Service was nice. However it was not really explained what was done with the car (safety recall). Just asked to sign a form. Didnt get a copy of that form either. When asked what was done - the rep did not seem to have the full scope of the problem or solution. Just told me the car was ok. I would appreciate more transparency and reps who fully take the time to make sure any and all customer questions are answered.

Worst experience Ive ever had at a service center. We had an appointment at 9:15 for an oil change and wasnt taken care of until 9:40. The car was supposed to be ready by 12 the latest but then we approved of the extra service that we were told the car needed. We called a little past 6 to see what was going on with our car because it was at the service center the whole day and the woman who answered the phone told us that everyone from the service center left already. Not once did they call us to let us know the car was ready to be picked up and we needed the car so this was a huge inconvenience. So we had to pick the car up this morning but we made sure to pay for the services online this way we could be in and out but yet again we were wrong. We waited an hour for the cashier to arrive for her shift because the man handling the cars couldnt figure out whether or not we paid online because nothing was documented. She then came in and attempted to charge us again so we had to explain to another person how we paid online already. Completely unprofessional and the girl didnt even bother to wear a mask.
Very busy location due to the Service Workers Strike. Christine took awesome care of us. She followed up, provided step by step details of our car status. Great communicator, caring, and she remembered me from a previous visit YEARS AGO!
David Bushey was fantastic as all way! If it wasn’t because of David I would miss out on the great services. I love his positive energy! He make my visit very enjoyable and not stress out! David customer service was awesome! He was able to make sure my car was in great shape before heading out of town. Lucky I came in for an oil change on they that he was working because he wouldn’t him and the team knew that I was overdue for new spark plug I would not feel comfortable driving on the road for 4 hours! Had previously bought a car and had maintenance done here with always great experiences . May 2021 scheduled oil change and tire rotation at 8:00am on a Sat morning. Was admitted around 8:15 am which was OK. I asked then also for an estimate for sealing a detached rear fender molding. ETA 1 hour and a half. Never was called by them back which is my main reason for low rating; had to call twice myself to get the papers, the car and leave around 11:00am. I did not order the molding (the recommended full replacement), but it was 3hrs without callback for oil & tire rotation

Scheduling the appointment was simple on their website. The check in process was thorough and I was given a quote that ended up being very accurate. All staff (Thanks Eduardo!) were friendly and quick to help! The service time was only 30 minutes longer than estimated and they were clearly having a busy day. They also washed my car! 😀 Overall, I had a good experience and intend to continue using them for my car maintenance needs.

My car been at there shop for almost 2 weeks there is a Engine recall the person who help me is Chistine she is a Service Advisor she has bad customer service dont know how to speak to the customer correctly and try to make Manager decision, I did a oil Consumption test my last step was to bring the car in 4 times on the 4 time they keep the car and let Hyundai know whats going on, this has been all over the News about Hyundai Engine Recall, the car is still not fix but I am being told to pick it up I spoke to a Manager Chris who told me that the car is ready I ask him did he speak to Hyundai because he want me to drive the car again for 1000 miles I ask him did hyundai tell him that he said yes so I ask Chris for the name and number of who he spoke to and Chris the Manager couldnt give me that information because he said the computer told him that Chris the Manager should have been speaking to hyundai about me a new enginedo

Terrible service! After buying a new car I was promised to make all buffing and painting issue done. After first appointment only buffing was done and they offered me to do painting with first oil change! I did not paid a lot of money for this new car to wait 7500 mile to get it prepare as promised! Customer serviced did not called me back after many request and remainders. Second time I left my car and when I came to pick it up they even didnt know where it is and result was that no one did anything with it! After 3rd appointment finally painting was done but I could do it better by myself using polish nails, at least I could match better color. I wasted a lot or nerves and time! They dont care about customer, they care only about the money to sold the care ban be bye! I regret buying a car in this Hyundai location. Think twice before you go there...
Scheduling a service appointment with them is absolutely impossible! I’ve called them over 10 times to schedule a valet pickup but the person responsible is never available. I haven’t been called back once as they promised and they also don’t share an email where I can reach out.
This was my first time at McGrath Hyundai. My regular car service mechanics are on strike and I needed maintenance immediately. Prior to strike it was difficult getting an appointment. The service at McGrath is fantastic! The staff were very friendly and professional and the waiting room was very comfortable. I look forward to returning for my next scheduled maintenance.
I enjoyed the whole process and felt welcome at McGrath City Hyundai. From meeting John, my salesman, to negotiating with him and Kevin, the Sales Manager, I felt like I was treated fairly, was given reasonable expectations, and VERY good and thorough training on the features of the car. The team collaborated well and I very much appreciated that. They got me through financing and the other steps efficiently and I never felt “forgotten.”

