It’s a nice neighborhood! I just hate that they’re dragging out this no guest rule at the pool we already missed the whole summer last year! I don’t see why we can’t at least bring one guest to the pool one day out of the week or have a maximum capacity or something simple.Instead of taking the fun away from the activity some of us live alone and would like to invite a friend or family member this year before the summer is over again.

On my trip down to Charlotte, I toured so many apartment complexes. This place had a great location and seemed like a nice, quiet place to live. The grounds seemed clean and well maintained. Jenna was so sweet and helpful! She went above and beyond to help me find an apartment that fit my needs. Very knowledgeable and honest.
This place is an amazing area to live in, but sadly recent things have happened that caused us to want to move. One of our vehicles were stolen from the paid parking spot we use, my boxes of medication were stolen along with the constant smell of marijuana in my building. We have lived here for a year unbothered until two new tenants moved in near us, since then things have been stolen and the smell of marijuana continues to flow through the area. What was a nice area is now a panic, as a young female I know it’s hard to control tenants and how they act but I’m afraid to go outside at night due to all the cat calling. Wonderful home on the inside but horrid area on the outside. Hopefully things get better later in the year because I really love my home. The main office employees are amazing! I love how fast they are to respond even during the time of the pandemic, thanks for trying your best! Hopefully life gets a bit better!
I’m moving from another city to this community and needed to be accommodated so that my move-out/move-in date would be the same. With the help of Raquel, I was able to do that, which is a huge relief to me!! Not too many places will be willing to do this, especially during a pandemic. The community is also beautiful and in a very nice area, would highly recommend!

The tour that Tressa gave was professional, she’s a sweet person but the rest of the staffs was nice until they decided to go back 22 years of something my Beau did when he was younger which was a domestic dispute in a old relationship. They could’ve called our current rent manager to ask about his character which would’ve been great with no complaints or noise disturbance, she see’s us as a nice quiet couple. The only reason we decided to move is because the apartment complex is going downhill tremendously even though we’re currently 5 minutes from the Ballantyne area (We do not live in a high crime neighborhood). He’s a hard worker that made wrong choices when he was younger, it was very unprofessional how they treated us afterwards, everyone deserves a second chance if it’s something from over 20 years ago.. This apartment complex is very judgmental. I gave two stars instead of one because the place seems to be well kept with good landscaping
Loved living there. Great staff who are helpful and friendly. There were times I needed help with some plumbing and AC issues and they took care of them the same day within hours of me calling them. Both time were on the weekend so a great response time. I highly recommend this complex to anyone.
I was a Marquis Of Carmel Valley resident for a very long time: 2004-2016. The service that I received from MCV management, front office and maintenance staff during that time was extraordinary. That, plus a quality apartment in a well-built structure in a sound community in a great side of town, inspired me to stick around for a while. The whole time I was there, the front office staff were attentive and courteous to me, maintenance needs were attended to promptly and performed right the first time, and management always seemed engaged in a positive way. My unit was quiet, had an easily navigable floor-plan (Called the A-3 Periodot at the time), and seemed to have quality construction, as I detected no noise. This is no cut-rate, thin-walls community. The amenities are outstanding: outdoor pool and hot tub with an attractive pool deck and modern grills open year-round, clean and well-lit exercise rooms, computer room with fax and printer, spacious and night-lit car wash, small enclosed dog park, and more. Landscaping is kept looking first-rate, and the community has a clean look to it. I found my fellow residents to be largely good people. Plenty of neighborhood social events are planned and carried out, such as holiday and pool parties, and resident appreciation gestures are performed as well. Parking can get a little tight depending on which building youre in, but its nothing that cant be tolerated and adjusted to. The immediate south Charlotte neighborhood (Hwy 51 in the Carmel Rd./Johnston Rd. area) is outstanding, as most of ones needs can be walked or biked to, and nearby grocers like Harris Teeter and Food Lion (for example) are within a 5-7 minutes driving time. Theres also easy access from the Marquis to the greenways at Piper Glen and McMullen Creek for general exercise. Rent seems reasonable for what youre getting and where you are, and I experienced no issues with red tape, excessive fees or charges when I departed. The only reason I left was that I purchased a house. In short, consider me a completely satisfied former resident who definitely endorses living at the Marquis Of Carmel Valley. (Enjoy my community photos, most of which I took during a Charlotte snowstorm in 2014. For those who may infer from this review that Im a Marquis employee or somehow on the take, nothing could be further from the truth. All of these are -my- words and of my own free will.)
Moved in with HIGH HOPES, I believed the residential value was worth the rent, however, I have been disappointed & unsupported by the maintenance teams in my quest for a safe living space. Apartment Managers have total access to my apartment whenever Im away without giving notice; this is a BIG PROBLEM. Constant apartment entry without notice can be very bothersome. The apartment landscape is only an aesthetic view to please the eye, while the building/units have not been serviced in areas of HVAC equipment and electrical systems upgrades in 20 years. Learning several DIY prevention techniques to stop the possibility of refrigerant/freon poisoning leaking into my older unit. #StayHealthyandSafe #LeaveTheDoorsOpen #FreshAirRare #Maintenance

