New to Colorado, been looking for a good barber to use. Saw Northside while driving around, made an appointment. Got my haircut and beard trimmed with Isaiah, his attention to detail was top notch. That was easily the most detailed oriented haircut Ive ever gotten. He asked necessary questions to make sure I got what I wanted. I left him a 20% tip but it definitely wasnt enough. All the guys in there were pretty cool. Great vibes from the whole shop. I will easily be back. Thank you guys!

I took my teenage son to Northside Barbers for his first barbershop haircut (he was over the substandard at home haircuts, poor kid). It was easy to make an appointment online and we chose Isaiah Hernandez. Isaiah did a fantastic job and gave my son exactly what he wanted. We loved the laid back, relaxed, friendly atmosphere, the reasonable price, and the way Isaiah took his time to get the cut right, often checking in with my son to make sure it was the way he wanted it. Will definitely return.

Isaiah was an awesome barber, not rushed, he took time inspecting my hair and even went past the allotted time to ensure my haircut met my satisfaction, and while i usually tend to dislike my haircuts immediately after, this one i did not! he kept my hair fashioned how i like it while cleaning it up as i instructed and my expectations were met and exceeded. i originally went here for the low prices as i am a broke college student, and i have never written a review before but i felt inclined to share my experience as not only are their haircuts well executed but the staff was also friendly and respectful. will be returning again

I hadnt cut my hair in 5 years. Now I look like Cillian Murphy. Sherman is a wizard, made a perfect freehand cut. Highly recommend this barber shop.

These guys are the best. Its almost impossible to find a good value for any product or service in Boulder, CO, yet this establishment is one of those diamonds in the rough. The guys are super friendly (Charlies my go-to, Sherman is also really cool and dialed in my cut nicely). Why get ripped off with some $50 haircut, when these guys do a BETTER JOB for half that price? Its a no brainer - check em out!

Northside Barbers is my go to for haircuts in Boulder. Josh, Charlie, and Sherman have been around awhile and are always very welcoming. John and Isaiah are also super friendly. I’ve been seeing Dave for years and he’s the man. He knows exactly the cut I want and always takes his time to make sure he gets it right. He also is the only one that works on Sundays which is great for me as I can’t make weekdays. Booking an appointment on the website is extremely easy and seamless. I highly recommend Northside Barbers and as long as I live in Boulder I will continue to see Dave.

Ive been going to this place for about 4 years now -- other barbers cant compare. The staff has been incredibly friendly and kind, talented, and Ive always felt welcome and comfortable. For a place thats just a bit more expensive than the chains, Ive always received a great cut.If you are new, Id highly recommend Isaiah. Hes an excellent barber, and a great guy.

Isaiah is very professional and friendly and spends the extra time and effort to give dope fades. The other staff were very friendly as well, and the dog Ned who was in attendance cheered up the whole atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this establishment.

Dave is excellent. I go in for a beard trim every couple months or so and he is always on point, casual and professional. His cuts get better every time, showing he pays careful attention to his repeat customers and has an eye for personalized style depending on the growth of the hair. It’s a fine shop too, very clean and comfortable. 5 stars and a terrific value.

Isaiah is the best barber I have ever gone too. He takes his time on my hair, and always makes it look great even though I don’t have the thickest hair around. Where Supercuts or great clips would cut it in 10 minutes and I’d be done with a sub par cut, Isaiah takes 30-45 minutes and makes it look fantastic for only a few bucks more. He is the only barber I have ever gone back to and made appointments with since he does such a great job. Thanks Isaiah!

Love this barbershop! Was in town for work and needed a haircut before my boss came into town. Decided to give this place a shot due to their high reviews. Their online booking system had a great user interface and was very easy to use. I love the old timey feel with all of the sports memorabilia around the shop. Reminds me very much of the barbershop I used to go to growing up as a kid. The barber, David, provided good conversation throughout the cut and even shaved up my neckline at the end of the appointment. Highly recommend!

I went to Northside after having long hair for close to 15 years. Isaiah was my barber and he did an amazing job. He made sure I got what I wanted and never did anything without asking. I highly recommend him and this shop. It’s clean, established, open and has the best service and professionals. 10/5 Stars!!!

I went in here for the second time in awhile since the rona happened but man was I satisfied yet again. I went in this time and had Isaiah but wow he gave me one the of cleanest fade Ive ever had. He really put in his effort and time to give you the cut you want and youll walk out happy. Ill be coming here from now on, best in Boulder!

