Let me start off by saying, the apartments are nice and there location is great… BUT the majority of the amenities are rarely available… and if so, usually they are not as advertised. Management is unwilling to really make any effort to move things along and get them up and running again… they just make excuses. The people who live here are great… everyone is kind… but, the amenities need work, to say the least. To name a few items- the grills are broken on the rooftop balcony, we cannot access the rooftop balcony, a window fell out of the 42nd floor so we cannot open our windows or use the lower level terrace to walk our dogs or cut through to that side of the neighborhood, the hot tub is not hot and the sauna isn’t either, I wasn’t able to access the dog bath on a Sunday and no one was able to provide me access… an elliptical in the gym has been broken for months. RARELY anything is done about these matters and if so, it is all VERY SLOW. For a luxury building, it is rather sad.
Lived here for just under 2 years now. What started out as a great exciting new chapter has turned into a poorly managed construction site. The building management is unorganized, and our once beautiful apartment is a now extremely overpriced. Would not recommend this building to any of my friends. The only good thing remaining about this building are the front desk workers who always put a smile on our face. If you enjoy waiting 30 minutes for an elevator because they’re never working… this is the place for you!
I moved in about 6 weeks ago and have been greatly impressed by my experience thus far. The concierge team is wonderful. The views are breathtaking and the amenities are great - especially when working from home. I hear people in the hall outside my door but other than that its very quiet. The apartment is in a great location making it easy to walk to work, grocery stores, and convenience stores.
Wolf Point West is an amazing property with very attentive staff. I just moved in after being at another luxury apartment building in River North and this one is much better in many ways: being on the water makes it uniquely quiet (and beautiful) for being right in the action of the city, the gym is on the top floor with spectacular views, and the apartment itself is great. If you are looking for a luxury apartment that is reasonably priced and offers amenities that are hard for even the most expensive of buildings to match, then this place is for you!
Extremely excited to live at Wolf Point West after signing a lease recently and touring the building and its amenities! Caitlin from the Leasing Team was super helpful and professional both during and after our tour. Extremely knowledgeable and responsive with any follow-up questions I had. The views from the units as well as from the amenities on both the ground and 46th floors cant be beat. The rent specials were also extremely competitive with other buildings around the area which made my decision much easier!!
Wolf Point West is arguably one of the greatest apartment buildings in Chicago. The building is well maintained and management is very welcoming and helpful. The amenities are top notch as well.
I’ve just recently moved into Wolf Point West. The management was very helpful and made the entire leasing process so easy! The building and amenities are top tier, and the views can’t be beat! It’s the perfect building in the heart of the city!
I just recently moved into the building about a month ago. I would see you literally cannot beat the views and the location! The amenities are great, the gym has everything you could need (except a peloton) and the pool looks super nice, I can’t wait to enjoy it this summer.I am only giving 3 stars because I have had issues with the front desk concierge not being super nice as well as a rowdy neighbor across the hall. I realize these factors are mostly out of their control, other than the fact that the walls are very thin. However, the management team was super responsive when I told them this issue and they seem like they want to resolve them. I will update this review if/when that happens but overall I have had a great experience so far.
When I moved into Wolf Point West two years ago, under the new management, I only had good things to say about the place. Really great management team, kind door staff who knew my name and made the building feel like a home, and top notch amenities. The little touches like hot towels in the gym, hot tub on cool days, the top floor lounge which was reservable for a very reasonable hourly rate, etc. made the building feel really luxurious. As another review mentioned, the Wolf Point West resident experience has declined a bit for me in the past year. COVID-19 and amenity closures as a result are to blame for some of this - the best part of WPW is the great amenities and COVID has caused a lot of amenity closures! That said, the hot tub hasnt been open in 11 months (I am told this is a city policy, but struggle to believe this when my friends buildings in Chicago have open hot tubs). The new door staff (with the exception of Rueben, hes great and was around with the old management) arent quite as knowledgeable and helpful as the seasoned ones who retired were, but it is possible they will get up to speed with time.I should edit my original review to state that the management team (Dallas, in particular) have been immensely helpful through my process of moving to a new unit within the building. Im adding a star to my initial review as Im impressed by Dallas kindness and going out of his way to make my building experience a good one!
Going from a building with little/older amenities, cant wait to experience all that Wolf Point West has to offer! Also, the leasing agent answered every single one of my questions following my tour of the building!
Great building in an awesome location that has friendly staff and awesome amenities. The move in process was made incredibly easy.