I have lived at this property for 8 years. I Love it! Beautiful apartment in a Beautiful setting. It is an older community which means you get a bigger apartment! Love that!The Service is amazing! Always quick to take care of whatever you need. The maintenance staff is always on point! Quick to respond to your work order and always friendly.This community is also located in a great part of South Charlotte.I Love that they share their amenities with their sister community across the street. Its great to have two workout areas or pools to use.I also love that they have food trucks every week (between the two properties)!I love feeling safe and tucked away up in the pines. A little piece of quiet nature hidden away in South Charlotte~

Latressa was awesome throughout the move-in process, she made sure the process was smooth & quick. She played a key factor for me & my family to choose the Marquis at Carmel Valley. The apartment unit is great! However, my biggest issue is the parking situation; i can probably count with one hand the times that Ive been able to parked in my units parking area, most of the time I have to park by the office which is about 350ft from my apartment building. This is very inconvenient for all the reasons; but the main one is that i have to walk with my babies (2 & 4) every night upon arrival. Ive reached to the leasing office a couple of times to try to find a different approach, but was told that they would communicate to residents that have designated parking spots & make sure theyre using them instead of taking the ones for all other residents, also inquire about renting a parking spot, i am yet to hear a follow up on this. I understand that parking is always a concern for apartment complexes, but in my experience, this one is in another level. Ill put a pin on this, & maybe like this, i finally get a follow up on my concern.**UPDATE**Thank you for reaching out, Latressa did call me to follow through, however the carport that was offered, was not suitable because of the distance situation; it was only saving me 60ft to 80ft on distance to my unit, so it was still far away, which is my main concern. Hoping to see other options whenever they become available. Thanks.
I lived in this community for 3 years, they maintain the community very well. The maintenance requests are promptly addressed. The maintenance crew is courteous, we love Ryan. So far this is best community and management i ever lived. I will recommend this community to anyone.
I have lived at Marquis for over ten years and love it. It is a great place to live, with large spacious rooms and garages that are perfect for those that need them. The maintenance crew is outstanding. Always there with knowledgeable people willing to help at a moments notice. Located in a perfect location just minutes away from everything you might need from shopping to recreation. The admin staff is courteous and helpful, Rachel, and Charlotte are top notch administrators. I will be happy to live here during my retirement years. Thank you Marquis of Carmel Commons.
The office staff at Marquis of Carmel Valley are extremely kind and helpful. They happily answered all of my questions while I was trying to make my move from MI to NC in September. Raquel was able to get me into the unit I wanted with no problems. I am always served with a smile. The maintenance team is excellent and very on top of anything I need repaired. I am very happy in my new home. Its a comfortable quiet place to live.
Looking for an apartment can be a daunting task, especially when moving to a new, unfamiliar location. My boyfriend Justin and I have had a great experience so far with Marquis at Carmel Valley and staff. We went and did a self tour through their model unit and it was very clean and cozy. A few leasing agents checked in with us at the end of the tour and answered all of the questions we had. The pool and grounds were very well kept and felt very safe. The leasing agent who has been helping us, Raquel Perdomo, has been extremely helpful and accommodating for our needs making us feel at home. Overall, the apartment is in a great location with a lot of shopping/dining etc nearby. We look forward to moving in and being able to call Marquis home!
Amazing facility
I went to see a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment a few days ago. I was given a map, and had to find it on my own instead of being led there. It was a really nice apartment. Very clean. I had my heart set on it. Then I came back today with my husband. I was really looking forward to having him see the same type of apartment. I even specified i wanted to see a 2 bedroom, 2 bath. When I arrived, I was ignored. I was sitting in my car since we arent allowed to enter the leasing office. Tiffany was interacting with someone. As she walked by, I waved and she didnt look at me even though I was parked right in front of her. My husband arrived. We walked up to the door, knocked, and she eventually came and opened the door. Next, she told us where to