I first came in a few months ago on the advice of a friend. I like my hair short and get it cut every few weeks and am really happy with the barbers here. I have had three different people cut my hair. Each has their own technique, but the end results have always been great. Its obvious they all come with experience. The shop is clean, cool old chairs, good music, and they have an awesome Oscar fish in the tank. Great fun atmosphere, for a good price. I highly recommend you check out S & G Classic!

Ive always liked this shop, great haircuts. The new additions to the staff have taken it to a whole new level. Ive had my hair cut by both Brynn and Richard. In both cases my fade was even and tight, and Brynn trimmed by beard to perfection with a straight razor edge-up. The shop has a nice vibe. Its much cleaner than before and the conversations are more appropriate for a business. Some of the older crew were amusing, but at times cringe worthy in their attempts at humor. I highly recommend you check them out. Keep up the great work guys!

Best barbershop I have found in Boulder! The price is reasonable, $22.00 plus tip. You can tell the barbers are experienced, they take their time, no rush obs here, and its obvious they have pride in their work. Ive been coming once a month since November of last year and have never been disappointed in any of my cuts, all the barbers are good. I highly recommend you try them out.

Excellent! My boys have been seeing Joe since they were in middle school. Both are in high school now, wear their hair short and are very particular about their fades. They have always been happy with their cuts. My oldest son went to Brinn for the first time last week and couldnt have been happier. These folks are talented and friendly.

I’ve been coming to this barber for over three years. I’ve gone to a couple others when I was in a pinch to get one and have regretted it every time. I live in Denver and drive the 30 minutes because of the quality of cut I get and the awesome atmosphere. They are super relaxed and makes you feel like you’re in a legit old school barbershop.

As a black student new to Boulder I was wondering where I could get a good fade and razor edge up. I thought Id have to drive to Denver. That is until I found S & G Classic. Everyone there is a barber, straight up. They hooked me up and Im looking good, actually did a better job than my regular guy back in Tampa. Sorry Earl. Good people and a good vibe in there. Ill be back.

This is a true barbershop in every sense of the word. Ive been to many places that call themselves barbershops but only have one or two people who can do a straight razor shave, the mark of a true barber in my book. Ive gone to S & G Classic three times now for a cut and shave, and each time Ive had a different barber all capable of a great cut and a close, relaxing shave. Good barbers, good prices.

Solid shop with good barbers. Joe always gives me a great haircut no matter the style that I want. Really laid back and relaxed. Not always the quickest but well worth the wait and makes for a total experience.

I moved here from Chicago and was hesitant to get a fresh cut. Ive been told its tough to find a shop on the Hill in Boulder that does well with black hair. S & G to the rescue! Rich is the man, he tightened me up and knew just what he was doing. Id give ten stars if I could. two thumbs up!

Just had my first ever haircut here and it was a great experience. They take their time and the final product looked great! You can tell they go for quality over simply getting people in and out as fast as possible.

Ive never had a straight razor shave so I tried one here today. It was great. Its pretty obvious they do a lot in here. My barber took his time and used a lot of steamy towels. The razor just glided across my face no nicks or any trace of razor burn. My face has never been smoother. The whole experience was very relaxing. A+++

Used to really enjoy coming here. However unfortunately the store is now overwhelmingly understaffed. I tried to wait during my lunch break as well as after work today, amassing a total of 1.75 hours waiting. Ultimately waited for nothing. Youll get a good haircut, but I wont be coming here anymore after today. Fwiw I always tipped fat, and treated my barbers with respect, however the wait has destroyed my morale.

Walked in and within 2 minutes I heard multiple slurs and racist comments. I can accept jokes and sarcastic comments but what they were saying wasn’t funny. It was downright racist, hurtful, and just completely unprofessional. Glad I was able to walk out before I gave this place any money

Austin is THE man. Been going to him for a while and he never disappoints very laid back atmosphere, all barbers here are skilled and very personable. Highly recommended for any style, and highest quality cut. Forget those overrated places such as floyd 99, freddys, roosters.... They treat their employees like a number and do the same with their customers. Local is the best and know that your barber is treated right, and that you will be treated right too!

Unfortunately, I must confirm what Kyle Byron said in his review about this place being full of language and vibes that are uncomfortable at best, and actively harmful / toxic at worst. I recently walked in and was shortly seated, but the person who cut my hair was engaged in a prior discussion with a barber and his client. They were discussing women, but rather crudely. While my barber asked how I wanted my hair cut, it seemed his attention was still solidly on the prior conversation. At times I would interject my (unsolicited) thoughts, mentioning sexism, racism, and classism that were being reflected in how they were discussing women. I was hoping to get some acknowledgement of the conversation / the biases being shown on their part. But sadly my thoughts were mostly shrugged off, while they kept doing their thing.Im a guy, and I get that there needs to be spaces where men can say whats on their minds. I think barbershops are one of the few places where that can happen organically. BUT, that doesnt give men who work there (or hell, even customers) the right to say whatever they want without consequence. This isnt the 1950s anymore, and Boulder isnt exactly the army barracks.Needless to say, I wont be coming back. Instead I will take my business to places where Ive had better vibes: Northside Barbers (when I want to pay in cash) or Brooklyn Barber Academy (when I want to splurge). Notice to the owner - youve got an issue here. I hope you take the steps necessary to really work through it.

Hell ya! I finally found a place in Boulder that can cut my hair. Ive been driving to Denver after having too many uneven cuts, bad fades and even worse razor edge ups. Ive been here twice, both times the guys nailed it. Great to finally find a place in Boulder where the guys actually went to barber school and leaned how to cut black hair. Saving money on gas and my fade. Around $20 and a little more for the razor work but worth it.

Ive been frequenting S & G since moving to CO. I live in Longmont currently, but work in Boulder so its close. I prefer to go in the morning when they first open. I have yet to get a bad haircut from the team hear.

Its where I go. Austin is my man. He does it right for me. Always. These guys come highly recommended.

Big dude with the hat on. More concerned with conversation and his phone than a customer. Asked for a low fade and just a little off the top. Got a high and tight ceaser. Even rushed it and didnt finish the edge up properly.Unless you looking for the ROTC Cut dont waste your money

Laid back barbershop guys can cut hair of all ages and styles.

There were two guys cutting hair when I entered. They were very friendly, and I was third on the queue. They made me wait for 1 hr 15 minutes and finally said they need to go some where and told me to return back after 45 minutes. This is the most unprofessional service I have encountered.

These Guys and Lady have talent, they can cut. And the prices are good, conversation funny, music cosmic heavy metal when i was there. Including myself i saw 6 other guys walk out with tight clean cuts and fades done by all of the 3 barbers there. I was watching all 3 work, and i will let all 3 cut my hair. I trust all their skill. No cut was less than 45 minutes including mine which was just a fade on the sides, nothing off the top. 45 minutes on a fade, thats professional IMO. These guys take their time to do the job slow and right. If you want the wham bam thank you mamme, in and out 15-20 minute garbage cut this is not your place, this isnt fn floyds with cosmotology cuts. Dont be fooled when you walk in. You will get exactly what you come in for. You will be smiling when you inspect your head in the mirror.

They really do take care of you.
