I love living at The Covington! Affordable rent, all of the amenities, great front desk staff and a prime location! I recommend this luxury apartment building to anyone who is looking for a new start!
Amazing, friendly staff and spacious units for a great price! I love it here!!
From the time I came across The Covington on my apartment search until now, as a current resident I have been thoroughly pleased. The application process was easy, Kaylin was pleasant and thorough during our calls, and the property is clean and well maintained. I’ve yet to run into any major problems and any questions I’ve had Kaylin was more than willing to provide an answer. She is professional, poised, and very easy to speak with on any building related topics. All the staff are really personable and make being a resident here comfortable.
Very good apartment complex. I lived here for 18 months and had no major issues. One tiny thing is that the window blinds are not great quality and can be annoying to handle. But overall a great and reliable experience!
I have lived here over a year. And when the former manager Victoria was there, things were much more better. She was so professional each time. Kaylin is the opposite. She is so unprofessional and ended the call on me and says “ am not gonna do this with you” when I called regarding a package that was delivered to another room and I couldn’t find. That aside she never had a professional tone, not once, all she does is yell on top of her voice. I wonder where she thinks she is. Kaylin has to go
I lived in this building for over 7 yrs and of course like every place else there are up and downs but this is definitely the place I call home. I have had and still have a lot of support and care from the manager we have now Kaylin. Besides doing what a manager suppose to do she has that special care and touch and I am grateful for that. All the people working here are very professional and helpful. Desk people are amazing 👏. I never ever missed a delivered package.
I have been living at the Covington for a year now. The property manager and staff are very professional and friendly. Building is well kept and maintained. Property manager is very patient with me and helpful.
I’ve lived in this building for e past 2 years and it’s been good. Security is friendly and attentive. We went through some management changes. Only knock if any is that 1 elevator seems to go down whenever people move in.
My boyfriend and I moved here in May 2018. On our move in day, we got to the apartment and nothing had been cleaned. There was gum on our hard wood floors, oil residue in the kitchen, our walls werent repainted and the bathroom wasnt clean or re-caulk.Since then, weve had horrible experience with management. Since May, there is a new property manager who supposedly working on the 1800 working orders that never got completed. We have submitted multiple working orders and nothing has been completed. Our winter insulation hasnt been done and we had to go buy ourselves a space heater because its so cold in our apartment. The apartment itself is very nice and spacious but the building only cares if you have lived here for years. Unless you plan on staying here for years, I would not consider living here. It is not worth the money you spend and maintenance cant come and fix any of your working orders.
I rented the new studios at the apartment, never had an issue! They were so new and high ceilings and all. The bathroom and kitchen was all new and updated. Its close to the lake and the frontdesk workers and Alexa are phenomenal. They let me increase the time I spent for 2 months for the rent and were extremely helpful.
This place is fantastic. Ive been here for six months and the staff is the best. They all know me and really care about the people living here. When we need help, theyre very quick to resolve any problems. The location is perfect. Youre close to the beach during the summer but also close to public transport to get you anywhere in the city. The other people in the building are friendly. Theyre expanding the fitness center and it looks fantastic. If youre facing east or north, you have a great view! Plus being next to the hospital means that theres a walgreens right down the street in emergencies.I wont be moving any time soon.
It is clear that this facility has been recently renovated. Everything was both modern and spotless. The new property manager is welcoming and knowledgeable, and the unit is perfect. Right next to the Lake, close to Marianos, a few steps from Lake Shore Drive. I was a little nervous about checking this place out a while back as the comments and reviews seemed mix; however, it is clear that the negative experiences in the reviews list must have been really specific to those users. In general and in my experience, the place is amazing.
Pros:- Friendly staff, respond to maintenance issues fast- Nice apartments with a ton of storage, great natural light, large bedrooms- Forced heating surprisingly keeps apartment at a good temperature during the cold months, especially for how little heat you feel coming out- Hallways and lobby recently renovated- Very close to the lakeCons:- Location. Do not believe what anyone tells you, Uptown is not a great place to live. Yes you get more for you money, but there is a large homeless population around this area. Walking down Wilson to the train I pay closer attention to what is going on around me compared to other parts of the city. After a month of living here, I could not wait to leave for a better location.- If ever there is construction, it takes longer than expected (like multiple months)- Not many restaurants, bars, or shops to walk to- Property manager, while pretty nice and easy to deal with, can take long to get back to youThe apartment itself would get a 4/5 stars while the area would maybe get 2/5.
I am a current resident. Over the last year I have been living here maintenance has been nearly non existent. There is peeling paint onthe ceiling, the hot water has gone out several times and the heat hardly works. All last winter there was very little heat despite the fact that they charge an extra $65 per month for utilities.Maintenance staff came up to my apartment several times at my insistance discussed and theorized about the problem but never fixed the heat. It is now summer and my lease is almost over and they now are increasing the rent another $78 per month to sign a new lease. I emailed the managment about a guarentee that the heat would be fixed, and that I should be getting some sort if credit rather than a rent increase for going with such little heat all last winter. Their response was claiming that there was only one maintenance request for heat in their records and that the rent increase will stand.Beware of this place. Last winter my girlfriend didnt want to even stay over since it was so cold her it was so bad. It is also clear that their plan is to lure people in with a lower rent price and then jack it up later with no regard for responsible maintenance.
Very well maintained appartment building, spacious living areas, convenient location.
We had an appointment scheduled to see an apartment 3 days in advance on a monday afternoon. We called the day after asking to move it to 1145, and had to leave a voicemail. Thats fine, it was over the weekend. Called at several times early Monday morning, and again had to leave voice mail. I called horizon reality who also called Franciscos personal cell, and said they would call us back. We never heard from either of them. Since it was an hour drive to and from just didnt go. Very unprofessional.
All is well
Pros: recently renovated halls, lobby and laundry facility. The doormen in the morning are friendly and helpful. Hardwood floors and granite countertops in the kitchen. Older dishwasher, but it works well.Cons: apartment itself is outdated. The walls were nearly impossible to paint due to the texture and conditions of existing dry wall. The kitchen sink sometimes doesnt have cold or hot water and has no pressure at all, just a teeny tiny stream of water. It takes 30+ minutes just to wash a few pots and pans. The bathroom is old and has mold on parts of the tub, it has old pink tile that looks like its from the 80s. The fridge, microwave and stove are also super old. The stove has the smallest flames coming from the burners, so cooking also takes long. The walls are so thin so you can hear your neighbors. The bathtub gets backed up at least once a month. Location is not great, especially Wilson Avenue. There are many homeless, and the glass front door has been broken by them before. You will probably have to park 1.5 blocks away at the hospital parking garage that costs $100 a month since the buildings lot is full. The worst of all though is that in the 2 years Ive been here Ive killed cockroaches on many separate occasions. I keep very tidy and throw out my garbage everyday, never leave dirty dishes or food out. But who knows what my neighbors living conditions are. This ultimately became the deal breaker for me.
Luxury apartments without compromise.. excellent friendly doorman.
Its true what what they say. You can put lipstick on a pig, its still a pig. I still dont understand how they could use the word luxury. I have no hot water in the kitchen for over 1 1/2 year . The shootings are becoming two rampant plus all the tent city peolpe are a block away.
Comfortable, but expensive (Chicago Style).
Parking is hard to come by unless you pay every night but its chicago so its expected
5 🌟
My friend lives there
