This was honestly one of the worst places Ive ever lived. My unit was on the second floor facing north loop/taco cabana and I should have taken managements reluctance to tell me the units location as a red flag. On my second day living there maintenance let themselves into the apartment unannounced without any communication to me about them being there which is extremely unprofessional which was another immediate red flag. The road noise was absolutely horrible on top of that ; but the main issue was my neighbor. They would blast music constantly, have parties til around 4am, and would leave their dog howling overnight. I told management about this 3 - 4 times and nothing was changed. Another issue was the lacking security. Multiple cars got broken into and I genuinely didnt feel safe in my apartment living alone and being on only the second floor. You definitely are paying for location and convenience for this complex and not quality, especially with how thin the walls/ceilings are.The only good things I have to say are that the amenities are nice and the management is communicative.I regret living here and was highly disappointed to the point of breaking my lease after only four months.

I lived here for a little over a year and had to move due to work. Id like to write a perfect 5 star review for this apartment building...First off, the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating to all the situations I ran in to. Starting off with move in during covid, they did a wonderful job of touring the apartment virtually with me. Move in was very easy, except for that the building freight elevator is a little difficult to reach with a moving truck due to building design. Maintenance requests were completed day of, if not the very next morning. Specifically like to call out the maintenance guy with the Zelda ringtone. An absolute professional, and friendly guy.I was there during the big winter storm, and the staff was even nice enough to bring a bunch of KFC meals for residents when food was a little scarce in the area...My only downside is regarding crime. Occasionally packages got stolen from the hallway. I think this speaks more to Austin in general, but I hope theyre able to fix with security cameras or something. The facility regularly allows police to use the bathroom (saying police presence is positive which I agree with) but they park wherever they like. This would be fine except they clog the reception and drive into the parking garage sometimes. When I suggested they use a parking spot like everyone else I was met with a little hostility from a property manager. Again, this is my only downside but something to consider.Seriously, if youre looking for a spot in this area this is the place to be and the price is right.

I lived in this community for two years, and the whole experience was amazing. The community is beautiful and well kept; very nice common areas, state-of-the-art machines in the gym, and a wonderful pool area with large and clean swimming pool. Leasing is straightforward, people in the office are really nice (Sarah is terrific, she assisted us when we moved out, but I would also like to mention the others I worked with, even though they left: many thanks to Megan, who prepared my initial leasing contract, and to Ezequiel, who is just great!). The maintenance team is amazing: thank you for everything, Hector! The apartments are beautiful, with very modern appliances. We had a one bedroom, which is perfect for a single person and really good for a young couple. I loved the kitchen. Also, we had the luck that our apartment was facing the pool area, so that the view was priceless. Parking is great, I never had problems in finding a free spot on my floor.Only negative aspect, if I really have to find one, is that, at least since I first moved there, rents are increasing significantly. But, on the other hand, I think this is a common trend in the Austin area, above all if you are willing to live relatively close to Downtown.Definitely recommended!

I really want to love Camden, as the apartments and amenities are nice. Unfortunately, I can only give a 1 star until safety and security concerns are addressed appropriately. My car was just broken into on the 4th floor of the parking garage. The passengers window was completely smashed (and no, we dont leave valuables or visible items in the car). Unfortunately, this is not the first time weve experienced a security concern, attempted break-in, package theft, or car break-in as a resident here. Someone even previously attempted to commit grand theft auto by breaking into and hot-wiring our other vehicle.Other residents frequently experience similar issues, including quick and persistent porch pirates (if your package is on your doorstep for more than 30 minutes, its probably gone). Another resident had the wheels stolen off his car, someone else had their catalytic converters stolen. Another resident witnessed an individual walking down the hallway attempting to open front doors one by one. Another residents truck was stolen. It is endless. Its very clear from my own experience and after speaking with other residents that these security and safety breaches are a common occurrence. While I fully understand that Camden cant prevent crime from happening, there are many opportunities to implement stronger deterrents and safety procedures that Camden is failing to address. This is completely unacceptable. The major changes I would like to see implemented immediately:1. Hire a full-time, on-site security officer (who is not a shared resource with other locations) to patrol the premises, hallways, and parking garage during the hours of 8pm-8am2. Install additional security cameras in every corner of the parking garage and in stairwells3. Secure all access points from the parking garage to resident hallways so that they require Chirp or keyfob access. Other luxury apartments have this additional layer of security so that if someone follows another person into the parking garage, the non-resident still cant easily access interior hallways or doorways.I would like Camden to take the security of its residents seriously by escalating these concerns to the corporate office and pushing for additional safety measures.Edit: Please read the response from management to this review carefully. Subtext is theyve done enough and wont commit to taking any additional actions to deter crime, even though Ive outlined specific steps that could have a significant impact on resident safety and security. Youre in charge of your own personal protection... aka not their problem. This is exactly the mindset I am hoping to counteract by bringing visibility to the issue.

My boyfriend and I moved here this year with the desire for a fresh start and new experience. We viewed at least 8 different apartments and the Camden really stood out. Chloe has created a comfortable, easy going and lovely experience and provided the perfect moving transition. The apartment itself is beautiful, the appliances are practically new ad the amenities are more than we could ask for. The facility is really clean, especially the dog park! We live on the street side and it’s way quieter than I was expecting. We had an issue with our water pressure in the fridge and it was fixed within the first 24 hours! Other than that everything has been perfect and the other staff is very attentive and cares about their residents. I’m so happy the Camden is our first home here in Austin!

