Exceptional!!!! 5 Stars.Nichole in the Leasing Office is the selling point of this place. Her smile, and professionalism had me sold in the first few minutes of my tour.In addition, I shared on my tour, some key points of what I seek in a home and she notified me immediately with the place of my dreams. My view, the quietness and these beautiful high ceilings... Im in awe.The amenities are great, the resort style pool and cabanas are cozy and I cant say enough about the beautiful location.Thank you Nichole for helping find my home in Charlotte.
After having a horrible experience with another complex while looking for a short term apartment, I called Axis Berewick for information. Nichole assisted me and answered all of my questions. Within a couple of days we were able to sign our lease for a great apartment. Axis Berewick apartments are beautifully designed and have great amenities. The location is super convenient as well. Also, Anytime that we’ve had questions or needed assistance Nichole or Kendall that work in the office have been pleasant & extremely helpful.Even though this is a short term stop for us, I definitely recommend these apartments for those searching.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my home. Just renewed my lease the staff is BEYOND AMAZING and ATTENTIVE. They’re always having food trucks and many other online friendly events. This is a perfect location for all your needs. The property is well kept and very QUIET.
My experience with them has been so amazing. With so many apartment complexes lacking in communications for someone traveling across country to relocate, it was so nice to be heard from the staff here at Axis. Even when they were thrown a curve ball, they still made sure I was accommodated. Which was great as I was stressing about a possible huge change in plans. So nice to have this Amazing customer service even prior to my move in. Alyson and Opal are amazing!!
Ashleigh was my tour guide and she was excellent! She accommodated so many needs and just kept asking what else I needed to see if she could supply just that. They’re determined to have you leave their office happy. The units are updated and feature unique amenities like fenced-in backyards! And individual garages. BEAUTIFUL lobby and pool!! You can even see the mountains from upper floors. Not so cookie cutter like many other apartments. Unfortunately, I could not sign the lease here because it was too far from my work, but I’d recommend it to anyone!Right across the street from outlets, retail and restaurants. Super close to the lake and other activities! It’s definitely a growing area...
Love the apartment and surrounding area. Nichole Alston made the process really smooth.
I just want to give a huge thanks to Ashleigh, Alyson, and Opal for really helping my sister and I get accommodated into our new apartment. You were all very patient and helpful in helping us with our last minute situation. Such a caring staff!
The property is everything I expected and more and the help and quick response I received from Alyson and Opal in getting me approved was phenomenal! These two women are the definition of customer service professionals and put my mind at ease about making the decision about apartment living. I cannot wait to be apart of the Axis Berewick community!!
So far my experience hasn’t been the greatest and I am still waiting on my Welcome Letter!**LACK of COMMUNICATION**
First I would like to say that India in the office provides excellent customer service! We needed our filter replaced and we understood that the maintenance team is overloaded with work orders so the fact that she came by today to drop off an air filter shows that she values us as residents. She even went out of her way to even clean out our storage for us that we had rented out. The new leasing agent passion is really nice too. However, the only issue with living here is that they dont enforce the rules at the pool especially with COVID. Im not really sure if anyone walks the property regularly because its really disgusting. Gates have been broken for months, guest bathrooms smell like a sewage and residents are able to hang towels and blankets over their balcony. The community pictures on their website are pretty deceiving. Trash compactor is always overflowing and they allow any kind of pets to live here but was denied when I wanted to adopt a pitbull, yet there is quite a few on the property and theyre not friendly either. One of my neighbors was able to have a yard sale in the hallway of the breezeways which was very odd but no one seemed to care to address this issue with the neighbor. Sometimes going into the office is embarrassing when I forget my mask because Ken comes off a little too rude making it clear that I need a mask before coming into the office. I can understand that they are just doing their jobs but there is a way to approach someone about it as well.
They have been amazing from start to end. The property is well cared for, they have every amenity you could ask for, and they do a lot of tenant focused events (I.E. cooking and crafting classes) Going on my second year and couldnt recommend them enough.. All of the office staff are great especially Ashleigh. Maintenance calls usually done within the first 24 hours. Great location acrossed from the Charlotte Outlets. Only 3 min drive to Harris Teeter and restaurants. 5 mins to 485 which makes everything a quick drive. With everything going on with covid they been very understanding and have gone above and beyond to do whatever they can to help you. Thank you!
