Overall nice community but they could improve in few things 1. They keep asking same document again and again. Shared mailbox viewed by many office staff and no coordination 2. Maintenance Requests are delayed. they need more staff or improved process 3. Phone will not be returned so easily once you sign the lease. I had difficult time talking to manager 4. Business Center is not equipped with scanner/printer or working computers. 5.This is gated community but bike theft happens.6. IT support for resident portal is not so good. I had many issues.

There could be many problems you face in any community but if manager is great then thats the blessing who holds the community well. Michele is one such person I worked with . She is leaving soon and my best wishes to her. Thanks Michele !

It used to be better before pandemic, now the leasing staff is rude, lack any courtesy or manners, any maintenance requests takes for ever with no ETA. There are better communities around.

We have lived at Cheswyck for 3 months now. We decided to rent for awhile after being homeowners for 13 yrs. Cheswyck is a place we can definitely call home. The Community is quiet. The office staff is attentive to our needs. Frank from Maintenance is great! Any issue Ive had was resolved right away. Im big on customer service, and theyve made the mark. The only thing I think they need to work on is maybe add an additional trash pick up day, the compactor gets full rather quickly. Definitely thinking of renewing my lease when its time.

The WORST appartment complex in the state of North Carolina. The staff can be rude. They will always find a pretexte not to reimburse your deposit. Feel free to take the risk.

Overall community is ok, Mgmt staff is good. Big and Major concern is Lead of maintenance staff thinks he is the owner of community and so rude to talk to. Unfortunately cheswyck staff listens to him blindly, so he ignores so many maintenance request and thn charges tenants for anything to be fixed, . eg they woudnt fix shower, woudnt fix cracks near basin and once you move out they charge you for those

The flooring is very thin and my downstairs neighbor is very atrocious. Inspite of complaining to the leasing office, no action is taken by them. There is frequent tapping from downstairs for no reason. Their grown up kids tap on the ceiling and parents dont tell them anything.

As a current resident, experiencing few of issues which are not getting addressed at all. Ex. Ceiling fan which are very older one, of course the community is quiet older with patches. Have reported an issue with it, maintenance came and tried to fix but dint works, then left it like that though we report couple of times, maintenance says it can’t be replaced with new. Also sometimes one of the maintenance guy is so aggressive which is totally not acceptable but no choice to stay back in this pandemic. Lets see will give another try and will keep quite as its our mistake to choose this.And there is no separate apartment/buildings for pet free. All are mixed hence its is very inconvenient for others.Likewise there are many more complaints which never gets fixed permanently, alway apply some work around, again you need to raise a complaint, they won’t replace new.Again they reply to this saying that call to office and inform, nothing will work out.

Great area my son lives here he says that he feels uncomfortable at times because of the indian culture he feels that they are prejudice.

Been staying here for 3 years. Since April Rogers took charge, everything is much better than what it used to be. Maintenance requests are addressed promptly.Except below two important concerns (else it would have been 5 star for last year), everything else is better now.1. Package Concierge system is downright annoying and a failure. UPS guys delivered important documents such as passports in wrong mail boxes even though there was special requests for hand delivery. Many times parcel services leave packages right outside the package room which doesnt have a lock. They need to take this entire automated package system down. Courier drivers especially UPS are dropping packages in wrong apartment box. Leasing office do not have accesss to open the lockers and check. Only the residents have access. So if important packages gets in hand of wrong residents who are either out of town or just irresponsible, it will mean trouble for residents.2. Its been months without the fitness center. I wonder how many months does it actually take for a simple renovation

Management—beyond words to describe how poor They have attitude about everything. They ignore and make excuses when it comes to addressing any problem.

After spending 15 mins on phone yesterday with leasing agent Melanie outlining every detail she asks me the same questions AGAIN as if she did not make notes telling me she speaks to “SO MANY PROSPECTS- “ 😱- even though I made an appointment I just left - I read reviews before coming & I am sad to say this is not a good look for this company. Unprofessionalism at the start (pl note I’ve been visiting other properties to compare) I can’t imagine what daily life would be.