Molly did an amazing job helping me and my husband moving into Camden Lamar Heights. I was surprised how quickly and attentive she was with us too. The whole staff was nice, but Molly really sold the place for us. I moved to this community a little over a month ago and its already been a much better living experience than my previous one. The leasing team has been so helpful with tending to any of my needs from the get-go. The maintenance staff have been super quick to resolve any fixtures that Ive needed and they do a wonderful job at maintaining the building. I really enjoy the amenities such as the gym and pool. Its been easy to maintain social distancing in these areas because they dont ever get crowded and there are many signs that promote being safe.I personally have not experienced any package theft and I receive deliveries every week. I even forgot that I had package delivered to my door while I was out at work all day and when I got home that night, it was still sitting outside. If you ever do receive a package and wont be home, you can reach out to the leasing staff and they would be happy to slide the package into your apartment for you!Overall, the staff, both leasing and maintenance, are very friendly and they really strive to take care of their residents! I highly recommend this community.

Everything is great with this apt complex. I have had an amazing experience with the people working in the leasing office and the rooms and building are always very well kept.I have only one complaint and it’s the reason I will never live here again and it’s the internet and cable. What the service provides is amazing, lots of channels and options on the cable box but the cable and internet does not work at all... When I say it doesn’t work at all it doesn’t work at all... All they tell you is to call the internet company and when you do that it’s just a robot that answers. The internet and cable turns off probably 5-10 times a day every single day and there is nothing you can do about it. My iPhone hotspot and my college dorm in west Texas is more reliable than the cable they provide..So until they figure it out on that front I wouldn’t even think about moving here.

I loved living at Camden Lamar Heights while I worked for Camden Property Trust! The office staff is great! They were always friendly, attentive, and truly care about the community and its residents. The maintenance staff is also amazing. Ram, Julio, and Joaquin are hands down the best maintenance team I have ever encountered. They respond quickly, and always did a great job. They were always very respectful when entering my apartment for any maintenance requests. The community is beautiful and clean! This community has all of the amenities you could need, like a great pool, 24/7 gym, 24/7 club room, and a huge dog park. I would definitely still be living there if my new job was closer. If I am ever back in Central Austin, Camden Lamar Heights is the first place I’m going!

I currently live at Camden Lamar Heights (been here since 9/2019) and this is my honest review.Pros:- As a young professional, this is a nice place to live. The community is nice and takes care of each other. It is close to many restaurants (better prior to COVID-19), shops, and grocery stores.- The apartments themselves are nice with modern appliances and good floor plans.- The maintenance team is always on top of everything and I rarely if ever have to wait more than 1 day for something to be fixed in the apartment.- As a dog mom, the dog park is HUGE and very nice.Cons:- I think depending on where you live the apartment can be loud. If you live on an apartment on N. Lamar expect traffic noise or if you live by the pool expect noisy nights on weekends during the summer.- Mandatory subscription to AT&T. This is inconvenient but not a deal breaker for me although it may be for other people.- Theft is the big problem at this complex and the one that CLH cannot seem to control nor do they seem to care. Since I have lived here, the car thefts have gotten worse and include everything from minor thefts from cars, tires being stolen, and actual cars being stolen. They have made adjustments including higher gates at the entrances but that is about it. These issues have been going on for months and nothing further has been done. If this issue is not resolved, it will be the main reason we leave CLH.I hope that this helps future residents make their decision.

Visited a friend living at the Camden last night for just 3 hours and in that time my car was broken into. I’ve also been made aware that this is becoming the norm here. Doesn’t matter where a person parks, your car isn’t safe at Camden. 6th floor and you’ll get you back window broken, 2nd floor you’ll have all your stuff thrown around, 4th floor your whole car will be put up on jacks and your tires stolen. Management has yet to solve this problem or take steps to help residents and guests feel safe. Check the cameras and do something!

I loved living at Camden Lamar Heights. It is a beautiful community in a great location. It is close to a lot of my favorite Austin bars, and is easy access to downtown. The amenities are kept sparkling. The pool is beautiful and the community room is a great place to get some work done. I used the coffee machine regularly, and it is so convenient. One of my favorite features is the huge dog park. It is the largest private dog park in the area. The parking garage is huge, and you will always have a spot. My apartment was beautiful. The finishes are designed so that they work with any color scheme. The floor plans are spacious, and there are a lot of options available on property if you need additional storage. The maintenance team is a huge draw to this community. They take great care of the property and the residents. Requests are handled efficiently and thoroughly. Ramiro, Joaquin, and Julio work hard every to make sure the property is taken care of and everyones apartment is in great shape. The office staff is super helpful and kind. They are welcoming to anyone who comes through the doors, and steadfast in their follow-up. I greatly enjoyed my time living there and only moved to relocate to another state. Camden Lamar Heights is a great option for an Austin apartment. I have worked for Camden for several years now, and will always miss living and working at this property. This community and team will always be a favorite of mine. Let them make you feel at home, too.