I signed with WPW and will be moving in at the end of March. I currently live in another luxury building downtown, but I was blown away by the amenities and floor plans that this building has to offer.Throughout the leasing process, I worked with Caitlin. She was extremely personable, and it literally felt like a friend was showing me around the building. During the tour, 2 people mentioned to me how I need to sign at WPW, and here are my takeaways from those conversations:1. The fact that random strangers would talk me into moving to their building tells me that there is a strong sense of community; Im sure resident events are great, and Im excited to interact with the many friendly faces at this location.2. The building must be good if someone speaks highly of it without even being asked. Not to make this super long, but one last thing to note about the leasing team is that they have each others backs and you can feel that they are a well-coordinated team. Caitlin was on vacation as I was finishing up my leasing process (which, by the way, anyone should take vacation when they can during these tough times), and Tuti immediately stepped in and helped answer the final questions I had ahead of signing my lease. When you are living in a building, you want to feel the most comfortable, but this will not happen if management or the leasing team are awkward/uncomfortable or have a bad dynamic. Thankfully, at WPW, this is a non-issue, so once you step into the building, you can relax because you are officially home.
This is by far the best apartment building in Chicago. It is safe, clean, and the staff is top notch. They always go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. The leasing agent is beyond helpful and the maintenance staff are friendly and very responsive.I have been renting for over 8 years and I have never had the type of service that Marco, Carlton, and Alex were able to provide. The amenities are fantastic and the location is A++. Located in the heart of the city and the world at your fingertips yet is still quiet and tranquil.I moved into the apartment without even taking a tour and havent looked back. I highly recommend living here.
I lived here fall 2019-fall 2020. Things started going downhill pretty quickly after the property was bought by Hines. The new management is very hard to get a hold of, even if you have a pest problem, as was my case. Over the summer, security at WPW became a big issue. On weekends and sometimes weeknights, dozens of people come off the street to party, do drugs, dance, yell, scream, etc. on our grounds—on the river walk on the lower level, the gardens out front, and the stairs on the river. I and other residents do feel safe walking our dogs. Then, a couple weeks ago, there was an armed robbery/home invasion in the building. I no longer felt safe there and was very glad when my lease expired. The building is in a great location with beautiful views. It’s a shame things have taken a turn for the worse over previous months. It’s up to management to turn it around.
Building was nice when my brother first moved in. Now its a disaster. The place is now very dirty.
My wife and I lived at the building for more than 24 months now, with what started as a wonderful building has devolved into a cheaply-run B-class apartment building. This is 100% due to ownerships greedy prioritization of profit over integrity during a global pandemic.More specifically, my wife and I were forced to sign a renewal during the beginning of the pandemic, as ownership was unwilling to give us time to explore other options as Covid cases were starting to rise (sign now or move out now).As conditions in the general Chicago area and at the building worsened, due to Covid-19 and civil unrest, ownership did little to nothing to address the issues. There were no signs in elevators mandating social distancing, no process for packages in common areas, all amenities were closed without a corresponding change in rent, and in late 2020 there was an armed robbery in the building, for which ownership and management did absolutely nothing to encourage the residents they were safe (literally nothing, no communication, nothing). My wife and I have asked ownership for a one month early release from our lease, which we have paid timely above-market rent for the last 12 months. Ownership refused to do anything other than enforce the unreasonable lease we were coerced into signing, letter by letter. Its safe to say ownership does everything in its power to sell you into the building, then they disappear and turn into greedy landlords. Also, the third WPW building is being developed right now, which will block all East-looking views (the best by far), making this building even less appealing.Stay away.Note - this picture is from the 33rd floor, with construction planned above all 46 floors of WPW.
Beautiful unit and views. The front desk staff were very professional, friendly and nice. Its not in the middle of a busy street and not to much foot traffic which is good. The only issue was that it would be cool to have and indoor pool/jacuzzi. Other than that Im grateful. Reuben, Phil, and Carlton are very kind . Carlton was trying to help me move in with the cart but I was trying to be tough and do it all alone. I hope I wasnt rude to him but hes was so helpful and kind. Lol, thanks!
The people have Wolf Point West have been so great to work with and really helpful! Jennifer Poisson has been easy to work with and was really responsive to all of my questions and kept me updated throughout the whole rental process. Carlton Buck was also super helpful in providing me additional unit showings and answering my questions too!! Both were always responsive and replied to me same day! Thanks to such a patient and helpful team!
I have been living at Wolf Point West for 18 months and have been extremely happy here. The views are breathtaking and the people are so friendly, there is a real community atmosphere. Marco and his management team are amazing, always there to help with anything you need.