I have been wanting to move to Charlotte for a year now, I had plan on visiting but with everything going on couldn’t get a chance to visit. I started looking around and checked out a lot of apartments. When I called Axis Berewick, India and Opal were super helpful! I was still on the edge about the rent. But the website and both of the ladies were super helpful, and every time I asked questions I felt better because they explained everything. On the moving date our we met Ken and he was very nice as well! We moved out of state without seeing this place in person and have to say we LOVE our apartment and the area. It’s home for us and I have to say the staff does a great job! We are very satisfied! We love the amenities and I hope they reopen the gym soon! I would recommend Axis Berewick to everyone!!
We are transitioning homes and were in desperate need of an apartment that would rent more than 6 months but less than 12 (not easy to find).A friend recommended Axis Berewick so we checked it out. The associate in the main office (Ashleigh) was so welcoming and patient with ALL of our questions. She gave us a lot of information regarding our apartment style options (there were several) and she gave us The Grand Tour. Its a beautiful property, pet friendly, offers 2 fully equip gyms and a pool that is open year round, just to name a few of the perks! The property is very clean and the grounds are definitely kept up. I love the fact that its literally right off of 485 and has restaurants/shopping within walking distance. Needless to say, were moving in and looking forward to it!
Save your time and money.
Beautiful community! The clubhouse feels like I’m walking into a luxury hotel. The office staff is amazing. I won’t be moving into until next year over the summer but when I come back my top choice will be Axis Berewick.
The apartments here are beautiful and the staff in the office are amazing except for the manager Opal. She was very nasty on the phone with my wife about a noise complaint. Opal belittled us countless times and made us feel uncomfortable. She made us want to break our lease and we’re long term residents. I feel sorry for Kenn in the office, he use to be so happy and energetic when we would come by the office. I have spoken to other residents who are of color and they said they feel the same way and those are the reasons why they won’t be renewing. My friend who lived at Whitehall Parc said that Opal was very rude there as well which is probably why there’s a way better manager in the office there now! I really loved living at Axis Berewick but I would rather give my money to a company that values everyone regardless of the color of their skin. FYI i will be reporting this community to BBB and NAACP
At first my friends and I was skeptical coming to tour this complex by the past reviews but my experience was amazing with India yesterday. She was so friendly and was so excited to show us around the community. Once I land a job in Charlotte I’ll definitely be ready to call Axis Berewick my new home.
I was referred to this complex by an apartment relocation specialists. Ken in the office has been dishonest about a refund owed to me for over 30 days. I applied under a look and lease special and because of an ERROR (WHICH HAS SINCE BEEN CORRECTED AND UPDATED) on my rental history my application was denied. I am totally ok with a denied app, I am not, however, OK with being told they would refund my application fee and it going on 60 business days since I have received it. Ken called ME to ask for my address to mail me my refund back on July 8, 2020. It was over a week and I received nothing in the mail. I called to follow up with him on July 15th, he said he would look into and call me back 3 days later, still no call. I emailed and called the office and spoke with Opal, who advised Ken was on a property and would call me back. He never did. Emailing and calling about a refund THIS PROPERTY AGREED to refund me, a refund Axis Berewick initiated. Im glad that I did not rent from this place because of their business practices with a small refund, I can see that living on this property would be a HUGE mistake. I have reached out to the corporate office and the apartment location service who referred me. No one should have to chase someone down for money owed. When it was time to pay my fees, they took the money ASAP. Now Ken and everyone at this property is acting as if they are not at fault. Please note, this complaint is going to the better business bureau as well. Do not do business with them. Be warned, they cannot handle simple tasks in their office, they will not be able to handle problems as a resident. The reviews theyve received obviously do not lie.
Community is safe. Leasing agents are helpful at all times. Love the apartment. Cant say anything bad about it. LOVE IT
Axis Berewick has been a great place to live. The location to the city is amazing and I can get every place I need to go in little traffic. I love all the amenities and all events! Plus the leasing staff is so nice and helpful. Did I mention they are also super sweet to animal lovers!
Love my new home! My maintenance request was addressed the very next day (non-emergency), great area with everything you need close by! Kenn was a pleasure to work with!