This property is always clean,Quiet,Very family oriented..The woman staff are very friendly, helpful, and take the time to show tours of the whole property. The maintenance staff are totally professional, they get the job done, no matter how big or small...Everyone Always wears uniforms, which is nice to see,Always matching.Two pools,Two tennis courts,Two Gyms, and a hot tub...BUNNYS, RABBITS, AND TURTLES, WITH AMAZING LANDSCAPING...My wife feels safe, and with that said, HAPPY WIFE HAPPY LIFE!GREAT PLACE TO LIVE!!!

Cheswyck is a decent Class B apartment complex. 20+ yrs old. Dated interiors, requires a top notch maintenance crew but the rent reflects the value. Not too pricy.Didnt move this round.....want to give the place a chance to rekindle itself as a desirable location. Management is working hard and the grounds crew is doing their best with the resources. Works for some people and doesnt for others. Heres to a wacky 2020. Maybe 2021 will be better......

We have been staying here for the past two and half year or so. It’s a good place with more Indian crowd. Relatively older apartments and peaceful most of the times. We had few incidents before but nowadays it’s quite good. Rents can be sliced and the maintenance works could have been better and faster.Leasing agents Brook and April are very helpful.

I dealt with the leasing agent Brooke and she was so helpful! She went out of her way to make sure I had a great experience. Her enthusiasm and friendliness while working with me was one of a kind. The grounds are well kept and the maintenance staff are friendly and service oriented. I have found the office staff to also be responsive and friendly. The appliances are not so good. Ive had problems with the refrigerator and the washing machine. Ive also had water leaking from the ceiling. However, in all cases, the office staff responded to my request for help quickly and the maintenance staff took care of the problem.I have no reason to complain about the people who work here, they are respectful service oriented and helpful. The appliances are cheap, the people are good.I think the buildings and the grounds are laid out nicely and the amenities are nice. Its a pretty apartment complex.

It is one of the best apartments in Ballantyne in terms of amenities and its the best in terms of rent and value.It has a Best pool, multiple lighted tennis courts, lively grill area and open clubhouse party area, its just as if you are in a resort. Any in house issues resolved promptly. It is Rich and clean community. Staffs here are amazing and friendly. Also its in a very convinient location, what else one can look for?

Awesome place to stay!!! Location is excellent, close to the best schools and all possible amenities nearby. Apartment complex is really good and I have absolutely not a single complain till date (have stayed close to a year now). Leasing office people - everyone is very helpful and responsive at all times, I would definitely recommend this place if anyone is looking for a place to stay in Ballantyne.

We just re-newer our lease for the second year. Overall, we’ve really enjoyed it here. ideal location, all the trees make the property look so pretty and maintaince is responsive. Oh and i LOVE my screen door leading to the porch. the only thing we’ve had an issue with is parking. there’s never enough spaces and I’ve gotten a big parking ticket when i had no where else to park.

The moving process was extremely easy. I so love my apartment. The community is very quiet and kid friendly.

I have lived here for almost 2 years and it is great. I have an upgraded apartment with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. Very family oriented neighborhood. It is gated and we have a police officer that lives on the premises. It feels safe. The grounds are kept clean. The staff are all nice especially April. I dont have many maintenance jobs that need to be done but if I do they fix them quickly. I live on the top floor so no walking sounds. It is also near alot of restaurants and shopping. Also it is near the interstate which makes commuting easier/faster.