During my apartment search when seeing this apartment, as a non pet-owner, I didn’t know the area right outside what is now my window is a dog park (yes I should have asked or went outside to check, lesson learned). Now I pay ~$1500/mo to get woken up almost everyday by loud barks once as late as 3am but more often as early as 7 am. Leasing here has been such a huge regret especially as a night person and I have lost so much sleep here even with earplugs. I’ve even taken days off work when I’ve gotten so little sleep.I thought a reasonable resolution would be to ask to switch to another apartment unit, as surely my sanity would be worth a transfer fee and moving expenses. Leasing office told me (very politely) that that was not possible. She did tell me if I wanted to renew my lease but for another apartment unit I could do so for an additional fee of half a months rent...So I’m stuck here counting down the days my lease expires and I can finally sleep in on a Saturday.

I have to say, things changed for the better when I started living here. I had my own little duplex before this and SWORE I would never live in another apt again. I loved having my own space and yard. However, I was drawn in by the apt units that have their own live/work commercial space below. I opened up my own business and have the luxury of a 25 step walk to work down my own stairwell. The apartment is quiet with a gated parking garage, Doors have keypad locks and internally thick walls so I rarely hear my neighbors. Unit Perks are things like beautiful high ceilings, tons of storage and windows, a garden tub, granite countertops and a deep set sink. Not to mention valet trash pick up, a pretty fresh gym and a Clubhouse with a full kitchen. The pool is placed where you would normally see a courtyard in older apts. Its surrounded by palms and units, so its not directly out on Lamar, it feels sort of peaceful ( if you can drown out the sirens and sounds of the street!)Super perk!I have to hand it to their maintenance team! Ram and Joaquin are quick to respond (often times same day) and they have been paramount in helping my business open (in the middle of COVID!) From answering questions about the building for my contractors to actually physically doing some heavy lifting and suspending things from my ceiling! The people hired at Camden truly know what they are doing and actually fix the things they are called in for! Silly to say but, in my experiences with other apt complexes, I found the maintenance teams to be unreliable and often times causing more harm than good. Not here! Ram and his team really want to keep the property and units looking good and fully functioning.I trust them to take care of not only me and my home but my business and my fuzzy fur baby ( who loves the on site dog park fyi.) Definitely check this place out!

I must start my review that I did not choose to stay at Camden Lamar Heights, however only because we chose a different Camden residence for our home. But I felt it necessary to give a review on how helpful Ashley in the leasing office was to our apartment search! She was AMAZING! THEY WONT DO ANYTHING TO STOP THE CONSTANT THEFTS OF PACKAGES AND CAR BREAK-INS. Outside of that SMALL tidbit, everything else is wonderful and its a really nice apartment.* In terms of property crime in the last year, Camden Lamar Heights is the #1 hotspot in the 78756, 78751, and 78705 zip codes (the three zip codes nearest to us). In second, is West Koenig Flats, and in third is Burnet Flats.* In the last year, we had 29 reports of theft and burglary, including 17 vehicle burglaries, 5 bicycle thefts, 2 theft of auto parts, 1 auto theft, and 4 reports of general theft. This is up 38% year over year. This is more than the 14% year over year increase seen in 78751 and 15% year over year increase in 78756.* In the month of September alone, we had 4 reported car breakins.* To put things into perspective, in the entire year of 2017, we had 14 total property theft reports and we were #6 in terms of community hotspots. Some notes:* This data only includes parking lots and residential addresses. It only includes police reports of types Theft, Auto Theft, and Burglary. It does not include any violent or family crime.* The data comes directly from APD, and the website below is automatically refreshed once per week, every Monday, with the latest data.* If you dont report a car breakin to the police and file an official police report, it will not show up on this dashboard. Please, if you are victim of theft, call 311 to report the crime.* I will try to keep the report site going well after I leave the apartments later next month, but cant guarantee its uptime or freshness.**Response to camden**Someones car gets broken into nearly every single day and you guys do absolutely nothing. Please stop with the oh we care or the neighborhood has crime. You guys dont care and just want plausible deniability and to make more money!

I have lived at Camden Lamar Heights since May 2015 and overall it is a complex with nice amenities and living areas. The dog park is probably the largest apartment complex dog park I have ever seen. It has been a relatively comfortable place to live all things considered. However, the reason I am giving Camden Lamar Heights a 1-star review is because of an issue I have had to deal with all of my years living here and that is PACKAGE THEFT. Shortly after moving in Camden management changed their policy on packages so that they would no longer receive and hold packages for residents in the leasing office to pick up at their own convenience. Instead all packages not fromUSPS will get dropped at your door and if they require a signature they will sometimes leave a door tag. You’d think this wouldn’t be an issue but you would be incorrect.Package theft is a rampant issue in this complex and people are consistently posting about packages being stolen. The leasing office’s answer to all of the internal complaints is to offer “solutions” such as shipping your packages elsewhere or having a neighbor take your packages in for you. Many residents have suggested that Camden invest in a secure parcel locker system that residents could access to get their packages. Many other apartment complexes have something like this where residents can easily and reliably get their packages. After years of complaints, Camden management has done nothing. If you want to constantly be on the phone with UPS or FedEx customer service or travel to an offsite location to get your packages then please disregard my comments above but if you get a lot of packages and don’t exclusively work from home or travel then this may not be the complex for you.

