had some minor hiccups, like when they were re-doing the mailboxes and didnt really inform anyone what was going on and that you would need a new key or where your mailbox would be in the meantime lol. The parking also stinks here, but I lived on the less populated side I guess and I never really had a problem unless I came home really late at night. The amenities are nice and in the winter time they even have free coffee or hot cocoa in the office. The laundry situation kind of sucks though. There are 2 washers and dryers in each building that you have to share with about 20 other apartments (except for the 3 bedroom apartments that have more in that building) and they make you use a laundry card that is stupid in my opinion. You can only reload it in the office (which is not open 24/7) or the machine they had in another building, which was removed for being tampered with too many times I guess. So in the office or online were your options. People frequently are leaving their laundry unattended while they hog the washers and dryers and I even had my laundry card stolen once when I left it in the laundry room to grab a basket from my apartment at 2AM...so note to self...The main reason I am only giving this place 3 stars though is because of the staff. I think Tessa is amazing and honestly needs a raise because every time I needed something and I spoke to her, she followed through. Courtney is nice too...but Kara was horrible. She lied multiple times to my husband and I about when maintenance would fix something and she even told me once that she was too busy with a phone call she would have to take when I walked into the office that I should come back another time, when she was the only one in the office that whole day. I dont know about you, but I have better things to do with my day than to keep popping back in when it was convenient for her. She just did not have any customer service skills and you were treated as if you were inconveniencing her. But last I heard she doesnt work there anymore...so theres that. Its just really hard to get anyone to call you back when you leave a message or to even answer the phone calls. It seems as if they need more staff and definitely people who can do their job...This isnt the most horrible place you could live, but it suited what I needed at the time. I would say try it for yourself, you could have better luck and things may have improved since I left.
Sunset Creek decided to rent two of their building to the local college. If you want to live next door to two loud college dorms, where the kids come home at all hours with their radios blasting, then this is the place for you.no one was ever warned that the college was going to take over buildings. We were never told this before we sign our lease. They did not plan well for parking bringing in 160 college students, so if you work late good luck in finding a parking spot. Not to mention the drug dealers who live in our building, that have cars pull up in front of the apartment, stay for five mins, and leave. Not safe for family. If you work hard and need sleep forget about this place.and do not be fooled by their newly renovated comunity building, if you want to share it with 160 college students.
GOOD PLACE.... friendly people....
Horrible staff and and maintaince crew. Seems friendly but do not be fooled. Way over priced and you will pay hidden fees out the a$&!!!
The rent is a bit high however, they have a friendly staff; they are quick to resolve maintenance issues; the apartments are updated and pretty nice; and the amenities are nice. You cant beat the location either.
Horrible place to live.. way overpriced.. over a thousand dollars a month for a 1 bedroom 800 square foot apartment.. all these people care about is getting your money.. once they get your name on the contract, even if u want to cancel its 4 months rent.. so they got you for 5k already only if u pay 1 months rent and then decide to cancel.. Horrible place.. Horrible service.. building are old hotels right down the street from meth infested drug infested nightly hotels and a half way house.. they charge you for location because they sit right next to big shopping complex.. Id give less then 1 star if I could.. horrible.. horrible.. horrible.. plus none of the management know what they are doing and if u are 1 day late on rent its somewheres like 75 buks a day that its late..
Really expensive and really dirty. Whatever you do dont rent here. I absolutely hate my life living here. The worst place I have ever lived.
I lived here for a year and a half. I liked the placed based on there location and amenities. They seem to have done a lot of hard work trying to fix up the place which is good. The office management are really nice when you work with them in the office, however, no one ever answers the phone here. It was a struggle to ever talk to someone without going down to the office. Another downside here is that the apartment heat did not work nearly half the time i lived there. Granted the place is like 50 years old or older it was never fixed. 60 degree air coming out of the vents is not heat. We had them FIX it probably 20 times and never did anything. AC is also just a waste of time and money. It blows air thats all. Everything that was FIXED by maintenence eventually broke again within 2 weeks. Maintenence needs some serious education. The apartments themselves just need an entire overhaul dispite the new aplliances that i never got to have. Lol. With all of this i enjoyed most of my stay here and with the friendly staff, but this place is dated for the extremely high price that people are paying now to live there. It needs more than a paint job and some new appliances. Parking is also a nightmare.
This PLACE AINT WORTH NO TYPE OF MONEY #EPIC FAIL! GOD DONT LIKE UGLY OR BULLIES
Before these apartments changed, they accepted housing. Now, they dont and quite a bit of residents had to move out of these apartments which has cockroaches, mice, ants, and nats. Also, the main vents are covered by duck tape. The pipelinea nd wiring are so old thatyou would physically have to tear the electricalb box down and get a new one.
Awesome staff! Always on top of everything!
Since I have moved here in August, I have witnessed cars being broken into multiple times. The security here is awful. I feel bad for the families that live here because it isnt safe. I suggest they put security cameras around the areas. As of now, there is no way I would recommend anyone to move into these apartments.
They wont pay there electircity bill i never lived there and they refuse to pay the utilities that they used. Awful people awful place. Scam scam scam scam!!!!!!!!!
New owners seem to be trying to improve establishment
Why does it take SO long for the laundry card machine in the office to be fixed? It has beenout of service for at least three days
Do come, go way from worst apartments ever.if there is zero star ill do.
