After telling multiple others about my experience, I’m re-sharing a more succinct review because others should know what they’re getting into! Have since blocked Evon so she can’t text and call me again. In summary:- Rude- 1 hour late- Hair looks great but not what I wanted- Insisted I did not want my hair as requested- Told me she wished she could change my face and maybe it would look better- Very pushy about adding products to your bill- Shamed me for not providing a bigger tip even though it was 20% (20% of my haircut, color and products total) and I was dissatisfied- Harassed me for a couple days telling me to change my review and still would not give me the tint I requested though I believe it was part of the bill because price stayed the same as quoted- Never going backOtherwise, clean, lots of conversation, good organic products, and despite everything, a good haircut and even color.

My second perm with Evon, and it’s the best perm I’ve gotten and I’ve been getting perms for over 6 years. She teaches you how to make it last longer and how to take care of it. And products are really great!! Highly recommend!

I can see how people would like her but I found the whole experience to be unprofessional and not valuable. I wasn’t listened to as far as what styling I wanted. She used a blow dryer and flat iron on my dead hair even after I insisted her not to because it’s already fried as is. I think she knew she messed up so she was trying to overcompensate with the heat tools. My hair came out looking and feeling the same as when I showed up. She made several unprofessional comments including politics and pressure with the tip which was kind of weird. Just things you shouldn’t be doing as a business owner, especially. Also found it kind of phony that this is advertised as an organic and natural salon, yet the stylist doesn’t understand the importance of veganism/being plant based

I suffer from chronic dermatitis, eczema and linalool and fragrant allergies which prevents me from using ‘store and salon bought products’ ... I took the plunge as I couldn’t look at my gray roots for another day ... and booked an appt for a totally ‘organic and natural’ hairdresser who used an organic coloring system ... I was super happy with the end result and the quality of the products (which are European)... and my skin has tolerated all the products well to date - they all had very green and clean ingredient decks ... I read some of the ‘not-so-complimentary’ reviews of Evons unorthodox methods and customer service skills before making this booking ... and yes ... Evon is definitely not your NewYork Salon stylist ... or high-street trained hairdresser (Ive been to many) ... but she is unique ... and often quite abrupt ... and she can talk the legs off a table! But hey, none of that really bothered me ... I went in there with a clear expectation and my expectation was met ... I will return to the salon!!

I have straight long hair and never do anything with it so I wanted something different, I decided on a perm. I was nervous about the experience and if it would come out nice but I was very pleased. I chose this place because it is an organic salon, and since I dont do much with my hair I wanted to make sure that I use the best and most natural products.Before appt:: Setting up an appointment with Evon was easy, she explained everything to me and sent me a reminder the day before. You have to wear your mask and you get your temperature taken right before to ensure safety.Hair stylist:: Evon is a very outgoing, friendly and caring woman, this salon experience is not like going to a regular salon. It is very one on one, so if you think you are closing your eyes while she does all the work... think again. Evon has a lot of professional experience from all over the world and she gave me some reading to do about hair care and perms while she was setting up my hair. She has a great energy and is open to talk about anything.The process:: The whole process took almost 5 hours, so be prepared for that. Evon is very thorough, we spoke before hand to go over exactly what I wanted. She washed my hair and gave me a little trim and started. Everything was great, there was some issues with the hair product soaking into my mask so watch out for your mask, luckily I had an extra. Since there is a lot of rinsing and washing, make sure to wear a shirt that you dont care about, mine got wet a few times. Overall the experience was great and if you need product for your new curls Evon has so many different natural, organic and even vegan products.Price:: Evon gave me a great price for my perm especially since my hair was long. Just to note, perms start at around $140 and go up depending on your hair type and hair length.I used a Vanessa Hudgens reference and I think she got it!

This was the best haircut experience Ive received in Boulder. First, I LOVE my new haircut. I brought in a picture of what I wanted and it turned out better than the picture because she tailored the look to my face. Second, I normally hate chit chat during my hair cuts, but I felt so at ease that conversation came naturally and was fun, too! I felt pampered and heard throughout. She made sure to check in with me during the progress of the cut, letting me know what she was doing and asking if I liked it. Highly recommend!

Horribly unprofessional and rude. She wont even disclose the names of the products she uses. As a new customer, calling to inquire about the names of the products she uses, she got angry and told me to go to her website. I kindly told her that I did and the website doesnt list the actual names of the products she uses. She continued to be hostile and repeatedly said to go to her website because she doesnt answer any questions over the phone. What the heck? VERY SUSPICIOUS. A customer deserves to know the names of the products used for coloring, shampooing, conditioning, etc. I wouldnt trust this salon whatsoever. Plus, her horrible attitude and non-existent customer service is appalling.

I have finally found my salon! It is hard to find a salon in which does not use harsh chemicals. The owner had great advice and was very helpful with deciding what to do to change my look. I usually do not write reviews, but I honestly felt that I needed to publish on google to help others decide on a salon. Google is a honest and real place to make reviews for local businesses and my experience has shown me that the reviews are truthful/real on google. I always trust the reviews I read on google.

I went to this salon based on the overwhelmingly positive Google reviews. The space was not what I expected from the photos and there seemed some confusion about my appointment (no one was there when I arrived) but she was very apologetic about the mix-up and it seems had only recently moved hence old photos of the space. The colour I got was great, and the cut was decent. It is worth noting however that I was offered a major discount on future haircuts for a positive Google review so bear this in mind if choosing based on the reviews here

I was very happy with the service and cut I received here. The owner/stylist was very patient and took time to understand what I wanted (I have short hair and Im very picky) and the dry cut allowed me to see how it would actually look and ask for adjustments along the way. She showed me a lot of techniques for styling it, and was fun to talk to the whole time. The price seemed very reasonable for the cut and amount of time she gave me. Absolutely will go back!