Avoid this dealership. Bought a brand new 2021 Sonata here and the car had dings and scratches on it already from the gravel parking lot they keep the cars in and how the salesman drive the cars. They tried selling me the car for 45K which is insane. After getting it for MSRP they still try adding over 4K in random “fees and services.” They didn’t even sign me up for the 3 year/36 month maintenance plan. I called Hyundai USA and they signed me up for it. My brand new car is having problems already (300 miles) and all they did was reset the lights (that’s NOT how you solve the problem). Of course the problem is still there. At 2,400 miles and my dashboard looks like a Christmas tree. I tried making an appointment and they told me they’re busy for 2 weeks. I’ve already contacted corporate and received a case number (they were super helpful). Save yourself the headache of having a Hyundai vehicle and go shop at Toyota.
I’ve been going to McGrath dealership to service my car since I’ve gotten my car in 2013. They get the job done but but not always the friendliest trustworthy way. They will be nice to over the phone and tell you they will throw in some extra services but they don’t follow through. They say you can use coupons from their site but when you get there to pay the bill they begrudgingly tell you that you should have told them earlier. In the end I got a little bit of discount but felt like it was pulling teeth. I also feel like they should give you complementary car washes after spending over $1000 on repairs but I didn’t get one. It seems random when they decide they want to give my car a wash or not.

Not an honest dealership. Tried charging me almost 17k over sticker for a car. They will rip you off faster than you can say Better Business Bureau. Do yourself a favor and look at a different dealership for a car. Youll get yourself a much better deal.

Wish I could select no stars. This place kept my car for two days without a single phone call to give me an update. Called 3 times only to finally be told, my car had not been looked at. Service department doesnt seem to think we need our cars to get around. No sense of urgency. Will not return here in the future.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. My husband called on a Thursday to make an appointment to test drive a specific vehicle that Saturday. By then the car was sold, which makes total sense, no problem there, it happens. We went in to take advantage of the 0% financing and we specifically asked if it was possible to get the exact make and model we asked to test drive even if they didn’t have it in stock. We didn’t mind going to another dealership but we were assured they could get the car in by Monday. We made sure to ask if we would still get the 0% even if we had to wait and the sales guy said, “yeah, of course, we’ll take care of all that” and had us initial some paper. Monday rolls around, my husband calls the dealership and he’s told to wait until Tuesday. Tuesday rolls around and my husband calls and they got the wrong color. Wednesday we’re told we can get it Saturday. He goes in on Saturday and he’s told that they can’t honor the 0% because it’s a Hyundai offer and they won’t even negotiate the price. This whole process with them has been so unprofessional and unnecessarily complicated. As someone who does sales for a living, I can honestly say these people are only in it for the sale and don’t care about the customer. They were so adamant about locking in a price and after they did, they completely ignored everything else that was promised to us. The manager didn’t even make an effort to fix things and basically said, “it is what it is”. We had purchased our last vehicle from them but they are definitely not getting any future business from us.

Jesse is amazing! I went in knowing exactly what vehicle I wanted and he wasnt pushy but did ask for my criteria just to double check that there werent others that I may want to explore. He was very helpful with the cars electronics and information about it to make sure I understood fully what the car had to offer before leaving the lot. He was sure to offer all financial options and scenarios. He always kept us in the know of what was happening while we waited for paperwork and the finalization of the process. He also followed up a few days after to ensure I was happy with the vehicle!

Took my car in on a Saturday and was able to receive assistance and was told Tuesday what was wrong with my car. Mr. Randy helped me out and was very nice, as well as keep me updated about everything. Although I was told the parts need to fix my vehicle was on backorder...it took them max 4 days to work on it. I was without my car for a total of 6 days but that was less then I expected and was happy. Absolutely great service!

Great work engine wise. But when they said your car will be ready and clean. Oh it was ready but not cleaned up at all. I had car grease all over both driver and passenger side doors on the inside. My interior is grey and it was well showed. I didnt expect a detailed cleaning job but that was very unprofessional. Apart from that they are great.

