Ken was immensely helpful in my move into the Algonquin. He is great to work with and has a positive can-do attitude. Im grateful to Ken and Kris for going above and beyond in helping me find a creative solution to moving my bed into my apartment in a seamless manner. With Kens help, my move-in was as smooth as possible.

Renovated units with fast maintenance, and a great location by the lake.
I like the apartment. Brian in maintenance is really helpful. Even came by on a holiday.
Service requests were handled promptly.
Nicely renovated unit, and quick service
Very nice apartments and clean building. Whenever, I have an issue, maintenance always comes to resolve it quickly. I love living in Algonquin Apartments.
Algonquin, building 2, October 2019. Apartments are nice and clean, no complaints. Staff is responsive, everything can be fixed pretty quickly. BUT!!! The building is too close to the railway so it is very-very loud, sometimes one can feel how floor vibrates when a heavy train goes. Might be OK for big city lovers though. Also heavy marijuana smell, it goes even inside units.
Be careful. I stayed here one winter and the breeze in through the windows was so unbearable. Otherwise, its clean and a nice living space with great views
My own car was towed from my parking spot on May 21st when I have called management about other people parking in my spot and was told there was nothing they could do on several occasions. I will not pay $175 a month to have to pay $218 to get my own car out of a tow yard and then park four blocks away and walk back to my apartment in the dark. Called after hours management to ensure my car would not be towed again and the girl on the phone said I only know how to page maintenance if theres a flood or somethingThe hours of management are unacceptable if the after hours person is going to be completely incompetent. I have called management three times to report someone in my spot and have just been told just to park in a different spot. I have called the towing company once to report a car in my spot and was told just to park in the leasing agent spot. Why is there nothing you can do when the person who leases the parking spot is not able to park in their own spot, but somehow you decide to tow my own car??
Ive been here for two years. I have a first floor apartment. I like to begin with the noise. Theres an old lady who sings as loud as she can for hours in the middle of the night. You can hear her moaning and groaning and callingHer little grandson. You can also hear every conversation from the apartment above us. Just last night they were fighting upstairs and it sound horrific. There is always drunk activity in the summer and people arguing and fighting in the area during the middle of the night. The winters are extremely cold even with your heat on 90 your apartment is barely comfortable I had a baby in February and I had to buy heaters to ensure he wasnt cold. U can smell the odors of another apartment in your apartment. I saw a body bag leave out the back door and still havent received notice if it was natural or murder. They sure can send you those late fee emails at any time. Some of the equipment in the work out room was out for some time but thats about the only consistent thing here. Its not a feeling of safe and secure here because people just walk in with each other. Some people are even in the wrong building. Im just over it and Im moving when this lease is up. I expected more because hell we pay more. Its just not worth the money!
Viewed a unit. Entryway glass, common areas, and elevator were unacceptably untidy (dirty). The units I saw werent move in ready, they were untidy, cabinets had paint chipping, and the air conditioning unit was dirty, like disgusting and dirty. I see reviews that say the buildings are clean, but thats total opposite to my experience.
Staff is responsive most of the time. I wish that we didnt have to walk to Regents Park to pick up packages. Also these buildings are not wheelchair accessible at all.
Among many other problems, it smells like cigarettes and/or weed in the building and in the apartment all the time (coming from ventilation). And management does absolutely nothing about it. Glad I am out of here in 4 months and will never rent anything with Mac Properties again!
Okay, so if people say that this place is so lumpin dumb, then what was I gonna say. Oh my glob.