My new salon in Boulder, it took me about a year but i finally found someone who can color my hair correctly. She first corrected the color I had before, then added in a better color for me. My hair looks great and looks natural. I highly recommend.So Ive now been to this salon 3 times and each time my color comes out great. I wish I could write more reviews or give more stars, its so hard to find someone who can make highlights look natural. Plus she keeps a record of my color so theres never any guessing when I come back. I highly recommend.

I have been going here for my haircut and color for several years. The owner always been doing a great job with my hair, which is curly and not easy to deal with. Ive been to fancier salons, and my hair looked great the first day, but after washing I never managed to style it the same way. Her haircuts allow me to keep my hair looking well for weeks and occasionally months. Im also happy with the no-ammonia color she uses. Shes fun to chat with, too.

They incentivize their customers to write Google reviews for a huge discount on all services, hence the high rating. The owner was extremely rude, charged me extra money for a blow dry, without mentioning that at her salon that somehow costs extra, and pressured me to tip at least 25%. She sat there and tried to get me to write a review in front of her for a steep discount, and I politely declined.Check Yelp for a more accurate representation of this business, and scroll to the bottom of the page to read the “not recommended” reviews. They are all 1 Star. The owner responds to bad reviews by claiming the reviewer must have something wrong with them, rather than taking an ounce of accountability for more than 50 bad experiences. I wonder who the common denominator is here....

I came in to get a cut and was debating all-over color. The owner was running a special for the holiday season and was able to fit in a color for me even though I hadnt scheduled for that. She gave me great advice on the style and I love my new cut! Also, the color is fabulous--and the organic products didnt give me a headache and smelled very nice. I cant wait to come back.

I havent had my hair done in over a year and decided to take the plunge because of the natural/organic draw. I got highlights and a cut and am very pleased with the results. My stylist was knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. It was great having highlights without that horrible bleach smell and feeling like my scalp was going to fry under the heat! I had a great experience at Boulder Natural Organic Hair Salon. I was looking for a natural Perm for my 13 year old daughter. Boulder being a natural and organic epicenter you would think there would be many salons offering this. Well there is only one I could find in my extensive search. My Stylist was very knowledgeable and provided a fantastic perm that my daughter is very pleased with. No harsh chemicals and almost no oder after perm was complete. The stylist educated us on hair care and how to style curly hair. We are very happy with the result.

I dont get the one star reviews here, not only was this place first rate in my view, but this is a business that offers organic products (the only place in Boulder I know of that does so) and recycles cut hair. This place is an experience. The woman who owns it is very nice and extremely talkative. Be prepared to have a conversation while you are getting your hair cut, and allow time for that. This is not a 15 minute clipper cut kind of place and she takes as long as she needs to get it right. The result, of course, is that she does a great job! Ive been to a few places in Boulder and she is the only person who gives me a good haircut every time. And we usually have a solid 40 minute conversation as well. Its great!

Owner and stylist is very nice, but she will tell you like it is. Dont go to this salon if you are looking for someone to give you the answer you want regardless of whether its the truth. She will set you straight and is a good conversationalist. I love the hair recycling program. She is great with nice simple cuts, but does charge extra for styling the hair (which she will warn you about up front). She does a styling cut (where the hair is dried and then cut). Extra charges for flat iron or curling. At any rate, I enjoyed the company and the cut was nice. I also love the organic natural products. As for the color, now that I am home I dont feel that I notice a dramatic difference in the highlights. We will have to see how things play out over the next few days.

Evon was extremely knowledgeable in all things hair related. Watched her finish highlights and a haircut on another woman and she came out gorgeous. She did a loose perm and cut on me and it all came out perfect. Much fun to talk with and hang out with. Super friendly and warm. No complaints whatsoever. Highly recommended! This was the most horrible experience Ive had at a salon! Save your time and money and dont go. The owner is rude and will consistently lie about what shes said. My 12:00 appointment was changed to 12:45 without any warning. Also, she decided to highlight my hair without showing me the color. Then when I said I cant make a decision without seeing what she was selecting, she finally showed me a magazine clip. The color did not match what Ive had and I said she need to find something more suitable. Her response: Its just hair, there is no such thing as perfect. Its close enough and you should be happy with that. I COULDNT BELIEVE IT. Finally I said I would just get a haircut only. Her response: WHATEVER. She was so rude that Ive finally left the salon and she gave me an immense amount of attitude the whole 15 minutes I was there.

Came into the salon for a haircut and had a fantastic experience so I came back in a few weeks later for an all-over hair color and I absolutely love it! She helped me go from blonde highlights to brunette all over and she put in a great color correcting treatment beforehand, and it came out great. I love how my hair came out! Boulder Natural Organic Hair Salon really listens to what you want and the atmosphere is very friendly and inviting. If you care for your health I recommend you come here!

I came because I saw the organic sign. The menu options were explained fully and all products are truly certified organic. I requested a haircut for a wedding and she gave me a new uplifting style. that I Love. I highly recommend Organic Natural Hair Studio.

The salon is relaxing making it a treat to get your hair done. From the moment I walked in the door, I experienced professionalism and pampered. Norka did an amazing job with my hair and did not waste a moment of my time. I will definitely go again and highly recommend this salon. Normally I hate going to get my hair done (and it showed) it took way too much time and all I ever ended up with was a so so job and 2 hours out of my busy schedule. Now I have found a salon that gets it - I will go more often. I only write reviews when a company provides more than what is expected. ALSO - the products are AMAZING!
