This is the first review I have ever written because my experience was that horrible. Worst “manicure” I have ever had in my life. My nails and cuticles were not cut, shaped, or filed. I paid $50 for a dip manicure and was left with pink dip all over my fingers that I had to try to get off when I got home. My nails were not even straight and chipped two days later with dip. I had an appointment and had to wait over a half hour after my appointment time. I am extremely frustrated I spent my money on this. I will never be going back and am looking for somewhere else in the area that has much better service.

I was looking for somewhere to go close to my house and discovered this place on line and it’s so convenient. The first thing I noticed at how clean and bright it is. The staff is friendly and very attentive to their customers. I had booked an appointment but they were a little overbooked but I had brought a book and started a back massage and read. It was actually a pleasure to wait and watch them work. I got an added service to my pedicure of the paraffin foot wrap and I highly recommend it. The leg massage was just the right amount and the pedicure was great as well. I will definitely be back for my next pedicure.

Nice experience. Very nice staff and super clean environment. I wish I got a longer leg massage cause it was great! My daughter and I got SNS dip and nail art for our vacation. So fun!

3.5 really. I got the jelly pedicure which overall seems pointless but the pedicure was decent. I also got the luxury manicure and that was also fine nothing to write home about but the finish work (i.e. the nail polish work) was not done well at all. I definitely could have done better myself -- and usually do. The place was clean and the staff was professional. I probably wouldnt return regularly but maybe because of how close it is to me I would use it out of convenience.

Worse job on nails ever. Clear polish wasn’t even applied correctly and 2 nails crack first day. I went back to get the nails repaired and sat for 30 minutes waiting. Another women walk in with a repair and someone from the back came out and she was helped immediately with no appointments. I will never go to this place again.

I walked in today to get my SNS dip removed from a previous nail salon visit at another location. I was on the fence about wanting to do it again and decided I wanted to go ahead and get it done again. From start to finish my entire time spent there was 3 1/2 hours. They were very busy and I understood that. There was only one woman who worked there (the rest were men) and I have never left a nail salon basically in tears and completely humiliated.I expressed to her that my nails were darker on one hand than the other, none of my nails were uniformally shaped and the rounded parts of my nails were uneven. For $50 this was very disheartening and frustrating. She tried to fix it and nicked me with her nail tool, one of many times it happened. At that point I was ready to take them off and just go home. I held her hands and told her I was sorry but I just wanted the dip removed and be done.She yelled at me saying they were perfect and yelled at other people to look at them (there was about 20 people there staring at me and her as she was losing it on me). She also said that she knew she didn’t want to work on me when she saw me come in. It became very unprofessional, humiliating and one of the absolute worst experiences in my life. I was nothing but kind and understanding and as polite as anyone could be. I did not deserve the behavior this woman displayed. They almost made me leave without helping me remove the nails which were partially shaved from them trying to force a redo on me. I am absolutely mortified at this point.They ultimately allowed me to get them removed and I ended up scraping the rest off by myself because my hands had sat in so much acetone for so long and the nicks were burning. I came home and cried because I’ve never been treated so terribly. I will never return. I hope that there is some remorse from the establishment after such a display of unprofessional behavior.Also, she clipped away a lot of my skin and hurt my a few times and now around my nails looks horrible.

They really charged me full price for this! I will not go back here EVER AGAIN! Very careless! I do not recommend!

I truly enjoyed my service today. Very first time and I will continue to return every 2 weeks. I really appreciate the outstanding service I received from Michael and Diana. What a great team.

Do not listen to the good reviews. I have been here 3 times trying to give them the benefit of the doubt because it is so close to my home, but this place has the worst professionalism. They have TERRIBLE customer service! No one comes to talk to you when you walk in and you will sit there for at least 45 minutes waiting for someone to come get you. After getting seated in the chair, I waited for another 30 minutes because the lady who was doing my nails was checking her phone. She did not take her time and left sns dip dry around m cuticle which are now pealing off and leaving the nail jagged. Ive also had a tech mess up a nail (there was a spot of sns powder missing in the center of the nail where she drilled down to hard and could see my actual nail) and continue as if it was finished and alright. After asking her to fix it she just painted a different color of regular paint on my nail. DO NOT GO HERE! Drive the extra 5 minutes to somewhere else!