Bought a Hyundai Elantra from here in December 2020. Frankie was my salesman and he did a great job. Only issue with the buying process was that they did not include a manual or car mats. In fact, I had to go back and ask for a manual, but thats on me for not checking. Still, I shouldnt have had to check.A couple weeks after buying the car, the low tire pressure indicator came on. I put air in the tire and it went away. A couple weeks later it came on again, so I took it to the service dept. Long story short, they tried to tell me that nothing was wrong with the tire and that the low pressure was because of the cold weather. This isnt my first car. I know that cold weather can cause low pressure, but not repeatedly. Fast forward to spring 2021: I didnt drive much in Jan or Feb, as this is my second car. In April, I started driving more once the weather warmed up and the low tire pressure indicator started coming on again. This time I took it to Discount Tire and LOW AND BEHOLD they showed me that the rear right tire had been damaged and plugged. Thats why the tire pressure kept getting low. Basically, McGrath Hyundai sold me a car with a bum tire and then tried to cover it up when I bought it in for service. Needless to say, I wont be going back to McGrath.
Took my car in to get a clutch replaced on my Tiburon. They gave me 4 different ready for pick up dates. Kept giving me the run around on what was going on. Never once asked if a rental was needed. After a week and in need of my car I requested a rental. Nine days later car was ready. On the way home everything seemed fine until I noticed that the speedometer was not working. I called and I told them about it. Now I have to waste another day to go back and get that fixed. They had more than enough time to check that everything was working properly.

This is in regards to my most recent service visit. I had an 11am appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. I was told that they were a little behind but it should be done between 1 and 1:30. It’s now almost 4pm and I’m still waiting. They texted my inspection form, which said my tire tread was low. Not buying it, as my car is only 3 years old and two of my tires were replaced less than a year ago due to one getting a bubble on a road trip. Unfortunately these are the reasons why I stopped using the service department at the dealer that I bought the car from and tried McGrath.
Nothing but headaches since I bought my 2021 Hyundai Sonata. Avoid them and buy Toyota or Honda.
Everything was fine until we started talking price. They added on a $2,500 McGrath package with no explanation of what it includes. This is a total “price add-on scam”. We walked away and purchased a car with identical features at another dealer without the “McGrath” scam package and saved thousands of dollars. So if you’re reading this review and are planning on going to this dealership, DON’T!!! I’d give them a zero star if I had this option.
Very bad customer service. My moms car has been there for a while now and everytime we try to call Eddie he avoids the phone calls and he never calls us back. My father has been trying to get ahold of him for weeks and he has to call corporate in order to get ahold of anyone at the store. This is very frustrating for all of us and in my eyes the worst customer service we have ever dealt with. I will never recommend anyone to go to this location and feel bad for anyone who has to deal with Eddie.

He was fast, experienced, and took us right to what we were looking for without beating around the bush.Our second car from them, and well certainly recommend them to anyone we know.
Shoutout to Mohammad, who despite being told that I was only looking to test drive a car to compare against some competitors, and had no intention of making a deal that day, continued to back me into a corner trying to make a deal, and eventually belittled me and accused me of wasting his time. Fortunately for him, that car is still sitting on the lot several weeks later and he still has the opportunity to sell it, all the while having repeated multiple times that it would be gone in a matter of days given the current market. He also, along with the other staff, chose not to wear masks whilst for some reason standing practically on top (seriously, why?) of me not only when discussing the deal indoors, but also while test driving the car. Good luck selling “upscale” vehicles when your staff treats you as if you’re buying a $3,000 beater car.