This place is horrible, staff of Cheswyck @ Ballantyne is very unfriendly, rude and very keen on their own jobs. Do not understand residents needs/feelings..Ive been resident for quite some time and felt harassment few times by staff (especially new staff including Manager (lady)).Do NOT recommend if you are looking for safe and peaceful stay. My rental payment which was Auto set for previous year was disabled by their portal and after that charged for late payments, When payment date was crossed, notice was circulated to pay $70+rent. There Gym equipment’s are few and from 19th century.Arrogant staff including Manager. old and dirty apartments ...and pathetic management. Appliances are very old... and most IMPORTANT thing NO SAFETY AND SECURITY, no one bother about this. Recently we heard gunshots and car breaking/stealing. These are happening every weekend for last couple of weeks and management are doing nothing.

I dont have option to opt less than one star :). its an horrible complex which are old in security and appliances and high in rent. some times you have an option to play with snakes in your patio and on the roads too.If you get to know the list of maintenance requests that residents submitted and out of them how many are resolved then you will definitely bypass this complex... Yes, no privacy. and when you resubmit the request for any unresolved issues, their response is we did it last time.. how many times that you raise the same request. why the hell the residents raise the complaints if they dont have any issues.Roaches are awesome living along with residents, even residents vacate but roaches are not.. as they love maintenance guys and LL that ensuring not to kill them. Management will not allow you to spend at least 2 days at home to see the bugs and sign the leasing agreement.. because they know the agreement will not gonna happen.You will find beautiful apartments in Charlotte. if you compromised to stay in this community then you are accountable to empty your wallet.Good luck!

The worst place to ever live, bug infested with dirty indoor air handler, my daughter developed asthma our 3rd month living there, they completely ignored to do anything about it until I had code enforcement come out and verify the inside unity was filthy and they had never followed a request to change my air filter, there was a maintenance check done which was a BIG JOKE to find out my air handler in my apartment was never the proper fit which means the air was not properly being filtered, dust buildup on a daily basis on air handler door inside the apartment, Nasty Nasty staff, maintenance and when you complain they will say of roaches and bugs are not a problem u til you get the proper authority involved. DO NOT MOVE HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT. I promise.

Went to this apartment loving the floorplans, space and location of the property. Started filling out the guest card with the leasing agent and she asked me about my dog, I let her know we had a chocolate lab and she let me know that they had a 35lb weight limit on their pets, but they’re totally a “pet friendly” community. She then asked me if i would be willing to let my dog stay elsewhere in order to live at their property. WHAT A JOKE. Anyone who has a heart and owns a pet would not put the dog “elsewhere” to live in your community. This property should not get the title of pet friendly as they are friendly to small pets only. ✌🏼

I am living here for the past 6 months, I was new to this area and without knowing about the community, I have signed for 1 year lease, but now I am feeling for my mistake. Maintenance is very poor and the community seems to be very old, if you are taking apartment in first floor, we have to think twice, since you will hear the walking sound all the day. community doesnt have sufficient parking place and when you inform them, they suggest to take the garage parking which cost monthly $80-100. When we suggest about the designated parking, seems they are listening but no solution.

I have to start by saying that this is HONESTLY the first time in my life I have ever given a bad review. I would not suggest that anyone move in to these apartment complexes! The management staff is simply HORRIBLE, there are no other words. The gate, while recently fixed, malfunctioned for about 4 years. One day it actually closed on my car while I was driving through (and no Cheswyck, if youre reading this, I was not following anyone out for the hundreth time). I had to pay $500 to have my car fixed. They were no help, they didnt even apologize. All they said was that they had never had any complaints about the gate before and that they werent responsible. You can clearly read reviews on several sites where tenants complained about the gate so thats a lie! Be careful, because some of the gates swing forward and some swing out. In addition, the street lights have gone off several times and it always takes weeks before they are fixed. We even called Duke one time and they didnt even know there was an issue. Obviously Cheswyck hadnt even called them. There have been issues of theft and vandalism. My brother in law had his car broken in to and all they told him was to call the cops. Look, bad things happen and its not the apartment complex fault, but show a little compassion for your tenants. With me, just an apology goes a long way. Lastly, a maintenance worker came to fix a problem but it wasnt a good time and I asked him to come back. He got upset and tried to come in anyway! My nephew actually started crying and I again told him to leave. I called the office to complain but the manager wasnt available so I left my phone number and she never even returned my call! Please take these reviews seriously and find another apartment complex to live in. There are too many other nice places in Ballantyne that you can rent for the same price and be treated better.

