Kristopher was very knowledgeable answering all of my questions and concerns about their property. It was a pleasure working with him, I look forward to making this property HOME!
I’m super excited about moving to Highland Park! Where I live currently, I am not close to many things. The Northlake area is sooo convenient. It’s only 15 minutes from downtown! It’s nice because you don’t have the downtown prices. Even better, It’s also minutes away from my second home Target lol The staff has been super friendly, helpful, and understanding with all of my many calls and questions. I would definitely recommend moving here. Everyone in the office is really nice and I love the residential feel of the community. Move in now !
READ ME FIRST! Probably the worst front staff and new management since Matt Robles left. We had no AC all weekend and our service request was somehow miscommunicated despite calling the emergency line 2x, putting an emergency request via the online portal, and calling 2x on Monday when the office was open. The front staff does not do the bare minimum to make sure their residents are taken care of and don’t take the initiative to help even when telling them it has been 84+ degrees in our apartment on 90degree days, just run-around excuses and deferring the blame to the maintenance staff. The maintenance staff in itself is actually amazing and Rudy should be paid double, but the process of going through the office and communication with the front staff is THE WORST. On Saturday when we called they told us to hang up and call the emergency line instead of putting the emergency request in for us. Don’t waste your time looking here to live
I think some may start to leave bad reviews because the new management is taking steps to improve the community- making sure balconies are not packed with storage, not putting up with dog waste in the community, making sure trash isn’t left everywhere, not allowing weed smoke in the community.... things people were well aware of when signing the lease and are unhappy now that they’re being enforced. I’m personally happy with the changes! Thank you for caring about the happiness of all residents!
IVE BEEN CALLING AND TRYING TO TALK TO SOMEONE REGARDING PARKING IN THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX. Ive talked to the management team as well as corporate, and their biggest concerns where WHO I AM. I pay way over $1,350.00 and the biggest concern is WHO I AM. I want some parking spaces for residences, and at least an security gate. I know for a fact someone gets the alerts from NEIGHBOR APP AND CITIZENS APP. Crime happens everyday and i wanted someone to let me know why ASKING for PARKING is soooo difficult. At this point I AM CONTACTING Jason Stoogenke, of Channel 9 HIGHLAND PARK NEEDS HAVE THEIR WHISTLE BLOWN
I applied for a unit at this place and paid $225 for application fee and admin fee in which it said that my application fee was non refundable but admin fee I would get back if I was denied. Well guess what? I was denied and never got an email to tell me why. I had to call the office two weeks later to ask about the status of my application and found out I was denied and no money was going to be refunded. I just gave this place $225 for free. I still have no idea why I was denied!!!!! They stole my money 😡😤
I loved living at Highland Park. The staff was always friendly, polite, and professional. The complex is very well maintained and I never once had an issue where I even needed to call maintenance! They were prompt with responding to the pandemic and before then, there was always weekly events for the residents. They really do care! This was by far my favorite complex to have rented from. If I wasn’t purchasing a home, I would have 100% renewed my lease with them, and I would 10/10 always recommend this community.
My wife and I lived in these apartments for a year and it was fantastic! The management is super helpful and friendly. The day we moved in the utility company forgot to turn on our power and so EK stayed late and contacted the company several times for us to send someone right away to turn on our power. From day 1 through the rest of our time at the apartments, they went above and beyond for us! The apartments were great, our neighbors were very nice, the gym and pool area were very clean and wonderful, and the location was fantastic. All around this was a great place to live and I would recommend it to anyone! If you have the chance to live here, go for it. We loved it!
I have enjoyed my experience here so far. I love my open space modern style apartment. The staff has been helpful in time if need and complex its conveniently located. The staff also puts a lot of thought into community activities.
I have lived in Highland Park for over 5 yrs with my Father and it has been nothing but Great! Theres friendly staff and they have great facilities. I would recommend it to anyone!!!
I loved this apartment! So clean, so beautiful, so spacious. Very good customer service. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone, out of all the apartment complex’s this was the best one I lived in. Management was by far the coolest! ❤️
Need to stop claiming to be “luxury” cause it’s really not
Love living here! Its definitely the best apartment in north Charlotte. I love being so close to tons of restaurants, bars and shopping. My apartment is so nice and the amenities here are awesome. I feel safe here and the community is always so clean and everyone in the office is so nice and welcoming.