Great conciege service associated with their Genesis dealership. They brought a very nice loaner for us to use while they took and service our Genesis SUV. They arrived as previously scheduled including a reminder call as the valet left the dealership. Same level of professionalism on the return. They called and explained the completed service work, the valet called as he left the dealership, he arrived on time with our SUV washed. I cannot image a more convenient service program (free for the first three years or 36,000 miles). Thank you Connie, Randy and Carlos.
Where do I start,FRAUD - WRONGFUL or criminal DECEPTION intended to result in FINANCIAL or personal GAIN.Went there to purchase a brand new 2022 vehicle. Everything seemed fine - the salesman was nice it genuinely seems that they were trying to move things along. All of that changed when they brought the initial offer for the new vehicle. They tried selling me a so-called McGrath Package and even now I cant tell you what it is since I got three different answers from three different people. I declined this package multiple times until the salesman said and I quote My boss said to let you go, due to the vehicle shortage we can sell the vehicle to someone else with the McGrath package. I asked if this package is mandatory then, and I cannot purchase the vehicle without getting this package to which he replied yes. I reluctantly said ok if I cant purchase the vehicle without it I guess I have no choice.I called the next day and asked to speak with a manager to find out if this package was truly mandatory. The manager said “yes it is, ALL our vehicles come preinstalled with this package already, since it includes door guards and an extra brake light. Well get this my vehicle has no door guards and no extra brake lightFast forward to 5/12/2021My aunt goes in to purchase a new vehicle, Honda Pilot, and her salesperson removed this McGrath package off of the purchase price of her vehicle. I thought this was mandatory McGrath??I was DECEIVED into purchasing the car solely on the notion I had to purchase this package (Approx $2500 - FINANCIAL GAIN) Furthermore I paid for it and its not even on my vehicle.Warning to anyone purchasing anything from them, their so called McGrath Package is not only B.S it is NOT mandatory....!
Every time I go to this dealership to get work done to my car I most of the time get Ed Velega! He’s awesome and never tries to tell you you need something done on your car when it doesn’t need to be done! He’s got a great personality on top of it! If it wasn’t for him I probably wouldn’t even come here. I also sometimes have the woman Christine and she is great also!

The car Sales person Mahammed Ali spent a few hours of his time to help me find a great car and get a great deal on it as well as insurance. Now I’m able to get back and forward to work. Dave was super helpful and offered to do whatever he could to help. I understand this is trying times and there is a car shortage but I was never offered a loaner which would have drastically helped. There are a few areas where there is room for improvement I showed up to the dealership at 5:50 because google says service department closes at 7 on Saturdays but they closed at 6. When I walked up there was a group of employees smoking and hanging out no big deal, but I was told no one was there to get my car. They are closed on Sundays so that left me without a car till Monday and my wife had to move around her schedule to pick car up. This could have been handled better by both parties myself included. They did apologize and offer to reach out if we needed anything further.

One of the worst dealership! They don’t honor their online price. Tried to charge $2500 certification fee for a certified pre-owned vehicle. The manager was very rude and kept telling lies. A sales person kept touching my own vehicle to make it dirty. Don’t come to here!

Came in to look and leave with the Hyundai Sante Fe Calligraphy in the show room with intentions of trading in my SUV as well. The salesman did not seem like he even wanted to help (so that was a red flag) any questions i asked about how leasing works, I was given general short answers that were not helpful. When we sat down he went to get my car appraised (which I already had at multiple dealerships prior and was given quotes of (27-29k). He comes back and asked what color my car was because it was a unique color. I stated it was a shade of blue-- he responded with oh I thought it was burnt orange (which now lead me to assume no one even looked at my car because my car is NOWHERE hear orange). Offered me 23k. Then stated I can just pay the difference, I told him I was not about to do that but thanks for his time. He then made a comment about me not having the money to pay the difference.Originally, I was excited because that was the color I was wanting with additional features that Santa Fes near me did not have-- this completely ruined the experience and chances of wanting to buy or refer people here in the future.

Love the service department here. Every time I go, they are up front about cost, are quick and have me out before they estimated. My only complaint is that they are lax at best about mask use. Many of the staff are wearing masks below their nose or not at all, mostly when talking to each other. Giving them 5 stars but hoping they read this and take mask use more seriously.
I was very happy with my recent visit to McGrath City Hyundai. I brought myvehicle in for a recall service. Eddy Vellega was my Service Advisor and he provided a very professional service. He kept me constantly updated on the progress and the work was completely in the promised timeframe. During inspection of the car, I was also advised an issue with my 2 rear tires. Eddy took the time to show me the exact problem and provided a very fair estimate to replace the tires. I called a few other place to get some quotes. I found that the cost at McGrath City Hyundai was comparable, and in most cases better, than other places.I can not thank Eddy and the team at McGrath City Hyundai enough for providing an honest, professional and high-quality service.

I have called the service department 3 separate times, and each time am told they are too busy to talk, so they will call me back. I have yet to receive a single call back. I can sympathize with being busy, but I cannot understand not being able to find time to return a call to a customer with an open recall on a vehicle purchased in 2020. I’ve also received conflicting information regarding maintenance plans, and each time I come in I am told something different.
Mohammed Ali was amazing. He took his time to understand our vehicle needs. We walked away happily with a beautiful Honda Pilot for our growing family! Thank Mohammad!

