When it comes to maintenance issues I had a really poor experience recently. I had submitted a non-urgent request and followed up on it at least 3 times before i ever heard back from anyone or was acknowledged. When it finally was acknowledged I was told that they were waiting on parts but they never communicated that to me. Then when we scheduled a time for maintenance to come and resolve my issue they didnt show up, twice in a row. In my opinion this building just doesnt have it together in terms of organization.
I recently moved to Chicago for work and so far have had an excellent experience with Noca Blu! Meghan and the management team were extremely responsive to answering me and my roommates questions and provided us with all the information we needed to have a smooth move-in. Our washer was acting up a little when we got there but the maintenance guy, Victor, took care of it immediately and called several people to get it worked out. Having this be my first move out-of-state, I immediately felt welcomed and Im excited to continue the year (or more) here!
Just moved in two days ago and while its not always easy, the team here at Noca Blu has been very accommodating, working to help us with anything and everything we need. Meghan and Victor are two of the best people Ive ever met and really made not only the move, but the leasing process easy. Very excited for the next year!
I love Noca Blu, Meghan is awesome. She takes care of things right awake . Staff are friendly and helpful professional. Great place to live!😀
Managed and maintained like a frat house. Horrible. My apartment was also broken into while I was inside of it in the process of moving out…seemed like an inside job And sent me to debt collections for not paying my utilities after I had already been moved out for two months with no way to pay them. Worst place I’ve ever lived. Avoid it like the plague.
Just signed a lease at Noca Blu. Meghan was great to work with and very helpful. Made the whole process simple. I look forward to living here come May 1st with the excellent team that seems to be now working in management. Keep up the good work
I moved out last year and had some trouble resolving a few outstanding issues with the prior management. Today I called, and Meghan (who is relatively new) solved the problem immediately. She was helpful, friendly, and excellent to work with. Thank you, Meghan!
Noce Blu, please answer my phone call or email. I have proven you confirmed via email I had no charges left, and my credit score was impacted by your wrongful debt collection from IQ data. Someone on the phone told me it would be corrected this past fall! Ridiculous!
I’ve lived at Noca blue for a year and a half and my experience has honestly been terrible. Management was completely nonexistent for about a year. During covid. Typically Nobody answers the phone or answers emails and it’s just so hard to get anything accomplished. However! We have a new person in our management office and her name is Erica and she is wonderful. She has been the kindest and most helpful person I’ve talked to in the entire time I’ve lived here. Very happy to have her!
I moved into Noca Blu in January and in all transparency had a horrendous initial experience. The management was dismissive, rude, lied about things, and never followed through on anything. However, once the old management left and Meghan came, my experience has dramatically improved. Meghan gets things done while always ensuring that us residents feel heard and highly prioritized. When a problem arose with my garage censor, Meghan was able and willing to help resolve the problem. Prior to Meghan, I was constantly told we will look into it and get back to you only to never be followed up with. Now I know if I have a problem, I can go to management and expect they will help me in solving it and not dismiss it. I am much happier living at Noca Blu and recommend it to those looking for a cool place to live in an even more ideal location. Thank you Meghan !!
Lovely Experience, Great views with amazing sunlight! The area also super friendly, Logan Square has everything you need!!!I love living here :)
5/5 for location, and 5/5 for victor the maintenance man. Its a fairly new building, so its nice and modern, but some of the materials and appliances used were cheap. The low ratings are for communication from the management office, the incredibly high cost of renting there, and our moving out experience. We paid our final bill, including utilities, near the end of August. I am suddenly getting calls from a collection agency about an unpaid utilities bill, now that its October. As per the move-out paperwork, we supplied our new address. They had our emails, phone numbers, and new mailing address. We were never contacted about an outstanding bill. When I spoke to the guy from collections, he said they notified us in writing by sending a letter to the apartment we had JUST MOVED OUT OF. Apparently they know its the wrong address, but they expect the postal service to then forward the letter for them, which works most of the time. I tried to log in to the online portal where I used to pay the rent, and my account is deactivated, so there is literally no way I could have known about this bill. Every time I paid rent, utilities were included, so no idea why the separate charge suddenly. Feels pretty bad to get a call from collections after paying expensive rent on time for a year. Also, we rented the apartment while living out of state, so sight unseen. The one bedroom was a studio. There was no door separating the bed from the living room. We paid more than $2400 a month for a studio apartment and a parking spot. Thats insane.*Update - since it seems many former residents are getting calls from debt collectors after moving out, please PLEASE know your rights: FTC has info about consumer rights depending on which state you live in.I told the guy he had to send me a detailed bill in writing before I would pay anything, and I never heard from him again. It has not impacted my credit.*Update 2: Its Jan 12, just got another call from a debt collector. They seem to have trouble getting me this debt in writing. If this does impact my credit, I will see what action I need to take against Noca Blu. But again, waiting until I have something in writing before I give my credit card number to a random person on the phone.
