I was there to do my nails with dipping powder and it turned out to be as I want and super fast! I’m a person who love to do my nails with the dipping and I keep doing it all the time. I always look for the place to satisfy and this is the place! I’ve been here twice and I would gave them 10/10!

Holly and the team at Elegant Nails are seriously AMAZING!!! I have been going there for two years now and they seriously have never disappointed me. They have tons of colors to chose from and will even help you find the color you are looking for. They are patient and accommodating. Last night, they even stayed after hours for me and Emily did this nail art:) Looks amazing!!!!

Update (September 2021): Ive now been going to Elegant for more than a year and it is still truly my favorite place in Chicago. I am stunned by their incredible nails and how long they last. They are also absolutely incredible at designs!Absolute best nail place in Chicago! The team is so efficient, and Aida is amazingly talented at nail design. Ive been going for a few months now, and no matter what picture I show for reference it is always executed on flawlessly.My dip manicures also last for 4, sometimes 5, weeks which is fantastic.

Its very hard to clean my toenails because of my complicated ingrown, cuticles, and dry skin. Nobody as in nobody can clean it without leaving some wound. I was surprised of Holly! The very first time she touched my nails, omgosh! It was very clean, felt great, no pain, and most of all no wound after removing my ingrown! (I know she can remove ingrown well because I saw her did that to other people thats why I requested for her the very next time I came back.) People that has the same problem like mine will surely understand what Im talking about here. She was very good. The other nail stylist here that did my nails are good too like Vena and Don. I love their massage chair! It relaxes me while getting a foot spa. I am very thankful that I found this place. They are all nice here and I have my nails haven now.

Heads up, there is a NEW $1 charge if you use your credit or debit card. This new policy happened with no warning or signs being posted, instead after my card was given is when I was informed. The owner Holly said the DMV charges fees and would just not listen that it should be posted to start a new policy like that. She was then quite rude about it when I tried to explain laws on accepting credit/debit cards. While other places are going cashless the owner is now pushing cash. Encouraged to go somewhere else, I just might have to do that. Paying an extra $1 is not the problem, because next time I know to bring cash with me - but some kind of warning would have been appreciated. It is her shop so she can do as she wants, of course.They have raised prices a few times in the last year, which I understood to keep them a float during Covid and a salon that was quite empty for months. I have stayed a regular this whole time.I do love Chris and the incredible job she does on my nails/waxing! She is always so creative and happily agrees with the out of the box ideas I want to try or helps pick a color when I am indecisive. She keeps me looking my best, which is the only reason I go back. The 4 stars is 100% because of Chris and her fantastic work!

Called them and asked if I can come in for no chip removal without an appointment and they said I can come anytime without an appointment for that service and that they would take care of me right away. I asked if I can come in now and they said sure. Walked 15 min to their shop and told me I needed to wait an hour upon arrival. If you can’t take a customer do not be deceiving just to get them to come in. I will not be back. They also had 4 other customers sitting and waiting and I’m sure they were frustrated too. Do not recommend.

I have been going to Elegant Nails on Wells for years - ever since they moved into Old Town - and I have NEVER EVER had a bad experience. I especially like how on time they are and considerate of my busy schedule.MANY of us long-time customers did what it took to help them stay open during Covid. And SO WHAT if they now need to charge $1 for credit cards. Get over it!!!I would not go anywhere else. And Holly is the ABSOLUTE BEST!!! She always goes beyond the call of duty to make sure my nails look perfect.Make sure you ask for Holly or Vina.

I came in this shop on a whim, and I was not disappointed! I showed a reference photo, and it was executed flawlessly. I cant wait to come back for my next manicure. Great range of polish shades, lovely staff and service, and the shop was very clean!

Holly and Vena are the best! They are so welcoming and Elegant Nails on Wells is the best nail salon ever. Friends of mine from LA have even gone and said it’s the best of the best! Holly does the quickest dip manicure and Vena is a true artist with nail art. All the workers at Elegant are amazing and you can’t go wrong with whoever you get.