Very professional and welcoming!
The river views are spectacular, and living rooms are of a good size. The proximity to the Loop is nice, but not much shopping around in short walking distance. The major negative for us is the overall poor build quality. The walls are not noise insulated at all - you can hear your neighbors talk, and you can constantly hear stuff flushing down the drain pipes in the walls. The appliances are the cheapest of the line, really noisy dishwasher, washer, and air conditioner. The pool deck and lounge areas are a bit small, but look nice. Unfortunately the air conditioning in the lounges is always set to freezing temperatures, and the staff said they cannot change it.
Thank you, Carlton for helping me find the perfect home!! I recently moved to Wolf Point West and the process has been nothing short of professional every step of the way. The move in process was the easiest I have experienced and every staff member is friendly and helpful! I cannot wait to be a resident for years to come!
As one of the first residents - I truly enjoyed my experience staying here. The views and amenities are top notch.More importantly the management, maintenance, and concierge teams make you feel right at home.
I absolutely love living here! Beautiful views. Close to the loop for work. Great ammenities and they’re never over crowded. Everyone is very friendly! It’s the perfect home!
Moved in July 2016.So far so good. Amenities top notch.Views are probably the best in the city.Pricey but you get what you pay for!
We have lived here almost a full year, and we couldnt be more happier. We feel sad moving out here soon, because we will need to be relocated for our jobs. Great building, great location, great staff, and great amenities. We will choose WPW again if we come back to Chicago one day.
I stayed here for a year, and decided to move out. The moving out process is not smooth at all. I havent received my reimbursement check yet. They are saying USPS is being slow, but taking 3 months doesnt make sense to me.
They maintain an extremely nice building with top amenities and a nice boutique feel to it. Very top quality
I had the pleasure of touring Wolf Point West with Carlton. First, let me say that I had already seen 4 other apartments that day and felt like every single person was just giving me a rushed speech. Carlton was genuine and actually made me feel like I was important enough to speak to like a person – not a potential bank account. He took his time with the tour, made sure to ask questions about me – what I was looking for, where I was moving from, spoke about the wonderful community Wolf Point has, and that was truly a selling point for me. For someone who is moving from out of state, again, I wanted a place I felt like cared about the people who lived there and wanted to ensure that people like me got out of their apartments to meet their neighbors and enjoy the building. After touring two options, I picked one of them and am excited to be moving in August. If you’re looking for a place to live in the North Loop of Chicago, I highly suggest checking out Wolf Point and requesting Carlton for your tour!
Cheaply built. The walls are thin and management does nothing about noise complaints.
Gorgeous views and great location.
Superb quality building with excellent amenities and a great community feel!
We showed up to our appointment and Carlton, the guy who was to show us the place goes: we had you for yesterday, I left you a voice mail, we got no time for you! We are busy!I even called the day of the appointment to confirm and the lady who answered the phone did not say anything! Totally disappointed! What a waste of our time! So unprofessional to get client appointment times wrong. Will never consider this place.
Not a well run building and very thinly staffed. No one picks up the phone, they lose packages, the elevators are perpetually broken, the list goes on and on.Response to owner: I tried already, and nothing was fixed.
Im updating my review from 5 stars to 1 star. I was one of the unlucky tenants who experienced spontaneous glass breakage in which Wolf Point West Management/Magellan Development made no concession. I awoke to the sound of an explosion and window just feet from my bed shattered into small shards. It took them nearly seven months to replace my floor-to-ceiling balcony window, and they entered my unit without my explicit, personal consent. Abysmal experience all-around. Your home is supposed to be your sanctuary.
I moved into WPW a little over a year ago, and it has been such an excellent experience so far. The apartments and the amenities are gorgeous. But the differentiating factor is really the staff. The doormen are so kind and responsive- I love seeing Ruben first thing in the morning! Dwayne and Phil, the evening doormen, are so kind and caring, always asking me how I am when I come home from work and sharing their enthusiasm about WPW. The staff of the building really make the residents feel special, welcome, and at home! Jillian, Isabel, Allison, Carlton, Kathryn and Kaylia are the reason I have renewed my lease- Cant imagine living anywhere else!! Thank you WPW for making this my home!
I completed an application w/ this company. Waited over a week for a response to my application. I was denied so called because of rental history! Then I got a call back saying that hey gave me the wrong information & I could still continue w/ the application. In the end, these people tell lies & dont conduct business appropriately! They have lied to me about refunding my administrative fee & everything.
Fantastic amenities. Great view
Best location in the city!
Very nice place