I got SNS dip and a gel pedicure. They were packed with appointments and walk ins but were personally making sure each walk in had a time allotted to come back, and saw appointments first. Even with a full house, I only waited about 10 minutes after my appointment. My technician also did a great job and super quick

THE ABSOLUTE WORST I ASKED FOR SQUARE NAILS AND GOT CURVED NAILS AND MY GEL POLISH WASNT SMOOTH IT WAS LUMPY I ASKED HER IF SHE COULD CHANGE IT BECAUSE I DIDNT ASK FOR CURVED AND THEY DIDNT FIX IT THE OWNER SAID SHE COULD FIX IT AND DIDNT MY GEL POLISH WAS LUMPY NOT SMOOTH AT ALL I ASKED HER IF SHE COULD JUST TAKE IT OFF AND DO IT OVER SHE TOLD ME NO BECAUSE IT TAKES TO MUCH TIME AND SHE HAS OTHER CUSTOMERS BUT YET SHE WAS WALKING AROUND NOT DOING ANYTHING I ASKED IF SHE COULD TAKE IT OFF OR REFUND ME MY MONEY BUT SHE REFUSED BOTH AND THEN SHE LIED AND SAID SHE WOULD HAVE TO ASK HER MANANGER IF SHE COULD GIVE ME A REFUND BUT SHE WAS THE OWNER AND NOT TO MENTION SHE WANTED ME TO COME BACK NEXT WEEK TO GET THEM REDONE BUT I WOULDVE HAD TO PAY FOR IT I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS NAIL PLACE IF IT WAS THE ONLY NAIL PLACE ON THIS EARTH IF I COULD GIVE IT NO STARS I WOULD I WISH I TOOK PICTURES BUT IT WAS SO BAD I WENT SOMEWHERE ESLE AND GOT THEM TAKEN OFF IMMEDIATELY

I went to this shop at the request of someone else who gets their manis and pedis done there and it looked amazing. I made an appointment and I arrived early and had to wait. Not a huge deal. But it was a huge deal when people who came AFTER me that did NOT have appointments got their services done and leave. Someone started on my feet and stopped TWICE. Both times my service was interrupted, the person went to do services on someone else. My polish started separating after TWO days (I work from home, I didn’t wear shoes for 2 days and didn’t have to leave my house). I emailed the shop in response to their email to me about how my experience was and have not hear back from ANYONE in regards to my dissatisfaction (I went on 6/15/21, polish started separating on 6/17). I’ve seen their work and they do a great job on other customers. But I honestly cannot recommend them after my experience.

Came down for vacation, and they treated me real well. He definitely took his time with me! Will definitely be my nail place whenever I visit again!

This was my first and last visit to this place for sure! Went to get a manicure and pedicure here on Monday. They charged me $10 extra to do my cuticles! Is that not part of a manicure?! The dip is so thick and uneven! $119 later dip is coming off! Will never go back here!

My 1st visit to this salon, but definitely not my last; I will go back whenever I am in the Charleston area. Michael was patient and focused on his attention to detail, making sure that every nail was as perfect as possible. I received the best mani-pedi that I’d ever had. I was pleasantly surprised at the cost, thinking it would be significantly higher since he had worked on just my feet for over 1 1/2 hours. Michael never handed me a menu nor asked what type of pedicure I wanted, he just went work, assessing my trouble areas and fixing them. I highly recommend Nails So Dep - ask for Michael!

This is the closest location to my home and Ive been coming here for over a year. Id like to keep using the salon, however, its become more of an inconvenience than anything. There is always a long wait time even when an appointment is scheduled prior. Ive been turned away three times this week due to staffing and/or an hour long wait time. The service is great, just inconvenient. Im now looking into other salons in the area.