Noca Blu’s downfall is its management. My chief complaint, as others have stated, is being contacted by a debt collection company 2 months after moving out. I want to make it clear to those thinking of moving in, there is NO WAY to avoid this. I asked management to prepay my final bill before moving out, and they declined. Now two months later, After having never missed a payment, I have to pay interest to the debt collection agency “IQ Data”.I think Noca Blu should be aware, IQ data is claiming that the Noca Blu management is not sending forwarding addresses to send bills to, and that is why IQ data is threatening credit action. To those reading: I would recommend not moving into Noca Blu under any circumstance until this issue is sorted out.
I really loving my apartment, it’s well designed with a modern kitchen. It also seems to be well sound-proofed - I don’t have any issues hearing people in nearby units/the unit above me, which I’ve found can sometimes be an issue in big apartment buildings. Management was very kind to me and helped me carry my things when I moved in in early July! I’m very glad to be here and enjoying the great location near a small grocery store, the L, and some great restaurants.
I lived here for one year and by far the worst place I have lived in Chicago. Management is the worst I have ever seen. I just found out they sent me to collections over $100 that they never told Me about when I left. Unbelievable. DO NOT MOVE HERE! Also you will hear your neighbors walking above you all day and night. Low quality garbage, cheap construction.
This is like living downtown! Steps away from the Blue line pretty much means you have access to the entire city! The Building has a rooftop with truly incredible views of the real heart of Chicago. There is a hangout room area that really gives the edge in the neighborhood. Im writing this review because this place is under rated for the prime location it is in! Management are super friendly and welcoming, Alina and George really are making me consider a place here. Ive only visited many times but cant wait to hopefully move in with my friends this winter!
We moved in mid May 2019 and moved out at the end of may 2020. When we first moved, our dishwasher was leaking and the top panel with buttons was coming off, which never got fixed. When we signed the lease they told us our unit had an upgraded stove. A month into living there they took our upgraded stove and moved it to a different unit in the building and gave us one of worse quality. Our two air conditioning units leaked and it took them a few months to fix it. Way too many problems for such a new luxury apartment. The entire time we were under the assumption that our lease ended May 31st. We notified them that we were moving out and never heard back with any instructions of where to leave the keys, any additional info or anything. I called to ask where to leave the keys and they said put them in an envelope and put it in the door so I did that thinking we were done with this place. Its now August, and I get a call from collections saying I owe a balance for the month of June. Apparently our lease ended June 15th, and instead of being told by Noca Blu that we owe rent, knowing we moved out, they sent us to collections months later. We never got any email or phone call or anything saying that there was a balance owed. This place is extremely unprofessional and unorganized. Dont waste your time or money.
Live here for a year. As others have said, my partner got a call from a collections agency for unpaid utilities that we were never informed about prior. No call, no email, no letter. We provided our new address and they didnt bother sending anything. We were always on time with our payments and everything seemed to be in order when we left. Management wasnt around so we couldnt formally confirm anything but you would think the last months rent would have everything in it. So who knows where this mystery bill came from.It was a daily occurrence of dealing with animal pee in the elevators. Its a younger crowd that lives here so theres puke and drunk people passed out in the lobby on any given weekend. Didnt give any break on rent during the pandemic, they even threatened the possibility of raising rent if we were to renew. Management is slow to respond. Maintenance people dont wear masks while cleaning. The parking garage is a free for all with employees of the building stealing/using handicapped spots for themselves.
I never got to see the place. I showed up on time for my appointment and was told on the intercom that they would be right down to greet me. I waited 15 minutes and nobody showed. I received several calls on my way to the next place and one voice mail stating that she needed to finish a conversation with her assistant manager before coming down. If she wasn’t available at my scheduled time, why did she set the appointment? A waste of time.