They don’t have uv/led lamps to dry nails, only a small fan. Once the tech was done painting my nails she gets up with out saying anything and just leave me seated until I ask someone else how long I should stay in front of the fan. Won’t be back for another acrylic set.

This is my new favorite nail salon! They do a fantastic job every time - I used to hate dip powder because it looked thick but every time I get it done here It’s beautiful, as thin as a no chip manicure and lasts incredibly long - I get it redone or taken off after 3 weeks because of how long my nails have grown out, and it usually hasn’t even chipped by then. Great color selection too. Highly recommend!

Today was the last straw, after 3 years of patronizing this business twice a month I have had enough with the owner, the fake way she treats her customers and the way she treats her employees. They have started charging a $1 fee when you use a credit or debit card. This fee suddenly started today (June 1, 2021) with no previous warning and no signs posted anywhere in the shop. I was also not given the opportunity to go get cash as they were busy and short handed. When the salon was empty due to Covid I remained a regular customer making sure they got business. In the last 3 years I have continued to be a client because I genuinely like the nail tech that has taken care of me, but the owner has lost my business. I have looked past the steps, the outdated feel of the shop, the overall not so clean look with materials and chairs not sanitized between clients, the unlicensed techs and overall sanitation practices just to name a few issues. Then to know the owner Holly was talking about me in Vietnamese when I brought up the new fee that was imposed without consent or warning, makes me realize she does not care about the clients at all. I will not be bringing anyone in or recommending this nail salon to anyone anymore. Prices keep going up and now unadvertised fees, stay away! There are plenty of other nail salons in the area, no need to give this place your business.

Honestly best mani/pedi every time I go! Everyone is so nice/efficient. On the last 2 occasions that I have gone, while getting my pedicure another nail stylist starts on my manicure. I have never been to a nail salon with such hard work ethic. They really value your time and business. They don’t disappoint! Highly recommend.

Full set no chip is 60 bucks. Affordable compared to other salons in the area. They also do waxing and eyelash extensions here. Very relaxing environment. Clean. Extremely comfy pedicure massage chairs... Very cushy. I went on a Sunday morning. I did have to wait about ten minutes as they were busy. If you live in the area and can walk here, its perfect!! Great location in Old Town and you are treated WELL!

The people here are just amazing. They guy was soooooo friendly and was explaining the feeling powder was because Ive never done that before. They truly make you feel comfortable while there. Not to forget their amazing work and you can tell that they put their heart into their work. Now I can finally say i found a good place I can keep going to. LOVE THIS PLACE!

I have gone to this nail shop for maybe 7-8 yrs. Even when they were located on Clark street. I have NEVER had a bad experience here. Sometimes, when you have an issue, its as easy as speaking up. I generally get my service from the manager, Holly, who is always pleasant and always professional. Also, remember not all nail techs provide the same service. Do not ASSUME that someone is receiving special treatment because you were there first and they were serviced first. Maybe the only nail tech available at the moment does not do the service for which you are there. YES they should say something but you could also speak up before heading to the internet and trying to ruin a GREAT business. This place is amazing! I highly recommend!!!!

Ive been coming here for years. No matter what I want to try or if I just want my regular nail mani/pedi and eyebrow wax, the entire staff is so friendly and ready to help. Today I got tips and a dip powder manicure for a special occasion this weekend. I am absolutely speechless as to how beautiful my nails look. Anything you need, this salon will knock it out of the park!

Went with my sisters and Mom and had a great time! The staff was so nice and did an excellent job! Incredibly adorable too! Tim built my dips beautifully and I love them! This will be a spot I visit every time Im in Chicago!

