Been living here for about 3 months and this place is an absolute gem. My studio is so spacious at an amazing price and The staff here is so amazing and sweet, Angela and Paul are the absolute best!!! They are so timely, efficient and kind :))
I just moved in about 3 weeks ago, but so far my experience has been great. Angela in the front office is very helpful and friendly and made my cross country apartment hunt so much easier than I had anticipated. The lead maintenance engineer, Pauly, is also very attentive and prompt and down for a laugh.
Property Manager Angela has been amazing helping me find a place that is best suited for my needs. So far, I really like it here!
Ive been at Wyndham apartments for about 3 years. Wyndham management has been great. Maintenance is always on time and very respectful. They fix everything perfectly. I like the fact that Marianos is right across the street. I love shopping there. Im also close to the Lakefront front trail. I love biking there. My apartment is spacious and has great lighting.
When I first moved to Chicago I stumbled across an ad for an open apartment here and I’m so happy I did! Definitely a five star experience living at the Wyndham Apartments. From the awesome front office staff to the great gym (with a beautiful view), I couldn’t have found a better place to live!
I signed up to take the tourwith the time share. I couldnt make the tour so I went to them and canceled. The manager assured me shed cancel and refund my $75. Got my CC statement Ave the $75 charge is on there. Ive been calling for 4 days to get this resolved. The last girl I spoke to found my reservation and said that it was canceled, but when I tell her its on my statement, she puts me on hold and never comes back. Then, she wont smart at all.
Management has been very helpful so far since I’ve moved in! This was my first apartment experience and they answered all of my questions and walked me through the process nicely. They continue to be helpful as I live there. The building itself is older but has a charm. I live in a studio and it’s very comfortable and cozy and has a decent lake view! I am very particular about the cleanliness of bathrooms in apartments and the bathroom in my place is just up to my standards haha. The entire apartment is spacious and my experience has been great so far!
I give this apartment building and the management team 5 Stars easily! From the day I moved in, Paul ( head of maintenance) did not stop until he found out the reason my water temperature was faulty. It did not take long and I was extremely happy. Paul and Rodrigo are awesome. The lobby is clean, recently re-decorated and the front door is very secure. Mostly due to the community that takes care of one another, but also because we have Amanda on the door and she is very good at her job. She is also very friendly. The new housekeeper on staff always cleans the laundry room and hallways. Our Common areas are always clean. Our Property Manager Angela is wonderful, professional, quick and efficient. She has always responded swiftly to any of my concerns. I love living in a vintage building because the walls are thick and I dont like living in a box. I have beautiful framed glass doors in my studio that separates my closet and kitchen. There is a built in vanity. I have floor to ceiling windows and unobstructed views of the Lake Michigan. I have yet to find this kind of charm in new buildings. I have never had problems with bugs or rodents.Angela, Latecia, Amanda, Paul, and Rodrigo really rock this building.Love it here! FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY!
Love the management and how fast they help with our problems. Angela and team 👌👌👌
After a decade of living in the same apartment something has to give. I mean, 10 years in the same 800 sq. ft. apartment. Time is sneaky, but Imno gluten for punishment. Quite the contrary, Im the type that lets you know whats wrong with your Marinara sauce and to best fix it, Im Mr. Picky. So shoot me.Why the Wyndham Apartments?Top notch management and staff is why. An on the spot property manager that listens, learns, empathizes, and works tirelessly to make sure your rental unit becomes your home. When we told Angela that we wanted a new place she found us a different apartment here at the Wyndham. She understood that my physical limitations required reasonable accommodations so capitalizing on the sleepy winter season, they hurried a plan to keep me in my old unit while my new place was readied. Paul(Sr.Bldg Eng.) made sure that the changes were reasonable and accommodating without violating any building standards. They all seem to care, and work with an impressive symmetry. We love our new apartment and look forward to another decade at the Wyndham Apartments!
Very comfortable live here. Awesome friendly maintenance and office team. I would recommend anybody to live here.
I recently moved to the Wyndham. The property manager, Angela, made my transition to the city and building an easy one. She addressed all my questions and concerns prior to my move. I met a few of the residents in the building, and they have all been kind thus far. The bus and train are walking distance, the lake is a couple blocks away and a grocery store is conveniently located across the street. If you enjoy Hospitality, Convenience and a “boutique hotel” lobby, then I recommend this building.