I’ve been living here for one year now, and I’ve enjoyed it! For a single person, it’s perfect. It’s a one minute walk from the train. The area is near tons of bars and restaurants as well. This building has a gym,(not the biggest gym, but does the trick) a beautiful rooftop to bbq on, and a supermarket connected to the building. You don’t even have to leave the building to grab what you need. The staff has always been a pleasure with me. When I first moved in, my oven didn’t work, I contacted the property manager Dan, who had Victor in maintenance take care of it. Aliana, the assistant property manager gets back to me quickly when I have questions, and Jorge, the leasing consultant is such a gem. He went out of his way to grab my packages, because I was going to be gone for a while. Just hope you don’t have someone above you that walks with a heavy foot. Other than that, I love it here and am excited to be here for another year.
Definitely do not recommend this place. Maintenance requests take weeks and the fixtures are very cheap.Management is non existent and won’t respond to your emails. The temperature is a nightmare. I’ve had problems since day 1. It is always so hot in my apartment and the windows open 3 inches with no breeze. My unit sits above the heater in the garage and is constantly baking. I can’t turn the air on because because everything is regulated from the office. The walls in this place are paper thin, I hear children out of my unit constantly banging/screaming. I’ve had packages stolen even in the secure room. The amenities are a joke. The gym is extremely small and the community room is beyond tacky and very awkward. The building office is in the community room and staff use the entire room as their office. It doesn’t feel welcoming in the slightest. On top of everything, they expect full rent during the covid-19 shutdown even when they have every single amenity closed. This place is in no way worth the money. Steer clear as there are far better choices to be made.
This place is a disaster. Maintenance does not exist. There has been no hot water since Saturday with no mention as to when it will be turned back on. Tenants keep moving out. Its no wonder why.
I lived here for 14 months and it was terrible. The hallways were a mess (puke, trash, etc.), the apartment interior was cheaply finished (thin doors, cheap flooring), and the staff was very unhelpful when we did have issues. Its also crazy overpriced for the area. Live somewhere else.
Basically an overpriced dorm with paper thin walls and windows (can hear everything from your neighbors and the street so good luck sleeping), throw up in the hallways and elevator, and people passed out in the lobby. Management is aware of all this, however does nothing about it except make sure that you pay rent on time. Only building I’ve ever heard of that splits gas, water, and trash across the whole building and not for each apartment, so even if you barely use gas or water, you will be charged absurd amounts for no usage. Definitely don’t stay here; you will regret it like we do!
Absolutely horrible management and staff. Very unprofessional and irresponsible service, specially from the agent guy name George. I called for 3 days in a row asking for information and they kept telling me they would call me back and never did. Im a full time Med Student and I was calling in regards to a false advertisement they basically have everywhere! where they state to have lower price ranges for low income. In reality, they dont want or provide these options at all or the bare minimum which is to treat and provide service to you like any other potential renter. After reading other reviews seems like the place is not even worth it. Its a real shame.
This place is rough. Where to start. Many tenants are party people and there was puke in the hallway on a weekly basis. Loud music all night. Once had the cops show up and bust the door down of a neighboring tenant. The gym door had the key snapped off inside the lock so you won’t be able to access that. Two months after moving out they sent a collection agency to collect utilities they said were not paid during THE FIRST TWO months of living there. Though they had a year to ask or collect they never emailed or attempted to reach my partner by email or phone. This was my partners lease and I’m frustrated enough to write a review.