go to look at the property. I asked if she was going to show us where it was. After handing me the map with the location of where we should go to look in an apartment, she said just put this address in your GPS and youll find it and disappeared back into the rental office. She didnt say anything about how nice it was to see me again, or how nice it was to meet my husband. We werent told we would be looking at a smaller, one bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment. It made me feel like what Im looking for doesnt matter and that theyll show you what they want, not you.I did want to move there, but now I dont. Im glad i got a small look at how management acts towards tenant, and that saves me the possible headache of trying to get the front office to do anything for the tenants.Every other apartment I checked out sent an email to me within an hour of taking my time to be interested in renting saying how nice it was to meet me. This time, they didnt do that.This was a blessing in disguise.
I have lived here at the Marquis of Carmel Valley for 3+ years and can honestly say this is hands down the best apartment complex Ive ever resided in.The entire staff, from management to maintenance is friendly, helpful and caring. The girls in the office office are a pleasure and the grounds are kept up to the highest standards. Its quiet and peaceful yet just a hop skip away from any kind of shopping or amenity I need.I highly recommend the Marquis of Carmel Valley to anyone looking to live in the South Charlotte area.
In looking for a place I could call home, I stumbled across a little hidden gem that was tucked away surrounded by these beautiful trees and along with the most immaculate grounds. I could not wait to see what the units looked like on the inside. It was a Saturday afternoon, so there was quite of few people in the leasing office, I anticipated this, so I was prepared to wait. On duty, Leasing Agent - Tresa was very pleasant and poised and came to the lobby to determine the bedrooms each of us were looking to view, and in the order we that we entered the office, I might add. Tresa advised the timeframe, it would be to view based upon, the couple she was currently working with and the other couple that was in front of me. I left to get coffee and came back and was just in time to talk with Tresa and explain what I was looking for. Tresa was extremely attentive to my likes, dislikes versus my nice to haves. I must say, that I was extremely pleased with the apartment units and all the amenities offered. I was even more impressed with Tresas vast knowledge of their offerings per unit, the different floor levels, all while I continue to change my mind. I settled on the unit that best my list of requirements. Treas was such an absolute pleasure to work with and she was very patient as I decided (as i changed my mind a couple of times). I left, feeling this is truly a place I could call home. I have been in the unit for a little over month now and I am ecstatic with my new home! It feels like a house, with all the amenities offered, it such a peaceful and serene place to live. At move in, I could not find one thing wrong with the unit, it is in excellent condition. Marquis of Carmel Valley has it all, the comfort of home, an apartment community that cares and offers so much to the families living on this gorgeous property.
I love my apartment at Carmel Valley! I hope to live there for a long, long time. Charlotte and the entire staff is very friendly, nice and helpful. They all really do go above and beyond to satisfy your wishes for your apartment. I am always impressed that the pool is kept perfect every day. Never a leaf or anything floating in the pool. We enjoy the hot tub and the amenities so much, I dont think we could really be as happy anywhere else. At least once a month, we meet someone really nice at the pool.This is just a wonderful and affordable place to live when compared to other communities in the area.
The reason they don’t have any recent reviews is because they have the bad ones removed. The community director is not involved and have new employees handling everything they have no business handling, their staff lacks diversity & they have one person of color who doesn’t have a hand in anything important the rest of the staff from the desk to the maintenance are 90% white they treat their POC tenants differently and give them a hard time I’ve watch them more than once over the years only check residents at the pool for residency once POC arrived this is my personal experience and is honest if my review is to be deleted it will not go unnoticed and will be handled appropriately. Their overall rating would be a lot lower if it wasn’t constantly manipulated in their favor. I do not recommend.
I just renew my leasing here at The Marquis at Carmel Valley. This a great place to live! The staff are very friendly and services when you need is almost immediately. Plus we have many different kinds of events throughout the year for everyone. This is great opportunity to know our neighbors and make new friends. For sure this is the best place to call home!