Hello to you looking for a place to rent in Charlotte, Steele Creek, NCI was planning to write a review later, however after all that insanity in the world I decide to write now our experience renting an apartment in Charlotte, NC: AXIS BEREWICK ApartmentsMy husband got a job relocation from MI to NCWe are living for many decades in a single family house. In Nov/2019 I start to get my job done...looking for a temporary home ( 3-6 months, tops!! ) in CharlotteI was very scare with some reviews and problems in Charlotte area, however most of my readings IS NOT really all true!We have been living in AXIS BEREWICK Apartments since Jan/2020.My husband, and my daughter and IFrom the beginning, on the phone with Kim, I had a very good vibe, a nice impression that he was open to help when I said I have only the weekend to find an apartment for our family. After visiting several apartments we did not feel confident, or because the building was too old or ...did not click well...Well we got the apartment...third floor...pool view...I have to say...a new building with excellent administration!India and Kim are always open to help, always with a smile in their faces...ready to talk to me and help!Everybody knows how hard is to move, to adjust and to find new friends...They are there for you!Opal, the manager, get a great administration around the clock...the building is clean and the trash are taking care, no problems about that ( as I read in others reviews I was worry about that: HYGIENE! )OUR EXPERIENCE SO FAR IS VERY POSITIVE!The pool area is so cozy and I cannot wait for all that madness is over and enjoy a nice BBQ and pool time! The interior apartment is very modern, open style, good size of balcony...just perfect for us at the moment! It is worthy to check it out!Sonia L Pizani
Please do your research. Do not take my word for it. Read your reviews and believe what you read from residents. If you move here. You will regret it. Too much noise in the units. Our neighbors are rude and out of control.
I really appreciate that new management has finally taken over the community. Often when a community opens a management team will do whatever needs to be done to get bodies in apartments. I feel like we actually have a real management team that cares about the community needs and the residents. The new management team worked with us when renewing our lease, they made us feel like our concerns mattered and that we were not just a number.
BUYER BEWARE: Axis Berewick attempted to sign me into a 10-month lease after getting a price quoted and an OTR sent for a 12-month lease. When I inquired about it, the senior leasing manager responded Were locked into what our computer says, and I cant do anything without my managers approval. If you do engage with them for any lease term, be sure to read the fine print. Otherwise, they will be more than happy to scam you out of your money.
I love this apartment and the location. the ladies at the rental office will take care of you if you let them know of any complaints. I am so grateful that they show that they actually care. for that reason i will be a tenant for axis berewick for years to come.
The office and maintenance staff is AMAZING! I’m loving my stay here!
New staff is awesome! I love that they do monthly resident events!
I have been a resident for 17 months and since the new owners have taken over great changes are starting to take place, especially with security and more social gatherings for the residents are talking place. Unfortunately my job will be transferring me to another site and I will be leaving by end of June. The staff has been great on working with me on breaking my lease due to job transfer.Kenneth BazilioApt. 214 Bldg. #1
Lived here for a while and this place is a disaster.Facility:The trash compactor is overflowing constantly, so theres trash everywhere (piled on top of the compactor, out front, its disgusting). They dont recycle anything but cardboard. Theyve been doing construction for months leaving many of the walkways covered in mud. Many of machines in the gym are broken or badly worn.Staff:Staff is passive aggressive and rude, and quick and ruthless with fines. They just added parking pass system so they can tow your friends, and also fine you another $50 each if you dont give them their sticker back. The emails are the worst.... example, We are so exited to announce we are going green by taking away our free coffee cups in the clubhouse! (woohoo!!)Move to Solace or anywhere else nearby, I have friends living there and they dont have any issues like this. Rent is the same and the appliances are nicer. This place is predatory towards their customers