Wow. Ive lived here for five years. Im in my second apartment and I enjoy many aspects of living here - hardwood floors, good natural light, cat- and dog-friendly, terrific transpoprtation proximity, a grocery store across the street, etc. Overall, I need to call out Paul for his friendliness and attention since my first day living here. He is GREAT! However, my immediate interest in to call out Angela Patterson, the building manager. She is friendly and helpful and more important, she comes at situations with a very strong solution-oriented focus. At times I have dreading asking for help because I felt I had to fight for basic help but when I approach Angela, she takes time to understand the request AND the issue behind the request. and then helps address the problem or gets the right people working on it. My big fear is that since shes so good, she could get promoted to a post in another building! Thanks Angela!
Great experiences so far living at Wyndham Apartments on Sheridan. Angela and Brandon are right on top of any issues that might arise, and really efficient in helping out, answering questions or retrieving packages. Ive met a number of other residents so far, and theres a lot of great people that live in this building. Paul, the lead of maintenance, is on top of his game and very familiar with the building since hes been working at this location for many years. Its a clean, well-maintained place to live, and its convenient to have a grocery store across the street and the lake only a couple blocks to the east.
I live in here for more than 4 years now. It has good accessible to cta buses, red line, groceries, lakefront trail, beaches and school. Maintenance person Paul is very kind and helpful. Only concern I have is, noises of drilling and hammering as they work on the building most of the time. Its hard time with baby.
I love living at the Wyndham. My floor is quiet. Angela and Brandon are very nice. The maintenance men take care of work orders in a timely manner. I also just renewed my lease. I definitely plan on staying here for years to come.
Updated review,I would like to give shoutout for both Paul and Angela. They both are brilliant and would go extra mile for your comfort and satisfaction. Thank you so much for understanding my concern and providing best possible solution.
Loved my time at this apartment building! Property manager, Angela, was 100% the best property manager I’ve ever had. Always had prompt responses to service requests and were open to all ideas for improvement! Also, maintenance man, Paul, is a total sweetheart. They really care about their residents and it shows.
Just finished choosing my new apartment, and love the staff at The Wyndham. So patient with my list of many questions, and the neighbors I have already met are so personable and welcoming. Kudos for being dog and cat friendly. This is my kind of place to call home.
The management team has been great. Maintenance team has responded to requests quickly & efficiently. The only issue we have is that the building has 2 elevators & one always seems to be down...but otherwise so far everything else has been going well!
I am so happy that I found this apartment! I have a straight bus and train to the city and the surrounding area is really great. I really needed a short term lease as well. The management staff helped me so much before and during my stay at the apartment. The only problems that I had at the apartment is that it is not very noise proof, especially if you live next to the elevator, and the heater doesnt circulate throughout the unit very well. However, if these things wouldnt be much of a bother, I would highly recommend this apartment!
This is a great building to be in management is respective and polite. The apartments are cleaned and nice size.
-5 starsWas suppose to move in but the leasing office is a EXTREMELY unprofessional!!! A complete nightmare! The leasing agent I originally worked with Hagar was helpful at first then literally fell off leading up to my move in!!!!!! Day of my move nothing...A complete nightmare a day later Marcia another leasing agent barely apologized. Told me that I could move in once I get a hold of the movers to reschedule. As though this situation couldn’t get worse the second time I was going to move in. No one was around again!!!! A leasing agent who finally arrived was completely unhelpful and rude. Here’s the kicker the apartment wasn’t even ready!!! Broken glass items missing from the unit... Marcia showed up late and was so rude!! I had movers there with nowhere to move into!! Can’t stress enough how much horrible of an experience this once! They tried to then tell me I needed to pay rent starting the original date I was suppose to move in!!!!! Even though I was unable to move into the unit nor was it even ready. Theres was so much more to this horrific experiences.... Just a little bit of what I experienced with this terrible management office. Can’t imagine what it would have been like to live there. With those clowns. Luckily I documented everything cause TLC management at the Wyndham is a nightmare!
The leasing staff were super nice and helpful. They took their time to make sure everything was in order. The lobby is incredible. I cant wait to move in.
The new lady named Dale is a joy to interact with.I know people in the building and they told me its great, so I moved in. Love it so far. I love my view of the lake.