The barbershop had a very casual and chill vibe to it but my haircut was NOT done very well and I had to wait 50 minutes past my reservation time. Whats the point in reservations then? And I had to do the final touchups at home bc the barber only trimmed one sideburn but not the other, and did not cut a fade, rather just an even trim on the side which was not what I asked for. Overall the place had potential but I probably wont be going again

This is the best barber shop ive ever been to!! Isaih is my regular barber and he does my hair perfect and the fact that they straight razor your sides is the best!! I recommend this to anyone and evryone

This Old School Barbershop is a Boulder Icon. Its been in the same location for over 60 years and been serving 4 generations. Josh took over from his Grandpa Dave a few years back and is continuing the fine family tradition. The Shop now takes credit cards. Josh is my go to guy but all the Barbers are great! Every time I go in they all treat me as if I were family! The reason Josh has been so successful in carrying on the tradition is because he treats his Barbers like family They all love working for him and it shows in every cut they do for their clientele because its all about Family at Northside!!!!

Barber Jon had his mask below his nose and mouth and his client just wasn’t wearing a mask. Not going to risk getting Covid when there’s plenty of other professional barbers in town.

Walked in needing a clean up, and not knowing about the appointment only booking now, but they were very friendly and accommodating and got me right in. Charlie was great, and gave a great haircut. Was good talking with him, and although I’m just in town a few times a year I will make sure to come back here for a cut.

I just got my haircut here today for the first time i got a high skin fade my barber was isaiah all I can say my fade come out crispy and clean one of the best fades I ever got. I really love this place. Nice, traditional setup with friendly barbers and a warm social atmosphere. Some folks have a preference for a particular barber but I just go to whoever is free -- Ive never had a sub-par haircut. If you want a layered look or a hipster cut, you should maybe consider going elsewhere. If you want a three on the sides, and I part it about right here cut, this is definitely your shop. In spite of the fact that it is family-owned and a longstanding institution, it feels quite out of place in Boulder, but in a really wonderful way.

Overall staff needs work... Dave is great! Place is great. Staff besides Dave is mediocre at best. Something needs to happen with the old lady in the front. I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but unfortunately my last cut was horrible. The “fade” isn’t faded. It’s a clear cut difference between the lengths... She also missed 3 spots which I later fixed myself. Was the same length it was before, RIGHT ON THE TOP OF MY HEAD. She began cutting and is halfway done. I asked “that is this length, right?” And she says “oh. I didn’t know how you wanted that done so I did it this way”. If you don’t know how the customer wants it done, ASK. Don’t start cutting and do something completely different than what they wanted!My first “horrible” experience, but others haven’t been so great either.Does anyone have a good barber shop that does an all-around GREAT job in Boulder?!?

Absolutely one of the best barber shops I have ever visited. Fast service and reasonable prices. Barbers are happy to have a nice conversation or let you be. I would highly recommend Northside.

Cut was exceptional. Only one person worked the morning which is not bad, but if you had customers come and only one person working, the search for another place would mean this place would lose money. Had a dog inside hanging out, nice touch (no sarcasm).

Best experience out of any barbershop thus far. All the barbers here are extremely friendly and do wonderful work. If you are looking for a sharp and professional haircut from barbers who have a sense of how to shape your hair to look good on your head, but also the discipline to follow your instructions.. This is the place to go. My personal choice is Brian, as I appreciate his conversation and demeanor (and especially skill!). I have received haircuts from multiple barbers there and they are all brilliant. Go here!P.S. Affordable! Tip these guys, they charge nothing for what you get. True Quality haircut under $20. I value their time and skill higher than this.

Ive been going to Northside for three years. Before this, I went to a small barber in Denver. I searched around Boulder for a while for a small barber shop feel. After some trial and error, I found Northside and was super impressed with them. Three years and about 12 haircuts from all the different barbers there (Katie, Josh, Sherman, Charlie) and I always walk out happy. One thing to note--this place is cash only. It doesnt seem to deter people since there are usually quite a few people waiting on a normal business day. Although it would be nice to pay with card, that does not warrant any other rating besides 5/5, hands down.

No-frills barber shop. Charlie is the absolute man. Genuine soul, conversational, listens to what you want, and cuts it to match. Remembers your name and style each time you return. All I do is call to make sure hes in that day and go and take a seat!

Ive been going here for about three years now. Great environment, great haircut, great price. I usually go with Brian, but everyone at Northside delivers an excellent haircut. Highly recommend. Ive watched them grow over the last few years, and its a testament to the service they deliver.

Maybe I’m just retarded and don’t know how to ask for a cut but if I say 1 inch off the top, does that mean leave my hair 1 inch short?? I also asked for a low taper fade and it came out super uneven and crooked with one side higher than the other and rivets in the taper as if they didn’t even try, I was tearing up out of pure frustration, I just wanted it to end. I just moved here and had been procrastinating getting a hair cut out of fear of this happening but I guess my fears were justified.

Great if you wait for your barber, reliable stylish cuts, just dont feel pressured into an open seat. For some of them it takes a couple of haircuts to really nail down specifics and sometimes they are too quick to clip and dont ask questions if they dont understand.

Reminds me of my Barbershop back home in New York. These guys have more experience than any of those other expensive hipster barbers in Boulder. Great cut and it being cheaper than other places in Boulder leaves plenty of room to tip and feel like a baller.