Me and my wife moved in around 3 months ago and we could not be happier here. The apartments are extremely well maintained and the customer service from the front office is consistently great. I can count on one hand how many times I have reviewed anything, but I have no problem writing this one.
Love Marquis life. I love the feeling I get when I walk into the clubhouse. The sun shines brightly and glistens off the pool. The staff is always upbeat and welcoming. Love hosting Apartmentlife events there and the residents are great! Lots of families and friendly pets. Beautiful property. Charlotte and team are A1!
The leasing office is wonderful to work with, the maintenance guys are eager to make sure you have comfortable living and very very polite. The experience I have had since moving in has been beyond what a review could articulate. I feel safe, and I feel like they truly care about the quality of my living. Coming from out of state, I felt like I had seen the property even though I hadnt.
Our apartment is really our home! Great location, clean, quiet place, the best of what can be. Reasonable price - gives us the idea to continue renting! the best service in the area, staff at the highest level, office management is also actively involved in the life of the community! Interesting and regular events organized by the office will not let you be bored, and a great pool, recreation areas and friendly neighbors provided us with comfort and tranquility.
The staff has been so great and are always very accommodating! I have gotten to know most of them by name and just go by the office to visit. It was a breeze to get everything arranged and moved in! I wold recommend this complex to anyone!
The personnel in the office and the maintenance crew here are amazing. They have truly made our experience here worry free. I have had some challenging experiences with apartment hunting here in Charlotte, so it has been so nice to be able to find this gem. I have absolutely no complaints.
My two roommates and I lived in this community for about 2 years. During this time we had fairly few complaints. The community was clean, pet-waste free, always well landscaped, and the staff were very pleasant. With the few maintenance issues we had, the maintenance team responded quickly and provided email alerts or phone calls before even entering our apartment. The 24hour maintenance guarantee is definitely upheld here and your needs feel validated. The biggest recurring problems we had are in regards to pest control and paint. Firstly, our kitchen cabinets were said to be a dark-brown color. This was true, however, the cabinets had only just been painted over and were actually a light brown underneath. This would have been a non-issue had the paint not peeled off fairly quickly (within months) at the waist level revealing the ugly color beneath. The paint was sticky, almost rubbery, and peeled even when you attempted to clean the cabinets. It was so ugly we stopped having people over. Luckily, the complex did not charge us for this at move-out. Secondly, we had a recurrent problem with roaches. Literally weekly we would find one or two in the apartment; sometimes in the bedrooms. This truly became a problem towards the end of our 2 years when we started finding baby roaches around. We asked about pest control and were assured that the entrances were sprayed, but the problem did not improve for long. Overall, our time at Marquis of Carmel Valley was uncomplicated. Our rating would definitely be higher had we not had such a roach problem. Otherwise, rent was fair, the staff were great, and communication regarding community goings-on was excellent.
The office staff as well as the maintenance staff is amazing. They go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. As an ex Property Manager I would have loved to have this crew on my staff.
Ive only been living here for around a month now, but as it took a VERY long time hunting for apartments to find one I both liked and felt comfortable in, this place has been amazing. My biggest concern was not feeling safe, and the first night I slept like a baby. All the women at the front office are so genuinely friendly, positive and helpful, which is GREATLY appreciated because that is not always the case. The complex is clean, quiet and cozy. They send out emails in regards to holiday safety, when a maintenance cleaning is happening or when social events are being planned for the residents. So far I cant say enough great things about this place. It feels like home already. Thank you!!
Ive only been here a few months but i love this place! Its in a good area, close to everything. My unit is beautiful and updated. The staff are very friendly and its easy to pay rent/put work orders in/etc. People are always out walking their dogs or playing with kids. And i dont hear too much noise from my neighbors. I would recommend this place for sure. :)