Angela and Brandon, The Entire Management Staff. Are Amazing, Go Beyond,Great Attitude, 5 Star Plus. Yes! Wyndham Apts. A Place to Make Your Home. Oct. 2019. Ms. J. Parks
Been living here for 15 months and have had no complaints about the building or the management.-Every single one of my maintenance requests was taken care of in less than 48 hours-Marianos across the street was a blessing-147 Express bus was great for getting to downtown quicklyI havent actually had a negative interaction with the staff or the building itself. Im not sure what other issues other people have faced.
After all they did a good job...Angela and Paul make sure that everything works good in my unit...thank you
Amazing property staff, always friendly and personable. Maintenance has taken care of any issue I have had no matter the size of the issue right away and with care of my home. I absolutely love this building it is very well maintained.
I love the building and location.
The Wyndham Apartments keeps their promise, and held true to their word. I finally made to the Wyndham, Hooray!!! Kudos to Angela and staff.
I love this place. Ive gotten laid here so many times 😉
I currently live at the Wyndham, and have really enjoyed living here for many reasons. The Location: 5 minutes from the lake and Foster Beach! Marianos is right across the street, making grocery shopping so easy. And 3 express buses literally outside the front door, so its easy to be downtown in 10 - 15 minutes. The red line is two blocks away. The location is great! The Building: beautiful lobby! My guests often comment on it and seem impressed. Secure package delivery. And the gym has good equipment (an extra cardio machine would be nice, but overall good selection of equipment). But the real bonus to the gym: the view!! Looking at the lake while slogging away on the treadmill makes it much better. Its got a new laundry room, and Ive found by doing laundry on weekday evenings, there isnt a wait to use the machines. The Apartments: love, love, love my view and huge kitchen. I can see the city view to the south and best of all, the lake. Floor to ceiling bay windows (in my unit anyway). . Also, I never hear the neighbors above or next to me...the walls must be quite thick. Its more of a vintage building, so the units are somewhat vintage, but its well maintained and fairly well updated, nice layout, good carpet, heat works great. The Staff: Paul and Wes are great, and they know residents by name, are quick to respond and do whatever they can to keep it a great experience living here. Ive had a few maintenance requests and they were done quickly. I needed a new fridge last month, and they switched it out while I was at work. I didnt expect them to place all the food so neatly in the new fridge, but thats exactly what they did. Olivia in the office is friendly and responsive.
Just moved in a month ago. Great apartment, great people in the office. Mantainence is very prompt. High recommendations!Love the building!
The maintenance guys are great, very timely & do a great job! Management was apathetic about homeless people in the lobby, water was rusty, dont count on there being a doorman during scheduled hours. Hallways smelled like urine & cigarettes for months and was never resolved. Management never got me the new paperwork for renewing my lease and then blamed it on me, which was the final straw in not renewing.
Olivia Sykes best property manager ever TLC management is a very good company to rent from thanks for having me as a tenant!
Very Rude Leasing management. The previous manager was good. The new lady and the guy is very rude. Very rude leasing office people i have seen ever. But maintenance guys here is very nice. OMG beware of leasing office
Wyndham Apartments has been great to me. I moved in October 2018 to a one bedroom apartment facing West. I love my view of the Edgewater/Andersonville neighborhoods. Everything is walking distance; Marianos, Red Line, N. Clark Street, Foster Beach...Also, everyone is super friendly in the building.
The management of this building is outrageously poor and runned by a pack of liars. FOR EXAMPLE! Three floors became infested with bedbugs, but rather than alert the other residents, they covered it up and threatened to throw out tenants that spread the word around. Ultimately, ALL of the floors got bedbugs (of course, theyd pretend you were the only one with the problem). This joyful occurrence happen twice, during my first and last month there. Their treatment of dog owners is especially hostile. The only thing good about the Wyndham is the facilities staff. AVOID this crap building and dont be fooled by the wonderful guided tour they give you; they only care about GETTING new tenants, not KEEPING their current ones. (maybe this is why entire floors are empty???)