I want to start out by saying that I am THE PICKIEST when it comes to apartments and Camden exceeded almost every one of my expectations. I lived in Austin from 2016-2020. I moved into Camden at the beginning of 2018 and moved out this June of 2020. I lived in a couple of complexes prior to Camden and I have to say that this one was THE BEST by far. Yes, rent is sort of outrageous, but that is to be expected in central Austin. You cant beat the North Loop location, though. I lived on the top (fifth) floor, faces N. Lamar. Below are my pros and cons of the complex:Pros:- Virtually sound-proof unit; however, Im a very light sleeper and often utilized a noise machine to help disguise the noise of N Lamar traffic- Very kind and responsive maintenance; I once had a leak in my ceiling after 2018 flooding and maintence was there within 10 minutes!- Large private balconies- Respectful staff (especially manager!!)- Safe-ish parking garage with AMPLE guest parking- Views of downtown (depends on where you face)- HUGE off-leash dog park- Great pandemic response - I was granted a large amount to help cover rent - thank you, Camden!- Alarm system that can be programed at any timeCons:- Crime such as the occasional car break-in, almost always package theft, as well as the gates to the garage usually being broken. My last week there, someone broke into my mailbox- If you like stuff delivered (via Favor, etc), this isnt the place, because of how huge and confusing it is- Tight parking garage; Ive had several people almost crash into me head-on because of how tight the garage is and how fast they were going- Besides the manager, the leasing staff is always changing (like every 3 months or so), so its hard to keep track of who told you whatIn my opinion, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. It was, by far, the best place that Ive ever lived. The only reason I left was because I was moving cities to continue my education. I fell more and more in love with my apartment and neighborhood each year I was there and leaving was a lot harder than I originally thought it was going to be. I was very proud to call this place home for 2.5 years. Goodbye, Camden and thanks for everything!

I lived in Camden Lamar Heights from 8/19 to 5/20 in the Bluebill model. Below is my very honest review for Camden, and I hope you can read through it before you make the decision to rent with them.Pros:1. Maintenance team is responsive and helpful. A maintenance request can be made online and the team arrives soon to fix the issue. They are discrete and fast. I have no complaints for them.2. Indoor amenities are nice. The ceiling is 10-ft high. The appliances in the apartment are modern and easy to use. The kitchen is thoughtfully-designed.3. Staff from leasing office are friendly and responsive.4. The community website provides a great opportunity to communicate with other residents, report any issues with the complex, and buy/sale furniture.Cons:1. Disorganized management, especially during move-in and move-out.There is only one freight elevator in the whole complex. We unfortunately lived on the other side and it was a huge pain to move around our stuff. However, the most disappointing thing is the disorganization from the leasing office. When I moved in, the office double-booked the storage unit. My key didn’t work on the storage unit they assigned me, so they sent the maintenance team to re-key it. It turned out to be SOME OTHER RESIDENT’s storage unit with their personal stuff in it. Imagine just sitting at home and the leasing office secretly opened your storage unit to some strangers?? It was extremely unprofessional. When I moved out, they double-booked the freight elevator and had the audacity to ask me to stop blocking the elevator during MY scheduled time so that the other people can use it. Then what is the point of reserving the elevator? The next day I tried to rent the dolly and was told the dollies were stolen.Moving-in and moving-out are already stressful, and the office definitely made it much more miserable. The office is fully aware of these issues I had but never contacted me to address these incidents. It makes me feel that they don’t really care about their residents.2. Technology package is a joke. They advertised the mandatory $98/mo package includes cable and good internet. The cable is NOT HD. It is unbelievable that an organization would force their residents to buy non-HD cable. The internet is OK but definitely not great. When we were all trapped at home during the pandemic, we are stuck with the horrible internet and non-HD TV. You get the idea.3. Safety issues. The entry to garage was broken half of the time when I was in Camden, meaning anyone can enter the building with no problem. Though it never happened to me, many residents reported car break-ins and package thefts on the community page, and Camden did not make much effort to address these safety issues. It took them almost a month to fix the garage entry.4. Outdoor amenities are not as nice as they advertise. The gym is of medium size for such a big complex. The yoga and cycling classes were broken when I was there (The office did not keep paying for the classes). The three grills in the pool area are barely usable.During the pandemic, Camden closed all outdoor amenities, which is understandable. However, they made zero effort to improve our stay-at-home life. To me, they could have offered to upgrade our forced tech package, but they did not. They did have some “relief fund”, but it is not applicable to people like me who didn’t lose my job. Eventually we decided to move out. They charge a mandatory $90 cleaning fee (no matter how well we cleaned the apartment ourselves) and an early termination fee (one month’s rent). In general, Camden is not a bad place to live. It does have nice indoor decor and amenities. But if you care about safety, or if you are looking for an apartment that truly cares about their residents, I would not recommend Camden Lamar Heights.