This has been a long time coming. The quality of Axis Berewick has significantly declined since I moved in last year. I am moving out VERY soon and couldn’t be happier. Here is a list of issues that I have encountered:1.) Valet trash is AWFUL. I think it’s funny that everyone living in the community pay for valet trash in our monthly rent total, considering that half of the time, the trash isn’t picked up. I have had instances where I have gone 2-3 weekdays in a row and my trash was not taken from my door. I have abided by designated times and specified rules for them to even acknowledge my trash sitting in front of my door and they still don’t take it. This has then resulted in hefty fines for having trash sit out. It’s funny when the office emails you with a new fine while your trash is wracking up with more bags stacking up and stinking. Little do they know, it isn’t the residents fault 75% of the time.2.) Passive aggressive emails. We just received a community wide email that comes off very passive aggressive reminding everyone basically how to live in an apartment. I understand rules need to be enforced but there is a difference between enforcing rules and sounding unprofessional. I’ve always been nice to the employees in the leasing office but I recently had somebody complain about loud noises at night coming from my apartment? They basically made up a story saying that it’s basically sounding like we are stomping on our floors and jumping up and down at 12am (which is not happening because I am not that wild and I don’t bring my parties home with me). This person complaining just moved in and the first weekend they start sending in complaints and from what I remember the consultant called my phone and said that it was 3 times over one weekend that this person complained. I have never had any complaints in the year that I lived here until now. You would think that people would have thicker skin when they sign up to live in an apartment? Anyway, the consultant kept me on the phone until I promised to be quiet at night. Since I am moving out soon, and I have had enough of the monkey business in this community, I got a little rude, half agreed to get the leasing office off of me, and hung up. I wish that the leasing office could be on their broken amenities like they are on getting people in trouble and fining them.3.) The broken amenities have been a problem since I moved in last summer. The grills barely work. The gym has terrible equipment that breaks every week. It remains unfixed. I had to get a planet fitness membership because of how poorly kept the gym is. The dog wash station works but has freezing cold air to torture your dog with during the dry off stage. They don’t offer cups anymore for the coffee station, so you have to bring your own cups. I appreciate that they are going green, but it’s very annoying and inconvenient. The fire pit and TV area near the pool don’t work 80% of the time. When you bring any of this to their attention, they say they will investigate and fix it but they never do.4.) Dirty community. You literally walk up and down the halls and there are disgusting stains from garbage on the floors. The hallways stink, especially in the summer heat. The property is poorly kept as they let the grass get knee high before it gets cut — AKA once per month the grass is cut. The grass is inconsistent with patches showing dirt that makes it look unsightly. For the longest time, they dug up the red clay and left it on the walkways so that people and their animals were tracking the clay into their apartments. My carpet is now stained with red clay and guess who will have to pay that fee for their stupid mistakes? Me.5.) The quality of people moving into this community is really decreasing. There are now people who get into domestic disputes and scream at each other in public. There have been physical fights between moving company workers and residents in hallways. There is the constant smell of weed. Constant parties that rage until 3am. It’s bad.Good luck if you move here.
Gym equipment is not being fixed for months.Doors in/out of breezeways are often broken or damaged.New breazeway gates are loud and pointless.Printer does not work 8 times out of 10.There is many loud people, running in the very loud stairs. Many people do a very bad job at parking within designated parking spots. They recently implemented a parking system that doesnt make any sense, they also have visitor parking spots right in front of buildings entrances, go figure why...I feel like a lot of new things are done just to say theyre doing things but they dont take the time to think it through or fix the things that they already have...The 1 star is for their maintenance system and personnel thats pretty good.
Moved to Charlotte from the North West, I am very grateful to the ladies in management that made it possible to be a part of this community, tip of my hat to you ladies! I really like my new apartment n know Ill be comfortable here, 😃
You get what you pay for
Great community! India in the leasing office is amazing!
A very nice and comfortable place to live..My experience here for the last year and a half are great..Convince to everything the outlet mall is 1 minute walking distance..Grocery store and etc are walking distance..10 Star Axis Berewick Rock...
Office management is very passive aggressive, and based on all these google reviews Sherman Residental doesn’t care to address it. A normal day as an Axis resident...receive up to three separate emails a day on events, new fines, parking, tests, you name it. It is beyond annoying, put it into a weekly update and stop bugging your residents multiple times a day. Come home and parking is now a big issue due to new parking stickers even though there are spots. Get out of your car and the public trash can is overflowing and dog feces is ALWAYS all over the lawns (focus on this not emails). If that’s not enough, there is red dirt all over the side walks for over a month from construction. When you finally get to your door, surprise more office notes. It’s almost like the staff sits around and thinks of ways to annoy the residents...lets email a trash notice! Please have someone from Corporate contact me.