I’m coming up on a year in this apartment community and I absolutely love it! The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. There are always great events going on to help me meet my neighbors and the newly renovated facilities are incredible! I always recommend these apartments to friends ☺️
I’d lived here for a year and a half and it was fine the first few weeks; things started to go downhill as my car was broken into a month later. My neighbor above me moved in and I’d constantly heard her so there was no privacy. The apartments are nice however they’re cheaply built; they have thin walls, cheap carpet and laminate flooring in the kitchen area. The apartment above mine had leaked several times which caused damage to my apartment. Crystal was very helpful and responsive however I’ve reached out to them (Star in particular) for my deposit to no avail. I was able to move-in on a special they were doing at the time but I would suggest you look somewhere else if you’re looking for comfort, safety, and security for the price.
After looking at many apartments I was so happy I found Highland Park at Northlake. The entire experience has been positive. I would like to thank EJ and Star for making the entire process seamless. I love the my apartment and I especially love how friendly and attentive the team is.
The staff is extremely sweet. I dealt with a lady named Shelby and she was so helpful and kind. Beautiful community. Once my current lease is up I cant wait to live here!
I love this community! Jenna is always so nice when I come in and I love how dog friendly the community is. The maintenance team always takes care of my service requests the same day, and my dog loves them! Northlake mall and super target are right down the street so I have everything I need.
The staff (Crystal in particular) was very helpful in getting the room I needed for me and my boys, and the application process was painless and easy. Upon move in, I had a few minor issues that were quickly addressed by maintenance (Rudy in particular) and my neighbors are great. The amenities are great although I would appreciate 7 day trash pickup a lot more. Looking forward to a great time here!Update: These apartments have attached garages, and they do not use quiet openers. Unfortunately, if you are on the 2nd floor (like me) the master bedroom is directly over it! Not good if you have people working third shift. They need to replace them to quieter garages.Update: I understand COVID means scaled back services, but my AC stopped working today and there is no emergency number. You go to press 2 and it ignores your input. hopefully they will be here tomorrow morning.
Be prepared to have constant headaches and contact symptons from the inconsiderate neighbors who smoke loud inside of their apartments CONSTANTLY, as if this stuff doesnt travel through the walls and despite having been contacted by the front office. The apartment, community, and staff are great but this is NOT how I envisioned spending nearly $1100/month for a 1 bedroom apartment!!!
Highland Park has a lovely location across from Northlake Mall with easy access to I️-77 and 485. The property is kept clean and the apartments are nice. However, I️ would not recommend living here. The community manager is unprofessional and immoral. My Fiancé and I️ we’re directly given false information that violated our contract. If we had not referred to it and taken her word for it we would have been conned out of money.
I am looking for an apartment and my move time is within 6 months. I love the area of highland park, so I thought I would swing by to get more information, a tour and get an overall feel for the complex culture. When I visited the leasing office, I was told that my move date was too far away and there was nothing they could do for me. No tour and barely any info was given to me. It was like they couldnt be bothered with someone who wasnt looking to move in right away. I had visited many complexes in the area on the same and was greeted with open arms. If highland park treats their potential residents with such disregard, Id hate to see how they actually treat their current residents.
I would never recommend a single person to move into this apartment complex. The only good thing that has come out of living here is the friendships that have been made over us sharing stories on how horrible this place is. Feel free to review my detailed review on Yelp, but felt it necessary to post another review to warn people. For what you pay, I promise this place isnt worth it. Between the numerous issues that we all have, to nothing being resolved, this last one today did it for me to just confirm how much this company could care less about their residents and clearly, their jobs.Six of us, witnessed a child throw up in the pool, and it wasnt just a little bit, nor just water. A resident went up to the office to make them aware, thinking someone would come shock the pool or at least put a sign up. About an hour later, still nothing, so another resident went to complain. The girl came down to yell at the kids for being on the disabled pool chair, but thats it. So, two hours later, after warning other residents of what happened, I went up there to see why nothing had been done yet. The employee seriously tried telling me that maintenance had come down to put something in the water. After informing her that I had been there the whole time and not one maintenance person had been at the pool or surrounding area, she stuttered and then said they put it in the water system thats located elsewhere, so I just didnt seem them. I had to question as to why they werent going to clean the pool directly after an incident like that and she just said she would have to check with maintenance. Ironically, the pool now has signs saying its closed. Pretty sure this wouldnt have happened if three of us wouldnt have complained. This is just ONE example out of hundreds that we have all had to deal with. There are way too many apartments in the area to waste your time and money on this one. Most of us are just counting down for our leases to be up because its so expensive to leave before.Oh, failed to mention. They were getting so many bad reviews, that they asked residents to write positive reviews for a free gift.