Me and my husband have been living here since August of this year. I have nothing, but only amazing things to say. The staff is very nice. We are always updated about what is going on in the community and events in the complex via emails. The amenities are great. The community is well kept and clean. Never had any problem with my apartment. If I could give one suggestion would be to improve the trash situation. The dumpster is very far from the apartments. If there was a company to pick up the trash in the door like some other places have, that would be amazing.

Ive been here 3 months. The staff has been helpful and always courteous. Ive not had any maintenance issues. I was looking for safety, convenience, amenities and have found that. The neighbors Ive met have been very friendly. The downside of any apartment is hearing every sound the neighbor above makes. The kitchen needs updating, but otherwise, I love the apartment.

I recently visited Marquis at Carmel Valley I loved the facility and the staff very nice and professional. However, I had reviewed the special on line that stated if you Look & Lease Same Day to Earn FREE Rent! I went to view the property in anticipation to look and lease and earn FREE rent when I spoke with the staff they stated that it would only be a refund of the Admin fee and application fee. A $225.00 credit is no where near FREE rent. I am disappointed in the false advertising. This made me reconsider renting an apartment because they should be honoring what there website states in black in white. I was highly disappointed with this situation and that it was not handled properly due to false advertising!! I contacted their corporate office regarding this and I have yet to receive a response or call!!
Its been 6 months since we have been here. We did have some apartment AC/ Heat issues in the beginning but the staff was always proactive to our concerns and did their best to fix it on time. The maintenance crew is always prompt to any complaints. The leasing staff is amazing as well! We love our apartment and the pool is also nice. They do have some community activity going on at least once a month which is also nice.Will definitely recommend!

Due to some circumstances beyond our control at another apartment location, we were extremely lucky to find Marquis of Carmel Valley. Latressa Williams welcomed us and worked patiently with us late on a Friday afternoon to make it possible for a move in the very next day. I absolutely love her professionalism and caring spirit throughout the entire process. We received a welcome home gift which we greatly appreciate. Once the final walkthrough checklist was submitted, the maintenance guy arrived w/in an hour to correct a small issue detected with the dryer. We appreciate him and his prompt service. Those type of things make coming home pleasurable and Im proud to call the Marquis of Carmel Valley home!!

Love this place. Reasonably priced, clean, well kept, updated. I sometimes hear the people above me but I supposed thats expected with an apartment. Management always fixes issues right away, plus they are all super nice. Great place to live.
I have lived at Marquis at Carmel Valley for two (2) years. The community is clean, quiet, safe and in close proximity to the Greenway. Pets are welcome, the staff is friendly and the maintenance team is on top of every request immediately. I have taken advantage of 24 hour access to fitness center. The only suggestion I might make is to extend the hours of the hot tub. 10:00 pm is a bit early in the summer for adults. Im fortunate enough to be getting married this fall so Ill be leaving, but would recommend this community to a friend -- in a heartbeat.
My rental office girls are the best they just are always to resolve any problem with your unit or just to make you a happy day.
Im not sure I live in the same apartment complex as some of these other people. I dont have nothing but good things to say about living here. The staff is very friendly although I dont think they know me by name but thats kind of my fault. I rarely have to talk with them and when I have they have been very helpful in taking care of whatever my needs have been. I love my apartment! It suits my needs perfectly. Mine is one of the ones that hasnt been renovated but it is still very nice and as a few others stated, I do feel safe living here. The one blemish is the cost of rent, it keeps getting higher with each lease signing. If it goes any higher I will have to find some where else to live.

This is a truly great place to live. Large feeling apartments with 10 foot ceilings and crown molding, washer and dryer provided plus large bathroom with double sink vanity and garden tub. Best feature is big dog park with friendly dogs and well used so easy to meet other dog lovers. The front office is fantastic and Tiffany is the best. Have never misplaced a package and always willing to help. Maintenance is promptly completed with exceptional expertise.Fantastic location close to Trader Joes, Ameilies French Bakery and Cafe, Torrington square and markets plus Ballantyne. For the price and quality you cant go wrong. I recommend without hesitation.
My review had to change based on my experience. I wont go into detail right now but if you do, get every single thing they tell you in writing or they will try to scam you. Beware! Luckily, someone from the corporate office was able to intervene and really help me out so its not all bad just be careful. Otherwise, the area is nice and quiet. Not family friendly but if you need a safe temporary place to stay, its okay. Maintenance staff has been good too.