Stay away from this apartment. They would provide false information about units. Especially stay away from the assistant manager Michelle. She is full of lies. I stayed just because my friends were there. They charged for things which were not damaged. When you decide to move-out, the leasing offices target is $2000 to collect from you by putting all fake demages. The manager does not seem to have any power, its all controlled by Michelle. When you you move-in, she would talk like a candy with full of lies. She told that the carpet was new, counter-top were marble and notice period was 1 month. After moving in i realized that carpet was not new, counter-top was not marble. The balantye area was the only reason why people would stay here.They used to have some fake IDs to post good review about this apartment, I recently noticed a review from maintance guy who was working there. Filthy swimming pool, always broken gate. There were many of shooting incidents happened there. We were told that some kids were playing there with guns only during nights. No stringent action was taken from Leasing office and when you plan move-out,make sure you are present when they do move out inspection.

Welcome to apartments wherein robbery is getting common. Just today 2 car breaks in reported. Isthe management not sure what to do wit it or just don’t care.This is happening every summer now. I have being here for 3 yrs. crazy management.Beside this pools won’t open. Only 1 pool is open every summer. They won’t repair the other one. Last summer they didn’t open.

It is supposed to be a gated community. But most gates (there are 3) are almost always open for past few weeks. People have heard gunshots near gate 2 twice. People have even discovered the fired bullet shells. Called 911 and also informed leasing office. People keep seeing/hearing gunshots near gate 2 by a person driving a truck. Used to feel safe before, but i cannot say that now

It is not worth the rent being charged. There are severe problems with maintenance. The maintenance manager is someone you should avoid talking with. Property manager is professional, but that does not solve problems or improve quality of stay. Gym is a serious problem. Certain group of individuals capture the facility and then it smells like certain food. Same is the case with swimming pool!!Please look around. The area is nothing special. For no reason it is expensive.Overall, it is not worth paying so much rent.

This place is a DISASTER. I really regret why I took the lease here. Since I was New to Charlotte & not many people to guide me, I ended up here. Horrible Maintenance. Management basically lacks, what we call as Professional Speaking. I saw somebody giving comment that, they have plenty of play area. I will really appreciate if someone can help finding them, as I could not find 1 for my kids in last 1 Yr. I feel discrimination done against certain group of people. As of now, I am not calling it Racial Discrimination. I am taking forward, all the issues with their Corporate Office.

Terrible management, they only care about the rent $$ they are getting. They advertise 2 pools and only 1 is in working condition, the one that is open is so gross you will get sick from swimming in it, the closed one looks like a dumpster pit. Very poor washer/dryers they are ancient and not dependable. Maintenance does the bare minimum to fix problems. I wouldnt recommend this complex to anyone. Overpriced and poor quality. And not to mention all the smelly Indians at this complex, they seem to be the only ones okay living in this kind of dump.

I wish I could zero stars. They had a sex offender named Alejandro Martinez that used to work here for maintenance. Imagine having that enter your home.This place has roaches and will not fix the issue. The front office is rude and doesnt like you if you are Indian even though it is 90% Indian.The front office doesnt know how to run a business or have any skills in dealing with people.Also, they enter your apartment without you knowing. They will change your air filter with you not home and just knock and enter.

I will recommend to stay away from this place. Leasing management staff are useless and rude, Lots of chaos here no facilities..gym equipment is so old and only few for such a large community....maintenance crew is rude and arrogant, you have to keep calling them for the same issue but that will never get fixed. Recently GUNSHOTS and BULELTS happening in community few time in last one months, no safe for families. Office is silent on all these and they are not working on any preventive measures. Gates are broken, Car stealing happening, no cameras and management is worried about how to increase rent.... stay away from this place...