Horribly rude leasing staff that refuse to answer questions or return calls. Buyer beware!!!! I live here and it’s not worth the rent. The only thing good is Paul the maintenance guy. I don’t understand how they got awards for being friendly. They are not. I was told that we would have a door staff for the hours that the office was closed. I have documentation to back this up that we will have a Door staff and guess what? we don’t . we have a doorman three nights a week from Midnight to 8am that they are paying out his contract and then we won’t have one. Also it says we have video monitoring but there are no monitors at the door persons desk. Hmmm. If you look at another review management refused to fork over surveillance when a package went missing ....because they don’t have video. I ve questioned it several times. I’ve called the office and Olivia yelled at me for asking and said that a doornan was a luxury not an guarrantee. I called the main office the “regional director Debbie “ just refuses to return my calls and now I’m just posting this because im paying more rent than what it’s worth. I have a great view of the lake but I can’t wash my windows to see it because when I wash my windows they fall out. Also when I try to wash my windows there’s not a seal so that In between the two planes of glass is dirt and filth that can’t be washed. I asked for that to be resolved it has not been. I signed a lease with the understanding that there would be door staff.. O and if you plan to move here, be aware that your view of will be blocked for months due to brick repair. No change in the expensive rent for old run down building. Also no central air and no central heating. Also the lobby smells like sewer and the halls like cat urine. When I reported that I was told “well it’s an old building.” Also another revue says gorgeous rooftop deck...NOT! They closed it.
I would actually give it 0 stars if possible at this point. My experience with management here has been the most frustrating and difficult I have had with a leasing company on multiple occasions concerning three separate issues, and I used to work for one for two years. From the very beginning of applying for the apartment, it took them 3 business days to even notice my application, which only happened because I called to check on it. After multiple calls with various people in the office, they were able to contact me with an update on my approval 4 days later.I was ready to sign the lease immediately, but it still somehow took them another 7 days to send the lease out to me. All the while I was stressed because it was at this point only 2 weeks until I needed to be in Chicago to start my new job. Also, for my first rent payment, which I paid online through their resident portal, I mistakenly used the Illinois routing number instead of Indiana (where I started the account) because I figured it mattered in which state I was. That was my fault the payment came back, but I asked for a waiver for the $140...$140...fees I received due to the payment being late after the first didnt go through and NSF.I asked for a break on the fees, since it was an honest mistake and the first payment I ever sent to them. No breaks given. Maybe thats not surprising to you, but the company I worked for was more often than not on the residents side. Crazy, I know, but thats how I come to expect good or even decent customer service. Now, at the front door is a digital directory to call residents on their phones to buzz guests into the building. I moved in 5/1; it is now 5/26, and I have yet to be added to that directory. Keep in mind it hasnt been idle procrastination for the manager, Amy, to delay this service. I have now asked her 4 times in total and 3 within the past 3 business days to add me to it. EVERY SINGLE TIME I ask her about it she ends our conversation by saying, Ill get you put in before I leave today.I now have to ask someone a 5th time for something that could be done within the duration of a phone call...I would do it myself, if I were allowed, because it is obvious she is incapable of walking 50 feet and pressing a few buttons, or caring, or both. Please do not put yourself through the trouble of dealing with such blatant negligence in case, God forbid, anything not go perfectly for you during a renting situation.
While I had some great memories living here, all was not good!! Homeless ppl living in the stairwell, idiot office staff, way outdated units!! Things did change gradually though. Updated now, and gorgeous roof deck and hella views!!
I strongly recommend against renting from this property or property managed by TLC Management. We lived here for three years in two different units. We were great tenants, clean, paid in a timely fashion. When we chose not to renew our lease we were slappend with extraneous cleaning fees $700, and received notice one full year after we moved out of state. We cleaned the whole apartment when we moved in documented it and out documented it. Aside from this the facility is marginal, over priced and the staff are disingenuous. The place isnt worth the head ache. The negative review of our tenancy to prospective lanlords coupled with shady business practice of holding a good reveiw hostage until bogus fees are paid caused us to completely loose faith in this company. There is no customer loyalty and they take advantage of peope who rent from them. We didnt have any major issue until we moved out. The 700 fee is totally a fabricated and blows my mind. They have debt collector going to my inlaws place of business and home even though they were never on any lease. When a new management called for a review they lied and said they wouldnt have renewed our lease even though we received a written offer prior to us giving our 60 day notice. We paid rent in full on time for three years and cant use them as a reference.
Awful management,