This is my third lease at Lamar Heights and I couldnt be happier! I love my apartment, my neighbors are extremely friendly and the location is ideal for my work. The service Ive received from the maintenance and leasing staff has been top notch. Brittany in the leasing office has been overly nice and went out of her way to help me. Last month before I renewed, I did look at a few other communities to compare and I realized how nice I had it. The maintenance team goes above and beyond with keeping this community clean and trash free and always provide the most amazing customer service. The value you receive with cable, internet, and trash pickup included makes it a great deal compared to others. Many of my neighbors have been discussing security going into the holiday season on our community website and Andrew, the manager, has been very accommodating in answering questions and concerns and I truly feel safe living here. I think it is fair to say that Camden Lamar Heights is the perfect living option for some residents, and not so much for others. If you are looking for an apartment that is visibly appealing to the eye, you may consider Camden Lamar Heights. The units themselves are very appealing visually and offer a modern/contemporary design. The floor plans are designed with space in mind and are functionally laid out. As far as pricing goes, I think that the rates are a little high but this is not surprising for Austin.During my time at Camden Lamar Heights (4/19-4/20), I ran into several different issues that weighed my overall review.A bundled Internet/Cable package is included for an additional monthly cost of $98. The service provider is AT&T. The service itself is very low quality. The cable is not in HD (another $10/month) and the internet included in the bundle is 45MBPS; however, this can be upgraded for an additional cost too. I chose to pay $22 additional/mo for Fiber - this was not worth it as I barely received speeds above the offered package. If you are not big on cable/wifi and do not mind the mandatory $98, this should be no issue for you.Initially when I moved to the area, safety was not a concern. This soon changed, however. The community offers a 6 floor parking garage, with guest parking offered on the top floor. The garage is secured by a gate and call box that requires a code or key-fob. During my time at Camden, the gate was broken past functionality 2 times for over a month at a time. During this time, several car break-in occurred - one of which being mine with $500 worth of stuff being stolen. When this was reported to the office, the first words out of the staff members mouth were Well what is your police report number?. Not I am sorry to hear this, or Are you okay? I was never followed up with either after reporting this issue and the few cameras located in the parking garage do not seem to alarm the intruders. Not only were resident vehicles broken into, attempts to gain entry to resident units were made. This issue and concern were brought to the Communities attention several times; however, not security was hired, nor was piece of mind offered.Another common issue within the community is package theft. Packages are left outside of residents doors or left in bulk in the mail room and constantly disappear. This has been brought to the communities attention; however, instead of investing in a package locker system to protect residents packages, their recommendation is to have your package delivered elsewhere. In regards to community concerns, pet owners are not always the most respectful. There is often times animal droppings in the hallways, on the stairs, and other random places around the community. The community amenities include a club room, 24hr gym, pool, and dog park. These areas are kept clean and maintained; however, the gym equipment is not always fully functional. All in all, I did not feel like my concerns or safety were seriously considered or respected during my time here and would not recommend this community if these are important factors to you.

I lived in Camden Lamar Heights for a little over a year and it was a great experience. The building is well built so you get very little noise from the road or your neighbors. The amenities are wonderful and the property is well maintained. You may read some issues around security but I never experienced any issues with packages being stolen and I lived in a pretty exposed area right off the parking garage that would have made a grab and go extremely easy and I had packages left all of the time. People need to be smart about deliveries and I suspect that in most cases, this was in part the fault of the owner. Britney in the leasing office was a great help in my leasing process from start to finish.

We lived here for 6 months and our unit was facing Lamar street. It was super noisy, especially during the weekend! We hardly ever get good sleep. The most dissapointing thing for me is they charged us with some RIDICULOUS FEES after we moved out. (If you read all the reviews on yelp, you will find that we are not the only one mentioned about the ridiculous fees). We got charged $49 for Carpet treatment for pet dander, much pet hair found in carpet, FYI we DONT have any pet and never ever had any kind of animal get inside our apartment, so maybe its from previous renter?? We dont know but its not nice when you got charged for something that you obviously didnt do. Also we got charged $38 for Scrub treatment for matted carpet walkways seriously?!!?!!! Maybe it was our fault because we never checked that meticulously when we first moved in. So my suggestion is pay attention to detail when you first move in, because they might charge you for something ridiculous. Or better suggestion: DONT LIVE HERE!!!!!

I currently live in Camden Lamar Heights and LOVE IT! I work downtown, and the proximity is perfect, and the rent is more than fair. Any issue is addressed quickly, and even those that cant be resolved right away are being tended to consistently and constantly.Management is awesome! Everytime I walk into the office, I am greeted warmly and by name. Shelley worked with my partner and I when we were leasing and shes been an absolute doll! Britney who also is a leasing agent is so wonderful! Always has a smile on her face and more than willing to help in any way. Stephanie, the Assistant Manager, organized a great fitness training event at a neighbor business, and Andy (the manager) was super gracious and awesome replacing my key fob to get in the building when my got lost. The maintenance team is top notch! They get to every work order within 24 hours, which is incredible! Also, considering that we have dogs and no problems have arisen with any of our requests, we are very impressed! For the record, I dont work for Camden.I recommend this property very very highly, and appreciate the staff very much!

Very bad experience with the leasing office. A friend recommended me, so I called the leasing office, they offered me price for the same unit higher then what I can directly see on their website for the same details. Moreover, very rude staff with no sense of customer satisfaction, seems like they dont care at all.Very much disappointed !

I have lived at Camden for about a year now and I plan to stay for awhile! Our experience with the leasing office and maintenance has been amazing. Stephanie, Megan, Andrew and Brooke are awesome and have been so helpful and organized when switching units- this is so important because moving can be stressful. My dog loves the dog park and other grassy areas around the building and it is very difficult to beat the amenities here! My only complaints are the narrow parking garage... but you get used to it and the hours of the club room. Camden Lamar Heights is a great choice for a place to live.