For past few months there has been weekly gun shootings. Teenagers terrorizing the streets (speeding, drifting around corners), ive witnessed Drug dealing, And a lot of theft going on ( apartment and car break ins ). I have noticed local police does drive through neighborhood every night but that still hasnt stopped this. I feel very unsafe and plan on moving asap. Wouldnt recommend these apartments to anyone as of how it is now. There was many near by communitys which offer more safe and enjoyable living arrangements.

Location is the only positive. These are old apartments. Lot of Desis which is advantage for people with kids .

Extremely disappointed with my stay and the fines they put while move out. Be Careful in taking the Lease, I have been billed for 1500$ for my move out. I never faced this situation in my experience.

A gate way community with low fare and nice environment..

Very very less customer support . Never clean, no care taken, Flies all over . No space to car parking, Leasing office support call is never returned . Just the business taken . On vacating they have carpet with 10 year life asking me to pay for it which i paid around 600 dollars from my pocket . Hence never consider this apartment for rent .

This apartment complex was horrible for the price they charge. To begin, I wanted to rent an apartment mid month but they said to reserve it I would have to start renting on the 5th of July- which is completely reasonable. However, when I moved out, I gave my 60 days notice that I would leave at the end of June and would pay the prorated fee for the 5 days to complete a one year contract. I turned in my keys and had the final inspection. A week later I got an email saying I must still pay the full month of July and since I had already turned in my keys the apartment would stay vacant.If you think you are paying for the safety in this complex, don’t. My car was broken into and when I filed a police report the officer said a residents car had been stolen that night. There were gunshots at the apartment. The gated entrance is constantly broken. Managements response to all of this is always a note in the door saying “safety is YOUR priority”.Maintenance was absurd. When my air conditioning stopped working they added freeon to the system. When it stopped again a week later they actually checked to find a leak in the pipe. They said they had to order the piece and it wouldn’t come in for 2 days and there was nothing else they could do in the meantime.There was a leak in the bathroom ceiling and when I called maintenance they checked with the upstairs resident and said he wasn’t using a proper shower curtain. The leak continued for a week until the ceiling split and water poured on the floor. The actual problem was that the pipes in the upstairs residents apartment weren’t properly sealed and water had been leaking between the drywall and pooling on my ceiling.I am not happy with this complex and how management responds to problems.

Maintenance are very poor. The maintenance people dont how fix basic things. My apt a/c was working in call maintenance they come and checked more them 5 hrs and said ac will work like that. This is 8 time for the same issue

The apartment itself wasnt horrible, the neighbors were another story. The management needs work, and a lot of it. I agree with most people who rated, they are out for the bottom line and could care less about the people living there, whoever can write a check gets in, which leaves the door wide open to problems. Yes, I am profiling...political correctness be damned. It always comes down to money, these people are no different.Have your affairs in order when it comes to vacating the apartment, because they will utilize every trick and trade hidden in that perfect lease contract to soak the last dime.How is this really different than anyone else these days, really??

I have moved in about three week ago and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Have had to call Maintenance at least four times now and twice for AC in less than three days. The front office staff is courteous and decent to deal with; however, their manager, Debbie is arrogant and rude. The upgrades are super cheap SS appliances that arent even installed properly and wood floor, its not actual wood but vinyl that looks like wood. We are on the 3rd floor and there are still TON of bugs in the entrance of the house. There are three gates in this community and 2nd Gate has been broken since weve moved in and it STILL hasnt been fixed. I definitely would not recommend this place....as others have suggested theyre charging higher prices only and only DUE to neighborhood/zip code theyre in.

Nice Apartments building a very high traffic area

I have been living in this apartment for a year.This community money oriented. They all want is money. Dummy floor plans though.In some apartments bath room door when opened stops the hallway. Without seeing inside of the apartment never book any apt.Car parking is hell. There are many stealing though its gated community. My friends apple iphone was stolen in 10 mins from the car and many things like GPS other accessories have been stolen from many cars by breaking side doors.Still community staff doesnt care and very stubborn. Staff members are not friendly, polite, helpful and respectful I would never recommend it..