I just went to get a simple eyebrow wax at this place and I would rather have the unibrow I went in with than the eyebrows this place gave me. They were kind of busy and I did not specify that I like my eyebrows to be a little thicker but we are not in the 90s or early 2000’s anymore people. Thin eyebrows are not IT! The lady who took care of me was in a rush and it was obvious. She spent exactly 4 minutes waxing my eyebrows and did NOT even give me a mirror to look at them when she was done- clear indication she knew she did a bad job- then told me the price had gone up from 12$ to 14$. I am from California and I never paid over 10$ for an eyebrow wax. I tipped her 4$ and left. I got in my car and saw the damage that had been done and was mortified that I have to wear these eyebrows around for the next six weeks while mine grow back in. Like I stated above I had a unibrow going in so I have a LOT to work with. They are uneven, thin, and do not match. Will never be going here again and if you value your eyebrows I suggest you don’t either.

My mom is a loyal customer so when she suggested i go here i was all for it. Got there & it was so cute and chic inside so i expected the same experience. I waited 45-1hr in all to have my nails done & was charged 41.50 for a basic fill in with Gel polish.. this set was 35 i have. they did an amazing job but for the time waiting i should not have paid that at all & then i was charged 10 extra for special services he said it was my nail length, none of my nails were chipped or broken so i don’t see how my nail length effected my fill in & quite frankly because long nails are so in right now nail techs should know my nails were FAR from long... he told me he would take care of me next time i come in, frankly because of this experience there will not be a next time.

I had a full set of nails done with the dip powder and had an amazing experience. I love the color as well as how nice the lady who did my nails was. I’ll definitely be back!

Highly recommend! Helen was very professional and attentive and Micheal was very friendly and funny and made us feel welcome.My bf and I went there on our vacation (I talked him into his very first pedicure) and it was a great experience! We had mimosas and enjoyed the massage chairs and just chatted the whole time. We both felt very at ease and laughed and felt attended to the entire time. Plus they did a great job with my nails! I picked out a wonky color (teal with speckles) and they suggested a pretty base coat to make sure the color showed up well. It looked great!If youre in the area, definitely pay them a visit.You wont be disappointed. :) We called ahead of time and they were able to take us right away, but they got pretty busy shortly after we got there. Id recommend giving them a quick call or booking online.

I have been a longtime customer of a nearby competitor, but have recently been disappointed so I tried out Nails so Dep on Folly Rd. I found the salon to be very nice and clean. I got SNS nails and a classic pedicure. The staff is friendly, and my nails looks great. My only complaints would be that I dislike having my old nails removed by soaking in acetone, much prefer the chip clip method, and I felt the clean up was a bit sloppy. My fingers and cuticles are feeling stuck and dry. Im sure itll clean up with a few hand washings, but would rather not have to worry about it.

I have to say that I had the best ever pedicure and foot massage just now at Naiks So Dep. I have been up and down Folly Road frequenting every nail salon that has ever opened its doors the past 25 years and Nails So Dep has my heart. I come here about every 6 weeks. I am always amazed that my pedicures and manicures last so long. And they stay open at night!!!! Love this place and I hope they stay open forever.

The salon is well appointed. Helen was the best! As a senior, I have arthritis issues in both hands and feet and she is very gentle. A very relaxing visit. My new favorite place!

Just relocated to SC from TX and desperately needed a pedicure. On James Island visiting family and this was the first time to visit this salon. Received an excellent pedicure from Michael who is both professional and personable.. Have since settled in Summerville but I will be visiting this salon again. Definitely worth the distance!

I got a set of nails put on. The workers were extremely nice, but my nails not so much. They are very lumpy. They cut every single nail with the file while doing it. They are filed unevenly. Of course I’m too nice to really say anything during service, but if u wasn’t, I honestly wouldn’t have paid $65 for the nails because now I’m going to have to go get them taken off and get a new set put on.