I had a long drafted review since May I was saving but Ive shortened it to whats relevant to a person moving in.Unit quality: the quality of the construction to me was cheap for the price range. Which is odd cause theres not much in the area so youd think they give you more for your dollar. But my stove was on a slant and my oven just didnt really heat up too well or it took an extremely long time (my apartment was new or so i was told). My closet rack also came loose, but it wasnt overloaded. The balcony is a nice size but of course there was nothing to look at.Office staff: the gentleman working the office is usually the one there he is sometimey and moody. You get indirect answers which cause you to ask more questions and he will get frustrated leaving you think you did something wrong. Overall not inviting.Packages: youre gonna lose/miss out on packages here. Its not a maybe its a definite. Itd be different if this happened around the holidays or Prime day or just some other time but nah. For whatever reason theres no communication between the office and the delivering party, and/or they just dont know where your package goes. Its all in one room so good luck finding it.Breezeway gates: Probably the biggest annoyance cause they make no sense and make the community look fake safe. Apprently this was in response to cars being broken into (makes no sense). Not only that but every buildings fob doesnt have a call box. So you have to go downstairs to let people up or throw your key down.Visitors: piggy backing off the above, they added visitors parking this year which sorta helped but then they gave out one pass per unit. Cause we all have just one friend right?Location: this isnt the apartments fault but its a renters consideration. Theres quick access to 485 which is good but the food selection in the area is lackluster. The premium outlet mall isnt really all that premium either. Route 160 gets backed up at rush hour as well.
I feel the main source of issues are caused from careless/disrespectful/messy residents. For example, I just walked by fried chicken thrown into a bush on the sidewalk.. sadly/weirdly this was not the first time it’s occured. They need to do a better job at keeping the breezeways clean due to the messy residents. Sherman/Axis sent an email out regarding valet trash times because everyone leaves their hot gross trash bags outside for DAYS but it hasn’t really deterred anyone from it - I appreciate that they actually said something though as previous management would do nothing of the sort. The interior of the apartments are honestly as close to perfect as they could be as far as floor plan/visual appeal goes. I do find Wood partners/Alta maintenance staff to be much faster than Sherman/Axis. My air/heat took a few weeks to fix due to warranty issues and then simple things like light fixtures (which Wood partners/Alta would’ve been out within +/- 2 days or so to fix) have been open for over a week or two.I really have liked my interactions with the manager. She’s very responsive, pleasant and communicates well! The previous management was pretty bad. They seem to do a lot of community events - which isn’t my thing, but I know others enjoy it.The noise level can get intense from above if there are children. When the large, stomping child upstairs isn’t home, the adult walking doesn’t really bother us at all. Additionally, we had what we referred to as a “time share” apartment across from us that had at least 10 different people living/going in and out of it - I believe they have since been kicked out and it’s MUCH quieter now! I’m curious to see what happens after the new security doors are activated as we are right beside them.. and the parking lot.For me, if the residents would pick up after themselves and be mindful of others, this place would be so so much better! The pros of Axis still outweigh the cons for us!
Lived there for 2 years, Recently moved. Very Nice apartment Complex. Kitchen fixtures are top notch with Coriander countertops and red wood cabinets.Management Personal is very nice and accommodating if you are able to communicate with them! Community Manager Kenn was Wonderful and very personable.Their biggest hurdle as a property is Generating Value for the price. Found a Modern home in the area for $400 less then what I was paying for a 12/mo lease on a Carriage unit.Another issue is with property security. They are taking steps to fix this but security has been a very real concern for a property that is advertising itself as a Private luxury living complex. The property should rly be Gated IMHO. But what can you do.TL;DR Very nice place to live, Rather Pricy given the property value and the ever increasing availability in the area. Good for those looking for a mid-long term 6-12 year lease and is actively looking in the area for a more permanent residence.
Clean, quiet and friendly with a professional office staff thats very thoughtful and caring of their tenants in this upscale apartment complex.
New management is trerrible!!!! My October rent was lost and they tried to force me to pay $4600 in two days. Not to mention that they waited one month later to notify me.Keep your proof of every payment...Also they really need a better screening process of the type of people that have recently moved in.5stars for the look of the appartments....PLEASE TALK TO THE NEIGHBORS BEFORE MOVING HERE!
This is a wonderful place to live, first class in every respect. Fast, courteous customer service!!
Visit India in the office, you wont be disappointed!!!