However, I am glad to say that for the first time in a long time, the service advisor that received my car was honest.Honesty is a perk that is hard to find in this kind of business, however she is. I am glad that McGrath, have Christine within her team.As a costumer I dont ask for much but honesty. Due to her outstanding service, I will keep bringing my car to this location.

The worst first time car buying experience. Im writing this review to help you save money. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE.The salesman, Chris, seemed like a good guy at first. But he charged the car to be the Limited trim to make me pay $23,200 for a $22,000 car. Finally after some arguing, he removed that portion and he showed me the paperwork on what we were agreeing to for a $22,000 MSRP Elantra 2021. After taxes, fees, license, title, other things, it came out to around $25,000.BEWARE: They will add this thing called the McGrath Package which is essentially a way for them to overcharge you for the car by offering you windshield crack fixes for free, and car key replacement. Overall to make this worth the outrageous $3000 they slap onto your car, youd have to crack your windshield like 30 times or lose your keys 10 times. DO NOT AGREE TO A DOLLAR OF THIS. WALK AWAY FROM THE DEAL IF YOU HAVE TO. Other places will give you a better price.So I sat and split hairs to try to negotiate that price down to around $1000. Huge mistake on my part, I should have walked. They intentionally used sales tactics like wasting my time and walking away to their manager, enacting the sunk cost fallacy on me. I had been there for hours and wanted a car.So FINALLY we agreed to an out the door price of $26,000. Which is a lot over MSRP ($4000 more). Then I waited for even more to get to the finance guy.This is where things got horrible. The slimiest guy Ive met, Eldin, wrote out the contract and intentionally held the actual document in his hands while he made me click on an iPad. I made the mistake of trusting this guy; I was exhausted after 5 hours of being there and wanted the car.IMPORTANT: Turns out what they did was the initial $26,000 was not the out the door price at all, they made that the purchase price of the car and slapped all the fees on again. I made a huge mistake not fine combing the contract, granted Eldin was holding it away from me. so the car ended up being another $4000 more.He also tried adding a service contract on, which I told him i didnt want. He argued and STILL put it on despite him acting like he removed (it has since been canceled). These scumbags try to sell an extended warranty on a car that has a 10 year 100K mile powertrain and 6 year 60K mile any issue you have warranty.TLDR; This is the scummiest car dealership there is. The epitome of what you think of the stereotype being. They double charged me taxes & fees, added things without my consent. At the end of the day, Im stuck with this deal but if I can help one person online from dealing with these guys, it has been successful. Im currently looking into a lawyer.TO DO LIST if you genuinely want a car from here:- DONT BUY FROM THEM- The moment they mess up numbers, walk away. They will do this multiple times.- Know the McGrath package is their commission. They will fight tooth and nail to keep this as high as possible.- Their little worksheet the sales guy goes over with you, keep it before going into the financing office. They will lie and change things in the final contract.- The sales price you agree to with the salesman is not includingtaxes/title/fees/plates even if he says it does. They will take that to the financing team and act like thats the MSRP price you agreed to and slap the fees/taxes/plates/title on top of that price again.- Reread the actual contract in the financing office and contest EVERYTHING. If they argue, walk away. Do not deal with them, you are doing them a favor buying from them.- Do not agree to the service contract under any circumstance. You can cancel it if they do slip it in there though.

The service lane is a machine. I thought that for as busy as they were that I was in for another hurry up and wait moment. This was not the case. I was met quickly by Dave who ran through their services on the tablet (which immediately, the tablet presented to me their investment in productivity so kudos). They texted me when the work was complete within about an hour.This experience was vastly different from the one at Lincolnwood and my business is definitely switching.
My experience at McGrath City Hyundai was awesome, aside from the overall great family vibes, Mohammed Ali was VERY helpful and accommodating when it came to my needs and wants. Highly recommend them to put you in the car you want to drive!
I have been going here for years to have work done on my car. I appreciate that the salesman are helpful and want to tempt you with a new car every time you come in but arent pushy if you decline. Mechanics do pretty good work, only a few issues, largely handled by managers. I plan to upgrade soon and stay within the McGrath family.
