I have lived at the Diplomat in West Campus for 3 years and I very much enjoyed my time there. The management was always very responsive and maintenance was too. The apartments themselves are well taken care of and for West Campus you get such a great deal on such a charming apartment. The only issue I had was that amenities were a little out dated but management said they would be renovating the complex over the summer so that issue is solved! Also its very quiet even though we face a main street! Given the circumstances of the last year I also want to mention that management was very accommodating to my financial situation. Overall, this complex and management are truly gems in West Campus. If I hadnt put off releasing I would be living here again. :)
Quick to respond to messages, for sure! But, I emailed about a noise complaint (nothing wrong with the grounds crew doing their jobs and noise form work in general, but nights owl workers need day sleep, correct!) and I didnt really feel the sincerity in the offices apology, nor did the office folks make any suggestions to make up for the complaint/that a resident felt upset. And when I made a gentle suggestion to Please message thread the residents ahead before any crew work comes (so we can plan around the noise/activity etc.),I got a more unhelpful, Yes we usually do that and that was it.
Decent price. No major concerns. Responsive management and convenient location at the Rio Grande site.
Lived at Hyde Park Court when I was senior at UT. Cozy property with responsive maintenance. I found The Westside Group to be a very ethical company. The only things I regret are 1) Having to leave early b/c of the pandemic and 2) Not living at Hyde Park my junior year.
I moved out of my apartment on Rio Grande a few months ago, but am currently dealing with a nightmare landlord and was just reminiscing about the time I spent in an apartment managed by the Westside Group. They are far and beyond the best management company I’ve ever worked with - kind, respectful, honest, responsive. It was my first time living in an apartment where I did not feel like I had to constantly protect myself from being screwed by the management. Communication was A++, prices were fair, maintenance issues were always handled within 24 hrs, and they went above and beyond on multiple occasions to help me with issues that they had no obligation to deal with. Finally, they gave me back my deposit in full, which many landlords jump through hoops to avoid doing. I just think they’re so great and hope others can experience the same!
There once was an apartment in Hyde ParkThat I rented online from a property sharkIt was quite cheapA wee place to sleepAnd many a tale did it sparkThere are many reasons why this place is so cheapIf we all got poisoned you wouldn’t hear a peepWe lacked a protectorNo carbon monoxide detectorSo we all could have died in our sleepIn the Texas heat we were not placatedFor cooling was choosing to be fumigatedThe ac would blowCigarette smoke to and froAs a non smoking apartment it’s terribly ratedIn the final weeks of my eleven month stayIt was hard to keep my emotions at bayA ten day long gas leak!No hot water all week!Beyond thrilled to have gotten awayIn this no tenants rights state I’ve felt caughtI can’t can’t count how many battles I’ve foughtBut I won’t go far—-I rate it three starAt eight seventy five per month I can be bought- Readers Notes: A Carbon Monoxide detector was installed pretty promptly, and although we experienced plenty of issues that colored the experience, the Westside group always worked to see them resolved.
This is referring to my stay at the Westsides Envoy apartments at the 21st and San Gabriel Street - Envoy was a great place to live. The Westside Groups service was simply awesome! While we had very few maintenance issues over the five years we stayed at Envoy, their response to maintenance requests was always timely. The expertise of maintenance personnel was indeed very impressive. I hope this place remains as welcoming and lucky for the next residents who come in.
Finding an apartment for our son in Austin while he was on a summer internship was daunting. But everyone at Westside was so helpful and patient with us in the whole process. Thank you all (especially Alex and Chris). You made a major task seamless for us, and we appreciate that so much!
Hyde Park Court:Ive had zero problems so far with maintenance, neighbors, or the landlords. The apartments appear a little small at first but once you move in you realize its more than enough room. There is always ample parking, and the Westside Group is available around the clock to help you with any issues. If youre a student who wants to live in a quiet part of town but still be close to UT, this is a great location.
Referring to my experience at the Rio Grande location: I think the complex is perfect for students or young professionals getting their start. Very charming one bedrooms, small but with everything you need. I’d highly recommend their management team! In 3 years, I’ve filed multiple maintenance requests and they have been extremely prompt about replacing/repairing appliances. The location is great for any University of Texas student (walking distance) or someone who works in the central/downtown area.
One of the best places to live in Austin, especially for the price. Highly recommend it here.
It was a fantastic 2+ years at this complex. No complaints whatsoever; and Chris, the manager, was responsive and went above and beyond for me.