Package theft is a big problem.I’ve just moved into this apartment for half a month and my package got stolen while I was away for a business trip for just 4 days. While there are google reviews talking about the package theft problem in this apartment, previously the administration office told me that it was a rumor. Now it become my nightmare and reality. The administration office seems to be quite friendly and willing to help. But all they provide is some very general advice. They never act upon this. Given the high rent for this so-called luxury apartment, the administration office does not hold packages for residents. They also have no surveillance at the access and the stealing happens again and again.

Previous 5-star review knocked down to 3-stars after living here for 2 years.PACKAGE THEFT is a huge issue and management does not do anything to address it.Also, the garage doors have been open 24/7 for over a month and a half, so anybody off the street has full access to every single apartment. My bike was stolen and I have friends whose cars were broken into and even stolen off the property. Camden spares all expense when safety is involved, because its all about the money for them.Positive: Sarah has been excellent and a refreshing personality in the leasing office. Honestly, I wish she were the manager. Things would be a lot better.

The short: Good people on staff and quick maintenance repairs keep this place from getting 1-star. Expensive rent for faux luxury, forced outdated and slow internet service, negligent dog owners, only for show amenities, thin walls, and a corporate culture thats all about the fees make this place feel uninviting.Pros:- Manager, leasing staff, and maintenance crew are all extremely nice- Quick responses to maintenance repair requests- Tall ceilings- Always open gymCons:- The staff hands are tied by the corporate structure regarding fees, rent, etc. Feels like talking to robots sometimes, but thats not their fault (Again, super nice, nothing against them)- Forced ATT internet/TV package thats almost $90 a month for an average internet speed of 3 mbps (Google speed test) and no HD channels. This is actually ridiculously bad considering they are across the street from an AT&T center and the apartments were built in 2015. You can pay to increase speeds/channels but considering you can get 1 gig internet for $50 a month, its a joke of an option in 2019.- Forced $35 a month valet trash service. No option to decline.- First floor windows cant open if youre near the pool. Youll find that out after youve moved in already.- $300 admin fee.- $250 cleaning fee (They still charge another $90 when you move out)- Shared room that they show off on move in day, i.e. it has pool table, movie theater, beautiful kitchen with free coffee, internet cafe area. What a sweet deal, except its only open during business hours (which my leasing agent conveniently forgot to mention), so if you have a job you pretty much never get to use it.- Loud AF pool parties throughout the summer- Neighbors leave their dogs outside barking constantly- Dog. Poop. EVERYWHERE. On the lawn, hallways, stairs, and even the elevator. In the summer the whole place smells like dog poop.- Visitor parking is on the 6th floor of the garage- Walls are thin enough to hear your neighbors TV, conversations, music, etc.- Single bedroom unit bathroom doesnt have a window- After the cleaning fee additional move-out cleaning fee and pet fees (~$590) youd expect that to cover cleaning costs. I can understand carpet stain fee but how do you even protest pet odor (again windows dont open by the pool) or heavy clean? I vacuumed, swept, and wiped down the counters and expected the $590 to actually do something. Its clear they run a corporate racket of charging fees (move-in and move-out)- When I moved in the whole apartment smelled like curry, and had large drywall holes from previous tenants curtains. The other units I looked at were equally dirty, which is strange considering how much they charge in cleaning fees.- Drawers have an auto-close mechanism that makes them slam. You know when your neighbors are using their drawers.- Cheap materials for construction evident throughout- Cars are constantly broken into in the garage

I lived here for a year 2015-16 and am surprised by the high number of 5-star reviews. The staff is very friendly and they know their residents. They are helpful and, responsive. The location is also great, although with the growth of N Lamar and Burnet areas, getting in and out of the building can be tricky. I also love that the included washer and drier are higher-end machines that work great. The goodness stops here and I wish I could be more positive about my experience. Heres why:- The quality of the construction of the building is shameful. Walls are crooked, light switches are placed in the most terrible areas, the floors creek and crack with even the slightest movement, and the walls are paper thin. A sign that the property managers sacrificed quality to save a buck and finish sooner.- While I adore dogs and love that they are welcomed here, my hallway was a constant landmine of dog urine and feces. This is INSIDE. This also goes for the parking garage, residents allowing their furry friends to urinate near cars.- There is a pretty terrible package situation happening. In 2016, how many of us shop online regularly? All of us! They have far too few parcel boxes in the mail center--and since they seem to be in a fight with the USPS postal carrier--you get those annoying orange cards that require you to physically GO to the post office to pick up your package. In my final few months living here, I had to do this once or twice a week. Not cool, they should have created a solution months ago.- The parking garage is a apocalyptic version of American Gladiator--using both people and cars. So poorly designed--and with peoples massive pick-up trucks--you are in constant danger of being hit by a car (while walking) or colliding with a car while you drive as there is not nearly enough room to maneuver. And its not rare to see trails of vomit and dog urine.- Important things are broken far too frequently. Like the parking garage gates. Broken for weeks and weeks at time. The main elevator. Constantly broken. Truly inconvenient and likely a result of poor design and the developers doing things on the cheap.- Like in any young, vibrant, growing city, there are always people out at all times, having fun. See previous comment about vomit in parking garage. This was a regular thing. I was also once told I was breaking the rules for partying at the pool after closing hours. A resident filed a noise complaint. The clearly very astute and intelligent security guard asked the offenders their apartment number. And whomever it was causing the raucous gave my apartment number. Lovely. Most importantly, however, (and the deal breaker) was the rent increase. They wanted to increase my rent more than 20%. Last time I checked, this wasnt New York or San Francisco. I realize how popular Austin is, but the folks at Camden corporate who calculate these things are smoking all kinds of crazy substances to think this is market rate. So while these rates might make sense if this property were several miles closer to downtown, what they purport to be market rate in this neighborhood is ludicrous. My friends down the street at Burnet Flats had rent increases of TEN DOLLARS.Thinking back to value for your money, you are simply not getting it here. They are billing themselves (and literally billing) as a luxury community, when theres nothing luxury about it.