Elegant Nails on Wells was my go to. I moved to the neighborhood in October and have gone here every two weeks since. But over the last couple months the services has been horrible.My visit 2 weeks ago (with an appointment) I showed up on time and someone started my bi-weekly gel manicure right away. Half way through my manicure a “regular” came in and the manager Sue told my manicurist to stop my manicure and assist this “regular” customer. My half hour manicure turned into an hour and half manicure because I wasn’t helped then for another 30 minutes after that. I then went in yesterday (again with an appointment) and I got one of the less skilled technicians (she sometimes manages the store and can be quite flakey when she is answering the phone and assisting customers at the same time). But Sue was there to manage the store so I figured I’d give her another chance. My manicure turned out horrible. I take really good care of my nails and like to wear my nails longer, but this technician chopped my nails short with clippers (which I never do, just a quick file). The nail polish was very sloppy and all over my fingers. My left had got 3 coats of polish, my right got 2 coats of polish, and both hands are starting to bubble after just 12 hours.I have always been a HUGE supporter of this shop. I live and work in the neighborhood and try to push them when a co-worker or friend needs a manicure/ pedicure. But I just cant support a business who doesn’t value all of the customers. I am taking my business to another shop on Wells.If you are thinking about stopping in I hope you have a better experience than I did.

Sue and Holly always do my no chip mani and/or pedi and do a great job (plus efficient!) You cant beat what you get for the price so it is a good value. I suggest making an appointment or calling first to see if busy. They are often quite busy; that shouts success. I read other comments and always would suggest that customers speak up about what they want and length of nails they prefer; if they cut one too short - then just speak up ! Just like in cabs, if you dont want them on the phone while you are in the cab - just mention it and they are very accommodating and care.

Ive always been one to tell the truth so here goes! I have been here MANY times off and on over the years and Ive never left dissatisfied but today is going to be an exception due to the fact that all my nails are a different length, my cuticles are misshapen and dry and my nail technician chopped my nails way too short before I could stop her. Ive been wearing my nails long and stiletto shaped for longer than a year and today I came here and asked Holly to take down the length for me so my nails could be a bit healthier but she chopped the majority of the length off and Im stuck with a chunky, stubby, almond shape as opposed to the longer and more graceful stiletto shape Im used to. Today was incredibly strange because Holly rushed through filing my nails and seemed preoccupied and now I have a chunkier nail shape with my chrome powder hanging around the cuticles of every nail because she didnt use the nail machine to buffer out my cuticles so at the end she absolutely stunned me with a new price which was $60 as opposed to the price of $55 I paid for the same service three weeks ago. Im kind of angry because I brought my own chrome powder so its not like they used their powder on me so I feel the services should have been $10 lower because we used MY chrome powder not theirs. Normally after receiving a nail service I receive major compliments throughout the day especially on the same day I leave a nail salon; but I can assure you I didnt receive a single compliment today and now honestly Im going to search for a new salon where I wont feel so rushed. At the end of my services I felt regret that I asked her to shorten the length because now every nail is a completely different shape and length because Holly really rushed as she clipped and filed my nails down. I tipped her and politely asked if I could reschedule for two weeks from today but Holly was very vague about rescheduling me because she said sometimes she takes days off and I should call two days before Im due and that since I had paid her using my credit card and tipped her in cash she would prefer cash from now on. Im sorry but I expect better more thoughtful service because even though they do have a good variety of no chip colors they definitely dont have a good selection of chrome powders nor does Holly take her time shaping my nail into a proper shape and length. They do not have a listing for set prices here for chrome powder nails nor do they have nail art here so Ive decided to search for a nail artist here in Chicago and preferably some individual who will take the time needed to perfect a beautiful nail shape especially if Im spending $60 and tipping $12 on top of a service. Ive been here off and on and Holly seems to be one of the few nail technicians experienced with acrylic fill and no chip chrome. Im a very honest person and I do love it when someone I entrust with my nails is super careful when executing a shape I request. Im really kind of hurt about this negative experience especially since Im loyal and consistent with tipping. I also dont like the fact that Holly suggested cash is better than credit card transactions for a nail service. Im sorry I expect a better skillset for the money Im being charged especially because the price increased from just three weeks ago and I received zero compliments. THANKFULLY nails grow and I can move on from this negative experience but Im definitely not interested in returning here because I like a non rushed experience.