I lived at The Monticello, a Westside Group apartment for ten years. It is a very quiet place near everything in Central Austin you need—supermarkets, restaurants, drugstores, a food co-op, and more. I found that maintenance requests were answered promptly, and any complaints about noise dealt with quickly. You can easily live here and rely on your feet and the bus for getting around. On Speedway both the UT shuttle and Route 5 are available. On nearby Guadalupe Street, Rapid Metro 801 and Route 1 are available.
The Westside Group has seriously been the best property management company Ive ever dealt with. Prompt and friendly responses, they work with you, super fast maintenance, easy online portals for rent and maintenance requests, and everyone working here is genuinely nice and thoughtful. I only wish I could take them with me to my next place!!
The Westside Group, first and foremost, has great management. If you have a need, whether it is maintenance or something else, they respond quickly and effectively and get the job done. The location is unbeatable. If youre looking for an affordable place to live in Austin in a great location with great management, this is the top place I would recommend.
Awesome apartment complex. Chris is amazing and so great. They don’t micro manage and always take care of things on time also very affordable for down town living
Westside Group was really great at accommodating our requests- whenever we had a problem or concern they were quick to repair or respond! Our apartment was updated and well kept, and it is in a great location where you can walk to fun eats and coffee shops which we loved. We still had a couple of things that bothered us but no place is perfect. Paying for laundry and parking can be a hassle but overall we really enjoyed living in W 6th Apartments!I would definitely recommend if you are looking for something simple, affordable, and want to be downtown but away from the hustle and bustle of the city!
An amazing Group. The staff was always there to answer any of my questions. Any maintenance requests I had were attended to within a day or two. I must say my favorite part about living in the Envoy Building was the community there, the yard would always bring us together. This place has left a great impression on me.
Affordable housing close to the UT campus. Very good management and super fast and reliable maintenance. Great place to live!
Unbelievable location and exceptional service. Chris and team are kind, responsive, and not like every other apartment place out there just trying to pick from your pockets. A+
Chris at The Westside Group was super helpful and responsive when I needed assistance in apartment hunting. Best and most attentive service I have received from a property management group.
Best managed place in Austin. Best maintained On site manager,on site maintenance. Can’t be beat. Owner could not be nicer.
Really cant beat the location!! Easy walking distance to restaurants, art galleries, & boutique shopping along 6th street and the Clarksville neighborhood is so cute and safe; Ive never had any issue walking to a coffee shop or restaurant on West Lynn regardless of time, day or night. The office staff and maintenance workers are friendly and helpful and the pool is always well-maintained making it an excellent place to sneak away over lunch for some sun. Gas cooking is a bonus, but the lack of dishwasher is a drawback.I had an issue with some of my plants I set out on our porch to get some sun (that likely met an untimely end due to a neighbors curious puppy) and they went above and beyond to repair the situation - even though it wasnt their fault or responsibility. The units are a little dated and the finish-out leaves some details to be desired, and noise from the parking lot is very obvious if youre in a unit facing the lot. But for the price and the location you cant do better in downtown Austin! Highly recommend checking out these apartments!
I was a resident of 6th Street West Apartments for 1 year, leasing a 1-bedroom apartment. I moved to this complex from the Northeast US and the remote leasing process was seamless. One of the best features of 6th Street West Apartments is their online portal for residents. The portal made it easy to pay monthly rent/utilities, as well as manage facility requests. In addition, any facilities requests that came up for my unit were handled efficiently and properly. This living situation offered a prime location to downtown Austin; nestled in the safe, quaint, residential neighborhood of Clarksville. The management team was consistently cooperative, responsive, and helpful.
I lived at the 2800 Rio Grande property, or Rio Grande Square. Parking and trash are included in rent, nothing else. The rent is low but keep in mind you will spend a lot more paying for water, electricity, gas, and internet/cable. There is coin laundry on the property but I never have coins so I always went to a laundromat down the road. No central AC, just a unit in the back room. No dishwasher, garbage disposal, or microwave either. The walls are very thin at this complex, and with a loud upstairs neighbor I was pretty unhappy sometimes. But the place is a good size for one person, and I liked that I had two closets and two desks built in. The bedroom easily fits a full/queen sized bed. I did have a problem with bugs: but I dont hold that against them because the complex is old and Im on the first floor. It is close to campus and the parking is really nice. There is also a ton of storage space in my unit, more than I ever actually used. All in all if you need a studio, this is a pretty nice location. I would recommend earplugs and bug spray, but Ive really enjoyed living here and I am actually sad to be moving out soon. Also the management is great, they are really responsive and the maintenance man always came to fix stuff the same day or next day. You can pay rent online which is also awesome.
Very good realty. I appreciate their careful services!
Management always responds to issues promptly and keeps the property in good condition.
Very responsive about repairs!