I’ve lived here for over a year now, and this post was a long time coming. Since the apartment complex changed from Alta ownership to Axis/Sherman residential the level of professionalism in the main office, the cleanliness, and amenities has completely gone down the drain.I have reached out numerous times to Megan the manager in the office in regards to an EXTREMELY EXTREMELY STRONG smell of weed that peeps in from my upstairs neighbors through the vent in my bathroom. I’ve also reached out to her in regards to loud bangings in the floor, as well as maintenance issue and she never responds !They’ve had orange mud everywhere which has caused an extreme mess for dog owners and apartment renters. They have not cleaned this in months! A ton of dirt and garbage are through the apartment halls . The grounds do not get groomed regularly. And they charge $25 if you leave your trash out to early, but if they for whatever reason can’t procide trash service on a normally provided day, they do not refund you a certain allotment of money. Somehow I think it should work both ways. They only allow you one visitor pass which makes no sense at all.I can’t stress enough how poor this places run.I would love for corporate to contact me so that we can have a dialouge about this, as I pay my rent every month, and have felt that I am not getting my money’s worth what’s so ever.Shannon Saiid
The residents here are loud and ungrateful - they had to close the clubhouse DURING THE SUMMER early because people do not know how to act. Went to walk through our apartment last night and nothing was done - the walls needed to be repainted and the apartment was dirty and NO ONE WALKED IT. Needless to say, we are currently in the clubhouse waiting for keys to move in this morning and Megan (who is the rudest/least helpful person alive) says she doesnt know where our keys are to move in, when theyre sitting on her desk. The new property management staff is super unfriendly. The maintenance manager came out to fix my AC unit, didn’t know what a NEST thermostat was, and then told me that if he didn’t bring me another air filter ‘today’ to not hold it against him. Rather than just actually bringing the air filter by.We are currently in the process of moving out of this place which has been a nightmare in itself. The management staff thinks that since the people above us are too loud that it makes more sense to let us break our lease rather than actually fix the problem. Getting our rent and fees prorated is horrific, as well. I absolutely would not recommend AXIS to anyone I knew.
Loved this community! Brand new and beautiful! Great addition to this growing & gorgeous area of Charlotte!
My experience has been good and bad. My fiancé and I went to look at the apartments and we absolutely loved the property. The features of the apartment are very nice and upscale. They told us that the second phase of the apartment wasnt finished and would contact us to let us know something. We never heard back. We kept checking online and called several times but no one could tell us any thing. So we decided to go back about a month later, in hopes that the phase would be finished and would have more information for us. This time was a very unpleasant. The ladies working there were all new from the first time and they pretty much didnt know anything. They were both very nice, especially Ashley, however you can tell the company is having problems. One lady that had helped me the first time came in to help the other ladies out was very unprofessional and didnt seem to care about what was going on. She was also supposedly the assistant manager. I asked Ashley, who showed us the apartment again, who was the manager and she said they didnt have one because the manager they had just quit the day before. Overall, the apartments are very nice. They still are not finished with construction so a lot of the apartments are not done and obviously no one knows when they will be ready.
Disclaimer: this review is solely based on my experience(s) and opinions. When I moved in on Jan 2017, I fell in love with this place. I also fell in love with my neighbors (who are ALL great and respectful...genuinely awesome people) it is now Nov 2017 and I am choosing to not renew my lease. Unfortunately, that decision was made many, many months ago.Lets start with the pros:x Proximity to 485, it is so easy to get to anywhere in Charlotte in 20 mins. I mean, you name it.. You can get there with easex Outlet mall is literally directly across from you.x They have their own dog park - which is a huge deal to mex They have a pretty great dog spa, car washing port and nice pool with cabanasx They occasionally host events for the residentsx No parking permit required and usually there is space for carsx My favorite thing: the many, many different apartment layouts you can choose from. Oh! And taking advantage of the walking trails built into the Berewick community next door. Now for the reasons I wont be renewing:x Meagan is one of the most disrespectful employees ever. She never says hi when I pass her in the halls and I had a stupid experience with her that I will never, ever forgetx Management is a lost cause. With the exception of Sonja and Thomas, it is run like total amateursx Ask them when they will get one of the computers fixed. When I asked about printer not working due to no ink, they told me I think you can try it in B&W... If not, if idk what??x They totally messed up the ledger on their end, wrote a nasty letter on everyones door that they had 24 hours to pay up or be evicted (None other than Meagans letter..)x Very minimal communication for many maintenance tickets I open. Actually, minimal communication all around. Many times I have had tickets closed and resolved but nothing was done and I was never explained anythingx Had to ask 3x for them to turn on the dog fountain during hot days. It still doesnt work efficiently so we all bought water bowels and still use them to this dayx Thank you residents for allowing your dog to poop in the dog park and being so damn lazy to grab a poop bag 2 ft away to clean it upx Literally no soundproofing floors. Only live here if you are going to be on the top most floor. Worst I have EVER experiencedx When I asked for the form to give them my 60 day notice, I was told to just email them. No reply back, no date set for a walk through. Nada.x They accept all walks of life here. I had to call a disturbance because I heard a older lady yell, I will F*** you up to a child. I also witnessed 2 women fist fighting in the hallway. Hallways reek of weed. Trash everywhere on the stairs. A residents friend was stealing cellphones from neighbors. Oh, recently 5 trucks were broken into.. Did management notify residents at all? Nope. Sure makes me feel safe and sound. I dont walk my dog at night anymorex They had a community meeting one time and a resident had to take notes for them because management was not prepared adequatelySo yeah... That sums it up. I had great hope for this place but they have let me down at every turn. Feel free to email me for pictures, videos and more detailed explanations if needed on my experiences listed above.