The walls are very thin in this apartment complex. The tenant above me sound as if she is coming through the ceiling. I notified the office and was advised by Brittany, the manager, that I could inconvenience myself by moving to the third floor and pay an additional $123.00 per month. I asked to move, but not if you are going to charge me more due to an inconsiderate neighbor. Why should I have to move? I am more than patient and considerate to my neighbors. WOW!!! I just moved here in July and I am looking to move out already. Between the women above me stomping and what sounds like dropping weights to the dog barking excessively across the hall from me......Its making experience living here miserable. She was notified 3 times and is still not being a considerate neighbor. Now she stomps around literally every 1/2 hour, I assuming because someone said something to her. I would not advise anyone to stay here on the 1st or second floor. If you have a problem at the complex the manager made me feel as if I am just complaining. I wish she could live here and Ill trade places with her. The lease states that they cannot do anything about house noises, but clearly this is more than that. It states that they cannot do anything about noises even with their so called up to date structure. I can actually hear my neighbor talking while passing his door to get to my apartment.Regretfully,

The Management here could not be worse if they were trying. They treat you like you should be thanking them to live there. As for the apartments they are ok but nothing special. For the price you can get an equal apartment a lot closer to the uptown area.
This is a nice Apartment complex, the staff is nice and they do nice monthly events.
The valley girls are the best.
Great Staff and Excellent Place to Live
Very nice community, overall great place to live.
I am very disappointed in the service I have received since I have moved out because this was a great complex to live at. I lived there over a year and really did enjoy it. The other tenants were great, very pet friendly and the staff was very on top of service calls and any questions we had. They were a little iffy with packages sometimes, saying they had not received them when our emails showed us that the packages were delivered.The pool and hot tub were great although the fitness equipment definitely showed some age. My biggest disappointment comes from getting our deposit back. They have acknowledged that we are owed a refund and we were originally told it would take 2 to 3 weeks after our move out date to recieve a check. It has now been 6 weeks since our move out date and no word on our refund.
I love this place! Especially the pool and hot tub!
While I did really enjoy living here, the office staff is just terrible. While moving I had a few packages and mail items that slipped through my mail forwarding service request.It is now almost January and they just called to say they have had mail for us since September. I went to go pick up my mail just to be told by one attendant that she believed the items were returned to sender or lost. She specifally recalled several of my mail items excitedly (Ipsy makeup bags). I was told I would be called on Tuesday to get a for sure answer as to where my mail went. So...of course NO call so i called the office to be told the same thing. Lost or returned to sender. This is just ridiculous. I believe since one attendant was so familiar with my mail that she kept the items for herself. I have to postal service investigating now.

Ive lived here for 4 years and the staff have always been friendly and helpful.
If I would give 0 stars I could. They charged me over 1700.00 for supposed carpet and floor damage from my pet for one small bedroom. If your pet has an accident they will charge you for the carpet AND floor replacement. AND they even added a 25.00 charge for a new toilet pull. I dont even know what that is. Ridiculous!
I have to put in my two cents here.. Ive lived at this complex for over three years, on two different sides.When I first looked at the unit the sales lady mention quite a few times that parking was VERY limited at that end of the complex and that I would be walking quite a bit. So with that in mind, I took it with a grain of salt. I was at the back of the complex and got to watch the deer eat in the mornings and things stayed very quiet so walking a few extra spaces was very worth it. I had make a few service calls on my first two weeks living there the oven wasnt working quite right and the screen door had some little holes in it. The maintenance guy actually came by on his own time to fix my oven since I was making dinner for my family out of town! To make up for the trouble the ladies at the office gave me a gift card to the grocery store. Everyone knows my husband and I by name, Our neighbors are all friendly, and respectful of each other.Anytime Ive had an issue here (even locking myself out) theyve made me a new key in the office in five minutes! This is a really great place..dont let people give you the wrong idea about it. Ive never heard of anyone stealing reserved parking spots... everyone seems pretty curtious. =) Not sure what all thats about..
The staff here is always very friendly and when something needs to be fixed they respond usually in the same day. I just renewed my lease for another 12 months.
This apartment complex PROHIBITS you from displaying the American Flag from your unit...I am not nor will I recommend this place to anyone!!