The worst experience I have ever had with any company in any industry.- Management is rude- Realtors are uninformed about utilities- Non-responsive to call backs or emails- Impossible to get straight answers from.I would never recommend NocaBlu to anybody
I lived at Noca Blue for 14 months. I will try and give an accurate and fair description of my experiences in that time.-Location 5/5: Excellent location. Best part about this place. Restaurants, venues, Blue Line, 606, and so much more. Wonderful spot in Logan Square and in Chicago for that matter.-Amenities 3/5: The package room, bike room, gym and roof all looked so very appealing when we moved in but soon lost the charm. This place says luxury apartments and amenities but anyone who has built anything ever can see it was thrown together without thought of use. It was built so quickly to look nice but after a few uses, it falls apart. That was the theme of our time here. It is a cheaply constructed building that seems like luxury, but with normal use, almost everything falls apart or breaks.-Apartments 2/5: This is where we were very disappointed. We moved in to a brand new unit and by the time we left, I cant even begin to tell how many maintenance problems we had. AC and heater are a mini-split unit (you can research that if you arent familiar like I was until I moved here). Very efficient but not very practical. Building has to be ALL hot or ALL cold so if you like it colder but the building thinks it need heat, you get hot air regardless. Case in point waking up every night in the spring and fall to an 85 degree room because the AC switched to heat on its own. That was annoying and there is no fix. Again, cheaper solution then central air and heat. Insulation is decent. Not bad between walls but main door is terrible. You can hear every conversation of people in the hallway. If you live on the second floor beware of the noise from weight dropping in the gym. Rattled our dishes daily when people dropped their weights. Garbage shoots and elevator chimes are also big considerations on every floor.-Maintenance 5/5: Victor is the man. He honestly made this place feel like a home. Always a friendly face in the hallways, eager to help and did good work. As I have said again and again, things broke all the time because of the poor cheap construction so he will have good job security. I hope he stays and they give him a raise. He was wonderful and had great communication from day one. Only person in the entire building that actually gave me an answer or found out the answer in a normal time frame.-Staff ?/?: I cant give a fair rating because in the 14 months we were there, they went through at least three entire staff changes. This is probably around 10-12 people in and out the door. Sometimes it was good, most of the time it was dismal. I dont know how they find management or what everyones individual situation was but from a tenant standpoint, it affected us significantly. One word to describe management, inconsistent. Be on guard and check every thing.-Price 1/5: I know it is Chicago. I know it is Logan Square. I know I signed the lease for this place to live here. Still outrageous. Makes me sick to think I spent as much as I did, even with a promo. Negotiate on rent, they will come down or they wont fill this place. Every other tenant I talked with was ready to get out as soon as the lease was up.-Overall: I dont want to sound un-appreciative or mean. It was a good experience and I learned a lot in my time here. I never felt unsafe or scared and the lights worked every time I flipped the switch. It is a decent place but there are a lot to be wary off and I was more than ready to get out. I hope this review helped and wherever you do end up living, I hope it is amazing. Apartment hunting is the worst. I wish you the best!
The apartments are overpriced and you can find better value elsewhere. Although the exterior appeal is good, living here will remind you of a loud dorm, vomit on carpets, occasional broken glass in the hallways, and paper-thin walls. Cops are here at least once a week for various issues. Management is lobotomized, and several of the apartments are reserved and rented via govt subsidies for low income residents - you will pay for the difference. Proximity to bars and the blue line is a plus, but if you work for a living and like to sleep occasionally, find something else.
Nice building, great location . Gym is tiny, rooftop is okay, but the apts make up for the subpar amenities. The encouraged you to apply for the apt withing 48hrs of touring to put a hold on it & They tell to you that they will apply the $250 admin fee to your rent if you sign the lease within 48hrs of touring, however they DO NOT tell you that if you choose NOT to sign the lease they will NOT refund you anything and keep your $300 ($50 app fee + $250 admin fee). In essence they scam you out of $250 if you choose NOT to sign the lease. The $50 application processing fee is understandable, but a $250 admin fee....what admin work did they do? When I asked for them to send me the application so I can see WHERE it says the $250 is non-refundable, I got no reply. For them not to refund it if I choose not to sign the lease just reinforces the idea that they get to you to apply and its a win-win for them. If you sign the lease they got a tenant & if you dont they made $$ off you for literally DOING NOTHING.
This building got off to a rough start, but our new property manager Daniel is detail oriented and responsive which has made living here a much better experience! Thank you, Daniel!!
April 2nd 2019 - High ceilings, no carpets in units, washer dryer in unit, centralized cooling and heating. A stones throw from the blue line. Everything else is a welcome nice to have.
Absolutely horrible management and staff. Very unprofessional and I am still waiting on my $300 refund. The entire process took way too long and I ended up having to call corporate just so I could speak directly to a human instead of a voice recording. RUN AWAY! DO NOT SIGN!
Living at Noca Blu is truly a treat. The gorgeous, brand new building is filled with wonderful finishes and thoughtful amenities. From its roof top deck with spectacular views of the city, to the beautiful lounge space, to the Amazon package hub, Im so glad to call Noca Blu home. Not only is the building a treat, so is the staff. They are ever helpful and are always welcoming with a smile on their faces. I love living here and recommend it to anyone who asks.