From the moment Kyle (partner) and I walked in we were greeted with patience, respect, and enthusiasm. This is how a leasing company should function. From touring the beautiful property and seeing the spacious and unique one bedroom designs we knew that Lamar Heights had exactly what we would want from a luxury apartment community. There was never any point were we felt rushed or pressured into applying for a unit (honestly there is no need for gimmick sale pitches, the property speaks for itself). I honestly felt a human connection with every member of the leasing staff (which is tough to experience with corporate rental properties). My boyfriend had a million questions/ inquires into the company and the unit. Hes an engineering type so he needs all of his meticulous questions answered before he feels comfortable signing any dotted line. After we decided we wanted to be a part of the Camden family they were accommodating to any move in day changes, deposit drop off, and unit changes. We were always welcomed to come in for any further questions or if we just wanted to look at the unit for measuring purposes. I hate to say, but as a couple, we can be a handful to deal with, but the staff here never made me feel anything but welcomed.Shelley, she is awesome, quite simply; the bees knees. Very warm and competent. She was a pleasure to work with and honestly such a gem to have in an office setting. Us choosing Camden has as much to do with you as it does the property itself. Keep it up!Nick, he was actually the person we signed our leasing contract with. Was thorough, efficient, and extremely pleasant to interact with (which are three tough qualities to have simultaneously). Made the entire signing process easy and exciting. We discussed valentine day (because that was our move in day) plans and where good places to eat around the community were. It felt like home not just a business deal, made us feel like we were valued not just a number. Way to Go Nick!Brittany, you are professional, kind, and a great people person. You have always had a kind word and made the application process much less nerve racking. I was nervous about an unexpected change in move in dates (moved from end or March to Feb 13th with 2 weeks notice) but you were so compassionate over the phone/email that I knew we were in good hands. Thank you so much for being so patient with me and emails. High-Five !I know there are two other leasing representatives in the office whom I have not met but if these three are a reflection of your office I would say you guys are on the right track. Management should definitely be proud of this team and understand that the this property is doing a spectacular job at representing the company. Kudos to everyone! Our unit overlooks the pool, which is beautiful at night and provides a great breeze during the day. I have yet to really turn my A/C on. Our 1/1 is spacious and the layout is not the cookie cutter lay out most apartments offer. The washer and dryer....yall....theyre awesome! Its so quite and are BRAND SPANKIN NEW. Speaking of quite, the dish washer is virtually silent. I had to check a couple of times that it was even on, yes! I hated having to turn up the volume because the dishwasher sounded like dinosaurs fighting (true story). We had a minor issue with our fridge but the maintenance staff was on top of it and I had ice before I knew it. The maintenance staff is very friendly and always greets me in the hallway with a cheerful hello! The bathroom is perfectly laid out and the brilliant designer that worked a linen closet into the bathroom is genius. The music that plays around the pool is not heard from within my unit (which is important since Kyle does sound mixing and needs silence on days hes working from home). THE KITCHEN IS BOMB DOT COM (oh yeah, 90s reference for you guys).Thank you so much for welcoming us into the building, we love our space, and love being apart of the Camden Community! Ill be sure to update with more happy reviews as we continue our chapter with Camden.