Love the staff at Highland Park Community they are a highly contemporary innovative staff that always go above and beyond to make sure the apartments and our stay are the best..thanks guys..
The location is great and the apartments are nice. I lived here for 10 months and i only moved because there was a rent increase and the staff wasnt the best. Luckily i didnt have too many problems so i didnt have to go to the office that often.
If you like the look of luxury and the quality of ikea this is the place for you.Honestly though there are only a few issues you will have to deal with. The track lighting consistently going out.The paper thin walls that allow you to hear your neighbors breatheDrafty doors and windows,People passed out in the breeze ways. The lack of parking near the mailbox kiosk; that causes the road to get block. The trash compactor doesnt work. Trash is consistently piled up beside it and on it making a nasty smell and eyesore.Prepare to wear shoes inside due to the nails sticking up from the carpet edging. The positive side is the stall is friendly, Im assuming because they know all of the above and probably more.
The leasing agents are all liars! The blatantly lied to a homeless woman from my church, that was trying to get on her feet. They told her that even though she had an eviction on her credit, they could work around it due to her work history. My friend trusted them, they asked for $325 up front, before ANYTHING. They said $25 was for credit check and the other $300 represents money towards moving in. Not only did they deny her, but they told her it could take UP TO 30 DAYS in order for her to get her $300 back! And to add insult to injury, did I mention she IS HOMELESS, in between living situations, so WHERE ARE THEY GOING TO MAIL THE CHECK? She gave them a money order, why should she have to wait to get it back?
This place is by far the worst when it comes to problem-solving. Unless you are desperately searching for a new home, please avoid this place. Unless you have energy to go back & forth with a mgmt company/landlord to render professional services considering your paying rent to them, please avoid this place. If you are NOT a licensed plumber or electrician whom can assess the unit available to you BEFORE (at least 24 hrs) scheduled move-in date, please avoid this place.I consider myself to be savvy but I can honestly say I allowed the appearance of this property to supersede ALL the negative reviews I read. Reality check - Everything that looks goods, isnt always good. Bottom line, if your reading these reviews then your a savvy individual because you want to have a great experience- so please dont make the same mistake that I made and look elsewhere because its not worth it!TO SUM IT UP- Within the first week, Id experienced bad plumbing issues in my guest bathroom and electrical wiring issues in my living room area simultaneously. My plumbing issue was not taken serious until the leakage occurred into their model home. Yes, my apartment was directly above that unit. Afterwards, it was nearly a month and a half before it was resolved. I ended up doing research and reached out to Mecklenburg countys Code Enforcement department for assistance. I have yet heard back from mgmt as regard to when the electrician will come out. I guess the landlord will delay rendering service because they have 60 days from Code Enforcement to have a licensed electrician to determine the problem before getting fined. So in the meantime they simply placed a piece of tape over the outlet that Im not to use. There are so many other smaller issues from head maintenance acknowledging that other maintenance techs dont always check units their assigned to check before the property mgmt releases apartments as move-in ready units to the on-call maintenance tech being sent to my apartment with the same part they tried to fix the plumbing with the 1st time, and stating he had already told them it didnt work then so it wouldnt work the time he was sent out. It was the weekend and I dont think he was suppose to give me that info as I believe they were procrastinating on calling a licensed plumber hence the reason I contacted Code Enforcement.Crystal & Star are semi- professional until you sign the lease contract and please hope that you do NOT have any issues because their maintenance team will NOT be able to help in which will cause this domino effect. Their professionalism will go downhill and if you expect to take it to their corporate office in Atlanta, make time to harass as they do not have time to return calls or follow-up with you as promised once you do get them on the phone.Trust me, IT IS NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE. After two months they agreed to letting me out of my lease without penalty. Talk about inconsideration for my moving expenses and money given thus far. But for a peace of mind- I moving on and if youve taken time to read the reviews, you should as well.Regretfully,Yluv
Make it very hard to convince someone to even your property. No one showed up at office on a Summer Saturday, and the automated phone system hangs up on you when you inquire about leasing. Hmmm
Awesome staff! Great place to live.
Nice & new apartments. But more expensive than other neighborhoods.
The addresses here are hard to see, Sam or even completely incorrect, as if they were swapped around.
Nice place to live, great location
I loved living at Highland Park!
Great place to live