Great apartments, but the noise level here is crazy. My issue is with upstairs neighbors heavy stamping steps and dropping objects on the floor pretty much at all hours including late hours. I am pretty sure there are a multiple families living in that tiny 2-bedroom apartment. In addition, people here deliberately sound their car horn at 3AM [last happened 5 nights ago], and panic buttons go off quite often late at night which I guess could happen in other places as well. I am just writing this review and it will hopefully help someone else before they sign a lease and go through the moving process .. if you have infants who usually go to sleep early, or looking for a nice quiet evening when you get home, you may want to look else where, or rent the top floor. My lease is up in Oct and you can count on us moving and going somewhere decent. I already complained multiple times, but I dont think the management [who are nice folks in my opinion] can really help. Tenants here just dont care sadly.
Overall, I am happy with Alta Berewick. The apartments are/were brand new and have all the upgrades that are becoming the norm for apartments in Charlotte (granite countertops, track lighting, large kitchen). Apartments include with washer and dryer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, stove and refrigerator. The grounds, clubhouse, exercise/weightrooms, and pool area are very nice. There is a dog park with water fountains and a playground for (human) children. Harris Teeter is less than a mile away and restaurants are slowwwwwlllllyyyy coming to the area. Easy access to 485 and the airport. There is a courtesy officer who seems to take his job seriously. Very dog friendly. Always adequate parking - no assigned parking, no parking passes, no annoying visitor passes, no predatory tow trucks driving through the lot at night looking for cars with a tire touching a parking space line (glares menacingly at The Pointe Apartments on Tyvola Road). You can rent individual garages (which are huge) or storage spaces. The bedrooms are wired for ceiling fans, but do not include them.It is, however, an apartment and it has apartment issues: noise can be an issue (I swear the people upstairs have installed a bowling alley...), the staff do their best to keep everything running but things occasionally get missed, the clubhouse now closes very early because people let their kids hang out in there unsupervised resulting in property damage, people tend to hog the grills in the pool area, some people do not clean up after their dogs (was a huge problem late last year, but seems to be reduced since they installed dog waste disposal can/bags.)Ive lived in eight different apartments in the Charlotte area and this is probably my second favorite. From talking with other residents, though, I know I got a very good deal on the rent when I moved in and, if they raise my rent, I probably wont stay. They do force you to pay extra money each month for Valet Trash Removal, which I really dont need. I can carry my one bag of trash over to the dumpster by myself. The trash service is not 100% reliable, either. They seem to regularly miss individual floors or not come at all. As far as I can tell, recycling gets thrown in the dumpster with the rest of the trash (Please correct me if Im wrong...)To address some previous comments: Im not sure who the shady people wandering around at night are. Ive never seen a prostitute on the premises. The residents are not garbage. (Some of us are actually nice people.) The staff has never been rude to me.Package deliveries are made to the main office, not left at your door. It is a slight inconvenience, but, since the apartment hallways are open to the outside, it is a necessary one to minimize the chance for theft.Oh...and the outlets are *right there*.