I would never recommend Cheswyck Ballantyne. The staff is not helpful in solving any problem, maintenance people report that they have fixed the problem without even fixing it, LIAR!!!!! Even when you have clearly mentioned that you dont want them to enter in your apartment in your absence, they will still do. AND THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW!!! No respect for privacy at all. Horrible staff and maintenance, I have nothing good to say about this place. I lived in Camden Ballantyne for 2 years and I never had any problem, after my lease is over I am going back to Camden.

Be prepared to pay for replacement of their old equipment when you move out .I wish I could give - 5 star ratings. I stayed at cheswyck for over 18 months. I had to call maintenance at least once a week to fix their equipment. I was surprised to see a close out bill of over $400 on top of loosing my security deposit of $250. when I called their office managers completely bamboozled me, she said carpet stains were not removable and I had to pay for their entire carpet which was already old and worn out when I moved in. on top of this, I received an additional month of utility bill because they apparently FORGOT to inform AUM. Terrible management.

I LOVE the Cheswyck. I have been here since 4.24.16 and I am renewing my lease. I am actually upgrading to a larger apartment. The office staff is VERY welcoming and always helpful - - service with a smile! Maintenance at one point was a bit sketchy. However, it has much improved in the last 6 months and is now GREAT!!!! Problems are handled in a timely manner and the grounds are well kept. The maintenance staff are all personable and friendly. Also, the location is wonderful. Everything you need is right here...Harris Teeter, CVS, Walmart, restaurants, etc. In addition, Stonecrest and Blakeney are really close by. The complex has a tennis court, two pools, a grilling station and two small fitness rooms. Check out Cheswyck at Ballantyne, youll be glad you did!

Great location, decent floor plan but old and tired for $$ they charge.++sLocation, quiet, schools, clean public areas and April who was there throughout my lease period. (High turnover of employees)--sMostly indifferent management and maintenance, parking is horrid, appliances are builder grade from the 90s and prone to breakdown.---------3 really bad experiences to note:- ac went down and maintenace said since it wasnt 85 degrees, they didnt have to come out on Sunday. It was actually 84. Standard kind of treatment received throughout stay- ceiling leaks that were not responed to quickly. I actually used a pot to catch water until maintenace came. When they did show, more indifference and stated theyd be back with bucket. Never showed- parking scam.. I was unable to drive for two months after a procedure. They threatened to tow my car due to expired tag. (Who does that especially since it wasnt close to being expired). One of the new staff stated i had to show registration to avoid this and is still unexplainable, (idiotic and illegal). There were cars with no tags in the parking lot when i moved out...Would of only given it two stars if it wasnt for the location and April who was the voice of reason. This development in another zip would be lower tier but their zip allows a premium for less than average experience.

Upgrades in place now, office staff are responsive, good location and schools.

GM Julie was not knowledgeable of policy of referred employer, she floundered and made excuses by saying all apartments do this, UH no they dont!!! She made my decision very easy for a new home!

Stay away.. Gunshots, Bullets and thefts....

Not a residents centric especially when you are moving out. Inspections will done only after you move out and you will be enforced to pay move out charges at the cost of management inspection (which is done without residents are moved out).

Insecure (recent gun shots), worst maintenance (gates/camera not working) & rude staffs (no action even after lodging multiple complaints)

I like that theyhave bike rentals but the some of the staff was clearly racist and it lacks diversity.

Roaches, broken gates, and rude and irresponsible office staff.

Very arrogant staff !! Maintenance is average and the response time is high for the maintenance request.to sum up, please find an another community.

Good Community to raise kids.

Worst management and be prepared to call 10-15 times to get your work orders completed and when you move out they will just charge you for random stuff so that they Can avoid refunding your security amount.

Management stole 200 dollars from me