I went to Nails So Dep Folly as a treat for myself after a LONG work week.The Pros: my eyebrows look great. The waxing services are on point and I was pleased to be offered a diet coke when I came in. The atmosphere in the spa was extremely pleasant and COVID protocols were in place. Prices are more than fair, I spent $77 on a mani, pedi, eyebrow and lip wax.The cons: The whole experience was a little uncomfortable. I have a latex allergy and ran out of spare nitrile gloves in my car without realizing. I asked that she complete my mani and pedi without gloves and she said she couldnt do it, even though multiple other clients were being treated without gloves. Luckily another technician had spare glove she could use. The young lady doing my nails stayed on her personal phone the entire time and didnt attempt to have a conversation with me until almost the end of my treatment. What little she did talk to me, was to complain about how busy she had been. I felt awkward. Just some constructive criticism: I cant help having and allergy (and yes, I could have brought gloves of my own)  but you can help how you provide accommodations to and your attitude toward clients. The rudeness and refusal to touch me without her latex gloves made me feel very insignificant and honestly kind of dirty.All in all I enjoyed myself minus the awkwardness. If/when I go back i will definitely be asking for Michael. He didnt do my services, but I watched his interactions with other clients and he was BEYOND professional and accommodating. I feel certain had I waited for him today my experience would have ended differently.Edit:Took another star away because its now day 2 after my manicure and my nails are super chipped. All I did yesterday was wash my hands and make dinner. So there is no reason for the polish to be chipping already. =(

I live on Folly Road and have tried almost all the nail salons and this is my favorite! This nail salon is amazing. It is so nice on the inside and the people there are so nice. My nails look as if acrylic ones were put on. I have always struggled with brittle nails and my nails breaking off. This is the longest my real nails have ever been! Yes, that is just dip powder on my nails! 10/10 recommend.

I just moved here from Virginia and I’ve been looking for a nail salon. (I’m really picky about my nails)I got a basic gel mani and a basic gel pedi, my total was $90 and it only took an hour because one person did my hands while the other one did my toes.The shaping came out perfect, the polishing job was great, and the massage was the best part.They were very friendly and talkative, and genuinely care about how you’re feeling during the services. 10/10 will be back in 2 weeks to get them done again.

Disappointed in the service here...my sister and I called ahead and were told to come at a specific time. We arrived at that time and were still asked to wait 30 minutes. Both of our nails were rushed and ended up looking so thick and there is SNS covering my cuticles...they wanted to leave and our nails reflect that. Won’t be going back here for the service and the price :/ Wish I had a good experience because I was referred by multiple people!

Absolutely loved our first experience with Nails So Dep-Folly! My mother traveled down from the upstate to celebrate my daughter’s 10th birthday with us so we decided to try a new place in the area to get 3 generations with pedicures before going to paint the Folly Boat. The staff were so nice and accommodating and they have found new standing customers.

I really liked this place when they first opened. I won a raffle for a free pedicure in May, which they said was good for a YEAR. I also called and they said you could do a walk-in for the free pedicure.However, the new owner (as of November) does not honor these raffles. I found this out after taking the bus all the way from downtown to the salon and they said they stopped doing the raffle and couldnt offer anything else for my time and I, as a college student, only had enough money to leave a good tip, so I had to leave with nothing and wait for the next bus. They also said they would have the owner contact me to see what they can do, but a month later I havent heard anything from the owner.

They did an awesome job on my nails!!! Came in on the right day. They had 20% off ALL SERVICES! They have awesome customer service and the pedicure was amazing. I like that fact that they actually DID my feet. Full effort. No half stepping at all. They weren’t “scared” to do my feet. They got in deep into my cuticles. I felt pressure but to me that means they’re doing a good job! My feet needed that 😊

Have been here three times as its far closer to my house than my salon of choice. The first time was fantastic - had two lovely ladies working on my dip manicure. The second time I came in I left disappointed with the tech - the dip was on far too thick and after I was in natural light it appeared uneven... not to mention it took forever! Decided to give them a third visit yesterday and had the same tech as the second time. Much better job on the dip however some of my nail shapes are uneven and it took 2 hours for a pedicure and dip exchange. I hope to continue to be a customer but think I may need to request a different tech. Extra star for the excellent wine selection!

Vast polish color selection and great pedicure

The actual salon itself was beautiful & the employees were friendly, but it was the worst pedicure Ive ever had. There was no powder or beads added to the pedicure bowl to soften or moisturize my feet. While pushing back my cuticles, no gel or anything nourishing was applied. There was only a 15 sec scrub with a pumice stone, and not an actual Microplane rasp to remove dead skin from my tired feet. I also got my hands touched up, eventhough the manicurist was nice, i was left with a few cuts on my fingers. Good place to go if you want fast service, but considering what i paid for the service i got, it wasnt worth it.