**Updated Review**I’ll keep the text of my original review down below (originally posted in August of 2016), but I’ve pulled a star from this review based on some simply disappointing developments since I’ve lived here. Why:If youre seeing this post, youre likely interested in moving into Camden LH, and on paper, that makes sense - great central location, new construction, and a name brand in multi-family living. The problem of late has been an utterly impermissible spike in theft of property, valuables, and even outright auto theft of late-model vehicles. Dated as recently as two months ago, you can likely find a review of CLH whereby the poster linked a video of his Covette’s wheels being stolen over the course of 90 seconds. This happened in our parking garage - I know the poster - he found his car on cinder blocks. This isnt new and has become a seemingly accelerated trend. I dont fully fault CLH, but its tough to offer a pass given their anemic response to this trend.————I’ve always had an easy time ignoring the reviews on here that complain about Camden for being too “corporate.” I’ve now lived in a few different Camden locations and have been treated incredibly well. This location falls in step with the expectations that were set when I lived in Camden City Centre of Houston, TX.Camden Lamar Heights is an excellent place for young-professionals seeking a central location in Austin. If you’re considering an apartment with this cost, your expectations would include a great pool, a proper workout facility, a quiet night’s sleep, high-end finishes, and quick access to the basics (grocery, food, restaurants & bars); Camden Lamar Heights delivers on all of these expectations, but in varying degrees. I’ve listed the Good & Bad below... I havent found any UGLY yet, but Im never opposed to updating a post when I find justification. The Good:The pool has its busy days on the weekends, and is specifically popular with the young-professional crowd on Saturdays. It is great place to meet new people. The workout facility is rarely busy, and unlike most apartments that I’ve lived in, you may find it completely empty at most hours (outside of 3PM-7PM).The finishes are on par with the expectations that you’ve probably set if you’re visiting a Camden. I’m largely impressed with the quality of construction, and besides a few engineering oversights, the new construction is fundamentally good. As a kicker, I’ve noticed that all windows are double-paned (great for noise reduction and insulation)The Bad:You will find other apartments in Austin with lower costs, and more flexibility to offer promotions. The “Technology Package” is a required inclusion that delivers standard definition TV and 18MBPS internet for around $100 a month; as if stapling a millennial to cable contract wasn’t bad enough, Camden compounded their misunderstanding of my generation by only offering SD. If you’re not sure what SD is, I’d suggest that you hop on the Magic School Bus and revisit that jaw-dropping moment when OJ made his getaway. Fan of scavenger hunts? Try to find an SD TV in this era – bonus points for a Zenith. The fact is that you can use your current TV to receive the signal or upgrade for another $10, but you’ll be required to have a one-off bill with AT&T every month. The summary of my frustration: If the inclusion is required, negotiate a better price than I can get on my own, make the offerings modern, or let me opt out. My previous experience at Camden included HD, faster internet, and carried the same price. The parking lot is exactly as described in other reviews: a thrill at every corner! Traffic sweeps tightly around narrow turns, and the entrance to the garage is largely constricted. Many weekends the entrance will be left open due to issues with the mechanical structure. My experience with maintenance is very light, so this judgement may be premature; however, it is worthy of noting that maintenance took over a week to address my service request.

I am native to Austin and Camden Lamar Heights is one of the first luxury apartments I decided to live in central Austin. Before choosing this location I visited Echo, The Triangle and The Midtown, all nice apartments but Camden blew them out of the water. In my opinion, Camden Lamar Heights is a great place to live! What sold me on this locations were not only the amenities but the staff. Personally, when it comes to selecting apartments the leasing staff makes or breaks the deal for me. Why? These are the people who I go to when I need any assistance or help. When I first walked into Camden Lamar Heights Apartments, Shelly greeted me. She was respectful, helpful, genuine and really enjoyable. The amenities that Camden provides are great (I mention a few below)! Occasionally, their maybe problems but the leasing office is quick to let residents know what is going on and how they are trying to address the issue.Brittany and Stephanie are also leasing agents at Lamar Heights who have helped me plenty of times and who I feel comfortable to reach out to.Overall, here are a few things to point out:1.) Camden Lamar Heights is a brand new building so I am the very first person living in my unit (yay!).2.) Camden provides similar amenities like other luxury apartments in central/downtown Austin, but unlike those apartment, Camden provides high speed Internet (ATT U-verse; you can also upgrade to giga-speeds if you desire, but not necessary! I use the tech. package that already comes with the apartments and it works well for streaming videos and other Internet things). Rent also includes valet trash, an enclosed parking garage, a club room (with an amazing Starbuck Coffee machine!!!), nice swimming pool (3 grills and plenty of areas to sit down and relax) and a great gym with a variety of equipment.3.) Camden is near local coffee shops (i.e. Epoch), comic book stores, half price books, and restaurants (i.e. in the triangle). Nicely enough, the streets are not busy unless its rush hour.4.) the residents that live here are not college students (No collage vibes for being close to the UT campus!). Everyone Ive encountered is well manner, respectable and nice. Theres a good variety in ages but Ive only seen a handful of family with young kids. I would say the average age of residents would be in their late 20s that are single or couples.5. The staff that works at Camden (Shelly, Britney, Stephanie and Andy) are well mannered, kind, extremely helpful and well-around good people! Heck, they are enjoyable to talk to even when I don’t have an issue/suggestion ☺

Let me begin by saying, I have officially lived at Camden Lamar Heights for 3 months now, and this is the best apartment complex I have ever lived at.Although its located in a pretty busy area, my apartment is extremely quiet and peaceful. This is something that is extremely important to me. Maintenance has always completed my service requests in a timely manner, as has gone as far as to call me directly afterwards to follow up. The office staff is friendly, attentive, and always goes above and beyond to make sure that I am taken care of. Its almost impossible to find a leasing office full of people who not only genuinely enjoy their jobs but know their residents by their first names- keep it up you guys!Lamar Heights has awesome amenities I utilize almost every day. First, they have a massive off- leash dog park with a dog wash station. I use is pretty often and have met several of my neighbors. Secondly, they have a clubroom that is open when I leave for work with a state of the art complementary Starbucks machine. I cannot function until I get my cup o joe in the morning and I save a lot by having access to this. They have a pool that I believe is open until that has several grills with wi-fi access. They also have a 24 hour fitness center and yoga studio. I have also met several of my neighbors at a few of the resident events the leasing office has hosted. Also, the entire top level of the parking garage is for visitor parking for my friends/family when they come over. The only negatives I have are some of the corners are a little tight in the parking garage and residents drive through pretty quickly. Also, Valet Waste has missed my trash a few nights.Overall my living experience has been exceptional, I look forward to living here for many years to come. If youre looking for a place to call home in the Brentwood/Allendale/Hyde Park area look no further!
